Πᾶς γὰρ πυρὶ ἁλισθήσεται . Καὶ γὰρ τὸν χρυσὸν τὸν δόκιμόν τε καὶ κίβδηλον τὸ πῦρ δοκιμάζει
For everyone shall be salted with fire. For indeed the fire tests both the genuine and the counterfeit gold.
因為凡人都要被火醃。因為那火確能試驗真金與假金。

Ῥομφαίαν δὲ καλεῖ τὴν τιμωρητικὴν ἐνέργειαν
And by 'sword' he calls the punitive operation.
祂稱那施行刑罰的作為為「刀劍」。

A river of fire went forth, drawing on before him. Many shall be the wounded by the Lord, those who purify and cleanse themselves in the gardens and in the porches;
有火河流出,在祂面前奔騰。被耶和華所擊傷的必有許多,就是那些在園中、在門廊裡潔淨自己、洗淨自己的人;

οἱ ἐσθίοντες κρέας ὕειον καὶ τὰ βδελύγματα καὶ τὸν μῦν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἀναλωθήσονται , λέγει κύριος , καὶ ἐγὼ τὸν λογισμὸν αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν ἐπίσταμαι καὶ ἀντα ποδώσω αὐτοῖς
those who eat swine's flesh and the abominations and the mouse shall be consumed together, says the Lord; and I know their reasoning and their works, and I will recompense them.
耶和華說,那些吃豬肉並可憎之物與老鼠的,必一同滅絕;我知道他們的意念和行為,並要向他們施行報應。

Τραυματίας καλεῖ τοὺς τῇ πονηρίᾳ παρα δεδομένους , ἁγνιζομένους δὲ καὶ καθαριζομένους ἐν κήποις καὶ ἐν προθύροις τοὺς ἀπολουσμοῖς κεχρημένους
By 'the wounded' he calls those given over to wickedness, and by those who purify and cleanse themselves in gardens and in porches, those who employ their ritual washings.
祂稱那些被交付於邪惡的人為「被擊傷的」,稱那些行洗濯之禮的人為在園中、在門廊裡潔淨並洗淨自己的人。

For this reason he made mention also of swine's flesh and of the other things forbidden by the law.

Ἀπαιτῶ δὲ αὐτοὺς τούτων φησὶν εὐθύνας , ἐπει δὴ τὸν σκοπὸν αὐτῶν ἀκριβῶς ἐπίσταμαι·
But I demand an accounting of them for these things, he says, since I accurately know their purpose;

ὡς γὰρ τῶν ἐμῶν προσταγμάτων | | καταφρονοῦντες τὰ νενομοθετημένα παρέβαινον
for as men despising my commandments they transgressed the things ordained by law.

Ἰδοὺ συναγαγεῖν ἔρχομαι πάντα τὰ ἔθνη καὶ τὰς γλώσσας , καὶ ἥξουσι καὶ ὄψονται τὴν δόξαν μου , καὶ καταλείψω ἐπ' αὐτῶν σημεῖον
Behold, I come to gather all the nations and the tongues, and they shall come and see my glory, and I will leave a sign upon them.
看哪,我來要聚集萬國萬族,他們必來看見我的榮耀,我也要在他們中間留下一個記號。

Σαφῶς δεδήλωκεν ὡς οὐ μόνης τῆς Ἰουδαίων ἕνεκα σωτηρίας ἀνέλαβε τὴν τοῦ δούλου μορφὴν ἀλλὰ πᾶσι τοῖς ἔθνεσι τὴν σωτηρίαν ὀρέγων
He has clearly shown that it was not for the sake of the salvation of the Jews alone that he took on the form of the servant, but reaching out salvation to all the nations.
祂已清楚地顯明,祂取了奴僕的形像,並不單是為了猶太人的救恩,乃是要將救恩伸展給萬國。

Σημεῖον δὲ καλεῖ τοῦ σωτηρίου σταυροῦ τὸν τύπον
And by 'sign' he calls the figure of the saving cross.

Καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ ἐξ αὐτῶν σεσωσμένους εἰς τὰ ἔθνη·
And I will send forth from among them those who are saved to the nations:

εἰς Θαρσὶς καὶ Φοὺδ καὶ Λοὺδ καὶ Μοσὸχ καὶ Θοβὲλ καὶ εἰς τὴν Ἑλλάδα καὶ εἰς τὰς νήσους τὰς πόρρω , αἳ οὐκ ἀκηκόασί μου τὸ ὄνομα οὐδὲ ἑωράκασί μου τὴν δόξαν , καὶ ἀναγγελοῦσι τὴν δόξαν μου ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν
to Tarshish and Phud and Lud and Mosoch and Thobel, and to Greece, and to the far-off islands, which have not heard my name nor seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.
到他施、弗、路德、米設、土巴,並希臘,以及那些從未聽過我名、未見過我榮耀的遠方海島去;他們必在列國中傳揚我的榮耀。

