10:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀνὴρ δέ τις ἐν Καισαρίᾳ ὀνόματι Κορνήλιος , ἑκατοντάρχης ἐκ σπείρης τῆς καλουμένης Ἰταλικῆς ,
Vir autem quidam erat in Caesarea , nomine Cornelius , centurio cohortis quae dicitur Italica ,
ወሀሎ አሐዱ ብእሲ በሀገረ ቂሳርያ ዘስሙ ቆርኔሌዎስ ሐቤ ምእት ውእቱ ለሕዝበ ሰጲራ እንተ ይብልዋ ኢጣሊቄ ።
Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,
10:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ εὐσεβὴς καὶ φοβούμενος τὸν θεὸν σὺν παντὶ τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ , ποιῶν ἐλεημοσύνας πολλὰς τῷ λαῷ καὶ δεόμενος τοῦ θεοῦ διαπαντός ,
religiosus , ac timens Deum cum omni domo sua , faciens eleemosynas multas plebi , et deprecans Deum semper .
ጻድቅ ወፈራሄ እግዚአብሔር ምስለ ኵሉ ሰብአ ቤቱ ወይገብር ብዙኀ ምጽዋተ ለሕዝብ ወይጼሊ ወትረ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር ።
a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God.
10:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶδεν ἐν ὁράματι φανερῶς ὡσεὶ περὶ ὥραν ἐνάτην τῆς ἡμέρας ἄγγελον τοῦ θεοῦ εἰσελθόντα πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ εἰπόντα αὐτῷ , Κορνήλιε .
Is vidit in visu manifeste , quasi hora diei nona , angelum Dei introëuntem ad se , et dicentem sibi : Corneli .
ወአስተርአዮ መልአከ እግዚአብሔር ክሡተ ጊዜ ተሱዓት ሰዓት ዘመዓልት ቦአ ኀቤሁ ወይቤሎ ቆርኔሌዎስ ።
At about the ninth hour of the day, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him and saying to him, “Cornelius!”
10:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἀτενίσας αὐτῷ καὶ ἔμφοβος γενόμενος εἶπεν , τί ἐστιν , κύριε ; εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ , αἱ προσευχαί σου καὶ αἱ ἐλεημοσύναι σου ἀνέβησαν εἰς μνημόσυνον ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ θεοῦ .
At ille intuens eum , timore correptus , dixit : Quid est , domine ? Dixit autem illi : Orationes tuae et eleemosynae tuae ascenderunt in memoriam in conspectu Dei .
ወነጸረ ኀቤሁ ወፈርሀ ወይቤ ምንተ ትብል እግዚኦ ወይቤሎ ጸሎትከ ወምጽዋትከ ዐርገ ቅድመ እግዚአብሔር ተዝካረ ሠናየ ።
He, fastening his eyes on him and being frightened, said, “What is it, Lord?” He said to him, “Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.
10:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ νῦν πέμψον ἄνδρας εἰς Ἰόππην καὶ μετάπεμψαι Σίμωνά τινα ὃς ἐπικαλεῖται Πέτρος ·
Et nunc mitte viros in Joppen , et accersi Simonem quemdam , qui cognominatur Petrus :
ወይእዜኒ ፈኑ ዕደወ ሀገረ ኢዮጴ ይጸውዕዎ ለከ ለስምዖን ጴጥሮስ ዘየኀድር ቤተ ስምዖን ሰፋዪ ዘመንገለ ባሕር ።
Now send men to Joppa, and get Simon, who is also called Peter.
10:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὗτος ξενίζεται παρά τινι Σίμωνι βυρσεῖ , ᾧ ἐστιν οἰκία παρὰ θάλασσαν .
hic hospitatur apud Simonem quemdam coriarium , cujus est domus juxta mare : hic dicet tibi quid te oporteat facere .
ወውእቱ ይነግረከ በዘተሐዩ አንተ ወኵሉ ቤትከ ።
He is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the seaside.
10:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ ἀπῆλθεν ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ λαλῶν αὐτῷ , φωνήσας δύο τῶν οἰκετῶν καὶ στρατιώτην εὐσεβῆ τῶν προσκαρτερούντων αὐτῷ ,
Et cum discessisset angelus qui loquebatur illi , vocavit duos domesticos suos , et militem metuentem Dominum ex his qui illi parebant .
