Ἀλλὰ μετὰ τὴν παι δείαν τῆς δουλείας αὐτοὺς ἐλευθερώσω , ὥστε ἐπαν ελθεῖν καὶ δείμασθαι τὰς πόλεις , καὶ τὸν ναὸν ἀνα στῆσαι , καὶ τὴν κατὰ νόμον ἐν αὐτῷ λατρείαν ἐπιτελεῖν
但在奴役的管教之後,我必釋放他們,使他們得以歸回,重建城邑,重立聖殿,並在其中按律法完成敬拜。
But after the chastisement of servitude I will set them free, so that they may return and build the cities, and raise up the temple, and perform in it the worship according to the law.

Καὶ ὁ ναὸς κατὰ τὸ κρίμα αὐτοῦ καθεδεῖται . Προστίθησι δὲ καὶ ὅσα τῆς εὐπραξίας ἴδια
「聖殿必按其定例安置。」他也補充了一切屬於興盛的事物。
'And the temple shall be settled according to its ordinance.' He adds also whatever things are proper to prosperity.

Καὶ ἐξελεύσονται ἀπ' αὐτῶν ᾄδοντες , καὶ φωνὴ παιζόντων
「必有歌唱的人從他們中間出來,並有歡樂之人的聲音。」
'And there shall go forth from them those who sing, and the voice of those who make merry.'

Ὑπισχνεῖται δὲ καὶ αὔξην τοῦ γένους , καὶ πολυγονίαν
他也應許族類的增多和子孫的繁盛。
He promises also increase of the race and abundance of offspring.

Χεῶ γὰρ αὐτοὺς , φησὶ , καὶ οὐ μὴ σμικρυνθῶσι . κʹ
他說:「因為我必使他們增多,他們必不減少。」(第二十節)
'For I will pour them out,' he says, 'and they shall not be diminished.' (verse 20)

Καὶ εἰσελεύσονται , φησὶν , οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν , ὡς τὸ πρότερον , καὶ τὰ μαρτύρια αὐτῶν κατὰ πρόσωπόν μου ὀρθωθήσονται
他說:「他們的子孫必如往昔一樣進來,他們的會眾必在我面前得以堅立。」
'And their sons,' he says, 'shall come in as before, and their testimonies shall be set upright before my face.'

'And I will visit upon all those who afflict them.' (verse 21)

'And they shall be stronger than they, over them.'

Θλίβοντας τοὺς Βαβυλωνίους λέγει·

By 'those who afflict' he means the Babylonians.

Καὶ ὁ ἄρχων αὐτοῦ ἐξ αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσεται . Κατὰ τὸν τῆς αἰχμα λωσίας καιρὸν , ἄρχοντα τῶν Βαβυλωνίων εἶχον τὸν βασιλέα
「他們的官長必從他們中間而出。」在被擄的時期,他們是以巴比倫的王為他們的官長。
'And their ruler shall come forth from among them.' In the time of the captivity they had the king of the Babylonians as their ruler.

Μετὰ δὲ τὴν ἐπάνοδον , πρῶτον μὲν ἔσχον τὸν Ζοροβάβελ , καὶ τὸν τοῦ Ἰωσεδὲκ υἱόν·

But after the return, first they had Zerubbabel, and the son of Josedek;

「這是誰,把心歸向我、轉回向我呢?耶和華說。」這話他在別處也說過:
'For who is this that has given his heart to turn back to me? says the Lord.' This he says also elsewhere:

Ἐρωτήσατε γενεὰς τὰς γενομένας προτέρας ὑμῶν , τίς ἐπίστευσε Κυρίῳ , καὶ κατῃσχύνθη
「你們去問先前的世代:有誰信靠耶和華而蒙羞的呢?」
'Ask the generations that were before you: who trusted in the Lord and was put to shame?'

Εἶτα τῇ τοῦ Θεοῦ ὀργῇ τὰ συμβεβηκότα αὐτοῖς ἀνατίθησιν ἀλγεινά·
接著,他將臨到他們的苦難歸於神的忿怒;
Then he ascribes the grievous things that befell them to the wrath of God;

καὶ δεικνὺς αὐτῆς τὸ δίκαιον , ἐπάγει·
並且為顯明此忿怒的公義,他補充說:
and showing its justice, he adds:

Οὐ μὴ ἀποστραφῇ ὀργὴ θυμοῦ Κυρίου , ἕως ἂν ποιήσῃ , καὶ ἕως οὗ πληρώσῃ ἐγχεί ρημα καρδίας αὑτοῦ
「耶和華烈怒的忿恨必不轉消,直到他成就、實現他心中的計謀。」
'The anger of the wrath of the Lord shall not turn back, until he has done it, and until he has accomplished the purpose of his heart.'

Τῇ γὰρ βουλῇ αὐτοῦ τίς ἀνθέστηκε; Τὴν ἀπιστίαν αὐτῶν ἐλέγχων , Ἐπ' ἐσχάτων , φησὶ , τῶν ἡμερῶν γνώσεσθε αὐτά . Ἐπειδὴ τοὺς λόγους οὐ πιστεύετε , δι' αὐτῶν μαθήσεσθε τῶν πραγμάτων τῆς πείρας
「有誰抵擋過他的旨意呢?」他責備他們的不信,說:「到末後的日子,你們必明白這些事。」既然你們不信這些話,你們就要藉著親身經歷的事實學到功課。
'For who has withstood his counsel?' Reproving their unbelief, he says: 'In the last of the days you shall understand these things.' Since you do not believe the words, through the very facts of experience you shall learn.

Ἀναμίξας δὲ πάλιν τὰ θυμήρη τοῖς σκυθρωποῖς , τὴν τούτων αἰτίαν διδάσκει
他又將可喜的與憂傷的混合起來,並教導這些事的緣由。
And again mingling the pleasant with the mournful, he teaches the cause of these things.

Εὗρον θερμὸν ἐν ἐρήμῳ , μετὰ ὀλωλότων ἐν μαχαίρᾳ πορευομένους ἐν σπουδαῖς Ἰσραήλ
「我在曠野中遇見溫熱,與那些死於刀下之人同在;就是那匆忙行走的以色列人。」
'I found warmth in the wilderness, with those who perished by the sword; those of Israel walking in haste.'

Τὸ θερμὸν καὶ ὁ Σύρος καὶ ὁ Ἑβραῖος οἰκτιρμὸν τεθείκασιν·

'The warmth'—both the Syriac and the Hebrew set down as 'compassion';

ἔχει δέ τινα πρὸς τοῦτο συγγένειαν καὶ ἡ ἑρμηνεία τῆς Ἑλλάδος φωνῆς·

for one who is warmed within grows soft toward mercy.

ἔρημον δὲ καλεῖ τὴν Βαβυλῶνα·

And by 'wilderness' he calls Babylon.

Ἀγάπησιν αἰωνίαν ἠγάπησά σε·
「我以永遠的愛愛你;」
'With an everlasting love I have loved you;'

διὰ τοῦτο εἵλκυσά σε εἰς οἰκτείρημα
「因此我以慈愛吸引你。」
'therefore I have drawn you into compassion.'

Οὐχ ὁ σὸς , φησὶ , τρό πος αἴτιός σοι τῆς σωτηρίας·
他說:「你得救的緣由,並不在於你自己的行為。」
'It is not your own manner of life,' he says, 'that is the cause of your salvation.'

Προλέγει δὲ , ὅτι πάλιν χορεύσουσι τυμπάνοις κεχρη μένοι , καὶ τοῖς ἄλλοις ὀργάνοις , καὶ φυτουργίας φροντίσουσι , καὶ τὰς θείας ἐπιτελέσουσιν ἑορτάς
他預言他們必再次舞蹈,使用手鼓和其他樂器,並要照料種植的事,也要慶祝神聖的節期。
He foretells that they shall again dance, using timbrels and the other instruments, and shall attend to planting, and shall celebrate the divine feasts.

He foretells also the union of the tribes.

'For there is a day of calling, of one making defence, in the mountains of Ephraim;'

Ἀνάστητε , καὶ ἀναβῶμεν εἰς Σιὼν , πρὸς Κύριον τὸν Θεὸν ἡμῶν
「起來,我們上錫安去,到耶和華我們的神那裡。」
'Arise, and let us go up to Zion, to the Lord our God.'

Παρακελεύεται δὲ αὐτοῖς , τὸν μὲν Θεὸν ἀνυμνεῖν μετ' εὐφροσύνης , κατὰ δὲ τῶν γειτονευόν των ἐθνῶν μέγα φρονεῖν
他勸勉他們要歡歡喜喜地歌頌神,並要對鄰近的列國心存豪邁。
He exhorts them to hymn God with gladness, and to be high-minded against the neighbouring nations.

Χρεμε τίσατε ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν ἐθνῶν . Καὶ δηλώσατε διὰ τού του τὴν θείαν ἐπικουρίαν
「向列國之首發出嘶鳴。」並藉此宣揚那神聖的援助。
'Neigh over the head of the nations.' And declare through this the divine assistance.

Λέγει δὲ καὶ τὸν τῆς ἐπανόδου καιρόν
他也說明了歸回的時候。
He tells also the time of the return.

