Μετὰ γὰρ τὴν ἐκ Βαβυλῶνος ἐπάνοδον τελείως τῆς γῆς μετανάσται γεγόνασιν
因為在從巴比倫歸回之後,他們仍完全被遷離本地,成了流亡之民。
For after the return from Babylon, they have become entirely emigrants from the land.

Ἀμφίβολος [ἀναμφίβολος ] οὖν αὕτη ἡ προφητεία περὶ Χριστοῦ

This prophecy, then, is ambiguous [read: unambiguous] concerning Christ.

Ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται . Τὸν Κύριον ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦν Χριστὸν , τὸν πρὸ αἰώνων ἐκ τοῦ Πατρὸς , καὶ ἐκ Δαβὶδ κατὰ σάρκα
「看哪,日子將到。」指我們的主耶穌基督,祂在萬世之先出於父,按肉身則出於大衛。
"Behold, days are coming." [He means] our Lord Jesus Christ, who is before the ages from the Father, and from David according to the flesh.

σωθήσεται . Ἰούδας , ὁ κατὰ . τὸ κρυπτὸν Ἰουδαῖος·
「……必得拯救。」指猶大——即那在隱密之處作猶太人的人。
"...shall be saved." [Meaning] Judah — he who is a Jew in secret.

ὁ τὴν ἐν πνεύματι λαμβάνων περιτομὴν , Ἰσραὴλ ὁ πνευματικὸς , ὁ διὰ Χριστὸν νοῦν κτησάμενος ὁρῶντα Θεόν

He who receives circumcision in the spirit, the spiritual Israel, who through Christ has acquired a mind that beholds God.

"Josedek." Josedek is interpreted as "Joa is righteous," that is, "our righteousness" —

Ἐν τοῖς προφήταις ἐπειδὴ καὶ προφήτης ἠξίωσε κληθῆναι , καθὸ γέγονεν ἅνθρωπος , ὁ τοῦ Θεοῦ Υἱὸς , ὁ τῶν προφητῶν Δεσπότης , κατὰ τὸν διὰ Μωσέως χρησμὸν λέγοντα , Προφήτην ὑμῖν ἀναστήσει Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν ὡς ἐμέ·
「在眾先知中」——因為神的兒子、眾先知的主,就其成為人而言,也甘願被稱為先知,正如藉摩西所傳的神諭所說:「耶和華你們的神,要從你們中間興起一位先知像我——」
"Among the prophets" — since also, insofar as he became man, the Son of God, the Master of the prophets, deigned to be called a prophet, according to the oracle given through Moses which says, "A prophet will the Lord your God raise up for you like me —"

「……凡事你們都要聽從他。」
"...in all things you shall listen to him."

Συνετρίβη ἡ καρδία μου . Ἐπτοήθη ὁ προφήτης , ἐν αἰνίγματι τὸ κατὰ Χριστὸν θεωρήσας μυστήριον
「我的心破碎了。」先知因在隱謎中看見了關乎基督的奧祕而驚懼戰慄。
"My heart is broken." The prophet was struck with dread, having beheld in a riddle the mystery concerning Christ.

Ὅτι ἀπὸ προσώπου . Τῶν ψευδοπροφητῶν καὶ ψευδοδιδασκάλων
「因……的緣故。」指假先知與假教師,
"Because of the presence of..." [He means] the false prophets and false teachers,

ὧν τὰ λογικὰ τρέφονται ποίμνια
那些理性的羊群正是由他們所餵養。
by whom the rational flocks are fed.

Καὶ ἡ ἰσχὺς αὐτῶν . Οὐ τοσοῦτον , φησὶν , ἴσχυσαν , ὅσον καὶ ἐβουλεύσαντο
「他們的力量。」他說:他們所擁有的力量,並不如他們所圖謀的那麼多。
"And their strength." They did not, he says, have as much strength as they had intended.

Ἐβούλοντο γὰρ εἰ ἠδύναντο καὶ χείρονα ποιεῖν
因為他們若能夠,甚至願意做出更惡劣的事。
For they wished, had they been able, to do even worse things.

Καὶ ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ μου . Ἐν γὰρ τῷ θείῳ ναῷ εἴδωλα ἀπέθεντο , ὡς καὶ Ἰεζεκιὴλ ἐθεώρησεν
「且在我的殿中。」因為他們在神聖的殿裡安放了偶像,正如以西結所見異象一般。
"And in my house." For they set up idols in the divine temple, as Ezekiel also beheld.

Διὰ τοῦτο γενέσθω ἡ ὁδὸς αὐτῶν . Ἐπειδὴ τοῦ φωτὸς ἔξω ἑαυτοὺς κατέστησαν , ἐν σκοτίᾳ καὶ γνόφῳ πορεύονται
「因此,願他們的道路變成……」因為他們把自己置於光明之外,所以他們在黑暗與幽暗中行走。
"Therefore let their way become..." Since they set themselves outside the light, they walk in darkness and gloom.

Ὅτι ματαιοῦσιν ἑαυτοῦ ὅρασιν; Τὰς ματαίας καὶ δαιμονικὰς ὁράσεις ὡς ἀληθεῖς προσφέρουσι
「因為他們使自己的異象變為虛妄?」他們把虛妄且出於鬼魔的異象,當作真實的異象來呈現。
"For they make their own vision vain?" They present vain and demonic visions as though they were true.

Ὅτι τίς ἔσται ἐν ὑποστήματι; Οὐ μόνον , φησὶ , ψευδῆ προεφήτευον , ἀλλὰ καὶ διαβάλλοντες τοὺς ἀληθεῖς προφήτας , ἔλεγον·
「因為誰曾站立在會議(根基)之中呢?」他說:他們不僅發假預言,還毀謗真先知,說:
"For who shall stand in the council?" Not only, he says, did they prophesy falsely, but also, slandering the true prophets, they said:

Τίς γὰρ ἐπλησίασε τῷ Θεῷ , ἵνα καὶ ἀκούσῃ τῶν λόγων αὐτοῦ; Καὶ ἕως ἂν στήσῃ αὐτὸ ἀπὸ ἐγχειρήματος . Ἕως ἂν , φησὶν , ὃ προεχειρίσατο βούλευμα ὁ Θεὸς , τουτέστιν , ὃ ἠθέλησεν , εἰς ἔργον ἀγάγῃ
「誰曾親近神,以致聽見祂的話呢?」又:「直等到那事從所定的謀算中得以確立。」他說:直到神使祂預先所定的計畫——也就是祂所願意的——付諸實行為止。
"For who has drawn near to God, that he might also hear his words?" And, "until it be established out of the undertaking." Until, he says, God brings into effect the plan he had determined beforehand, that is, what he willed.

Καὶ εἰ ἔστησαν ἐν τῇ ὑποστάσει μου . Ἀντὶ τοῦ , Εἰ ἐπλησίασάν μοι·
「他們若曾站立在我的會議(根基)中。」意即:「他們若曾親近我」——
"And if they had stood in my council." Instead of: "if they had drawn near to me" —

Εἰ τὴν ὑπόστασιν τῆς προφητείας παρ' ἐμοῦ ἔσχον , τουτέστι , εἰ παρ' ἐμοῦ ἦσαν σοφισθέντες , τὸν λαόν μου ἀπέστρεφον ἂν ἀπὸ τῶν πονηρῶν ἐπιτηδευμάτων αὐτῶν
假若他們是從我領受了預言的根基——也就是說,假若他們是從我得著智慧——他們就會使我的百姓轉離他們的惡行了。
if they had had the foundation of prophecy from me, that is, if they had been made wise by me, they would have turned my people away from their evil practices.

Ὁ προφήτης ἐν ᾧ τὸ ἐνύπνιόν ἐστι . Ἐπειδή εἰσι καὶ ἐκ Θεοῦ ἐνύπνια , δεῖγμα πάλιν ποιεῖται τῶν ψευδῶν καὶ ἀληθινῶν ἐνυπνίων τὰ ἀποτελέσματα , ὅτι τὰ μὲν ἐκ Θεοῦ ἐνύπνια , πάντως ἀληθεύει , τὰ δὲ ἐκ δαιμόνων , οὐ πάντως
「那有夢的先知。」因為也有出於神的夢,所以他再次以真夢與假夢的結果作為證明:凡出於神的夢必然應驗為真,但出於鬼魔的夢卻不盡然。
"The prophet with whom there is a dream." Since there are also dreams from God, he again sets forth as a proof the outcomes of false and true dreams: that the dreams from God are always true, but those from demons are not always so.

Πρὸς ἑκατέρους οὖν τοὺς προφήτας ἁρμόζει ὁ λόγος , τούς τε ἀληθεῖς , καὶ ψευδεῖς
所以這句話對兩種先知都適用,無論是真先知或假先知。
The statement, then, applies to both kinds of prophets, both the true and the false.

Τί τὸ ἄχυρον πρὸς τὸν σῖτον; Ἄχυρον τροφὴ πυρὸς , τῶν ψευδοπροφητῶν ὁ λόγος·
「糠粃與麥子有什麼相干?」糠粃是火的食物——指假先知的言語;
"What is the chaff to the wheat?" Chaff is food for fire — the word of the false prophets;

σῖτος δὲ ἀνθρώπῳ ζωτικὴν χαρίζεται δύναμιν , ὁ λόγος τοῦ ἀληθοῦς προφήτου
而麥子則賜給人生命的力量——指真先知的言語。
but wheat bestows life-giving power upon man — the word of the true prophet.

Ποία γὰρ κοινωνία τῷ ψεύδει πρὸς τὴν ἀλήθειαν; . Οὐκ ἰδοὺ οἱ λόγοι . Τουτέστιν , ἐνεργεῖς καὶ δυνατοί
「因為虛謊與真理有何相通之處呢?」「我的話豈不是……」——意即:有效且大有能力。
"For what fellowship has falsehood with truth?" "Are not my words..." — that is, effective and powerful.

Καὶ νυστάζοντας νυσταγμὸν αὐτῶν . Τουτέστι , νήψεως μὴ μετέχοντες
「且沉睡在他們的沉睡中。」意即:不具備清醒警覺之心。
"And those slumbering their slumber." That is, not partaking of sober watchfulness.

Τί τὸ λῆμμα Κυρίου . Λῆμμα ὀργὴ μετὰ θυμοῦ , ἐκ τοῦ τὸν ἰσχυρότερον λαβόντα τὸν ἀσθενέστερον καταῤῥηγνύναι
「耶和華的重擔是什麼?」「重擔」(λῆμμα)意即帶著烈怒的忿怒,其字源出於:那強者抓住並擊潰那弱者。
"What is the burden of the Lord?" "Burden" [lēmma] means wrath together with fury, [derived] from the stronger, having seized [the weaker], crushing him down.

