Know your Creator, and do not forget Him who established you and saved you, the Holy One of Israel; for while you were earth, He made you in His likeness and His image, and set you in the garden, that you might rejoice and till the ground.
And when you transgressed His commandment, He cast you out from there into this land, a dry land of thorns and thistles, which He cursed because of you.
For you are earth, and she is earth; you are ashes, and she is ashes; you are dust, and she is dust; and you are fed from her, and to her you shall return, and you shall become dust, until the day He wills to raise you up and examine all the transgression and sin you have committed.
At that time know what you will answer, and remember here the evil and the good you have done; weigh and consider whether the evil abounds or the good abounds.
But if you have done much evil, woe to you! For you shall be requited according to the work of your hands, and according to the evil of your reasoning, and according to how you have wronged your brother, and according to how you did not fear God; you shall be requited according to your works.
And to those who stand with you, you maintain your word as though it were truth, while you assure them and multiply talk where your word is not truly trustworthy; and you shall be requited according to your works, and according as you say, I will give you, to one to whom you give nothing, and betray your neighbor.
And when you say in your pure heart, I will give, demons lie in wait for you like dogs and make you forget everything, whether you have taken or have wished to give; they make the riches of the world desirable to you, that you may hoard for one who will not profit you and for what you will not eat; for it is said: They hoard, and do not know for whom they gather.
O man, do not give yourself to iniquity by falsifying the balance, by falsifying the measure, by cheating with another's goods, by adding to your wealth through iniquity, by encroaching on your fellow's property, and by all the gain you make for yourself and not for your fellow.
5:13
ወዘንተሂ፡ ለእመ፡ ገብርክሙ፡ ትትፈደዩ፡ በከመ፡ ምግባሪክሙ።
你若行這些事,就必照你的行為受報應。
And if you do this, you shall be requited according to your works.
O man, do not trust in robbery; rather, be fed by what is upright, by the work of your hands, and do not desire another's toil, that you should eat by robbery and plunder without justice and uprightness.
And if your wealth abounds, do not let your heart be lifted up; a little gained in righteousness is better than the great wealth of sinners; for the wealth of sinners is like smoke that goes up from the mouth of a furnace, which the wind carries away.
