5:1
וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ כׇּל־שִׁבְטֵ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶל־דָּוִ֖ד חֶבְר֑וֹנָה וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לֵאמֹ֔ר הִנְנ֛וּ עַצְמְךָ֥ וּֽבְשָׂרְךָ֖ אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃
καὶ παραγίνονται πᾶσαι αἱ φυλαὶ Ισραηλ πρὸς Δαυιδ εἰς Χεβρων καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ ἰδοὺ ὀστᾶ σου καὶ σάρκες σου ἡμεῖς
Et venerunt universae tribus Israël ad David in Hebron, dicentes : Ecce nos os tuum et caro tua sumus.
ወመጽኡ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሕዝበ፡ እስራኤል፡ ኀበ፡ ዳዊት፡ ውስተ፡ ኬብሮን፡ ወይቤልዎ፡ ናሁ፡ ሥጋከ፡ ወዐፅምከ፡ ንሕነ።
Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.
5:2
גַּם־אֶתְמ֣וֹל גַּם־שִׁלְשׁ֗וֹם בִּֽהְי֨וֹת שָׁא֥וּל מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ עָלֵ֔ינוּ אַתָּ֗ה (הייתה מוציא) [הָיִ֛יתָ הַמּוֹצִ֥יא] וְהַמֵּבִ֖י אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה לְךָ֗ אַתָּ֨ה תִרְעֶ֤ה אֶת־עַמִּי֙ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאַתָּ֛ה תִּהְיֶ֥ה לְנָגִ֖יד עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτην ὄντος Σαουλ βασιλέως ἐφ’ ἡμῖν σὺ ἦσθα ὁ ἐξάγων καὶ εἰσάγων τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς σέ σὺ ποιμανεῖς τὸν λαόν μου τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ σὺ ἔσει εἰς ἡγούμενον ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ
Sed et heri et nudiustertius cum esset Saul rex super nos, tu eras educens et reducens Israël : dixit autem Dominus ad te : Tu pasces populum meum Israël, et tu eris dux super Israël.
ወቀዲሙኒ፡ እንዘ፡ ሀለወ፡ ሳኦል፡ ይነግሥ፡ ለነ፡ አንተ፡ ክመ፡ ዘታወፅኦሙሰ፡ ወታበውኦሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ወይቤለከ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አንተ፡ ትርዕዮሙ፡ ለሕዝብየ፡ እስራኤል።
In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. Yahweh said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.’”
5:3
וַ֠יָּבֹ֠אוּ כׇּל־זִקְנֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל אֶל־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ חֶבְר֔וֹנָה וַיִּכְרֹ֣ת לָהֶם֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ דָּוִ֥ד בְּרִ֛ית בְּחֶבְר֖וֹן לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיִּמְשְׁח֧וּ אֶת־דָּוִ֛ד לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ {ס}
καὶ ἔρχονται πάντες οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Ισραηλ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα εἰς Χεβρων καὶ διέθετο αὐτοῖς ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαυιδ διαθήκην ἐν Χεβρων ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ χρίουσιν τὸν Δαυιδ εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ πάντα Ισραηλ
Venerunt quoque et seniores Israël ad regem in Hebron, et percussit cum eis rex David foedus in Hebron coram Domino : unxeruntque David in regem super Israël.
ወመጽኡ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ሊቃናተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ኀበ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ኬብሮን፡ ወተማሐለ፡ ምስሌሆሙ፡ ዳዊት፡ መሐላ፡ በኬብሮን፡ በቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወቀብእዎ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ይንግሥ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ እስራኤል።
So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh; and they anointed David king over Israel.
5:4
בֶּן־שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים שָׁנָ֛ה דָּוִ֖ד בְּמׇלְכ֑וֹ אַרְבָּעִ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה מָלָֽךְ׃
υἱὸς τριάκοντα ἐτῶν Δαυιδ ἐν τῷ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν καὶ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν
Filius triginta annorum erat David cum regnare coepisset, et quadraginta annis regnavit.