Καλεῖται δὲ λῆμμα , καὶ ὁ χρηματισμός
「重擔」一詞,也用來指神諭。
And "burden" is also used to mean an oracle.

Καὶ ἐκδικήσω τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐκεῖνον . Ἀντὶ τοῦ , τιμωρήσομαι , κεῖται
「我必向那人施報。」此語是用來表達「我必懲罰」之意。
"And I will avenge that man." It is used instead of "I will punish."

"And the burden of the Lord." The wrath, he says, is fashioned for man out of their own mouth;

因為神是無忿怒的,因祂也是不受動的。
for God is without wrath, since he is also without passion.

διὰ τοῦτο κελεύει , μὴ λέγεσθαι λῆμμα Κυρίου
因此祂吩咐,不可稱之為「耶和華的重擔」。
For this reason he commands that it not be called "the burden of the Lord."
1:622⧉ ⤴︎
Οὐ γὰρ Θεὸς ὀργίζεται , ἀλλ' ἑαυτοῖς τὴν ὀργὴν κατασκευάζομεν
因為並非神發怒,而是我們自己為自己造成了這忿怒。
For it is not God who is angered, but we ourselves fashion the wrath against ourselves.

Ἔδειξέ μοι Κύριος δύο καλάθους . Οἰκειότερον ἐπὶ τῆς τοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐλευθερίας [ ἴσ
「耶和華指給我看兩筐。」這更適合理解為關乎基督所賜的自由〔或許……〕
"The Lord showed me two baskets." More fittingly [understood] with reference to the freedom [brought] through Christ [perhaps...]

Καὶ στηριῶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς . Σημείωσαι , ὅτι τὸ στηρίζειν τὸν Θεὸν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς , ἐπὶ ἀμφοτέρων κεῖται , ἀγαθοῦ καὶ κακοῦ·
「我必定睛。」當留意:神「定睛」一語,可用於善與惡兩者——
"And I will fix my eyes." Note that God's "fixing his eyes" is used of both — the good and the evil —

Στηριῶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου εἰς κακά

"I will fix my eyes upon them for evil."

Ἐν τρισκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει Ἰωσία . Εἴκοσι καὶ τρία ἔτη , φησὶ , σπουδαίως διαμαρτύρομαι ὑμᾶς ἀπέχεσθαι τῆς εἰδωλολατρείας , καὶ οὐκ ἠκούσατε·
「約西亞十三年。」他說:二十三年之久,我懇切地見證、囑咐你們要遠離拜偶像之事,你們卻不聽從;
"In the thirteenth year of Josiah." For twenty-three years, he says, I have earnestly testified, urging you to abstain from idolatry, and you did not listen;

διὸ παραδώσω ὑμᾶς τοῖς Χαλδαίοις ἑβδομήκοντα ἔτη
因此我必將你們交在迦勒底人手中七十年。
therefore I will hand you over to the Chaldeans for seventy years.

Καὶ ἐλάλησα πρὸς ὑμᾶς ὀρθρίζων . Τὸ ὀρθρίζων , ἀντὶ τοῦ , μετὰ σπουδῆς·
「我清晨起來對你們說話。」「清晨起來」意即「懇切、殷勤地」——
"And I spoke to you, rising early." "Rising early" instead of "with earnestness" —

ὡς ἤδη λοιπὸν τοῦ χρόνου , τῆς ὀργῆς πλησιάζοντος
因為那時,忿怒的時候已經逐漸臨近了。
since, from then on, the time of wrath was already drawing near.

Πατριὰν ἀπὸ Βοῤῥᾶ . Τοὺς Βαβυλωνίους
「從北方來的宗族。」指巴比倫人。
A tribe from the north. [This means] the Babylonians.

Ὀσμὴν μύρου . Τὸν τέλειον τῆς λαμπρότητος αὐτῶν , καὶ πάσης χαρᾶς καὶ εὐημερίας ἀφανισμὸν ἐδήλωσεν
「膏油的香氣。」他指明他們的榮美、以及一切喜樂與昌盛,都將完全消失。
The scent of perfume. He signified the complete disappearance of their splendor, and of all joy and prosperity.

λάβε τὸ ποτήριον . Τὸ ποτήριον ἐπὶ ἐκδικήσεως κεῖται
「你拿這杯。」這杯是指懲罰報應而言。
Take the cup. The cup stands for retribution.

Καὶ ἐπότισα . Ἀντὶ τοῦ πληροφορίαν ἐδεξάμην , ὅτι πάντως ἔσται αὐτοῖς ἡ τιμωρία
「我就給他們喝。」意即:「我得了確據,知道刑罰必定臨到他們。」
And I gave [them] to drink. That is: 'I received full assurance that punishment would certainly come upon them.'

Καὶ πάντα περικεκαρμένον κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ . Τουτέστι , τοὺς μόρφωσιν εὐσεβείας ἔχοντας τοῖς δὲ οἰκείοις θελήμασι πορευομένους
「凡剃周圍頭髮、露出前額的人。」意指那些具有敬虔外貌、卻隨自己私意而行的人。
And everyone shaved round about the face. That is, those who have the outward form of piety, but walk according to their own wills.
1:636⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ πάντας τοὺς συμμίκτους . Μετὰ τὴν ἱστορίαν , τοὺς μὴ οἰκείους τῆς πίστεως νόει
「和一切雜族的人。」在字面歷史意義之外,當理解為那些不屬於信仰的人。
And all the mingled peoples. Beyond the historical sense, understand [by this] those who do not belong to the faith.
1:637⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἔσται , ὅταν μὴ βούλωνται δέξασθαι τὸ ποτήριον . Ἐπειδή εἰσί τινες μὴ εὐχαρίστως δεχόμενοι τὴν θείαν παιδείαν
「若他們不肯接這杯,就必如此。」因為有些人並不甘心領受神的管教。
And it shall be, when they are not willing to receive the cup. Since there are some who do not receive divine discipline gratefully.

Ὅτι ἐν πόλει . Τὴν πόλιν , φησὶν , ἐφ' ἣν ὠνομάσθη τὸ ὅνομά μου , ἁμαρτάνουσαν τιμωροῦμαι·
「因為在這城裡。」他說:「那被稱為我名下的城,若犯罪,我必懲罰她;」
For in the city. He says: 'The city upon which my name has been invoked, I punish when it sins;'

πόσῳ μᾶλλον τοὺς μὴ εἰδότας με; Ὑπὸ τοῦ οἰκητηρίου . Δῆλον δὲ , ὅτι τοῦ οὐρανοῦ
「何況那不認識我的人呢?」「從他的居所。」顯然是指從天上。
how much more those who do not know me? 'From his dwelling place.' It is clear that this means from heaven.

Ἐπὶ τοῦ τόπου . Ἐν τῷ τόπῳ ἑαυτοῦ , ᾧ χρηματίζει
「在那地方。」在他自己發出諭示的地方。
Upon the place. In his own place, where he utters his oracle.
1:641⧉ ⤴︎
Οἱ ἄξιοι , φησὶ , τοῦ σώζεσθαι , οἷς ἂν χρηματίσῃ Θεὸς , ἀποκριθήσονται , παρακαλοῦντες ἐνδο . θῆναι αὐτοῖς , ἕως ὅτε τελείως καρποφορήσωσι·
他說:那些配得拯救、蒙神應許之人,都要回應,懇求容讓他們,直到他們完全結出果子;
Those worthy of being saved, he says, to whom God gives answer, will respond, beseeching that [a reprieve] be granted them, until they should fully bear fruit;

τρυγῶντας γάρ φησι τοὺς καρποφοροῦντας
因為他稱結果子的人為「收割的人」。
for he calls those who bear fruit 'harvesters.'

συμπαραλαμβάνονται οἱ ἅγιοι τῇ πανωλεθρίᾳ
聖徒也一同被捲入這場全然的毀滅之中
the holy ones are caught up together in the utter destruction

Ταῦτα δὲ ἀρμόζει νοεῖν καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς καθολικῆς τοῦ Θεοῦ κρίσεως
這些話也適合理解為指神普世性的審判而言。
These things are also fitting to be understood with reference to God's universal judgment.

Ἰδοὺ κακά . Μετὰ τὰ ἐπὶ τοῦ Βαβυλωνίου γεγονότα , καὶ τὰ ἐπὶ τῆς συντελείας φησίν·
「看哪,災禍。」在敘述巴比倫人所造成的事之後,他接著也論及末世終局的事;
Behold, evils. After the events that happened at the hands of the Babylonian, he now speaks also of the events at the consummation [of the age];

Ἐγερθήσεται γὰρ ἔθνος ἐπὶ ἔθνος
「因為這國要興起攻擊那國。」
For nation shall rise up against nation.
1:647⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ λαίλαψ . Σύγχυσις μεγάλη καὶ ταραχὴ ἐπ' ἐσχάτοις τοῖς τοῦ αἰῶνος καιροῖς
「並有暴風。」指在這世代末後的時期,將有極大的混亂與動盪。
And a whirlwind. Great confusion and turmoil in the last times of the age.

Καὶ ἔσονται . Μετὰ τὸ αἰσθητὸν , καὶ τοὺς ὑπὸ τῆς ἁμαρτίας τετραυματισμένους νόει
「他們必如此。」除了字面的意思之外,也當理解為那些被罪所傷的人。
And they shall be. Beyond the literal sense, understand also those who have been wounded by sin.

Ἀλαλάξατε . Ἀλαλαγμὸν ἐνταῦθα οὐκ ἐπὶ νίκῃ τῶν πολεμίων , ἀλλ' ἐπὶ ταῖς οἰμωγαῖς φησιν

Cry aloud. Here he speaks of a war-cry not for victory over enemies, but for lamentations.

The shepherds are the leaders of the people.

Οἱ κριοὶ τῶν . Οἱ κατ' ἐξοχὴν ἐν τῷ λαῷ

The rams of the [flock]. Those who are preeminent among the people.

Καὶ πεσεῖσθε . Ἐπειδὴ ὁ σφάζων τὸ εὐτραφὲς σφάξει
「你們必仆倒。」因為那宰殺的,必宰殺那肥壯的。
And you shall fall. Since the one who slaughters will slaughter the well-fattened [victim].

Ὅτι ὠλόθρει . Ἐπὶ μὲν Ἰουδαίων τὰς θυσίας ,καὶ πάντα τὰ ἄλλα νόμιμα·
「因為他要毀滅。」就猶太人而言,是指祭祀與律法的其他一切規條;
For he was destroying. With reference to the Jews, [this means] the sacrifices and all the other observances of the law;

ἐπὶ δὲ τοῦ καθόλου τὰς διαγωγὰς αὐτῶν

but in the general sense, [it means] their conduct, their way of life.