Συνάξω γὰρ αὐτοὺς , φησὶν , ἐν ἑορτῇ Φασὲκ ἀπ' ἐσχάτου τῆς γῆς
祂說:「因為我必在逾越節從地極將他們招聚起來。」
'For I will gather them,' He says, 'at the feast of Phasek from the ends of the earth.'

Τὸ δὲ Φασὲκ τὸ Πάσχα ἑρμηνεύεται τῇ Ἑλλάδι φωνῇ

Now 'Phasek' is rendered 'Pascha' in the Greek tongue.

Καὶ τὸ πλῆθος αὐτῶν σημαίνων·
祂又指明他們的眾多,說:
And indicating their multitude, He says:

Ἐν αὐτοῖς , φησὶ , χωλὸς καὶ τυφλὸς , ἔγκυος καὶ τίκτουσα , ὁμοθυμαδὸν ἐκκλησία μεγάλη . Ἐν γὰρ ταῖς πολυανθρώποις πόλεσι πάντα ἔστιν εὑρεῖν τὰ τοιαῦτα
祂說:「他們當中有瘸腿的和瞎眼的,有懷孕的和臨產的,同心合意成為大會。」因為在人口稠密的城市裡,一切這樣的人都可尋見。
'Among them,' He says, 'shall be the lame and the blind, the woman with child and she who is in travail together, a great congregation.' For in populous cities all such persons may be found.

Ἀναμιμνήσκει δὲ καὶ τοῦ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας κλαυθμοῦ·
祂也提起被擄時的哀哭,
He also recalls the weeping of the captivity,
1:1826⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ προλέγει τῆς ἐπανόδου τὴν θυμηδίαν , καὶ τὰς κατὰ τὴν ὁδοι πορίαν ψυχαγωγίας
並預言歸回時的歡欣,以及沿途行路中的慰藉。
and foretells the gladness of the return, and the consolations along the journey of the road.

Ἐν παρακλήσει γὰρ , φησὶν , ἀνάξω αὐτοὺς , αὐλίζων ἐπὶ διορυγὰς ὑδάτων , ἐν ὁδῷ εὐθείᾳ , καὶ οὐ μὴ πλανηθῶσιν ἔτι ἐν αὐτῇ . Καὶ τὴν αἰτίαν τῆς κηδεμονίας δεικνὺς ἐπήγαγεν·
祂說:「因為我要以安慰引領他們上來,使他們在水溝旁安歇,行在正直的路上,他們必不再在其中迷失。」祂又指明這眷顧的緣由,接著說:
'For with comfort,' He says, 'I will lead them up, causing them to lodge by the channels of waters, in a straight way, and they shall no more go astray therein.' And showing the reason for His providential care, He added:

Ὅτι ἐγενόμην τῷ Ἰσραὴλ εἰς πατέρα , καὶ Ἐφραῒμπρωτότοκός μού ἐστιν . Ἐφραῒμ οὐ τὸν τοῦ Ἰωσὴφ καλεῖ υἱὸν , ἀλλὰ τὰς δέκα φυλάς·
「因為我已作以色列的父,以法蓮是我的長子。」祂稱以法蓮,並非指約瑟的兒子,而是指那十個支派;
'Because I have become a father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn.' By Ephraim He does not mean the son of Joseph, but the ten tribes;

ἐν αὐταῖς δὲ ἦν Ῥουβὴν ὁ πρωτότοκος , καὶ Συμεὼν ὁ δεύτερος
因為在那些支派中有長子流便和次子西緬。
for among them were Reuben the firstborn and Simeon the second.

Ἐκαλοῦντο δὲ Ἐφραῒμ αἱ δέκα φυλαὶ , ἐπειδὴ τὰ βασίλεια ἐν τῷ κλήρῳ τοῦ Ἐφραῒμ ᾠκοδόμητο
然而那十個支派被稱為以法蓮,是因為王宮建造在以法蓮的地業之內。
But the ten tribes were called Ephraim, since the royal palaces had been built in the allotment of Ephraim.

Καὶ καθάπερ νῦν ἀπὸ τῆς Ῥωμαίων πόλεως Ῥωμαῖοι πάντες ὀνομαζόμεθα·
正如今日,我們都因羅馬城而被稱為羅馬人,
And just as now, from the city of the Romans, we are all named Romans,

οὕτως ἀπὸ τοῦ Ἐφραῒμ προσ ηγορεύοντο τηνικαῦτα αἱ δέκα φυλαί

so at that time the ten tribes were called after Ephraim.

Ταῦτα δὲ καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσι κηρυχθῆναι κελεύει , καὶ μηνυθῆναι πᾶσι τοῦ λαοῦ τὴν ἐπάνοδον·
祂吩咐要將這些事也在列國中傳揚,並將全民歸回的事宣告出來;
He commands that these things be proclaimed also among the nations, and that the return of all the people be announced;

ἐγένετο δὲ οὐ διὰ λόγων τὸ κήρυγμα , ἀλλ' ἤκουον πάντες , γεγωνότερον τῶν πραγμάτων βοώντων
但這宣告並非藉著言語,乃是眾人都聽見了,因為事實本身比任何聲音喊得更響。
yet the proclamation came not by words, but all heard it, since the events themselves cried out more loudly than any voice.

Ὑπισχνεῖται δὲ καὶ γῆς εὐ καρπίαν , καὶ κτηνῶν πολυγονίαν , καὶ ψυχῆς εὐ φροσύνην
祂又應許地土的豐收、牲畜的多產,以及心靈的歡樂。
He promises also fruitfulness of the land, and abundance in the increase of cattle, and gladness of soul.

Μεθύσω τὴν ψυχὴν τῶν ἱερέων , τῶν υἱῶν Λευΐ , ἀντὶ τοῦ , ἀγαθῶν ἐμπλήσω παντοδαπῶν·
「我必使祭司,就是利未子孫的心飽足」——意思是「我必用各樣的美物充滿他們」;
'I will make drunk the soul of the priests, the sons of Levi'—that is, 'I will fill them with all manner of good things';

τοῦτο γὰρ δηλοῖ καὶ τὰ ἐπαγόμενα

for this is what the words that follow also make clear.

Καὶ ὁ λαός μου τῶν ἀγαθῶν ἐμπλησθήσεται , φησὶ Κύριος . ιεʹ

'And My people shall be filled with good things, says the Lord.' (15)

Φωνὴ ἐν Ῥαμᾷ ἠκού σθη , θρῆνος , καὶ κλαυθμὸς , καὶ ὀδυρμός·
「在拉瑪聽見號咷、哀哭、悲傷的聲音;
'A voice was heard in Rama, lamentation and weeping and mourning;

Ῥαχὴλ ἀποκλαιομένη ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὑ τῆς , καὶ οὐκ ἤθελε παρακληθῆναι ἐπὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὑτῆς , ὅτι οὐκ εἰσίν
拉結為她的兒女哀哭,不肯受安慰,因為他們都不在了。」
Rachel weeping for her children, and she would not be comforted for her children, because they are not.'

Καὶ ἡ Ῥαμὰ τῆς Βενια μίτιδος ἦν φυλῆς·
拉瑪原屬便雅憫支派;
Now Rama was of the tribe of Benjamin;

καὶ τῆς Ῥαχὴλ ὁ τάφος ἐν τῷ ἱπποδρόμῳ ἐστὶ Χαφραθὰ , τοῦ ἐλθεῖν εἰς Ἐφραθά
拉結的墳墓在往以法他去、恰弗拉他的賽馬場那裡。
and the tomb of Rachel is at the hippodrome of Chaphratha, on the way to Ephratha.

Καὶ τέλος μὲν ἔλαβεν ἡ προφητεία ἐπὶ Ἡρώδου τοῦ πρώτου·
這預言在第一位希律的日子得了應驗;
And the prophecy had its fulfilment in the days of Herod the first;
1:1844⧉ ⤴︎
οὗτος γὰρ ἀνεῖλε τὰ βρέφη , συναναιρήσειν ἐλπίζων τὸν γεννηθέντα Σωτῆρα
因為正是他殺害了那些嬰孩,指望連那新生的救主也一同殺盡。
for he it was who slew the infants, hoping thereby to slay along with them the newborn Saviour.

Τέθεικε δὲ ταῦτα ὁ προφήτης μεταξὺ τῆς τῶν ἀγαθῶν ἐπαγγελίας·
先知將這些話安置在美好應許之中,
The prophet set these words in the midst of the promise of good things,

διδάσκων , ὅτι τὸ ἀληθῶς ἀγαθὸν , καὶ τὸ τῆς σωτη ρίας κεφάλαιον , τοῦ Κυρίου καὶ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν ἡ κατὰ σάρκα γέννησις , δι' ἣν ὑπέμεινε τὰ βρέφη τὴν ἄδικον ἐκείνην σφαγήν
為要教導人:那真正美好的事,救恩的總綱,乃是我們的主和救主按肉體的降生——正是為了祂,那些嬰孩才忍受了那不義的殺戮。
teaching that the truly good thing, and the very sum of our salvation, is the birth according to the flesh of our Lord and Saviour—for whose sake the infants endured that unjust slaughter.

ὅτι ἔστι μισθὸς τοῖς σοῖς ἔργοις , φησὶ Κύριος , καὶ ἐπιστρέψουσιν οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν εἰς τὰ ὄρη αὑτῶν
「你的工作必有賞賜,這是耶和華說的,他們的兒女必歸回自己的境界。」
'that there is a reward for thy works, says the Lord, and their sons shall return to their own borders.'

