ℹ️ This corpus has no morphological tagging. Glosses are matched by word form against a dictionary — a match does not prove it is the same word (an inflected form can coincide with another word’s lemma). Verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

But I judge that we have not ineptly set forth the teaching of the apostle John, who says: 'For there are three that bear witness, the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three are one.' And unless I am mistaken, we have also explained that which our Lord said: 'John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' Besides, I think we have rendered no weak account of the reason for the custom. Yet let us defend it—even though we do so in the last place—lest anyone should suppose that we are raising the present dispute upon a single point. And yet this custom alone ought, among men who fear God and are humble, to hold the chief place.
