48:1
לְמוֹאָ֡ב כֹּה־אָמַר֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה צְבָא֜וֹת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל ה֤וֹי אֶל־נְבוֹ֙ כִּ֣י שֻׁדָּ֔דָה הֹבִ֥ישָׁה נִלְכְּדָ֖ה קִרְיָתָ֑יִם הֹבִ֥ישָׁה הַמִּשְׂגָּ֖ב וָחָֽתָּה׃
καὶ ἐγένετο τῷ μηνὶ τῷ ἑβδόμῳ ἦλθεν Ισμαηλ υἱὸς Ναθανιου υἱοῦ Ελασα ἀπὸ γένους τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ δέκα ἄνδρες μετ’ αὐτοῦ πρὸς Γοδολιαν εἰς Μασσηφα καὶ ἔφαγον ἐκεῖ ἄρτον ἅμα
Ad Moab. Haec dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Vae super Nabo, quoniam vastata est, et confusa ! capta est Cariathaim, confusa est fortis, et tremuit.
ዘበእንተ፡ ሞአብ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጸባኦት፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወይሌ፡ ላዕለ፡ ናበው፡ እስመ፡ ጠፍአት፡ ወኀፍረት፡ ወተነሥአት፡ ቀርያታርም፡ ተኀፍረ፡ ጸወና፡ ወተመውአ።
Of Moab. Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Woe to Nebo! For it is laid waste. Kiriathaim is disappointed. It is taken. Misgab is put to shame and broken down.
48:2
אֵ֣ין עוֹד֮ תְּהִלַּ֣ת מוֹאָב֒ בְּחֶשְׁבּ֗וֹן חָשְׁב֤וּ עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ רָעָ֔ה לְכ֖וּ וְנַכְרִיתֶ֣נָּה מִגּ֑וֹי גַּם־מַדְמֵ֣ן תִּדֹּ֔מִּי אַחֲרַ֖יִךְ תֵּ֥לֶךְ חָֽרֶב׃
καὶ ἀνέστη Ισμαηλ καὶ οἱ δέκα ἄνδρες οἳ ἦσαν μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπάταξαν τὸν Γοδολιαν ὃν κατέστησεν βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
Non est ultra exsultatio in Moab contra Hesebon : cogitaverunt malum : Venite, et disperdamus eam de gente. Ergo silens conticesces, sequeturque te gladius.
አልባ፡ እንከ፡ ፈውስ፡ ለሞአብ፡ ላዕለ፡ ሐሴቦን፡ ሜጡ፡ ላዕሌሃ፡ እኩየ፡ ንዑ፡ ንምትራ፡ እምውስተ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ወኀዲገኒ፡ ትትኀደግ፡ እስመ፡ እምድኅሬሃ፡ ትመጽእ፡ ኵናት።
The praise of Moab is no more. In Heshbon they have devised evil against her: ‘Come! Let’s cut her off from being a nation.’ You also, Madmen, will be brought to silence. The sword will pursue you.
48:3
ק֥וֹל צְעָקָ֖ה מֵחֹרוֹנָ֑יִם שֹׁ֖ד וָשֶׁ֥בֶר גָּדֽוֹל׃
καὶ πάντας τοὺς Ιουδαίους τοὺς ὄντας μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐν Μασσηφα καὶ πάντας τοὺς Χαλδαίους τοὺς εὑρεθέντας ἐκεῖ
Vox clamoris de Oronaim, vastitas et contritio magna.
እስመ፡ ቃለ፡ እለ፡ ይዌውዑ፡ እምውስተ፡ አድባር፡ ቅጥቃጤ፡ ዓቢየ።
The sound of a cry from Horonaim, desolation and great destruction!
48:4
נִשְׁבְּרָ֖ה מוֹאָ֑ב הִשְׁמִ֥יעוּ זְּעָקָ֖ה (צעוריה) [צְעִירֶֽיהָ]׃
καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ δευτέρᾳ πατάξαντος αὐτοῦ τὸν Γοδολιαν καὶ ἄνθρωπος οὐκ ἔγνω
Contrita est Moab : annuntiate clamorem parvulis ejus.
ተቀጥቀጠ፡ ሞአብ፡ ዜንዉ፡ ውስተ፡ ሴጎር።
Moab is destroyed. Her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
48:5
כִּ֚י מַעֲלֵ֣ה (הלחות) [הַלֻּחִ֔ית] בִּבְכִ֖י יַעֲלֶה־בֶּ֑כִי כִּ֚י בְּמוֹרַ֣ד חוֹרֹנַ֔יִם צָרֵ֥י צַעֲקַת־שֶׁ֖בֶר שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃
καὶ ἤλθοσαν ἄνδρες ἀπὸ Συχεμ καὶ ἀπὸ Σαλημ καὶ ἀπὸ Σαμαρείας ὀγδοήκοντα ἄνδρες ἐξυρημένοι πώγωνας καὶ διερρηγμένοι τὰ ἱμάτια καὶ κοπτόμενοι καὶ μαναα καὶ λίβανος ἐν χερσὶν αὐτῶν τοῦ εἰσενεγκεῖν εἰς οἶκον κυρίου
Per ascensum enim Luith plorans ascendet in fletu, quoniam in descensu Oronaim hostes ululatum contritionis audierunt.
እስመ፡ በዝኀ፡ ብካያ፡ እንዘ፡ የዐርጉ፡ ሉዊት።
For they will go up by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping. For at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.