Καὶ διδάσκων ποίων ἔργων ὑπι σχνεῖται μισθὸν , ὑποδείκνυσιν αὐτῷ τὴν ἐν Βαβυ λῶνι μετάνοιαν
祂又教導人,是為著怎樣的工作應許賞賜,便向她指明在巴比倫的悔改。
And teaching for what kind of works He promises a reward, He points out to her the repentance in Babylon.

'Hearing I have heard Ephraim lamenting:

耶和華啊,你管教了我,我卻未受管教;
Thou hast chastened me, O Lord, and I was not chastened;

ὥσπερ μόσχος οὐκ ἐδιδάχθην . Τοῦτο καὶ ὁ προφήτης ἐν τοῖς πρόσθεν εἴρηκεν·
我像牛犢未受教。」這話先知在前面也曾說過:
like a calf I was not taught.' This too the prophet had said earlier:

Ἐμαστίγωσας αὐτοὺς , καὶ οὐκ ἐπόνεσαν·
「你鞭打他們,他們卻不覺疼痛;
'Thou hast scourged them, and they felt no pain;

συνετέλεσας αὐτοὺς , καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησαν δέξασθαι παι δείαν . Καὶ Ὡσηὲ δὲ ὁ προφήτης φησίν·
你毀滅他們,他們卻不肯領受管教。」何西阿先知也說:
Thou hast made an end of them, and they would not receive instruction.' And Hosea the prophet also says:

Ἐφραῒμ δάμαλις δεδιδαγμένη ἀγαπᾷν νεῖκος . Ἀντιλέγει , φησὶ , καὶ οὐ δέχεται τὸν τοῦ νόμου ζυγόν
「以法蓮是受過訓練、喜愛爭鬥的母牛犢。」祂說:「他頂撞我,不肯接受律法的軛。」
'Ephraim is a heifer taught to love strife. He speaks against me,' He says, 'and does not accept the yoke of the law.'

Ἐγένετο Ἐφραῒμ , ὡς παροιστρῶσα δάμαλις . Τίθησι δὲ καὶ ἅπερ ποτνιώμενος ἔλεγεν·

'Ephraim became like a heifer stung to frenzy.' He sets down also the words which Ephraim spoke in his supplication:

for Thou art the Lord my God.' For if Thou wilt it not, I shall not be delivered from bondage.

「因為我被擄之後才悔改,我知道以後就拍腿,為我羞辱的日子歎息。」
'For after my captivity I repented, and after I came to know it I smote upon my thigh, and groaned over the days of my shame.'

ὅπως ἂν μάθω τὰ δικαιώματά σου . Τὸ δὲ πατάσσειν τὸν μηρὸν , τῶν ὀδυνομένων καὶ μεταμελουμένων ἴδιον
「為要使我學習你的典章。」拍腿乃是憂傷悔改之人的特徵。
'that I might learn Thy ordinances.' Now the smiting of the thigh is proper to those who grieve and repent.

Καί γε ἐνετράπην , καὶ ὑπεῖξά σοι , ὅτι ἔλαβον ὀνειδισμὸν ἐκ νεότητός μου . Ἄνωθεν γὰρ καὶ ἐξ ἀρχῆς παρα βαίνων σου τὰς ἐντολὰς διετέλεσα
「是的,我蒙羞,向你屈服,因為我從幼年就承受羞辱。」因為我從古時、從起初就一直干犯你的誡命。
'Yea, I was ashamed, and I yielded to Thee, for I bore reproach from my youth.' For from of old and from the beginning I continued transgressing Thy commandments.

'Is Ephraim a beloved son to Me, is he a child that revels in delights?'

'If thou continue,' He says, 'keeping this disposition, and mindful of My providential care, thou shalt enjoy good things';

'Because, inasmuch as My words are in him, I will surely remember him yet again.' Since he has employed repentance, and remembers My commandments, he shall obtain forethought from Me.

For the Lord has created thee unto salvation, unto a new planting; in the salvation men shall walk about.'

Ἔδειξεν ἐνταῦθα σαφῶς καὶ τῆς ἀνακλήσεως τὴν αἰτίαν·

Here He has shown clearly also the cause of the recall;

for He foretells that the new planting shall come to be through her;

Thus, he says, it is impossible for the children to have penalties exacted from them on behalf of their fathers' sins, for even though the fathers have sinned, I promise the greatest good things to the children.

For having led the holy apostles up onto the mountain, he did not give them tablets of stone, but inscribed the divine laws upon their hearts, and bestowed the beatitudes upon the laborers of virtue.

Καὶ οὐ μὴ διδάξωσιν ἔτι ἕκαστος τὸν πλησίον αὑτοῦ , καὶ ἕκαστος τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὑ τοῦ , λέγων·
「他們各人不再教導自己的鄰舍和自己的弟兄,說:
'And they shall no longer teach, each one his neighbor, and each one his brother, saying:

for all shall know me, from the least of them to the greatest.'

But the fulfillment of these sayings the life to come shall receive.

Ἐν ἐκείνῳ γὰρ οὐκέτι δεόμεθα τῆς παρ' ἀλλήλων διδασκαλίας , τῶν πραγμάτων ἐναργῶς φαινομένων , καὶ τῶν παθῶν πεπαυμένων , καὶ τῶν μὲν σωμάτων ἀφθάρτων , τῶν δὲ ψυχῶν γενομένων ἀτρέπτων
因為在那生命裡,我們不再需要彼此教導,既然那些實在都清楚顯現,情慾已止息,身體不朽壞,靈魂也成為不可改變的了。
For in that life we shall no longer need teaching from one another, since the realities will appear plainly, the passions will have ceased, the bodies will be incorruptible, and the souls will have become unchangeable.

Ἔθος δὲ τῇ θείᾳ Γραφῇ τὰς προφητείας ἀναμιγνύναι
神聖的聖經慣於將諸預言交織相混。
It is customary for divine Scripture to intermingle its prophecies.

Καὶ γὰρ τοῖς περὶ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας λόγοις συνάπτει τοὺς περὶ τῆς ἀνακλήσεως·
因為祂確實將論及被擄的話語,與論及召回歸回的話語連在一起;
For indeed to the words about the captivity it joins those about the recall from exile;

καὶ ὁ Κύριος δὲ ἐν τοῖς ἱεροῖς Εὐαγγελίοις κατὰ ταὐτὸν τίθησι τοὺς περὶ τῆς Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ τοὺς περὶ τῆς συντελείας λόγους
主在神聖的福音書中,也照樣把論及耶路撒冷的話與論及世界末了的話放在一處。
and the Lord too, in the sacred Gospels, sets together in like manner the words about Jerusalem and those about the consummation of the age.

Ὅτι ἵλεως ἔσομαι ταῖς ἀνομίαις αὐτῶν , καὶ τῶν ἁμαρ τιῶν αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ μνησθῶ ἔτι . Τοῦτο τοῦ παν αγίου βαπτίσματος δωρεῖται ἡ χάρις·
「因為我要寬恕他們的罪孽,不再記念他們的罪。」這是至聖洗禮的恩典所賜下的;
'For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and their sins I will remember no more.' This the grace of most holy baptism bestows;

After this, having shown that he himself is the maker of the sun, and moon, and stars, and that he himself commanded the one to make the day, and the others to give light to the night, and that at his nod the sea is stirred and enjoys calm, he added:

Ἐὰν παύσωνται οἱ νόμοι οὗτοι ἐκ προσ ώπου μου , φησὶ Κύριος , καὶ τὸ γένος Ἰσραὴλ παύσεται γενέσθαι ἔθνος κατὰ προσώπου μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας
「主說:這些定例若在我面前止息,以色列的後裔也就在我面前終日不再作國了。」
'If these ordinances should cease from before me, says the Lord, then also the race of Israel shall cease to be a nation before me all the days.'

'Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, the remnant shall be saved.' Both prophecies, therefore, hold the truth.

For not all who are of Israel, these are Israel, but those who have believed in God and received the saving proclamation. From whom and through whom the Church throughout the whole world was established.

'If the heaven should be raised up to the heights, and if the earth should be lowered to the depths below, then also will I reject the house of Israel, says the Lord.'

他說,正如天不可能變得更高,地也不可能變得更深;
As it is impossible, he says, either for the heaven to become higher, or the earth deeper;

so it is utterly impossible for Israel to be cast off.

'And the measuring line shall go out still further opposite them as far as the hill of Gareb.' He names the places round about the city.

'And all Asarimoth as far as the brook Kedron, up to the corner of the horse gate toward the East, a holy place to the Lord.'

他稱那傾倒祭牲灰燼之處為斯波狄亞(灰堆);
He calls Spodia the place where they cast the ash of the sacrifices;

and Phagarim the places of the flesh that was sacrificed;

and having above spoken of the circuit of the city, in these words he indicated the enclosure of the divine temple. 'And it shall never again be plucked up, nor pulled down forever.'

'For at length,' he said, 'I will speak concerning nations and kingdoms, that they be built up and planted. But if that nation, turning, should do evil things, I will not bring upon it the good things which I spoke.'

but since they raged madly against God our Savior, and stirred up judgment against themselves, from here he passes over to another prophecy, whose fulfillment he received in the tenth year of the reign of Zedekiah.