ወኀሊፎ መልአክ ዘተናገሮ ጸውዐ ክልኤተ እምወዓልያኒሁ ወአሐደ ሐራ ኄረ እምፀማዱ ።
When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.
10:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐξηγησάμενος ἅπαντα αὐτοῖς ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν Ἰόππην .
Quibus cum narrasset omnia , misit illos in Joppen .
ወነገሮሙ ኵሎ ወለአኮሙ ሀገረ ኢዮጴ ።
Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.
10:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον ὁδοιπορούντων αὐτῶν καὶ τῇ πόλει ἐγγιζόντων ἀνέβη Πέτρος ἐπὶ τὸ δῶμα προσεύξασθαι περὶ ὥραν ἕκτην .
Postera autem die , iter illis facientibus , et appropinquantibus civitati , ascendit Petrus in superiora ut oraret circa horam sextam .
ወበሳኒታ እንዘ የሐውሩ በጽሑ ኢዮጴ ኀበ አንቀጸ ሀገር ወጴጥሮስኒ ዐርገ ናሕሰ ይጸሊ ጊዜ ቀትር ።
Now on the next day as they were on their journey and got close to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.
10:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐγένετο δὲ πρόσπεινος καὶ ἤθελεν γεύσασθαι · παρασκευαζόντων δὲ αὐτῶν ἐγένετο ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ἔκστασις ,
Et cum esuriret , voluit gustare . Parantibus autem illis , cecidit super eum mentis excessus :
እስመ ርኅበ ወፈቀደ ይምሳሕ ወእንዘ ያስተዳልዉ እሙንቱ መጽአ ድንጋፄ ላዕሌሁ ።
He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.
10:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ θεωρεῖ τὸν οὐρανὸν ἀνεῳγμένον καὶ καταβαῖνον σκεῦός τι ὡς ὀθόνην μεγάλην τέσσαρσιν ἀρχαῖς καθιέμενον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ,
et vidit caelum apertum , et descendens vas quoddam , velut linteum magnum , quatuor initiis submitti de caelo in terram ,
ወርእየ ሰማየ ርኅወ ወይወርድ ከመ ዘሞጣሕት ዐቢይ ዲበ ምድር እኁዝ በአርባዕቱ ጽነፊሁ ።
He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet let down by four corners on the earth,
10:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ᾧ ὑπῆρχεν πάντα τὰ τετράποδα καὶ ἑρπετὰ τῆς γῆς καὶ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ .
in quo erant omnia quadrupedia , et serpentia terrae , et volatilia caeli .
ወቦ ውስቴቱ ኵሉ እንስሳ ወአራዊተ ገዳም ወአዕዋፈ ሰማይ ።
in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the sky.
10:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐγένετο φωνὴ πρὸς αὐτόν , ἀναστάς , Πέτρε , θῦσον καὶ φάγε .
Et facta est vox ad eum : Surge , Petre : occide , et manduca .
ወነበቦ ቃል ወይቤሎ ተንሥእ ጴጥሮስ ኅርድ ወብላዕ ።
A voice came to him, “Rise, Peter, kill and eat!”
10:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Πέτρος εἶπεν , μηδαμῶς , κύριε , ὅτι οὐδέποτε ἔφαγον πᾶν κοινὸν καὶ ἀκάθαρτον .
Ait autem Petrus : Absit Domine , quia numquam manducavi omne commune et immundum .
ወይቤሎ ጴጥሮስ ሐሰ ሊተ እግዚኦ ግሙራ ኢቦአ ርኩስ ውስተ አፉየ ወኢበላዕኩ ዘኢኮነ ንጹሐ ።
But Peter said, “Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”
10:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ φωνὴ πάλιν ἐκ δευτέρου πρὸς αὐτόν , ἃ ὁ θεὸς ἐκαθάρισεν σὺ μὴ κοίνου .
Et vox iterum secundo ad eum : Quod Deus purificavit , tu commune ne dixeris .
ወነበቦ ዳግመ ወይቤሎ ዘእግዚአብሔር አንጽሐ አንተ ኢታስተራኵስ ።
A voice came to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean.”
10:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦτο δὲ ἐγένετο ἐπὶ τρίς , καὶ εὐθὺς ἀνελήμφθη τὸ σκεῦος εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν .
Hoc autem factum est per ter : et statim receptum est vas in caelum .
ወከመዝ ይቤሎ ሥልሰ ወኵሉ ተመይጠ ውስተ ሰማይ ።
This was done three times, and immediately the thing was received up into heaven.
10:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ ἐν ἑαυτῷ διηπόρει ὁ Πέτρος τί ἂν εἴη τὸ ὅραμα ὃ εἶδεν , ἰδοὺ οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ ἀπεσταλμένοι ὑπὸ τοῦ Κορνηλίου διερωτήσαντες τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ Σίμωνος ἐπέστησαν ἐπὶ τὸν πυλῶνα ,
Et dum intra se haesitaret Petrus quidnam esset visio quam vidisset , ecce viri qui missi erant a Cornelio , inquirentes domum Simonis astiterunt ad januam .
ወእንዘ ይኄሊ ጴጥሮስ ምንት ውእቱ ዘአስተርአዮ በጽሑ ዕደው እለ ተፈነዉ እምኀበ ቆርኔሌዎስ እንዘ የኀሥሡ ቤቶ ለስምዖን ወቆሙ ኀበ ዴዴ ።
Now while Peter was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood before the gate,
10:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ φωνήσαντες ἐπυνθάνοντο εἰ Σίμων ὁ ἐπικαλούμενος Πέτρος ἐνθάδε ξενίζεται .
Et cum vocassent , interrogabant , si Simon qui cognominatur Petrus illic haberet hospitium .
ወጸርሑ ወሐተቱ ለእመሁ ስምዖን ዘተሰምየ ጴጥሮስ በህየ የኀድር ።
and called and asked whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was lodging there.
10:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦ δὲ Πέτρου διενθυμουμένου περὶ τοῦ ὁράματος εἶπεν τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτῷ , ἰδοὺ ἄνδρες ζητοῦντές σε ·
Petro autem cogitante de visione , dixit Spiritus ei : Ecce viri tres quaerunt te .
ወእንዘ ይኄሊ ጴጥሮስ በእንተ ዘአስተርአዮ ይቤሎ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ናሁ ሠለስቱ ዕደው የኀሥሡከ ።
While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men seek you.
10:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ ἀναστὰς κατάβηθι καὶ πορεύου σὺν αὐτοῖς μηδὲν διακρινόμενος , ὅτι ἐγὼ ἀπέσταλκα αὐτούς .
Surge itaque , descende , et vade cum eis nihil dubitans : quia ego misi illos .
ተንሥእ ወረድ ወሑር ምስሌሆሙ እንዘ ኢትናፍቅ ወኢምንተኒ እስመ አነ ፈነውክዎሙ ።
But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.”
10:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ καταβὰς δὲ Πέτρος πρὸς τοὺς ἄνδρας εἶπεν · ἰδοὺ ἐγώ εἰμι ὃν ζητεῖτε · τίς ἡ αἰτία δι’ ἣν πάρεστε ;
Descendens autem Petrus ad viros , dixit : Ecce ego sum , quem quaeritis : quae causa est , propter quam venistis ?
ወወረደ ጴጥሮስ ኀበ እሙንቱ ዕደው ወይቤሎሙ ነየ አነ ዘተኀሥሡኒ በእንተ ምንት መጻእክሙ ።
Peter went down to the men, and said, “Behold, I am he whom you seek. Why have you come?”
10:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ εἶπαν · Κορνήλιος ἑκατοντάρχης , ἀνὴρ δίκαιος καὶ φοβούμενος τὸν θεὸν μαρτυρούμενός τε ὑπὸ ὅλου τοῦ ἔθνους τῶν Ἰουδαίων , ἐχρηματίσθη ὑπὸ ἀγγέλου ἁγίου μεταπέμψασθαί σε εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀκοῦσαι ῥήματα παρὰ σοῦ .
Qui dixerunt : Cornelius centurio , vir justus et timens Deum , et testimonium habens ab universa gente Judaeorum , responsum accepit ab angelo sancto accersire te in domum suam , et audire verba abs te .