To the holy apostles the Master said:

Πορευθέντες μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη . Ἐπ' ἐκείνων ἡ προκειμένη προφητεία τὸ πέρας ἐδέξατο·
Go and make disciples of all the nations. In them the prophecy here set forth received its fulfilment;
你們要去,使萬民作我的門徒。此處所提出的預言正是在他們身上得著了成就;

ἐκεῖνοι γὰρ ἅπασι τοῖς ἔθνεσι τὸ θεῖον προσήνεγκαν κήρυγμα
for they offered the divine proclamation to all the nations.
因為他們將那神聖的宣講傳給了萬國。

Θαρσὶς δὲ καλεῖ τὴν Καρχηδόνα , τὴν τῆς Λιβύης μητρόπολιν , καὶ Φοὺδ αὐτὸ ἅπαν τῶν Λιβύων τὸ ἔθνος , Λοὺδ δὲ Λυδοὺς καὶ Μοσὸχ Καππαδόκας καὶ Θοβὲλ Ἴβηρας , λέγει δὲ καὶ τὴν Ἑλλάδα καὶ τὰς νήσους καὶ διὰ τούτων πάντα τὰ ἔθνη τὰ μήτε ἐγνωκότα τὸν τῶν ὅλων θεὸν μήτε πεῖραν αὐτοῦ τῆς δυνάμεως ἐσχηκότα
By 'Tarshish' he means Carthage, the metropolis of Libya; and by 'Phud' the whole nation of the Libyans themselves; by 'Lud' the Lydians; and by 'Mosoch' the Cappadocians; and by 'Thobel' the Iberians; and he speaks also of Greece and the islands, and through these of all the nations that had neither known the God of all nor had any experience of his power.
祂以「他施」指迦太基,就是利比亞的都會;以「弗」指利比亞人整個民族;以「路德」指呂底亞人;以「米設」指加帕多家人;以「土巴」指伊比利亞人;祂又提到希臘和眾海島,並藉著這些指那些既不認識萬有之神、也未曾經歷過祂能力的萬國。

Οὗτοι δέ φησιν ἄξουσι τούτους παρ' ἐμοῦ πεμπόμενοι·
But these, he says, being sent by me, shall bring those others:

Ἄξουσι τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν ἐκ πάντων τῶν ἐθνῶν δῶρον τῷ θεῷ μεθ' ἵππων καὶ ἁρμάτων ἐν λαμπήναις ἡμιόνων μετὰ σκιαδείων εἰς τὴν ἁγίαν πόλιν εἰς Ἱερουσαλήμ , εἶπε κύριος , ὡς ἂν εἰσενέγκοιεν οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ ἐμοὶ τὰς θυσίας αὐτῶν μετὰ ψαλμῶν εἰς τὸν οἶκον κυρίου·
They shall bring your brethren out of all the nations as a gift to God, with horses and chariots, in litters drawn by mules, with canopies, to the holy city, to Jerusalem, said the Lord — even as the sons of Israel would bring their sacrifices to me with psalms into the house of the Lord.
耶和華說:他們必將你們的弟兄從萬國中帶來,作為獻給神的禮物,用馬匹、車輦、騾子所拉的轎、並有涼篷,送到那聖城耶路撒冷,如同以色列人用詩歌將他們的祭物帶進耶和華的殿中一樣。

καὶ ἀπ' αὐτῶν λήψομαί μοι ἱερεῖς καὶ Λευίτας , εἶπε κύριος
'And from among them I will take for Myself priests and Levites,' says the Lord.
「我也要從他們中間揀選人作祭司、作利未人。」這是主說的。

Ἀδελφοὺς αὐτῶν καλεῖ τοὺς ἐξ ἐθνῶν πεπιστευκότας διὰ τὸ ὁμοφυὲς τῆς φύσεως
He calls those from among the nations who have come to faith their brethren, because of the common kinship of nature.
祂稱那些從外邦人中歸信的人為他們的弟兄,因為在本性上他們同屬一族。

Ἦσαν δὲ καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν Ἰουδαῖοι , καὶ ἐξ ἐθνῶν πλεῖστος ἐπίστευσεν ὅμιλος
For there were Jews also among the nations, and from among the nations a very great throng believed.
因為在外邦人中間也有猶太人,並且從外邦人中有極大的一群人信了。

