1:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πολυμερῶς καὶ πολυτρόπως πάλαι ὁ θεὸς λαλήσας τοῖς πατράσιν ἐν τοῖς προφήταις ἐπ’ ἐσχάτου τῶν ἡμερῶν τούτων ἐλάλησεν ἡμῖν ἐν υἱῷ ,
Multifariam , multisque modis olim Deus loquens patribus in prophetis :
በብዙኅ ነገር ወበብዙኅ መክፈልት አይድዐ እግዚአብሔር ለአበዊነ በነቢያቲሁ እምትካት ።
God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
1:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃν ἔθηκεν κληρονόμον πάντων , δι’ οὗ καὶ ἐποίησεν τοὺς αἰῶνας ·
novissime , diebus istis locutus est nobis in Filio , quem constituit haeredem universorum , per quem fecit et saecula :
ወበደኃሪሰ መዋዕል ነገረነ በወልዱ ዘረሰዮ ወራሴ ለኵሉ ወቦቱ ፈጠሮ ለኵሉ ።
has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds.
1:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃς ὢν ἀπαύγασμα τῆς δόξης καὶ χαρακτὴρ τῆς ὑποστάσεως αὐτοῦ , φέρων τε τὰ πάντα τῷ ῥήματι τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ , καθαρισμὸν τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ποιησάμενος ἐκάθισεν ἐν δεξιᾷ τῆς μεγαλωσύνης ἐν ὑψηλοῖς ,
qui cum sit splendor gloriae , et figura substantiae ejus , portansque omnia verbo virtutis suae , purgationem peccatorum faciens , sedet ad dexteram majestatis in excelsis :
ዘውእቱ ብርሃነ ስብሐቲሁ ወአምሳለ አርኣያሁ ዘይእኅዝ ኵሎ በኀይለ ቃሉ ወውእቱ በህላዌሁ ገብረ በዘያነጽሕ ኀጢአተነ ወነበረ በየማነ ዕበዩ በሰማያት ።
His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high,
1:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοσούτῳ κρείττων γενόμενος τῶν ἀγγέλων ὅσῳ διαφορώτερον παρ’ αὐτοὺς κεκληρονόμηκεν ὄνομα .
tanto melior angelis effectus , quanto differentius prae illis nomen haereditavit .
ወተለዐለ እመላእክት በዘመጠነዝ ኀየሰ ወወረሰ ስመ ዘየዐቢ እምአስማቲሆሙ ወይከብር ።
having become as much better than the angels as the more excellent name he has inherited is better than theirs.
1:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ τίνι γὰρ εἶπέν ποτε τῶν ἀγγέλων , υἱός μου εἶ σύ , ἐγὼ σήμερον γεγέννηκά σε ; καὶ πάλιν , ἐγὼ ἔσομαι αὐτῷ εἰς πατέρα , καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι εἰς υἱόν ;
Cui enim dixit aliquando angelorum : Filius meus es tu , ego hodie genui te ? Et rursum : Ego ero illi in patrem , et ipse erit mihi in filium ?
ለመኑ እመላእክቲሁ ይቤሎ እምአመ ኮነ «ወልድየ አንተ ወአነ ዮም ወለድኩከ » ወካዕበ ይቤ «አነ እከውኖ አባሁ ወውእቱኒ ይከውነኒ ወልድየ ።»
For to which of the angels did he say at any time, “You are my Son. Today I have become your father?” and again, “I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?”
1:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅταν δὲ πάλιν εἰσαγάγῃ τὸν πρωτότοκον εἰς τὴν οἰκουμένην , λέγει , καὶ προσκυνησάτωσαν αὐτῷ πάντες ἄγγελοι θεοῦ .
Et cum iterum introducit primogenitum in orbem terrae , dicit : Et adorent eum omnes angeli Dei .
ወአመ ካዕበ ፈነዎ ለበኵሩ ውስተ ዓለም ይቤ ይሰግዱ ሎቱ ኵሎሙ መላእክተ እግዚአብሔር ።
When he again brings in the firstborn into the world he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him.”
1:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ πρὸς μὲν τοὺς ἀγγέλους λέγει , ὁ ποιῶν τοὺς ἀγγέλους αὐτοῦ πνεύματα , καὶ τοὺς λειτουργοὺς αὐτοῦ πυρὸς φλόγα ·
Et ad angelos quidem dicit : Qui facit angelos suos spiritus , et ministros suos flammam ignis .