Ἐγκατέλιπεν . Ἐπὶ μὲν Ἰουδαίων ὁ Κύριοςτὸν ἑαυτοῦ ναὸν καταλέλοιπεν·
「他已離棄。」就猶太人而言,是指主已離棄自己的聖殿;
He has forsaken. With reference to the Jews, the Lord has forsaken his own temple;

ἐπὶ δὲ τῆς συντελείας , ὡς λέων καταλελοιπὼς κατάλυμα , οὕτως συγχωρεῖται ὁ Σατανᾶς ἐξελθεῖν κατὰ τῶν ἀνθρώπων
而就末世終局而言,正如獅子離開了自己的巢穴,撒但也照樣被允許出來攻擊世人。
but with reference to the consummation, just as a lion has left its lair, so Satan is permitted to go forth against mankind.

Ὅτι ἐγενήθη . Ἐπειδὴ οἱ ἄνθρωποι κτηνώδεις γεγόνασιν , ὁ δὲ Σατανᾶς ἐστι θηρίον , ὡς ἐν ἐρήμῳ συγχωροῦνται ἅμα νέμεσθαι , διὰ τὸ ψυγῆναι τὴν ἀγάπην
「因為它已成為。」因為人變得如同牲畜一般,而撒但又是猛獸,他們便被允許一同在曠野中吃草,這是因愛心冷淡的緣故。
For it has become. Since men have become brutish, and Satan is a wild beast, they are permitted to graze together as in a desert, because love has grown cold.

Στῆθι ἐν αὐλῇ οἵκου Κυρίου . Διαμαρτύρασθαι κελεύει Θεὸς τῷ προφήτῃ τοὺς Ἰουδαίους , ἐπὶ τῷ φυλάττειν τὰ θεῖα νόμιμα , ἵνα μὴ ἐπέλθῃ αὐτοῖς ἡ ὀργή
「你要站在耶和華殿的院中。」神吩咐先知鄭重告誡猶太人,要謹守神聖的律法,免得忿怒臨到他們身上。
Stand in the court of the house of the Lord. God commands the prophet to solemnly charge the Jews to keep the divine ordinances, so that wrath might not come upon them.
1:659⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ τὴν πόλιν δώσω εἰς κατάραν . Ἵνα ᾖ ἐπικατάρατος , καὶ τοὺς αὐτῶν δὲ ἐχθροὺς οἱ ἄνθρωποι ἵνα ἔχωνται [εὔχωνται ] τὰ ὅμοια παθεῖν
「我必使這城成為咒詛。」使這城成為可咒詛的,以致人們也用以咒詛他人,願自己的仇敵遭受同樣的命運。
And I will give the city over to a curse. So that it may be accursed, and so that people might invoke it [as a curse formula], wishing their own enemies to suffer the same fate.

Καὶ ἤκουσαν . Ὁρᾷς , πῶς ἀγριαίνουσι καὶ ἀγανακτοῦσι; καὶ μὴν δι' αὐτὸ τοῦτο ἀναιρεθῆναι οὐκ ἐχρῆν
「他們聽見了。」你看,他們變得多麼兇暴、多麼憤怒?然而正因如此,他本不該被處死。
And they heard. Do you see how savage and indignant they become? And yet for this very reason he ought not to have been put to death.

Εἰ γὰρ Θεὸς ἐπέταξε , πεισθῆναι δεῖ
因為若是神所吩咐的,就當順從。
For if God commanded it, one must obey.
1:662⧉ ⤴︎
Τοῦτο ὑμᾶς λυπεῖ τὸ ῥῆμα , τὸ δὲ τὸν τοῦ ναοῦ τιμιώτερον ἐνυβρίζειν , οὐ πονηρὸν , οὐκ ἀσεβές; Πάνυ αὐτοὺς ἔδακνε τὸ ῥηθέν
這話使你們憂傷,難道侮辱那比聖殿更尊貴的一位,就不邪惡、不褻瀆嗎?這番話深深刺痛了他們。
Does this word grieve you, while to insult the one who is more precious than the temple is neither wicked nor impious? What was said stung them exceedingly.

Καὶ ἐξεκκλησιάσθη . Συνήχθη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τῶν πρεσβυτέρων τῆς γῆς τῆς περιχώρου
「眾人聚集成會。」四境之地的百姓與長老都聚集在一起。
And an assembly was gathered. All the people, together with the elders of the surrounding land, were gathered together.

Καὶ τὸ ὄρος . Τὸ ὄρος , ἐφ' ᾧ κεῖται ὁ ναὸς , εἰς ἐρήμωσιν
「這山。」聖殿所在的那座山,將要變為荒場。
And the mountain. The mountain on which the temple stands, [shall become] a desolation.

Πλὴν χεὶρ Ἀχεικάμ . Ἀχεικὰμ εἷς ἦν οὗτος τῶν δυνατῶν , προϊστάμενος Ἱερεμίου
「惟有亞希甘的手。」這亞希甘是權貴之一,是耶利米的保護者。
Except the hand of Ahikam. This Ahikam was one of the powerful men, who stood as protector of Jeremiah.

Ποίησον σεαυτῷ δεσμούς . Κελεύει ὁ Θεὸς τῷ προφήτῃ κλοιοὺς ἐμβαλεῖν εἰς . τὸν τράχηλον ἑαυτοῦ , καὶ πέμψαι τούτους πρὸς τοὺς βασιλεῖς , ὧν μέμνηται
「你要為自己作繩索。」神吩咐先知將軛套在自己頸項上,並將這些軛送到他所提及的列王那裡。
Make for yourself bonds. God commands the prophet to put yokes on his own neck, and to send them to the kings whom he mentions.

Καὶ τὰ θηρία . Θηρία ἐνταῦθα ἀγροῦ , τὰ πρὸς γεωργίαν ἐπιτήδεια κτήνη φησίν
「還有野獸。」這裡所說的「田野的走獸」,是指適合耕種之用的牲畜。
And the beasts. Here by 'beasts of the field' he means the animals suited for farming.

Εἰ προφῆταί εἰσι . Εἰ μὲν ἐκ τοῦ Θεοῦ ὁ λόγος , οὕτω νόησον·
「他們若是先知。」若這話是出於神,當如此理解:
If they are prophets. If the word is from God, understand it as follows:

Εἰ ἐγὼ αὐτοὺς ἀπέστειλα , δυνηθῶσι διαφυγεῖν με , φύγωσι τὴν ὀργήν·
「我若差遣了他們,就讓他們能逃避我,躲避這忿怒;」
'If I sent them, let them be able to escape me, let them flee the wrath;'

εἰ δὲ ἐκ τοῦ προφήτου ὁ λόγος , Ἔλθωσι , φησὶ , καὶ διακριθῶσι μετ' ἐμοῦ
但若這話是出於先知自己的,他說:就讓他們來,與我爭辯。
but if the word is from the prophet, let them come, he says, and contend with me.

Ἀληθῶς οὕτω ποιήσαι Κύριος . Ἀντὶ τοῦ , Γένοιτο οὕτως , ὡς σὺ φὴς , γενέσθω
「願耶和華果真如此成就。」意即:「願如此成就;就照你所說的,讓它發生吧。」
Truly, may the Lord do so. That is: 'May it be so; let it happen as you say.'

Ἐπιγνώσονται . Τουτέστι , τὸ πέρας τῶν πραγμάτων δείξει τῶν λόγων τὴν ἀλήθειαν
「他們將要知道。」意即:事情的結局將顯明這些話語的真實性。
They shall know. That is, the outcome of events will show the truth of the words.

Βάδιζε καὶ εἰπὸν πρὸς Ἀνανίαν . Ἐπ' ἐλέγχῳ τῆς ἀσεβείας ὑπηρετεῖ τῷ προστάττοντι , μηδένα κίνδυνον ὑφορώμενος
「你去對哈拿尼雅說。」他為了斥責這不敬虔之事而服事那發命令者,毫不畏懼任何危險。
Go and say to Hananiah. He serves the one who commands him for the rebuke of impiety, apprehending no danger.
1:674⧉ ⤴︎
Οὐδεὶς γὰρ λόγος τῆς προσκαίρου τοῖς ἁγίοις ζωῆς , ὅταν κελεύσῃ Θεός·
因為當神吩咐的時候,聖徒對今生短暫的生命毫不掛慮;
For the saints have no regard for temporal life, whenever God commands;

τὸν δὲ Θεὸν εἰς δίκην ἐκίνησεν Ἀνανίας ἐναντιούμενος
但哈拿尼雅卻因抗拒神,觸動了神的審判。
but Hananiah, by his opposition, provoked God to judgment.

Ἕτερα δὲ λέγειν ὁ προφήτης παρὰ τὰ προσταχθέντα δοκεῖ
但先知似乎說了與所吩咐的不同的話。
But the prophet seems to say things other than what had been commanded him.

Ἰσοδυναμοῦντα λέγων ἐσύστερον ὁ Πέτρος , Ἀνανία , φησὶ , διατί ἐπλήρωσεν ὁ Σατανᾶς τὴν καρδίαν σου ψεύσασθαι τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ἄγιον; Ὅθεν σὺν τῷ ἐλέγχῳ , ἡ τῆς κολάσεως ἀπειλὴ , τὸ δίκαιον τῆς τιμωρίας ἐμφαίνουσα
彼得後來說了意義相當的話:他說:「亞拿尼亞,為什麼撒但充滿了你的心,叫你欺哄聖靈?」由此,在斥責之外又加上懲罰的警告,顯明了刑罰的公義。
Peter later said something of equivalent force: 'Ananias,' he says, 'why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit?' Hence, along with the rebuke, came the threat of punishment, manifesting the justice of the penalty.

Ἐκ Θεοῦ τοίνυν οἱ παρὰ τοῦ προφήτου λόγοι·
因此,先知所說的話乃是出於神;
Therefore the words spoken by the prophet are from God;

καὶ μαρτυρεῖ τῆς προφητείας ἡ ἔκβασις
而事情的結局也為這預言作見證。
and the outcome bears witness to the prophecy.

Ὕστερον ἐξελθόντος Ἰεχονίου . Μετὰ τὸ ἀποικισθῆναι τὸν Ἰεχονίαν

Later, after Jeconiah had gone forth. After Jeconiah had been carried away into exile.

By the hand of Elasah. Through these men the letter was sent.

Thus said the Lord. Such is the beginning of the letter.

