If you do not listen, and if you do not lay it to your heart to give glory to my name, says the Lord Almighty, then I will send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessing, and curse it indeed; and I will scatter your blessing, and it will not be among you, because you do not lay it to your heart.
Behold, I set apart the shoulder for you, and I will scatter entrails upon your faces, the entrails of your festivals; and I will take you away along with it.
My covenant of life and peace was with him; and I gave it to him in fear, that he might fear me, and that he might stand in awe before the face of my name.

And you did these things which I hated: you covered the altar of the Lord with tears, and with weeping and groaning out of your toils. Is it still worth looking upon a sacrifice, or receiving anything acceptable from your hands?
And you said: For what reason? Because the Lord bore witness between you and the wife of your youth, whom you forsook; and she is your companion and the wife of your covenant.
And did not another make her, and a remnant of his spirit? And you said: What else does God seek but offspring? So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not forsake the wife of your youth.
But if, hating her, you send her away, says the Lord, the God of Israel, then impiety will cover your thoughts, says the Lord Almighty. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not forsake her.
You who provoke God with your words. And you said: In what have we provoked him? In your saying: Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and in such he takes pleasure; and, Where is the God of justice?
