5:1
וַתִּשְׁלַם֙ כׇּל־הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֥ה שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לְבֵ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה {ס} וַיָּבֵ֨א שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה אֶת־קׇדְשֵׁ֣י׀ דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֗יו וְאֶת־הַכֶּ֤סֶף וְאֶת־הַזָּהָב֙ וְאֶת־כׇּל־הַכֵּלִ֔ים נָתַ֕ן בְּאֹצְר֖וֹת בֵּ֥ית הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ {פ}
καὶ συνετελέσθη πᾶσα ἡ ἐργασία ἣν ἐποίησεν Σαλωμων ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν Σαλωμων τὰ ἅγια Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ τὸ χρυσίον καὶ τὰ σκεύη ἔδωκεν εἰς θησαυρὸν οἴκου κυρίου
Intulit igitur Salomon omnia quae voverat David pater suus : argentum, et aurum, et universa vasa posuit in thesauris domus Dei.
ወአብአ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ንጉሥ፡ ቅድሳተ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡሁ፡ ወርቀኒ፡ ወብሩረኒ፡ ወኵሎ፡ ንዋየ፡ ብሩር፡ ዘአብአ፡ ዳዊት፡ ለመዛግብተ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Thus all the work that Solomon did for Yahweh’s house was finished. Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver, the gold, and all the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of God’s house.
5:2
אָז֩ יַקְהֵ֨יל שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה אֶת־זִקְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְאֶת־כׇּל־רָאשֵׁ֨י הַמַּטּ֜וֹת נְשִׂיאֵ֧י הָאָב֛וֹת לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל־יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם לְֽהַעֲל֞וֹת אֶת־אֲר֧וֹן בְּרִית־יְהֹוָ֛ה מֵעִ֥יר דָּוִ֖יד הִ֥יא צִיּֽוֹן׃
τότε ἐξεκκλησίασεν Σαλωμων τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους Ισραηλ καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἄρχοντας τῶν φυλῶν τοὺς ἡγουμένους πατριῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ εἰς Ιερουσαλημ τοῦ ἀνενέγκαι κιβωτὸν διαθήκης κυρίου ἐκ πόλεως Δαυιδ αὕτη Σιων
Post quae congregavit majores natu Israël, et cunctos principes tribuum, et capita familiarum de filiis Israël in Jerusalem, ut adducerent arcam foederis Domini de civitate David, quae est Sion.
ወአሜሃ፡ አስተጋብአ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ኵሎ፡ መላህቅተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወኵሎ፡ መላእክተ፡ ነገድ፡ ወኵሎ፡ መሳፍንተ፡ አበው፡ ዘደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ ከመ፡ ያዕርጉ፡ ታቦተ፡ ትእዛዙ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ እምሀገረ፡ ዳዊት፡ እንተ፡ ስማ፡ ጽዮን።
Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.
5:3
וַיִּקָּהֲל֧וּ אֶל־הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ כׇּל־אִ֥ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בֶּחָ֑ג ה֖וּא הַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃
καὶ ἐξεκκλησιάσθησαν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα πᾶς ἀνὴρ Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ οὗτος ὁ μὴν ἕβδομος
Venerunt itaque ad regem omnes viri Israël in die solemni mensis septimi.
ወተጋብኡ፡ ኀበ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እደወ፡ እስራኤል፡ በበዓል፡ ወዝንቱ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወርኅ፡ ሳብዕ።
So all the men of Israel assembled themselves to the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month.
5:4
וַיָּבֹ֕אוּ כֹּ֖ל זִקְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ הַלְוִיִּ֖ם אֶת־הָאָרֽוֹן׃
καὶ ἦλθον πάντες οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Ισραηλ καὶ ἔλαβον πάντες οἱ Λευῖται τὴν κιβωτὸν
Cumque venissent cuncti seniorum Israël, portaverunt Levitae arcam,
ወመጽኡ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ መላህቅተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወነሥእዋ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ሌዋውያን፡ ለታቦት።
All the elders of Israel came. The Levites took up the ark.
5:5
וַיַּעֲל֤וּ אֶת־הָאָרוֹן֙ וְאֶת־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד וְאֶת־כׇּל־כְּלֵ֥י הַקֹּ֖דֶשׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּאֹ֑הֶל הֶעֱל֣וּ אֹתָ֔ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים הַלְוִיִּֽם׃
καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν τὴν κιβωτὸν καὶ τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ ἅγια τὰ ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν αὐτὴν οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται
et intulerunt eam, et omnem paraturam tabernaculi. Porro vasa sanctuarii, quae erant in tabernaculo, portaverunt sacerdotes cum Levitis.