And at that time the city was being besieged by him;

先知則被囚在監牢裡,是西底家王把他下在裡面的,因為他預言了城要被攻陷,王與百姓要被擄為奴。
and the prophet was dwelling in prison, Zedekiah the king having cast him in, because he had foretold the capture of the city, and the enslavement of the king and the people.

他說:「這贖買的權利屬於你,因你按親屬關係最近。那賣主也來到我這裡,我就照著所吩咐的買下,並在眾人—就是賣主和作見證的人—面前,領受了這地的契據。」
'For to you,' he says, 'belongs the purchase, as being next of kin by kindred. And there came to me also the one selling it, and I bought it as I had been commanded, and I received the deed concerning it, in the presence of all, both the seller and the witnesses.'

Ταύτην δέδωκε τῷ Βα ροὺχ , τὸν Θεὸν εἰρηκὼς προστεταχέναι ἐν ἀγγείῳ τοῦτο τεθεῖναι ὀστρακίνῳ , ὥστε εἰς πολλὰς διαρκέσαι ἡμέρας
他把這契據交給巴錄,說神吩咐要把它放在瓦器裡,好使它能存留多日。
This he gave to Baruch, saying that God had commanded it to be placed in an earthenware vessel, so that it might last for many days.

Τοῦτο δὲ γενέσθαι προσέταξεν ὁ Θεὸς , καὶ δι' αὐτῶν πείθων τὸν λαὸν τῶν πραγμάτων , ὅτι ἀλη θῶς ἐκ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας ἀνακληθήσονται , καὶ τὴν πατρῴαν γῆν ἀπολήψονται
神吩咐這樣行,也藉這些事本身勸服百姓,使他們確知自己真必從被擄之地蒙召歸回,並要重得祖業之地。
And God commanded this to be done, persuading the people also through these very deeds, that they would truly be recalled from the captivity, and would receive back their ancestral land.

For this the prophet also said:

'For thus said the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel:

Ἔτι κτηθήσονται οἰκίαι , καὶ ἀγροὶ ,καὶ ἀμπελῶνες ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ
在這地上,仍要有人置買房屋、田地和葡萄園。」
houses and fields and vineyards shall yet be acquired in this land.'

ἔχεις δὲ καὶ ἐλέου θησαυροὺς ἀμετρήτους , εἰσπράττῃ δὲ καὶ τῶν ἁμαρτημάτων εὐθύνας
「你既有無量的憐憫寶庫,卻也追討罪孽的帳。」
'You have too treasuries of mercy without measure, yet you also exact accounts for sins.'

Εἰ δὲ καὶ οἱ παῖδες τὴν τῶν πατέρων πονηρίαν μιμήσαιντο , μείζους αὐτοῖς τιμω ρίας ἐπάγεις , ὡς τοῖς πατρῴοις μὴ παιδευθέντας κακοῖς
「但兒女若也效法父輩的惡行,你就加給他們更重的刑罰,因為他們未曾因父輩的災禍受教。」
'But if the children too should imitate the wickedness of the fathers, you bring upon them greater punishments, as those who were not disciplined by their fathers' evils.'

Καὶ ἕτερα δὲ πολλὰ τοιαῦτα προστεθεικὼς , καὶ τῶν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ γεγενημένων μνημονεύσας θαυ μάτων , καὶ τῶν μετὰ τὴν ἐκεῖθεν ἀπαλλαγὴν παρα σχεθεισῶν δωρεῶν , καὶ μέντοι καὶ τῆς τῶν εὐεργετη θέντων ἀχαριστίας , πυνθάνεται , τί δή ποτε τῶν πο λεμίων προκαθημένων , καὶ τὴν πόλιν πολιορκούντων , καὶ τῶν ἔνδον ὑπὸ τοῦ λιμοῦ καὶ λοιμοῦ φθειρομέ νων , ἀγρόν μοι προσέταξας πρίασθαι , καὶ τὴν περὶ τούτου λαβεῖν συγγραφὴν , ἀναστάτου γιγνομένης τῆς πόλεως; Πρὸς ταῦτά φησιν ὁ Θεός·
他又加上許多其他這類的話,追述在埃及所行的神蹟,和從那裡出來之後所賜下的恩惠,並且提到那些蒙恩者的忘恩負義,就發問說:既然仇敵在城前紮營、圍困城邑,城內的人又被饑荒和瘟疫所滅,這城正變為荒場,你為何吩咐我買一塊田,並領受這地的契據呢?神對這些話回答說:
And having added many other such things, and having called to mind the wonders that took place in Egypt, and the gifts that were bestowed after the departure from there, and moreover the ingratitude of those who had been benefited, he inquires: why then, when the enemies were encamped before it and were besieging the city, and those within were being destroyed by famine and pestilence, did you command me to buy a field and to take the deed concerning it, while the city was being laid desolate? To these things God says:

Ἐγὼ Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς πάσης σαρκός·
「我是主,是凡有血氣者的神;
'I am the Lord, the God of all flesh;

παραδιδο μένη παραδοθήσεται ἡ πόλις αὕτη εἰς χεῖρας Χαλδαίων , καὶ εἰς χεῖρας Ναβουχοδονόσορ βασι λέως Βαβυλῶνος , καὶ λήψεται αὐτήν
這城必被交在迦勒底人手中,交在巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒手中,他必攻取它。」
this city shall surely be delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans, and into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it.'

Then he says how, entering in, they will burn it, and the houses in which they sacrificed to Baal, and poured out drink offerings to other gods.

He rebukes also the aim of the things that were done.

Πρὸς τὸ παραπικράναι με . Παραδίδωμι δὲ , φησὶ , τὴν πόλιν διὰ τὴν τῶν οἰκητόρων παρανομίαν
「為要惹我發怒。」祂說:我交出這城,是因城中居民的不法。
'To provoke me.' I deliver up the city, he says, on account of the lawlessness of its inhabitants.

Ἀεὶ γάρ με παροξύναντες διετέλεσαν , ἀφ' ἧς ἡμέρας ᾠκοδόμησα αὐτὴν , ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης
「因為從我建立這城的那日起,直到今日,他們始終不斷地惹我發怒。」
'For they never ceased provoking me, from the day I built it until this day.'

Οὗ δὴ χάριν ἐδοκίμασα ἀπαλλάξαι αὐτὴν ἀπὸ προσώπου μου , περὶ πάσης τῆς κακίας τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ , καὶ υἱῶν Ἰούδα

'For which cause I resolved to remove it from before my face, because of all the wickedness of the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah.'

'For with one accord the kings, and the priests, and the rulers, and those who prophesied falsehoods, together with all the people, turned their back to me, and not their face;

ἐμὲ γὰρ καταλιπόντες , τοῖς εἰδώλοις ἐλάτρευον
他們既離棄了我,就去事奉偶像。」
for having forsaken me, they served the idols.'

ἐγὼ δὲ , φησὶν , οὐ διέλιπον διὰ τῶν προ φητῶν ἐκπαιδεύων αὐτοὺς τὴν ἀλήθειαν
他說:「但我並未止息,反倒藉著眾先知教導他們真理。」
'But I,' he says, 'did not cease instructing them in the truth through the prophets.'

Αὐτοῖς δὲ οὐκ ἀπέχρησεν ἡ ἐν ταῖς οἰκίαις ἀσέβεια , ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ τῷ ἀφιερωμένῳ μοι οἴκῳ ἔστησαν τὰ τῶν εἰδώλων ἰνδάλματα
「然而他們在家中的不敬虔還不夠,甚至在那分別歸我的殿中,也擺設偶像的像。」
'But the impiety in their houses did not suffice them, but even in the very house consecrated to me they set up the images of the idols.'

Καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν τοὺς βωμοὺς τῇ Βάαλ , ἐν φάραγγι υἱοῦ Ἐννὼμ , πύργους τοὺς ἐν Γέβ
「他們在欣嫩子谷為巴力築了壇,就是在基伯的那些高臺。」
'And they built the altars to Baal, in the valley of the son of Ennom, the towers that are in Geb.'

Τὸ γὰρ Βάαλ γενικὸν ὄνομα τῶν εἰδώλων·
因為「巴力」是偶像的通稱;
For Baal is a generic name of the idols;
1:1954⧉ ⤴︎
λέγει δὲ , ὅτι ἐν τούτοις τοῖς τόποις τὴν κατὰ τῶν υἱῶν καὶ θυγατέρων ἐτόλμων μιαιφονίαν
他說,他們在這些地方竟敢殺害自己的兒女,行流血之事。
and he says that in these places they dared the bloody slaughter of their sons and daughters.
1:1955⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ δώσω αὐτοῖς καρδίαν ἑτέραν , καὶ ὁδὸν ἑτέραν , ὥστε φοβεῖσθαί με πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας , οὕτω νοητέον , ὅτι διὰ τῆς παιδείας , καὶ διὰ τῆς μετὰ ταῦτα ἐλευθερίας , γνώσονταί με μόνον ὄντα Θεὸν , καὶ τῆς προτέρας ἀπαλλαγήσονται πλάνης
「我要賜給他們另一顆心、另一條道路,使他們終日敬畏我」,這話當如此領會:藉著管教,並藉著隨後而來的釋放,他們必認識惟獨我是神,並要脫離從前的迷惑。
'And I will give them another heart, and another way, so that they may fear me all the days,' is to be understood thus: that through the discipline, and through the freedom that follows it, they will know me alone to be God, and will be delivered from their former error.

