Ἐγὼ μὲν ᾤμην τὴν Ἱερεμίου τοῦ θείου προφη τείαν ἑρμηνείας μὴ δεῖσθαι
For my part, I supposed that the prophecy of the divine Jeremiah stood in no need of interpretation.
就我而言,我原以為神聖耶利米的預言並不需要解釋。

Ἐπειδὴ δὲ πολλοί με τῶν σπουδαίων ἐπήγγειλαν καὶ ταύτην ἑρμηνεῦσαι τὴν βίβλον , φήσαντες ἀγνοεῖν τοὺς πλείστους τὴν τῆς προφητείας διάνοιαν·
But since many of the zealous have charged me to interpret this book also, saying that the greater part of readers are ignorant of the prophecy's meaning,
但既然許多熱心之人囑咐我也要解釋這卷書,說大多數人並不明白這預言的旨意,

τὴν θείαν χάριν γενέσθαι συνεργὸν ἱκετεύσας , πειράσομαι πληρῶσαι τὸ κελευ σθέν
having implored the divine grace to be my fellow-worker, I shall attempt to fulfil what has been enjoined.
我便懇求神聖的恩典與我同工,努力完成所受的託付。

Συντομίας δὲ ὡς ἔνι μάλιστα φροντιῶ·
I shall take care to be as concise as possible;
我必竭力力求簡明;

καὶ τῶν μὲν σαφεστέρων παράφρασιν ἐν κεφαλαίῳ ποιήσο μαι·
and of the clearer passages I shall make a paraphrase in summary,
對於較為明白的段落,我要作扼要的釋義,

τὰ δέ γε ἐπεξεργασίας δεόμενα ἀναπτύξαι σπου δάσω
while those requiring fuller treatment I shall be diligent to expound.

Πρῶτον μέντοι τῆς προφητείας τὴν ὑπόθεσιν φράσω
First of all, however, I shall state the subject-matter of the prophecy.
然而首先,我要陳明這預言的主題。

Ἰωσίας ὁ βασιλεὺς πατέρα μὲν ἔσχε δυσσεβῆ τὸν Ἀμὼς , καὶ προπάτορα τὸν Μανασσῆ , τῆς τοῦ πα τρὸς δυσσεβείας γεγενημένον διδάσκαλον αὐτὸς δὲ τὴν ἐναντίαν ἐκείνοις ὁδεύσας , τῆς τῶν εὐσεβῶν μερίδος ἐγένετο·
King Josiah had for his father the impious Amos, and for his grandfather Manasseh, who had become the teacher of his father's impiety; but he himself, walking the opposite path to theirs, became a member of the company of the godly.
約西亞王的父親是不敬虔的亞們,祖父是瑪拿西,正是那將不敬虔傳給他父親的師傅;然而他自己卻走上與他們相反的道路,歸入敬虔者的行列。

ἔσχε δὲ παῖδας , τὴν μὲν τοῦ πα τρὸς οὐ ζηλώσαντας ἀρετὴν , τὴν δὲ τῶν προγόνων μιμησαμένους ἀσέβειαν
He had sons who did not emulate their father's virtue, but imitated the impiety of their forefathers.
他有幾個兒子,卻不效法父親的美德,反倒效法祖先的不敬虔。

Ταῦτα τοίνυν προειδὼς ὁ τῶν ὅλων Θεὸς , ἐν τῷ τρισκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει τῆς Ἰω σίου βασιλείας προχειρίζεται τὸν προφήτην , καὶ προαγορεῦσαι κελεύει τὰς ἐσομένας τῇ τε πόλει καὶ τῷ λαῷ συμφοράς
Foreseeing these things, therefore, the God of all in the thirteenth year of Josiah's reign appointed the prophet, and commanded him to foretell the calamities that were to come upon the city and the people.
因此,萬有的神既預見這些事,就在約西亞在位第十三年設立這位先知,吩咐他預告那將臨到這城與這民的災禍。

Ταῦτα δὲ προθεσπίζων διετέλε σεν , οὐ μόνον τὸν ὑπόλοιπον τοῦ Ἰωσίου χρόνον , ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐπὶ Ἰωάχαζ , ὃς υἱὸς ὢν τοῦ Ἰωσίου τὴν βασιλείαν διεδέξατο , καὶ ἐπὶ Ἰωακεὶμ , ὃς τούτου μὲν ἦν ἀδελφὸς , τοῦ δὲ Ἰωσίου υἱός·
He continued to prophesy these things not only for the remaining time of Josiah, but also under Jehoahaz, who being Josiah's son succeeded to the kingdom, and under Jehoiakim, who was this man's brother and Josiah's son;
他持續預言這些事,不僅在約西亞其餘的年日,也在約哈斯的日子——他是約西亞的兒子,繼承了王位——並在約雅敬的日子,此人乃是約哈斯的兄弟、約西亞的兒子;

καὶ μέντοι καὶ ἐπὶ Ἰεχονίου , ὃς τοῦ μὲν Ἰωακεὶμ υἱὸς ὑπῆρχεν , ἔγγονος δὲ τοῦ Ἰωσίου·
and indeed also under Jeconiah, who was Jehoiakim's son and Josiah's grandson;
確實也在耶哥尼雅的日子,此人是約雅敬的兒子、約西亞的孫子;

ὡσαύτως δὲ καὶ ἐπὶ Σεδε . κίου , ὃς καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσχε τὸν Ἰωσίαν πατέρα·
and likewise under Zedekiah, who also himself had Josiah for his father;
同樣也在西底家的日子,此人自己也是以約西亞為父的;

ὡς εἶναι πάντα τῆς προφητείας τὸν χρόνον δύο καὶ τεσ σαράκοντα ἐτῶν , ὀλίγων μηνῶν δέοντα
so that the whole time of the prophecy was two and forty years, lacking a few months.
如此,這預言的全部時期共計四十二年,只差幾個月。

Προαγορεύει δὲ καὶ τὴν ὑπὸ Βαβυλωνίων γεγενημένην πολιορκίαν , καὶ τὸν ἐπισκήψαντα λιμὸν , καὶ τῆς Ἱερουσαλὴμ τὴν ἀνάστασιν , καὶ τὸν ἐμπρησμὸν τοῦ θείου νεὼ , καὶ τοῦ λαοῦ τὸν ἀνδραποδισμόν
He foretells also the siege that came about at the hands of the Babylonians, and the famine that fell upon them, and the overthrow of Jerusalem, and the burning of the divine temple, and the enslavement of the people.
他也預告那由巴比倫人所施行的圍困、臨到他們的饑荒、耶路撒冷的傾覆、聖殿的焚燒,以及百姓被擄為奴。
1:16⧉ ⤴︎
Προθεσπίζει δὲ καὶ τῶν αἰχμαλώτων ἐπάνοδον , καὶ τῶν Βαβυλωνίων τὸν ὄλεθρον , καὶ μέντοι καὶ ἄλλων ἐθνῶν παμπόλλων τὰς παντοδαπὰς τιμωρίας·
He prophesies also the return of the captives, and the destruction of the Babylonians, and moreover the manifold punishments of very many other nations as well.
他也預言被擄之人的歸回、巴比倫人的滅亡,並且還有其他極多列國各樣的刑罰。

Τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦ Θεοῦ , ὃ ἐγένετο ἐπὶ Ἱερεμίαν , τὸν τοῦ Χελκίου , ἐκ τῶν ἱερέων , ὃς κατῴκει ἐν Ἀναθώθ
'The word of God which came to Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests, who dwelt in Anathoth.'
「神的話臨到希勒家的兒子耶利米,他是亞拿突的祭司之一。」

καὶ τὴν μὲν ἐκ τοῦ γένους εἵλκυσε·
His descent he drew from his lineage,
他的出身得自他的家系,

τὴν δὲ ἐκ τῆς ἄνωθεν ἔλαβε δωρεᾶς
but the gift he received from the grace above.
然而那恩賜卻是他從上頭的恩賜所領受的。

Λέγει δὲ καὶ τὸν χρόνον τῆς προφητείας
He states also the time of the prophecy.
他也說明了這預言的時期。
1:21⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις γὰρ , φησὶν , Ἰωσίου υἱοῦ Ἀμὼς βασιλέως Ἰούδα , ἔτους τρισκαιδεκάτου ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ αὐτοῦ
'For in the days,' he says, 'of Josiah son of Amos king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.'
他說:「在猶大王亞們的兒子約西亞的日子,就是他在位第十三年。」

Μέμνηται δὲ καὶ τῶν ἑξῆς βεβασιλευκότων , μέχρι τῆς ἐσχάτης πολιορκίας
He makes mention also of those who reigned thereafter, down to the final siege.
他也提到其後作王的諸君,直到末次的圍困。

Εἶτα καὶ τὰ εἰρημένα παρὰ τοῦ Θεοῦ τῶν ὅλων δι δάσκει
Then he teaches also the things spoken by the God of all.
接著他也教導萬有之神所說的話。
1:24⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος Κυρίου πρός με , λέ γων·
'And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:'
「耶和華的話臨到我,說:」
1:25⧉ ⤴︎
Πρὸ τοῦ με πλάσαι σε ἐν κοιλίᾳ , ἐπίσταμαί σε·
'Before I formed you in the belly I knew you;'
「我未將你造在腹中,我已曉得你;」
1:26⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ πρὸ τοῦ σε ἐξελθεῖν ἐκ μήτρας , ἡγίακά σε
'and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you.'
「你未出母胎,我已將你分別為聖。」
1:27⧉ ⤴︎
προὔλαβε γὰρ ταύτην ἡ γνῶσις
For this knowledge went before it.
因為這知識乃是先於此事的。
1:28⧉ ⤴︎
Ἔγνω γὰρ , καὶ τότε ἡγίασεν
For He knew, and then He sanctified.
因為祂先知道,然後才將他分別為聖。

Ἐπειδὴ γινώσκει πάντα πρὶν γενέσεως αὐτῶν
Since He knows all things before their coming to be.
因為祂在萬事發生之前便已知曉。

Τὸ δὲ ἡγίασα , ἀντὶ τοῦ ἀφώρισα τέθεικεν Εἶτα λέγει καὶ τὴν χρείαν , δι' ἣν αὐτὸν ἐξελέξατο
The word 'I sanctified' He has here set down in the sense of 'I set apart.' Then He states also the use for which He chose him.
「我將你分別為聖」這話,在此乃是「我使你分別出來」的意思。接著祂也說明揀選他的用處。
1:31⧉ ⤴︎
Προφήτην εἰς ἔθνη τέθει κά σε . Οὐ γὰρ μόνον τὰ Ἰουδαίων , ἀλλὰ καὶ τὰ τῶν ἄλλων ἐθνῶν προθεσπίζει
'I have appointed you a prophet unto the nations.' For not only the affairs of the Jews, but also those of the other nations, does he foretell.
「我已立你作列國的先知。」因為他不僅預言猶太人的事,也預言其他列國的事。
1:32⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐπ . έγνω τὸν προσδιαλεγόμενον ὁ προφήτης·
The prophet recognized the One conversing with him;
先知認出了那與他對話者;
1:33⧉ ⤴︎
οὗ δὴ χά ριν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς κυριωτέρας ὀνομάζει προσηγορίας
for which reason he names Him by the more authoritative title.
因此他便以那更為尊崇的稱號來稱呼祂。

Ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ὤν . Μιμεῖται καὶ τὴν Μωσέως εὐ λάβειαν , οὐκ ἀξιόχρεων εἰς προφητείαν εἶναι λέγων τὴν νεότητα
'I am He who is.' He imitates also the reverence of Moses, saying that his youth was not fit for prophecy.
「我是那自有永有的。」他也效法摩西的敬畏,說自己的年幼不配作先知。
1:35⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐξελαύνει δὲ αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ δέος
But He drives out from him also his fear.
然而祂也將他的懼怕從他心中驅除。
1:36⧉ ⤴︎
Μὴ φοβηθῇς γὰρ , φησὶν , ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν·
'For be not afraid,' He says, 'of their presence;'
祂說:「不要懼怕他們的面,」
1:37⧉ ⤴︎
μηδὲ πτοηθῇς ἐναντίον αὐτῶν
'nor be dismayed before them.'
「也不要在他們面前驚惶。」
1:38⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶτα καὶ τοῦ θάρσους τὴν αἰτίαν διδάσκει·
Then He teaches also the ground of the courage.
接著祂也教導那勇氣的緣由。
1:39⧉ ⤴︎
Μαθητεῦσαι γὰρ αὐτοὺς πάντα τὰ ἔθνη κελεύσας , καὶ προειδὼς , ὡς Θεὸς , ὡς λογι σμοὶ ἀναβαίνουσιν ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις αὐτῶν , πῶς οἷόν τε ἕνδεκα ἄνδρας πένητας καὶ εὐγλωττίας ἐστερη μένους πᾶσαν τὴν οἰκουμένην μεταβαλεῖν·
For having commanded them to make disciples of all the nations, and foreknowing, as God, how the reasonings arise in their hearts, how was it possible for eleven poor men, destitute of eloquence, to transform the whole inhabited world?
因為祂既吩咐他們使萬國作門徒,又身為神預知人心中如何生出各樣的思慮,那十一個貧窮、毫無口才的人怎能扭轉整個天下呢?
1:40⧉ ⤴︎
ἔλυσε τὴν ἀμφιβολίαν , καὶ τὸ δέος ἐξέβαλεν , εἰρηκώς·
He resolved the doubt and cast out the fear, saying:
祂便解開這疑惑,除去這懼怕,說:
1:41⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰμι πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας , ἕως τῆς συντελείας τοῦ αἰῶνος . Τοῦτο καὶ ἐνταῦθα τῷ προ φήτῃ ἔφη , ὅτι Μετὰ σοῦ ἐγώ εἰμι τοῦ ἐξαιρεῖσθαί σε , λέγει Κύριος . Βεβαιοῖ δὲ τὸν λόγον τὸ ἔργον
'And lo, I am with you all the days, until the consummation of the age.' This same thing He also said here to the prophet, that 'I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord.' And the deed confirms the word.
「看哪,我天天與你們同在,直到世界的末了。」這同一件事,祂在此也對先知說:「我與你同在,要拯救你,這是耶和華說的。」而那作為便印證了這話。
1:42⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐξέτεινε γὰρ τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ , φησὶ , καὶ ἥψατο τοῦ στόματός μου , καὶ εἶπε Κύριος πρός με·
'For He stretched forth His hand,' he says, 'and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me:'
他說:「祂伸手按我的口,耶和華對我說:」

Ἰδοὺ δέδωκα τοὺς λόγους μου εἰς τὸ στόμα σου
'Behold, I have put my words into your mouth.'
「看哪,我已將我的話放在你口中。」
1:44⧉ ⤴︎
Ἰδοὺ καθ έστακά σε σήμερον ἐπὶ ἔθνη καὶ βασιλείας , ἐκριζοῦν , καὶ κατασκάπτειν , καὶ ἀπολλύειν , καὶ καταλύειν , καὶ ἀνοικοδομεῖν , καὶ καταφυ τεύειν
'Behold, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to overthrow, and to build up, and to plant.'
「看哪,我今日立你在列國列邦之上,為要施行拔出、拆毀、毀壞、傾覆、建立、栽植。」
1:45⧉ ⤴︎
Προεθέσπισε γὰρ οὐ μόνον τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν τῶν Ἰουδαίων , ἀλλὰ καὶ τὴν ὑπὸ Κύρου παρασχεθεῖ σαν ἐλευθερίαν·
For he foretold not only the captivity of the Jews, but also the freedom that would be granted by Cyrus.
因為他不僅預言了猶太人被擄,也預言了古列所要賜下的釋放。
1:46⧉ ⤴︎
Οὗ δὴ χάριν τὸ μὲν ἐκριζοῦν καὶ καταλύειν ἐπὶ τῶν λυπηρῶν τέθεικε·
For which reason 'to root out' and 'to overthrow' He has set down for the grievous things,
因此,「拔出」與「傾覆」祂乃是用來指那些患難之事,

τὸ δὲ οἰκοδομεῖν καὶ καταφυτεύειν ἐπὶ τῶν ἐναντίων
while 'to build up' and 'to plant' for their opposites.

Μετὰ ταῦτα δείκνυσιν αὐτῷ ῥάβδον καρυΐνην , ἢ , κατὰ τὸν Σύρον καὶ τὸν Ἑβραῖον , ἀμυγδαλίνην
After this He shows him a rod of walnut, or, according to the Syrian and the Hebrew, of almond.
此後祂給他看一根胡桃木的杖,或按敘利亞譯本與希伯來文,乃是杏樹的杖。
1:49⧉ ⤴︎
Οὕτω γὰρ καὶ οὗτος κἀκεῖνος τὴν ῥάβδον ὠνόμασαν·
For thus both the one and the other named the rod;
因為這譯本與那譯本都是如此稱呼這杖;
1:50⧉ ⤴︎
Καλῶς ἑώρακας , διότι ἐγρήγορα ἐγὼ ἐπὶ τοὺς λόγους μου τοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτούς
'You have seen well, for I am watchful over my words to perform them.'
「你看得不錯,因為我要警醒守候我的話,好成就它。」

Ἐγρήγορ σιν δὲ τὴν ἐπὶ τιμωρίᾳ διανάστασιν , καὶ τὴν μακροθυμίαν ὕπνον καλεῖ
By 'watchfulness' He calls the rousing up unto punishment, and by 'sleep' He calls long-suffering.
祂用「警醒」來稱呼那為施行刑罰而興起的行動,用「睡覺」來稱呼那長久的忍耐。
1:52⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐξεγέρθητι , ἱνατί ὑπνοῖς , Κύριε; καὶ πάλιν·
'Awake, why do You sleep, O Lord?' And again:
「主啊,求你醒起,為何睡覺呢?」又說:

Καὶ ἐξηγέρθη , ὡς ὁ ὑπνῶν , Κύριος . Ἡ δὲ ἀμυγδαλίνη ῥάβδος τὸ ταχὺ τῆς τιμωρίας αἰνίττεται·
'And the Lord awaked as one that sleeps.' And the almond rod hints at the swiftness of the punishment;
「於是主像睡醒的人一般起來。」而那杏樹的杖則暗示刑罰的迅速;
1:54⧉ ⤴︎
πρὸ γὰρ τῶν ἄλλων δένδρων τοῦτο τὸ δένδρον ἀνθεῖ
for before the other trees this tree comes into flower.
因為這樹先於別的樹開花。

Κατὰ δὲ τοὺς Ἐβδομήκοντα , οὕτω νοητέον·
But according to the Seventy, it is to be understood thus:
但按七十士譯本,則當如此理解:

Ὁ τῆςκαρύας καρπὸς πικρὸν μὲν ἔχει καὶ τραχὺ τὸ κά λυμμα·
The fruit of the walnut has indeed a bitter and rough husk;
胡桃的果子確有苦澀而粗硬的外殼;

τὸ δὲ ἐδώδιμον ὑπὸ τοῦτο κεκρυμμένον
but the edible part is hidden beneath it.
而可食之物卻藏在其下。
1:58⧉ ⤴︎
Οὕτω καὶ ἡ παιδεία ἀνιαρὰ μὲν ἔχει καὶ ἀλγεινὰ τὰ φαι νόμενα·
So too instruction has things grievous and painful in its outward appearance;
管教也是如此,其外顯的乃是令人愁苦、痛楚之事;

ὀνησιφόρα δὲ τὰ μετὰ ταῦτα
but the things that follow are profitable.
然而隨後而來的卻是有益的。

Εἶτα δεί κνυσιν αὐτῷ καὶ λέβητα ὑποκαιόμενον , καὶ τὸ πρόσωπον , αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ προσώπου βοῤῥᾶ· καλεῖ δὲ λέβητα μὲν τὴν Ἱερουσαλήμ·
Then He shows him also a caldron heated from beneath, and its face from the face of the north; and He calls Jerusalem a caldron,
接著祂也給他看一個下面燒著火的鍋,鍋的面向著北方;祂稱耶路撒冷為鍋,

πῦρ δὲ , τὸν Βα βυλώνιον , ἀπὸ βοῤῥᾶ γὰρ αὐτὸν ὀνομάζει·
and by 'fire' the Babylonian, for He names him 'from the north;'
又用「火」指巴比倫人,因祂稱他為「從北方而來的」;
1:62⧉ ⤴︎
βόῤῥα θεν γὰρ τῆς Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἡ Βαβυλὼν διάκειται·
for Babylon lies to the north of Jerusalem;
因為巴比倫位於耶路撒冷的北方;

λέ βητα δὲ τὴν Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ ὁ θεσπέσιος Ἰεζεκιὴλ ὀνομάζει·
and the divinely-inspired Ezekiel likewise names Jerusalem a caldron,
那受神默示的以西結也同樣稱耶路撒冷為鍋,
1:64⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ κρέα τοὺς ἐνοικοῦντας
and its inhabitants 'flesh.'
並稱其中的居民為「肉」。
1:65⧉ ⤴︎
Ἰδοὺ γὰρ , φησὶν , ἐγὼ συγκαλῶ πάσας τὰς βασιλείας τῶν βασιλέων τῆς γῆς ἀπὸ βοῤῥᾶ , λέγει Κύριος·
'For behold,' He says, 'I call together all the kingdoms of the kings of the earth from the north, says the Lord;'
祂說:「看哪,我要召聚地上列邦諸王的一切國度從北方而來,這是耶和華說的;」

καὶ ἥξουσι , καὶ θήσουσιν ἕκαστος τὸν θρόνον αὑτοῦ ἐπὶ τὰ πρόθυρα τῶν θυρῶν Ἱερουσαλὴμ , καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ τείχη αὐτῆς , καὶ ἐπὶ πάσας τὰς πόλεις Ἰούδα
'and they shall come, and each shall set his throne at the entrances of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all her walls, and against all the cities of Judah.'
「他們必來到,各人安設自己的座位在耶路撒冷城門的入口,又攻擊她一切的城牆,並攻擊猶大的一切城邑。」

Καὶ δεικνὺς τῶν γινομένων τὸ δίκαιον , ἐπιφέρει·
And showing the justice of what came to pass, He adds:

Καὶ λαλήσω μετὰ κρίσεώς μου πρὸς αὐτοὺς περὶ πάσης τῆς κακίας αὐτῶν , ὡς ἐγκατέλιπόν με , καὶ ἔθυσαν θεοῖς ἀλλοτρίοις , καὶ προσεκύνη σαν τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν
'And I will utter my judgments against them concerning all their wickedness, in that they forsook me, and sacrificed to strange gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.'
「我要因他們一切的惡向他們宣告我的判斷,就是他們離棄了我,向別神獻祭,敬拜自己手所造的。」
1:69⧉ ⤴︎
Τί δὲ τῆς ἀσε βείας ταύτης ἀνοητότερον; Τί δὲ τῆς τιμωρίας δι καιότερον; Οἱ μὲν γὰρ , τὸν οἰκεῖον ποιητὴν καταλι πόντες , τὰ οἰκεῖα ἐθεοποίουν ποιήματα
But what is more senseless than this impiety? And what more just than this punishment? For they, forsaking their own Maker, deified their own things made.
還有甚麼比這不敬虔更愚昧的呢?還有甚麼比這刑罰更公義的呢?因為他們離棄了自己的造物主,反倒將自己所造之物奉為神明。
1:70⧉ ⤴︎
Ὁ δὲ , μα κροθυμήσας ἐπὶ πλεῖστον , τῆς οἰκείας αὐτοὺς ἐγύ μνωσε χάριτος
But He, having borne long with them for a very great while, stripped them of His own grace.
然而祂雖對他們極其長久地忍耐,終究還是剝去了他們所享有的祂自己的恩典。
1:71⧉ ⤴︎
Ταύτης δὲ γυμνωθέντες , ἀνοσίοις ἀνδράσιν ἐδούλευσαν
But stripped of this, they became slaves to unholy men.
然而他們既被剝奪了這恩典,便淪為不虔之人的奴僕。
1:72⧉ ⤴︎
Κελεύει δὲ τὴν ὀσφὺν περι ζώσασθαι , τουτέστιν , εὐζώνως καὶ ἀνδρείως διακο σμῆσαι·
He commands him to gird up his loins, that is, to array himself in a well-girt and manly fashion.
祂吩咐他束腰,意即要他束緊腰帶、以剛毅英勇的姿態整裝待命。
1:73⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ τῶν ἤδη γεγενημένων ὑποσχέσεων ἀνα μιμνήσκων , ἐκβάλλει τὸ δέος
And by calling to mind the promises already made, He casts out his fear.
並藉著提醒那些早已作出的應許,除去他心中的懼怕。
1:74⧉ ⤴︎
Λέγει δὲ αὐτὸν ἀποφῆναι καὶ στύλῳ σιδηρῷ , καὶ τείχει χαλκῷ , καὶ ὀχυρωτάτῃ παραπλήσιον πόλει , καὶ ἄμαχον κατα στῆσαι , οὐ μόνον τοῖς ἱερεῦσι τῶν Ἰουδαίων , καὶ τοῖς ἄρχουσιν , ἀλλὰ καὶ αὐτοῖς τοῖς βασιλεῦσι , καὶ παντὶ τῷ πλήθει τῶν ὑπηκόων
He declares that He will make him like an iron pillar, a brazen wall, and a most strongly fortified city, and render him invincible—not only against the priests of the Jews and the rulers, but even against the kings themselves and the whole multitude of their subjects.
祂宣告要使他如同鐵柱、銅牆,又如堅固無比的城邑,使他不可攻破——不僅在猶太人的祭司和官長面前如此,甚至在諸王本身以及一切臣民的眾多百姓面前也是如此。
1:75⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐπαγγέλλεται δὲ αὐτῷ οὐκ εἰρήνην καὶ ἡσυχίαν , ἀλλ' ἀγῶνας καὶ νίκην
He promises him not peace and repose, but struggles and victory.
祂應許給他的並非平安與安逸,而是爭戰與得勝。
1:76⧉ ⤴︎
Πολεμήσουσι γάρ σοι , φησὶ , καὶ οὐ μὴ δύ νωνται πρός σε·
For they shall fight against you, He says, but they shall not prevail against you;
祂說:因為他們要攻擊你,卻不能勝過你;

διότι ἐγὼ μετὰ σοῦ εἰμι , τοῦ ἐξαιρεῖσθαί σε , λέγει Κύριος
because I am with you, to deliver you, says the Lord.
因為我與你同在,要拯救你,這是耶和華說的。

Ταύτην καὶ πρὸς τὴν Ἐκκλησίαν ἐποιήσατο τὴν ὑπόσχεσιν·
This same promise He made also to the Church;
祂也向教會作了同樣的應許;

πρὸς γὰρ δὴ τὸν θειότατον ἔφη Πέτρον·
for to the most divine Peter He said:
因為祂曾對至為神聖的彼得說:

Ἐπὶ ταύτῃ τῇ πέτρᾳ οἰκοδομήσω μου τὴν Ἐκκλησίαν , καὶ πύλαι ᾅδου οὐ κατισχύσουσιν αὐτῆς . Οὐκ εἶπεν , Οὐ πολεμήσου σιν·
Upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. He did not say, 'They shall not make war';
「我要把我的教會建造在這磐石上,陰間的門不能勝過她。」祂並沒有說:「他們不會爭戰」;
1:81⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλὰ , Πολεμοῦντες οὐ κατισχύσουσι . Τὴν γὰρ δὴ νίκην οἱ ἀνταγωνισταὶ πραγματεύονται
but rather, 'Though they war, they shall not prevail.' For it is the adversaries who procure the victory.
而是說:「他們雖爭戰,卻不能得勝。」因為那得勝,正是對敵者為她成就的。

Μετὰ ταῦτα κελεύεται εἰπεῖν τοῖς οἰκοῦσι τὴν Ἱερουσαλήμ·
After this he is commanded to say to those who dwell in Jerusalem:
此後他奉命對住在耶路撒冷的人說:

Ἐμνήσθην σοι ἐλέους νεότητός σου , καὶ ἀγάπης τελειώσεώς σου·
I remembered toward you the mercy of your youth, and the love of your espousals;

ἐν τῷ ἐξακολουθῆσαί σε τῷ ἁγίῳ Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ , ἐν γῇ μὴ σπαρείσῃ , λέγει Κύριος
in your following after the Holy One of Israel in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown, says the Lord.
就是你在曠野、在未曾耕種之地跟隨以色列聖者的時候,這是耶和華說的。

Νεό τητα τῆς Ἰουδαίας τῆς κλήσεως τὴν ἀρχὴν προσηγό ρευσε·
By 'youth' he designated the beginning of the calling of Judea;
他以「幼年」指稱猶太蒙召的起初;

τηνικαῦτα γὰρ αὐτοὶ μὲν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ταλαι πωρούμενοι κατεστέναξαν·
for at that time they themselves, being oppressed in Egypt, groaned aloud;
因為那時他們自己在埃及受苦,發出哀哭嘆息;

αὐτὸς δὲ ᾤκτειρε , καὶ Μωσῇ διακόνῳ χρησάμενος , ἠλευθέρωσε·
but He had compassion, and using Moses as His minister, set them free;
而祂卻施憐憫,用摩西作祂的僕役,釋放了他們;

τὸ δὲ ἀγάπης τελειώσεώς σου κατ' εἰρωνείαν τέθεικεν·
and the phrase 'the love of your espousals' He set down in irony;

οὐδέποτε γὰρ Ἰουδαῖοι περὶ τὸν εὐεργέτην τελείαν ἔσχον ἀγάπην
for the Jews never had perfect love toward their Benefactor.
因為猶太人對他們的施恩者從未有過完全的愛。
1:90⧉ ⤴︎
Ἠγάπησαν γὰρ αὐτὸν , φησὶν , ἐν τῷ στόματι αὑτῶν , καὶ τῇ γλώσσῃ αὑτῶν ἐψεύσαντο αὐτῷ·
For they loved Him, he says, with their mouth, and with their tongue they lied to Him;
經上說:他們用口愛祂,用舌向祂說謊;
1:91⧉ ⤴︎
ἡ δὲ καρδία αὐτῶν οὐκ ἦν εὐθεῖα μετ' αὐτοῦ , οὐδὲ ἐπιστώθησαν ἐν τῇ διαθήκῃ αὐτοῦ . γʹ
but their heart was not right with Him, neither were they faithful in His covenant.
他們的心向祂不正,也不忠於祂的約。

Ἀντὶ τοῦ , Ἄνθέν σε τῶν ἄλλων ἐθνῶν προέκρινα , καὶ ἐμὸς λαὸς ἐχρημάτισας
Which is as much as to say, 'From thence I chose you before the other nations, and you were designated my people.'
這話的意思就是:「我從那時起揀選你過於別的列國,你被稱為我的子民。」

Οὕτω καὶ ὁ μακάριος ἔφη Μωσῆς·
So too the blessed Moses said:
有福的摩西也如此說:

Καὶ ἐγενήθη μερὶς Κυρίου λαὸς αὐτοῦ Ἰακὼβ , σχοίνισμα κληρονομίας αὐτοῦ Ἰσραήλ . – Ἀπαρχὴ γεννημάτων αὐτοῦ . Πρὸ γὰρ τῶν ἄλλων ἁπάντων αὐτὸν ἐξελέξατο
And the Lord's portion became His people Jacob, the lot of His inheritance Israel. — The firstfruits of His produce. For before all others He chose him.
耶和華的份就是祂的百姓雅各,祂產業的籤就是以色列。——祂出產的初熟果子。因為祂在萬民之先揀選了他。

Οὗ δὴ χάριν καὶ τῷ Φαραὼ ἔφη·
For which reason also He said to Pharaoh:

Υἱὸς πρωτότοκός μου Ἰσραήλ· καὶ δι' ἑτέρου δὲ προφήτου φησὶν οὕτως·
Israel is my firstborn son; and through another prophet He speaks thus:

Ὡς σταφυλὴν ἐν ἐρήμῳ εὗρον τὸν Ἰσραὴλ , καὶ ὡς καρπὸν σύκου πρώϊμον εὗρον πατέρας αὐτῶν . – Πάντες οἱ ἐσθίοντες αὐτὸν πλημμελήσουσι , κακὰ ἐπάξω ἐπ' αὐτοὺς , λέ γει Κύριος . Οὐδὲ γὰρ ὡς τῷ Θεῷ διακονοῦντες ἐπο λέμουν οἱ πολεμοῦντες τῷ Ἰσραήλ·
As a grape-cluster in the wilderness I found Israel, and as an early fig upon the fig tree I found their fathers. — All that devour him shall offend; I will bring evils upon them, says the Lord. For those who warred against Israel did not war as though ministering to God;
我遇見以色列,如在曠野遇見葡萄;我看見他們的列祖,如看見無花果樹上初熟的果子。——凡吞吃他的必陷於罪,我必使災禍臨到他們,這是耶和華說的。因為那些攻擊以色列的人,並非以事奉神的心去爭戰;