ወወልደ፡ ፴ዓመት፡ ውእቱ፡ ዳዊት፡ አመ፡ ያነግሥዎ፡ ወ፵ዓመተ፡ ነግሠ።
David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5:5
בְּחֶבְרוֹן֙ מָלַ֣ךְ עַל־יְהוּדָ֔ה שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִ֖ים וְשִׁשָּׁ֣ה חֳדָשִׁ֑ים וּבִירוּשָׁלַ֣͏ִם מָלַ֗ךְ שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וְשָׁלֹשׁ֙ שָׁנָ֔ה עַ֥ל כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וִיהוּדָֽה׃
ἑπτὰ ἔτη καὶ ἓξ μῆνας ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Χεβρων ἐπὶ τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τριάκοντα τρία ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ πάντα Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδαν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ
In Hebron regnavit super Judam septem annis et sex mensibus : in Jerusalem autem regnavit triginta tribus annis super omnem Israël et Judam.
ወ፯ዓመተ፡ ወ፮አውራኀ፡ ነግሠ፡ በኬብሮን፡ ላዕለ፡ ይሁዳ ፤ ፴ወ፫ዓመተ፡ ነግሠ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወላዕለ፡ ይሁዳ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም።
In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
5:6
וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ וַֽאֲנָשָׁיו֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם אֶל־הַיְבֻסִ֖י יוֹשֵׁ֣ב הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר לְדָוִ֤ד לֵאמֹר֙ לֹא־תָב֣וֹא הֵ֔נָּה כִּ֣י אִם־הֱסִֽירְךָ֗ הַעִוְרִ֤ים וְהַפִּסְחִים֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹא־יָב֥וֹא דָוִ֖ד הֵֽנָּה׃
καὶ ἀπῆλθεν Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτοῦ εἰς Ιερουσαλημ πρὸς τὸν Ιεβουσαῖον τὸν κατοικοῦντα τὴν γῆν καὶ ἐρρέθη τῷ Δαυιδ οὐκ εἰσελεύσει ὧδε ὅτι ἀντέστησαν οἱ τυφλοὶ καὶ οἱ χωλοί λέγοντες ὅτι οὐκ εἰσελεύσεται Δαυιδ ὧδε
Et abiit rex, et omnes viri qui erant cum eo, in Jerusalem, ad Jebusaeum habitatorem terrae : dictumque est David ab eis : Non ingredieris huc, nisi abstuleris caecos et claudos dicentes : Non ingredietur David huc.
ወሖረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወሰብኡ፡ ውስተ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ኀበ፡ ኢያቡሴዎን፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ይእቲ፡ ምድር፡ ወይቤልዎ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ኢትበውእ፡ ዝየ፡ ወተቃወምዎ፡ ዕውራን፡ ወስቡራን፡ ወይቤሉ፡ ኢትበውእ፡ ዝየ፡ ዳዊት።
The king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, “The blind and the lame will keep you out of here,” thinking, “David can’t come in here.”
5:7
וַיִּלְכֹּ֣ד דָּוִ֔ד אֵ֖ת מְצֻדַ֣ת צִיּ֑וֹן הִ֖יא עִ֥יר דָּוִֽד׃
καὶ κατελάβετο Δαυιδ τὴν περιοχὴν Σιων αὕτη ἡ πόλις τοῦ Δαυιδ
Cepit autem David arcem Sion : haec est civitas David.
ወአስተጋብአ፡ ዳዊት፡ ቅጽራ፡ ለጽዮን፡ እንተ፡ ይእቲ፡ ሀገረ፡ ዳዊት።
Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. This is David’s city.
5:8
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא כׇּל־מַכֵּ֤ה יְבֻסִי֙ וְיִגַּ֣ע בַּצִּנּ֔וֹר וְאֶת־הַפִּסְחִים֙ וְאֶת־הַ֣עִוְרִ֔ים (שנאו) [שְׂנוּאֵ֖י] נֶ֣פֶשׁ דָּוִ֑ד עַל־כֵּן֙ יֹֽאמְר֔וּ עִוֵּ֣ר וּפִסֵּ֔חַ לֹ֥א יָב֖וֹא אֶל־הַבָּֽיִת׃
καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ πᾶς τύπτων Ιεβουσαῖον ἁπτέσθω ἐν παραξιφίδι καὶ τοὺς χωλοὺς καὶ τοὺς τυφλοὺς καὶ τοὺς μισοῦντας τὴν ψυχὴν Δαυιδ διὰ τοῦτο ἐροῦσιν τυφλοὶ καὶ χωλοὶ οὐκ εἰσελεύσονται εἰς οἶκον κυρίου
Proposuerat enim David in die illa praemium, qui percussisset Jebusaeum, et tetigisset domatum fistulas, et abstulisset caecos et claudos odientes animam David. Idcirco dicitur in proverbio : Caecus et claudus non intrabunt in templum.