48:6
נֻ֖סוּ מַלְּט֣וּ נַפְשְׁכֶ֑ם וְתִֽהְיֶ֔ינָה כַּעֲרוֹעֵ֖ר בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃
καὶ ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ἀπάντησιν αὐτοῖς Ισμαηλ αὐτοὶ ἐπορεύοντο καὶ ἔκλαιον καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς εἰσέλθετε πρὸς Γοδολιαν
Fugite, salvate animas vestras, et eritis quasi myricae in deserto :
ጕዩ፡ ወአድኅኑ፡ ነፍሰክሙ፡ ወንበሩ፡ ገዳመ፡ ከመ፡ ሐለስትዮ።
Flee! Save your lives! Be like the juniper bush in the wilderness.
48:7
כִּ֠י יַ֣עַן בִּטְחֵ֤ךְ בְּמַעֲשַׂ֙יִךְ֙ וּבְא֣וֹצְרוֹתַ֔יִךְ גַּם־אַ֖תְּ תִּלָּכֵ֑דִי וְיָצָ֤א (כמיש) [כְמוֹשׁ֙] בַּגּוֹלָ֔ה כֹּהֲנָ֥יו וְשָׂרָ֖יו (יחד) [יַחְדָּֽיו]׃
καὶ ἐγένετο εἰσελθόντων αὐτῶν εἰς τὸ μέσον τῆς πόλεως ἔσφαξεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ φρέαρ
pro eo enim quod habuisti fiduciam in munitionibus tuis et in thesauris tuis, tu quoque capieris : et ibit Chamos in transmigrationem, sacerdotes ejus et principes ejus simul.
ወይነሥኡኪ፡ እስመ፡ ተወከልኪ፡ በምግባርኪ፡ ወበመዛግብትኪ፡ ወለኪኒ፡ ይእኅዙኪ፡ ወይወፅእ፡ ኮሞስ፡ ኀበ፡ ያፈልስዎ፡ ወገነውቱኒ፡ ወመላእክቲሁ፡ ኅቡረ።
For, because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you also will be taken. Chemosh will go out into captivity, his priests and his princes together.
48:8
וְיָבֹ֨א שֹׁדֵ֜ד אֶל־כׇּל־עִ֗יר וְעִיר֙ לֹ֣א תִמָּלֵ֔ט וְאָבַ֥ד הָעֵ֖מֶק וְנִשְׁמַ֣ד הַמִּישֹׁ֑ר אֲשֶׁ֖ר אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ δέκα ἄνδρες εὑρέθησαν ἐκεῖ καὶ εἶπαν τῷ Ισμαηλ μὴ ἀνέλῃς ἡμᾶς ὅτι εἰσὶν ἡμῖν θησαυροὶ ἐν ἀγρῷ πυροὶ καὶ κριθαί μέλι καὶ ἔλαιον καὶ παρῆλθεν καὶ οὐκ ἀνεῖλεν αὐτοὺς ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν
Et veniet praedo ad omnem urbem, et urbs nulla salvabitur : et peribunt valles, et dissipabuntur campestria, quoniam dixit Dominus :
ወይመጽእ፡ ተሠርዎ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ አህጉር፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይድኅን፡ ይመውት፡ ዘውስተ፡ ሀገር፡ ወየኀልቅ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ገዳም፡ በከመ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
The destroyer will come on every city, and no city will escape; the valley also will perish, and the plain will be destroyed, as Yahweh has spoken.
48:9
תְּנוּ־צִ֣יץ לְמוֹאָ֔ב כִּ֥י נָצֹ֖א תֵּצֵ֑א וְעָרֶ֙יהָ֙ לְשַׁמָּ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֔ינָה מֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵׁ֖ב בָּהֵֽן׃
καὶ τὸ φρέαρ εἰς ὃ ἔρριψεν ἐκεῖ Ισμαηλ πάντας οὓς ἐπάταξεν φρέαρ μέγα τοῦτό ἐστιν ὃ ἐποίησεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ασα ἀπὸ προσώπου Βαασα βασιλέως Ισραηλ τοῦτο ἐνέπλησεν Ισμαηλ τραυματιῶν
Date florem Moab, quia florens egredietur : et civitates ejus desertae erunt, et inhabitabiles.
ሀቡ፡ ጽጌ፡ ለሞአብ፡ እስመ፡ ወፂአ፡ ትወፅእ፡ ወይመዘብር፡ ኵሉ፡ አህጉሪሃ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይነብሮን።
Give wings to Moab, that she may fly and get herself away: and her cities will become a desolation, without anyone to dwell in them.
48:10
אָר֗וּר עֹשֶׂ֛ה מְלֶ֥אכֶת יְהֹוָ֖ה רְמִיָּ֑ה וְאָר֕וּר מֹנֵ֥עַ חַרְבּ֖וֹ מִדָּֽם׃
καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Ισμαηλ πάντα τὸν λαὸν τὸν καταλειφθέντα εἰς Μασσηφα καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας τοῦ βασιλέως ἃς παρεκατέθετο ὁ ἀρχιμάγειρος τῷ Γοδολια υἱῷ Αχικαμ καὶ ᾤχετο εἰς τὸ πέραν υἱῶν Αμμων
Maledictus qui facit opus Domini fraudulenter, et maledictus qui prohibet gladium suum a sanguine.
