And yet those scars, engraved in the Christian battle and certainly held in envy before Christ, because they desired to conquer, and even so glorious, because they yielded not by conquering, upon which even the devil himself still sighs — with their unhappiness, yet chaste; with a mourning penitence, yet one not blushing before the Lord — for these too, concerning pardon, it shall again be remitted to those who denied under such pressure of guilt.