ወአዕረግዋ፡ ለይእቲ፡ ታቦት፡ ወለደብተራ፡ ስምዕ፡ ወለኵሉ፡ ንዋያተ፡ ግብር፡ ዘቅድሳት፡ ዘሀሎ፡ ውስተ፡ ደብተራ፡ ወአዕረግዋ፡ ካህናት፡ ወሌዋውያን።
They brought up the ark, the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent. The Levitical priests brought these up.
5:6
וְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה וְכׇל־עֲדַ֧ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל הַנּוֹעָדִ֥ים עָלָ֖יו לִפְנֵ֣י הָאָר֑וֹן מְזַבְּחִים֙ צֹ֣אן וּבָקָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹא־יִסָּפְר֛וּ וְלֹ֥א יִמָּנ֖וּ מֵרֹֽב׃
καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων καὶ πᾶσα συναγωγὴ Ισραηλ καὶ οἱ φοβούμενοι καὶ οἱ ἐπισυνηγμένοι αὐτῶν ἔμπροσθεν τῆς κιβωτοῦ θύοντες μόσχους καὶ πρόβατα οἳ οὐκ ἀριθμηθήσονται καὶ οἳ οὐ λογισθήσονται ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθους
Rex autem Salomon, et universus coetus Israël, et omnes qui fuerunt congregati ante arcam, immolabant arietes et boves absque ullo numero : tanta enim erat multitudo victimarum.
ወሰሎሞን፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ ማኅበረ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ ፈራህያነ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በቅድመ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ይሡዑ፡ አልሕምተ፡ ወአባግዐ፡ ወአጣሌ፡ ዘአልቦ፡ ኍልቊ፡ ወመስፈርት፡ ወአልቦሙ፡ ሐሳብ፡ እምብዝኆሙ።
King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled to him were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.
5:7
וַיָּבִ֣יאוּ הַ֠כֹּהֲנִ֠ים אֶת־אֲר֨וֹן בְּרִית־יְהֹוָ֧ה אֶל־מְקוֹמ֛וֹ אֶל־דְּבִ֥יר הַבַּ֖יִת אֶל־קֹ֣דֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁ֑ים אֶל־תַּ֖חַת כַּנְפֵ֥י הַכְּרוּבִֽים׃
καὶ εἰσήνεγκαν οἱ ἱερεῖς τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης κυρίου εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτῆς εἰς τὸ δαβιρ τοῦ οἴκου εἰς τὰ ἅγια τῶν ἁγίων ὑποκάτω τῶν πτερύγων τῶν χερουβιν
Et intulerunt sacerdotes arcam foederis Domini in locum suum, id est, ad oraculum templi, in Sancta sanctorum subter alas cherubim :
ወአብእዋ፡ ካህናት፡ ለታቦተ፡ ትእዛዘ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ውስተ፡ መካና፡ ዘአስተዳለዉ፡ ላቲ፡ በዳቤር፡ ውስተ፡ ቅድስተ፡ ቅዱሳን፡ መትሕተ፡ ክነፊሆሙ፡ ለኪሩቤል።
The priests brought in the ark of Yahweh’s covenant to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.
5:8
וַיִּהְי֤וּ הַכְּרוּבִים֙ פֹּרְשִׂ֣ים כְּנָפַ֔יִם עַל־מְק֖וֹם הָאָר֑וֹן וַיְכַסּ֧וּ הַכְּרוּבִ֛ים עַל־הָאָר֥וֹן וְעַל־בַּדָּ֖יו מִלְמָֽעְלָה׃
καὶ ἦν τὰ χερουβιν διαπεπετακότα τὰς πτέρυγας αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τῆς κιβωτοῦ καὶ συνεκάλυπτεν τὰ χερουβιν ἐπὶ τὴν κιβωτὸν καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀναφορεῖς αὐτῆς ἐπάνωθεν
ita ut cherubim expanderent alas suas super locum in quo posita erat arca, et ipsam arcam tegerent cum vectibus suis.
ወሀለዉ፡ እሙንቱ፡ ኪሩቤል፡ ስፉሐን፡ ክነፊሆሙ፡ መልዕልቴሃ፡ ለይእቲ፡ መካነ፡ ታቦተ፡ ትእዛዙ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወይከድንዋ፡ ኪሩቤል፡ ታቦተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዲበ፡ ፍጽማ፡ ለይእቲ፡ ታቦት፡ እምላዕሉ።
For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.
5:9
וַֽיַּאֲרִ֘יכוּ֮ הַבַּדִּים֒ וַיֵּרָאוּ֩ רָאשֵׁ֨י הַבַּדִּ֤ים מִן־הָאָרוֹן֙ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הַדְּבִ֔יר וְלֹ֥א יֵרָא֖וּ הַח֑וּצָה וַֽיְהִי־שָׁ֔ם עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
καὶ ὑπερεῖχον οἱ ἀναφορεῖς καὶ ἐβλέποντο αἱ κεφαλαὶ τῶν ἀναφορέων ἐκ τῶν ἁγίων εἰς πρόσωπον τοῦ δαβιρ οὐκ ἐβλέποντο ἔξω καὶ ἦσαν ἐκεῖ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης
Vectium autem quibus portabatur arca, quia paululum longiores erant, capita parebant ante oraculum : si vero quis paululum fuisset extrinsecus, eos videre non poterat. Fuit itaque arca ibi usque in praesentem diem.