ርጉመ፡ ለይኩን፡ ዘያሰትት፡ ግብረ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወርጉም፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘይከልእ፡ መጥባሕቶ፡ እምደም።
“Cursed is he who does the work of Yahweh negligently; and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.
48:11
שַׁאֲנַ֨ן מוֹאָ֜ב מִנְּעוּרָ֗יו וְשֹׁקֵ֥ט הוּא֙ אֶל־שְׁמָרָ֔יו וְלֹֽא־הוּרַ֤ק מִכְּלִי֙ אֶל־כֶּ֔לִי וּבַגּוֹלָ֖ה לֹ֣א הָלָ֑ךְ עַל־כֵּ֗ן עָמַ֤ד טַעְמוֹ֙ בּ֔וֹ וְרֵיח֖וֹ לֹ֥א נָמָֽר׃ {ס}
καὶ ἤκουσεν Ιωαναν υἱὸς Καρηε καὶ πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ πάντα τὰ κακά ἃ ἐποίησεν Ισμαηλ
Fertilis fuit Moab ab adolescentia sua, et requievit in faecibus suis : nec transfusus est de vase in vas, et in transmigrationem non abiit : idcirco permansit gustus ejus in eo, et odor ejus non est immutatus.
ወአዕረፈት፡ ሞአብ፡ እምደቂቃ፡ ወተአመነ፡ ዓቃቢሁ፡ ወኢተሰውጠ፡ እምጸሕብ፡ ውስተ፡ ጻሕብ፡ ወኢሖረ፡ ወኢፈለሰ፡ በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ቆመ፡ ጣዕሙ፡ ወመዐዛሁኒ፡ የኀልቅ።
“Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his dregs, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither has he gone into captivity; therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent is not changed.
48:12
לָכֵ֞ן הִנֵּֽה־יָמִ֤ים בָּאִים֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־ל֥וֹ צֹעִ֖ים וְצֵעֻ֑הוּ וְכֵלָ֣יו יָרִ֔יקוּ וְנִבְלֵיהֶ֖ם יְנַפֵּֽצוּ׃
καὶ ἤγαγον ἅπαν τὸ στρατόπεδον αὐτῶν καὶ ᾤχοντο πολεμεῖν αὐτὸν καὶ εὗρον αὐτὸν ἐπὶ ὕδατος πολλοῦ ἐν Γαβαων
Propterea ecce dies veniunt, dicit Dominus, et mittam ei ordinatores et stratores laguncularum : et sternent eum, et vasa ejus exhaurient, et lagunculas eorum collident.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ናሁ፡ ይመጽእ፡ መዋዕል፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እፌኑ፡ ሎቱ፡ ጠዋይያነ፡ ወይጠውይዎ፡ ወንዋዮሂ፡ ይቀጠቅጡ፡ ወይሰብሩ፡ አጽሕብቲሁ።
Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will send to him those who pour off, and they will pour him off; and they will empty his vessels, and break their containers in pieces.
48:13
וּבֹ֥שׁ מוֹאָ֖ב מִכְּמ֑וֹשׁ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר־בֹּ֙שׁוּ֙ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִבֵּ֥ית אֵ֖ל מִבְטֶחָֽם׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε εἶδον πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ὁ μετὰ Ισμαηλ τὸν Ιωαναν καὶ τοὺς ἡγεμόνας τῆς δυνάμεως τῆς μετ’ αὐτοῦ
Et confundetur Moab a Chamos sicut confusa est domus Israël a Bethel, in qua habebat fiduciam.
ወትትኀፈር፡ ሞአብ፡ እምነ፡ ኮሞስ፡ ከመ፡ ተኀፍረት፡ ቤተ፡ እስራኤል፡ እምነ፡ ቤቴል፡ ተስፋሆሙ፡ ዘተወከሉ፡ ቦሙ።
Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.
48:14
אֵ֚יךְ תֹּֽאמְר֔וּ גִּבּוֹרִ֖ים אֲנָ֑חְנוּ וְאַנְשֵׁי־חַ֖יִל לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃
καὶ ἀνέστρεψαν πρὸς Ιωαναν
Quomodo dicitis : Fortes sumus, et viri robusti ad praeliandum ?
ወእፎ፡ ትብሉ፡ ጽኑዓን፡ ንሕነ፡ ዕደው፡ ኃያላን፡ በውስተ፡ ቀትል።
“How do you say, ‘We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war’?
48:15
שֻׁדַּ֤ד מוֹאָב֙ וְעָרֶ֣יהָ עָלָ֔ה וּמִבְחַ֥ר בַּחוּרָ֖יו יָרְד֣וּ לַטָּ֑בַח נְאֻ֨ם־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמֽוֹ׃
καὶ Ισμαηλ ἐσώθη σὺν ὀκτὼ ἀνθρώποις καὶ ᾤχετο πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Αμμων
Vastata est Moab, et civitates illius succiderunt, et electi juvenes ejus descenderunt in occisionem, ait Rex : Dominus exercituum nomen ejus.
ወተሐጕለት፡ ሞአብ፡ በውስተ፡ ቀትል፡ ሀገሩ፡ ወኅሩያኒሁ፡ ወወራዙቱ፡ ወረዱ፡ ወተቀትሉ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጸባኦት፡ ስሙ።
Moab is laid waste, and they have gone up into his cities, and his chosen young men have gone down to the slaughter,” says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies.
