21:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων
Et factus est sermo Domini ad me , dicens :
ወነበበኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይቤለኒ ።
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
21:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ בֶּן ־אָדָ֗ם שִׂ֤ים פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ תֵּימָ֔נָה וְהַטֵּ֖ף אֶל ־דָּר֑וֹם וְהִנָּבֵ֛א אֶל ־יַ֥עַר הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה נֶֽגֶב ׃
υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ Θαιμαν καὶ ἐπίβλεψον ἐπὶ Δαρωμ καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπὶ δρυμὸν ἡγούμενον Ναγεβ
Fili hominis , pone faciem tuam ad Jerusalem , et stilla ad sanctuaria , et propheta contra humum Israël .
ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ በበይነ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ተነበይ ፡ ወአጽንዕ ፡ ገጸከ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ወነጽር ፡ መንገለ ፡ መቅደሶሙ ፡ ወተነበይ ፡ ለምድረ ፡ እስራኤል ።
“Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and preach toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel.
21:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ לְיַ֣עַר הַנֶּ֔גֶב שְׁמַ֖ע דְּבַר ־יְהֹוָ֑ה כֹּה ־אָמַ֣ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֡ה הִנְנִ֣י מַֽצִּית ־בְּךָ֣ ׀אֵ֡שׁ וְאָכְלָ֣ה בְךָ֣ כׇל ־עֵֽץ ־לַח֩ וְכׇל ־עֵ֨ץ יָבֵ֤שׁ לֹֽא ־תִכְבֶּה֙ לַהֶ֣בֶת שַׁלְהֶ֔בֶת וְנִצְרְבוּ ־בָ֥הּ כׇּל ־פָּנִ֖ים מִנֶּ֥גֶב צָפֽוֹנָה ׃
καὶ ἐρεῖς τῷ δρυμῷ Ναγεβ ἄκουε λόγον κυρίου τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀνάπτω ἐν σοὶ πῦρ καὶ καταφάγεται ἐν σοὶ πᾶν ξύλον χλωρὸν καὶ πᾶν ξύλον ξηρόν οὐ σβεσθήσεται ἡ φλὸξ ἡ ἐξαφθεῖσα καὶ κατακαυθήσεται ἐν αὐτῇ πᾶν πρόσωπον ἀπὸ ἀπηλιώτου ἕως βορρᾶ
Et dices terrae Israël : Haec dicit Dominus Deus : Ecce ego ad te , et ejiciam gladium meum de vagina sua , et occidam in te justum et impium .
ወበላ ፡ ለምድረ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ አንሥእ ፡ እዴየ ፡ ላዕሌኪ ፡ ወአወፅኣ ፡ ለመጥባሕትየ ፡ እምነ ፡ ቀቀባ ፡ ወእሤሩ ፡ እምኔኪ ፡ ጻድቀ ፡ ወኃጥአ ።
Tell the land of Israel, ‘Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against you, and will draw my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked.
21:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְרָאוּ֙ כׇּל ־בָּשָׂ֔ר כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה בִּֽעַרְתִּ֑יהָ לֹ֖א תִּכְבֶּֽה ׃
καὶ ἐπιγνώσονται πᾶσα σὰρξ ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος ἐξέκαυσα αὐτό καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται
Pro eo autem quod occidi in te justum et impium , idcirco egredietur gladius meus de vagina sua ad omnem carnem , ab austro usque ad aquilonem :
እስመ ፡ እሤሩ ፡ እምውስቴትኪ ፡ ጻድቀ ፡ ወዓማፄ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ናሁ ፡ (አንሥእ ፡ እዴየ ፡ ወ )፡ አወፅእ ፡ መጥባሕትየ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘነፍስ ፡ እምናጌብ ፡ እስከ ፡ ሰሜን ።
Seeing then that I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore my sword will go out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north.
21:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וָאֹמַ֕ר אֲהָ֖הּ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה הֵ֚מָּה אֹמְרִ֣ים לִ֔י הֲלֹ֛א מְמַשֵּׁ֥ל מְשָׁלִ֖ים הֽוּא ׃ {פ}
καὶ εἶπα μηδαμῶς κύριε κύριε αὐτοὶ λέγουσιν πρός με οὐχὶ παραβολή ἐστιν λεγομένη αὕτη
ut sciat omnis caro quia ego Dominus , eduxi gladium meum de vagina sua irrevocabilem .
ወየአምር ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘነፍስ ፡ ከመ ፡ አነ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፣፡ ወአነሣእኩ ፡ እዴየ ፡ ወኢይትመየጥ ፡ እንከ ።
All flesh will know that I, Yahweh, have drawn my sword out of its sheath. It will not return any more.”’
21:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων
Et tu , fili hominis , ingemisce in contritione lumborum , et in amaritudinibus ingemisce coram eis .
