16:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Κατήντησεν δὲ εἰς Δέρβην καὶ εἰς Λύστραν . καὶ ἰδοὺ μαθητής τις ἦν ἐκεῖ ὀνόματι Τιμόθεος , υἱὸς γυναικὸς Ἰουδαίας πιστῆς πατρὸς δὲ Ἕλληνος ,
Pervenit autem Derben et Lystram . Et ecce discipulus quidam erat ibi nomine Timotheus , filius mulieris Judaeae fidelis , patre gentili .
ወበጽሐ ሀገረ ደርቤን ወልስጥራን ወረከበ አሐደ ረድአ ዘስሙ ጢሞቴዎስ ወእሙሰ አይሁዳዊት ወአምነት ወአቡሁሰ አረማዊ ።
He came to Derbe and Lystra; and behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewess who believed, but his father was a Greek.
16:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃς ἐμαρτυρεῖτο ὑπὸ τῶν ἐν Λύστροις καὶ Ἰκονίῳ ἀδελφῶν .
Huic testimonium bonum reddebant qui in Lystris erant et Iconio fratres .
ወይንእድዎ ኵሉ ቢጹ እለ በልስጥራን ወደርቤን ወኢቆንዮን ።
The brothers who were at Lystra and Iconium gave a good testimony about him.
16:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦτον ἠθέλησεν ὁ Παῦλος σὺν αὐτῷ ἐξελθεῖν , καὶ λαβὼν περιέτεμεν αὐτὸν διὰ τοὺς Ἰουδαίους τοὺς ὄντας ἐν τοῖς τόποις ἐκείνοις , ᾔδεισαν γὰρ ἅπαντες τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ ὅτι Ἕλλην ὑπῆρχεν .
Hunc voluit Paulus secum proficisci : et assumens circumcidit eum propter Judaeos qui erant in illis locis . Sciebant enim omnes quod pater ejus erat gentilis .
ወአፍቀረ ጳውሎስ ይንሥኦ ምስሌሁ ወይሑር ወነሥኦ ወገዘሮ በእንተ አይሁድ እለ ውስተ ውእቱ ብሔር እስመ የአምርዎ ኵሎሙ ከመ አረማዊ አቡሁ ።
Paul wanted to have him go out with him, and he took and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
16:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ὡς δὲ διεπορεύοντο τὰς πόλεις , παρεδίδοσαν αὐτοῖς φυλάσσειν τὰ δόγματα τὰ κεκριμένα ὑπὸ τῶν ἀποστόλων καὶ πρεσβυτέρων τῶν ἐν Ἱεροσολύμοις .
Cum autem pertransirent civitates , tradebant eis custodiri dogmata quae erant decreta ab Apostolis et senioribus qui erant Jerosolymis .
ወሖሩ አህጉረ ወመሀርዎሙ ሥርዐተ ሐዋርያት ዘአዘዙ ኀቢሮሙ በኢየሩሳሌም ምስለ ቀሲሳን ።
As they went on their way through the cities, they delivered the decrees to them to keep which had been ordained by the apostles and elders who were at Jerusalem.
16:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ Αἱ μὲν οὖν ἐκκλησίαι ἐστερεοῦντο τῇ πίστει καὶ ἐπερίσσευον τῷ ἀριθμῷ καθ’ ἡμέραν .
Et ecclesiae quidem confirmabantur fide , et abundabunt numero quotidie .
ወጸንዑ አብያተ ክርስቲያናት በሃይማኖት ወእንተ ጸብሐት ይበዝኁ ሕዝብ ።
So the assemblies were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.
16:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ διῆλθον δὲ τὴν Φρυγίαν καὶ Γαλατικὴν χώραν , κωλυθέντες ὑπὸ τοῦ ἁγίου πνεύματος λαλῆσαι τὸν λόγον ἐν τῇ Ἀσίᾳ ·
Transeuntes autem Phrygiam et Galatiae regionem , vetati sunt a Spiritu Sancto loqui verbum Dei in Asia .