ἀλλ' ὡς αὐτοῦ τοῦ Θεοῦ περιγενήσεσθαι δυνάμενοι
but as though able to prevail over God Himself.
而是自以為能勝過神本身。
1:99⧉ ⤴︎
Οὕτω καὶ Σε ναχηρεὶμ ἔλεγε·
So too Sennacherib said:
西拿基立也這樣說:
1:100⧉ ⤴︎
Μή σε ἀπατάτω ὁ Θεός σου , ἐν ᾧ σὺ πέποιθας ἐπ' αὐτῷ , λέγων ὅτι Ῥύσεται Κύριος τὴν Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἐκ χειρός μου . Τούτου δὴ χάριν καὶ αὐτοῖς ἀπειλεῖ τιμωρίαν
Let not your God, in whom you trust, deceive you, saying that the Lord will deliver Jerusalem out of my hand. For this very reason He threatens punishment upon them also.
不要讓你所倚靠的神欺哄你,說耶和華必救耶路撒冷脫離我的手。正因如此,祂也向他們發出刑罰的威嚇。
1:101⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ Θεὸς ὢν πανάγιος , ἀνθρώποις παρανόμοις λέγει·
And being God all-holy, He says to lawless men:
祂身為至聖的神,卻對不法之人說:
1:102⧉ ⤴︎
Τί ἐξ ήμαρτον; Τί ἠδίκησα; Εἴπατε , ἐλέγξατε
Wherein have I sinned? What wrong have I done? Speak, convict me.
我在何處犯了罪?我行了甚麼不義?你們說出來,指證我吧。
1:103⧉ ⤴︎
Τί ἔχοντες ἐγκαλεῖν οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν ἐμὲ μὲν τὸν εὐεργέτην ἐγκατέλιπον , τοῖς δὲ χειροποιήτοις εἰδώλοις ἐδού λευσαν; Καὶ μὴν ἐγὼ τῆς Αἰγυπτίων δουλείας ἀπήλ λαξα·
'What ground of accusation had your fathers, that they forsook me their Benefactor, and served idols made by hands? And yet I delivered them from the bondage of the Egyptians;
「你們的列祖有甚麼可控告我的,竟離棄我這施恩者,去事奉人手所造的偶像呢?我明明領他們脫離了埃及人的奴役;
1:104⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ δι' ἀβάτου μὲν ὡδήγησα γῆς , ἐν ἐρήμῳ δὲ ἀνύδρῳ ἀφθόνων ὑδάτων ῥεῖθρον ἐδωρησάμην , εἰς δὲ τὴν ἐπηγγελμένην εἰσήγαγον γῆν , παντοδαπῶν οὖσαν μητέρα καρπῶν
and I led them through a trackless land, and in a waterless wilderness I bestowed upon them a stream of abundant waters, and I brought them into the promised land, mother of fruits of every kind;
我引導他們經過無路可行之地,在無水的曠野賜給他們豐沛水源的江河,又領他們進入所應許之地,那地乃是各樣果實的母親;
1:105⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλ' οὐδὲ τούτων ἀπολαύσαντες τὸν εὐεργέτην ἐπέγνωτε·
yet, not even after enjoying these things did you acknowledge your Benefactor;
然而你們縱使享受了這一切,仍不認識你們的施恩者;
1:106⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλὰ τὴν τῶν πατέρων ἐμιμήσασθε βδελυρίαν
but you imitated the abomination of your fathers.'
反倒效法你們列祖的可憎之行。」
1:107⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶτα κατὰ διαίρεσιν ἑκάστου τάγματος τὴν κατηγορίαν εἰσφέρει
Then, dividing them by each rank, He brings forward His accusation.
接著,祂按著各等次逐一劃分,提出祂的控訴。
1:108⧉ ⤴︎
Ποῦ ἐστι Κύριος; Τοῦτο πάντων ἀνοσιώτατον·
'Where is the Lord?' This is the most unholy thing of all:
「耶和華在哪裡呢?」這乃是萬事中最為不虔的:
1:109⧉ ⤴︎
τὸ τοὺς ποδηγοὺς ἀρχηγοὺς γενέσθαι τῆς πλάνης
that those who should have been guides became the leaders in error.
就是那些本當作嚮導的人,反倒成了謬妄的帶頭者。
1:110⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ οἱ ἀντεχόμενοι τοῦ νόμου οὐκ ἠπίσταντό με . Τῶν γραμματέων καὶ διδασκάλων ἐνταῦθα κατηγορεῖ , ὡς ἑρμηνευόντων μὲν τὸν νόμον , πρώτων δὲ τοῦτον παραβαινόντων
And they that hold to the law knew me not. Here He accuses the scribes and teachers, as being those who expound the law, yet are the first to transgress it.
那些持守律法的也不認識我。這裡祂控告文士和教師,說他們雖然講解律法,自己卻是首先違犯律法的人。
1:111⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ οἱ ποιμένες ἠσέβουν εἰς ἐμέ . Τοὺς βασιλέας οὕτως ὠνόμασε
And the shepherds acted impiously against me. Thus He named the kings.
牧人也得罪了我。祂如此稱呼諸王。
1:112⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ οἱ προφῆται προεφήτευον ἐν τῷ Βάαλ . Προφήτας τοὺς ψευδοπροφήτας καλεῖ , ὥσπερ αὖ καὶ θεοὺς τοὺς οὐκ ὄντας θεούς
And the prophets prophesied by Baal. He calls the false prophets 'prophets,' just as He calls those that are no gods 'gods.'
先知也藉巴力說預言。祂稱那些假先知為「先知」,正如祂稱那些本非神的為「神」一樣。
1:113⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ὀπίσω τοῦ ἀνωφελοῦς ἐπορεύθησαν
And they went after that which is unprofitable.
他們隨從那無益之物。
1:114⧉ ⤴︎
Ἔδειξε τὴν τῆς παραπληξίας ὑπερβολήν·
He showed the excess of their madness;
祂顯明了他們瘋狂到了極點;
1:115⧉ ⤴︎
καταλιπόντες γὰρ τὸν τῶν παντοδαπῶν ἀγαθῶν χορηγὸν , τοῖς ἐπιζημίοις εἰδώλοις ἐλάτρευον
for having forsaken the Giver of all manner of good things, they served the pernicious idols.
因為他們既離棄了那賜下各樣美善之物的主,反倒事奉那害人的偶像。
1:116⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν υἱῶν κριθήσομαι
And I will contend with the sons of your sons.
我要與你們子孫的後代相爭辯。
1:117⧉ ⤴︎
Κρινῶ ὑμᾶς καὶ τοὺς ὑμετέρους ἀπογόνους·
'I will judge you and your descendants';
並非說「我要審判你們和你們的後裔」;
1:118⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλὰ , Κριθήσομαι καὶ πρὸς ὑμᾶς , καὶ πρὸς ἐκείνους·
but rather, 'I will contend both with you and with them';
而是說:「我要與你們相爭,也要與他們相爭」;
1:119⧉ ⤴︎
καλεῖ δὲ Χεττιεὶμ μὲν τὴν Κύπρον , καὶ τὰς περὶ αὐτὴν νήσους , καὶ δι' αὐτῶν τὰ ἑσπέρια μέρη·
and by 'Chettim' He calls Cyprus and the islands round about it, and through these the western regions;
祂以「基提」稱塞浦路斯和其周圍的海島,並藉此指西方之地;
1:120⧉ ⤴︎
Κηδὰρ δὲ , τοὺς τὴν πρὸς ἥλιον ἀνίσχοντα ἔρημον οἰκοῦντας·
and by 'Kedar,' those who dwell in the wilderness toward the rising sun;
又以「基達」稱那些住在向著日出之處曠野的人;
1:121⧉ ⤴︎
διὰ δὲ τού . των , τὰ ἑῷα μέρη αἰνίττεται·
and through these He hints at the eastern regions;
祂藉這些暗指東方之地;
1:122⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ διδάσκει ὡς ἐκεῖ νοι μὲν τοῖς πατρῴοις ἠκολούθησαν ἔθεσι , καὶ οὒς ἐδιδάχθησαν σέβειν θεούς·
and He teaches that those peoples followed the customs of their fathers, and the gods they had been taught to reverence;
祂又教導說:那些外邦人乃是隨從他們列祖的習俗,敬拜他們所受教去尊崇的神明;
1:123⧉ ⤴︎
οὗτοι δὲ τὸν ὄντως Θεὸν ἠρνήθησαν
but these people denied the true God.
而這些人卻否認了那位真神。
1:124⧉ ⤴︎
οὐκ ἐπειδὴ λογικὰ τὰ στοιχεῖα·
not because the elements are endowed with reason;
這並非因為那些元素是有理性的;
1:125⧉ ⤴︎
ἀλλ' ὅτι ταῦτα , ὡς περιεκτικὰ τῆς κτίσεως , εἰς μαρτυρίαν μακάριος ἐκάλεσε Μωσῆς
but because these things, as embracing the whole creation, the blessed Moses called to witness.
而是因為這些之物,既涵蓋了整個受造界,有福的摩西便召它們作見證。
1:126⧉ ⤴︎
Πρόσεχε γὰρ , ἔφη , οὐρανὲ , καὶ λαλήσω·
For he said: Give ear, O heaven, and I will speak;
因為他說:諸天哪,側耳而聽,我要說話;

καὶ ἀκουέτω γῆ ῥήματα ἐκ στόματός μου . γʹ
and let the earth hear the words from my mouth.
願大地聆聽我口中的言語。

Ὅτι δύο καὶ πονηρὰ ἐποίησεν ὁ λαός μου·
For my people have committed two evil things:
因為我的百姓行了兩件惡事:

ἐμὲ μὲν ἐγκατέλιπον πηγὴν ὕδατος ζωῆς , καὶ ὤρυξαν ἑαυτοῖς λάκκους συντετριμμένους , οἳ οὐ δυνήσονται ὕδωρ συσχεῖν
they have forsaken me, the fountain of the water of life, and have hewn out for themselves broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
他們離棄我這生命活水的泉源,為自己鑿出破裂不能存水的池子。
1:130⧉ ⤴︎
Λάκκους συν τετριμμένους τὰ εἴδωλα προσηγόρευσεν
By 'broken cisterns' He designated the idols.
祂以「破裂的池子」指稱那些偶像。
1:131⧉ ⤴︎
Ὁ γὰρ λάκ κος χειροποίητος μέν ἐστιν , ἀναβλύζον δὲ ὕδωρ οὐκ ἔχει·
For the cistern is made by hands, and has no water welling up of itself;
因為池子是人手所造的,本身並無湧流的活水;
1:132⧉ ⤴︎
τὸ δὲ ἐκ νεφῶν τικτόμενον , καὶ ἔνθεν κἀκεῖθεν συναθροι ζόμενον δέχεται·
but it receives that which is born of the clouds and gathered from this side and that;
它所盛的乃是雲霧所生、從四面匯集而來的水;
1:133⧉ ⤴︎
εἰ δὲ καὶ διεῤῥωγὼς ᾖ καὶ συντετριμ μένος , παραυτίκα τὸ ἐξ οὐρανοῦ συνειλεγμένον ἀπόλ λυσι·
and if it be cracked and broken, it at once loses what has been collected from heaven.
若是它裂開破損了,便立刻失去那從天上匯集來的水。
1:134⧉ ⤴︎
Τοιαύτη τῶν εἰδώλων ἡ φύσις
Such is the nature of the idols.

'That Israel was freed from the bondage of the Egyptians,' He says, 'all men knew;

and that he lived as a distinct polity, enjoying my providence, was plain to all.'
他享有我的眷佑,得以作為一個獨立的國度而生活,這也是眾人都明白的。」

For he was conspicuous and greatly regarded.

What then was the cause of the captivity? Why did they become an easy prey to the kings who came against them? For he called the kings 'lions.'

Ταῦτα δὲ οὐ μόνον ὑπὸ Ἀσσυρίων πεπόνθατε·
And these things you have suffered not only at the hands of the Assyrians.

'The sons of Memphis and of Tahpanhes have known you and mocked you.'

They who once endured those far-famed sufferings for your sake,

Then he also indicates the beginning of their apostasy.

'And now what have you to do with the way of Egypt, to drink the water of Gihon? And what have you to do with the way of the Assyrians, to drink the water of the rivers?' When they were warred upon by the Syrians, they called the Assyrians into alliance;
「如今你為何在通往埃及的路上,去喝基訓的水呢?你為何在通往亞述的路上,去喝大河的水呢?」當他們被敘利亞人攻打時,便召亞述人前來結盟;

but when the Assyrians made war against them, they fled for refuge to the Egyptians.

For by 'Gihon' he means the Nile.

'Your apostasy shall chastise you, and your wickedness shall reprove you;'

'and know and see that it is a bitter and evil thing for you to have forsaken me, says the Lord your God.'

'And I have taken no pleasure in you, says the Lord your God.'

'Me,' he says, 'you did not call into alliance, but those others.'

Something of this sort those also suffered who crucified the Saviour;

ἀρνηθέντες γὰρ αὐτὸν , ἔλεγον μὴ ἔχειν βασιλέα εἰ μὴ Καίσαρα , οὗ δὴ χάριν αὐτοὺς Καίσαρι παραδέδωκεν
for having denied him, they said that they had no king but Caesar, and for that very reason he handed them over to Caesar.