Ἀναιρῶν τοίνυν τὴν τούτων ἀπάτην , μακρότατον αὐτοῖς γενήσεσθαι λέγει τῆς ἀποικίας τὸν χρόνον
因此,他為了駁斥他們的欺妄,便說他們被擄的時期將會極其漫長。
Therefore, in refuting their deception, he says that the time of their exile will be very long.

Κελεύει δὲ καὶ ὑπὲρ τῶν πολεμίων προσεύχεσθαι
他又吩咐他們甚至要為仇敵禱告。
And he commands them to pray even for [their] enemies.

Τοῦτο γὰρ ἔσται , φησὶ , καὶ ὑπὲρ τῆς ὑμετέρας εἰρήνης
他說:因為這也將有助於你們自己的平安。
For this, he says, will also serve your own peace.
1:686⧉ ⤴︎
Οὕτω καὶ Παῦλος ὑπὲρ πάντων τῶν ἐν ὑπεροχῇ κελεύει προσεύχεσθαι , ἵνα ἤρεμον , φησὶν , καὶ ἡσύχιον βίον διάγωμεν ἐν πάσῃ εὐσεβείᾳ καὶ σεμνότητι
保羅也照樣吩咐要為一切在位掌權的人禱告,他說,好叫我們可以敬虔端正、平安無事地度日。
Thus also Paul commands us to pray for all who are in positions of authority, that, he says, we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all piety and dignity.

Ὁ αὐτὸς γάρ ἐστι Θεὸς , ὃς ἐπ' ἐσχάτων τῶν ἡμερῶν ἐλάλησεν ἡμῖν ἐν Υἱῷ
因為這位神乃是同一位,他在末世藉著兒子向我們說話。
For it is the same God, who in the last days has spoken to us by [his] Son.

Πῶς οὖν πονηρὸς ὁ Δημιουργός; ἢ τί παραλλάττει τοῦτο τοῦ ἐν Εὐαγγελίῳ ῥηθέντος·
那麼,創造主又怎能算是邪惡的呢?這與福音書所說的話,又有什麼不同呢?
How then is the Creator evil? Or how does this [teaching] differ from what is said in the Gospel:

Ἀγαπᾶτε τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ὑμῶν , καὶ προσεύχεσθε ὑπὲρ τῶν ἐπηρεαζόντων ὑμᾶς; Ἆρ' οὖν οὐκ ἐπηρεάσθησαν ἀπὸ [ ἴσ
「要愛你們的仇敵,為那凌辱你們的人禱告」?那麼,難道那些出自——
'Love your enemies, and pray for those who mistreat you'? Were not, then, the people of —

ἀπὸ ] Ἱερουσαλὴμ ὑπὸ Βαβυλωνίων; ἁλλ' ὅμως προσεύχονται ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν
——耶路撒冷的人,被巴比倫人所凌辱嗎?然而他們仍然為巴比倫人禱告。
— [the inhabitants of] Jerusalem, at the hands of the Babylonians? Yet nevertheless they pray on their behalf.

Καὶ ζητήσατε εἰς εἰρήνην . Προσεύξασθε , φησὶν , εἰρήνην τοῖς Βαβυλωνίοις , ἵνα καὶ ὑμεῖς εἰρηνεύητε
「你們要為此尋求平安。」他說:要為巴比倫人祈求平安,好叫你們自己也得平安。
And seek peace. Pray, he says, for peace for the Babylonians, so that you too may be at peace.

Σημείωσαι , ὅτι δεῖ προσεύχεσθαι ὑπὲρ τῶν κρατούντων , κἂν Ἕλληνες ὦσιν
當注意:即使掌權者是外邦人,也當為他們禱告。
Note that one must pray for those in power, even if they are pagans.

Καὶ ἐπιστήσω . Τουτέστιν , Ὄψεσθε τῶν ἐμῶν λόγων τὴν ἀλήθειαν
「我必成就這話。」意即:「你們必看見我話語的真實。」
And I will confirm it. That is: 'You shall see the truth of my words.'

Κατέστησεν ἡμῖν Κύριος προφήτας . Ψευδοπροφῆται ἦσαν καὶ ἐν τῇ Ἱερουσαλὴμ . ἀπατῶντες τὸν λαόν
「耶和華為我們立了先知。」在耶路撒冷也有假先知,迷惑百姓。
The Lord has appointed prophets for us. There were false prophets also in Jerusalem, deceiving the people.

Ἦσαν δὲ καὶ ἐν τῇ αἰχμαλωσίᾳ ἀπατῶντες τοὺς ἐν τῇ ἀποικίᾳ
但在被擄之地,也有人迷惑那些流亡的人。
But there were also [false prophets] in the captivity, deceiving those in exile.

Ἐπὶ Ἀχιὰβ καὶ ἐπὶ Σεδεκίαν . Οὗτοι λέγονται οἱ κατὰ Σωσάνναν πρεσβύτεροι

Concerning Ahab and concerning Zedekiah. These are said to be the elders [who appear] in [the story of] Susanna.

The Lord has made you priest. God says to Shemaiah: 'I did not appoint you a prophet, nor did I command you to write to Zephaniah against Jeremiah.'

Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπισκέψομαι . Ἡ προθεσμία τῆς ἀνακλήσεως

Φωνὴν φόβου ἀκούσεσθε . Τὴν τῶν εὐαγγελικῶν προσταγμάτων

A voice of fear you shall hear. [This refers to] the voice of the gospel precepts.
1:701⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν εἰρήνη . Οὐ γὰρ ἦλθον , φησὶν ὁ Κύριος , βαλεῖν εἰρήνην ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν , ἀλλὰ μάχαιραν
「並沒有平安。」因為主說:『我來並不是要把和平投在地上,乃是要動刀劍。』
And there is no peace. For, says the Lord, 'I did not come to cast peace upon the earth, but a sword.'

Ἐρωτήσατε . Ἐρωτήσατε , φησὶ , τὰς Γραφὰς , καὶ μάθετε ἐξ αὐτῶν , εἰ γεννηθήσεται ὑμῖν ἄρσεν , τουτέστιν ὁ Κύριος
「你們要問。」他說:『你們要查問聖經,從其中查考,看是否有一個男的要為你們而生』——意即主。
Ask. 'Ask,' he says, 'the Scriptures, and learn from them whether a male will be born to you' — that is, the Lord.

Ἐπειδὴ γὰρ δι' ἑνὸς τοῦ Ἀδὰμ ὁ κόσμος ἐφ' ἁμαρτίαν ἦλθεν , εἰκότως περὶ τοῦ δευτέρου Ἀδὰμ προφητεύει , δι' οὗ ἡ ἀπολύτρωσις
因為既然世界是藉著那一個亞當而陷入罪中,他便理所當然地預言那第二個亞當,救贖正是藉著他而來。
For since through the one Adam the world came into sin, he fittingly prophesies concerning the second Adam, through whom is the redemption.
1:704⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ περὶ φόβου . Φυσικῶς οἱ φοβούμενοι τὴν ὀσφὺν κρατεῖν πεφύκασιν
「並且論到懼怕。」照本性而言,懼怕的人天生就會緊抓自己的腰。
And concerning fear. By nature those who are afraid are disposed to grip their loins.

Φόβος οὖν , φησὶ , ἔσται τῶν εὐαγγελικῶν προσταγμάτων , δι' οὗ φόβου ἕξει τὴν ἰσχὺν , καὶ σωθήσεται
他說,因此這懼怕將是對福音誡命的懼怕,藉著這懼怕,它將得著力量,並且得救。
Fear, therefore, he says, will be fear of the evangelical precepts, through which fear it will have strength, and will be saved.

Διότι ἑώρακα . Πάντες γὰρ ἔφριξαν τὴν ἀκρίβειαν τῶν εὐαγγελικῶν προσταγμάτων , καὶ ὑπὸ τῆς φρίκης τὰ ἐντὸς ταραττόμενοι τὰς ὀσφῦς ἐκράτησαν
「因為我已看見。」因為眾人都因福音誡命的嚴謹而戰慄,內心因這戰慄而不安,便緊抓自己的腰。
Because I have seen. For all shuddered at the strictness of the evangelical precepts, and being inwardly troubled by that shuddering, they gripped their loins.

Πρὸς δὲ διάνοιαν , κρατεῖ ὀσφύος ὁ περισφίγγων τὰ σπερματικὰ , καὶ ἀπεχόμενος συνουσιασμοῦ
至於靈意而言,那緊束精髓之處、並戒絕房事的人,就是緊抓著腰的人。
But according to the [spiritual] sense, he grips his loins who tightly restrains the seminal parts, and abstains from intercourse.
1:708⧉ ⤴︎
Ὅτι μεγάλη ἡ ἡμέρα . Ἡ τοῦ χρόνου τῆς τοῦ Κυρίου ἐνανθρωπήσεως , καὶ τοῦ σταυροῦ , καὶ τῆς ἀναστάσεως·
「因為那日子大。」〔意指〕主道成肉身、上十字架、以及復活之時;
For great is the day. [This means] the time of the Lord's incarnation, and of the cross, and of the resurrection;

ὅλην γὰρ αὐτοῦ τὴν οἰκονομίαν ἡμέραν καλεῖ
因為他把自己整個救贖計畫都稱為『日子』。
for he calls his whole economy 'day.'

Ἀνέστησα σύντριμμα . Ἐπειδὴ , φησὶν , μεγάλη σου ἡ πληγὴ , καὶ οὐδείς σοι ἠδυνήθη ἐπαμῦναι , ἀλλὰ καὶ οἱ φίλοι σου ἐπελάθοντό σου διὰ τὴν ἁμαρτίαν σου·
「我已扶起了破口。」他說,既然你的創傷極大,無人能夠救助你,甚至你的朋友也因你的罪而忘記了你;
I have raised up the ruin. Since, he says, your wound is great, and no one was able to come to your aid, but even your friends forgot you because of your sin;

φίλους δὲ τῆς ψυχῆς νοήσεις τὸν νόμον , καὶ τοὺς προφήτας , καὶ ἁγίους ἀγγέλους
而『靈魂的朋友』,你應理解為律法、眾先知、以及聖天使。
and by 'friends of the soul' you should understand the law, and the prophets, and the holy angels.

Ἐπειδὴ οὖν , φησὶν , οὐδείς σοι ἠδυνήθη ἐπαμῦναι , ἐγὼ διὰ τοῦ ἐμαυτοῦ Υἱοῦ , τοῦ κατὰ σάρκα Δαβὶδ , ἀναστήσω σου τὸ σύντριμμα
他說,既然無人能夠救助你,我必藉著我自己的兒子——就肉身而言即大衛——扶起你的破口。
Since, then, he says, no one was able to come to your aid, I, through my own Son, David according to the flesh, will raise up your ruin.