ወይቤልዎ እሙንቱ ቆርኔሌዎስ ሐቤ ምእት ብእሲ ጻድቅ ወፈራሄ እግዚአብሔር ወየአምርዎ ኵሉ ሕዝበ አይሁድ አስተርአዮ መልአክ ቅዱስ ወይቤሎ ከመ ይጸውዕከ ውስተ ቤቱ ወይስማዕከ ዘትነግሮ ወውእቱ ፈነወነ ኀቤከ ።
They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say.”
10:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰσκαλεσάμενος οὖν αὐτοὺς ἐξένισεν . Τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον ἀναστὰς ἐξῆλθεν σὺν αὐτοῖς , καί τινες τῶν ἀδελφῶν τῶν ἀπὸ Ἰόππης συνῆλθον αὐτῷ .
Introducens ergo eos , recepit hospitio . Sequenti autem die , surgens profectus est cum illis , et quidam ex fratribus ab Joppe comitati sunt eum .
ወውእቱ ጸውዖሙ ወአኅደሮሙ ወበሳኒታ ተንሥአ ወሖረ ምስሌሆሙ ወቦ እምቢጾሙ እምሀገረ ኢዮጴ እለ ሖሩ ምስሌሁ ።
So he called them in and provided a place to stay. On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
10:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὴν Καισάριαν · ὁ δὲ Κορνήλιος ἦν προσδοκῶν αὐτούς , συνκαλεσάμενος τοὺς συγγενεῖς αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς ἀναγκαίους φίλους .
Altera autem die introivit Caesaream . Cornelius vero exspectabat illos , convocatis cognatis suis et necessariis amicis .
ወበሳኒታ ቦአ ሀገረ ቂሳርያ ወሀሎ ቆርኔሌዎስ ይጸንሖሙ ወጸውዐ አዝማዲሁ ወማኅፈሮ ።
On the next day they entered into Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and his near friends.
10:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ ἐγένετο τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν τὸν Πέτρον , συναντήσας αὐτῷ ὁ Κορνήλιος πεσὼν ἐπὶ τοὺς πόδας προσεκύνησεν .
Et factum est cum introisset Petrus , obvius venit ei Cornelius , et procidens ad pedes ejus adoravit .
ወበዊኦ ጴጥሮስ ተቀበሎ ቆርኔሌዎስ ወሰገደ ሎቱ ታሕተ እገሪሁ ።
When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.
10:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Πέτρος ἤγειρεν αὐτὸν λέγων , ἀνάστηθι · καὶ ἐγὼ αὐτὸς ἄνθρωπός εἰμι .
Petrus vero elevavit eum , dicens : Surge : et ego ipse homo sum .
ወአንሥኦ ጴጥሮስ ወይቤሎ ተንሥእ አነሂ ከማከ ሰብእ ።
But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up! I myself am also a man.”
10:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ συνομιλῶν αὐτῷ εἰσῆλθεν , καὶ εὑρίσκει συνεληλυθότας πολλούς ,
Et loquens cum illo intravit , et invenit multos qui convenerant :
ወቦአ እንዘ ይትናገር ምስሌሁ ወረከበ ብዙኃነ ሰብአ እለ መጽኡ ።
As he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered together.
10:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔφη τε πρὸς αὐτούς , ὑμεῖς ἐπίστασθε ὡς ἀθέμιτόν ἐστιν ἀνδρὶ Ἰουδαίῳ κολλᾶσθαι ἢ προσέρχεσθαι ἀλλοφύλῳ · κἀμοὶ ἔδειξεν ὁ θεὸς μηδένα κοινὸν ἢ ἀκάθαρτον λέγειν ἄνθρωπον ·
dixitque ad illos : Vos scitis quomodo abominatum sit viro Judaeo conjungi aut accedere ad alienigenam : sed mihi ostendit Deus neminem communem aut immundum dicere hominem .
ወይቤሎሙ ጴጥሮስ ተአምሩ ለሊክሙ ከመ ኢይከውኖ ለብእሲ አይሁዳዊ ከመ ይሑር ወይባእ ኀበ ካልእ ሕዝብ ወሊተሰ አርአየኒ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ኢያስተራኵሶ ለሰብእ ወኢለመኑሂ ።
He said to them, “You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I shouldn’t call any man unholy or unclean.
10:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ διὸ καὶ ἀναντιρρήτως ἦλθον μεταπεμφθείς . πυνθάνομαι οὖν τίνι λόγῳ μετεπέμψασθέ με ;
Propter quod sine dubitatione veni accersitus . Interrogo ergo , quam ob causam accersistis me ?
