12:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ בֶּן ־שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִ֖ים יְהוֹאָ֥שׁ בְּמׇלְכֽוֹ ׃ {פ}
υἱὸς ἐτῶν ἑπτὰ Ιωας ἐν τῷ βασιλεύειν αὐτόν
Anno septimo Jehu , regnavit Joas : et quadraginta annis regnavit in Jerusalem . Nomen matris ejus Sebia de Bersabee .
አመ ፡ ሳብዕ ፡ ዓመተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ለኢዩ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ ኢዮአስ ፡ ወ፵ክረምተ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ወስማ ፡ ለእሙ ፡ አብያ ፡ ወለተ ፡ ቤርሳቤሕ ።
Jehoash was seven years old when he began to reign.
12:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ בִּשְׁנַת ־שֶׁ֤בַע לְיֵהוּא֙ מָלַ֣ךְ יְהוֹאָ֔שׁ וְאַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ צִבְיָ֖ה מִבְּאֵ֥ר שָֽׁבַע ׃
ἐν ἔτει ἑβδόμῳ τῷ Ιου ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωας καὶ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Αβια ἐκ τῆς Βηρσαβεε
Fecitque Joas rectum coram Domino cunctis diebus quibus docuit eum Jojada sacerdos .
ወገብረ ፡ ኢዮአስ ፡ ጽድቀ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ዘመሀሮ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ካህን ።
Jehoash began to reign in the seventh year of Jehu, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.
12:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֨עַשׂ יְהוֹאָ֧שׁ הַיָּשָׁ֛ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה כׇּל ־יָמָ֑יו אֲשֶׁ֣ר הוֹרָ֔הוּ יְהוֹיָדָ֖ע הַכֹּהֵֽן ׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν Ιωας τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον κυρίου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἃς ἐφώτισεν αὐτὸν Ιωδαε ὁ ἱερεύς
Verumtamen excelsa non abstulit : adhuc enim populus immolabat , et adolebat in excelsis incensum .
ወባሕቱ ፡ አብያተ ፡ አማልክት ፡ ኢያሰሰለ ፡ ወሕዝብኒ ፡ ህየ ፡ ዳእሙ ፡ የዐጥኑ ፡ ወይሠውዑ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ አማልክት ።
Jehoash did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes all his days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
12:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ רַ֥ק הַבָּמ֖וֹת לֹא ־סָ֑רוּ ע֥וֹד הָעָ֛ם מְזַבְּחִ֥ים וּֽמְקַטְּרִ֖ים בַּבָּמֽוֹת ׃
πλὴν τῶν ὑψηλῶν οὐ μετεστάθησαν καὶ ἐκεῖ ἔτι ὁ λαὸς ἐθυσίαζεν καὶ ἐθυμίων ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς
Dixitque Joas ad sacerdotes : Omnem pecuniam sanctorum , quae illata fuerit in templum Domini a praetereuntibus , quae offertur pro pretio animae , et quam sponte et arbitrio cordis sui inferunt in templum Domini :
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ኢዮአስ ፡ ለካህናት ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ዘይቄድሱ ፡ ወያበውኡ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወወርቀኒ ፡ ዘቤዘ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ዘበፈቃዱ ፡ ያበውእ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤
However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.
12:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוֹאָ֜שׁ אֶל ־הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים כֹּל֩ כֶּ֨סֶף הַקֳּדָשִׁ֜ים אֲשֶׁר ־יוּבָ֤א בֵית ־יְהֹוָה֙ כֶּ֣סֶף עוֹבֵ֔ר אִ֕ישׁ כֶּ֥סֶף נַפְשׁ֖וֹת עֶרְכּ֑וֹ כׇּל ־כֶּ֗סֶף אֲשֶׁ֤ר יַֽעֲלֶה֙ עַ֣ל לֶב ־אִ֔ישׁ לְהָבִ֖יא בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ιωας πρὸς τοὺς ἱερεῖς πᾶν τὸ ἀργύριον τῶν ἁγίων τὸ εἰσοδιαζόμενον ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ κυρίου ἀργύριον συντιμήσεως ἀνὴρ ἀργύριον λαβὼν συντιμήσεως πᾶν ἀργύριον ὃ ἐὰν ἀναβῇ ἐπὶ καρδίαν ἀνδρὸς ἐνεγκεῖν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
accipiant illam sacerdotes juxta ordinem suum , et instaurent sartatecta domus , si quid necessarium viderint instauratione .