Your practices are of the old fashion;

ἄνωθεν γὰρ συνέτριψας τὸν τοῦ νόμου ζυγὸν , καὶ τοῖς τῶν παρανόμων ἐθνῶν ἠκολούθησας ἔθεσι
for from of old you broke the yoke of the law and followed the customs of the lawless nations.
因為你自古就折斷了律法的軛,隨從了那些不法之民的風俗。

Καὶ τοὺς βωμοὺς καὶ τὰ ἄλση τῆς κατὰ νόμον πολι τείας προὐτίμησας
And you preferred the altars and the sacred groves to the polity according to the law.
你竟看重那些邱壇和木偶,過於那按著律法而立的體制。

Ἐγὼ δὲ ἐφύτευσά σε ἄμπελον καρπο φόρον , πᾶσαν ἀληθινήν
'But I planted you as a fruitful vine, wholly true.'
「我卻栽了你,作結果子的葡萄樹,全然是真的。」

Οὐχ ἁπλῶς δὲ τὸ πᾶ σαν προστέθεικεν·
And not without purpose has he added the word 'wholly';

ἀλλ' ἐπειδὴ ἦσαν ἐν αὐτοῖς εὐσεβεῖς ἄνδρες , οἵ τε θεῖοι προφῆται , καὶ οἱ τούτοις ἑπόμενοι·
but since there were among them godly men, both the divine prophets and those who followed them;
乃因在他們中間曾有敬虔之人,就是那些神聖的先知,以及跟隨他們的人;

ἀντὶ τοῦ , Πάντας ὑμᾶς ἐβουλόμην εἶναι τοιούτους , πάντων γὰρ ἴσως ἐπεμελήθην
it is as if to say: I wished you all to be such, for I cared equally for you all.
這意思彷彿是說:我曾願你們眾人都作這樣的人,因為我對你們眾人都一樣看顧。

Πῶς ἐστράφης μοι εἰς πικρίαν ἡ ἄμπελος ἡ ἀλλο τρία; Εἰ διέμεινεν ἀληθινὴ , οὐκ ἂν ἦν ἀλλο τρία·
'How are you turned into bitterness to me, you strange vine?' If it had remained true, it would not have been strange;
「你這外邦的葡萄樹啊,怎麼向我變成了苦的呢?」它若存留為真葡萄樹,就不會是外邦的;

ἐπειδὴ δὲ εἰς πικρίαν μετεβλήθη , οὐκέτι ἀληθινὴ , ἀλλ' ἀλλοτρία καλεῖται
but since it was changed into bitterness, it is no longer called true, but strange.
但既然它變成了苦的,就不再稱為真的,反倒稱為外邦的了。

Οὕτω καὶ ὁ μέγας ἔφη Μωσῆς·
So also the great Moses said:
偉大的摩西也曾這樣說:

Ἐκ γὰρ ἀμπέλου Σοδόμων ἡ ἄμπελος αὐτῶν , καὶ ἡ κληματὶς αὐτῶν ἐκ Γομόῤῥας·
'For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and their branch of Gomorrah;'
「因為他們的葡萄樹是所多瑪的葡萄樹,他們的枝子出於蛾摩拉;」

Ἀλλ' ἐπειδὴ τὴν θείαν ἐξύβρισαν φυτουργίαν , καὶ εἰς πικρίαν ἐστρά φησαν , καὶ ἀντὶ σταφυλῆς ἀκάνθας ἐβλάστησαν , ὁ ἐξ . αὐτῶν κατὰ σάρκα Χριστὸς ἄμπελον αὐτὸν ἀληθι νὴν ὀνομάζει , λέγων·
But since they outraged the divine husbandry and were turned into bitterness, and instead of grapes brought forth thorns, Christ, who according to the flesh is from them, calls himself the true vine, saying:
但既然他們褻慢了神的栽種之工,變成了苦的,並且不結葡萄反倒長出荊棘,那按著肉體出於他們的基督便稱自己為真葡萄樹,說:

Ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ἄμπελος ἡ ἀλη θινή· τοὺς δὲ εἰς αὐτὸν πεπιστευκότας κλήματα προσηγόρευσεν
'I am the true vine;' and those who have believed in him he called the branches.
「我是真葡萄樹」;他又把那些信入他的人稱為枝子。

Ἐὰν ἀποπλύνῃ ἐν νίτρῳ , καὶ πληθύνῃς σεαυτῇ πόαν , κεκηλίδωσαι ἐν ταῖς ἀδικίαις σου ἐναντίον μου , λέγει Κύριος
'Though you wash yourself with nitre and heap up much soap for yourself, you are stained in your iniquities before me, says the Lord.'
「你雖用鹼、多用肥皂洗滌自己,你的罪孽在我面前仍然玷污了你,這是耶和華說的。」

Πόαν τὰ ἀπὸ γῆς φυόμενα ῥύμματα ὀνομάζει·
By 'soap' he means the cleansing agents that grow from the earth;

καὶ διδάσκει τρο πικῶς διὰ τούτων , ὡς τὰ κατὰ νόμον περιῤῥαντήρια ἀπαλλαγὴν ἁμαρτημάτων οὐ πραγματεύεται·
and by these he teaches figuratively that the sprinklings prescribed by the law do not effect release from sins;
藉此他以喻意的方式教導:律法所規定的潔淨灑洗,並不能成就罪的赦免;

ἀλλ' εἰλικρινὴς μεταμέλεια , καὶ πονηρίας ἀπαλλαγή
but sincere repentance and a turning away from wickedness do.
唯有真誠的悔改,以及離棄邪惡,才能成就這事。

Μετὰ ταῦτα τὴν ἀναίδειαν αὐτῆς ἐξελέγχει
After this he exposes her shamelessness.

'I am not defiled, and I have not gone after Baal, have I?' Then he shows the openness of her impiety:

Ἴδε τὰς ὁδούς σου ἐν τῷ πολυ ανδρίῳ , καὶ γνῶθι τί ἐποίησας . Πολυάνδριον καλεῖ τὸ τῶν μνημάτων χωρίον
'See your ways in the burial-place, and know what you have done.' By 'burial-place' he means the region of the tombs.
「你看看自己在墳場中的行徑,就知道你所做的了。」他以「墳場」指那葬有墳墓之地。

Ἐν ἐκείνῳ δὲ τοὺς υἱοὺς καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας τοῖς εἰδώλοις κατέκαιον
For in that place they burned their sons and daughters to the idols.

μετὰ τὴν πεῖραν , φησὶ , τῶν ἀλγεινῶν , τῆς παρανομίας αἴσθησιν ἔλαβε
after the experience of her sorrows, he says, she gained a perception of her lawlessness.

'She was given over; who shall turn her back?' For since God has given her over, who will avail? So also through the great Moses he says:

'in her humiliation they shall find her.' For they became easy to subdue, having embraced impiety.

After this he teaches that, though often counselled to depart from her harmful course, she brazenly resisted to his face, openly confessing her apostasy.

'but to me they gave their backs, and turned away from me as from an enemy.'

'Arise and save us.' This especially is of the utmost shamelessness—that while enjoying good things they are sick with ingratitude,

but when in want, they ask to partake of these things.

'For according to the number of your cities were your gods, O Judah, and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem they sacrificed to Baal.'

Οὕτω δείξας τὴν τῶν οὐκ ὄντων θεῶν τιμὴν , καὶ τὸ πλῆθος , καὶ τὴν ἀσθένειαν , πράως τοῖς ἀχαρίστοις ἐπιτιμᾷ·
Having thus shown the honour paid to gods that are not, and their multitude and their weakness, he gently rebukes the ungrateful ones:
他既如此顯明那些虛無之神所受的尊崇、其數目之眾,以及其軟弱無能,便溫和地責備那些忘恩之人:

'Why do you speak against me? You have all been impious, and you have all transgressed against me, says the Lord.'

Ἀναμιμνήσκει καὶ τῶν ἐπενε χθεισῶν αὐτοῖς παιδειῶν
He also reminds them of the chastisements brought upon them.

Neither when benefited did you acknowledge your Benefactor, nor when chastened did you turn away from impiety.
你們既受了恩惠卻不認識那施恩者,又受了管教卻不離棄不敬虔。

Ἐγὼ δὲ καὶ τοὺς αἰτίους τῆς πλάνης σφαγῇ παραδέδωκα
'And I even delivered over to slaughter those responsible for the error.'
「我甚至把那些致使人迷惑的罪魁交付於刀劍。」

Μὴ ἔρημος ἐγενόμην τῷ οἴκῳ Ἰακὼβ , ἢ γῆ κεχερσωμένη , διότι εἶπεν ὁ λαός μου·
'Have I become a wilderness to the house of Jacob, or a barren land, that my people has said:'
「我豈向雅各家成了曠野,或成了荒蕪之地嗎,以致我的百姓竟說:」

Οὐ κυριευθησόμεθα , καὶ οὐχ ἥξομεν πρός σε; Εἰ ρωνικῶς ταῦτα λέγει
'We shall not be lorded over, and we will not come to you?' He says these things ironically.
「我們必不受轄制,也不再到你這裡來?」他說這些話乃是帶著反諷之意。

Ἆρα , φησὶ , μὴ τοῖς εἰδώλοις εἰμὶ παραπλήσιος; ἆρα μὴ ὁμοίως ἐκείνοις οὐδένα αὐτοῖς καρπὸν ἀγαθὸν προσενήνοχα , καὶ διὰ τοῦτο τὴν ἐμὴν δουλείαν ἀπέδρασαν; Μεταβαίνει δὲ καὶ ἐφ' ἑτέραν εἰκόνα , καὶ λέγει , πᾶσαν μὲν νύμ φην τοῦ κόσμου πεφροντικέναι , πᾶσαν δὲ παρθένον τῆς στηθοδεσμίδος ἐπιμελεῖσθαι·
'Am I, then,' he says, 'like the idols? Have I, like them, brought forth for them no good fruit, and is it for this reason that they have run away from serving me?' And he passes over to another image, and says that he has cared for every bride of the world and taken thought for every maiden's breast-band;
他說:「難道我像那些偶像嗎?難道我像它們一樣,沒有給他們結出任何美好的果子,以致他們因此逃離了對我的事奉嗎?」他又轉到另一個比喻,說他曾眷顧世上每一位新婦,也曾照管每一位處女的束胸帶;

but the people that had been called neglected their guardian.