Καὶ διαθήσομαι αὐτοῖς διαθήκην αἰώνιον , ἣν οὐκ ἀποστρέψω ὄπισθεν αὐτῶν
「我要與他們立永遠的約,必不轉離不顧他們。」
'And I will make with them an everlasting covenant, which I will not turn away from behind them.'

Ἔτυχον ἂν καὶ ταύτης τῆς ἐπαγγελίας , εἴπερ ἠθέλησαν·

They would have obtained this promise too, if only they had been willing;

but they themselves, having departed from grace, were stripped bare.

Ταῦτα δὲ , καὶ τὰ τούτοις ὅμοια , διὰ πλειόνων εἰπὼν , ἐπ ήγαγε·

'And fields shall be acquired in the land of which you say that it is impassable, without man or beast, and has been delivered into the hand of the Chaldeans.'

Καὶ κτήσονται ἀγροὺς ἐν ἀργυρίῳ , καὶ γραφή σονται ἐν βιβλίῳ , καὶ σφραγισθήσεται
他們必用銀子購買田地,並在書卷上記下,加以封緘。
And they shall purchase fields with silver, and shall write it in a book, and it shall be sealed.

These things He answered to the inquiry of the prophet;

διδά σκων ὡς τούτου χάριν αὐτῷ προσέταξε πρίασθαι τὸν ἀγρὸν , ἵνα καὶ διὰ τῶν πραγμάτων δείξῃ τῆς προφητείας τὸ ἀληθές
教導說,正因如此祂才吩咐他購買那田地,好叫祂也能藉著實際的事實顯明這預言的真確。
teaching that for this reason He had commanded him to buy the field, namely, that also through the deeds He might display the truth of the prophecy.

Ὠνήσονται γὰρ , φησὶν , ἀγρούς·

For 'they shall purchase fields,' He says;

καὶ ἐν γῇ Βενιαμὴν , καὶ κυκλόθεν Ἱερου σαλὴμ , καὶ ἐν πόλεσιν Ἰούδα , καὶ ἐν πόλεσι τοῦ . ὄρους , καὶ ἐν πόλεσι τῆς Σεφιλὰ , καὶ ἐν πόλεσι τῆς Ναγέβ . Σεφιλὰ τὴν πεδιάδα καλεῖ·
「在便雅憫地,在耶路撒冷四圍,在猶大諸城,在山地諸城,在示非拉諸城,在南地諸城。」祂稱那平原為「示非拉」。
'and in the land of Benjamin, and round about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the hill country, and in the cities of the Shephelah, and in the cities of the Negeb.' By 'Shephelah' He calls the plain.

Then again the prophet beholds another revelation, while still dwelling in the prison.

Κάλεσον πρός με , καὶ ἐπακούσομαί σου , καὶ ἀναγγελῶ σοι μεγάλα καὶ ἰσχυρὰ , ἃ οὐκ ἔγνως
「你求告我,我就應允你,並將你所不知道、又大又難的事指示你。」
'Call to Me, and I will hearken to you, and I will declare to you great and mighty things which you have not known.'

Καὶ δείξας τὴν πολιορκίαν , προλέγει καὶ τὴν ἐλευθερίαν
祂既顯明了那圍困,也預先宣告了那拯救。
And having shown the siege, He foretells also the deliverance.

Ἰδοὺ γὰρ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπ' αὐτὴν συνούλω σιν καὶ ἴαμα , καὶ ἰατρεύσω αὐτούς
「看哪,我必使創傷得以癒合並得醫治,我要醫治他們。」
'For behold, I bring upon her a closing of the wound and a healing, and I will heal them.'

Ἡ συνού λωσις τὴν τελείαν ἴασιν δηλοῖ
那「創傷的癒合」表明完全的痊癒。
The 'closing of the wound' signifies the complete cure.

Εἶτα διδάσκει ὅπως τὴν ἐπάνοδον ὁρῶντα τὰ ἔθνη ὑμνήσει τῆς ἐλευθε ρίας τὸν χορηγόν·
接著祂教導說,列國看見這歸回,將要歌頌那賜自由的主;
Then He teaches how the nations, beholding the return, will hymn the Giver of that freedom;

καὶ οἱ μὲν καλοκἀγαθίᾳ συζῶντες , θαυμάσουσιν·
那些以高尚與美德度日的人必要驚歎;
and those who live in nobility and virtue will marvel;

οἱ δὲ πονηρίαν ἀσπαζόμενοι πικραν θήσονται , ὁρῶντες ἐν εὐπραξίᾳ τὴν πόλιν , καὶ τὰς θείας ἑορτὰς ἐπιτελουμένας συνήθως
但那些擁抱邪惡的人必要痛苦,因為看見那城處於昌盛之中,聖節照著慣例得以舉行。
but those who embrace wickedness will be embittered, seeing the city in prosperity, and the divine feasts being celebrated according to custom.

καὶ ποιήσει κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύ νην ἐν τῇ γῇ
「祂必在地上施行公平與公義。」
'And He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.'

Ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις σωθήσεται Ἰουδαία , καὶ Ἱερουσαλὴμ κατασκηνώσει πεποιθυῖα·
「在那些日子,猶大必得救,耶路撒冷必安然居住;」
'In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell in confidence;'

καὶ τοῦτο τὸ ὄνομα ὃ κληθήσεται , Κύριος δικαιοσύνη ἡμῶν
「這就是祂所要被稱的名:耶和華我們的義。」
'and this is the name by which she shall be called: The Lord our Righteousness.'

Οὐκ ἐκλείψει ἄρχων ἐξ Ἰούδα , καὶ ἡγούμενος ἐκ τῶν μηρῶν αὐτοῦ , ἕως οὗ ἔλθῃ ὃ ἀπόκειται , καὶ αὐτὸς προσδοκία ἐθνῶν . Ἀλλὰ μετὰ τὸν Ζοροβάβελ οὐκ ἴσμεν ἡγεμονεύσαντά τινα ἐκ τῆς Ἰούδα φυλῆς
「權柄必不離猶大,掌權者必不離他的膝下,直等那應許歸給之人來到,祂乃是列國所盼望的。」然而在所羅巴伯之後,我們不曉得有任何出自猶大支派的人執掌政權。
'The ruler shall not fail from Judah, nor a leader from his loins, until He come for whom it is reserved, and He is the expectation of the nations.' But after Zerubbabel we know of no one from the tribe of Judah who exercised rule.

Yet nevertheless we find the truth of the prophecy;

for there came about an intermingling of the royal and the priestly lines;

and the priests ruled until Herod the foreigner.

Περὶ τῶν ἱερέων , φησὶ , καὶ Λευϊτῶν , οὐκ ἐξολοθρευθήσεται ἀνὴρ ἐκ προσώπου μου ἀνα φέρων ὁλοκαυτώματα , καὶ θυμιῶν δῶρον , καὶ ποιῶν θυσίαν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας
祂說:「論到祭司與利未人,在我面前必不斷絕有人獻全燔祭、燒香為禮物、天天獻祭。」
'Concerning the priests,' He says, 'and the Levites, there shall not be cut off a man from before Me offering whole burnt offerings, and burning incense as a gift, and making sacrifice all the days.'

Καὶ ταύτης . δὲ τῆς προφητείας ὁρῶμεν τὴν ἔκβασιν
這預言的應驗,我們也已看見;
And of this prophecy too we see the fulfillment;

καὶ οἱ ταύτης ἠξιωμένοι , τὴν λογικὴν θυσίαν ἐνδελε χῶς προσφέρουσι τῷ Θεῷ
凡蒙配得此職分的人,都不住地向神獻上理性的祭。
and those who have been deemed worthy of it offer continually the rational sacrifice to God.

Καὶ ταύτης δὲ τῆς προφητείας δῆλόν ἐστι τὸ τέλος·
這預言的結局也是顯明的;
And of this prophecy the end is manifest;
1:1988⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλὰ , τῷ Πατρὶ συνεδρεύων , ἰθύνει τὰ σύμπαντα
祂與父同坐議會之位,掌管萬有。
but, sitting in council with the Father, He directs all things.
1:1989⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ μέντοι καὶ περὶ τῶν ἱερέων καὶ τῶν Λευϊτῶν ταὐτὸ τοῦτο λέγει , ὡς τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ οὐρανοῦ , καὶ τῇ ψάμμῳ τῆς θαλάσσης , τὸ τούτων παραβληθήσεται γένος
祂論到祭司與利未人也說了同樣的話,就是他們的後裔要如同天上的萬象、海邊的沙那樣繁多。
And indeed concerning the priests and the Levites He says this very same thing, that to the host of heaven and to the sand of the sea shall their race be likened.

Καὶ μαρτυρεῖ τοῖς λεγομένοις τὰ πράγματα
事實也為所說的話作見證。
And the facts bear witness to what is said.