ወይቤ፡ ዳዊት፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ኵሎ፡ ዘይቀትሎሙ፡ ለኢያቡሴዎን፡ ለይርግዞሙ፡ በኵናት፡ ለዕውራን፡ ወለስቡራን፡ ወለእለ፡ ይጻልእዋ፡ ለነፍሰ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወበበይነ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ይቤሉ፡ ዕውራን፡ ወስቡራን፡ ኢይባኡ፡ ቤት፡ እግዚአብሔር።
David said on that day, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him go up to the watercourse and strike those lame and blind, who are hated by David’s soul.” Therefore they say, “The blind and the lame can’t come into the house.”
5:9
וַיֵּ֤שֶׁב דָּוִד֙ בַּמְּצֻדָ֔ה וַיִּקְרָא־לָ֖הּ עִ֣יר דָּוִ֑ד וַיִּ֤בֶן דָּוִד֙ סָבִ֔יב מִן־הַמִּלּ֖וֹא וָבָֽיְתָה׃
καὶ ἐκάθισεν Δαυιδ ἐν τῇ περιοχῇ καὶ ἐκλήθη αὕτη ἡ πόλις Δαυιδ καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τὴν πόλιν κύκλῳ ἀπὸ τῆς ἄκρας καὶ τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ
Habitavit autem David in arce, et vocavit eam civitatem David : et aedificavit per gyrum a Mello et intrinsecus.
ወነበረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ውስተ፡ ቅጽር፡ ወተሰምየት፡ ይእቲ፡ ሀገረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወነደቀ፡ ሀገረ፡ እንተ፡ ዐውዱ፡ እምጽንፋ፡ ወቤቶሂ።
David lived in the stronghold, and called it David’s city. David built around from Millo and inward.
5:10
וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ דָּוִ֖ד הָל֣וֹךְ וְגָד֑וֹל וַיהֹוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י צְבָא֖וֹת עִמּֽוֹ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐπορεύετο Δαυιδ πορευόμενος καὶ μεγαλυνόμενος καὶ κύριος παντοκράτωρ μετ’ αὐτοῦ
Et ingrediebatur proficiens atque succrescens, et Dominus Deus exercituum erat cum eo.
ወሖረ፡ ዳዊት፡ እንዘ፡ የሐውር፡ ወየዐቢ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኵሎ፡ ይመልክ፡ ሀለወ፡ ምስሌሁ።
David grew greater and greater, for Yahweh, the God of Armies, was with him.
5:11
וַ֠יִּשְׁלַ֠ח חִירָ֨ם מֶלֶךְ־צֹ֥ר מַלְאָכִים֮ אֶל־דָּוִד֒ וַעֲצֵ֣י אֲרָזִ֔ים וְחָרָשֵׁ֣י עֵ֔ץ וְחָרָשֵׁ֖י אֶ֣בֶן קִ֑יר וַיִּבְנוּ־בַ֖יִת לְדָוִֽד׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Χιραμ βασιλεὺς Τύρου ἀγγέλους πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ ξύλα κέδρινα καὶ τέκτονας ξύλων καὶ τέκτονας λίθων καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν οἶκον τῷ Δαυιδ
Misit quoque Hiram rex Tyri nuntios ad David, et ligna cedrina, et artifices lignorum, artificesque lapidum ad parietes : et aedificaverunt domum David.
ወፈነወ፡ ኪራም፡ ንጉሠ፡ ጢሮስ፡ ሐዋርያተ፡ ኀበ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወዕፀወ፡ አርዝ፡ ወጸረብተ፡ ዕፅ፡ ወወቀርተ፡ እብን፡ ወሐነጸ፡ ቤተ፡ ለዳዊት።
Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, with cedar trees, carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.
5:12
וַיֵּ֣דַע דָּוִ֔ד כִּֽי־הֱכִינ֧וֹ יְהֹוָ֛ה לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְכִי֙ נִשֵּׂ֣א מַמְלַכְתּ֔וֹ בַּעֲב֖וּר עַמּ֥וֹ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ {ס}
καὶ ἔγνω Δαυιδ ὅτι ἡτοίμασεν αὐτὸν κύριος εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ὅτι ἐπήρθη ἡ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ διὰ τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ Ισραηλ
Et cognovit David quoniam confirmasset eum Dominus regem super Israël, et quoniam exaltasset regnum ejus super populum suum Israël.
ወአእመረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ከመ፡ አስትዳለዎ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይንግሥ፡ ላዕለ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወከመ፡ አልዐላ፡ ለመንግሥቱ፡ በእንተ፡ ሕዝቡ፡ እስራኤል።
David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.
5:13
וַיִּקַּח֩ דָּוִ֨ד ע֜וֹד פִּֽלַגְשִׁ֤ים וְנָשִׁים֙ מִיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם אַחֲרֵ֖י בֹּא֣וֹ מֵחֶבְר֑וֹן וַיִּוָּ֥לְדוּ ע֛וֹד לְדָוִ֖ד בָּנִ֥ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν Δαυιδ ἔτι γυναῖκας καὶ παλλακὰς ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ μετὰ τὸ ἐλθεῖν αὐτὸν ἐκ Χεβρων καὶ ἐγένοντο τῷ Δαυιδ ἔτι υἱοὶ καὶ θυγατέρες
Accepit ergo David adhuc concubinas et uxores de Jerusalem, postquam venerat de Hebron : natique sunt David et alii filii et filiae :
ወነሥአ፡ ዳዊት፡ ዓዲ፡ እንስት፡ ዕቁባት፡ እምነ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወእምድኅረ፡ መጽአ፡ ውስተ፡ ኬብሮን፡ ወእምዝ፡ ትወልዱ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ዓዲ፡ ደቂቅ፡ ወአዋልድ።
David took more concubines and wives for himself out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and more sons and daughters were born to David.
5:14
וְאֵ֗לֶּה שְׁמ֛וֹת הַיִּלֹּדִ֥ים ל֖וֹ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם שַׁמּ֣וּעַ וְשׁוֹבָ֔ב וְנָתָ֖ן וּשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃
καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν γεννηθέντων αὐτῷ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ Σαμμους καὶ Σωβαβ καὶ Ναθαν καὶ Σαλωμων
et haec nomina eorum, qui nati sunt ei in Jerusalem : Samua, et Sobab, et Nathan, et Salomon,
ወዝንቱ፡ ውእቱ፡ አስማቲሆሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ተወልዱ፡ ሎቱ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ ሶሙስ፡ ወሰባብ፡ ወናታን፡ ወሰሎሞን ፤
These are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
5:15
וְיִבְחָ֥ר וֶאֱלִישׁ֖וּעַ וְנֶ֥פֶג וְיָפִֽיעַ׃
καὶ Εβεαρ καὶ Ελισους καὶ Ναφεκ καὶ Ιεφιες
et Jebahar, et Elisua, et Nepheg,
ወኢየቤሖር፡ ወኢሊሱስ፡ ወናፌቅ፡ ወኢያፌሳ ፤
Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,
5:16
וֶאֱלִישָׁמָ֥ע וְאֶלְיָדָ֖ע וֶאֱלִיפָֽלֶט׃ {פ}
καὶ Ελισαμα καὶ Ελιδαε καὶ Ελιφαλαθ Σαμαε Ιεσσιβαθ Ναθαν Γαλαμααν Ιεβααρ Θεησους Ελφαλατ Ναγεδ Ναφεκ Ιαναθα Λεασαμυς Βααλιμαθ Ελιφαλαθ
et Japhia, et Elisama, et Elioda, et Eliphaleth.
ወኤልሶሚ፡ ወኢያጴዳሔ፡ ወኤሊፊት፡ ወሶሜዔ፡ ወኢየሰበቄ፡ ወናታን፡ ወገለማሔን፡ ወኢየብሖር፡ ወትሔሱስ፡ ወኢለፋሌድ፡ ወናጌድ፡ ወናፌቅ፡ ወእነትሕልያ፡ ወሳሚስ፡ ወበዓሊ፡ ወቦተ፡ ወኢሊፋለት።

5:17
וַיִּשְׁמְע֣וּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים כִּֽי־מָשְׁח֨וּ אֶת־דָּוִ֤ד לְמֶ֙לֶךְ֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיַּעֲל֥וּ כׇל־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים לְבַקֵּ֣שׁ אֶת־דָּוִ֑ד וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע דָּוִ֔ד וַיֵּ֖רֶד אֶל־הַמְּצוּדָֽה׃
καὶ ἤκουσαν ἀλλόφυλοι ὅτι κέχρισται Δαυιδ βασιλεὺς ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀνέβησαν πάντες οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι ζητεῖν τὸν Δαυιδ καὶ ἤκουσεν Δαυιδ καὶ κατέβη εἰς τὴν περιοχήν
Audierunt ergo Philisthiim quod unxissent David in regem super Israël, et ascenderunt universi ut quaererent David : quod cum audisset David, descendit in praesidium.