48:16
קָר֥וֹב אֵיד־מוֹאָ֖ב לָב֑וֹא וְרָ֣עָת֔וֹ מִהֲרָ֖ה מְאֹֽד׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωαναν καὶ πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ πάντας τοὺς καταλοίπους τοῦ λαοῦ οὕς ἀπέστρεψεν ἀπὸ Ισμαηλ δυνατοὺς ἄνδρας ἐν πολέμῳ καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ καὶ τοὺς εὐνούχους οὓς ἀπέστρεψεν ἀπὸ Γαβαων
Prope est interitus Moab ut veniat, et malum ejus velociter accurret nimis.
አልጸቀት፡ ትምጻእ፡ ተሐጕሎተ፡ ሞአብ፡ ወአፍጠነት፡ ጥቀ፡ እከዩሂ።
“The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hurries fast.
48:17
נֻ֤דוּ לוֹ֙ כׇּל־סְבִיבָ֔יו וְכֹ֖ל יֹדְעֵ֣י שְׁמ֑וֹ אִמְר֗וּ אֵיכָ֤ה נִשְׁבַּר֙ מַטֵּה־עֹ֔ז מַקֵּ֖ל תִּפְאָרָֽה׃
καὶ ᾤχοντο καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐν Γαβηρωθ‐χαμααμ τὴν πρὸς Βηθλεεμ τοῦ πορευθῆναι εἰσελθεῖν εἰς Αἴγυπτον
Consolamini eum, omnes qui estis in circuitu ejus : et universi qui scitis nomen ejus, dicite : Quomodo confracta est virga fortis, baculus gloriosus ?
አንቀልቅሉ፡ ሎቱ፡ ኵልክሙ፡ እለ፡ ዐውዱ፡ ወኵልክሙ፡ እለ፡ ተአምሩ፡ ስሞ፡ በሉ፡ እፎ፡ ተቀጥቀጠት፡ ቀስታም፡ ጽንዕት፡ ወበትር፡ ዓቢይ።
All you who are around him, bemoan him; and all you who know his name, say, ‘How the strong staff is broken, the beautiful rod!’
48:18
רְדִ֤י מִכָּבוֹד֙ (ישבי) [וּשְׁבִ֣י] בַצָּמָ֔א יֹשֶׁ֖בֶת בַּת־דִּיב֑וֹן כִּֽי־שֹׁדֵ֤ד מוֹאָב֙ עָ֣לָה בָ֔ךְ שִׁחֵ֖ת מִבְצָרָֽיִךְ׃
ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν Χαλδαίων ὅτι ἐφοβήθησαν ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν ὅτι ἐπάταξεν Ισμαηλ τὸν Γοδολιαν ὃν κατέστησεν βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ἐν τῇ γῇ
Descende de gloria, et sede in siti, habitatio filiae Dibon, quoniam vastator Moab ascendit ad te : dissipavit munitiones tuas.
ረዲ፡ እምነ፡ ክብርኪ፡ ወንበሪ፡ ውስተ፡ ርጡብ፡ ወለተ፡ ዴባን፡ ተቀጥቀጠት፡ ሞአብ፡ ዐርገ፡ ላዕሌኪ፡ ዘየኀሥሮ፡ ለአጽዋንኪ።
“You daughter who dwells in Dibon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the destroyer of Moab has come up against you. He has destroyed your strongholds.
48:19
אֶל־דֶּ֛רֶךְ עִמְדִ֥י וְצַפִּ֖י יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת עֲרוֹעֵ֑ר שַׁאֲלִי־נָ֣ס וְנִמְלָ֔טָה אִמְרִ֖י מַה־נִּֽהְיָֽתָה׃
—
In via sta, et prospice, habitatio Aroër : interroga fugientem, et ei qui evasit dic : Quid accidit ?
ቁሚ፡ ውስተ፡ ፍኖት፡ ወርእዪያ፡ ለእንተ፡ ትነብር፡ ውስተ፡ አሮኤል፡ ወተሰአልዮ፡ ለዘአምሠጠ፡ እንዘ፡ ይጐይይ፡ ወበልዮ፡ ምንተ፡ ኮነት።
Inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way and watch. Ask him who flees, and her who escapes; say, ‘What has been done?’
48:20
הֹבִ֥ישׁ מוֹאָ֛ב כִּי־חַ֖תָּה (הילילי וזעקי) [הֵילִ֣ילוּ׀וּֽזְעָ֑קוּ] הַגִּ֣ידוּ בְאַרְנ֔וֹן כִּ֥י שֻׁדַּ֖ד מוֹאָֽב׃
—
Confusus est Moab, quoniam victus est. Ululate, et clamate : annuntiate in Arnon, quoniam vastata est Moab,
ተኀፍረት፡ ሞአብ፡ ወተቀጥቀጠት፡ አውይዉ፡ ወገዐሩ፡ ወዜንዉ፡ ውስተ፡ አርኖን።
Moab is disappointed; for it is broken down. Wail and cry! Tell it by the Arnon, that Moab is laid waste.