ለይንሥኡ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ለርእሶሙ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ተግባሩ ፡ ወለሊሆሙ ፡ ይዕቀቡ ፡ ቤዴቀ ፡ ዘበቤቱ ።
Jehoash said to the priests, “All the money of the holy things that is brought into Yahweh’s house, in current money, the money of the people for whom each man is evaluated, and all the money that it comes into any man’s heart to bring into Yahweh’s house,
12:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ יִקְח֤וּ לָהֶם֙ הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים אִ֖ישׁ מֵאֵ֣ת מַכָּר֑וֹ וְהֵ֗ם יְחַזְּקוּ֙ אֶת ־בֶּ֣דֶק הַבַּ֔יִת לְכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁר ־יִמָּצֵ֥א שָׁ֖ם בָּֽדֶק ׃ {פ}
λαβέτωσαν ἑαυτοῖς οἱ ἱερεῖς ἀνὴρ ἀπὸ τῆς πράσεως αὐτῶν καὶ αὐτοὶ κρατήσουσιν τὸ βεδεκ τοῦ οἴκου εἰς πάντα οὗ ἐὰν εὑρεθῇ ἐκεῖ βεδεκ
Igitur usque ad vigesimum tertium annum regis Joas , non instauraverunt sacerdotes sartatecta templi .
ወእምዝ ፡ አመ ፡ ፴ወ፫ዓመተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ለኢዮአስ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ርእየ ፡ ኢዮአስ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢዐቀቡ ፡ ቤዴቀ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ቤቱ ፤
let the priests take it to them, each man from his donor; and they shall repair the damage to the house, wherever any damage is found.”
12:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֗י בִּשְׁנַ֨ת עֶשְׂרִ֧ים וְשָׁלֹ֛שׁ שָׁנָ֖ה לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ יְהוֹאָ֑שׁ לֹא ־חִזְּק֥וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים אֶת ־בֶּ֥דֶק הַבָּֽיִת ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ εἰκοστῷ καὶ τρίτῳ ἔτει τῷ βασιλεῖ Ιωας οὐκ ἐκραταίωσαν οἱ ἱερεῖς τὸ βεδεκ τοῦ οἴκου
Vocavitque rex Joas Jojadam pontificem et sacerdotes , dicens eis : Quare sartatecta non instauratis templi ? nolite ergo amplius accipere pecuniam juxta ordinem vestrum , sed ad instaurationem templi reddite eam .
ጸውዖ ፡ ኢዮአስ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ለዮዳሔ ፡ ካህን ፡ ወለካህናትኒ ፡ ወይቤሎሙ ፡ በእፎ ፡ ኢዐቀብክሙ ፡ ቤዴቀ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ቤት ፤ እምይእዜ ፡ እንከ ፡ ኢትንሥኡ ፡ ወርቆ ፡ ለተግባርክሙ ፤ ለቤዴቅ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ቤት ፡ ያብእዎ ።
But it was so, that in the twenty-third year of King Jehoash the priests had not repaired the damage to the house.
12:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקְרָא֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ יְהוֹאָ֜שׁ לִיהוֹיָדָ֤ע הַכֹּהֵן֙ וְלַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם מַדּ֛וּעַ אֵינְכֶ֥ם מְחַזְּקִ֖ים אֶת ־בֶּ֣דֶק הַבָּ֑יִת וְעַתָּ֗ה אַל ־תִּקְחֽוּ ־כֶ֙סֶף֙ מֵאֵ֣ת מַכָּרֵיכֶ֔ם כִּֽי ־לְבֶ֥דֶק הַבַּ֖יִת תִּתְּנֻֽהוּ ׃
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Ιωας ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωδαε τὸν ἱερέα καὶ τοὺς ἱερεῖς καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς τί ὅτι οὐκ ἐκραταιοῦτε τὸ βεδεκ τοῦ οἴκου καὶ νῦν μὴ λάβητε ἀργύριον ἀπὸ τῶν πράσεων ὑμῶν ὅτι εἰς τὸ βεδεκ τοῦ οἴκου δώσετε αὐτό
Prohibitique sunt sacerdotes ultra accipere pecuniam a populo , et instaurare sartatecta domus .
ወተካየዱ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይንሥኡ ፡ እንከ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ መባእ ፡ ዘሕዝብ ፡ ወከመ ፡ ይዕቀቡ ፡ ቤዴቀ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ቤት ።
Then King Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the other priests, and said to them, “Why aren’t you repairing the damage to the house? Now therefore take no more money from your treasurers, but deliver it for repair of the damage to the house.”
12:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּאֹ֖תוּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֑ים לְבִלְתִּ֤י קְחַת ־כֶּ֙סֶף֙ מֵאֵ֣ת הָעָ֔ם וּלְבִלְתִּ֥י חַזֵּ֖ק אֶת ־בֶּ֥דֶק הַבָּֽיִת ׃
καὶ συνεφώνησαν οἱ ἱερεῖς τοῦ μὴ λαβεῖν ἀργύριον παρὰ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ τοῦ μὴ ἐνισχῦσαι τὸ βεδεκ τοῦ οἴκου
Et tulit Jojada pontifex gazophylacium unum , aperuitque foramen desuper , et posuit illud juxta altare ad dexteram ingredientium domum Domini : mittebantque in eo sacerdotes qui custodiebant ostia , omnem pecuniam quae deferebatur ad templum Domini .
ወነሥአ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ካህን ፡ አሐተ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ወሰቈራ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሰሌዳሃ ፡ ወአንበራ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አሚቢን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ ለመጋቤ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአግብኡ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ወርቆ ፡ ዘተረክበ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በመድሎቱ ።
The priests consented that they should take no more money from the people, and not repair the damage to the house.
12:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקַּ֞ח יְהוֹיָדָ֤ע הַכֹּהֵן֙ אֲר֣וֹן אֶחָ֔ד וַיִּקֹּ֥ב חֹ֖ר בְּדַלְתּ֑וֹ וַיִּתֵּ֣ן אֹתוֹ֩ אֵ֨צֶל הַמִּזְבֵּ֜חַ (בימין ) [מִיָּמִ֗ין ] בְּבוֹא ־אִישׁ֙ בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֔ה וְנָֽתְנוּ ־שָׁ֤מָּה הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ שֹׁמְרֵ֣י הַסַּ֔ף אֶת ־כׇּל ־הַכֶּ֖סֶף הַמּוּבָ֥א בֵית ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωδαε ὁ ἱερεὺς κιβωτὸν μίαν καὶ ἔτρησεν τρώγλην ἐπὶ τῆς σανίδος αὐτῆς καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν παρὰ ιαμιβιν ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ ἀνδρὸς οἴκου κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκαν οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ φυλάσσοντες τὸν σταθμὸν πᾶν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
Cumque viderent nimiam pecuniam esse in gazophylacio , ascendebat scriba regis , et pontifex , effundebantque et numerabant pecuniam quae inveniebatur in domo Domini :
ወሶበ ፡ ርእዩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ ወርቁ ፡ ዘተረክበ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ታቦት ፡ ዐርገ ፡ ጸሓፌ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወካህናት ፡ ወኈለቍዎ ፡ ወርቆ ፡ ወአስርዎ ፡ ዐቍሮሙ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ዘረከቡ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
But Jehoiada the priest took a chest and bored a hole in its lid, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one comes into Yahweh’s house; and the priests who kept the threshold put all the money that was brought into Yahweh’s house into it.
12:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיְהִי֙ כִּרְאוֹתָ֔ם כִּי ־רַ֥ב הַכֶּ֖סֶף בָּאָר֑וֹן וַיַּ֨עַל סֹפֵ֤ר הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְהַכֹּהֵ֣ן הַגָּד֔וֹל וַיָּצֻ֙רוּ֙ וַיִּמְנ֔וּ אֶת ־הַכֶּ֖סֶף הַנִּמְצָ֥א בֵית ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἶδον ὅτι πολὺ τὸ ἀργύριον ἐν τῇ κιβωτῷ καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ γραμματεὺς τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας καὶ ἔσφιγξαν καὶ ἠρίθμησαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
et dabant eam juxta numerum atque mensuram in manu eorum qui praeerant caementariis domus Domini : qui impendebant eam in fabris lignorum et in caementariis , iis qui operabantur in domo Domini ,
ወአዘዘ ፡ ይንሥኡ ፡ መገብተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ዘይበውእ ፡ ለፃእፃእ ፡ ይኩኖሙ ፡ ዘይሁቡ ፡ ለጸረብተ ፡ ዕፅ ፡ ወለነደቅት ፡ እለ ፡ የሐንጹ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤
When they saw that there was much money in the chest, the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put it in bags and counted the money that was found in Yahweh’s house.
12:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְנָֽתְנוּ֙ אֶת ־הַכֶּ֣סֶף הַֽמְתֻכָּ֔ן עַל ־[יְדֵי֙ ] (יד ) עֹשֵׂ֣י הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה (הפקדים ) [הַמֻּפְקָדִ֖ים ] בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיּוֹצִיאֻ֜הוּ לְחָרָשֵׁ֤י הָעֵץ֙ וְלַבֹּנִ֔ים הָעֹשִׂ֖ים בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἔδωκαν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ ἑτοιμασθὲν ἐπὶ χεῖρας ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα τῶν ἐπισκόπων οἴκου κυρίου καὶ ἐξέδοσαν τοῖς τέκτοσιν τῶν ξύλων καὶ τοῖς οἰκοδόμοις τοῖς ποιοῦσιν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
et sartatecta faciebant : et in iis qui caedebant saxa , et ut emerent ligna , et lapides , qui excidebantur , ita ut impleretur instauratio domus Domini in universis quae indigebant expensa ad muniendam domum .
ወለመገይራን ፡ ወለወቀርተ ፡ እብን ፡ በዘ ፡ ይሣየጡ ፡ እብነ ፡ ውቁረ ፡ ወዕፀ ፡ ጽሩበ ፡ በዘየዐቅቡ ፡ ቤዴቀ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወለኵሉ ፡ ፃእፃአ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በዘ ፡ የዐቅቡ ፤
They gave the money that was weighed out into the hands of those who did the work, who had the oversight of Yahweh’s house; and they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders who worked on Yahweh’s house,
12:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלַגֹּֽדְרִים֙ וּלְחֹצְבֵ֣י הָאֶ֔בֶן וְלִקְנ֤וֹת עֵצִים֙ וְאַבְנֵ֣י מַחְצֵ֔ב לְחַזֵּ֖ק אֶת ־בֶּ֣דֶק בֵּית ־יְהֹוָ֑ה וּלְכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁר ־יֵצֵ֥א עַל ־הַבַּ֖יִת לְחׇזְקָֽה ׃
καὶ τοῖς τειχισταῖς καὶ τοῖς λατόμοις τῶν λίθων τοῦ κτήσασθαι ξύλα καὶ λίθους λατομητοὺς τοῦ κατασχεῖν τὸ βεδεκ οἴκου κυρίου εἰς πάντα ὅσα ἐξωδιάσθη ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ κραταιῶσαι
Verumtamen non fiebant ex eadem pecunia hydriae templi Domini , et fuscinulae , et thuribula , et tubae , et omne vas aureum et argenteum , de pecunia quae inferebatur in templum Domini .
እንበለ ፡ መዓጹት ፡ ዘብሩር ፡ ዘይገብሩ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወፍያላትኒ ፡ ወአቅርንትኒ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ንዋየ ፡ ወርቅ ፡ ወብሩር ፡ ዘይበውእ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤
and to the masons and the stone cutters, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the damage to Yahweh’s house, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
12:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ אַךְ֩ לֹ֨א יֵעָשֶׂ֜ה בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֗ה סִפּ֥וֹת כֶּ֙סֶף֙ מְזַמְּר֤וֹת מִזְרָקוֹת֙ חֲצֹ֣צְר֔וֹת כׇּל ־כְּלִ֥י זָהָ֖ב וּכְלִי ־כָ֑סֶף מִן ־הַכֶּ֖סֶף הַמּוּבָ֥א בֵית ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃
πλὴν οὐ ποιηθήσεται οἴκῳ κυρίου θύραι ἀργυραῖ ἧλοι φιάλαι καὶ σάλπιγγες πᾶν σκεῦος χρυσοῦν καὶ σκεῦος ἀργυροῦν ἐκ τοῦ ἀργυρίου τοῦ εἰσενεχθέντος ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
Iis enim qui faciebant opus , dabatur ut instauraretur templum Domini :
አዘዘ ፡ ይመጥውዎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይገብሩ ፡ ግብሮ ፡ ወቦቱ ፡ ይዕቀቡ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
But there were not made for Yahweh’s house cups of silver, snuffers, basins, trumpets, any vessels of gold or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into Yahweh’s house;
12:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־לְעֹשֵׂ֥י הַמְּלָאכָ֖ה יִתְּנֻ֑הוּ וְחִזְּקוּ ־ב֖וֹ אֶת ־בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
ὅτι τοῖς ποιοῦσιν τὰ ἔργα δώσουσιν αὐτό καὶ ἐκραταίωσαν ἐν αὐτῷ τὸν οἶκον κυρίου
et non fiebat ratio iis hominibus qui accipiebant pecuniam ut distribuerent eam artificibus , sed in fide tractabant eam .