ወአንተ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ብኪ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ቅጥቃጤ ፡ ሐቌያት ፡ ወገዐር ፡ በሕማም ፡ በቅድመ ፡ አዕይንቲሆሙ ።
“Therefore sigh, you son of man. You shall sigh before their eyes with a broken heart and with bitterness.
21:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ בֶּן ־אָדָ֗ם שִׂ֤ים פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶל ־יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וְהַטֵּ֖ף אֶל ־מִקְדָּשִׁ֑ים וְהִנָּבֵ֖א אֶל ־אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου καὶ στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπίβλεψον ἐπὶ τὰ ἅγια αὐτῶν καὶ προφητεύσεις ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ισραηλ
Cumque dixerint ad te : Quare tu gemis ? dices : Pro auditu : quia venit , et tabescet omne cor , et dissolventur universae manus , et infirmabitur omnis spiritus , et per cuncta genua fluent aquae : ecce venit , et fiet , ait Dominus Deus .
ወለእመ ፡ ይቤሉከ ፡ ምንት ፡ ያበክየከ ፡ በሎሙ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ዜና ፡ ዘይመጽእ ፡ ወይትቀጠቀጥ ፡ ልበ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ወይደክም ፡ እደ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ወይትቀጻዕ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘነፍስ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ መንፈስ ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አብራክ ፡ ይበኈብኍ ፡ መግል ። ናሁ ፡ ይበጽሕ ፡ ወይከውንሂ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እግዚእ ።
It shall be, when they ask you, ‘Why do you sigh?’ that you shall say, ‘Because of the news, for it comes! Every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint, and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it comes, and it shall be done, says the Lord Yahweh.’”
21:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאָמַרְתָּ֞ לְאַדְמַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֣י אֵלַ֔יִךְ וְהוֹצֵאתִ֥י חַרְבִּ֖י מִתַּעְרָ֑הּ וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י מִמֵּ֖ךְ צַדִּ֥יק וְרָשָֽׁע ׃
καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ισραηλ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ πρὸς σὲ καὶ ἐκσπάσω τὸ ἐγχειρίδιόν μου ἐκ τοῦ κολεοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω ἐκ σοῦ ἄδικον καὶ ἄνομον
Et factus est sermo Domini ad me , dicens :
ወነበበኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይቤለኒ ።
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
21:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ יַ֛עַן אֲשֶׁר ־הִכְרַ֥תִּי מִמֵּ֖ךְ צַדִּ֣יק וְרָשָׁ֑ע לָ֠כֵ֠ן תֵּצֵ֨א חַרְבִּ֧י מִתַּעְרָ֛הּ אֶל ־כׇּל ־בָּשָׂ֖ר מִנֶּ֥גֶב צָפֽוֹן ׃
ἀνθ’ ὧν ἐξολεθρεύσω ἐκ σοῦ ἄδικον καὶ ἄνομον οὕτως ἐξελεύσεται τὸ ἐγχειρίδιόν μου ἐκ τοῦ κολεοῦ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν σάρκα ἀπὸ ἀπηλιώτου ἕως βορρᾶ
Fili hominis , propheta , et dices : Haec dicit Dominus Deus : loquere : Gladius , gladius exacutus est , et limatus :
ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ተነበይ ፡ ወበል ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ አዶናይ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወበል ፡ ኲናት ፡ ኲናት ፡ ብልኂ ፡ ወተኀብረቲ ።
“Son of man, prophesy, and say, ‘Yahweh says: “A sword! A sword! It is sharpened, and also polished.
21:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ כׇּל ־בָּשָׂ֔ר כִּ֚י אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה הוֹצֵ֥אתִי חַרְבִּ֖י מִתַּעְרָ֑הּ לֹ֥א תָשׁ֖וּב עֽוֹד ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐπιγνώσεται πᾶσα σὰρξ διότι ἐγὼ κύριος ἐξέσπασα τὸ ἐγχειρίδιόν μου ἐκ τοῦ κολεοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀποστρέψει οὐκέτι
ut caedat victimas , exacutus est : ut splendeat , limatus est : qui moves sceptrum filii mei , succidisti omne lignum .
ከመ ፡ ትርግዚ ፡ ወትቅትሊ ፡ ወብልኂ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትብርቂ ፡ ወአጥብዒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትቅትሊ ፡ ወከመ ፡ ታውድቂ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዕፀ ።
It is sharpened that it may make a slaughter. It is polished that it may be as lightning. Should we then make mirth? The rod of my son condemns every tree.
21:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֥ה בֶן ־אָדָ֖ם הֵאָנַ֑ח בְּשִׁבְר֤וֹן מׇתְנַ֙יִם֙ וּבִמְרִיר֔וּת תֵּאָנַ֖ח לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם ׃
καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου καταστέναξον ἐν συντριβῇ ὀσφύος σου καὶ ἐν ὀδύναις στενάξεις κατ’ ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν
Et dedi eum ad levigandum , ut teneatur manu : iste exacutus est gladius , et iste limatus est , ut sit in manu interficientis .