48:21
וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט בָּ֖א אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ הַמִּישֹׁ֑ר אֶל־חֹל֥וֹן וְאֶל־יַ֖הְצָה וְעַל־(מופעת) [מֵיפָֽעַת]׃
—
et judicium venit ad terram campestrem, super Helon, et super Jasa, et super Mephaath,
ወይመጽእ፡ ኵነኔ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድረ፡ ሜሳር፡ ወላዕለ፡ ከይሎን፡ ወኢያሳ፡ ወራባስ።
Judgment has come on the plain country— on Holon, on Jahzah, on Mephaath,
48:22
וְעַל־דִּיב֣וֹן וְעַל־נְב֔וֹ וְעַל־בֵּ֖ית דִּבְלָתָֽיִם׃

et super Dibon, et super Nabo, et super domum Deblathaim,
ወዴባን፡ ወናባው፡ ወላዕለ፡ ቤተ፡ ዴብላታ።
on Dibon, on Nebo, on Beth Diblathaim,
48:23
וְעַ֧ל קִרְיָתַ֛יִם וְעַל־בֵּ֥ית גָּמ֖וּל וְעַל־בֵּ֥ית מְעֽוֹן׃
—
et super Cariathaim, et super Bethgamul, et super Bethmaon,
ወቀርያታርም፡ ወቤተ፡ ገማአብ፡ ወቤተ፡ ሜኦን።
on Kiriathaim, on Beth Gamul, on Beth Meon,
48:24
וְעַל־קְרִיּ֖וֹת וְעַל־בׇּצְרָ֑ה וְעַ֗ל כׇּל־עָרֵי֙ אֶ֣רֶץ מוֹאָ֔ב הָרְחֹק֖וֹת וְהַקְּרֹבֽוֹת׃
—
et super Carioth, et super Bosra, et super omnes civitates terrae Moab, quae longe et quae prope sunt.
ወቀርዮት፡ ወባሶር፡ ወላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ አህጉረ፡ ሞአብ፡ ዘቅሩብ፡ ወዘርኁቅ።
on Kerioth, on Bozrah, and on all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
48:25
נִגְדְּעָה֙ קֶ֣רֶן מוֹאָ֔ב וּזְרֹע֖וֹ נִשְׁבָּ֑רָה נְאֻ֖ם יְהֹוָֽה׃
—
Abscissum est cornu Moab, et brachium ejus contritum est, ait Dominus.
ወተሰብረ፡ ቀርነ፡ ሞአብ፡ ወቀጥቀጠት፡ እዴሁ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken,” says Yahweh.
48:26
הַשְׁכִּירֻ֕הוּ כִּ֥י עַל־יְהֹוָ֖ה הִגְדִּ֑יל וְסָפַ֤ק מוֹאָב֙ בְּקִיא֔וֹ וְהָיָ֥ה לִשְׂחֹ֖ק גַּם־הֽוּא׃
—
Inebriate eum, quoniam contra Dominum erectus est : et allidet manum Moab in vomitu suo, et erit in derisum etiam ipse.
አስከርዋ፡ እስመ፡ ተዐበየት፡ ላዕለ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
“Make him drunk, for he magnified himself against Yahweh. Moab will wallow in his vomit, and he also will be in derision.
48:27
וְאִ֣ם׀ ל֣וֹא הַשְּׂחֹ֗ק הָיָ֤ה לְךָ֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אִם־בְּגַנָּבִ֖ים (נמצאה) [נִמְצָ֑א] כִּֽי־מִדֵּ֧י דְבָרֶ֛יךָ בּ֖וֹ תִּתְנוֹדָֽד׃
—
Fuit enim in derisum tibi Israël : quasi inter fures reperisses eum : propter verba ergo tua quae adversum illum locutus es, captivus duceris.
ወለእመ፡ ኢሰሐቅዋ፡ ትከውን፡ ለከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ ሰራቂ፡ ዘተረክበ፡ ለለተናገርከ፡ ባቲ፡ ትትሀወክ።
For wasn’t Israel a derision to you? Was he found among thieves? For as often as you speak of him, you shake your head.
48:28
עִזְב֤וּ עָרִים֙ וְשִׁכְנ֣וּ בַסֶּ֔לַע יֹשְׁבֵ֖י מוֹאָ֑ב וִֽהְי֣וּ כְיוֹנָ֔ה תְּקַנֵּ֖ן בְּעֶבְרֵ֥י פִי־פָֽחַת׃
—
Relinquite civitates, et habitate in petra, habitatores Moab : et estote quasi columba nidificans in summo ore foraminis.
እስመ፡ ተኀድጉ፡ አህጉር፡ ወነበሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ኰኵሕ፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ሞአብ፡ ወኮኑ፡ ከመ፡ ርግብ፡ እለ፡ የሐፅና፡ ውስተ፡ ኰኵሕ፡ ወውስተ፡ አፈ፡ ግበብ።
You inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock. Be like the dove that makes her nest over the mouth of the abyss.
48:29
שָׁמַ֥עְנוּ גְאוֹן־מוֹאָ֖ב גֵּאֶ֣ה מְאֹ֑ד גׇּבְה֧וֹ וּגְאוֹנ֛וֹ וְגַאֲוָת֖וֹ וְרֻ֥ם לִבּֽוֹ׃
—
Audivimus superbiam Moab : superbus est valde : sublimitatem ejus, et arrogantiam, et superbiam, et altitudinem cordis ejus.
ሰማዕ፡ ጽዕለታ፡ ለሞአብ፡ ወዓቢየ፡ ኃሣረ፡ ዘአኅሠረ፡ ወትዕቦቶ፡ ዘአዕበየ፡ ልቦ።
“We have heard of the pride of Moab. He is very proud in his loftiness, his pride, his arrogance, and the arrogance of his heart.