ወሰምዑ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ከመ፡ ቀብእዎ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ወአንገሥዎ፡ ላዕለ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወዐርጉ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ይኀሥሥዎ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ወወረደ፡ ውስተ፡ ቅጽር።
When the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David, but David heard about it and went down to the stronghold.
5:18
וּפְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים בָּ֑אוּ וַיִּנָּטְשׁ֖וּ בְּעֵ֥מֶק רְפָאִֽים׃
καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι παραγίνονται καὶ συνέπεσαν εἰς τὴν κοιλάδα τῶν τιτάνων
Philisthiim autem venientes diffusi sunt in valle Raphaim.
ወበጽሑ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ወወረዱ፡ ውስተ፡ ቈላተ፡ ጢጣኖስ።
Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
5:19
וַיִּשְׁאַ֨ל דָּוִ֤ד בַּֽיהֹוָה֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הַאֶֽעֱלֶה֙ אֶל־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים הֲתִתְּנֵ֖ם בְּיָדִ֑י {פ} וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֶל־דָּוִד֙ עֲלֵ֔ה כִּֽי־נָתֹ֥ן אֶתֵּ֛ן אֶת־הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים בְּיָדֶֽךָ׃
καὶ ἠρώτησεν Δαυιδ διὰ κυρίου λέγων εἰ ἀναβῶ πρὸς τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους καὶ παραδώσεις αὐτοὺς εἰς τὰς χεῖράς μου καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Δαυιδ ἀνάβαινε ὅτι παραδιδοὺς παραδώσω τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους εἰς τὰς χεῖράς σου
Et consuluit David Dominum, dicens : Si ascendam ad Philisthiim ? et si dabis eos in manu mea ? Et dixit Dominus ad David : Ascende, quia tradens dabo Philisthiim in manu tua.
ወተስእለ፡ ዳዊት፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይቤ፡ እዕርግኑ፡ ኀበ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ወታገብኦሙ፡ ውስተ፡ እዴየ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለዳዊት፡ ዕርግ፡ ወአግብኦ፡ ኣገብኦሙ፡ ውስት፡ እዴከ፡ ለኢሎፍሊ።
David inquired of Yahweh, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” Yahweh said to David, “Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
5:20
וַיָּבֹ֨א דָוִ֥ד בְּבַֽעַל־פְּרָצִים֮ וַיַּכֵּ֣ם שָׁ֣ם דָּוִד֒ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר פָּרַ֨ץ יְהֹוָ֧ה אֶת־אֹיְבַ֛י לְפָנַ֖י כְּפֶ֣רֶץ מָ֑יִם עַל־כֵּ֗ן קָרָ֛א שֵֽׁם־הַמָּק֥וֹם הַה֖וּא בַּ֥עַל פְּרָצִֽים׃
καὶ ἦλθεν Δαυιδ ἐκ τῶν ἐπάνω διακοπῶν καὶ ἔκοψεν τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους ἐκεῖ καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ διέκοψεν κύριος τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ ὡς διακόπτεται ὕδατα διὰ τοῦτο ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου ἐπάνω διακοπῶν
Venit ergo David in Baal Pharasim : et percussit eos ibi, et dixit : Divisit Dominus inimicos meos coram me, sicut dividuntur aquae. Propterea vocatum est nomen loci illius, Baal Pharasim.
ወመጽኦሙ፡ ዳዊት፡ እምነ፡ መልዕልተ፡ ምቅታል፡ ወቀተሎሙ፡ ለኢሎፍሊ፡ በህየ፡ ወይቤ፡ ዳዊት፡ ቀተሎሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለፀርየ፡ ለኢሎፍሊ፡ በቅድሜየ፡ ከመ፡ ክዕወተ፡ ማይ፡ ወበበይነ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ተሰምየ፡ ስሙ፡ ለውእቱ፡ መካን፡ መልዕልተ፡ ምቅታል።
David came to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there. Then he said, “Yahweh has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
5:21
וַיַּ֥עַזְבוּ שָׁ֖ם אֶת־עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֑ם וַיִּשָּׂאֵ֥ם דָּוִ֖ד וַאֲנָשָֽׁיו׃ {פ}
καὶ καταλιμπάνουσιν ἐκεῖ τοὺς θεοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐλάβοσαν αὐτοὺς Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ
Et reliquerunt ibi sculptilia sua, quae tulit David et viri ejus.