ወወሀባ ፡ ለጽኑዕ ፡ ከመ ፡ የአኀዝ ፡ በእዴሁ ። ወበልኀጥ ፡ ኲናት ፡ ወአስተዳለውዋ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይመጥዋ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደ ፡ ዘይረግዝባቲ ።
It is given to be polished, that it may be handled. The sword is sharpened. Yes, it is polished to give it into the hand of the killer.”’
21:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָה֙ כִּי ־יֹאמְר֣וּ אֵלֶ֔יךָ עַל ־מָ֖ה אַתָּ֣ה נֶאֱנָ֑ח וְאָמַרְתָּ֡ אֶל ־שְׁמוּעָ֣ה כִֽי ־בָאָ֡ה וְנָמֵ֣ס כׇּל ־לֵב֩ וְרָפ֨וּ כׇל ־יָדַ֜יִם וְכִהֲתָ֣ה כׇל ־ר֗וּחַ וְכׇל ־בִּרְכַּ֙יִם֙ תֵּלַ֣כְנָה מַּ֔יִם הִנֵּ֤ה בָאָה֙ וְנִֽהְיָ֔תָה נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν εἴπωσιν πρὸς σέ ἕνεκα τίνος σὺ στενάζεις καὶ ἐρεῖς ἐπὶ τῇ ἀγγελίᾳ διότι ἔρχεται καὶ θραυσθήσεται πᾶσα καρδία καὶ πᾶσαι χεῖρες παραλυθήσονται καὶ ἐκψύξει πᾶσα σὰρξ καὶ πᾶν πνεῦμα καὶ πάντες μηροὶ μολυνθήσονται ὑγρασίᾳ ἰδοὺ ἔρχεται καὶ ἔσται λέγει κύριος κύριος
Clama et ulula , fili hominis , quia hic factus est in populo meo , hic in cunctis ducibus Israël qui fugerant : gladio traditi sunt cum populo meo : idcirco plaude super femur ,
ወውዕ ፡ ወአውዩ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ እስመ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይከውን ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ መኳንንተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወያፈልስዎሙ ፡ በኲናት ፡ ለሕዝብየ ። በበይነ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ጥፋሕ ፡ በእደዊከ ።
Cry and wail, son of man; for it is on my people. It is on all the princes of Israel. They are delivered over to the sword with my people. Therefore beat your thigh.
21:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων
quia probatus est : et hoc , cum sceptrum subverterit , et non erit , dicit Dominus Deus .
እስመ ፡ ጸድቀት ። ወምንተ ፡ ኮኑ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ ዘርኅቁ ፡ ወኢሀለዉ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እግዚእ ።
“For there is a trial. What if even the rod that condemns will be no more?” says the Lord Yahweh.
21:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ בֶּן ־אָדָ֕ם הִנָּבֵא֙ וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר אֲדֹנָ֑י אֱמֹ֕ר חֶ֥רֶב חֶ֛רֶב הוּחַ֖דָּה וְגַם ־מְרוּטָֽה ׃
υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου προφήτευσον καὶ ἐρεῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος εἰπόν ῥομφαία ῥομφαία ὀξύνου καὶ θυμώθητι
Tu ergo , fili hominis , propheta , et percute manu ad manum : et duplicetur gladius , ac triplicetur gladius interfectorum : hic est gladius occisionis magnae , qui obstupescere eos facit
ወአንተ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ተነበይ ፡ ወጥፋሕ ፡ እዴከ ፡ በዲበ ፡ እዴከ ፡ ወአመክዕባ ፡ ለኲናት ፡ ወሠልሳ ፡ ለኲናተ ፡ አብድንት ፣፡ ይእቲ ፡ ኵናተ ፡ ቀትል ፡ ዓቢይ ። ወታደነግዖሙ ።
“You therefore, son of man, prophesy, and strike your hands together. Let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the fatally wounded. It is the sword of the great one who is fatally wounded, which enters into their rooms.
21:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ לְמַ֨עַן טְבֹ֤חַ טֶ֙בַח֙ הוּחַ֔דָּה לְמַעַן ־הֱיֵה ־לָ֥הּ בָּרָ֖ק מֹרָ֑טָּה א֣וֹ נָשִׂ֔ישׂ שֵׁ֥בֶט בְּנִ֖י מֹאֶ֥סֶת כׇּל ־עֵֽץ ׃
ὅπως σφάξῃς σφάγια ὀξύνου ὅπως γένῃ εἰς στίλβωσιν ἑτοίμη εἰς παράλυσιν σφάζε ἐξουδένει ἀπωθοῦ πᾶν ξύλον
et corde tabescere , et multiplicat ruinas . In omnibus portis eorum dedi conturbationem gladii acuti , et limati ad fulgendum , amicti ad caedem .