48:30
אֲנִ֤י יָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה עֶבְרָת֖וֹ וְלֹא־כֵ֑ן בַּדָּ֖יו לֹא־כֵ֥ן עָשֽׂוּ׃
—
Ego scio, ait Dominus, jactantiam ejus, et quod non sit juxta eam virtus ejus, nec juxta quod poterat conata sit facere.
ወአንሰ፡ አእመርኩ፡ ምግባሮሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወአኮ፡ በአምጣነ፡ ኃይሉ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ከማሁ።
I know his wrath,” says Yahweh, “that it is nothing; his boastings have done nothing.
48:31
עַל־כֵּן֙ עַל־מוֹאָ֣ב אֲיֵלִ֔יל וּלְמוֹאָ֥ב כֻּלֹּ֖ה אֶזְעָ֑ק אֶל־אַנְשֵׁ֥י קִֽיר־חֶ֖רֶשׂ יֶהְגֶּֽה׃
—
Ideo super Moab ejulabo, et ad Moab universam clamabo, ad viros muri fictilis lamentantes :
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ አአወዩ፡ ላዕለ፡ ሞአብ፡ እንተ፡ ኵለሄ፡ ወእግዕር፡ ላዕለ፡ ዕደወ፡ ቂራዲስ፡ አአወዩ።
Therefore I will wail for Moab. Yes, I will cry out for all Moab. They will mourn for the men of Kir Heres.
48:32
מִבְּכִ֨י יַעְזֵ֤ר אֶבְכֶּה־לָּךְ֙ הַגֶּ֣פֶן שִׂבְמָ֔ה נְטִישֹׁתַ֙יִךְ֙ עָ֣בְרוּ יָ֔ם עַ֛ד יָ֥ם יַעְזֵ֖ר נָגָ֑עוּ עַל־קֵיצֵ֥ךְ וְעַל־בְּצִירֵ֖ךְ שֹׁדֵ֥ד נָפָֽל׃
—
de planctu Jazer plorabo tibi, vinea Sabama. Propagines tuae transierunt mare ; usque ad mare Jazer pervenerunt : super messem tuam et vindemiam tuam praedo irruit.
ወብካየ፡ ኢያዜር፡ እበኪ፡ ለኪ፡ ወይነ፡ ሶባማ፡ አሕራግኪ፡ ዐደዉ፡ እምባሕር፡ ወእስከ፡ ባሕረ፡ ኢያዜር፡ በጽሑ፡ ላዕለ፡ ቀምሕኪ፡ ወላዕለ፡ ቀሥምቂ፡ ወረደ፡ ጥፋአት፡ ወአጥፍእዎ፡ ቀሠምት።
With more than the weeping of Jazer I will weep for you, vine of Sibmah. Your branches passed over the sea. They reached even to the sea of Jazer. The destroyer has fallen on your summer fruits and on your vintage.
48:33
וְנֶאֶסְפָ֨ה שִׂמְחָ֥ה וָגִ֛יל מִכַּרְמֶ֖ל וּמֵאֶ֣רֶץ מוֹאָ֑ב וְיַ֙יִן֙ מִיקָבִ֣ים הִשְׁבַּ֔תִּי לֹא־יִדְרֹ֣ךְ הֵידָ֔ד הֵידָ֖ד לֹ֥א הֵידָֽד׃
—
Ablata est laetitia et exsultatio de Carmelo et de terra Moab, et vinum de torcularibus sustuli : nequaquam calcator uvae solitum celeuma cantabit.
ወኀልቀ፡ ትፍሥሕት፡ ወኃሤት፡ እምከርሜል፡ ወእምድረ፡ ሞአብ፡ ወወይንሂ፡ እምነ፡ ምክያድ፡ ጠፍአ፡ ኢበነግህ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘይከይዱ፡ ወኢበሰርክ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘይገብሩ።
Gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab. I have caused wine to cease from the wine presses. No one will tread with shouting. The shouting will be no shouting.
48:34
מִזַּעֲקַ֨ת חֶשְׁבּ֜וֹן עַד־אֶלְעָלֵ֗ה עַד־יַ֙הַץ֙ נָתְנ֣וּ קוֹלָ֔ם מִצֹּ֙עַר֙ עַד־חֹ֣רֹנַ֔יִם עֶגְלַ֖ת שְׁלִֽשִׁיָּ֑ה כִּ֚י גַּם־מֵ֣י נִמְרִ֔ים לִמְשַׁמּ֖וֹת יִהְיֽוּ׃
—
De clamore Hesebon usque Eleale et Jasa, dederunt vocem suam ; a Segor usque ad Oronaim, vitula conternante : aquae quoque Nemrim pessimae erunt.
እምአውያተ፡ ሐሴቦን፡ እስከ፡ ኤሌዓል፡ ወእስከ፡ የሐፅ፡ ወሀቡ፡ ቃሎሙ፡ እምሴጎር፡ እስከ፡ ኃሮኔም፡ እጐልት፡ እንተ፡ ፫ክረምታ፡ እስመ፡ ማየ፡ ኔምሬም፡ ኮነ፡ በድወ።
From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh, even to Jahaz they have uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim, to Eglath Shelishiyah; for the waters of Nimrim will also become desolate.
48:35
וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֥י לְמוֹאָ֖ב נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה מַעֲלֶ֣ה בָמָ֔ה וּמַקְטִ֖יר לֵאלֹהָֽיו׃
—
Et auferam de Moab, ait Dominus, offerentem in excelsis, et sacrificantem diis ejus.