ወኢትትሓሰብዎሙ ፡ ለእሙንቱ ፡ ዕደው ፡ እለ ፡ ይነሥኡ ፡ ወርቆ ፡ ወያስተዋፅእዎ ፡ ለግብሮሙ ፡ በሃይማኖቶሙ ።
for they gave that to those who did the work, and repaired Yahweh’s house with it.
12:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹ֧א יְחַשְּׁב֣וּ אֶת ־הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִתְּנ֤וּ אֶת ־הַכֶּ֙סֶף֙ עַל ־יָדָ֔ם לָתֵ֖ת לְעֹשֵׂ֣י הַמְּלָאכָ֑ה כִּ֥י בֶאֱמֻנָ֖ה הֵ֥ם עֹשִֽׂים ׃
καὶ οὐκ ἐξελογίζοντο τοὺς ἄνδρας οἷς ἐδίδουν τὸ ἀργύριον ἐπὶ χεῖρας αὐτῶν δοῦναι τοῖς ποιοῦσιν τὰ ἔργα ὅτι ἐν πίστει αὐτῶν ποιοῦσιν
Pecuniam vero pro delicto , et pecuniam pro peccatis non inferebant in templum Domini , quia sacerdotum erat .
ወወርቅሰ ፡ ዘበእንተ ፡ ኀጢአት ፡ ወዘበእንተ ፡ ንስሓኒ ፡ ዘይበውእ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለካህናት ፡ ውእቱ ።
Moreover they didn’t demand an accounting from the men into whose hand they delivered the money to give to those who did the work; for they dealt faithfully.
12:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ כֶּ֤סֶף אָשָׁם֙ וְכֶ֣סֶף חַטָּא֔וֹת לֹ֥א יוּבָ֖א בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה לַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים יִהְיֽוּ ׃ {פ}
ἀργύριον περὶ ἁμαρτίας καὶ ἀργύριον περὶ πλημμελείας ὅ τι εἰσηνέχθη ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν ἐγένετο
Tunc ascendit Hazaël rex Syriae , et pugnabat contra Geth , cepitque eam : et direxit faciem suam ut ascenderet in Jerusalem .
ወበውእቱ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ዐርገ ፡ አዛሔል ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ሶርያ ፡ ወተቃተሎሙ ፡ ለጌት ፡ ወነሥኣ ፡ ለጌት ፡ ወአስተጋብኣ ፡ ወፈነወ ፡ አዛሔል ፡ ሰራዊት ፡ ይዕርጉ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ አቅዲሞ ፡ እምኔሁ ።
The money for the trespass offerings and the money for the sin offerings was not brought into Yahweh’s house. It was the priests’.
12:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ אָ֣ז יַעֲלֶ֗ה חֲזָאֵל֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָ֔ם וַיִּלָּ֥חֶם עַל ־גַּ֖ת וַֽיִּלְכְּדָ֑הּ וַיָּ֤שֶׂם חֲזָאֵל֙ פָּנָ֔יו לַעֲל֖וֹת עַל ־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃
τότε ἀνέβη Αζαηλ βασιλεὺς Συρίας καὶ ἐπολέμησεν ἐπὶ Γεθ καὶ προκατελάβετο αὐτήν καὶ ἔταξεν Αζαηλ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἀναβῆναι ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ
Quam ob rem tulit Joas rex Juda omnia sanctificata quae consecraverant Josaphat , et Joram , et Ochozias , patres ejus reges Juda , et quae ipse obtulerat : et universum argentum quod inveniri potuit in thesauris templi Domini et in palatio regis : misitque Hazaëli regi Syriae , et recessit ab Jerusalem .