ወይእዜኒ ኢናፊቅየ መጻእኩ ኀቤክሙ በዘለአክሙ እስኩ አይድዑኒ ምንትኑ በዘጸዋዕክሙኒ ።
Therefore I also came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?”
10:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὁ Κορνήλιος ἔφη , ἀπὸ τετάρτης ἡμέρας μέχρι ταύτης τῆς ὥρας ἤμην τὴν ἐνάτην προσευχόμενος ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ μου , καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ ἔστη ἐνώπιόν μου ἐν ἐσθῆτι λαμπρᾷ
Et Cornelius ait : A nudiusquarta die usque ad hanc horam , orans eram hora nona in domo mea , et ecce vir stetit ante me in veste candida , et ait :
ወይቤሎ ቆርኔሌዎስ ረቡዕ ዮም እንዘ እጼሊ በጊዜ ተሱዓት ሰዓት በቤትየ አስተርአየኒ ብእሲ ይቀውም ቅድሜየ ወይለብስ ብርሃነ ።
Cornelius said, “Four days ago, I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour, I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing
10:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ φησίν , Κορνήλιε , εἰσηκούσθη σου ἡ προσευχὴ καὶ αἱ ἐλεημοσύναι σου ἐμνήσθησαν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ .
Corneli , exaudita est oratio tua , et eleemosynae tuae commemoratae sunt in conspectu Dei .
ወይቤለኒ ቆርኔሌዎስ ተሰምዐ ጸሎትከ ወምጽዋትከ በቅድመ እግዚአብሔር ተዘከረከ ።
and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts to the needy are remembered in the sight of God.
10:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ πέμψον οὖν εἰς Ἰόππην καὶ μετακάλεσαι Σίμωνα ὃς ἐπικαλεῖται Πέτρος · οὗτος ξενίζεται ἐν οἰκίᾳ Σίμωνος βυρσέως παρὰ θάλασσαν .
Mitte ergo in Joppen , et accersi Simonem qui cognominatur Petrus : hic hospitatur in domo Simonis coriarii juxta mare .
ወይእዜኒ ለአክ ሀገረ ኢዮጴ ይጸውዕዎ ለከ ለስምዖን ዘተሰምየ ጴጥሮስ ዘየኀድር ቤተ ስምዖን ሰፋዪ ዘመንገለ ባሕር ወውእቱ ይነግረከ በዘተሐዩ አንተ ወኵሉ ቤትከ ።
Send therefore to Joppa and summon Simon, who is also called Peter. He is staying in the house of a tanner named Simon, by the seaside. When he comes, he will speak to you.’
10:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐξαυτῆς οὖν ἔπεμψα πρὸς σέ , σύ τε καλῶς ἐποίησας παραγενόμενος . νῦν οὖν πάντες ἡμεῖς ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ πάρεσμεν ἀκοῦσαι πάντα τὰ προστεταγμένα σοι ὑπὸ τοῦ κυρίου .
Confestim ergo misi ad te : et tu benefecisti veniendo . Nunc ergo omnes nos in conspectu tuo adsumus audire omnia quaecumque tibi praecepta sunt a Domino .
ወሶቤሃ በእንቲኣሁ ለአኩ ኀቤከ ወሠናየ ገበርከ ዘመጻእከ ወይእዜኒ ናሁ ሀሎነ ኵልነ ቅድሜከ ከመ ንስማዕ ኵሎ ዘአዘዘከ እግዚአብሔር ።
Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by God.”
10:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀνοίξας δὲ Πέτρος τὸ στόμα εἶπεν · ἐπ’ ἀληθείας καταλαμβάνομαι ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν προσωπολήμπτης ὁ θεός ,
Aperiens autem Petrus os suum , dixit : In veritate comperi quia non est personarum acceptor Deus ;
ወከሠተ አፉሁ ጴጥሮስ ወይቤ አማነ ርኢኩ ከመ ኢያደሉ እግዚአብሔር ለገጽ ።
Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism;
10:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλ’ ἐν παντὶ ἔθνει ὁ φοβούμενος αὐτὸν καὶ ἐργαζόμενος δικαιοσύνην δεκτὸς αὐτῷ ἐστιν .
sed in omni gente qui timet eum , et operatur justitiam , acceptus est illi .