ወእኁዝ፡ በፍጽማ፡ ወይትናጸራ፡ አርእስቲሆን፡ ወሙባኦን፡ እምቤተ፡ ቅድሳት፡ አንፃረ፡ ዳቤር፡ ወኢይትኔጸራ፡ አፍኣ፡ ወሀለዋ፡ ህየ፡ እስከ፡ ዛቲ፡ ዕለት።
The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the ark in front of the inner sanctuary, but they were not seen outside; and it is there to this day.
5:10
אֵ֚ין בָּאָר֔וֹן רַ֚ק שְׁנֵ֣י הַלֻּח֔וֹת אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥ן מֹשֶׁ֖ה בְּחֹרֵ֑ב אֲשֶׁ֨ר כָּרַ֤ת יְהֹוָה֙ עִם־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּצֵאתָ֖ם מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃ {פ}
οὐκ ἦν ἐν τῇ κιβωτῷ πλὴν δύο πλάκες ἃς ἔθηκεν Μωυσῆς ἐν Χωρηβ ἃ διέθετο κύριος μετὰ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐν τῷ ἐξελθεῖν αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου
Nihilque erat aliud in arca, nisi duae tabulae quas posuerat Moyses in Horeb, quando legem dedit Dominus filiis Israël egredientibus ex Aegypto.
ወአልቦ፡ ዘሀሎ፡ ውስተ፡ ይእቲ፡ ታቦት፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ክልኤቱ፡ አብላቅ፡ ዘአንበረ፡ ሙሴ፡ በደብረ፡ ኮሬብ፡ ዘውስቴቶሙ፡ ሠርዐ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል፡ አመ፡ ይወጽኡ፡ እምድረ፡ ግብጽ።
There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets which Moses put there at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.
5:11
וַיְהִ֕י בְּצֵ֥את הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים מִן־הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ כִּ֠י כׇּל־הַכֹּהֲנִ֤ים הַֽנִּמְצְאִים֙ הִתְקַדָּ֔שׁוּ אֵ֖ין לִשְׁמ֥וֹר לְמַחְלְקֽוֹת׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἐξελθεῖν τοὺς ἱερεῖς ἐκ τῶν ἁγίων ὅτι πάντες οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ εὑρεθέντες ἡγιάσθησαν οὐκ ἦσαν διατεταγμένοι κατ’ ἐφημερίαν
Egressis autem sacerdotibus de sanctuario (omnes enim sacerdotes qui ibi potuerant inveniri, sanctificati sunt : nec adhuc in illo tempore vices et ministeriorum ordo inter eos divisus erat),
ወኮነ፡ እምድኅረ፡ ወፅኡ፡ ካህናት፡ እምቤተ፡ ቅድሳት፡ እስመ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ካህናት፡ እለ፡ ተረክቡ፡ በህየ፡ ተቀደሱ፡ ወኮኑ፡ ስሙያነ፡ ውስተ፡ ዕብሬት።
When the priests had come out of the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, and didn’t keep their divisions;
5:12
וְהַלְוִיִּ֣ם הַמְשֹׁרְרִ֣ים לְכֻלָּ֡ם לְאָסָ֡ף לְהֵימָ֣ן לִ֠ידֻת֠וּן וְלִבְנֵיהֶ֨ם וְלַאֲחֵיהֶ֜ם מְלֻבָּשִׁ֣ים בּ֗וּץ בִּמְצִלְתַּ֙יִם֙ וּבִנְבָלִ֣ים וְכִנֹּר֔וֹת עֹמְדִ֖ים מִזְרָ֣ח לַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ וְעִמָּהֶ֤ם כֹּֽהֲנִים֙ לְמֵאָ֣ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֔ים (מחצררים) [מַחְצְרִ֖ים] בַּחֲצֹצְרֽוֹת׃
καὶ οἱ Λευῖται οἱ ψαλτῳδοὶ πάντες τοῖς υἱοῖς Ασαφ τῷ Αιμαν τῷ Ιδιθουν καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτῶν καὶ τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς αὐτῶν τῶν ἐνδεδυμένων στολὰς βυσσίνας ἐν κυμβάλοις καὶ ἐν νάβλαις καὶ ἐν κινύραις ἑστηκότες κατέναντι τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ μετ’ αὐτῶν ἱερεῖς ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι σαλπίζοντες ταῖς σάλπιγξιν
tam Levitae quam cantores, id est, et qui sub Asaph erant, et qui sub Eman, et qui sub Idithun, filii et fratres eorum vestiti byssinis, cymbalis, et psalteriis, et citharis concrepabant, stantes ad orientalem plagam altaris : et cum eis sacerdotes centum viginti canentes tubis.