ወሖሩ ብሔረ ፍርግያ ወብሔረ ገላትያ ወከልኦሙ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ኢይንግሩ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር በእስያ ።
When they had gone through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.
16:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐλθόντες δὲ κατὰ τὴν Μυσίαν ἐπείραζον εἰς τὴν Βιθυνίαν πορευθῆναι , καὶ οὐκ εἴασεν αὐτοὺς τὸ πνεῦμα Ἰησοῦ ·
Cum venissent autem in Mysiam , tentabant ire in Bithyniam : et non permisit eos Spiritus Jesu .
ወበጺሖሙ ሚስያ ፈቀዱ ይሑሩ ቢታንያ ወኢያብሖሙ መንፈሱ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ።
When they had come opposite Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit didn’t allow them.
16:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ παρελθόντες δὲ τὴν Μυσίαν κατέβησαν εἰς Τρῳάδα .
Cum autem pertransissent Mysiam , descenderunt Troadem :
ወኀሊፎሙ እምነ ሚስያ ወረዱ ጢሮአዳ ።
Passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.
16:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὅραμα διὰ νυκτὸς τῷ Παύλῳ ὤφθη , ἀνὴρ Μακεδών τις ἦν ἑστὼς καὶ παρακαλῶν αὐτὸν καὶ λέγων , διαβὰς εἰς Μακεδονίαν βοήθησον ἡμῖν .
et visio per noctem Paulo ostensa est : vir Macedo quidam erat stans et deprecans eum , et dicens : Transiens in Macedoniam , adjuva nos .
ወአስተርአዮ ለጳውሎስ በሌሊት ብእሲ መቄዶናዊ ይቀውም ወያስተበቍዖ ወይቤሎ ኅልፍ እንተ መንገሌነ ለመቄዶንያ ወነዓ ርድአነ ።
A vision appeared to Paul in the night. There was a man of Macedonia standing, begging him and saying, “Come over into Macedonia and help us.”
16:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ τὸ ὅραμα εἶδεν , εὐθέως ἐζητήσαμεν ἐξελθεῖν εἰς Μακεδονίαν , συμβιβάζοντες ὅτι προσκέκληται ἡμᾶς ὁ θεὸς εὐαγγελίσασθαι αὐτούς .
Ut autem visum vidit , statim quaesivimus proficisci in Macedoniam , certi facti quod vocasset nos Deus evangelizare eis .
ወርእዮ ዘንተ ፈቀድነ ንሑር እንተ መቄዶንያ እስመ መሰለነ ዘጸውዐነ እግዚአብሔር ንምሀሮሙ ሃይማኖተ ።
When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go out to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the Good News to them.
16:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀναχθέντες δὲ ἀπὸ Τρῳάδος εὐθυδρομήσαμεν εἰς Σαμοθρᾴκην , τῇ δὲ ἐπιούσῃ εἰς Νέαν πόλιν ,
Navigantes autem a Troade , recto cursu venimus Samothraciam , et sequenti die Neapolim :
ወወፂአነ እምጢሮአዳ አፍጠነ ወበጻሕነ ሰሞትራቄ ወበሳኒታ ሖርነ ሀገረ እንተ ስማ ናጱሌ ።
Setting sail therefore from Troas, we made a straight course to Samothrace, and the day following to Neapolis;
16:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ κἀκεῖθεν εἰς Φιλίππους , ἥτις ἐστὶν πρώτη τῆς μερίδος Μακεδονίας πόλις , κολωνία . ἦμεν δὲ ἐν ταύτῃ τῇ πόλει διατρίβοντες ἡμέρας τινάς .
et inde Philippos , quae est prima partis Macedoniae civitas , colonia . Eramus autem in hac urbe diebus aliquot , conferentes .