'What good thing wilt thou yet devise in thy ways, that thou mayest seek love?' What further, He says, dost thou wish to add to the things already spoken, as though to procure My affection toward thee?
「你還要在你的道路上籌謀什麼善事,好尋求愛呢?」祂說:你還想在前面所說的事上添加什麼別的,彷彿要博得我對你的鍾愛麼?
1:213⧉ ⤴︎
Οὐχ οὕτως . Οὐδὲν τούτων εἰς ἀγάπην κινεῖ , ἀλλὰ τοὐναντίον μῖσος ἐρ γάζεται·
Not so. None of these things moves Me to love; on the contrary, it works hatred.
並非如此。這些事沒有一樣能感動我去愛,反倒生出恨惡。

οὐ γὰρ μόνον εἰς ἀσέβειαν ἐξώκειλας , ἀλλὰ καὶ μιαιφονίαν ἐτόλμησας
For thou hast not only run aground upon impiety, but hast also dared bloodshed.
因為你不僅擱淺於不敬虔之中,還膽敢流人的血。

Ἐν γὰρ ταῖς χερσί σου , φησὶν , εὑ ρέθη αἵματα ψυχῶν ἀθώων
'For in thy hands,' He says, 'was found the blood of innocent souls.'
祂說:「因為在你手上找到了無辜之人的血。」

Καὶ ἔθυσαν τοὺς υἱοὺς αὑτῶν τοῖς δαιμονίοις , καὶ ἐξέχεαν αἷμα ἀθῶον , αἷμα υἱῶν αὑτῶν καὶ θυγατέρων , ὧν ἔθυσαν τοῖς γλυπτοῖς Χαναὰν , καὶ ἐφονοκτονήθη ἡ γῆ ἐν τοῖς αἵμασι
'And they sacrificed their sons to the demons, and shed innocent blood, the blood of their own sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the graven images of Canaan; and the land was defiled with murder in the blood.'
「他們把自己的兒子獻祭給鬼魔,流無辜之血,就是自己兒女的血,是獻祭給迦南的雕刻偶像的;那地就因流血而遭殺戮的玷污。」

Οὐκ ἐν διορύγμασιν εὗρον αὐτοὺς , ἀλλ' ἐπὶ πάσῃ δρυΐ . Οὐ γὰρ ὥσπερ οἱ τοιχωρύχοι λάθρα τοῦτο δρῶσιν , οὕτω καὶ οὗτοι λαν θάνειν ἐπειρῶντο παρανομοῦντες , ἀλλὰ πᾶς βουνὸς , καὶ πᾶν ἄλσος ἐδέξατο τὴν τούτων ἀσέβειαν·
'Not in the diggings did I find them, but on every oak.' For not as the burglars do this in secret, so did these too attempt to escape notice while transgressing; rather, every hill and every grove received their impiety.
「我發現他們不是在挖穿的牆洞裡,乃是在各棵橡樹之下。」因為他們並不像穿牆盜賊暗中行事那樣,試圖在犯法時不被察覺;反倒是每座山岡、每片樹叢都接納了他們的不敬虔。

ἀναιδεῖς δὲ ὄντες , καὶ βδελυροὶ , καὶ τὰ προφανῶς γινόμενα ἐξηρνοῦντο
And being shameless and abominable, they even denied the things done openly.
他們既是厚顏無恥又可憎的,甚至連公然所行的事也加以否認。

ἀλλὰ ἀπο στραφήτω ὁ θυμὸς αὐτοῦ ἀπ' ἐμοῦ
'But let His anger be turned away from me.'

'Behold, I enter into judgment with thee for thy saying,'

Ὅτι κατεφρόνησαι σφόδρα τοῦ δευτε ρῶσαι τὰς ὁδούς σου
'Because thou hast greatly despised the repeating of thy ways.'
「因為你極其藐視,一再重蹈你的道路。」

Κατάλληλος γὰρ ἡ ἀναί δεια τῇ παρανομίᾳ·
For the shamelessness matches the lawlessness.
因為這無恥正與那不法相稱。

τούτου καὶ ἕτερον , ὅτι Ὥσπερ Ἀσσυρίους εἰς συμμαχίαν καλέσαντες , οὐδὲν ἐκ τῆς ἐπικουρίας ἀπώνασθε , οὕτω καὶ νῦν Αἰ γυπτίοις προσπεφευγότες , οὐδεμιᾶς ἐκεῖθεν ὠφε λείας ἀπολαύσεσθε
And there is this further point too, namely: 'Just as when ye called the Assyrians into alliance ye gained nothing from that aid, so now too, having fled for refuge to the Egyptians, ye shall enjoy no benefit from thence.'
還有另一點,就是說:「正如你們召請亞述人結盟時,從那援助得不到任何好處,如今你們投奔埃及人,也照樣從那裡享不到絲毫的益處。」

Τοῦτο γὰρ διὰ τῶν ἐπιφερομέ νων δηλοῖ
For this He makes clear through what follows.

'And thou shalt be put to shame by Egypt, even as thou wast put to shame by Assur.'
「你必因埃及蒙羞,正如你因亞述蒙羞一樣。」

Ἴδιον τῶν θρηνουσῶν τὸ τὰς χεῖρας συμπεπλεγμένας ἐπιτιθέναι τῇ κεφαλῇ
It is characteristic of women who mourn to place their clasped hands upon their head.
把交疊的雙手放在頭上,這是哀哭婦人所特有的舉動。

Τὸ δὲ αἴτιον τῶν κακῶν , Ὅτι ἀπώσατο Κύριος τὴν ἐλπίδα σου , καὶ οὐκ εὐο δωθήσῃ ἐπ' αὐτῇ . Εἰ γὰρ εἰς τὸν Θεὸν ἤλπισας , ἐτρύγησας ἂν ὥριμον τὸν τῆς ἐλπίδος καρπόν·
And the cause of the evils is: 'Because the Lord hath rejected thy hope, and thou shalt not prosper in it.' For hadst thou set thy hope in God, thou wouldst have gathered the ripe fruit of hope;
而諸禍的緣由是:「因為耶和華棄絕了你所倚靠的,你在其上必不亨通。」因為你若倚靠神,就必採收那盼望成熟的果子;
1:229⧉ ⤴︎
ἐπειδὴ δὲ ἀνθρώποις ἐθάῤῥησας , διήμαρτες τῆς ἐλπίδος
but since thou didst put thy confidence in men, thou didst fail of thy hope.
但你既信賴世人,就在盼望上落了空。
1:230⧉ ⤴︎
Μετὰ ταῦτα δὲ γινώσκει , ὡς πᾶσα μὲν γυνὴ τοῦ ἀνδρὸς ἀφισταμένη , καὶ ἑτέρῳ συναπτομένη , πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα τὸν πρότερον ἐπανελθεῖν οὐ δυνήσεται , τοῦ νό μου τοῦτο κωλύοντος·
After these things He teaches that every woman who departs from her husband and joins herself to another cannot return to her former husband, since the law forbids this;
在這之後,祂教導說:凡離開丈夫、與別人結合的婦人,都不能歸回從前的丈夫,因為律法禁止此事;
1:231⧉ ⤴︎
ἐμὲ δὲ σὺ τὸν κατὰ νόμον σοι συν αφθέντα καταλιποῦσα , συνήφθης δαίμοσιν ἀνοσίοις·
'but thou, having forsaken Me who was lawfully joined to thee, wast joined to unholy demons;'
「但你卻離棄了照律法與你結合的我,反倒與不聖潔的鬼魔結合了;」
1:232⧉ ⤴︎
εἶτα , πάλιν αἴσθησιν δεξαμένη τῆς βλάβης πρὸς ἐμὲ ἐπανῄεις , ἐγὼ δὲ οὐκ ἀπωθούμην
then again, having perceived the harm, thou wast returning to Me, and I was not thrusting thee away.
後來你又察覺了所受的損害,就轉回到我這裡來,而我並沒有把你推開。

Εἰ δὲ νομίζεις ἁπλῶς με ταῦτα λέγειν , βʹ
'But if thou thinkest that I say these things at random,' (part 2)
「但你若以為我是隨口說這些話,」(第二段)

Ἆρον εἰς εὐθεῖαν τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου , καὶ ἴδε ποῦ οὐχὶ ἐξεφύρθης
'Lift up thine eyes straight before thee, and see where thou wast not defiled.'
「你舉目向前直看,看你在何處沒有被玷污。」

Τοῦτο γὰρ καὶ διὰ τοῦ Ἐζεκιήλ φησι πρὸς αὐτὴν , Καὶ εὗρόν σε πεφυρμένην ἐν τῷ αἵματί σου· οὕτω δὲ καὶ ὁ Σύρος ἡρμήνευσε
For this He says to her through Ezekiel also: 'And I found thee defiled in thy blood;' and thus too the Syriac rendered it.
因為祂藉著以西結也對她說:「我發現你在你的血中被玷污了;」敘利亞譯本也是這樣翻譯的。

Λέγει δὲ ἐν τοῖς ἑξῆς , ὅτι Οὐ μόνον παραγινομένους ἐδέχου , ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐξῄεις ἐπιζητοῦσα·
And He says in what follows that: 'Not only didst thou receive those who came, but thou also wentest forth seeking them;'
祂在隨後的話中說:「你不僅接納那些前來的人,還親自出去尋找他們;」

καὶ ταῖς κορώναις πα ραπλησίως προσήδρευες ταῖς ὁδοῖς , τὴν ἐκείνων προσ μένουσα παρουσίαν , καὶ τὴν γῆν μιασμάτων ἐνέπλη σας , πολλοῖς ποιμέσιν ἀνθ' ἑνὸς χρησαμένη
'and like crows thou didst sit beside the ways, awaiting their coming, and thou didst fill the land with pollutions, employing many shepherds in place of one.'
「你像烏鴉一樣蹲坐在道路旁,等候他們前來,你用許多牧人代替一位牧人,使那地充滿了污穢。」

Ποιμένας γὰρ πολλοὺς τὰ εἴδωλα προσηγόρευσεν ὥσπερ γὰρ θεοὶ ἐκαλοῦντο τὴν θείαν προσηγορίαν συλήσαντες οἱ τοῦ ψεύδους πατέρες οὕτω καὶ ποιμένες ὠνομά σθησαν τὸ τοῦ ἀληθινοῦ ποιμένος λῃστεύσαντες ὄνομα
For He called the idols 'many shepherds'; for just as those fathers of falsehood were called gods, having plundered the divine appellation, so also were they named shepherds, having stolen the name of the true Shepherd.
因為祂把偶像稱作「許多牧人」;正如那些謊言之父盜取了神聖的稱號而被稱為神明,照樣他們也竊取了真牧人的名而被稱作牧人。

Ὄψις πόρνης ἐγένετό σοι , ἀπηναισχύντησας πρὸς πάντας . Καθάπερ γὰρ αἱ τὴν ὥραν ἀπεμπολοῦσαι τῶν μετώπων ἀποξύουσι τὴν αἰδῶ , καὶ πᾶσιν ὁμοίως προσφέρονται·
'Thou hadst the look of a harlot, thou wast shameless toward all.' For just as those who sell their beauty scrape all modesty from their brows and offer themselves alike to all;
「你有妓女的臉面,向眾人厚顏無恥。」因為正如那些出賣姿色的人,從額上刮盡了羞恥,向眾人一概獻媚;
1:240⧉ ⤴︎
οὕτω σὺ πρὸς οὐδένα τὴν εὔνοιαν δι εφύλαξας , ἀλλὰ τρυγῶσα μὲν παρ' ἐμοῦ τῶν ἀγαθῶν τὴν φορὰν , τοῖς εἰδώλοις ἐδούλευες
so didst thou preserve goodwill toward none, but while reaping from Me the bounty of good things, thou wast enslaved to the idols.
你也照樣對誰都不存善意,反倒一面從我這裡收取美物的豐盛,一面卻作偶像的奴僕。
1:241⧉ ⤴︎
Περιπίπτουσα δὲ συμφοραῖς , καὶ τῆς ἐκείνων ἀσθενείας αἰσθανομένη , τὴν ἐμὴν ἐξῄτεις βοήθειαν
But when falling into misfortunes and perceiving the weakness of those idols, thou wouldst seek My help.
然而當你陷入災難、察覺那些偶像的軟弱時,你便來求我的幫助。
1:242⧉ ⤴︎
Γενοῦ μοι εἰς Θεὸν ὑπερασπιστὴν , καὶ εἰς οἶκον καταφυγῆς τοῦ σῶσαί με
'Be Thou to me a protecting God, and a house of refuge to save me.'
「求你作我遮護的神,作我救我的避難之所。」
1:243⧉ ⤴︎
Μὴ διαμενεῖ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα; Ἀντὶ τοῦ , Τὸ ψεῦδός σου , καὶ τῶν ῥημάτων ἡ χλευασία
'Will it remain for ever?' Meaning: thy falsehood, and the mockery of thy words.
「這豈能長存到永遠麼?」意思是:你的虛謊,以及你言語的嘲弄。
1:244⧉ ⤴︎
Ἦ δια φυλαχθήσεται εἰς νῖκος; Ἦ νομίζεις διὰ τούτων περιγενέσθαι καὶ νικᾷν; Εἶτα εἰρωνικῶς·
'Or shall it be preserved unto victory?' Or dost thou think by these means to prevail and to conquer? Then ironically:
「這豈能保存得勝麼?」你豈以為藉這些能占上風、能得勝麼?接著又以反諷說:
1:245⧉ ⤴︎
Ἰδοὺ ἐλάλησας καὶ ἐποίησας τὰ πονηρὰ ταῦτα , καὶ ἠδυνή θης . Ἀντὶ τοῦ , Νόμισον κεχλευακέναι , καὶ δια πεφευγέναι τοιαῦτα παρανομῆσαι τολμήσασα
'Behold, thou hast spoken and done these evil things, and thou hast prevailed.' Meaning: Reckon that thou hast mocked and hast escaped, having dared to transgress in such ways.
「看哪,你既說了又行了這些惡事,竟然得逞了。」意思是:你就當作自己譏誚了、又逃脫了罷,你竟膽敢如此犯法。