ከመ ፡ ይጥፋእ ፡ ልቦሙ ፡ ወይበዝኁ ፡ ድዉያን ፡ በኀበ ፡ ኲሉ ፡ አናቅጽ ፡ ወትትወሀቡ ፡ ለቀትል ፡ በኲናት ፡ ወትበርቅ ፡ ቀትል ።
I have set the threatening sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied. Ah! It is made as lightning. It is pointed for slaughter.
21:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּתֵּ֥ן אֹתָ֛הּ לְמׇרְטָ֖הֿ לִתְפֹּ֣שׂ בַּכָּ֑ף הִֽיא ־הוּחַ֤דָּה חֶ֙רֶב֙ וְהִ֣יא מֹרָ֔טָּה לָתֵ֥ת אוֹתָ֖הּ בְּיַד ־הוֹרֵֽג ׃
καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν ἑτοίμην τοῦ κρατεῖν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐξηκονήθη ῥομφαία ἔστιν ἑτοίμη τοῦ δοῦναι αὐτὴν εἰς χεῖρα ἀποκεντοῦντος
Exacuere , vade ad dexteram sive ad sinistram , quocumque faciei tuae est appetitus .
ወተመልሳ ፡ መንገለ ፡ የማን ፡ ወትበርቅ ፡ በሕቁ ፣፡ ወበመንገለ ፡ ፀጋም ፡ በኀበ ፡ ተመይጠ ፡ ገጽከ ።
Gather yourselves together. Go to the right. Set yourselves in array. Go to the left, wherever your face is set.
21:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ זְעַ֤ק וְהֵילֵל֙ בֶּן ־אָדָ֔ם כִּי ־הִיא֙ הָיְתָ֣ה בְעַמִּ֔י הִ֖יא בְּכׇל ־נְשִׂיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מְגוּרֵ֤י אֶל ־חֶ֙רֶב֙ הָי֣וּ אֶת ־עַמִּ֔י לָכֵ֖ן סְפֹ֥ק אֶל ־יָרֵֽךְ ׃
ἀνάκραγε καὶ ὀλόλυξον υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου ὅτι αὐτὴ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ λαῷ μου αὐτὴ ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἀφηγουμένοις τοῦ Ισραηλ παροικήσουσιν ἐπὶ ῥομφαίᾳ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ λαῷ μου διὰ τοῦτο κρότησον ἐπὶ τὴν χεῖρά σου
Quin et ego plaudam manu ad manum , et implebo indignationem meam : ego Dominus locutus sum .
ወአነሂ ፡ እጠፍሕ ፡ እዴየ ፡ በዲበ ፡ እዴየ ፡ ወእፌኑ ፡ መዐትየ ፡ አነ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘነበብኩ ።
I will also strike my hands together, and I will cause my wrath to rest. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”
21:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י בֹ֔חַן וּמָ֕ה אִם ־גַּם ־שֵׁ֥בֶט מֹאֶ֖סֶת לֹ֣א יִֽהְיֶ֑ה נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה ׃ {פ}
ὅτι δεδικαίωται καὶ τί εἰ καὶ φυλὴ ἀπώσθη οὐκ ἔσται λέγει κύριος κύριος
Et factus est sermo Domini ad me , dicens :
ወነበበኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይቤለኒ ።
Yahweh’s word came to me again, saying,
21:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֣ה בֶן ־אָדָ֔ם הִנָּבֵ֕א וְהַ֖ךְ כַּ֣ף אֶל ־כָּ֑ף וְתִכָּפֵ֞ל חֶ֤רֶב שְׁלִישִׁ֙תָה֙ חֶ֣רֶב חֲלָלִ֔ים הִ֗יא חֶ֚רֶב חָלָ֣ל הַגָּד֔וֹל הַחֹדֶ֖רֶת לָהֶֽם ׃
καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου προφήτευσον καὶ κρότησον χεῖρα ἐπὶ χεῖρα καὶ διπλασίασον ῥομφαίαν ἡ τρίτη ῥομφαία τραυματιῶν ἐστιν ῥομφαία τραυματιῶν ἡ μεγάλη καὶ ἐκστήσει αὐτούς
Et tu , fili hominis , pone tibi duas vias , ut veniat gladius regis Babylonis : de terra una egredientur ambae : et manu capiet conjecturam ; in capite viae civitatis conjiciet .
ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ግበር ፡ ለከ ፡ ክልኤ ፡ ፍናወ ፡ እንተ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ትበውእ ፡ ኵናቱ ፡ ለንጉሠ ፡ ባቢሎን ። ወእም፩ ፡ ብሔር ፡ ይፃኣ ፡ ክልኤሆን ፡ ወእደ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ ሀገር ፡ ወእምርእሰ ፡ ፍኖቱ ፡ ግበር ።
“Also, you son of man, appoint two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come. They both will come out of one land, and mark out a place. Mark it out at the head of the way to the city.
21:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ לְמַ֣עַן ׀ לָמ֣וּג לֵ֗ב וְהַרְבֵּה֙ הַמִּכְשֹׁלִ֔ים עַ֚ל כׇּל ־שַׁ֣עֲרֵיהֶ֔ם נָתַ֖תִּי אִבְחַת ־חָ֑רֶב אָ֛ח עֲשׂוּיָ֥ה לְבָרָ֖ק מְעֻטָּ֥ה לְטָֽבַח ׃
ὅπως θραυσθῇ ἡ καρδία καὶ πληθυνθῶσιν οἱ ἀσθενοῦντες ἐπὶ πᾶσαν πύλην αὐτῶν παραδέδονται εἰς σφάγια ῥομφαίας εὖ γέγονεν εἰς σφαγήν εὖ γέγονεν εἰς στίλβωσιν
Viam pones ut veniat gladius ad Rabbath filiorum Ammon , et ad Judam in Jerusalem munitissimam .
እንተ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ትበውእ ፡ ኲናት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ራቦት ፡ ዘደቂቀ ፡ አሞን ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ማእከላ ።
You shall appoint a way for the sword to come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the fortified.
21:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ הִתְאַחֲדִ֥י הֵימִ֖נִי הָשִׂ֣ימִי הַשְׂמִ֑ילִי אָ֖נָה פָּנַ֥יִךְ מֻעָדֽוֹת ׃
διαπορεύου ὀξύνου ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ ἐξ εὐωνύμων οὗ ἂν τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐξεγείρηται
Stetit enim rex Babylonis in bivio , in capite duarum viarum , divinationem quaerens , commiscens sagittas : interrogavit idola , exta consuluit .
እስመ ፡ ይቀውም ፡ ምጉሠ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ፍኖት ፣፡ ውስተ ፡ ጽንፈ ፡ ክልኤሆን ፡ ፍናው ፡ ከመ ፡ ያስግል ፡ ሰገለ ፡ ወከመ ፡ ያንሥእ ፡ በትሮ ፡ ወከመ ፡ ይሰአሎሙ ፡ ለሱራፊኑ ።
For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination. He shook the arrows back and forth. He consulted the teraphim. He looked in the liver.
21:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְגַם ־אֲנִ֗י אַכֶּ֤ה כַפִּי֙ אֶל ־כַּפִּ֔י וַהֲנִיחֹתִ֖י חֲמָתִ֑י אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה דִּבַּֽרְתִּי ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐγὼ δὲ κροτήσω χεῖρά μου πρὸς χεῖρά μου καὶ ἐναφήσω τὸν θυμόν μου ἐγὼ κύριος λελάληκα
Ad dexteram ejus facta est divinatio super Jerusalem , ut ponat arietes , ut aperiat os in caede , ut elevet vocem in ululatu , ut ponat arietes contra portas , ut comportet aggerem , ut aedificet munitiones .
ወኮኑ ፡ ሰገሉ ፡ መንገለ ፡ የማኑ ፡ ዘላዕለ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ከመ ፡ ይሕፅራ ፡ ወይክሥታ ፡ ወያዕቢ ፡ ቃለ ፡ በውውዓ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይክዐው ፡ መራደ ፣፡ ወከመ ፡ ይሕንጽ ፡ ዳይቀ ፡ ወይፍጽም ፡ አናቅጺሃ ፡ ወየኀብሮ ፡ መሬተ ፡ በመሬት ፡ ወየሐንጽ ፡ እንተ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ይነድፍ ።
In his right hand was the lot for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, and to build forts.
21:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων
Eritque quasi consulens frustra oraculum in oculis eorum , et sabbatorum otium imitans : ipse autem recordabitur iniquitatis ad capiendum .
ወውእቱ ፡ ያሰግል ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ሰገለ ፡ በቅድሜሆሙ ፡ ወይዜከር ፡ ፯ ፡ ሱባዔያተ ፣፡ ኃጢአቶሙ ፡ ተዘኪሮ ።
It will be to them as a false divination in their sight, who have sworn oaths to them; but he brings iniquity to memory, that they may be taken.
21:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֨ה בֶן ־אָדָ֜ם שִׂים ־לְךָ֣ ׀ שְׁנַ֣יִם דְּרָכִ֗ים לָבוֹא֙ חֶ֣רֶב מֶלֶךְ ־בָּבֶ֔ל מֵאֶ֥רֶץ אֶחָ֖ד יֵצְא֣וּ שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם וְיָ֣ד בָּרֵ֔א בְּרֹ֥אשׁ דֶּרֶךְ ־עִ֖יר בָּרֵֽא ׃
καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου διάταξον σεαυτῷ δύο ὁδοὺς τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν ῥομφαίαν βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος ἐκ χώρας μιᾶς ἐξελεύσονται αἱ δύο καὶ χεὶρ ἐν ἀρχῇ ὁδοῦ πόλεως ἐπ’ ἀρχῆς
Idcirco haec dicit Dominus Deus : Pro eo quod recordati estis iniquitatis vestrae , et revelastis praevaricationes vestras , et apparuerunt peccata vestra in omnibus cogitationibus vestris , pro eo , inquam , quod recordati estis , manu capiemini .