አላ በኵሉ አሕዛብ ዘይፈርሆ ወይገብር ጽድቀ ኅሩይ ውእቱ በኀቤሁ ።
but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
10:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ τὸν λόγον ὃν ἀπέστειλεν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ εὐαγγελιζόμενος εἰρήνην διὰ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ · οὗτός ἐστιν πάντων κύριος ·
Verbum misit Deus filiis Israël , annuntians pacem per Jesum Christum (hic est omnium Dominus ).
ወፈነወ ቃሎ ለደቂቀ እስራኤል ወዜነዎሙ ሰላመ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ዘውእቱ እግዚእ ለኵሉ ።
The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all—
10:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὑμεῖς οἴδατε , τὸ γενόμενον ῥῆμα καθ’ ὅλης τῆς Ἰουδαίας , ἀρξάμενος ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας μετὰ τὸ βάπτισμα ὃ ἐκήρυξεν Ἰωάννης ,
Vos scitis quod factum est verbum per universam Judaeam : incipiens enim a Galilaea post baptismum quod praedicavit Joannes ,
ተአምሩ ለሊክሙ ኵሎ ነገረ ዘኮነ በይሁዳ እኂዞ እምገሊላ እምድኅረ ጥምቀት ዘሰበከ ዮሐንስ ።
you yourselves know what happened, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
10:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἰησοῦν τὸν ἀπὸ Ναζαρέθ , ὡς ἔχρισεν αὐτὸν ὁ θεὸς πνεύματι ἁγίῳ καὶ δυνάμει , ὃς διῆλθεν εὐεργετῶν καὶ ἰώμενος πάντας τοὺς καταδυναστευομένους ὑπὸ τοῦ διαβόλου , ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ἦν μετ’ αὐτοῦ .
Jesum a Nazareth : quomodo unxit eum Deus Spiritu Sancto , et virtute , qui pertransiit benefaciendo , et sanando omnes oppressos a diabolo , quoniam Deus erat cum illo .
በኢየሱስ ዘእምናዝሬት ዘቀብዖ እግዚአብሔር መንፈሰ ቅዱሰ ወኀይለ ወውእቱ መጽአ ወረድኦሙ ለእለ ይትዔገሎሙ ሰይጣን እስመ እግዚአብሔር ምስሌሁ ።
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
10:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἡμεῖς μάρτυρες πάντων ὧν ἐποίησεν ἔν τε τῇ χώρᾳ τῶν Ἰουδαίων καὶ ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ , ὃν καὶ ἀνεῖλαν κρεμάσαντες ἐπὶ ξύλου .
Et nos testes sumus omnium quae fecit in regione Judaeorum , et Jerusalem , quem occiderunt suspendentes in ligno .
ወንሕነ ኵልነ ሰማዕቱ በዘገብረ በይሁዳ ወበኢየሩሳሌም ወቀተልዎ ሰቂሎሙ ዲበ ዕፅ ።
We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also killed, hanging him on a tree.
10:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦτον ὁ θεὸς ἤγειρεν ἐν τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸν ἐμφανῆ γενέσθαι ,
Hunc Deus suscitavit tertia die , et dedit eum manifestum fieri ,
ወእግዚአብሔር አንሥኦ እሙታን በሣልስት ዕለት ወወሀቦ ከመ ያስተርኢ ገሃደ ።
God raised him up the third day and gave him to be revealed,
10:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ παντὶ τῷ λαῷ ἀλλὰ μάρτυσιν τοῖς προκεχειροτονημένοις ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ , ἡμῖν , οἵτινες συνεφάγομεν καὶ συνεπίομεν αὐτῷ μετὰ τὸ ἀναστῆναι αὐτὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν ·
non omni populo , sed testibus praeordinatis a Deo : nobis , qui manducavimus et bibimus cum illo postquam resurrexit a mortuis .
