2:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Διὰ τοῦτο δεῖ περισσοτέρως προσέχειν ἡμᾶς τοῖς ἀκουσθεῖσιν , μήποτε παραρυῶμεν .
Propterea abundantius oportet observare nos ea quae audivimus , ne forte pereffluamus .
ወበእንተ ዝንቱ ርቱዕ ንትዐቀብ ፈድፋደ እለ ሰማዕነ ወኢንትሀየይ ከመ ኢንደቅ ።
Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, lest perhaps we drift away.
2:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ γὰρ ὁ δι’ ἀγγέλων λαληθεὶς λόγος ἐγένετο βέβαιος , καὶ πᾶσα παράβασις καὶ παρακοὴ ἔλαβεν ἔνδικον μισθαποδοσίαν ,
Si enim qui per angelos dictus est sermo , factus est firmus , et omnis praevaricatio , et inobedientia accepit justam mercedis retributionem :
ወሶበኒ ኮነ ቃል ዘይቤ በእንተ መላእክት እምጸንዐ ወእምተጠየቀ ወኵሉ ዘሰምዐ ወዘዐለወ ወአበየ እምተኰነነ በርቱዕ ።
For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,
2:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ πῶς ἡμεῖς ἐκφευξόμεθα τηλικαύτης ἀμελήσαντες σωτηρίας ; ἥτις , ἀρχὴν λαβοῦσα λαλεῖσθαι διὰ τοῦ κυρίου , ὑπὸ τῶν ἀκουσάντων εἰς ἡμᾶς ἐβεβαιώθη ,
quomodo nos effugiemus si tantam neglexerimus salutem ? quae cum initium accepisset enarrari per Dominum ab eis , qui audierunt , in nos confirmata est ,
እፎ እንከ ናመሥጥ ንሕነ ዘመጠነዝ ሕይወተ አስቲተነ እንተ ቀደመት ተነግሮ በኀበ እግዚእነ ወተጠየቀት በኀቤነ እምኀበ እለ ሰምዑ እምኔሁ ።
how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard,
2:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ συνεπιμαρτυροῦντος τοῦ θεοῦ σημείοις τε καὶ τέρασιν καὶ ποικίλαις δυνάμεσιν καὶ πνεύματος ἁγίου μερισμοῖς κατὰ τὴν αὐτοῦ θέλησιν .
contestante Deo signis et portentis , et variis virtutibus , et Spiritus Sancti distributionibus secundum suam voluntatem .
እንዘ እግዚአብሔር ያርኢ ስምዖ ሎሙ ወያጸድቅ ነገሮሙ በትእምርት ወበመንክር ወዘዘዚኣሁ ኀይል ብዙኅ ላዕለ እደዊሆሙ ዘከመ ከፈሎሙ መንፈስ ቅዱስ በዘውእቱ ፈቀደ ።
God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?
2:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οὐ γὰρ ἀγγέλοις ὑπέταξεν τὴν οἰκουμένην τὴν μέλλουσαν , περὶ ἧς λαλοῦμεν .
Non enim angelis subjecit Deus orbem terrae futurum , de quo loquimur .
ወአኮ ለመላእክት ዘአግረረ ዓለመ ዘይመጽእ ዘበእንቲኣሁ ንነግር ።
For he didn’t subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.
2:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ διεμαρτύρατο δέ πού τις λέγων , τί ἐστιν ἄνθρωπος ὅτι μιμνῄσκῃ αὐτοῦ , ἢ υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου ὅτι ἐπισκέπτῃ αὐτόν ;
Testatus est autem in quodam loco quis , dicens : Quid est homo quod memor es ejus , aut filius hominis quoniam visitas eum ?
ወባሕቱ በከመ ስምዐ ኮነ መጽሐፍ ወይቤ «ምንትኑ ውእቱ ሰብእ ከመ ትዝክሮ ወምንትኑ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ከመ ተሐውጾ ።
But one has somewhere testified, saying, “What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?
2:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἠλάττωσας αὐτὸν βραχύ τι παρ’ ἀγγέλους , δόξῃ καὶ τιμῇ ἐστεφάνωσας αὐτόν ,
Minuisti eum paulo minus ab angelis : gloria et honore coronasti eum : et constituisti eum super opera manuum tuarum .
ሕቀ አሕጸጽኮ እመላእክቲከ ክብረ ወስብሐተ ከለልኮ ወሤምኮ ውስተ ኵሉ ግብረ እደዊከ ።
You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.
2:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ πάντα ὑπέταξας ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ . ἐν τῷ γὰρ ὑποτάξαι αὐτῷ τὰ πάντα οὐδὲν ἀφῆκεν αὐτῷ ἀνυπότακτον . νῦν δὲ οὔπω ὁρῶμεν αὐτῷ τὰ πάντα ὑποτεταγμένα ·
Omnia subjecisti sub pedibus ejus . In eo enim quod omnia ei subjecit , nihil dimisit non subjectum ei . Nunc autem necdum videmus omnia subjecta ei .
ወኵሎ አግረርከ ሎቱ ታሕተ እገሪሁ » ወብሂለ ቃሉሰ አግረረ ሎቱ ኵሎ እስመ አልቦ ዘኀደገ ዘኢያግረረ ሎቱ ወይእዜሰ ኢንሬኢ ከመ ኵሎ አግረረ ሎቱ ።
You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t yet see all things subjected to him.
2:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ τὸν δὲ βραχύ τι παρ’ ἀγγέλους ἠλαττωμένον βλέπομεν Ἰησοῦν διὰ τὸ πάθημα τοῦ θανάτου δόξῃ καὶ τιμῇ ἐστεφανωμένον , ὅπως χάριτι θεοῦ ὑπὲρ παντὸς γεύσηται θανάτου .
Eum autem , qui modico quam angeli minoratus est , videmus Jesum propter passionem mortis , gloria et honore coronatum : ut , gratia Dei , pro omnibus gustaret mortem .
ወዘአሕጸጾሰ ሕቀ እመላእክቲሁ ናሁ ንሬኢ ከመ ኢየሱስ ውእቱ በእንተ ሕማመ ሞቱ ክብረ ወስብሐተ ዘተከለለ እስመ በጸጋ እግዚአብሔር በእንተ ኵሉ ጥዕሞ ለሞት ።
But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.
2:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔπρεπεν γὰρ αὐτῷ , δι’ ὃν τὰ πάντα καὶ δι’ οὗ τὰ πάντα , πολλοὺς υἱοὺς εἰς δόξαν ἀγαγόντα τὸν ἀρχηγὸν τῆς σωτηρίας αὐτῶν διὰ παθημάτων τελειῶσαι .
Decebat enim eum , propter quem omnia , et per quem omnia , qui multos filios in gloriam adduxerat , auctorem salutis eorum per passionem consummare .
ወይደልዎ ለውእቱ ዘበእዴሁ ኵሉ ወዘእምኔሁ ኵሉ ወብዙኃነ ውሉደ አብአ ውስተ ስብሐት መልአከ ሕይወቶሙ ከመ ይፈጽም በሕማማት ።
For it became him, for whom are all things and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
2:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ τε γὰρ ἁγιάζων καὶ οἱ ἁγιαζόμενοι ἐξ ἑνὸς πάντες · δι’ ἣν αἰτίαν οὐκ ἐπαισχύνεται ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοὺς καλεῖν ,
Qui enim sanctificat , et qui sanctificantur , ex uno omnes . Propter quam causam non confunditur fratres eos vocare , dicens :
እስመ ውእቱ ዘቀደሶሙ ለእሙንቱ ወእለሂ ተቀደሱ ኅቡረ እምአሐዱ ወበእንተዝ ኢየኀፍር አኀውየ ብሂሎቶሙ ።
For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
2:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγων , ἀπαγγελῶ τὸ ὄνομά σου τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς μου , ἐν μέσῳ ἐκκλησίας ὑμνήσω σε ·
Nuntiabo nomen tuum fratribus meis : in medio ecclesiae laudabo te .