በበይነ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አዶናይ ፡ እስመ ፡ አዘከርክሙ ፡ ኃጢአተክሙ ፡ አመ ፡ ተከሥተ ፡ ጌጋይክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያስተርኢ ፡ አበሳክሙ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ጽልሑትክሙ ፡ ወበኵሉ ፡ ኃጢአትክሙ ፣፡ እስመ ፡ ተዘከርክሙ ፡ ዘቦቱ ፡ ትሠግሩ ።
“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Because you have caused your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear; because you have come to memory, you will be taken with the hand.
21:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ דֶּ֣רֶךְ תָּשִׂ֔ים לָב֣וֹא חֶ֔רֶב אֵ֖ת רַבַּ֣ת בְּנֵֽי ־עַמּ֑וֹן וְאֶת ־יְהוּדָ֥ה בִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בְּצוּרָֽה ׃
ὁδοῦ διατάξεις τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν ῥομφαίαν ἐπὶ Ραββαθ υἱῶν Αμμων καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν Ιουδαίαν καὶ ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς
Tu autem , profane , impie dux Israël , cujus venit dies in tempore iniquitatis praefinita :
ወአንተ ፡ ርኩስ ፡ ወጽልሕው ፡ መስፍነ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ዘበጽሐ ፡ ዕለትከ ፡ ወጊዜ ፡ ዕድሜሃ ፡ ለኃጢአትከ ።
“‘You, deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day has come, in the time of the iniquity of the end,
21:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־עָמַ֨ד מֶלֶךְ ־בָּבֶ֜ל אֶל ־אֵ֣ם הַדֶּ֗רֶךְ בְּרֹ֛אשׁ שְׁנֵ֥י הַדְּרָכִ֖ים לִקְסׇם ־קָ֑סֶם קִלְקַ֤ל בַּֽחִצִּים֙ שָׁאַ֣ל בַּתְּרָפִ֔ים רָאָ֖ה בַּכָּבֵֽד ׃
διότι στήσεται βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ἐπὶ τὴν ἀρχαίαν ὁδὸν ἐπ’ ἀρχῆς τῶν δύο ὁδῶν τοῦ μαντεύσασθαι μαντείαν τοῦ ἀναβράσαι ῥάβδον καὶ ἐπερωτῆσαι ἐν τοῖς γλυπτοῖς καὶ ἡπατοσκοπήσασθαι ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ
haec dicit Dominus Deus : Aufer cidarim , tolle coronam : nonne haec est quae humilem sublevavit , et sublimem humiliavit ?
ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ አዶናይ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አአትት ፡ መንጸፍተኪ ፡ ወአሴስል ፡ አክሊለኪ ፡ አኮኑ ፡ አንቲ ፡ እንተ ፡ አኅፀርኪዮ ፡ ለነዋኅ ፡ ወአናኅኪዮ ፡ ለኃፂር ።
the Lord Yahweh says: “Remove the turban, and take off the crown. This will not be as it was. Exalt that which is low, and humble that which is high.
21:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ בִּימִינ֞וֹ הָיָ֣ה ׀ הַקֶּ֣סֶם יְרוּשָׁלַ֗͏ִם לָשׂ֤וּם כָּרִים֙ לִפְתֹּ֤חַ פֶּה֙ בְּרֶ֔צַח לְהָרִ֥ים ק֖וֹל בִּתְרוּעָ֑ה לָשׂ֤וּם כָּרִים֙ עַל ־שְׁעָרִ֔ים לִשְׁפֹּ֥ךְ סֹלְלָ֖ה לִבְנ֥וֹת דָּיֵֽק ׃
ἐγένετο τὸ μαντεῖον ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ τοῦ βαλεῖν χάρακα τοῦ διανοῖξαι στόμα ἐν βοῇ ὑψῶσαι φωνὴν μετὰ κραυγῆς τοῦ βαλεῖν χάρακα ἐπὶ τὰς πύλας αὐτῆς καὶ βαλεῖν χῶμα καὶ οἰκοδομῆσαι βελοστάσεις
Iniquitatem , iniquitatem , iniquitatem ponam eam : et hoc non factum est , donec veniret cujus est judicium , et tradam ei .
ጌጋየ ፡ ወአበሳ ፡ ወኃጢአተ ፡ እሬስዮ ፡ ላቲ ፡ ወይእቲኒ ፡ ኢኮነት ፡ ከመዝ ፡ እስከ ፡ ይመጽእ ፡ እንተ ፡ ይደልዎ ፡ ኵነኔ ፡ ወአገብኦ ።
I will overturn, overturn, overturn it. This also will be no more, until he comes whose right it is; and I will give it.”’
21:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֨ה לָהֶ֤ם (כקסום ) [כִּקְסׇם ־]שָׁוְא֙ בְּעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם שְׁבֻעֵ֥י שְׁבֻע֖וֹת לָהֶ֑ם וְהוּא ־מַזְכִּ֥יר עָוֺ֖ן לְהִתָּפֵֽשׂ ׃ {ס}
καὶ αὐτὸς αὐτοῖς ὡς μαντευόμενος μαντείαν ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν καὶ αὐτὸς ἀναμιμνῄσκων ἀδικίας αὐτοῦ μνησθῆναι
Et tu , fili hominis , propheta , et dic : Haec dicit Dominus Deus ad filios Ammon , et ad opprobrium eorum : et dices : Mucro , mucro , evaginate ad occidendum : limate ut interficias et fulgeas :
ወአንተ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ተነበይ ፡ ወበል ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ አሞን ፡ በእንተ ፡ ጽዕለቶሙ ፡ ወበል ፡ ሰይፍ ፣፡ ሰይፍ ፡ ተመልሐት ፡ ለቀቲል ፡ ወመልሕዋ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትቅትል ፡ ወታኅልቅ ፡ ተንሥኢ ፡ ወምልሲ ።
“You, son of man, prophesy and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says this concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach: “A sword! A sword is drawn! It is polished for the slaughter, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;
21:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּה ־אָמַר֮ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִה֒ יַ֗עַן הַזְכַּרְכֶם֙ עֲוֺ֣נְכֶ֔ם בְּהִגָּל֣וֹת פִּשְׁעֵיכֶ֗ם לְהֵֽרָאוֹת֙ חַטֹּ֣אותֵיכֶ֔ם בְּכֹ֖ל עֲלִילֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם יַ֚עַן הִזָּ֣כֶרְכֶ֔ם בַּכַּ֖ף תִּתָּפֵֽשׂוּ ׃ {פ}
διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀνθ’ ὧν ἀνεμνήσατε τὰς ἀδικίας ὑμῶν ἐν τῷ ἀποκαλυφθῆναι τὰς ἀσεβείας ὑμῶν τοῦ ὁραθῆναι ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ἀσεβείαις ὑμῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἐπιτηδεύμασιν ὑμῶν ἀνθ’ ὧν ἀνεμνήσατε ἐν τούτοις ἁλώσεσθε
cum tibi viderentur vana , et divinarentur mendacia , ut dareris super colla vulneratorum impiorum , quorum venit dies in tempore iniquitatis praefinita .
በራእይ ፡ ዘከንቱ ፡ ወበሰገልኪ ፡ ዘሐሰት ፡ ከመ ፡ ይእስሩኪ ፡ በክሳዶሙ ፡ ለቅቱላን ፡ ኃጥኣን ፡ በጽሐት ፡ ዕለቶሙ ፡ በጊዜ ፡ ዕድሜሃ ፡ ለኃጢአቶሙ ።
while they see for you false visions, while they divine lies to you, to lay you on the necks of the wicked who are deadly wounded, whose day has come in the time of the iniquity of the end.
21:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּה֙ חָלָ֣ל רָשָׁ֔ע נְשִׂ֖יא יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁר ־בָּ֣א יוֹמ֔וֹ בְּעֵ֖ת עֲוֺ֥ן קֵֽץ ׃ {ס}
καὶ σύ βέβηλε ἄνομε ἀφηγούμενε τοῦ Ισραηλ οὗ ἥκει ἡ ἡμέρα ἐν καιρῷ ἀδικίας πέρας
Revertere ad vaginam tuam , in loco in quo creatus es : in terra nativitatis tuae judicabo te .
ትሰወጥ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ቀቀባ ፡ ወኢትኅደር ፡ ውስተዝ ፡ ብሔር ፡ በብሔርከ ፡ እኴንነከ ።
Cause it to return into its sheath. In the place where you were created, in the land of your birth, I will judge you.
21:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה הָסִיר֙ הַמִּצְנֶ֔פֶת וְהָרִ֖ים הָעֲטָרָ֑ה זֹ֣את לֹא ־זֹ֔את הַשָּׁפָ֣לָה הַגְבֵּ֔הַּ וְהַגָּבֹ֖הַּ הַשְׁפִּֽיל ׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀφείλου τὴν κίδαριν καὶ ἐπέθου τὸν στέφανον αὕτη οὐ τοιαύτη ἔσται ἐταπείνωσας τὸ ὑψηλὸν καὶ τὸ ταπεινὸν ὕψωσας
Et effundam super te indignationem meam ; in igne furoris mei sufflabo in te : daboque te in manus hominum insipientium , et fabricantium interitum .
ወእክዑ ፡ መዐትየ ፡ ላዕሌከ ፡ በእሳተ ፡ መቅሰፍትየ ፡ እነፍኅ ፡ ላዕሌከ ፡ ወአገብአከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደ ፡ ዕደው ፡ ፀር ፡ እለ ፡ ያማስኑ ፡ ወይቀትሉ ።
I will pour out my indignation on you. I will blow on you with the fire of my wrath. I will deliver you into the hand of brutish men, skillful to destroy.
21:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ עַוָּ֥ה עַוָּ֖ה עַוָּ֣ה אֲשִׂימֶ֑נָּה גַּם ־זֹאת֙ לֹ֣א הָיָ֔ה עַד ־בֹּ֛א אֲשֶׁר ־ל֥וֹ הַמִּשְׁפָּ֖ט וּנְתַתִּֽיו ׃ {פ}
ἀδικίαν ἀδικίαν θήσομαι αὐτήν οὐδ’ αὕτη τοιαύτη ἔσται ἕως οὗ ἔλθῃ ᾧ καθήκει καὶ παραδώσω αὐτῷ
Igni eris cibus ; sanguis tuus erit in medio terrae ; oblivioni traderis : quia ego Dominus locutus sum .
ወያውዕዩከ ፡ ወይትከዐው ፡ ደምከ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ብሔርከ ። ወኢይዜከሩከ ፡ እስመ ፡ አነ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ነበብኩ ።
You will be for fuel to the fire. Your blood will be in the middle of the land. You will be remembered no more; for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”’”
21:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֣ה בֶן ־אָדָ֗ם הִנָּבֵ֤א וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה אֶל ־בְּנֵ֥י עַמּ֖וֹן וְאֶל ־חֶרְפָּתָ֑ם וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ חֶ֣רֶב חֶ֤רֶב פְּתוּחָה֙ לְטֶ֣בַח מְרוּטָ֔ה לְהָכִ֖יל לְמַ֥עַן בָּרָֽק ׃
καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου προφήτευσον καὶ ἐρεῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Αμμων καὶ πρὸς τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐρεῖς ῥομφαία ῥομφαία ἐσπασμένη εἰς σφάγια καὶ ἐσπασμένη εἰς συντέλειαν ἐγείρου ὅπως στίλβῃς
— — You will be for fuel to the fire. Your blood will be in the middle of the land. You will be remembered no more; for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”’”
21:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ בַּחֲז֥וֹת לָךְ֙ שָׁ֔וְא בִּקְסׇם ־לָ֖ךְ כָּזָ֑ב לָתֵ֣ת אוֹתָ֗ךְ אֶֽל ־צַוְּארֵי֙ חַֽלְלֵ֣י רְשָׁעִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר ־בָּ֣א יוֹמָ֔ם בְּעֵ֖ת עֲוֺ֥ן קֵֽץ ׃
ἐν τῇ ὁράσει σου τῇ ματαίᾳ καὶ ἐν τῷ μαντεύεσθαί σε ψευδῆ τοῦ παραδοῦναί σε ἐπὶ τραχήλους τραυματιῶν ἀνόμων ὧν ἥκει ἡ ἡμέρα ἐν καιρῷ ἀδικίας πέρας
— — You will be for fuel to the fire. Your blood will be in the middle of the land. You will be remembered no more; for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”’”
21:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ הָשַׁ֖ב אֶל ־תַּעְרָ֑הּ בִּמְק֧וֹם אֲשֶׁר ־נִבְרֵ֛את בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מְכֻרוֹתַ֖יִךְ אֶשְׁפֹּ֥ט אֹתָֽךְ ׃
ἀπόστρεφε μὴ καταλύσῃς ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τούτῳ ᾧ γεγέννησαι ἐν τῇ γῇ τῇ ἰδίᾳ σου κρινῶ σε
— — You will be for fuel to the fire. Your blood will be in the middle of the land. You will be remembered no more; for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”’”
21:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשָׁפַכְתִּ֤י עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ זַעְמִ֔י בְּאֵ֥שׁ עֶבְרָתִ֖י אָפִ֣יחַ עָלָ֑יִךְ וּנְתַתִּ֗יךְ בְּיַד֙ אֲנָשִׁ֣ים בֹּעֲרִ֔ים חָרָשֵׁ֖י מַשְׁחִֽית ׃
καὶ ἐκχεῶ ἐπὶ σὲ ὀργήν μου ἐν πυρὶ ὀργῆς μου ἐμφυσήσω ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ παραδώσω σε εἰς χεῖρας ἀνδρῶν βαρβάρων τεκταινόντων διαφθοράν
— — You will be for fuel to the fire. Your blood will be in the middle of the land. You will be remembered no more; for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”’”
21:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָאֵ֤שׁ תִּֽהְיֶה֙ לְאׇכְלָ֔ה דָּמֵ֥ךְ יִהְיֶ֖ה בְּת֣וֹךְ הָאָ֑רֶץ לֹ֣א תִזָּכֵ֔רִי כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה דִּבַּֽרְתִּי ׃ {פ}
ἐν πυρὶ ἔσῃ κατάβρωμα τὸ αἷμά σου ἔσται ἐν μέσῳ τῆς γῆς σου οὐ μὴ γένηταί σου μνεία διότι ἐγὼ κύριος λελάληκα
— — You will be for fuel to the fire. Your blood will be in the middle of the land. You will be remembered no more; for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”’”