Ὅτι πληγὴν ἐχθροῦ . Ἐπειδὴ διὰ τὰς ἁμαρτίας σου , φησὶν , ἐγκατέλιπόν σε , διὰ τὴν ἐμαυτοῦ φιλανθρωπίαν ἰῶμαί σε
「因為那是仇敵所加的創傷。」他說,既然我因你的罪而離棄了你,我便憑著自己的仁慈醫治你。
For the wound of an enemy. Since, he says, I forsook you because of your sins, through my own loving-kindness I heal you.

Διὰ τοῦτο πάντες οἱ ἐσθίοντές σε . Οἱ ἐχθροί σου , φησὶ , δαίμονες τὰς ἑαυτῶν κατέδονται σάρκας·
「因此凡吞吃你的人。」他說,你的仇敵——那些鬼魔——將吞吃自己的肉;
Therefore all who devour you. Your enemies, he says, the demons, shall devour their own flesh;

ἐμφαίνει δὲ διὰ τούτων τὸ πικρὸν τῆς κατ' αὐτῶν τιμωρίας
藉此他表明了加諸於他們身上的懲罰之苦。
and by this he indicates the bitterness of the punishment against them.

Ἐπὶ πλῆθος . Συνεπέθεντο , φησὶ , τῷ πλήθει τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν σου
「因罪過眾多。」他說,他們是因你罪過眾多而聯合起來攻擊你的。
For the multitude. They combined against you, he says, on account of the multitude of your sins.

And they shall be. Those who led you about shall be scattered.

「因為我必使〔你的醫治〕上來。」因為神的道成為了人,醫治了人性。
For I will bring up [your healing]. For the Word of God, having become man, healed humanity.

Θήρευμα ὑμῶν ἐστιν . Ὅτι διεσκόρπισάν σε . ἀπὸ Θεοῦ
「你成了他們的獵物。」因為他們使你四散……離開了神。
You have become their prey. Because they scattered you … away from God.

Ὁ βουλόμενος , φησὶν , ἐθήρευσεν αὐτὴν , ὡς μὴ ἔχουσαν ποιμένα
他說,凡願意的人都獵取了她,因為她沒有牧人。
Whoever wished, he says, hunted her, since she had no shepherd.

Οὕτως εἶπε Κύριος . Ἔχει μὲν ὁ λόγος ἀγγελίαν τῆς ἐκ Βαβυλῶνος ἐπανόδου·
「主如此說。」這話固然含有從巴比倫歸回的宣告;
Thus said the Lord. The word indeed contains the announcement of the return from Babylon;

προθεσπίζει δὲ τὴν διὰ Χριστοῦ ἀπολύτρωσιν τῶν ἐθνῶν
但它也預示了藉基督使萬國得贖的事。
but it foretells the redemption of the nations through Christ.

Καὶ οἰκοδομηθήσεται . Πρὸς μὲν τὸ ῥητὸν , ἡ κατεστραμμένη Ἱερουσαλήμ·
「城必被建造。」就字面經文而言,指的是那已遭傾覆的耶路撒冷;
And it shall be built. According to the literal text, [this is] Jerusalem, which had been overthrown;

but according to the [spiritual] sense, the Church.

Καὶ ὁ λαός . Κατὰ τὰ νόμιμα πολιτεύσεται·

And the people. They shall order their life according to the ordinances;

ὁ μὲν ἐκ τῆς αἰσθητῆς αἰχμαλωσίας , κατὰ τὰ Μωσαϊκά·
從有形的被擄之地歸回的百姓,是按摩西的律法而行;
the one, from the sensible captivity, according to the Mosaic [ordinances];

ὁ δὲ τῆς Ἐκκλησίας λαὸς , κατὰ τὰ εὐαγγελικά
而教會的百姓,則是按福音的誡命而行。
but the people of the Church, according to the evangelical [precepts].

Καὶ ἐξελεύσονται ἀπ' αὐτῶν ᾄδοντες . Τοῖς μὲν αἰχμαλώτοις ἐπαγγελίαν χαρᾶς ἔχει ὁ λόγος
「必有歌唱的人從他們中間出來。」對被擄的人而言,這話含有喜樂的應許;
And there shall go forth from them those who sing. For the captives, the word contains a promise of joy;

Ἄδοντας δὲ , τοὺς Θεὸν ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ ὑμνολογοῦντάς φησι·
所謂『歌唱的人』,指的是在教會中頌讚神的人;
By 'those who sing' he means those who hymn God in the church;

παίζοντας δὲ , τοὺς τῶν δαιμόνων καταπαίζοντας

and by 'those who make merry,' those who deride the demons.

Καὶ ὁ ἄρχων . Οὐκ ἔτι , φησὶν , ἀλλότριοι ἄρξουσι τοῦ λαοῦ
「並且那掌權者……」他說,從此不再有外族人管轄這百姓。
And the ruler. No longer, he says, shall strangers rule over the people.

Or also thus: for the rulers of the Jews had failed;

φησὶ ὅτι ὁ πάλαι ἄρχων διάβολος τῶν ψυχῶν ἐξελεύσεται , ἀντὶ τοῦ ἀποστήσεται τοῦ τῆς Ἐκκλησίας λαοῦ
他說,那素來作靈魂統治者的魔鬼將要離去——意即他將從教會的百姓中退去。
he says that the devil, the former ruler of souls, shall go forth—that is, shall depart from the people of the Church.

Εὗρον θερμόν . Ἐπειδὴ οἱ πλείονες ὑπὸ τῆς ἁμαρτίας τεθνήκασι , καὶ ὡς ἐν ἐρήμῳ κεῖνται ἐῤῥιμμένοι·
「我找到了尚有溫熱之氣的人。」既然大多數人已因罪而死,如同棄屍曠野一般躺臥著;
I found warmth. Since the majority have died on account of sin, and lie cast down as though in a desert;

εὗρον , φησὶν , ἐν τοῖς κειμένοις θερμὸν , τουτέστιν ἡμιθανῆ , ἐλπίδα ἔχοντα μετανοίας καὶ ζωῆς·
他說,我在那些躺臥的人中,找到了一個尚有溫熱之氣的人——也就是半死的人,他仍存有悔改與生命的盼望;
I found, he says, among those lying [dead], one still warm—that is, half-dead—having hope of repentance and life;

φησὶ δὲ ἢ τὸν Ἰσραὴλ , ἢ καὶ πάντα δυνάμενον σώζεσθαι
他所指的,或是以色列,或是任何一個能夠得救的人。
and he means either Israel, or indeed anyone able to be saved.

Κύριος πόῤῥωθεν . Ὁ νῦν πόῤῥωθεν , ὕστερον ὀφθήσεται αὐτῷ
「主從遠處……」那如今遠在天邊的主,日後將要向她顯現。
The Lord from afar. He who is now far off will later be seen by her.

αἰσθητὴν Ἱερουσαλὴμ , τὴν Ἐκκλησίαν νόει
所謂有形可見的耶路撒冷,你應理解為教會。
By 'sensible Jerusalem,' understand the Church.

Ὅτι ἔστιν ἡμέρα . Τοῦτο σημεῖον οἰκήσεως
「因為有一日子……」這是安居的徵兆。
For there is a day. This is a sign of dwelling.
1:740⧉ ⤴︎
Ὅτι δέδωκε , φησὶν , ὁ Θεὸς καιρὸν μετανοίας , ἐν ᾧ ἀπολογούμενοι κληθήσεσθε εἰς σωτηρίαν
他說,因為神已賜下悔改的時機,在其中你們可藉自辯而蒙召得救。
Because God has given, he says, a time for repentance, in which, by making your defense, you will be called to salvation.

Ἐν ὄρεσιν Ἐφραίμ . Τὸν κατὰ χάριν φησί
「在以法蓮山上。」他所說的,是那按恩典而言的以法蓮。
On the mountains of Ephraim. He speaks of the one [Ephraim] according to grace.

Διαφόρως δὲ ἡ Γραφὴ καλεῖ τοῦτον τὸν λαόν
而聖經以不同的名稱來稱呼這百姓。
And Scripture calls this people by various [names].

Διὸ καὶ Ἐφραὶμ , ἐκ τῶν πολλῶν φυλῶν·
因此也稱之為以法蓮,取自眾支派之意;
Therefore also [it is called] Ephraim, from the many tribes;

ἐκ πάντων γάρ εἰσιν οἱ σωζόμενοι
因為得救的人是出於眾支派的。
for those who are saved come from all [the tribes].
1:745⧉ ⤴︎
Ἀνάστητε καὶ ἀνάβητε . Διεγέρθητε , φησὶν , ἐκ τῶν γηΐνων φρονημάτων , καὶ ἀνέλθετε εἰς τὰ οὐράνια , τοῖς πτεροῖς τοῦ πνεύματος κουφιζόμενοι
「你們起來,上去吧。」他說,你們當從屬地的意念中覺醒,靠著聖靈的翅膀被高舉,上升到屬天的事物。
Rise up and go up. Be awakened, he says, from earthly thoughts, and ascend to the heavenly things, being lifted up by the wings of the Spirit.

Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἄγω . Γαυριάσατε , φησὶ , πατοῦντες ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς τῶν ἐθνῶν
「看哪,我要領〔他們〕。」他說,你們要歡欣雀躍,因你們正踐踏在列國的頭上。
Behold, I lead [them]. Exult, he says, treading upon the heads of the nations.

Ἰδοὺ γὰρ δέδωκα ὑμῖν ἐξουσίαν τοῦ πατεῖν ἐπάνω ὄφεων καὶ σκορπίων , εἶπεν ὁ Κύριος
「因我已賜給你們權柄,可以踐踏蛇和蠍子」,主如此說。
'For behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions,' said the Lord.

Τοὺς ἐξ ἐθνῶν φησι , καὶ τοὺς ἐξ Ἰσραὴλ τοὺς εἰς πάντα τὰ ἔθνη διεσπαρμένους , ὕστερον δὲ καὶ αὐτοὺς τευξομένους σωτηρίας
他所指的,是那些出於外邦的人,以及那些出於以色列、卻分散在萬國中的人,他們日後也將同樣獲得救恩。
He means those from the nations, and those from Israel who have been scattered among all the nations, and who will later also themselves obtain salvation.

Ἐν ἑορτῇ Φασέκ . Φασὲκ , ἀφέσεως ἑρμηνεύεται
「在逾越節(Φασέκ)的節期中。」『Φασέκ』解作『釋放』之意。
At the feast of Phasek. 'Phasek' is interpreted as meaning 'release.'