ወእምህየ ፊልጵስዩስ እንተ ይእቲ ቀዳሚተ መቄዶንያ ወይእቲ ሀገረ ቆሎንያ ወነበርነ በይእቲ ሀገር ኅዳጠ መዋዕለ ።
and from there to Philippi, which is a city of Macedonia, the foremost of the district, a Roman colony. We were staying some days in this city.
16:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ τῇ τε ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων ἐξήλθομεν ἔξω τῆς πύλης παρὰ ποταμὸν οὗ ἐνομίζομεν προσευχὴν εἶναι , καὶ καθίσαντες ἐλαλοῦμεν ταῖς συνελθούσαις γυναιξίν .
Die autem sabbatorum egressi sumus foras portam juxta flumen , ubi videbatur oratio esse : et sedentes loquebamur mulieribus quae convenerant .
ወወፃእነ በዕለተ ሰንበት እምአንቀጸ ሀገር መንገለ ድንጋገ ፈለግ እስመ ቤተ ጸሎት ህየ ሀሎ ወነበርነ ወአኀዝነ ከመ ንንግር ለአንስት እለ ተጋብኣ ህየ ።
On the Sabbath day we went outside of the city by a riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had come together.
16:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ καί τις γυνὴ ὀνόματι Λυδία , πορφυρόπωλις πόλεως Θυατείρων σεβομένη τὸν θεόν , ἤκουεν , ἧς ὁ κύριος διήνοιξεν τὴν καρδίαν προσέχειν τοῖς λαλουμένοις ὑπὸ Παύλου .
Et quaedam mulier nomine Lydia , purpuraria civitatis Thyatirenorum , colens Deum , audivit : cujus Dominus aperuit cor intendere his quae dicebantur a Paulo .
ወሀለወት ማእከሎን አሐቲ ብእሲት ሠያጢተ አጌ እንተ ሀገረ ትያጥሮን ፈራሂተ እግዚአብሔር ወታጸምዕ ትምህርቶ ለጳውሎስ እስመ ከሠተ እግዚአብሔር እዝና ወስማ ልድያ ።
A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one who worshiped God, heard us. The Lord opened her heart to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul.
16:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ ἐβαπτίσθη καὶ ὁ οἶκος αὐτῆς , παρεκάλεσεν λέγουσα , εἰ κεκρίκατέ με πιστὴν τῷ κυρίῳ εἶναι , εἰσελθόντες εἰς τὸν οἶκόν μου μένετε · καὶ παρεβιάσατο ἡμᾶς .
Cum autem baptizata esset , et domus ejus , deprecata est , dicens : Si judicastis me fidelem Domino esse , introite in domum meam , et manete . Et coëgit nos .
ወተጠምቀት ምስለ ኵሉ ሰብኣ ወአስተብቍዐተነ ወትቤለነ ለእመሁ ረሰይክሙኒ መሃይምተ ለእግዚአብሔር ባኡ ቤትየ ወኅድሩ ወአገበረተነ ብዙኀ ።
When she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.
16:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐγένετο δὲ πορευομένων ἡμῶν εἰς τὴν προσευχὴν παιδίσκην τινὰ ἔχουσαν πνεῦμα πύθωνα ὑπαντῆσαι ἡμῖν , ἥτις ἐργασίαν πολλὴν παρεῖχεν τοῖς κυρίοις αὐτῆς μαντευομένη .
Factum est autem euntibus nobis ad orationem , puellam quamdam habentem spiritum pythonem obviare nobis , quae quaestum magnum praestabat dominis suis divinando .
ወእንዘ ነሐውር ለጸሎት ረከበተነ አሐቲ ወለት እንተ ይትዋረዳ ጋኔን ወታገብእ ለአጋእዝቲሃ ብዙኀ ብነተ እምዘ ትነሥእ ሐፍሥ ።
As we were going to prayer, a certain girl having a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much gain by fortune telling.
16:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ αὕτη κατακολουθοῦσα τῷ Παύλῳ καὶ ἡμῖν ἔκραζεν λέγουσα , οὗτοι οἱ ἄνθρωποι δοῦλοι τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου εἰσίν , οἵτινες καταγγέλλουσιν ὑμῖν ὁδὸν σωτηρίας .
Haec subsecuta Paulum et nos , clamabat dicens : Isti homines servi Dei excelsi sunt , qui annuntiant vobis viam salutis .
ወእምዝ ተለወት ድኅሬሁ ለጳውሎስ ወድኅሬነ እንዘ ትኬልሕ ወትብል እሉ ዕደው አግብርተ እግዚአብሔር ልዑል እሙንቱ ወይሜህሩክሙ ፍኖተ ሕይወት ።
Following Paul and us, she cried out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!”
16:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦτο δὲ ἐποίει ἐπὶ πολλὰς ἡμέρας . διαπονηθεὶς δὲ Παῦλος καὶ ἐπιστρέψας τῷ πνεύματι εἶπεν · παραγγέλλω σοι ἐν ὀνόματι Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐξελθεῖν ἀπ’ αὐτῆς · καὶ ἐξῆλθεν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ .
Hoc autem faciebat multis diebus . Dolens autem Paulus , et conversus , spiritui dixit : Praecipio tibi in nomine Jesu Christi exire ab ea . Et exiit eadem hora .
ወከመዝ ትገብር ብዙኀ መዋዕለ ወአጽሐቀቶ ለጳውሎስ ወተመይጠ ወይቤሎ ለውእቱ መንፈስ እኤዝዘከ በስሙ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ከመ ትፃእ ወኀደጋ በጊዜሃ ።
She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” It came out that very hour.
16:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ κύριοι αὐτῆς ὅτι ἐξῆλθεν ἡ ἐλπὶς τῆς ἐργασίας αὐτῶν ἐπιλαβόμενοι τὸν Παῦλον καὶ τὸν Σιλᾶν εἵλκυσαν εἰς τὴν ἀγορὰν ἐπὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας ,
Videntes autem domini ejus quia exivit spes quaestus eorum , apprehendentes Paulum et Silam , perduxerunt in forum ad principes :
ወርእዮሙ አጋእዝቲሃ ከመ አልቦ እምኀበ ታገብእ ብነታ አኀዝዎሙ ለጳውሎስ ወለሲላስ ወሰሐብዎሙ እንተ ምሥያጥ ወአብጽሕዎሙ ኀበ መኳንንት ።
But when her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.
16:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ προσαγαγόντες αὐτοὺς τοῖς στρατηγοῖς εἶπαν · οὗτοι οἱ ἄνθρωποι ἐκταράσσουσιν ἡμῶν τὴν πόλιν Ἰουδαῖοι ὑπάρχοντες ,
et offerentes eos magistratibus , dixerunt : Hi homines conturbant civitatem nostram , cum sint Judaei :
ወይቤሉ እሉ ዕደው የሀውኩ ሀገረ ወአይሁድ እሙንቱ ።
When they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men, being Jews, are agitating our city
16:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ καταγγέλλουσιν ἔθη ἃ οὐκ ἔξεστιν ἡμῖν παραδέχεσθαι οὐδὲ ποιεῖν Ῥωμαίοις οὖσιν .
et annuntiant morem quem non licet nobis suscipere neque facere , cum simus Romani .
ወይሜህሩ ለነ ሕገ ዘኢይከውነነ ለገቢር እንዘ ሰብአ ሮሜ ንሕነ ።
and advocate customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.”
16:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ συνεπέστη ὁ ὄχλος κατ’ αὐτῶν , καὶ οἱ στρατηγοὶ περιρήξαντες αὐτῶν τὰ ἱμάτια ἐκέλευον ῥαβδίζειν ,
Et cucurrit plebs adversus eos : et magistratus , scissis tunicis eorum , jusserunt eos virgis caedi .