ወአኮሰ ለኵሉ ሕዝብ አላ ዳእሙ ለእለ ይከውኑ ስምዐ እለ ኀረዮሙ እምትካት ወንሕነ እሙንቱ እለ በላዕነ ወሰተይነ ምስሌሁ እምድኅረ ተንሥአ እሙታን አርብዓ ዕለተ ።
not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
10:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ παρήγγειλεν ἡμῖν κηρύξαι τῷ λαῷ καὶ διαμαρτύρασθαι ὅτι αὐτός ἐστιν ὁ ὡρισμένος ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ κριτὴς ζώντων καὶ νεκρῶν .
Et praecepit nobis praedicare populo , et testificari , quia ipse est qui constitutus est a Deo judex vivorum et mortuorum .
ወአዘዘነ ከመ ንስብክ ወንንግር ለሕዝብ ከመ ውእቱ ዘተሠይመ በኀበ እግዚአብሔር መኰንነ ሕያዋን ወምዉታን ።
He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that this is he who is appointed by God as the Judge of the living and the dead.
10:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ τούτῳ πάντες οἱ προφῆται μαρτυροῦσιν , ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν λαβεῖν διὰ τοῦ ὀνόματος αὐτοῦ πάντα τὸν πιστεύοντα εἰς αὐτόν .
Huic omnes prophetae testimonium perhibent remissionem peccatorum accipere per nomen ejus omnes qui credunt in eum .
ወኵሎሙ ነቢያት ሰማዕቱ ከመ በስመ ዚኣሁ ይትኀደግ ሎሙ ኀጢአቶሙ ለኵሎሙ እለ የአምኑ ቦቱ ።
All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.”
10:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἔτι λαλοῦντος τοῦ Πέτρου τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα ἐπέπεσεν τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ἀκούοντας τὸν λόγον .
Adhuc loquente Petro verba haec , cecidit Spiritus Sanctus super omnes qui audiebant verbum .
ወእንዘ ይነግሮሙ ጴጥሮስ ዘንተ ነገረ ወረደ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ዲበ ኵሎሙ እለ ሰምዑ ዘንተ ነገረ ።
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.
10:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐξέστησαν οἱ ἐκ περιτομῆς πιστοὶ ὅσοι συνῆλθαν τῷ Πέτρῳ , ὅτι καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ ἔθνη ἡ δωρεὰ τοῦ ἁγίου πνεύματος ἐκκέχυται ·
Et obstupuerunt ex circumcisione fideles qui venerant cum Petro , quia et in nationes gratia Spiritus Sancti effusa est .
ወደንገፁ ኵሎሙ ምእመናን እለ እምውስተ አይሁድ እለ መጽኡ ምስለ ጴጥሮስ እስመ ዲበ አሕዛብኒ ወረደ ጸጋሁ ለመንፈስ ቅዱስ ።
They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.
10:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἤκουον γὰρ αὐτῶν λαλούντων γλώσσαις καὶ μεγαλυνόντων τὸν θεόν . τότε ἀπεκρίθη Πέτρος ,
Audiebant enim illos loquentes linguis , et magnificantes Deum .
ወሰምዕዎሙ ይነብቡ በነገረ በሐውርት ወይሴብሕዎ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
For they heard them speaking in other languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
10:47 ⧉ ⤴︎ μήτι τὸ ὕδωρ δύναται κωλῦσαί τις τοῦ μὴ βαπτισθῆναι τούτους οἵτινες τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ἔλαβον ὡς καὶ ἡμεῖς ;
Tunc respondit Petrus : Numquid aquam quis prohibere potest ut non baptizentur hi qui Spiritum Sanctum acceperunt sicut et nos ?
ወይቤ ጴጥሮስ መኑ እንከ ይክል ይክልኦሙ ማየ ከመ ኢይጠመቁ ቦቱ እምድኅረ ነሥኡ መንፈሰ ቅዱሰ ከማነ ።
“Can anyone forbid these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just like us.”
10:48 ⧉ ⤴︎ προσέταξεν δὲ αὐτοῖς ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ βαπτισθῆναι . τότε ἠρώτησαν αὐτὸν ἐπιμεῖναι ἡμέρας τινάς .
Et jussit eos baptizari in nomine Domini Jesu Christi . Tunc rogaverunt eum ut maneret apud eos aliquot diebus .
ወአዘዞሙ ይጠመቁ በስሙ ለኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ወእምዝ አስተብቍዕዎ ለጴጥሮስ ከመ ይንበር ኀቤሆሙ ኅዳጠ መዋዕለ ።
He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.