Ἅπασα γὰρ γῆ καὶ θάλαττα πλήρεις ἀρχιερέων , καὶ τῶν τὴν Λευϊτικὴν λειτουργίαν πληρούντων διακόνων
因為全地與全海都充滿了大祭司,以及履行利未職事的執事。
For all the earth and sea are full of high priests, and of deacons fulfilling the Levitical ministry.
1:1992⧉ ⤴︎
Εἰρηκὼς δὲ καὶ τὰ παρὰ τῶν δυσσεβῶν λεγόμενα , ὅτι τὰς δύο φυλὰς , ἃς ἐξελέξατο , τήν τε βασιλικὴν καὶ τὴν ἱερατικὴν , ἀπώσατο παντελῶς , ὑπέσχετο πάλιν ἅπερ ἤδη προείρηκεν
祂既也述說了那些不敬虔之人所講的話,就是說祂已完全棄絕了祂所揀選的那兩支派,即君王的與祭司的,祂便再次應許祂先前已經預言過的事。
And having stated also the words of the impious, that He had utterly cast away the two tribes which He had chosen, both the royal and the priestly, He promised again the very things which He had already foretold.

Οὕτω ταύτην συμπεράνας τὴν προφητείαν , ἐφ' ἑτέραν μεταβαίνει·
祂既如此結束了這預言,便轉向另一個預言;
Having thus brought this prophecy to a conclusion, He passes on to another;
1:1994⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ τῶν πολεμίων προσκαθη μένων , εἰπεῖν κελεύεται Σεδεκίᾳ τῷ βασιλεῖ , καὶ ὅτι Ἁλώσεται ἡ πόλις , καὶ ἐμπρησθήσεται·
當仇敵圍困之時,他奉命對王西底家說:「這城必被攻取,並被焚燒;」
and while the enemy were encamped about, he is commanded to say to King Zedekiah, that 'The city shall be captured, and it shall be burned;'

καί σε λα βόντες τῷ Βαβυλωνίων προσάξουσι βασιλεῖ·
「他們必擒住你,帶到巴比倫王那裡;」
'and they shall take you and bring you to the king of the Babylonians;'

ἀλλὰ τὸν μὲν θάνατον διαφεύξῃ , αἰχμάλωτος δὲ ἀπαχθεὶς , τὴν ἀλλοτρίαν οἰκήσεις , καὶ ἐν εἰρήνῃ δέξῃ τοῦ βίου τὸ πέρας , καὶ τῶν νομιζομένων παρὰ τῶν προσηκόν των ἀξιωθήσῃ
「但你必逃過死亡,被擄去,住在異邦之地,在平安中終結你的一生,並蒙親屬按慣例給你的禮遇。」
'but you shall escape death, and being led away captive, you shall inhabit a foreign land, and in peace you shall receive the end of your life, and you shall be deemed worthy of the customary honors from those who are near.'

Καὶ ταῦτα , φησὶν , εἶπον τῷ βασιλεῖ , τῶν πολεμίων οὐ μόνον τὴν Ἱερουσαλὴμ , ἀλλὰ καὶ τὰς ὑπολοίπους τῆς Ἰουδαίας πόλεις πολιορκούντων
他說,我把這些話告訴了王,那時仇敵不但圍困耶路撒冷,也圍困猶大其餘的諸城。
And these things, he says, I spoke to the king, while the enemy were besieging not only Jerusalem, but also the remaining cities of Judea.

Ταύτῃ δὲ συνάπτει τῇ προφητείᾳ καὶ ἑτέραν , ταύ την ἔχουσαν τὴν διάνοιαν·

To this prophecy he joins yet another, having this sense:
1:1999⧉ ⤴︎
Ὁ Σεδεκίας προσέταξε κατὰ τὸν θεῖον νόμον ἐλευθέρους ἀφεθῆναι τοὺς Ἑβραίους οἰκέτας·
西底家按著神的律法吩咐,要釋放希伯來的僕人得自由;
Zedekiah commanded, according to the divine law, that the Hebrew servants be set free;
1:2000⧉ ⤴︎
ὁ γὰρ νόμος σαφῶς διηγόρευ σεν , ἓξ μὲν ἔτη τούτους δουλεῦσαι , τῷ δὲ ἑβδόμῳ ἔτει τῆς ἐλευθερίας τυχεῖν
因為律法曾明明宣告,這些人當服事六年,到第七年就當得著自由。
for the law had plainly declared that these should serve six years, but in the seventh year should obtain their freedom.
1:2001⧉ ⤴︎
Ὑπακούσαντες δὲ ἅπαν τες , καὶ τὴν ἐλευθερίαν μεταδόντες , πάλιν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν προτέραν εἵλκυσαν δουλείαν , κακῇ μεταμε λείᾳ χρησάμενοι
然而眾人雖都順從,賜下了自由,卻又把他們拉回從前的奴役中,作了惡的反悔。
But all having obeyed and granted freedom, they again dragged them back into their former servitude, employing an evil repentance.
1:2002⧉ ⤴︎
Ἀγανακτήσας τοίνυν ὁ τῶν ὅλων Θεὸς , ἀναμιμνήσκει μὲν τῆς ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ δουλείας , καὶ τῆς γεγενημένης ἐλευθερίας , καὶ τῆς μετὰ ταῦτα δεδομένης νομοθεσίας·
因此萬有的神被激怒了,就提醒他們在埃及所受的奴役,並所賜下的自由,以及此後所賜下的律法;
Therefore the God of all, being provoked, reminds them of the servitude in Egypt, and of the freedom that had been granted, and of the legislation given thereafter;
1:2003⧉ ⤴︎
ἐπιμέμφεται δὲ , ὡς ἀγαπή σασι μὲν τοῦ νόμου τὴν φυλακὴν , μεταμεληθεῖσι δὲ , καὶ τοῦτον πατήσασιν
祂責備他們,說他們曾愛慕遵守律法,卻又反悔,將律法踐踏於腳下。
and He reproaches them as having loved the keeping of the law, but then having repented and trampled it underfoot.
1:2004⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐπιστρέψαντες γὰρ , φησὶ , ποιῆσαι τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς μου , τοῦ καλέσαι ἄφεσιν ἕκαστον τοῦ πλησίον αὑτοῦ·
祂說:「你們曾回轉行我眼中看為正的事,向各人的鄰舍宣告自由;」
'For having turned,' He says, 'to do what is right in My eyes, so as to proclaim liberty every man to his neighbor;'
1:2005⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ συνετελέσατε διαθήκην κατὰ πρόσωπόν μου ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ οὗ ἐπεκλήθη τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐπ' αὐτῷ
「並在稱為我名下的殿中,在我面前立了約。」
'and you made a covenant before My presence in the house upon which My name was called.'
1:2006⧉ ⤴︎
Ἔνδον γὰρ ἐν . τῷ ἀφιερωμένῳ μοι οἴκῳ , ἐμοῦ παρόντος τὰς συν . θήκας ποιησάμενοι τῆς ἀφέσεως , παραυτίκα ταύτας παρέβησαν
因為他們在那分別為聖歸給我的殿內,在我面前立了釋放的約,卻立刻違背了這約。
For within, in the house consecrated to Me, in My presence having made the covenants of the release, they straightway transgressed them.
1:2007⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐπειδὴ τοίνυν οὐκ ἐβουλήθητε ποιή σασθαι τὴν ἄφεσιν·
「因此,既然你們不肯施行釋放;」
'Since therefore you were not willing to grant the release;'
1:2008⧉ ⤴︎
Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καλῶ ὑμῖν ἄφεσιν , φησὶ Κύριος , εἰς τὴν μάχαιραν , καὶ εἰς τὸν θάνατον , καὶ εἰς τὸν λιμόν
「看哪,我向你們宣告一種釋放,」耶和華說,「就是交給刀劍、瘟疫和飢荒。」
'Behold, I proclaim to you a release,' says the Lord, 'to the sword, and to the pestilence, and to the famine.'
1:2009⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ δώσω ὑμᾶς εἰς διασπορὰν πάσαις ταῖς βασιλείαις τῆς γῆς . Ἐλέγχει δὲ καὶ τὴν τοῦ ὅρκου παράβασιν
「我必使你們分散在地上萬國之中。」祂也定他們違背誓言的罪。
'And I will give you up to dispersion among all the kingdoms of the earth.' And He also convicts them of the breaking of the oath.

Καὶ δώσω τοὺς ἀνθρώπους τοὺς παρ εληλυθότας τὴν διαθήκην μου , τοὺς μὴ στή σαντας τοὺς λόγους τῆς διαθήκης μου ἣν ἐποίησαν κατὰ πρόσωπόν μου , τὸν μόσχον ὃν ἐποίησαν εἰς δύο , καὶ διῆλθον διὰ μέσου τῶν διχοτομημάτων αὐτοῦ , τοὺς ἄρχοντας Ἰούδα , καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας Ἱερουσαλὴμ , τοὺς δυνατοὺς , καὶ τοὺς ἱερεῖς , καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν τῆς γῆς , τοὺς διελθόντας ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν διχοτο μημάτων τοῦ μόσχου
「我必將那些違背我約、不堅守他們在我面前所立之約言的人交出去——就是他們將牛犢劈成兩半,從那切開的兩塊中間經過的人——即猶大的首領、耶路撒冷的首領、勇士、祭司,和地上的眾民,就是從那牛犢切開的兩塊中間經過的人。」
'And I will give up the men who have transgressed My covenant, who did not confirm the words of My covenant which they made before My presence — the calf which they made into two, and passed through the midst of its severed pieces — the princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, and the mighty men, and the priests, and all the people of the land, who passed through the midst of the severed pieces of the calf.'