ወይቤ «አየድዖሙ ስመከ ለአኀውየ ወበማእከለ ማኅበር እሴብሐከ ።»
saying, “I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the congregation I will sing your praise.”
2:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ πάλιν , ἐγὼ ἔσομαι πεποιθὼς ἐπ’ αὐτῷ · καὶ πάλιν , ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καὶ τὰ παιδία ἅ μοι ἔδωκεν ὁ θεός .
Et iterum : Ego ero fidens in eum . Et iterum : Ecce ego , et pueri mei , quos dedit mihi Deus .
ወካዕበ ይቤ «ነየ አነ ወደቂቅ ዘወሀበኒ እግዚአብሔር ።»
Again, “I will put my trust in him.” Again, “Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me.”
2:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπεὶ οὖν τὰ παιδία κεκοινώνηκεν αἵματος καὶ σαρκός , καὶ αὐτὸς παραπλησίως μετέσχεν τῶν αὐτῶν , ἵνα διὰ τοῦ θανάτου καταργήσῃ τὸν τὸ κράτος ἔχοντα τοῦ θανάτου , τοῦτ’ ἔστιν τὸν διάβολον ,
Quia ergo pueri communicaverunt carni , et sanguini , et ipse similiter participavit eisdem : ut per mortem destrueret eum qui habebat mortis imperium , id est , diabolum :
ወካዕበ ይቤ አንሰ እትዌከል ቦቱ እስመ ደቂቅ ተሳተፉ በሥጋ ወደም ውእቱኒ ተሳተፎሙ በዝንቱ ወከመ ቢጾሙ ኮነ ሎሙ ከመ በሞቱ ይስዐሮ ለመልአከ ሞት ዘውእቱ ሰይጣን ።
Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
2:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀπαλλάξῃ τούτους , ὅσοι φόβῳ θανάτου διὰ παντὸς τοῦ ζῆν ἔνοχοι ἦσαν δουλίας .
et liberaret eos qui timore mortis per totam vitam obnoxii erant servituti .
ወያዕርፎሙ ለኵሎሙ እለ በፍርሀተ ሞት ተኰነኑ በኵሉ መዋዕለ ሕይወቶሙ ወተቀንዩ ለግብርናት ።
and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
2:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ γὰρ δήπου ἀγγέλων ἐπιλαμβάνεται , ἀλλὰ σπέρματος Ἀβραὰμ ἐπιλαμβάνεται .
Nusquam enim angelos apprehendit , sed semen Abrahae apprehendit .
እስመ አኮ እመላእክት ዘነሥኦ ለዘነሥኦ ዘእንበለ ዳእሙ እምዘርዐ አብርሃም ።
For most certainly, he doesn’t give help to angels, but he gives help to the offspring of Abraham.
2:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅθεν ὤφειλεν κατὰ πάντα τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ὁμοιωθῆναι , ἵνα ἐλεήμων γένηται καὶ πιστὸς ἀρχιερεὺς τὰ πρὸς τὸν θεόν , εἰς τὸ ἱλάσκεσθαι τὰς ἁμαρτίας τοῦ λαοῦ ·
Unde debuit per omnia fratribus similari , ut misericors fieret , et fidelis pontifex ad Deum , ut repropitiaret delicta populi .
ወእንበይነ ዝንቱ ርቱዕ ይትመሰሎሙ ለአኀዊሁ በኵሉ ከመ ይኩኖሙ መሓሬ ወሊቀ ካህናት ምእመነ ዘመንገለ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ይስረይ ኀጢአተ ሕዝብ ።
Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.
2:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ᾧ γὰρ πέπονθεν αὐτὸς πειρασθείς , δύναται τοῖς πειραζομένοις βοηθῆσαι .
In eo enim , in quo passus est ipse et tentatus , potens est et eis , qui tentantur , auxiliari .
እስመ በዘአመከርዎ ወአሕመምዎ ክህለ ረዲኦቶሙ ለሕሙማን ።
For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