Μετὰ δὲ ταῦτά φησι τὸν Θεὸν πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰρηκέναι ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Ἰωσίου τοῦ βασιλέως·
And after these things He says that God spoke to him in the days of Josiah the king:
在這些話之後,祂說神在約西亞王的日子曾對他說:

Εἶδες ἃ ἐποίησέ μοι ἡ κατοικία τοῦ Ἰσραήλ; Ἐπειδὴ ἀπῆσαν ἐκεῖνοι ( ἐδούλευον γὰρ ἐν Βαβυλῶνι ), τὸν προφήτην διδάσκει τῆς τιμωρίας τὸ δίκαιον
'Hast thou seen what the habitation of Israel did to Me?' Since those were absent (for they were in servitude in Babylon), He teaches the prophet the justice of the punishment.
「你看見以色列家向我所行的了麼?」因為那些人已不在了(他們正在巴比倫為奴),祂便向先知教導這刑罰的公義。
1:248⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐπορεύθη ἐπὶ πᾶν ὄρος ὑψηλὸν , καὶ ὑποκάτω παντὸς ξύλου ἀλσώδους , καὶ ἐπόρνευσεν ἐκεῖ . Ἔπειτα τὴν οἰκείαν ἀγαθότητα καὶ μακροθυμίαν δείκνυσιν
'She went upon every high mountain, and under every shady tree, and there played the harlot.' Then He shows His own goodness and long-suffering.
「她上到各高山,又到各青翠樹下,在那裡行淫。」接著祂顯明自己的良善與寬容。
1:249⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ εἶπον μετὰ τὸ πορνεῦσαι αὐτὴν ταῦτα , Πρός με ἀνάστρεψον , καὶ οὐκ ἀνέστρεψεν
'And I said after she had done all these things, Return unto Me; and she returned not.'
「她行了這一切之後,我說:你歸向我罷;她卻不歸回。」
1:250⧉ ⤴︎
Ἑκοῦσα τοίνυν τὸν ὄλεθρον ἐπεσπάσατο , μήτε ἀρχῆθεν τὴν κατὰ νόμον πολιτείαν ἀσπασαμένη , καὶ μετὰ τὴν ἀσέβειαν ἐπιστρέψαι μὴ βουληθεῖσα
Willingly, therefore, she drew destruction upon herself, having neither from the beginning embraced the polity according to the law, nor after the impiety been willing to turn back.
所以她是心甘情願地把毀滅招到自己身上,她既從起初就未曾擁抱那合乎律法的生活,在犯了不敬虔之後又不肯回轉。

Ἐντεῦθεν αὔξει τῆς Ἰούδα φυλῆς τὴν κατηγορίαν
From this point He heightens the accusation against the tribe of Judah.
從此他加重了對猶大支派的控告。

εἶδε τὴν ἀσυνθεσίαν αὐτῆς ἡ ἀσύν θετος Ἰούδα ἡ ἀδελφὴ αὐτῆς , καὶ εἶδε διότι περὶ πάντων ὧν κατελήφθη ἐν οἷς ἐμοιχᾶτο ἡ κατοικία τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ , καὶ ἐξαπέστειλα αὐτὴν , καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτῇ βιβλίον ἀποστασίου εἰς τὰς χεῖ ρας αὐτῆς
'Her faithless sister Judah saw her faithlessness, and saw that, for all the things in which the habitation of Israel was caught committing adultery, I sent her away and gave her a bill of divorcement into her hands.'
「她那不忠的姊妹猶大看見她的不忠,也看見我因以色列家在其中行姦淫、被拿住的一切事,就把她休了,並把休書交在她手中。」
1:253⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ οὐκ ἐφοβήθη ἡ ἀσύνθετος Ἰούδα , ἡ ἀδελφὴ αὐτῆς , καὶ ἐπορεύθη , καὶ ἐπόρνευσε καὶ αὐτή
'And her faithless sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot herself also.'
「她那不忠的姊妹猶大卻不懼怕,也去行淫。」
1:254⧉ ⤴︎
Θεασαμένη , φησὶ , καὶ τὴν πονηρίαν τῆς ἀδελφῆς αὐτῆς , καὶ τὴν διὰ ταύτης ἐπενεχθεῖσαν αὐτῇ τιμωρίαν , οὐκ ἔφυγε τῆς πονηρίας τὴν μίμη σιν·
Having beheld, He says, both the wickedness of her sister and the punishment brought upon her because of it, she did not flee the imitation of that wickedness;
祂說:她既看見了姊妹的邪惡,以及因此臨到姊妹的刑罰,卻沒有逃避對那邪惡的效法;

ἀλλὰ τοῖς ἐκείνης ἠκολούθησεν ἴχνεσιν
but followed in those footsteps of hers.
反倒踏著她的腳蹤而行。
1:256⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἐγένετο ἡ πορνεία αὐτῆς εἰς οὐθέν
'And her harlotry became as nothing.'
「她的淫行竟看為算不得什麼。」

Οὐδὲν γὰρ , φησὶ , παράνομον ποιεῖν ὑπελάμβανε·
For she supposed, He says, that she was doing nothing unlawful;

πορνείαν δὲ τὴν εἰδωλολατρείαν καλεῖ·
and by 'harlotry' He calls idolatry;
祂所稱的「淫行」乃是指拜偶像;

καταλιπόντες γὰρ τὸν Θεὸν , ὃς νυμφίος αὐτῶν ὠνομάζετο , τοῖς εἰδώλοις ἐλάτρευον
for having forsaken God, who was named their bridegroom, they served the idols.
因為他們離棄了那被稱為他們新郎的神,去事奉偶像。
1:260⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἐφονοκτόνει τὴν γῆν , θύουσα τὰ τέκνα τοῖς δαίμοσι·
And she defiled the land with murder, sacrificing her children to the demons;
她把兒女獻祭給鬼魔,用殺戮玷污那地;
1:261⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ ἐμοίχευσε τὸν λίθον καὶ τὸ ξύλον . Σαφῆ τὴν τῆς πορνείας κατηγορίαν εἰργάσατο
and she committed adultery with the stone and the wood. He rendered plain the accusation of harlotry.
她又與石頭和木頭行姦淫。祂把那淫行的控告說得清清楚楚。
1:262⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶτα διὰ πλειόνων διδάσκει , ὅτι οὐκ ἐβδελύξατο τῆς ἀδελφῆς τὴν ἀσέβειαν , τὴν πανωλεθρίαν θεασαμένη·
Then through more words He teaches that she did not abominate her sister's impiety, though she had beheld the utter destruction;
接著祂藉更多的話教導說:她雖看見了那徹底的毀滅,卻沒有憎惡姊妹的不敬虔;
1:263⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ ὅτι μᾶλλον ἔχουσί τινα συγγνώμην αἱ δέκα φυλαὶ , ἤπερ ἡ τοῦ Ἰούδα φυλὴ , ἐπειδὴ τὰς συμφορὰς ἐκείνων ἑωρακυῖα , τὰ αἴτια τῶν συμφορῶν διετέλεσε δρῶσα·
and that the ten tribes have some more excuse than the tribe of Judah, since Judah, having seen the misfortunes of those, persisted in doing the very causes of the misfortunes;
並且十支派比猶大支派倒還有幾分可原諒之處,因為猶大既看見了那些支派的災難,卻仍持續行那招致災難的緣由;
1:264⧉ ⤴︎
οὗ δὴ χάριν ἐκείνοις προθεσπίσαι ὁ προφήτης παρακελεύεται
for which reason the prophet is bidden to prophesy to those others.
為此緣故,先知奉命向那些人發預言。
1:265⧉ ⤴︎
Πορεύου γὰρ , φησὶ , καὶ ἀνάγνωθι τοὺς λό γους τούτους πρὸς βοῤῥᾶν , καὶ ἐρεῖς , Ἐπιστρά φηθι πρός με , ἡ κατοικία τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ , λέγει Κύριος
'For go,' He says, 'and read these words toward the north, and say, Return unto Me, O habitation of Israel, saith the Lord.'
祂說:「你去,向北方宣讀這些話,說:以色列家啊,你歸向我罷,這是耶和華說的。」
1:266⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ οὐ στηριῶ τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἐφ' ὑμᾶς , ὅτι ἐλεήμων εἰμὶ , λέγει Κύριος , καὶ οὐ μη νιῶ ὑμῖν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
'And I will not set My face against you, for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not be wroth with you for ever.'
「我必不向你們變臉,因為我是有憐憫的,這是耶和華說的,我也必不永遠向你們發怒。」
1:267⧉ ⤴︎
μετὰ γὰρ τὴν πολλὴν παρανομίαν μόνην ἐπιζητεῖ μεταμέλειαν·
for after the great transgression He seeks only repentance;
因為在那極大的過犯之後,祂所尋求的唯有悔改;
1:268⧉ ⤴︎
διδάσκει δὲ καὶ ταύτης τὸν τρόπον
and He teaches also the manner of this.
祂也教導這悔改的方式。
1:269⧉ ⤴︎
Πλὴν γνῶθι τὴν ἀδικίαν σου , ὅτι εἰς Κύ ριον τὸν Θεόν σου ἠσέβησας
'Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God.'
「只要承認你的罪孽,就是你干犯了耶和華你的神。」
1:270⧉ ⤴︎
Ἀρχὴ γὰρ ὑγείας αἴσθησις ἀῤῥωστίας
For the beginning of health is the perception of sickness.
因為健康的起頭乃是對疾病的知覺。
1:271⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ , Ἐξέχεας τὰς ὁδούς σου εἰς ἀλλοτρίους . Τὸν Θεὸν , καὶ Κύριον , καὶ ποιη τὴν , καὶ εὐεργέτην καταλιποῦσα , ἀλλοτρίοις συν ήφθης·
And, 'Thou hast poured out thy ways to strangers.' Having forsaken God and Lord and Maker and Benefactor, thou wast joined to strangers;
又說:「你把你的道路傾灑給外人。」你既離棄了那位是神、是主、是造物主、是施恩者的,就與外人結合;
1:272⧉ ⤴︎
τίνες δὲ οὗτοι; Ὑποκάτω παντὸς ξύλου ἀλσώδους . Ἔδειξε τῆς πλάνης τὸ ἀκερδές·
and who are these? 'Under every shady tree.' He showed the unprofitableness of the error;
這些是誰呢?就是「各青翠樹下」的。祂顯明了那迷誤的無益;