ወነሥአ ፡ ኢዮአስ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ዘቅድሳ [ት ]፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘቀደሱ ፡ አበዊሁ ፡ ዮሳፍጥ ፡ ወኢዮራም ፡ ወአካዝያስ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወዚአሁኒ ፡ ዘቀደሰ ፡ ለሊሁ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ዘተረክበ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መዝገበ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወዘቤተ ፡ ንጉሥኒ ፡ ወፈነወ ፡ ለአዛሔል ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ሶርያ ፡ ወገብአ ፡ አዛሔል ፡ ወኀደጋ ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም ።
Then Hazael king of Syria went up and fought against Gath, and took it; and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
12:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקַּ֞ח יְהוֹאָ֣שׁ מֶלֶךְ ־יְהוּדָ֗ה אֵ֣ת כׇּל ־הַקֳּדָשִׁ֡ים אֲשֶׁר ־הִקְדִּ֣ישׁוּ יְהוֹשָׁפָ֣ט וִיהוֹרָם֩ וַאֲחַזְיָ֨הוּ אֲבֹתָ֜יו מַלְכֵ֤י יְהוּדָה֙ וְאֶת ־קֳדָשָׁ֔יו וְאֵ֣ת כׇּל ־הַזָּהָ֗ב הַנִּמְצָ֛א בְּאֹצְר֥וֹת בֵּית ־יְהֹוָ֖ה וּבֵ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח לַֽחֲזָאֵל֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָ֔ם וַיַּ֖עַל מֵעַ֥ל יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם ׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα πάντα τὰ ἅγια ὅσα ἡγίασεν Ιωσαφατ καὶ Ιωραμ καὶ Οχοζιας οἱ πατέρες αὐτοῦ καὶ βασιλεῖς Ιουδα καὶ τὰ ἅγια αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶν τὸ χρυσίον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν θησαυροῖς οἴκου κυρίου καὶ οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τῷ Αζαηλ βασιλεῖ Συρίας καὶ ἀνέβη ἀπὸ Ιερουσαλημ
Reliqua autem sermonum Joas , et universa quae fecit , nonne haec scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Juda ?
ወኵሉ ፡ ነገሩ ፡ ለኢዮአስ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዘጽሑፍ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ መዋዕሊሆሙ ፡ ለነገሥተ ፡ ይሁዳ ።
Jehoash king of Judah took all the holy things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own holy things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and of the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria; and he went away from Jerusalem.
12:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י יוֹאָ֖שׁ וְכׇל ־אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲלוֹא ־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל ־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה ׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ιωας καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ιουδα
Surrexerunt autem servi ejus , et conjuraverunt inter se , percusseruntque Joas in domo Mello in descensu Sella .
ወተንሥኡ ፡ አግብርቲሁ ፡ ወአስተቋጸሩ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ በኵለሄ ፡ ማዕሌተ ፡ ወቀተልዎ ፡ ለኢዮአስ ፡ በቤተ ፡ ማኅሎ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ገዳም ።
Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
12:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּקֻ֥מוּ עֲבָדָ֖יו וַיִּקְשְׁרוּ ־קָ֑שֶׁר וַיַּכּוּ֙ אֶת ־יוֹאָ֔שׁ בֵּ֥ית מִלֹּ֖א הַיֹּרֵ֥ד סִלָּֽא ׃
καὶ ἀνέστησαν οἱ δοῦλοι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔδησαν πάντα σύνδεσμον καὶ ἐπάταξαν τὸν Ιωας ἐν οἴκῳ Μαλλω τῷ ἐν Γααλλα
Josachar namque filius Semaath , et Jozabad filius Somer servi ejus , percusserunt eum , et mortuus est : et sepelierunt eum cum patribus suis in civitate David : regnavitque Amasias filius ejus pro eo .
ኢያዜክር ፡ ወኢያሙሐድ ፡ ወኢያዛብድ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ እሉ ፡ አግብርቲሁ ፡ እለ ፡ ቀተልዎ ፡ ወሞተ ፡ ወቀበርዎ ፡ ምስለ ፡ አበዊሁ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ አሜስያስ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ።
His servants arose and made a conspiracy, and struck Joash at the house of Millo, on the way that goes down to Silla.
12:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיוֹזָכָ֣ר בֶּן ־שִׁ֠מְעָ֠ת וִיהוֹזָבָ֨ד בֶּן ־שֹׁמֵ֤ר ׀עֲבָדָיו֙ הִכֻּ֣הוּ וַיָּמֹ֔ת וַֽיִּקְבְּר֥וּ אֹת֛וֹ עִם ־אֲבֹתָ֖יו בְּעִ֣יר דָּוִ֑ד וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אֲמַצְיָ֥ה בְנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו ׃ {פ}
καὶ Ιεζιχαρ υἱὸς Ιεμουαθ καὶ Ιεζεβουθ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ Σωμηρ οἱ δοῦλοι αὐτοῦ ἐπάταξαν αὐτόν καὶ ἀπέθανεν καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Αμεσσιας υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ
— — For Jozacar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, struck him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in David’s city; and Amaziah his son reigned in his place.
