Petrus Apostolus Jesu Christi, electis advenis dispersionis Ponti, Galatiae, Cappadociae, Asiae, et Bithyniae,
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen ones who are living as foreigners in the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
耶穌基督的使徒彼得寫信給那分散在本都、加拉太、加帕多家、亞細亞、庇推尼寄居的，
1:2
secundum praescientiam Dei Patris, in sanctificationem Spiritus, in obedientiam, et aspersionem sanguinis Jesu Christi. Gratia vobis, et pax multiplicetur.
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
就是照父上帝的先見被揀選，藉着聖靈得成聖潔，以致順服耶穌基督，又蒙他血所灑的人。願恩惠、平安多多地加給你們。

Benedictus Deus et Pater Domini nostri Jesu Christi, qui secundum misericordiam suam magnam regeneravit nos in spem vivam, per resurrectionem Jesu Christi ex mortuis,
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
願頌讚歸與我們主耶穌基督的父上帝！他曾照自己的大憐憫，藉耶穌基督從死裏復活，重生了我們，叫我們有活潑的盼望，
1:4
in haereditatem incorruptibilem, et incontaminatam, et immarcescibilem, conservatam in caelis in vobis,
to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,
可以得着不能朽壞、不能玷污、不能衰殘、為你們存留在天上的基業。

qui in virtute Dei custodimini per fidem in salutem, paratam revelari in tempore novissimo.
who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
你們這因信蒙上帝能力保守的人，必能得着所預備、到末世要顯現的救恩。
1:6
In quo exsultabis, modicum nunc si oportet contristari in variis tentationibus :
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials,
因此，你們是大有喜樂；但如今，在百般的試煉中暫時憂愁，
1:7
ut probatio vestrae fidei multo pretiosior auro (quod per ignem probatur) inveniatur in laudem, et gloriam, et honorem in revelatione Jesu Christi :
that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—
叫你們的信心既被試驗，就比那被火試驗仍然能壞的金子更顯寶貴，可以在耶穌基督顯現的時候得着稱讚、榮耀、尊貴。
1:8
quem cum non videritis, diligitis : in quem nunc quoque non videntes creditis : credentes autem exsultabitis laetitia inenarrabili, et glorificata :
whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,
你們雖然沒有見過他，卻是愛他；如今雖不得看見，卻因信他就有說不出來、滿有榮光的大喜樂；
1:9
reportantes finem fidei vestrae, salutem animarum.
receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
並且得着你們信心的果效，就是靈魂的救恩。
1:10
De qua salute exquisierunt, atque scrutati sunt prophetae, qui de futura in vobis gratia prophetaverunt :
Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought and searched diligently. They prophesied of the grace that would come to you,
論到這救恩，那預先說你們要得恩典的眾先知早已詳細地尋求考察，

scrutantes in quod vel quale tempus significaret in eis Spiritus Christi : praenuntians eas quae in Christo sunt passiones, et posteriores glorias :
searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them pointed to when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow them.
就是考察在他們心裏基督的靈，預先證明基督受苦難，後來得榮耀，是指着甚麼時候，並怎樣的時候。
1:12
quibus revelatum est quia non sibimetipsis, vobis autem ministrabant ea quae nunc nuntiata sunt vobis per eos qui evangelizaverunt vobis, Spiritu Sancto misso de caelo, in quem desiderant angeli prospicere.
To them it was revealed that they served not themselves, but you, in these things, which now have been announced to you through those who preached the Good News to you by the Holy Spirit sent out from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.
他們得了啟示，知道他們所傳講 的一切事，不是為自己，乃是為你們。那靠着從天上差來的聖靈傳福音給你們的人，現在將這些事報給你們；天使也願意詳細察看這些事。
1:13
Propter quod succincti lumbos mentis vestrae, sobrii, perfecte sperate in eam, quae offertur vobis, gratiam, in revelationem Jesu Christi :
Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ—
所以要約束你們的心 ，謹慎自守，專心盼望耶穌基督顯現的時候所帶來給你們的恩。
1:14
quasi filii obedientiae, non configurati prioribus ignorantiae vestrae desideriis :
as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance,
你們既作順命的兒女，就不要效法從前蒙昧無知的時候那放縱私慾的樣子。
1:15
sed secundum eum qui vocavit vos, Sanctum : et ipsi in omni conversatione sancti sitis :
but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior,
那召你們的既是聖潔，你們在一切所行的事上也要聖潔。
1:16
quoniam scriptum est : Sancti eritis, quoniam ego sanctus sum.
because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
因為經上記着說：「你們要聖潔，因為我是聖潔的。」
1:17
Et si patrem invocatis eum, qui sine acceptione personarum judicat secundum uniuscujusque opus, in timore incolatus vestri tempore conversamini.
If you call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each man’s work, pass the time of your living as foreigners here in reverent fear,
你們既稱那不偏待人、按各人行為審判人的主為父，就當存敬畏的心度你們在世寄居的日子，

Scientes quod non corruptibilibus, auro vel argento, redempti estis de vana vestra conversatione paternae traditionis :
knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things like silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers,
知道你們得贖，脫去你們祖宗所傳流虛妄的行為，不是憑着能壞的金銀等物，

sed pretioso sanguine quasi agni immaculati Christi, et incontaminati :
but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, the blood of Christ,
乃是憑着基督的寶血，如同無瑕疵、無玷污的羔羊之血。
1:20
praecogniti quidem ante mundi constitutionem, manifestati autem novissimis temporibus propter vos,
who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in this last age for your sake,
基督在創世以前是預先被上帝知道的，卻在這末世才為你們顯現。
1:21
qui per ipsum fideles estis in Deo, qui suscitavit eum a mortuis, et dedit ei gloriam, ut fides vestra et spes esset in Deo :
who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.
你們也因着他，信那叫他從死裏復活、又給他榮耀的上帝，叫你們的信心和盼望都在於上帝。
1:22
animas vestras castificantes in obedientia caritatis, in fraternitatis amore, simplici ex corde invicem diligite attentius :
Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently,
你們既因順從真理，潔淨了自己的心，以致愛弟兄沒有虛假，就當從心裏 彼此切實相愛。
1:23
renati non ex semine corruptibili, sed incorruptibili per verbum Dei vivi, et permanentis in aeternum :
having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.
你們蒙了重生，不是由於能壞的種子，乃是由於不能壞的種子，是藉着上帝活潑常存的道。
1:24
quia omnis caro ut foenum : et omnis gloria ejus tamquam flos foeni : exaruit foenum, et flos ejus decidit.
For, “All flesh is like grass, and all of man’s glory like the flower in the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls;
因為 凡有血氣的，盡都如草； 他的美榮都像草上的花。 草必枯乾，花必凋謝；
1:25
Verbum autem Domini manet in aeternum : hoc est autem verbum, quod evangelizatum est in vos.
but the Lord’s word endures forever.” This is the word of Good News which was preached to you.
惟有主的道是永存的。 所傳給你們的福音就是這道。
