1:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Παῦλος ἀπόστολος Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ διὰ θελήματος θεοῦ τοῖς ἁγίοις τοῖς οὖσιν [ἐν Ἐφέσῳ ] καὶ πιστοῖς ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ .
Paulus Apostolus Jesu Christi per voluntatem Dei , omnibus sanctis qui sunt Ephesi , et fidelibus in Christo Jesu .
እምጳውሎስ ሐዋርያሁ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በፈቃደ እግዚአብሔር ለቅዱሳን እለ በኤፌሶን ወምእመናን በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:
1:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ χάρις ὑμῖν καὶ εἰρήνη ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν καὶ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ .
Gratia vobis , et pax a Deo Patre nostro , et Domino Jesu Christo .
ሰላም ለክሙ ወጸጋ እግዚአብሔር አቡነ ወእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ Εὐλογητὸς ὁ θεὸς καὶ πατὴρ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ , ὁ εὐλογήσας ἡμᾶς ἐν πάσῃ εὐλογίᾳ πνευματικῇ ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοις ἐν Χριστῷ ,
Benedictus Deus et Pater Domini nostri Jesu Christi , qui benedixit nos in omni benedictione spirituali in caelestibus in Christo ,
ይትባረክ እግዚአብሔር አቡሁ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ዘባረከነ በኵሉ በረከተ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ዘበሰማያት በክርስቶስ ኢየሱስ ።
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
1:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καθὼς ἐξελέξατο ἡμᾶς ἐν αὐτῷ πρὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου , εἶναι ἡμᾶς ἁγίους καὶ ἀμώμους κατενώπιον αὐτοῦ ἐν ἀγάπῃ ,
sicut elegit nos in ipso ante mundi constitutionem , ut essemus sancti et immaculati in conspectu ejus in caritate .
በከመ ኀረየነ ሎቱ እምቅድመ ይትፈጠር ዓለም ከመ ይረስየነ ቅዱሳነ ወንጹሓነ በቅድሜሁ ዘእንበለ ነውር በተፋቅሮ ።
even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love,
1:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ προορίσας ἡμᾶς εἰς υἱοθεσίαν διὰ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ εἰς αὐτόν , κατὰ τὴν εὐδοκίαν τοῦ θελήματος αὐτοῦ ,
Qui praedestinavit nos in adoptionem filiorum per Jesum Christum in ipsum : secundum propositum voluntatis suae ,
ወሠርዐነ ትርሲተ ወልዱ በእንተ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በከመ ሥምረተ ፈቃዱ ።
having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,
1:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰς ἔπαινον δόξης τῆς χάριτος αὐτοῦ ἧς ἐχαρίτωσεν ἡμᾶς ἐν τῷ ἠγαπημένῳ ,
in laudem gloriae gratiae suae , in qua gratificavit nos in dilecto Filio suo .
ለክብር ወለስብሐት በጸጋሁ ዘጸገወነ በወልዱ ፍቁሩ ።
to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved.
1:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ᾧ ἔχομεν τὴν ἀπολύτρωσιν διὰ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτοῦ , τὴν ἄφεσιν τῶν παραπτωμάτων , κατὰ τὸ πλοῦτος τῆς χάριτος αὐτοῦ ,
In quo habemus redemptionem per sanguinem ejus , remissionem peccatorum secundum divitias gratiae ejus ,
ዘበእንቲኣሁ ረከብነ መድኀኒተ ወተኀድገ ለነ ኀጢአትነ በደሙ በከመ ብዕለ ጸጋሁ ።
In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace
1:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἧς ἐπερίσσευσεν εἰς ἡμᾶς ἐν πάσῃ σοφίᾳ καὶ φρονήσει
quae superabundavit in nobis in omni sapientia et prudentia :
ዘአፈድፈደ ላዕሌነ በኵሉ ጥበብ ወምክር ።
which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
1:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ γνωρίσας ἡμῖν τὸ μυστήριον τοῦ θελήματος αὐτοῦ , κατὰ τὴν εὐδοκίαν αὐτοῦ ἣν προέθετο ἐν αὐτῷ
ut notum faceret nobis sacramentum voluntatis suae , secundum beneplacitum ejus , quod proposuit in eo ,
ወአርአየነ ምክረ ፈቃዱ በከመ ሥምረቱ ወሠርዐነ በእንቲኣሁ ።
making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him
1:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰς οἰκονομίαν τοῦ πληρώματος τῶν καιρῶν , ἀνακεφαλαιώσασθαι τὰ πάντα ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ , τὰ ἐπὶ τοῖς οὐρανοῖς καὶ τὰ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς · ἐν αὐτῷ ,
in dispensatione plenitudinis temporum , instaurare omnia in Christo , quae in caelis et quae in terra sunt , in ipso ;
ወዐቀመ በዘይበጽሕ ዕድሜሁ ከመ ይትሐደስ ኵሉ ዘበሰማይ ወዘበምድር ።
to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in him.
1:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ᾧ καὶ ἐκληρώθημεν προορισθέντες κατὰ πρόθεσιν τοῦ τὰ πάντα ἐνεργοῦντος κατὰ τὴν βουλὴν τοῦ θελήματος αὐτοῦ ,
in quo etiam et nos sorte vocati sumus praedestinati secundum propositum ejus qui operatur omnia secundum consilium voluntatis suae :
ወከፈለነ በዘሠርዐነ እግዚአብሔር ወረድአነ በከመ ምክረ ፈቃዱ ።
We were also assigned an inheritance in him, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will,
1:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰς τὸ εἶναι ἡμᾶς εἰς ἔπαινον δόξης αὐτοῦ τοὺς προηλπικότας ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ ·
ut simus in laudem gloriae ejus nos , qui ante speravimus in Christo ;
ከመ የሀበነ ምክረ ወስብሐተ ለእለ ተወከልነ በክርስቶስ ኢየሱስ ።
to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ.
1:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ᾧ καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀκούσαντες τὸν λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας , τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς σωτηρίας ὑμῶν , ἐν ᾧ καὶ πιστεύσαντες ἐσφραγίσθητε τῷ πνεύματι τῆς ἐπαγγελίας τῷ ἁγίῳ ,
in quo et vos , cum audissetis verbum veritatis , Evangelium salutis vestrae , in quo et credentes signati estis Spiritu promissionis Sancto ,
ወአንትሙሂ ሰማዕክሙ ቃለ ጽድቅ ትምህርተ ሕይወትክሙ ወአመንክሙ ወዐተቡክሙ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ዘአሰፈወ ።
In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation—in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
1:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅς ἐστιν ἀρραβὼν τῆς κληρονομίας ἡμῶν , εἰς ἀπολύτρωσιν τῆς περιποιήσεως , εἰς ἔπαινον τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ .
qui est pignus haereditatis nostrae , in redemptionem acquisitionis , in laudem gloriae ipsius .
ዘውእቱ ዐረቦነ ርስትነ ወመድኀኒተ ሕይወትነ በክብረ ስብሐቲሁ ።
who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.
1:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ Διὰ τοῦτο κἀγώ , ἀκούσας τὴν καθ’ ὑμᾶς πίστιν ἐν τῷ κυρίῳ Ἰησοῦ καὶ τὴν ἀγάπην τὴν εἰς πάντας τοὺς ἁγίους ,
Propterea et ego audiens fidem vestram , quae est in Domino Jesu , et dilectionem in omnes sanctos ,
ወበእንተዝ አነሂ ሰሚዕየ ሃይማኖተክሙ በእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ወዘከመ ታፈቅርዎሙ ለኵሎሙ ቅዱሳን ።
For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you and the love which you have toward all the saints,
1:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ παύομαι εὐχαριστῶν ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν μνείαν ποιούμενος ἐπὶ τῶν προσευχῶν μου ,
non cesso gratias agens pro vobis , memoriam vestri faciens in orationibus meis :
ኢያንተጉ አእኵቶ በእንቲኣክሙ ወተዘክሮተክሙ በጸሎትየ ።
don’t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
1:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἵνα ὁ θεὸς τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ , ὁ πατὴρ τῆς δόξης , δώῃ ὑμῖν πνεῦμα σοφίας καὶ ἀποκαλύψεως ἐν ἐπιγνώσει αὐτοῦ ,
ut Deus , Domini nostri Jesu Christi Pater gloriae , det vobis spiritum sapientiae et revelationis in agnitione ejus ,
ከመ እግዚአብሔር አምላኩ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ አበ ስብሐት የሀብክሙ መንፈሰ ጥበብ ወይክሥት ለክሙ ታእምሩ ።
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,
1:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ πεφωτισμένους τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς τῆς καρδίας ὑμῶν εἰς τὸ εἰδέναι ὑμᾶς τίς ἐστιν ἡ ἐλπὶς τῆς κλήσεως αὐτοῦ , τίς ὁ πλοῦτος τῆς δόξης τῆς κληρονομίας αὐτοῦ ἐν τοῖς ἁγίοις ,
illuminatos oculos cordis vestri , ut sciatis quae sit spes vocationis ejus , et quae divitiae gloriae haereditatis ejus in sanctis ,
ወያብርህ አዕይንተ አልባቢክሙ ወታእምሩ ምንት ውእቱ ተስፋሁ ለጽዋዔክሙ ወምንት ውእቱ ብዕለ ስብሐተ ርስቶሙ ለቅዱሳን ።
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
1:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τί τὸ ὑπερβάλλον μέγεθος τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ εἰς ἡμᾶς τοὺς πιστεύοντας κατὰ τὴν ἐνέργειαν τοῦ κράτους τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ
et quae sit supereminens magnitudo virtutis ejus in nos , qui credimus secundum operationem potentiae virtutis ejus ,
ወምንት ውእቱ ፍድፋዴ ጽንዐ ኀይሉ ዘላዕሌነ ለእለ ነአምን በከመ ዕበየ ኀይሉ ዘገብረ በክርስቶስ ።
and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might
1:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἣν ἐνήργηκεν ἐν τῷ Χριστῷ ἐγείρας αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν καὶ καθίσας αὐτὸν ἐν δεξιᾷ αὐτοῦ ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοις
quam operatus est in Christo , suscitans illum a mortuis , et constituens ad dexteram suam in caelestibus :
ዘአንሥኦ እሙታን ወአንበሮ በየማኑ ውስተ ሰማያት ።
which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,
1:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὑπεράνω πάσης ἀρχῆς καὶ ἐξουσίας καὶ δυνάμεως καὶ κυριότητος καὶ παντὸς ὀνόματος ὀνομαζομένου οὐ μόνον ἐν τῷ αἰῶνι τούτῳ ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐν τῷ μέλλοντι ·
supra omnem principatum , et potestatem , et virtutem , et dominationem , et omne nomen , quod nominatur non solum in hoc saeculo , sed etiam in futuro .
መልዕልተ ኵሉ መላእክት ወመኳንንት ወኀይላት ወአጋእዝት ወኵሉ ስም ዘይሰመይ ወአኮ በዝ ዓለም ባሕቲቱ አላ በዘይመጽእኒ ዓለም ።
far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.
1:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ πάντα ὑπέταξεν ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ , καὶ αὐτὸν ἔδωκεν κεφαλὴν ὑπὲρ πάντα τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ ,
Et omnia subjecit sub pedibus ejus : et ipsum dedit caput supra omnem ecclesiam ,
ወኵሎ አግረረ ሎቱ ታሕተ እገሪሁ ወኪያሁ ዘውእቱ መልዕልተ ኵሉ ረሰዮ ርእሰ ለቤተ ክርስቲያን
He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly,
1:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἥτις ἐστὶν τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ , τὸ πλήρωμα τοῦ τὰ πάντα ἐν πᾶσιν πληρουμένου .
quae est corpus ipsius , et plenitudo ejus , qui omnia in omnibus adimpletur .
እንተ ይእቲ ሥጋሁ ወውእቱ ፍጻሜሁ ለኵሉ ወይፌጽም ኵሎ በኵሉ ።
which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