ወአጠፍኦ፡ ለሞአብ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወዘየዐርግ፡ ውስተ፡ ምሥዋዕ፡ ወዘየዐጥን፡ ለአማልክቲሁ።
Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab,” says Yahweh, “him who offers in the high place, and him who burns incense to his gods.
48:36
עַל־כֵּ֞ן לִבִּ֤י לְמוֹאָב֙ כַּחֲלִלִ֣ים יֶהֱמֶ֔ה וְלִבִּי֙ אֶל־אַנְשֵׁ֣י קִֽיר־חֶ֔רֶשׂ כַּחֲלִילִ֖ים יֶהֱמֶ֑ה עַל־כֵּ֛ן יִתְרַ֥ת עָשָׂ֖ה אָבָֽדוּ׃
—
Propterea cor meum ad Moab quasi tibiae resonabit, et cor meum ad viros muri fictilis dabit sonitum tibiarum : quia plus fecit quam potuit, idcirco perierunt.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ልብየ፡ ይነቁ፡ ለሞአብ፡ ከመ፡ ዕንዚራ፡ ወይልብየ፡ ላዕለ፡ ዕደወ፡ ቂራዲስ፡ ይነቁ፡ ከመ፡ ዕንዚራ፡ በእንተ፡ ዘገብረ።
Therefore my heart sounds for Moab like flutes, and my heart sounds like flutes for the men of Kir Heres. Therefore the abundance that he has gotten has perished.
48:37
כִּ֤י כׇל־רֹאשׁ֙ קׇרְחָ֔ה וְכׇל־זָקָ֖ן גְּרֻעָ֑ה עַ֤ל כׇּל־יָדַ֙יִם֙ גְּדֻדֹ֔ת וְעַל־מׇתְנַ֖יִם שָֽׂק׃
—
Omne enim caput calvitium, et omnis barba rasa erit : in cunctis manibus colligatio, et super omne dorsum cilicium :
እስመ፡ በርእሰ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሰብእ፡ ብርሐት፡ ‹‹፡ ወኵሉ፡ በሐውርት፡ ይትላጸዩ፡ ››፡ ወያአትቱ፡ ኵሎ፡ ጽሕሞሙ፡ ወይትቀጠቀጥ፡ ኵሉ፡ አእዳው፡ ወይቀንቱ፡ ሠቀ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ሐቌሆሙ።
For every head is bald, and every beard clipped. There are cuttings on all the hands, and sackcloth on the waist.
48:38
עַ֣ל כׇּל־גַּגּ֥וֹת מוֹאָ֛ב וּבִרְחֹבֹתֶ֖יהָ כֻּלֹּ֣ה מִסְפֵּ֑ד כִּי־שָׁבַ֣רְתִּי אֶת־מוֹאָ֗ב כִּכְלִ֛י אֵֽין־חֵ֥פֶץ בּ֖וֹ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃
—
super omnia tecta Moab, et in plateis ejus, omnis planctus : quoniam contrivi Moab sicut vas inutile, ait Dominus.
ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ አንሕስተ፡ ሞአብ፡ ወውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ መርሕብሂ፡ ላሕ፡ እስመ፡ ቀጥቀጥክዋ፡ ለሞአብ፡ ከመ፡ ጻሕብ፡ ዘለምንትሂ፡ ኢይበቊዕ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
On all the housetops of Moab, and in its streets, there is lamentation everywhere; for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which no one delights,” says Yahweh.
48:39
אֵ֥יךְ חַ֙תָּה֙ הֵילִ֔ילוּ אֵ֛יךְ הִפְנָה־עֹ֥רֶף מוֹאָ֖ב בּ֑וֹשׁ וְהָיָ֥ה מוֹאָ֛ב לִשְׂחֹ֥ק וְלִמְחִתָּ֖ה לְכׇל־סְבִיבָֽיו׃ {ס}
—
Quomodo victa est, et ululaverunt ? quomodo dejecit cervicem Moab, et confusus est ? eritque Moab in derisum, et in exemplum omnibus in circuitu suo.
እፎ፡ ተለወጠት፡ ወሜጠት፡ ዘባና፡ ሞአብ፡ ወኮነት፡ ሰሐቀ፡ ወሥላቀ፡ ለኵሉ፡ አድያሚሃ።
“How it is broken down! How they wail! How Moab has turned the back with shame! So will Moab become a derision and a terror to all who are around him.”
48:40
כִּי־כֹה֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִנֵּ֥ה כַנֶּ֖שֶׁר יִדְאֶ֑ה וּפָרַ֥שׂ כְּנָפָ֖יו אֶל־מוֹאָֽב׃
—
Haec dicit Dominus : Ecce quasi aquila volabit, et extendet alas suas ad Moab.
እስመ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ናሁ፡ ከመ፡ ንስር፡ ይሰርር፡ ወይሰፍሕ፡ ክነፊሁ፡ ኀበ፡ ሞአብ።
For Yahweh says: “Behold, he will fly as an eagle, and will spread out his wings against Moab.