ወበእንተ መላእክቲሁሰ ይቤ ዘይሬስዮሙ ለመላእክቲሁ መንፈሰ ወለእለ ይትለአክዎ ነደ እሳት ።
Of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, and his servants a flame of fire.”
1:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ πρὸς δὲ τὸν υἱόν , ὁ θρόνος σου , ὁ θεός , εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος , καὶ ἡ ῥάβδος τῆς εὐθύτητος ῥάβδος τῆς βασιλείας σου .
Ad Filium autem : Thronus tuus Deus in saeculum saeculi : virga aequitatis , virga regni tui .
ወበእንተ ወልዱሰ ይቤ መንበርከ እግዚኦ ለዓለመ ዓለም በትረ ጽድቅ ወበትረ መንግሥትከ ።
But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your Kingdom.
1:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἠγάπησας δικαιοσύνην καὶ ἐμίσησας ἀδικίαν · διὰ τοῦτο ἔχρισέν σε ὁ θεός , ὁ θεός σου , ἔλαιον ἀγαλλιάσεως παρὰ τοὺς μετόχους σου ·
Dilexisti justitiam , et odisti iniquitatem : propterea unxit te Deus , Deus tuus , oleo exultationis prae participibus tuis .
አፍቀርከ ጽድቀ ወዐመፃ ጸላእከ ወበእንተዝ ቀብዐከ እግዚአብሔር አምላክከ ቅብዐ ትፍሥሕት ዘይኄይስ እምእለ ከማከ ።
You have loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.”
1:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καί , σὺ κατ’ ἀρχάς , κύριε , τὴν γῆν ἐθεμελίωσας , καὶ ἔργα τῶν χειρῶν σού εἰσιν οἱ οὐρανοί ·
Et : Tu in principio , Domine , terram fundasti : et opera manuum tuarum sunt caeli .
ወካዕበ ይቤ አንተ እግዚኦ አቅደምከ ሣርሮታ ለምድር ወግብረ እደዊከ እማንቱ ሰማያት ።
And, “You, Lord, in the beginning, laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens are the works of your hands.
1:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ αὐτοὶ ἀπολοῦνται , σὺ δὲ διαμένεις · καὶ πάντες ὡς ἱμάτιον παλαιωθήσονται ,
Ipsi peribunt , tu autem permanebis , et omnes ut vestimentum veterascent :
እማንቱሰ ይትኀጐላ ወአንተሰ ትሄሉ ወኵሉ ከመ ልብስ ይበሊ ወከመ ሞጣሕት ትጠውሞሙ ወይጠወሙ ።
They will perish, but you continue. They all will grow old like a garment does.
1:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὡσεὶ περιβόλαιον ἀλλάξεις αὐτούς , καὶ ἀλλαγήσονται , σὺ δὲ ὁ αὐτὸς εἶ καὶ τὰ ἔτη σου οὐκ ἐκλείψουσιν .
et velut amictum mutabis eos , et mutabuntur : tu autem idem ipse es , et anni tui non deficient .
ወአንተሰ አንተ ክመ ወዓመቲከኒ ዘኢየኀልቅ ።
You will roll them up like a mantle, and they will be changed; but you are the same. Your years won’t fail.”
1:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ πρὸς τίνα δὲ τῶν ἀγγέλων εἴρηκέν ποτε , κάθου ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ἕως ἂν θῶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποπόδιον τῶν ποδῶν σου ;
Ad quem autem angelorum dixit aliquando : Sede a dextris meis , quoadusque ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum ?
ለመኑ እመላእክቲሁ ይቤሎ እምአመ ኮነ ንበር በየማንየ እስከ አገብኦሙ ለጸላእትከ ታሕተ መከየደ እገሪከ ።
But which of the angels has he told at any time, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?”
1:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐχὶ πάντες εἰσὶν λειτουργικὰ πνεύματα εἰς διακονίαν ἀποστελλόμενα διὰ τοὺς μέλλοντας κληρονομεῖν σωτηρίαν ;
Nonne omnes sunt administratorii spiritus , in ministerium missi propter eos , qui haereditatem capient salutis ?
አኮኑ ኵሎሙ መላእክት መንፈስ እሙንቱ ወይትፌነዉ ለመልእክት በእንተ እለ ሀለዎሙ ይረሱ ሕይወተ ዘለዓለም ።
Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