Οὕτως εἰώθεισαν ὀμνύναι κατὰ τὸ παλαιόυ
他們在古時習慣以這樣的方式起誓。
In this manner they were accustomed to swear in ancient times.

Ἀμέλει καὶ ὁ τῶν ὅλων Θεὸς πρὸς τὸν Ἀβραὰμ τὰς συνθήκας ποιούμενος , κριὸν τριετῆ , καὶ μόσχον , καὶ τράγον , ὁμοχρόνους διχοτομηθῆναι κελεύσας , καὶ τὰ τμήματα ἀντιπρόσωπα τεθεῖναι ἀλλήλοις , κλίβανον καπνιζόμενον , καὶ λαμπάδας πυρὸς , ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν διχοτομημάτων πεποίηκε διελθεῖν , κατὰ τὸ κρατοῦν ἔθος τὰς πρὸς αὐτὸν συν θήκας ποιούμενος·
的確,萬有的神與亞伯拉罕立約時,曾吩咐把一隻三年的公綿羊、一隻牛犢和一隻同年的公山羊劈成兩半,將切塊彼此相對擺列,又使冒煙的爐和火把從那切開的兩塊中間經過,照著當時通行的習俗與他立約;
Indeed the God of all, when making the covenant with Abraham, having commanded a three-year-old ram, and a calf, and a goat of the same age to be cut in two, and the pieces to be set opposite one another, caused a smoking furnace and torches of fire to pass through the midst of the severed pieces, making His covenant with him according to the prevailing custom;
1:2013⧉ ⤴︎
τοῦτο καὶ οὗτοι δεδράκασι , τὰς περὶ τῆς ἐλευθερίας τῶν Ἑβραίων οἰκετῶν ἐπαγγε λίας ποιούμενοι , καὶ ὅρκῳ τὴν ἐλευθερίαν βεβαιῶσαι βουλόμενοι·
這些人也如此行,就他們對希伯來僕人自由所作的應許起了誓,願意用誓言堅定那自由;
this too these men had done, making their promises concerning the freedom of the Hebrew servants, and desiring to confirm that freedom with an oath;
1:2014⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλὰ τοῦτον παραυτίκα παρέβησαν
然而他們立刻就違背了它。
but they straightway transgressed it.
1:2015⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ τῷ βασιλεῖ καὶ τοῖς ἄρχουσιν ἐπιθήσειν τὸν τῆς δουλείας ζυγόν
並要把奴役的軛加在王和眾首領身上。
and to lay upon the king and the princes the yoke of servitude.
1:2016⧉ ⤴︎
Ταύτην συμπεράνας τὴν προφητείαν , πρεσβυτέρας ἀναμιμνήσκει προῤῥήσεως
祂既結束了這預言,便提醒他們一個更早的宣告。
Having brought this prophecy to a conclusion, He reminds them of an older declaration.

Ἐν γὰρ ταῖς ἡμέραις Ἰωακεὶμ , υἱοῦ Ἰωσίου βασιλέως Ἰούδα , τοὺς υἱοὺςῬηχὰβ εἰς τὸν θεῖον ναὸν εἰσαγαγεῖν προσετάχθη , καὶ ἐν μιᾷ τῶν αὐλῶν οἶνον τούτοις προσενεγκεῖν
因為在猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬的日子,他奉命把利甲的子孫帶進聖殿,在其中一個院子裡把酒擺在他們面前。
For in the days of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah king of Judah, he was commanded to bring the sons of Rechab into the divine temple, and in one of the courts to set wine before them.

Ἐγὼ δὲ , φησὶ , τὸ προσταχθὲν πεπλήρωκα , καὶ κερά μια οἴνου πλήρη προτεθεικὼς , παρηγγύων πιεῖν
他說:「我遵行了所吩咐的,擺上盛滿酒的罈子,勸他們喝。」
'But I,' he says, 'fulfilled what was commanded, and having set forth jars full of wine, I urged them to drink.'

Ἀντέλεγον δὲ ἐκεῖνοι , λέγοντες·

But they refused, saying:

ὅτι Ἰωναδὰβ υἱὸς Ῥηχὰβ , ὁ πατὴρ ἡμῶν , ἐνετείλατο ἡμῖν , εἰπών·
「利甲的兒子約拿達,我們的先祖,曾吩咐我們,說:」
'that Jonadab son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying:'

Οὐ μὴ πίητε οἶνον ὑμεῖς , καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν , ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος
「你們和你們的子孫永不可喝酒,直到永遠。」
'You shall never drink wine, neither you nor your sons, forever.'

(ζʹ ) Καὶ οἰκίας οὐ μὴ οἰκοδομήσητε , καὶ σπέρμα μὴ σπείρητε , καὶ ἀμπελῶνας μὴ φυτεύσητε , μηδὲ ἔστω ὑμῖν·
(第七節)「你們也不可建造房屋,不可撒種,不可栽種葡萄園,也不可擁有這些;」
(7) 'And you shall not build houses, and you shall not sow seed, and you shall not plant vineyards, neither let there be any for you;'
1:2023⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλ' ἐν σκηναῖς κατοικήσετε πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ὑμῶν·
「乃要一生住在帳棚裡;」
'but in tents you shall dwell all your days;'
1:2024⧉ ⤴︎
ὅπως ζήσητε ἡμέρας πολλὰς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς , ἐφ' ἧς ὑμεῖς διατρίβετε ἐπ' αὐτῆς
「使你們得以在所寄居的地上長久存活。」
'that you may live many days upon the land in which you sojourn.'