ወሌዋውያንሰ፡ መዘምራን፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ደቂቀ፡ አሳፍ፡ ወኤማን፡ ወኤዶትም፡ ወደቆሙ፡ ወአኃዊሆሙ፡ እለ፡ ይለብሱ፡ አልባሰ፡ ሢራይ፡ በጸናጽል፡ ወበከበሮ፡ ወበብፅዛ፡ ወበመሰንቆ፡ ይቀውሙ፡ መንገለ፡ ጽባሕ፡ ዘቤተ፡ ምሥዋዕ፡ ወምስሌሆሙኒ፡ ካህናት፡ ምእት፡ ወዕሥራ፡ ይነፍሑ፡ በአቅርንት።
also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brothers, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred twenty priests sounding with trumpets);
5:13
וַיְהִ֣י כְ֠אֶחָ֠ד (למחצצרים) [לַמְחַצְּרִ֨ים] וְלַמְשֹׁרְרִ֜ים לְהַשְׁמִ֣יעַ קוֹל־אֶחָ֗ד לְהַלֵּ֣ל וּלְהֹדוֹת֮ לַיהֹוָה֒ וּכְהָרִ֣ים ק֠וֹל בַּחֲצֹצְר֨וֹת וּבִמְצִלְתַּ֜יִם וּבִכְלֵ֣י הַשִּׁ֗יר וּבְהַלֵּ֤ל לַֽיהֹוָה֙ כִּ֣י ט֔וֹב כִּ֥י לְעוֹלָ֖ם חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְהַבַּ֛יִת מָלֵ֥א עָנָ֖ן בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ ἐγένετο μία φωνὴ ἐν τῷ σαλπίζειν καὶ ἐν τῷ ψαλτῳδεῖν καὶ ἐν τῷ ἀναφωνεῖν φωνῇ μιᾷ τοῦ ἐξομολογεῖσθαι καὶ αἰνεῖν τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ὡς ὕψωσαν φωνὴν ἐν σάλπιγξιν καὶ ἐν κυμβάλοις καὶ ἐν ὀργάνοις τῶν ᾠδῶν καὶ ἔλεγον ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ κυρίῳ ὅτι ἀγαθόν ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ οἶκος ἐνεπλήσθη νεφέλης δόξης κυρίου
Igitur cunctis pariter, et tubis, et voce, et cymbalis, et organis, et diversi generis musicorum concinentibus, et vocem in sublime tollentibus, longe sonitus audiebatur, ita ut cum Dominum laudare coepissent et dicere : Confitemini Domino quoniam bonus, quoniam in aeternum misericordia ejus : impleretur domus Dei nube,
ወኮነ፡ ቃል፡ ዓቢይ፡ ወድምፅ፡ ሶበ፡ ይነፍሑ፡ በእሉ፡ አቅርንት፡ ወሶበ፡ ዘመሩ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ዓረዩ፡ በአሐቲ፡ ቃል፡ ከመ፡ ይግነዩ፡ ወይሰብሕዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወአልዓሉ፡ ቃሎሙ፡ በእሉ፡ አቅርንት፡ ወበብፅዛ፡ ወበጸናጽል፡ ወበመኃልይ፡ እንዘ፡ ይብሉ፡ ግነዩ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ እስመ፡ ኄር፡ እስመ፡ ለዓለም፡ ምሕረቱ፡ ወቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔርሰ፡ መልአት፡ ደመና፡ ወስብሐተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከደና።
when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking Yahweh; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised Yahweh, saying, “For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever!” then the house was filled with a cloud, even Yahweh’s house,
5:14
וְלֹא־יָכְל֧וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים לַעֲמ֥וֹד לְשָׁרֵ֖ת מִפְּנֵ֣י הֶעָנָ֑ן כִּֽי־מָלֵ֥א כְבוֹד־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶת־בֵּ֥ית הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ {פ}
καὶ οὐκ ἠδύναντο οἱ ἱερεῖς τοῦ στῆναι λειτουργεῖν ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς νεφέλης ὅτι ἐνέπλησεν δόξα κυρίου τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ
nec possent sacerdotes stare et ministrare propter caliginem. Compleverat enim gloria Domini domum Dei.
ወኢክህሉ፡ ዳግመ፡ ቀዊመ፡ ካህናት፡ ከመ፡ ይትለአኩ፡ እምቅድመ፡ ውእቱ፡ ደመና፡ እስመ፡ መልአ፡ ስብሐተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል።
so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for Yahweh’s glory filled God’s house.