Φησὶν οὖν ὅτι ἐν τῇ Χριστοῦ ἀφέσει τῶν ἁμαρτημάτων σωθήσονται
所以他說,他們必在基督赦免罪過之中得救。
He says, therefore, that they shall be saved in Christ's remission of sins.

Ἐν κλαυθμῷ . Ὅτι ἁμαρτία , κλαυθμοῦ αἰτία , ἡ δὲ ἐπιστροφὴ σωτηρίας καὶ παρακλήσεως
「在哭泣中。」因為罪乃哭泣之因,而歸回則是救恩與安慰之因。
With weeping. Because sin is the cause of weeping, but conversion is the cause of salvation and comfort.

Αὐλίζων ἐπὶ διώρυγας . Ἐπὶ τὰ τοῦ βαπτίσματος νάματα κατασκηνῶν αὐτούς
「使…住宿在水溝旁。」使他們安居在洗禮的活水之畔。
Lodging by the water-courses. Causing them to dwell by the streams of baptism.

Ἀκούσατε λόγον . Καὶ γὰρ διὰ Χριστοῦ ἐδιδάχθημεν λέγειν·
「你們當聽這話。」因為我們確實是藉著基督蒙教導,得以說:
Hear the word. For indeed through Christ we were taught to say:

Πάτερ ἡμῶν ὁ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς
「我們在天上的父。」
Our Father who art in the heavens.

Ὡς ὁ βόσκων . Ὁ λέγων Κύριος·
「如同那牧養的。」乃是那說話的主:
As the one who shepherds. The Lord, who says:

Καὶ ἥξουσι . Ἐπὶ τὴν Ἐκκλησίαν , ἔνθα τὸ τίμιον σῶμα καὶ αἷμα Χριστοῦ προσφέρεται
「他們必要來到。」來到教會,就是獻上基督寶貴的身體與寶血之處。
And they shall come. To the Church, where the precious body and blood of Christ are offered.

Καὶ κτηνῶν . Ταῦτα σημεῖα εἰρήνης
「以及牲畜。」這些都是平安的徵兆。
And of cattle. These are signs of peace.

Καὶ πρεσβύται . Αἱ Ἐκκλησίαι ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ τῶν κατὰ Χριστὸν ἀκμαζουσῶν ψυχῶν , καὶ τῶν ἐν φρονήσει πολιῶν
「以及老年人。」教會就是那些在基督裡精壯之靈魂、以及那些在智慧中鬢白之人所組成的會眾。
And elders. The churches, in the assembly of souls flourishing in Christ, and of those grey-haired in prudence.

Μεθύσω . Θείων λόγων πληρώσω τοὺς ἱερεῖς , ὡς δύνασθαι εὐφραίνειν τὸν λόγον [ φορτ
「我必使…沉醉。」我要以神聖的話語充滿祭司,使他們能夠以此道使人喜樂……
I will make drunk. I will fill the priests with divine words, so that they are able to gladden [the people] with the word…

Ὅτι ἔστι μισθός . Ἢ ὅτι ἔμμισθον τὸ ἀποθανεῖν ὑπὲρ Χριστοῦ , ἢ ὅτι ἕξεις τὸν Παῦλον πολὺν φέροντα καρπόν
「因為有賞賜。」或指為基督而死是有報償的,或指你將擁有保羅,結出豐盛的果子。
For there is a reward. Either that dying for Christ carries a reward, or that you will have Paul bearing much fruit.

Καὶ ἐπιστρέψουσι . Ἢ οἱ τελευτήσαντες παῖδες ἀνιστάμενοι , καὶ ἐν Χριστῷ ὅντες , ἢ ὅτι ὁ Παῦλος πολλοὺς ἐξ ἐθνῶν ἐπέστρεψεν
「他們必要歸回。」或指已死的孩童復起、並在基督裡;或指保羅使許多外邦人歸信。
And they shall return. Either the children who have died, rising again and being in Christ, or that Paul turned many from the nations.

Μόνιμον τοῖς σοῖς τέκνοις . Καὶ ἔσται , φησὶ , διαρκὴς ὁ μισθὸς τοῖς σοῖς τέκνοις ἀνῃρημένοις , ἢ καὶ τῷ Παύλῳ
「為你的兒女存留。」他說,這報償對你那些被殺害的兒女而言將是持久的,或者也是為保羅存留的。
Lasting for your children. And it shall be, he says, an enduring reward for your children who have been slain, or also for Paul.

Ἀεὶ δὲ ἡ Ῥαχὴλ εἰς πρόσωπον τῆς Ἐκκλησίας ἐκλαμβάνεται , ἢν καὶ ὀδυρομένην ὁ λόγος παραμυθεῖται ἐπὶ τοῖς διωγμοῖς καὶ ταῖς ἀναιρέσεσι ταῖς διὰ Χριστόν
拉結向來被理解為教會的預表,這話也安慰她因基督之故所受的逼迫與殺害而哀慟。
Rachel is always taken as a figure of the Church, whom the word also comforts in her lamenting over the persecutions and the killings on account of Christ.

Ἀκούων ἤκουσα , Ἐφραὶμ . Ἐφραὶμ , τὸν ἐξἐθνῶν λαόν φησι
「我實在聽見以法蓮……」『以法蓮』指的是出於外邦的百姓。
I have surely heard, Ephraim. By 'Ephraim' he means the people from the nations.

Ἐγὼ ὥσπερ μόσχος οὐκ ἐδιδάχθην . Ὡς μόσχος , φησὶ , ταῖς ἐμαῖς ἁμαρτίαις ἐντρεφόμενος οὐκ ἐδιδάχθην τὰ θεῖα λόγια
「我如同牛犢,未受教導。」他說,我如同一頭在自己的罪中被養育的牛犢,未曾受教於神聖的話語。
I was not taught, like a calf. As a calf, he says, reared in my own sins, I was not taught the divine oracles.

Ἐπίστρεψόν με . Τίνα , γὰρ , φησὶ , καρπὸν ἔχετε , ἐφ' οἷς νῦν ἐπαισχύνεσθε; ἡμέρας οὖν αἰσχύνης τὰς τῆς ἁμαρτίας φησί
「求你使我回轉。」他說,你們現今所引以為恥的事,究竟結出了什麼果子呢?因此他把罪的日子稱為羞恥的日子。
Turn me back. For what fruit, he says, do you have from the things of which you are now ashamed? He calls the days of sin, therefore, days of shame.

Καὶ ὑπέδειξά σοι . Τοῦτο διὰ μέσου κεῖται·
「我已指示你。」這句話是插在其間的;
And I have shown you. This is placed in between [parenthetically];

Be judged in relation to yourself, and test/examine yourself.

Ποίησον τιμωρίαν . Διὰ τῆς ἐν Χριστῷ πίστεως καὶ τῆς μετανοίας τιμώρησαι τὰ φαῦλα , καὶ αὐτοὺς τοὺς αὐτὰ ἐνεργοῦντας δαίμονας
施行懲罰。藉著在基督裡的信與悔改,懲治那些邪惡之事,以及行這些事的鬼魔本身。
Execute punishment. Through faith in Christ and repentance, punish the base deeds, and the very demons who work them.
1:775⧉ ⤴︎
Δὸς καρδίαν . Ἀνάλαβε , φησὶ , τοῦ Κυρίου τὸν σταυρὸν ἐπὶ τῶν ὤμων
要獻上心。他說,要將主的十字架背在肩上。
Give [your] heart. Take up, he says, the cross of the Lord upon your shoulders.

Μὴ κρύπτε τὰ φαῦλα , ἀλλὰ φανέρωσον αὐτὰ δι' ἐξομολογήσεως
不要隱藏邪惡之事,卻要藉著認罪使其顯明。
Do not hide the base things, but make them manifest through confession.

Ἐπίδος αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν κάματον τῆς μετανοίας
要將她交付於悔改的勞苦。
Give her over to the labor of repentance.

Ὁδὸν ᾗ ἐπορεύθης . Ἐπειδὴ πεπόρευσαι ἐπὶ τὰ φαῦλα , ὑπόστρεψον ἐπὶ τὰ ἀγαθά
你所行的道路。既然你已走向邪惡之事,就當轉回善事。
The way in which you went. Since you have gone toward base things, turn back to the good things.

Ἀποστράφηθι . Ὑπόστρεψον εἰς τὴν ἐξ ἀρχῆς ἐπαινουμένην πολιτείαν , καὶ πένθησον ἐπὶ ταῖς προτέραις ἁμαρτίαις τὸ πένθος τὸ μακαριζόμενον
要轉回。當歸回起初受稱許的生活方式,並為先前的罪惡哀慟,以那被稱為有福的哀慟而哀慟。
Turn back. Return to the manner of life praised from the beginning, and mourn over your former sins with that mourning which is called blessed.

你要轉回到幾時呢?他責備她在順服上遲延。
How long will you turn back? He rebukes her as being slow to obey.

Ὅτι ἔκτισέ με Κύριος σωτηρίαν . Ἀκύλας καὶ Σύμμαχος , ὅτι ἔκτισε Κύριος καινὸν ἐν τῇ θηλείᾳ , ἐκδεδώκασιν·
因為主創造我為拯救。阿桂拉(Aquila)與西馬庫(Symmachus)譯作:「因為主在女子身上創造了一件新事。」
For the Lord created me [as] salvation. Aquila and Symmachus rendered it: 'For the Lord created a new thing in the female.'

σαφῶς δὲ διὰ τούτων ὁ καινὸς ἄνθρωπος , ὁ σαρκωθεὶς Λόγος , ὁ ἐκ Παρθένου τεχθεὶς προκατηγγέλθη
顯然藉著這些話,那新人——成了肉身的道、由童貞女所生者——已被預先宣告了。
Clearly through these words the new man — the Word made flesh, born of the Virgin — was proclaimed beforehand.

Ἐν σωτηρίᾳ . Διὰ Χριστοῦ , φησὶν , ἐπανήξουσιν ἄνθρωποι εἰς παράδεισον , ὅθεν ἐξέπεσον

In salvation. Through Christ, he says, men will return to paradise, whence they fell.

Blessed is the Lord upon the just. This hymn, he says, the peoples of the Church will send up together with their teachers;

to him who made death a sleep, and who beholds the multitude of the faithful, and rejoices over the death that came upon him willingly.

Behold, days are coming. Perhaps he speaks of the confusion of the heresies, and of those who choose bestial ways.

'Men' are the wiser and more perfect, who hold the faith with reason and knowledge; 'cattle' are those who have run to the faith with simplicity and without over-curious inquiry.