ወኀደጉ፡ በህየ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ፡ ወነሥኦሙ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወሰብእ፡ እለ፡ ምስሌሁ።
They left their images there, and David and his men took them away.
5:22
וַיֹּסִ֥פוּ ע֛וֹד פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים לַעֲל֑וֹת וַיִּנָּטְשׁ֖וּ בְּעֵ֥מֶק רְפָאִֽים׃
καὶ προσέθεντο ἔτι ἀλλόφυλοι τοῦ ἀναβῆναι καὶ συνέπεσαν ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι τῶν τιτάνων
Et addiderunt adhuc Philisthiim ut ascenderent, et diffusi sunt in valle Raphaim.
ወደገሙ፡ ዓዲ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ዐሪገ፡ ወወረዱ፡ ውስተ፡ ቄላተ፡ ጢጣኖስ።
The Philistines came up yet again and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
5:23
וַיִּשְׁאַ֤ל דָּוִד֙ בַּיהֹוָ֔ה וַיֹּ֖אמֶר לֹ֣א תַעֲלֶ֑ה הָסֵב֙ אֶל־אַ֣חֲרֵיהֶ֔ם וּבָ֥אתָ לָהֶ֖ם מִמּ֥וּל בְּכָאִֽים׃
καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν Δαυιδ διὰ κυρίου καὶ εἶπεν κύριος οὐκ ἀναβήσει εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτῶν ἀποστρέφου ἀπ’ αὐτῶν καὶ παρέσει αὐτοῖς πλησίον τοῦ κλαυθμῶνος
Consuluit autem David Dominum : Si ascendam contra Philisthaeos, et tradas eos in manus meas ? Qui respondit : Non ascendas contra eos, sed gyra post tergum eorum, et venies ad eos ex adverso pyrorum.
ወተስእለ፡ ዳዊት፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይቤሎ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዕርግ፡ ተቀበሎሙ፡ ወጕየይ፡ እምኔሆሙ፡ እስከ፡ ይበጽሑ፡ በገቦሁ፡ ለቀለውትሞኖስ።
When David inquired of Yahweh, he said, “You shall not go up. Circle around behind them, and attack them in front of the mulberry trees.
5:24
וִ֠יהִ֠י (בשמעך) [כְּֽשׇׁמְעֲךָ֞] אֶת־ק֧וֹל צְעָדָ֛ה בְּרָאשֵׁ֥י הַבְּכָאִ֖ים אָ֣ז תֶּחֱרָ֑ץ כִּ֣י אָ֗ז יָצָ֤א יְהֹוָה֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ לְהַכּ֖וֹת בְּמַחֲנֵ֥ה פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῷ ἀκοῦσαί σε τὴν φωνὴν τοῦ συγκλεισμοῦ τοῦ ἄλσους τοῦ κλαυθμῶνος τότε καταβήσει πρὸς αὐτούς ὅτι τότε ἐξελεύσεται κύριος ἔμπροσθέν σου κόπτειν ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων
Et cum audieris sonitum gradientis in cacumine pyrorum, tunc inibis praelium : quia tunc egredietur Dominus ante faciem tuam, ut percutiat castra Philisthiim.
ይእት፡ ጊዜ፡ ረድ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ እስመ፡ ይወፅእ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይእተ፡ ጊዜ፡ ቅድሜከ፡ ከመ፡ ይቅትሎሙ፡ ለኢሎፍሊ፡ በውስተ፡ ቀትል።
When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then stir yourself up; for then Yahweh has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
5:25
וַיַּ֤עַשׂ דָּוִד֙ כֵּ֔ן כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֖הוּ יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים מִגֶּ֖בַע עַד־בֹּאֲךָ֥ גָֽזֶר׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐποίησεν Δαυιδ καθὼς ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ κύριος καὶ ἐπάταξεν τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους ἀπὸ Γαβαων ἕως τῆς γῆς Γαζηρα
Fecit itaque David sicut praeceperat ei Dominus, et percussit Philisthiim de Gabaa usque dum venias Gezer.
ወገብረ፡ ዳዊት፡ በከመ፡ አዘዞ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወቀተሎሙ፡ ለኢሎፍሊ፡ እምነ፡ ገባኦን፡ እስከ፡ ምድረ፡ ጌሴራ።
David did so, as Yahweh commanded him, and struck the Philistines all the way from Geba to Gezer.