Τούτων δὲ , φησὶν , ἡμεῖς τῶν λόγων ἀκούσαντες , τὰς πατρῴας ἐφυλάξαμεν ἐντο λὰς , σὺν ταῖς γυναιξὶ καὶ τοῖς υἱέσι·
他說:「我們聽了這些話,就與我們的妻子兒女一同遵守先祖的誡命;」
'And we,' he says, 'having heard these words, kept our fathers' commandments, together with our wives and our sons;'
1:2026⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ οὔτε οἰκίας . ἐδειμάμεθα , οὔτε γεωργίας ἐπεμελήθημεν·
「我們既不建造房屋,也不從事耕種;」
'and we neither built houses, nor cared for husbandry;'
1:2027⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλ' ἐν σκηναῖς οἰκοῦντες μέχρι τοῦ παρόντος διετελέσαμεν·
「乃是住在帳棚裡,直到如今;」
'but dwelling in tents we have continued until the present;'
1:2028⧉ ⤴︎
νῦν δὲ τῶν Βαβυλωνίων ἐπελθόντων , εἰς τήνδε τὴν πόλιν καταφυγεῖν ἠναγκάσθημεν
「但如今巴比倫人來攻我們,我們就不得不逃到這城裡避難。」
'but now, the Babylonians having come upon us, we were compelled to take refuge in this city.'
1:2029⧉ ⤴︎
Θαυμάσαι δὲ ἄξιον καὶ τοῦ πατρὸς τὴν νομοθεσίαν , καὶ τῶν υἱῶν καὶ τῶν ἀπογόνων τὴν εὐπείθειαν·
那先祖的立法,以及眾子與後裔的順服,都是值得驚歎的;
It is worthy to marvel both at the father's legislation, and at the obedience of the sons and of their descendants;
1:2030⧉ ⤴︎
τὸν γὰρ ἀφρόντιδα καὶ ἀκτήμονα βίον ἠγάπησαν , καὶ τὸ πάντων παρα δοξότατον , ὅτι παῖδας ἔχοντες ὠλιγώρουν τῆς κτή σεως , τῆς θείας ἐλπίδος τὸ κατὰ σφᾶς αὐτοὺς ἐξαρ τήσαντες
因為他們喜愛那無憂無慮、一無所有的生活,而最令人稱奇的是,他們雖有兒女,卻輕看產業,把自己的一切都繫於對神的盼望之上。
for they loved the carefree and possessionless life, and — most paradoxical of all — that though they had children, they made light of possessions, having hung upon the divine hope all that concerned themselves.
1:2031⧉ ⤴︎
Εἰ δὲ κατὰ τὸν τοῦ νόμου καιρὸν , ὃς οὐκ εἶχε τὴν τελειότητα , διὰ τὴν τῶν νομοθετουμένων ἀσθένειαν , τὴν ἄκραν οὗτοι φιλοσοφίαν ἠσπάσαντο , τίνες ἂν ἐγένοντο τὸν εὐαγγελικὸν ἀκούσαντες νό μον; Ἀλλ' ὁ τῶν ὅλων Θεὸς κελεύει τῷ προφήτῃ , ἅπασιν εἰπεῖν τοῖς τὴν Ἱερουσαλὴμ οἰκοῦσιν , ὅτι Οὗτοι μὲν τὴν τοῦ πατρὸς φυλάττοντες ἐντολὴν , πιεῖν οὐκ ἠθέλησαν οἶνον·
然而,在律法的時代——那律法因所立法之人的軟弱而不具備完全——這些人尚且擁抱了最高的德行修為,那麼倘若他們聽見了福音的律法,又會成為怎樣的人呢?可是萬有的神卻吩咐先知,對一切住在耶路撒冷的人說:這些人謹守他們祖先的誡命,不肯喝酒;
But if in the time of the Law, which did not possess perfection because of the weakness of those for whom it legislated, these men embraced the highest philosophy of life, what manner of men would they have become had they heard the evangelical law? Yet the God of all commands the prophet to say to all who dwell in Jerusalem: These men, keeping the commandment of their father, refused to drink wine;
1:2032⧉ ⤴︎
ὑμεῖς δὲ , καὶ προφητικὰς διδα σκαλίας νύκτωρ καὶ μεθ' ἡμέραν δεχόμενοι , κατὰ τοὺς ἐμοὺς οὐ πολιτεύεσθε νόμους
至於你們,雖然日夜領受先知的教誨,卻不照我的律法而生活。
but you, though receiving prophetic teachings night and day, do not order your lives according to my laws.
1:2033⧉ ⤴︎
Οὗ δὴ χάριν , ὑμῖν ἐπάξω παντοδαπὰς συμφορὰς , τοῖς δὲ τοῦ Ῥηχὰβ ἀπογόνοις , τὴν πατρῴαν φυλάξασιν ἐντολὴν , τὸ κάλ λιστον τῶν ἀγαθῶν ἐπαγγέλλεται
為此緣故,我要將各樣的災禍降在你們身上;至於利甲的後裔,那守住祖先誡命的,祂卻應許賜下至美的福分。
For this reason I will bring upon you calamities of every kind, while to the descendants of Rechab, who have kept their ancestral commandment, He promises the fairest of good things.
1:2034⧉ ⤴︎
Οὐ μὴ ἐκλείψει , φησὶν , ἀνὴρ ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν Ἰωναδὰβ , υἱοῦ Ῥηχὰβ , παρεστηκὼς κατὰ πρόσωπόν μου , πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς γῆς
祂說:利甲之子約拿達的子孫中,必不斷有人站立在我面前,直到地上一切的日子。
There shall not fail, He says, a man from among the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab, standing before my presence, all the days of the earth.
1:2035⧉ ⤴︎
Ἰστέον μέντοι , ὡς ἅπας ἐκείνους φυλάττων τοὺς νόμους , υἱὸς Ἰωναδὰβ υἱοῦ Ῥηχὰβ χρηματίζει
然而應當明白,凡守那些律法的人,都稱為利甲之子約拿達的兒子。
It should be understood, however, that everyone who keeps those laws is called a son of Jonadab the son of Rechab.
1:2036⧉ ⤴︎
Μετὰ ταῦτα λέγει , ὡς προσετάχθη πᾶσαν συγ γράψαι τὴν προφητείαν
此後他說,他奉命把全部的預言記錄下來。
After this he says that he was commanded to write down the whole prophecy.
1:2037⧉ ⤴︎
Κεφαλίδα δὲ βιβλίου καλεῖ τὰ εἰλήματα , οἷς μέχρι τοῦ παρόντος φίλον Ἰουδαίοις κεχρῆσθαι
他所稱的「書卷」,指的是猶太人直到如今仍樂於使用的卷軸。
By 'the roll of a book' he means the scrolls which the Jews have been pleased to use down to the present day.
1:2038⧉ ⤴︎
Εἰκὸς γὰρ , φησὶν , ἀκριβέ στερον αὐτοὺς μεμαθηκότας τὰ ἀπειληθέντα κακὰ , διὰ τῆς μεταμελείας τῆς σωτηρίας τυχεῖν·
他說,這是有可能的:他們既更確切地知道了所威嚇要臨到的災禍,便可藉著悔改而得著救恩。
For it is likely, he says, that having learned more exactly the evils that were threatened, they would through repentance obtain salvation.
1:2039⧉ ⤴︎
ποιεῖ δὲ τὸ προσταχθὲν ὁ προφήτης
於是先知照著所吩咐的行了。
And the prophet does what was commanded.
1:2040⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ αὐτὸς μὲν , ὑπὸ τῆς θείας ἐνεργούμενος χάριτος , προσέφερε τοὺς χρη σμούς·
他本人被神聖的恩典所感動,宣講出那些神諭;
He himself, being energized by the divine grace, delivered the oracles;
1:2041⧉ ⤴︎
ἔγραφε δὲ τούτους ὁ Βαρούχ
而巴錄則把這些記錄下來。
and Baruch wrote them down.
1:2042⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἐπειδήπερ εἰς τὸν θεῖον νεὼν εἰσελθεῖν ἐκωλύετο , (καθεῖρκτο γὰρ ,) τῷ Βαροὺχ παρεγγυᾷ ἀναγνῶναι τῷ λαῷ τὰ συγγεγραμμένα·
既然他被攔阻不得進入神聖的殿(因為他被囚禁了),便囑咐巴錄向百姓宣讀所寫下的話;
And since he was hindered from entering the divine temple (for he had been shut up), he charges Baruch to read to the people what had been written;
1:2043⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ συχνοῦ διελθόντος χρόνου , δη μοτελοῦς ἐπιτελουμένης νηστείας , ὁ Βαροὺχ ἀνέγνω τὴν προφητείαν·
過了許久,當百姓正舉行公眾的禁食時,巴錄就宣讀了那預言;
and after a considerable time had passed, when a public fast was being observed, Baruch read the prophecy aloud;
1:2044⧉ ⤴︎
εἷς δὲ τῶν ἀκουσάντων , εὐσεβέ στερον κινηθεὶς , μηνύει τοῖς ἄρχουσι τὰ ἠπειλημένα κακά·
聽見的人中有一位,因著更虔誠的感動,便將所威嚇的災禍稟告了首領;
and one of those who heard, being moved with greater piety, reported to the rulers the evils that had been threatened;
1:2045⧉ ⤴︎
οἱ δὲ τὸν Βαροὺχ μετεστείλαντο , καὶ ἀναγνῶναι προσέταξαν , καὶ δέους ἐμπλησθέντες τὸν τούτων μαθεῖν ἐσπούδασαν συγγραφέα
他們就打發人去請巴錄,吩咐他宣讀,並且滿心恐懼,急切地想知道這些話的作者是誰。
and they sent for Baruch, ordered him to read, and being filled with fear, they earnestly sought to learn who was the writer of these words.
1:2046⧉ ⤴︎
Ὁ δὲ Βαροὺχ ἐδί δαξεν , ὡς Ἱερεμίας ὑπὸ τῆς θείας ἐμπνεόμενος χάριτος ταῦτά μοι παρηγγύησε γράψαι
巴錄便告訴他們,是耶利米受神聖恩典的感動,囑咐他寫下這些話。
And Baruch informed them that Jeremiah, inspired by the divine grace, had charged him to write these things.
1:2047⧉ ⤴︎
Οἱ δὲ ἄρχον τες τὸ βιβλίον ἔδοσαν τῷ βασιλικῷ γραμματεῖ·
首領們就把書卷交給王室的書記;
And the rulers gave the book to the royal scribe;
1:2048⧉ ⤴︎
τῷ δὲ Βαροὺχ φυγεῖν παρηγγύησαν·
又囑咐巴錄逃走;
and they charged Baruch to flee;
1:2049⧉ ⤴︎
ἐμήνυσαν δὲ τὰ συγ γεγραμμένα τῷ βασιλεῖ
並把所寫下的話稟報給王。
and they reported what had been written to the king.
1:2050⧉ ⤴︎
Ὁ δὲ ἤγαγε μὲν τὸν γραμ ματέα , καὶ ἀναγνῶναι κελεύει
王就叫那書記進來,吩咐他宣讀。
And he brought in the scribe, and orders him to read.
1:2051⧉ ⤴︎
παράνομος , τὰς ἀναγινωσκομένας ἐκτέμνων σελίδας . τῷ πυρὶ παρεδίδου·
那不法的人,將所宣讀的書頁一一割下,投入火中;
The lawless one, cutting off the pages as they were read, delivered them to the fire;
1:2052⧉ ⤴︎
διὰ γὰρ τὴν τοῦ χειμῶνος ὥραν ἐσχάρα παρέκειτο
因為正值冬季,有火盆放在旁邊。
for on account of the season of winter a brazier stood at hand.
1:2053⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ οὐκ ἐζήτησαν , φησὶ , τὸν Κύριον·
他說:他們並沒有尋求主;
And they did not seek the Lord, he says;
1:2054⧉ ⤴︎
οὐδὲ διέῤῥηξαν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ πάντες οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ , οἱ ἀκούσαντες πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους
王和他一切聽見這些話的臣僕,也沒有撕裂衣服。
neither did they rend their garments, the king and all his servants who heard all these words.
1:2055⧉ ⤴︎
Ὑπέθεντο γὰρ οὗτοι τῷ βασιλεῖ , μὴ κατακαῦσαι τὸ βι βλίον , καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν αὐτῶν
因為這些人曾勸告王不要焚燒那書卷,王卻不聽從他們。
For these had counseled the king not to burn the book, and he did not listen to them.
1:2056⧉ ⤴︎
Οὐκ ἠρκέσθη δὲ τῇ τολμηθείσῃ παρανομίᾳ ὁ δυσσεβὴς βασιλεύς·
然而那不敬虔的王,並不以他所膽敢行的不法為足;
But the impious king was not content with the lawlessness he had dared;
1:2057⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλὰ τὸν Βαροὺχ καὶ τὸν Ἱερεμίαν συλληφθῆναι προσ έταξεν
反倒下令要拿住巴錄和耶利米。
rather he commanded that Baruch and Jeremiah be seized.