I therefore, he says, will plant both these and those in the Church.

But each one shall die in his own sin. The sin of Adam, passing through into the human race, came also upon those who had not sinned, as the Apostle said.

Christ, therefore, having remitted this [sin] through the washing of forgiveness, the ancestral sin was cleansed; but each one is accountable for his own personal sins.

Καὶ διαθήσομαι τῷ οἴκῳ Ἰσραήλ . Διαθήκην , τὴν εὐαγγελικήν
我要與以色列家立約。〔即〕福音的約。
And I will make a covenant with the house of Israel. [Namely] the covenant, the evangelical one.

The Apostle also used these [words] as proof that the legal worship had [not] been cast out.

Giving I will give. The reminders given through the Spirit.

If it be lifted up. As it is impossible, he says, for the heaven to ascend higher, or for the earth to descend lower;

同樣,我也不可能棄絕以色列;
so it is impossible for me to reject Israel;

for the gifts of God are irrevocable, as the Apostle says.

He signified, therefore, that the Church is built up from the grace of God and the holy apostles.

Thus he said. I caused the deeds of purchase, he says, to be written;

and perhaps at that time also those making the purchase signed their names in the deeds of purchase.

Ἵνα καὶ οἱ μετὰ ταῦτα μάθωσιν ὥστε μὴ διαφθαρῆναι

So that those who come after may also learn [from it], that it might not be destroyed.

因此〔將它放〕在瓦器之中,好叫他們歸回時得以看見,這些事乃是早已預先宣告的,使得不僅是言語,連事實本身也能作見證。
Therefore [it was put] in an earthen vessel, so that when they returned they might see that these things had been foretold long before, so that not the words alone, but also the deeds/facts might bear witness.

Ποιῶν ἔλεος . Ὅτι πολλαπλάσιόν ἐστι τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ
施行憐憫。因為他的憐憫是加倍豐盛的。
Showing mercy. Because his mercy is manifold.

Καὶ ἀποδιδούς . Ἀπὸ Ἀδὰμ ἕως τῆς παρουσίας Χριστοῦ οἱ μιμούμενοι τὰς ἁμαρτίας τῶν πατέρων , ταῖς τιμωρίαις ὑπέπιπτον , διὰ τὸ μήπω τὴν ἀπολύτρωσιν τῆς ἁμαρτίας γεγενῆσθαι
並施報應。從亞當直到基督降臨,那些效法先祖之罪的人都落入懲罰之中,因為那時罪的救贖尚未成就。
And repaying. From Adam until the coming of Christ, those who imitated the sins of their fathers fell under punishments, because the redemption from sin had not yet come to be.

Μετὰ δὲ τὴν παρουσίαν τοῦ Χριστοῦ , ἕκαστος λοιπὸν ὃ σπείρῃ , καὶ θερίσει , διὰ τὸ μὴ ὁμοίως ἐκτείνεσθαι ἐκ πατροπαραδότου ἀναστροφῆς ἐπὶ [ ἐπὶ υιδετυρ αβυνδαρε ] τὴν παράβασιν

But after the coming of Christ, each one henceforth will reap what he sows, because [transgression] no longer extends in the same way from ancestrally-transmitted conduct unto transgression [ἐπὶ υιδετυρ αβυνδαρε — text corrupt].

Καὶ ἐν τοῖς γηγενέσι . Τοῖς ἀσεβέσι , τοῖς τὰ γήϊνα φρονοῦσιν·
以及在地上所生的人中間。指不敬虔者,即那些思念地上之事的人;
And among the earth-born. The impious, those who mind earthly things;

And you did/performed [wonders]. Until today, he says, [you are] renowned, whether for the ancient portents,

Ἐγὼ Κύριος . Ὁ μέλλων πάντας κρίνειν , καὶ ἑκάστῳ ἀποδιδόναι κατὰ τὰς πράξεις
我是耶和華。指那位將要審判萬有、按各人所行的報應各人的主。
I [am] the Lord. He who is about to judge all, and to repay each according to his deeds.

Ὅτι ἦσαν . Ὡς μὲν ἐπὶ τὸ πολὺ πᾶσα μὲν ἡ γῆ τότε ἀθέων ἦν·
因為他們是。大體而言,當時全地充滿了不敬神之人;
Because they were. For the most part, the whole earth at that time was full of godless [people];

μόνοι δὲ οὖτοι λέγονται ἁμαρτάνειν , ἐπειδὴ τοῖς θείοις νόμοις πεπαιδευμένοι ἐν γνώσει ἡμάρτανον

but these alone are said to sin, since, having been instructed in the divine laws, they sinned with knowledge.

...me... As though this city, he says, had been built for this very purpose — to provoke me to anger — so that on this account I might make it vanish, not wishing to see it.

Καὶ ἔστρεψαν πρός με νῶτον . Τοῦτο δεῖγμα τελείας ὕβρεως καὶ καταφρονήσεως
他們以背向我。這是全然傲慢與藐視的表徵。
And they turned their back to me. This is a sign of utter insolence and contempt.

Καὶ ἐδίδαξα αὐτούς . Ἀντὶ τοῦ , κατὰ πᾶσαν σπουδήν

And I taught them. Instead of [meaning]: 'with all diligence.'

Ἃ οὐ συνέταξα αὐτοῖς . Ἔστω , φησίν

Things which I did not command them. 'Let it be [granted],' he says —

Ἐμοὶτὰς θυσίας προσφέρειν ὀφείλοντες , δαίμοσι προσφέρουσι·

though they ought to offer sacrifices to me, they offer them to demons;

διατί καὶ ἀνθρωποκτονίας ἐργάζονται; ἀνθρώπους δὲ οὐδὲ ἐμαυτῷ θύεσθαι ὅσιον ἔκρινα
他們為何還行殺人之事呢?但我從未認為以人為祭獻給我自己是聖潔的。
why do they also commit murders? But I have not judged it holy for men to be sacrificed even to myself.

Ὡς οὐκ ἀρκούμενοι τοίνυν , φησὶ , τοῖς πρότερον ἁμαρτήμασι , καὶ τοῦτο ἐπεξεῦρον τὸ ἀτόπημα

As though not content, therefore, he says, with their former sins, they have also invented in addition this monstrous deed.

Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ συνάγω αὐτούς , Ἐπαγγέλλεται Θεὸς ἐπανάγειν ἐκ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραήλ·
看哪,我要招聚他們。神應許要將以色列的兒女從被擄之地領回;
Behold, I gather them. God promises to bring back the sons of Israel from the captivity;

ὁμοῦ δὲ καὶ προλέγει τὴν Χριστοῦ παρουσίαν , καὶ τὴν τοῦ Πνεύματος χάριν
同時他也預言了基督的降臨,以及聖靈的恩典。
At the same time he also foretells the coming of Christ, and the grace of the Spirit.

'And they shall be to me a people.' This is common concerning all the faithful.

'Thus said the Lord, who makes the earth.' According to the creation from the beginning, making man from earth.

'To set her upright.' Through the precious cross, since she lay cast down by sin.

'And I will announce to you.' The things that have come to pass through the coming of Christ.

Τῶν καθῃρημένων . Δέον ἀκολουθῆσαι τοὺς Ἰουδαίους τῷ Βαβυλωνίῳ , ἐπειδὴ τοῦτο κρῖμα ἦν τοῦ Θεοῦ , καθελόντες τὰς οἰκίας αὐτῶν , χάρακας ἐποίησαν καὶ προμαχῶνας ἐπὶ τῷ μάχεσθαι τοῖς Χαλδαίοις
「那些被拆毀的[房屋]。」猶太人本應順服巴比倫王,因為這是神的審判;他們卻拆毀自己的房屋,築起壕柵和城垛,為要與迦勒底人交戰。
'Of the houses that were torn down.' Though the Jews ought to have submitted to the Babylonian, since this was God's judgment, they tore down their own houses and made ramparts and battlements in order to fight against the Chaldeans.

Διὰ τοῦτο θανάτῳ καταδικάζονται
因此他們被判處死刑。
For this reason they are condemned to death.

Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀνάγω . Μετὰ τὴν ἱστορίαν , διὰ τῆς Χριστοῦ παρουσίας
「看哪,我要領[他們]上來。」在歷史意義之後,指藉著基督的降臨。
'Behold, I bring [them] up.' After the historical [sense], through the coming of Christ.

Καὶ ποιήσω εἰρήνην . Διὰ τὴν εἰς ἐμὲ πίστιν δωροῦμαι αὐτοῖς τὴν εἰρήνην
「我要締造和平。」因著對我的信,我將和平賜給他們。
'And I will make peace.' On account of faith in me I grant them peace.

Καὶ εἰς μεγαλειότητα . Οὐδέποτε γὰρ τοιαύτη μεγαλειότης γέγονεν , ὡς ἡ διὰ τῆς τοῦ Θεοῦ Λόγου ἐνσάρκου παρουσίας
「以致有尊榮。」因為從未有過如此的尊榮,如同藉著神的道成肉身之降臨而來的尊榮。
'And into greatness.' For never has there been such greatness as that which came through the incarnate coming of the Word of God.

Καὶ φοβηθήσονται . Ἢ οἱ δαίμονες ἐπὶ τοῖς γενομένοις ἀγαθοῖς τοῖς ἀνθρώποις , ἢ καὶ αὐτοὶ οἱ εὖ πάσχοντες , ἐφ' οἷς τοιοῦτον πρότερον ἠγνόησαν Δεσπότην
「他們必懼怕。」或指眾魔鬼,因人所得的美善而懼怕;或指那些蒙恩者自己,因他們先前不認識這樣一位主。
'And they shall fear.' Either the demons, on account of the good things that have come to men, or also those very ones who receive the benefit, because they previously did not know such a Master.

Φωνὴ νυμφίου . Τοῦ τῆς ψυχῆς νυμφίου Λόγου λέγοντος·
「新郎的聲音。」指靈魂的新郎——道——所說的:

'Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.'

'For I will bring them back.' As were Abel, and Seth, and Enoch, and Noah, and Abraham, being justified by faith and not by law.

Ἔτι παρελεύσεται πρόβατα . Τοῦ ἐπισκεπτομένου , καὶ μὴ ἀμελοῦντος , ἀλλὰ ἀριθμοῦντος καὶ ἐπιζητοῦντος , μή τι τῶν λογικῶν προβάτων ἀπώλετο
「羊群還要經過。」指那位眷顧、不疏忽,反而數點並查問是否有理性的羊群失喪的[主]。
'Yet the sheep shall pass by again.' Of [God] visiting, and not neglecting, but numbering and inquiring whether any of the rational sheep has perished.