48:41
נִלְכְּדָה֙ הַקְּרִיּ֔וֹת וְהַמְּצָד֖וֹת נִתְפָּ֑שָׂה וְֽ֠הָיָ֠ה לֵ֞ב גִּבּוֹרֵ֤י מוֹאָב֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא כְּלֵ֖ב אִשָּׁ֥ה מְצֵרָֽה׃
—
Capta est Carioth, et munitiones comprehensae sunt : et erit cor fortium Moab in die illa sicut cor mulieris parturientis,
ተእኅዘት፡ ሐቌርዮት፡ ወተእኅዛ፡ አጽዋኒሃ፡ ወኮነ፡ ልበ፡ ሠራዊተ፡ ሞአብ፡ ውእቱ፡ አሚረ፡ ከመ፡ ልበ፡ ብእሲት፡ እንተ፡ ውስተ፡ ማሕምም።
Kerioth is taken, and the strongholds are seized. The heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day will be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
48:42
וְנִשְׁמַ֥ד מוֹאָ֖ב מֵעָ֑ם כִּ֥י עַל־יְהֹוָ֖ה הִגְדִּֽיל׃
—
et cessabit Moab esse populus, quoniam contra Dominum gloriatus est.
ወትጠፍእ፡ ሞአብ፡ እምሕዝብ፡ እስመ፡ ተዐበየት፡ ላዕለ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Moab will be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against Yahweh.
48:43
פַּ֥חַד וָפַ֖חַת וָפָ֑ח עָלֶ֛יךָ יוֹשֵׁ֥ב מוֹאָ֖ב נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃
—
Pavor, et fovea, et laqueus super te, o habitator Moab, dicit Dominus.
ፍርሃት፡ ወጸድፍ፡ ወመሥገርት፡ ላዕሌኪ፡ እንተ፡ ትነብር፡ ሞአብ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Terror, the pit, and the snare are on you, inhabitant of Moab,” says Yahweh.
48:44
(הניס) [הַנָּ֞ס] מִפְּנֵ֤י הַפַּ֙חַד֙ יִפֹּ֣ל אֶל־הַפַּ֔חַת וְהָֽעֹלֶה֙ מִן־הַפַּ֔חַת יִלָּכֵ֖ד בַּפָּ֑ח כִּֽי־אָבִ֨יא אֵלֶ֧יהָ אֶל־מוֹאָ֛ב שְׁנַ֥ת פְּקֻדָּתָ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃
—
Qui fugerit a facie pavoris cadet in foveam, et qui conscenderit de fovea capietur laqueo : adducam enim super Moab annum visitationis eorum, ait Dominus.
ዘጐየ፡ እምገጸ፡ ፍርሃት፡ ይወድቅ፡ ውስተ፡ ጸድፍ፡ ወዘወፅአ፡ እምጸድፍ፡ ይእኅዞ፡ መሥገርት፡ እስመ፡ ዘንተ፡ አመጽእ፡ ላዕለ፡ ሞአብ፡ በዓመተ፡ እሔውጾሙ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
“He who flees from the terror will fall into the pit; and he who gets up out of the pit will be taken in the snare, for I will bring on him, even on Moab, the year of their visitation,” says Yahweh.
48:45
בְּצֵ֥ל חֶשְׁבּ֛וֹן עָמְד֖וּ מִכֹּ֣חַ נָסִ֑ים כִּי־אֵ֞שׁ יָצָ֣א מֵחֶשְׁבּ֗וֹן וְלֶהָבָה֙ מִבֵּ֣ין סִיח֔וֹן וַתֹּ֙אכַל֙ פְּאַ֣ת מוֹאָ֔ב וְקׇדְקֹ֖ד בְּנֵ֥י שָׁאֽוֹן׃
—
In umbra Hesebon steterunt de laqueo fugientes, quia ignis egressus est de Hesebon, et flamma de medio Seon : et devorabit partem Moab, et verticem filiorum tumultus.
ውስተ፡ ጽላሎተ፡ ሐሴቦን፡ ቆሙ፡ እለ፡ ጐዩ፡ እምቀትል፡ እስመ፡ እሳት፡ ወፅአት፡ እምሐሴቦን፡ ወነድ፡ እማእከለ፡ ሴዎን፡ ወበልዐት፡ ገጸ፡ ሞአብ፡ ወርእሰ፡ ደቂቀ፡ ሳኦን።
“Those who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon; for a fire has gone out of Heshbon, and a flame from the middle of Sihon, and has devoured the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
48:46
אוֹי־לְךָ֣ מוֹאָ֔ב אָבַ֖ד עַם־כְּמ֑וֹשׁ כִּֽי־לֻקְּח֤וּ בָנֶ֙יךָ֙ בַּשֶּׁ֔בִי וּבְנֹתֶ֖יךָ בַּשִּׁבְיָֽה׃
—
Vae tibi, Moab : periisti, popule Chamos, quia comprehensi sunt filii tui et filiae tuae in captivitatem.
አሌ፡ ለኪ፡ ሞአብ፡ ተሐጕለ፡ ሕዝበ፡ ኮሞስ፡ እስመ፡ ተነሥኡ፡ ደቂቅኪ፡ በተፄውዎ፡ ወአዋልድኪ፡ ተፄወዋ።
Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh are undone; for your sons are taken away captive, and your daughters into captivity.
48:47
וְשַׁבְתִּ֧י שְׁבוּת־מוֹאָ֛ב בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית הַיָּמִ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה עַד־הֵ֖נָּה מִשְׁפַּ֥ט מוֹאָֽב׃ {ס}
—
Et convertam captivitatem Moab in novissimis diebus, ait Dominus. Hucusque judicia Moab.
ወእመይጥ፡ ፄዋ፡ ሞአብ፡ በደኃሪ፡ መዋዕል፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እስከ፡ ዝየ፡ ኵነኔ፡ ሞአብ።
“Yet I will reverse the captivity of Moab in the latter days,” says Yahweh. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