ወተጋብኡ ሕዝብ ወመኳንንት ወአኀዙ ይዝብጥዎሙ በበትር ወሠጠጡ አልባሲሆሙ ።
The multitude rose up together against them and the magistrates tore their clothes from them, then commanded them to be beaten with rods.
16:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ πολλάς τε ἐπιθέντες αὐτοῖς πληγὰς ἔβαλον εἰς φυλακήν , παραγγείλαντες τῷ δεσμοφύλακι ἀσφαλῶς τηρεῖν αὐτούς ·
Et cum multas plagas eis imposuissent , miserunt eos in carcerem , praecipientes custodi ut diligenter custodiret eos .
ወዘበጥዎሙ ብዙኀ ወሞቅሕዎሙ ወአዘዝዎ ለዐቃቤ ቤተ ሞቅሕ ያጽንዕ ዐቂቦቶሙ ።
When they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely.
16:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃς παραγγελίαν τοιαύτην λαβὼν ἔβαλεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν ἐσωτέραν φυλακὴν καὶ τοὺς πόδας ἠσφαλίσατο αὐτῶν εἰς τὸ ξύλον .
Qui cum tale praeceptum accepisset , misit eos in interiorem carcerem , et pedes eorum strinxit ligno .
ወተአዚዞ ሞቅሖሙ ውስተ ውሳጤ ቤተ ሞቅሕ ወአጽንዐ እገሪሆሙ ውስተ ጕንድ ።
Having received such a command, he threw them into the inner prison and secured their feet in the stocks.
16:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ κατὰ δὲ τὸ μεσονύκτιον Παῦλος καὶ Σιλᾶς προσευχόμενοι ὕμνουν τὸν θεόν , ἐπηκροῶντο δὲ αὐτῶν οἱ δέσμιοι ·
Media autem nocte Paulus et Silas orantes , laudabant Deum : et audiebant eos qui in custodia erant .
ወጊዜ መንፈቀ ሌሊት ጸለዩ ጳውሎስ ወሲላስ ወሰብሕዎ ለእግዚአብሔር ወሙቁሓን ይሰምዕዎሙ ።
But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
16:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄφνω δὲ σεισμὸς ἐγένετο μέγας ὥστε σαλευθῆναι τὰ θεμέλια τοῦ δεσμωτηρίου , ἠνοίχθησαν δὲ παραχρῆμα αἱ θύραι πᾶσαι , καὶ πάντων τὰ δεσμὰ ἀνέθη .
Subito vero terraemotus factus est magnus , ita ut moverentur fundamenta carceris . Et statim aperta sunt omnia ostia : et universorum vincula soluta sunt .
ወሶቤሃ አድለቅለቀ ዐቢይ ድልቅልቅ ወአንቀልቀለ መሠረተ ቤተ ሞቅሕ ወተርኅወ በጊዜሃ ኵሉ አንቀጽ ወተፈትሑ መዋቅሕቲሆሙ ለኵሎሙ ።
Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were loosened.
16:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔξυπνος δὲ γενόμενος ὁ δεσμοφύλαξ καὶ ἰδὼν ἀνεῳγμένας τὰς θύρας τῆς φυλακῆς , σπασάμενος μάχαιραν ἤμελλεν ἑαυτὸν ἀναιρεῖν , νομίζων ἐκπεφευγέναι τοὺς δεσμίους .
Expergefactus autem custos carceris , et videns januas apertas carceris , evaginato gladio volebat se interficere , aestimans fugisse vinctos .
ወሶበ ነቅሀ ዐቃቤ ቤተ ሞቅሕ ርእየ ርኅወ ኵሎ አናቅጸ ወመልሐ መጥባሕቶ ወፈቀደ ይትረገዝ ለሊሁ እስመ መሰሎ ዘአምሠጡ ሙቁሓን ።
The jailer, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.
16:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐφώνησεν δὲ φωνῇ μεγάλῃ Παῦλος λέγων , μηδὲν πράξῃς σεαυτῷ κακόν , ἅπαντες γάρ ἐσμεν ἐνθάδε .
Clamavit autem Paulus voce magna , dicens : Nihil tibi mali feceris : universi enim hic sumus .
ወከልሐ ሎቱ ጳውሎስ ወይቤሎ ኢትግበር እኩየ ዲበ ነፍስከ እስመ ሀሎነ ኵልነ ዝየ ።
But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, “Don’t harm yourself, for we are all here!”
16:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ αἰτήσας δὲ φῶτα εἰσεπήδησεν , καὶ ἔντρομος γενόμενος προσέπεσεν τῷ Παύλῳ καὶ τῷ Σιλᾷ ,
Petitoque lumine , introgressus est : et tremefactus procidit Paulo et Silae ad pedes :
ወአምጽአ ማኅቶተ ወሖረ እንዘ ይርዕድ እንተ ውስጥ ወሰገደ ኀበ ጳውሎስ ወሲላስ ።
He called for lights, sprang in, fell down trembling before Paul and Silas,
16:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ προαγαγὼν αὐτοὺς ἔξω ἔφη , κύριοι , τί με δεῖ ποιεῖν ἵνα σωθῶ ;
et producens eos foras , ait : Domini , quid me oportet facere , ut salvus fiam ?
ወአውፅኦሙ አፍኣ ወይቤሎሙ አጋእዝትየ ምንተ እግበር ከመ እድኀን ።
brought them out, and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
16:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ εἶπαν · πίστευσον ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον Ἰησοῦν , καὶ σωθήσῃ σὺ καὶ ὁ οἶκός σου .
At illi dixerunt : Crede in Dominum Jesum , et salvus eris tu , et domus tua .
ወይቤልዎ እመን በእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ወተሐዩ አንተ ወኵሉ ቤትከ ።
They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
16:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐλάλησαν αὐτῷ τὸν λόγον τοῦ κυρίου σὺν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ αὐτοῦ .
Et locuti sunt ei verbum Domini cum omnibus qui erant in domo ejus .
ወነገርዎ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር ሎቱ ወለኵሉ ሰብኡ ።
They spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his house.
16:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ παραλαβὼν αὐτοὺς ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ τῆς νυκτὸς ἔλουσεν ἀπὸ τῶν πληγῶν , καὶ ἐβαπτίσθη αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ αὐτοῦ ἅπαντες παραχρῆμα ,
Et tollens eos in illa hora noctis , lavit plagas eorum : et baptizatus est ipse , et omnis domus ejus continuo .
ወነሥኦሙ ሶቤሃ በሌሊት ወኀፀቦሙ እምቅሥፈቶሙ ወተጠምቀ ውእቱኒ ወኵሉ ሰብኡ በጊዜሃ ።
He took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes, and was immediately baptized, he and all his household.
16:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀναγαγών τε αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν οἶκον παρέθηκεν τράπεζαν , καὶ ἠγαλλιάσατο πανοικεὶ πεπιστευκὼς τῷ θεῷ .
Cumque perduxisset eos in domum suam , apposuit eis mensam , et laetatus est cum omni domo sua credens Deo .
ወአዕረጎሙ ውስተ ቤቱ ወሠርዐ ማእደ ወተፈሥሐ ውእቱ ወኵሉ ቤቱ በአሚነ እግዚእነ ።
He brought them up into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly with all his household, having believed in God.
16:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἡμέρας δὲ γενομένης ἀπέστειλαν οἱ στρατηγοὶ τοὺς ῥαβδούχους λέγοντες , ἀπόλυσον τοὺς ἀνθρώπους ἐκείνους .
Et cum dies factus esset , miserunt magistratus lictores , dicentes : Dimitte homines illos .