Βάδισον πρὸς Σεδεκίαν . Ἐμοῦ παραδιδόντος , φησὶν ὁ Θεὸς , καὶ οὐ τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ Βαβυλωνίου παραδοθήσεται ἡ πόλις
「你去見西底家。」神說:「是我要把[這城]交出去,這城被交付,並非因巴比倫王的勢力。」
'Go to Zedekiah.' 'It is I who deliver [the city] up,' says God, 'and the city shall be delivered up not by the power of the Babylonian.'

Καὶ ἕως ᾅδου κόψονταί σε . Καταπαίζει τοῦ Σεδεκίου , ἵνα ἐκεῖνος ὑπονοήσῃ τὴν ἐκ τῶν πολεμίων ἄφεσιν
「他們必為你哀哭,直到陰間。」這是在戲弄西底家,使他猜想能從敵人手中得釋放。
'And they shall lament you as far as Hades.' He mocks Zedekiah, so that he might suspect release from the enemies.

Ἔλεγε δὲ ὁ χρησμὸς , ὅτι οὐχ ὡς ἀνὴρ ἐν παρατάξει , ἀλλ' αἰχμάλωτος ληφθεὶς ἐν εἰρηνευούσῃ πόλει τῇ Βαβυλῶνι τὸν κοινὸν ὑποίσει θάνατον
而這神諭所說的,是他並非如戰陣中的戰士[陣亡],而是被擄為囚,在太平無事的巴比倫城中承受眾人皆有的死亡。
But the oracle was saying that not as a man in battle array, but having been taken captive, he would undergo the common death in Babylon, a city at peace.

Τὸ δὲ , ἕως ᾅδου κόψονταί σε , ἀντὶ τοῦ , πικρὸν οἷα βασιλέα ἐν αἰχμαλωσίᾳ ἀποθανόντα
而「他們必為你哀哭,直到陰間」一語,意指:如同哀悼一位死於被擄之中的君王那般痛苦。
And 'they shall lament you as far as Hades' means, instead, bitterly, as [one laments] a king who died in captivity.

Ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος . Μετὰ τὸ συγγράψασθαι τὴν περὶ τῆς ἀφέσεως διαθήκην

'The word that came.' After the covenant concerning release had been drawn up in writing.

Καὶ ὑπεστρέψατε . Οἱ ἀπολύσαντες αὐτοὺς ἐλευθέρους , πάλιν εἵλκυσαν αὐτοὺς εἰς δουλείαν
「你們卻轉回。」那些曾釋放他們得自由的人,又把他們拉回奴役之中。
'And you turned back.' Those who had released them as free again dragged them back into slavery.

Οὓς ἐξαπεστείλατε . Τῇ προαιρέσει , τῷ θελήματι
「你們所釋放的[人]。」是出於選擇、出於意願。
'Whom you sent away.' By choice, by will.

Τοῦτο γὰρ τῆς ἐλευθερίας ἴδιον
因為這正是自由所特有的。
For this is proper to freedom.

Τὸν μόσχον ὃν ἐποίησαν ἐργάζεσθαι αὐτῷ . Ἀντὶ τοῦ , διὰ τὸν μόσχον·

'The calf which they made, to worship it.' Instead of [meaning]: on account of the calf:

that is, on account of the idolatry I will hand them over

Μόσχον καλεῖ τὸν Αἰγύπτιον , διὰ τὸν τῶν Αἰγυπτίων θεὸν τὸν Ἄπιν

He calls the Egyptian 'calf,' on account of the Egyptians' god Apis.

Καὶ αὐτοὺς οὖν , φησὶ , καὶ Αἰγύπτιον ὃν εἰς συμμαχίαν ἐκάλεσαν , παραδώσω τοῖς Βαβυλωνίοις
「祂說:『我要把他們,連同他們召來結盟的埃及人,一併交在巴比倫人手中。』」
'Them, then,' he says, 'and also the Egyptian whom they called to alliance, I will hand over to the Babylonians.'

βασιλέως . Ἴσως ἀναζεύξαντας αὐτοὺς , καὶ ἀρξαμένους ἀποτρέχειν , ἀπειλεῖ Θεὸς ἐπιστρέφειν

'...of the king.' Perhaps, [as] they were breaking camp and beginning to flee, God threatens to make them turn back.

「內庫房(παστοφόριον)。」「παστοφόριον」意即「庫房」。
'Storeroom.' 'Storeroom' [pastophorion], that is, treasury-chamber.

Ἡμεῖς καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες ἡμῶν . Σημείωσαι ὑπακοὴν τέκνων καὶ γυναικῶν ἐπὶ παραφυλακῇ τοσαύτης ἀκριβείας
「我們和我們的妻子。」當留意子女和妻子們在恪守如此嚴謹規條上的順服。
'We and our wives.' Note the obedience of children and wives in the keeping of such great precision.

Οὐ μὴ λάβητε παιδείαν . Οὐκ ἐντρέπεσθε λοιπὸν , καὶ μεταπορεύεσθε εἰς τὸ ἀκούειν τῶν λόγων μου; ΚΕΦΑΛ
「你們絕不肯領受管教。」你們難道不因此羞愧,轉而聽我的話嗎?【新章】
'You shall in no way receive correction.' Will you not, then, feel shame, and turn to hear my words? [New chapter]

Λάβε σεαυτῷ χαρτίον βιβλίου . Χάρτην βιβλίου , ἢ βιβλίον χάρτινον , ἢ καὶ ἐν τόμοις ἔγραφον τὸ παλαιὸν , καὶ τοῖς τόμοις ἀντὶ τῶν βιβλίων ἐχρῶντο
「你要為自己取一卷書的紙頁。」意即書卷的紙頁,或紙製的書卷;又或古時人是寫在卷軸上,以卷軸代替書冊使用。
'Take for yourself a paper of a book.' A paper-sheet of a book, or a papyrus book; or, in ancient times they used to write on scrolls, and they used scrolls instead of books.

Πάντα τὰ κακά . Τὰ ἐπίπονα , τὰ κακωτικά·
「一切的災禍。」指那些痛苦的、帶來禍害的事:
'All the evils.' The painful things, the afflicting things:

'There shall not be for him one sitting on the throne.' Above he had already threatened Jehoiakim with this:

Καὶ προσετέθησαν αὐτῷ λόγοι πλείονες . Ἐπειδὴ ἐνόμισεν ὁ Ἰωακεὶμ ἐξαφανίζειν τὴν προφητείαν διὰ τοῦ ἐμπρησμοῦ τοῦ βιβλίου , κελεύει Θεὸς καὶ τὰ πρῶτα γραφῆναι , καὶ ἕτερα προστίθησι
「又有更多的話加添在其上。」因約雅敬以為藉著焚燒書卷便能消滅這預言,神便吩咐將先前的話重新寫下,並又加添別的話。
'And many more words were added to it.' Since Jehoiakim thought to obliterate the prophecy by the burning of the book, God commands that the former [words] be written again, and adds others.

Καὶ ἐὰν πατάξητε . Οὐχ ὅτι τοῦτο γέγονεν , ἀλλ' ἐκ δειγμάτων αὐτοῖς τὴν παντελῆ ἀνελπιστίαν τοῦ δυνηθῆναι διαφυγεῖν προλέγει
「即使你們擊殺。」並非說此事真已發生,而是藉著例證向他們預言:他們斷無可能逃脫的絕望境地。
'And even if you should strike down.' Not that this happened, but from examples he foretells to them the utter hopelessness of being able to escape.

Τοῦ ἀγοράσαι ἐκεῖ . Ἢ ἀγοράσαι τόπον εἰς οἴκησιν , ἢ ἀγοράσαι ἀντὶ τοῦ , ἀγοράσαι , καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς ἀγορᾶς προφητεῦσαι·
「在那裡買。」或指買一處居所;或「買」在此另有所指,即:買,並在市集中作先知宣講:
'To buy there.' Either to buy a place to dwell in, or 'to buy' means, instead: to buy, and to prophesy in the marketplace:

ἢ κἀκεῖ παρακινδυνεῦσαι , καὶ τοῖς οἰκείοις κινδύνοις ὠνήσασθαι τὴν σωτηρίαν τῶν σωζομένων
或指他甚至在那裡甘冒危難,以自己所受的危險換取那些得救之人的救恩
or even there to risk danger, and by his own dangers to purchase the salvation of those being saved

Πεσέτω τὸ ἔλεος . Ὅτι Γενοῦ ἐλεήμων εἰς ἐμέ
「願憐憫臨到。」意即:「求你憐憫我。」
'Let mercy fall.' That is: 'Be merciful toward me.'

Καὶ συνέταξεν . Τοῦτο λέγει , ὅτι ῥυπαρὸν ἄρτον ἔξωθεν τοῦ πεττομένου τοῖς ἐλευθέροις , ἵνα εἴπῃ τὸν τοῖς οἰκέταις παρεχόμενον , ἢ καὶ τοῖς κυσίν·
「他吩咐。」此語意指粗劣的麵包,有別於為自由人所烤的,也就是供給僕役、甚至狗隻所吃的那種:
'And he ordered.' He says this, [meaning] coarse bread, apart from that baked for the free, that is to say, the [bread] provided to household servants, or even to dogs:

ἢ ἐπειδὴ σιτοδεία ἦν ὡς ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ , καὶ ἕκαστος φανερόν τι ἐλάμβανεν , λάθρα ἔπεμπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ προφήτῃ , ἵνα μή τις αὐτῷ συντύχῃ·
或因當時如戰時一般有饑荒,人人都是公開領取糧食,王卻暗中差人送給先知,免得有人與他相遇:
or since there was a famine, as in war, and each person openly received something, the king secretly sent [it] to the prophet, so that no one might meet with him:

ἐφοβοῦντο γὰρ τὴν αὐτοῦ διδασκαλίαν
因為他們懼怕他的教導
for they feared his teaching
1:899⧉ ⤴︎
Ὅτι οὐκ ἠδύνατο ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς αὐτού . Ἀντὶ τοῦ , κερδᾶναι τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ
「因為王不能勝過他。」意即:不能贏得他的心。
'For the king was not able against him.' Instead of [meaning]: to win over his soul.

Δῆλος οὖν ἐστι θέλων μὴ ἀναιρεθῆναι τὸν προφήτην , ὡς οὐδὲ Πιλάτος τὸν προφητῶν Κύριον Ἰησοῦν
由此可見,[王]顯然不願先知被處死,正如彼拉多也不願眾先知之主耶穌被害一般。
It is clear, then, that [the king] wished the prophet not to be put to death, just as neither did Pilate wish it concerning Jesus, the Lord of the prophets.