ἄκαρπα γὰρ τὰ θεοποιηθέντα φυτά
for the plants that were made into gods are fruitless.
因為那些被奉為神明的樹木是不結果子的。
1:274⧉ ⤴︎
Τῆς δὲ φωνῆς μου οὐχ ὑπήκουσας , λέγει Κύριος . Νομοθετῶν γὰρ εἶπεν , Οὐκ ἔσονταί σοι θεοὶ ἕτεροι πλὴν ἐμοῦ . ιδʹ
'But My voice thou didst not obey, saith the Lord.' For in giving the law He said, 'There shall be to thee no other gods besides Me.' (verse 14)
「你卻不聽從我的聲音,這是耶和華說的。」因為祂在頒布律法時說:「除我以外,你不可有別的神。」(第十四節)
1:275⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐπιστράφητε , υἱοὶ ἀφεστηκότες , λέγει Κύ ριος
'Return, ye backsliding sons, saith the Lord.'
「你們這些背道的兒女啊,回轉罷,這是耶和華說的。」
1:276⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἀποστάντας υἱοὺς ὀνομάζει , διὰ τὴν ἄῤῥητον αὐτοῦ ἀγαθότητα
And He names the apostate ones 'sons,' because of His unspeakable goodness.
祂稱那些背道的人為「兒女」,是因祂那難以言喻的良善。
1:277⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ λήψομαι ὑμᾶς ἕνα ἐκ πόλεως , καὶ δύο ἐκ πατριᾶς , καὶ εἰσάξω ὑμᾶς εἰς Σιών
'And I will take you, one out of a city, and two out of a family, and will bring you into Zion.'
「我必將你們從一城取一人,從一族取兩人,領你們到錫安。」
1:278⧉ ⤴︎
( ιεʹ .) Καὶ δώσω ὑμῖν ποιμένας κατὰ τὴν καρδίαν μου , καὶ ποιμανοῦσιν ὑμᾶς ποιμαίνοντες μετ' ἐπι στήμης
(verse 15) 'And I will give you shepherds after My own heart, and they shall shepherd you, feeding you with knowledge.'
(第十五節)「我必將合我心意的牧者賜給你們,他們必以知識牧養你們。」
1:279⧉ ⤴︎
Ταῦτα τυπικῶς μὲν ἐπὶ τοῦ Ζοροβάβελ ἐγένετο
These things came to pass typically in the case of Zerubbabel.
這些事在所羅巴伯身上是按預表應驗的。
1:280⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐπανῆλθον γὰρ ἐπὶ Κύρου τοῦ Πέρσου , ποιμένας ἔχοντες τὸν Ζοροβάβελ τὸν τοῦ Σαλαθιὴλ , καὶ Ἰησοῦν τὸν τοῦ Ἰωσεδὲκ τὸν ἱερέα τὸν μέγαν·
For they returned under Cyrus the Persian, having as shepherds Zerubbabel the son of Salathiel, and Jesus the son of Josedek the high priest;
因為他們在波斯王居魯士的時候歸回,有撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯、以及約薩答的兒子大祭司耶書亞作他們的牧者;
1:281⧉ ⤴︎
εὐσέβεια δὲ καὶ εὐνομία ἀμφοτέρους ἐκόσμει
And piety together with good order adorned them both.
敬虔與良好的秩序使他們二者皆得裝飾。
1:282⧉ ⤴︎
Κατὰ μέντοι τὴν ἀλήθειαν , μετὰ τὴν τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν ἐνανθρώπησιν ἡ προφητεία τέλος ἐδέξατο
In truth, however, it was after the incarnation of our God and Saviour that this prophecy received its fulfilment.
然而,按著真理而言,這預言乃是在我們的神與救主道成肉身之後,才得著應驗。
1:283⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ κατέστησεν αὐτοὺς ποιμένας κατὰ τὴν καρδίαν αὑτοῦ , τοὺς ἱεροὺς ἀπο στόλους
And He appointed them shepherds according to His own heart—the holy Apostles.
祂又照著自己的心意,立他們作牧人,就是那些神聖的使徒。
1:284⧉ ⤴︎
Σί μων Ἰωνᾶ , φιλεῖς με; Ποίμαινε τὰ πρόβατά μου . Καὶ ὅτι ταύτην ἔχει τὴν διάνοιαν ἡ προφητεία , τὰ ἑξῆς μαρτυρεῖ
'Simon son of Jonah, do you love Me? Feed My sheep.' And that the prophecy has this meaning, what follows bears witness.
「約拿的兒子西門,你愛我嗎?你餵養我的羊。」這預言正是這個含意,接下來的話便可作證。
1:285⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις , καὶ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ , καλέσουσι τὴν Ἱερουσαλὴμ θρό νον Κυρίου , καὶ συναχθήσεται εἰς αὐτὴν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τῷ ὀνόματι Κυρίου εἰς Ἱερουσαλήμ·
In those days and at that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord, and all the nations shall be gathered together unto it in the name of the Lord, unto Jerusalem;
當那些日子、那時候,人必稱耶路撒冷為耶和華的寶座;萬國必為耶和華的名聚集到耶路撒冷。
1:286⧉ ⤴︎
καὶ οὐ πορεύσονται ἔτι ὀπίσω τῶν ἐνθυμημάτων . τῆς καρδίας αὑτῶν τῆς πονηρᾶς
and they shall no longer walk after the imaginations of their evil heart.
他們也不再隨從自己那惡心中的意念而行。
1:287⧉ ⤴︎
Τοῦτο δὲ μετὰ τὴν ἀπὸ Βαβυλῶνος ἐπάνοδον οὐκ ἐγένετο·
But this did not come to pass after the return from Babylon;
但這事在從巴比倫歸回之後並未成就;

οὐ γὰρ κατέλιπε τὴν ἀσέβειαν τηνικαῦτα τὰ ἔθνη
for at that time the nations did not forsake their impiety.
因為那時列國並未離棄他們的不敬虔。
1:289⧉ ⤴︎
Μετὰ τὴν τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν ἐνανθρώπησιν , διεπόρ θμευσαν μὲν εἰς ἅπασαν τὴν οἰκουμένην οἱ θεῖοι ἀπό στολοι τὸ σωτήριον κήρυγμα·
After the incarnation of our God and Saviour, the divine Apostles carried the message of salvation across the whole inhabited world;
在我們的神與救主道成肉身之後,那些神聖的使徒將救恩的信息傳遍了普天下;
1:290⧉ ⤴︎
Ἱερουσαλὴμ συντρέχουσιν ἅπαντες
to Jerusalem all men run together.
眾人都一同奔向耶路撒冷。
1:291⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶτα διδάσκει ὡς μετὰ τὴν ἀπὸ Βαβυλῶνος ἐπάνοδον οὐκ έτι πάλιν αἱ φυλαὶ δίχα διαιρεθήσονται , ἀλλὰ κατὰ τὸ αὐτὸ ἐπανήξουσι , καὶ τὴν πατρῴαν καθέξουσι γῆν
Then he teaches that after the return from Babylon the tribes shall no longer be divided asunder, but shall return in one body and possess their ancestral land.
接著他教導說,從巴比倫歸回之後,眾支派必不再分裂為二,乃要一同歸回,得著他們祖先的地。
1:292⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶτα ὁ προφήτης ἐπὶ ταῖς χρησταῖς ἐπαγγε λίαις ἡσθείς φησι·
Then the prophet, delighting in these gracious promises, says:
然後先知因這些美好的應許而歡喜,說:
1:293⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ ἐγὼ εἶπον , Γένοιτο , Κύριε
And I said, So be it, O Lord.
我就說:「主啊,願如此成就。」
1:294⧉ ⤴︎
Ταῦτα ἐν μέσῳ εἰρηκὼς ὁ προφήτης , συμπεραίνει τὴν θείαν ἐπαγγελίαν
Having said these things in between, the prophet brings the divine promise to its conclusion.
先知在其間說了這些話之後,便將神的應許作了總結。
1:295⧉ ⤴︎
Ὅτι τάξω σε εἰς τέκνα . Πάλιν γὰρ , φησὶ , ἐμοὶ χρηματίσετε παῖδες
For 'I will set you among children'; for again, He says, you shall be called My children.
因為說:「我要使你列在兒女之中」;祂又說,你們要再被稱為我的兒女。
1:296⧉ ⤴︎
Καὶ δώσω σοι γῆν ἐκλεκτὴν , κληρονομίαν ὀνομαστὴν , Θεοῦ παν τοκράτορος ἐθνῶν . Τὴν γῆν τῆς ἐπαγγελίας οὕτως ἐκάλεσεν
And I will give you a choice land, a renowned inheritance of God the Almighty of the nations. Thus did He name the land of promise.
「我要賜給你美好之地,就是萬國之全能神所稱美的產業。」祂如此稱呼那應許之地。
1:297⧉ ⤴︎
Ἐθνῶν δὲ αὐτὸν Θεὸν ὠνόμασε παντοκράτορα , διδάσκων ὅτι πάντων ἐστὶ Θεὸς , καὶ πάντων δημιουργὸς , καὶ ὅτι καὶ τὰ ἔθνη τῆς θεογνω σίας ἀπολαύσονται , καὶ μεταβήσεται εἰς ἐκεῖνα ἡ χάρις τοῦ Πνεύματος
And He named Him the Almighty God of the nations, teaching that He is the God of all and the Maker of all, and that the nations too shall enjoy the knowledge of God, and that the grace of the Spirit shall pass over unto them.
祂又稱祂為列國全能的神,教導人說祂是萬有的神,是萬物的創造者,並且列國也必得享認識神的福分,聖靈的恩典也必臨到他們。
1:298⧉ ⤴︎
Μετὰ ταῦτα συμβουλεύει ἣν ἔχουσι παῖδες περὶ πατρὸς φιλοστοργίαν κτήσα σθαι , καὶ τῆς θείας ἀπολαῦσαι κηδεμονίας
After this He counsels them to acquire toward their Father the tender affection that children have, and to enjoy the divine care.
此後祂勸勉他們,要對父存著兒女所有的那種摯愛之情,並要得享神的看顧。
1:299⧉ ⤴︎
Εἶτα αἰτιᾶται , ὅτι γυναῖκα μοιχεύτριαν εἰς τὸν ἄνδρα παρανομοῦσαν ἐζήλωσαν , οὐ μόνον αἱ δέκα φυλαὶ , ἀλλὰ καὶ ἡ τοῦ Ἰούδα φυλὴ , καὶ τὰς πρὸς τὸν νυμφίον συνθήκας παρέβησαν·
Then He brings the charge that, like a wife committing adultery and transgressing against her husband, they had played the harlot—not only the ten tribes, but also the tribe of Judah—and had broken their covenant with the Bridegroom;
接著祂控告說,他們如同行淫的婦人,對丈夫犯了不法之事——不僅是那十個支派,連猶大支派也是如此——並且背棄了他們與新郎所立的盟約;
1:300⧉ ⤴︎
προλέγει δὲ καὶ τῶν δέκα φυλῶν τὴν μεταμέλειαν·
and He foretells also the repentance of the ten tribes;
祂也預言那十個支派要悔改;
1:301⧉ ⤴︎
αἴσθησιν γὰρ αὐταῖς τῆς παρανομίας ἡ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας ἐνέθηκε συμφορά
for the calamity of captivity had implanted in them an awareness of their transgression.
因為被擄的災禍在他們裡面生出對自己不法之事的覺悟。