ወጸቢሖ ለአኩ መኳንንት ወዓልያኒሆሙ እንዘ ይብሉ ፍትሕዎሙ ለእሉ ዕደው ወኅድግዎሙ ይሑሩ ።
But when it was day, the magistrates sent the sergeants, saying, “Let those men go.”
16:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀπήγγειλεν δὲ ὁ δεσμοφύλαξ τοὺς λόγους τούτους πρὸς τὸν Παῦλον , ὅτι ἀπέσταλκαν οἱ στρατηγοὶ ἵνα ἀπολυθῆτε · νῦν οὖν ἐξελθόντες πορεύεσθε ἐν εἰρήνῃ .
Nuntiavit autem custos carceris verba haec Paulo : Quia miserunt magistratus ut dimittamini : nunc igitur exeuntes , ite in pace .
ወሰሚዖ ዐቃቤ ቤተ ሞቅሕ ነገሮሙ ዘ ነገረ ለጳውሎስ ወለሲላስ ከመ ለአኩ መኳንንት ይኅድግዎሙ ወይቤሎሙ ይእዜኒ ሑሩ በሰላም ።
The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go; now therefore come out and go in peace.”
16:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Παῦλος ἔφη πρὸς αὐτούς , δείραντες ἡμᾶς δημοσίᾳ ἀκατακρίτους , ἀνθρώπους Ῥωμαίους ὑπάρχοντας , ἔβαλαν εἰς φυλακήν · καὶ νῦν λάθρᾳ ἡμᾶς ἐκβάλλουσιν ; οὐ γάρ , ἀλλὰ ἐλθόντες αὐτοὶ ἡμᾶς ἐξαγαγέτωσαν .
Paulus autem dixit eis : Caesos nos publice , indemnatos homines Romanos , miserunt in carcerem : et nunc occulte nos ejiciunt ? Non ita : sed veniant ,
ወይቤልዎ ቀሠፉነ ገሃደ ዘአልብነ አበሳ እንዘ ሰብአ ሮሜ ንሕነ ወሞቅሑነ ወይእዜኒ ጽሚተ ያውፅኡነ ይፈቅዱ ጽሚተሰኬ አበይነ ይምጽኡ ለሊሆሙ ያውፅኡነ ።
But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!”
16:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀπήγγειλαν τε τοῖς στρατηγοῖς οἱ ῥαβδοῦχοι τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα . ἐφοβήθησαν δὲ ἀκούσαντες ὅτι Ῥωμαῖοί εἰσιν ,
et ipsi nos ejiciant . Nuntiaverunt autem magistratibus lictores verba haec . Timueruntque audito quod Romani essent :
ወሖሩ ወነገርዎሙ ወዓልያኒሆሙ ዘንተ ነገረ ለመኳንንት ወፈርሁ ሰሚዖሙ ከመ ሰብአ ሮሜ እሙንቱ ።
The sergeants reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans,
16:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐλθόντες παρεκάλεσαν αὐτούς , καὶ ἐξαγαγόντες ἠρώτων ἀπελθεῖν ἀπὸ τῆς πόλεως .
et venientes deprecati sunt eos , et educentes rogabant ut egrederentur de urbe .
ወመጽኡ ወአስተብቍዕዎሙ ከመ ይፃኡ እምብሔሮሙ ።
and they came and begged them. When they had brought them out, they asked them to depart from the city.
16:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐξελθόντες δὲ ἀπὸ τῆς φυλακῆς εἰσῆλθον πρὸς τὴν Λυδίαν , καὶ ἰδόντες παρεκάλεσαν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς καὶ ἐξῆλθαν .
Exeuntes autem de carcere , introierunt ad Lydiam : et visis fratribus consolati sunt eos , et profecti sunt .
ወወፂኦሙ እምቤተ ሞቅሕ ቦኡ ቤተ ልድያ ወረከቡ ቢጾሙ ወመሀርዎሙ ወወፅኡ ።
They went out of the prison and entered into Lydia’s house. When they had seen the brothers, they encouraged them, then departed.