Ἐκ τούτων ἦν Κρῖσπος ὁ ἀρχισυνάγωγος καὶ Σωσθένης πάλιν ἀρχισυνάγωγος , οἳ τῆς τοῦ θεσπεσίου Παύλου διδασκαλίας ἀπήλαυσαν , καὶ ἄλλοι δὲ μυρίοι ἔν τε Ἀντιοχίᾳ τῆς Πισιδίας καὶ Ἰκονίῳ καὶ Λύστροις κἀν ταῖς ἄλλαις πόλεσιν , οἳ τὴν σωτήριον διδασκαλίαν ἐδέξαντο
Of these was Crispus the ruler of the synagogue, and again Sosthenes another ruler of the synagogue, who enjoyed the teaching of the divinely-inspired Paul; and countless others besides, in Antioch of Pisidia and in Iconium and in Lystra and in the other cities, who received the saving teaching.
屬這一類的有管會堂的基利司布,還有同樣是管會堂的所提尼,他們都得蒙受了神所感的保羅的教訓;此外還有無數的人,在彼西底的安提阿、以哥念、路司得以及其他各城,領受了那使人得救的教訓。

Τούτους οἷόν τινα δῶρα τῷ θεῷ τῶν ὅλων προσήνεγκαν οἱ θεῖοι ἀπόστολοι μετά τινος ἀρρήτου τιμ ῆς
These the divine apostles offered as certain gifts to the God of all, with an unspeakable honour.
這些人,神聖的使徒們以某種難以言喻的尊榮,如同禮物一般,獻給了萬有的神。

τὴν ἐσομένην τιμὴν π αρεδή λωσεν , ἐπειδὴ ταῦτα παρ' ἀνθρώποις ἐστὶν ἀξιέραστα
He made plain the honour that was to come, since these things are held worthy of love among men.
祂顯明了那將要臨到的尊榮,因為這些事在人看來是可欽羨、可愛慕的。

Οὕτω καὶ ὁ θεῖος ἀπόστολος ἔφη ὅτι εἰς ἀέρα ἁρπαγησόμεθα
So too the divine apostle said that we shall be caught up into the air.
神聖的使徒也照樣說,我們必被提到空中。

Καὶ καθάπερ πάλαι ὁ Ἰσραὴλ τὰς κατὰ νόμον μοι θυσίας προσέφερεν ᾄδων τε καὶ χορεύων , οὕτω μοι τὰ λογικὰ ταῦτα προσοίσουσι θύματα τῆς ἀληθείας οἱ κήρυκες , ἐξ ὧν κατὰ τόνδε τὸν βίον ἱερέας τε καὶ Λευίτας χειροτονήσω
And just as of old Israel offered Me the sacrifices according to the law, with singing and dancing, so shall the heralds offer Me these rational sacrifices of the truth, from whom, throughout this present life, I shall ordain both priests and Levites.
正如以色列從前照著律法,一面歌唱一面舞蹈,向我獻上祭物,照樣,那些傳道的使者要向我獻上這些屬乎真理的、屬靈的祭物;我要從他們中間,在今生按立祭司和利未人。
1:6029⧉ ⤴︎
Τοῦτο δὲ σαφῶς ἔδειξε τήν τε Ἰουδαίων ἀποβολὴν καὶ τῶν ἐθνῶν τὴν κλῆσιν·
And this clearly showed both the casting away of the Jews and the calling of the nations;
這清楚地顯明了猶太人被棄絕,以及外邦人蒙召選;
1:6030⧉ ⤴︎
οὐκέτι γὰρ τοὺς ἐκ Λευὶ τὸ γένος κατάγοντας ἱερέας καλεῖ , ἀλλ' ἐκ τῶν πεπιστευκότων ἐθνῶν τούτους χειροτονεῖ
for He no longer calls those who trace their descent from Levi priests, but ordains these from among the nations who have believed.
因為祂不再稱那些出於利未一族的人為祭司,乃是從那些歸信的外邦人中按立這些人。

Ὃν τρόπον γὰρ ὁ οὐρανὸς καινὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ καινὴ ἃ ἐγὼ ποιῶ μενεῖ ἐναντίον ἐμοῦ , λέγει κύριος , οὕτως στήσεται τὸ σπέρμα ὑμῶν καὶ τὸ ὄνομα ὑμῶν
'For as the new heaven and the new earth, which I make, shall remain before Me,' says the Lord, 'so shall your seed and your name stand.'
「因為我所要造的新天新地怎樣在我面前長存,」主說,「你們的後裔和你們的名也必照樣長存。」

Ὥσπερ ἅπασαν τὴν ὁρωμένην μεταβαλὼν κτίσιν καινὴν ἀπεργάσομαι , οὕτως ὑμῶν ἀείμνηστον φυλάξω τὸ γένος , οὐχ ὑμῶν δὲ μόνων ἀλλὰ καὶ τῶν δι' ὑμῶν πεπιστευκότων
Just as, transforming all the visible creation, I will make it new, so will I keep your race in everlasting remembrance—and not yours alone, but also that of those who through you have come to faith.
正如我要更新一切可見的受造之物,使之成為新的,我也照樣要使你們這一族永被記念;不單是你們,也包括那些藉著你們而歸信的人。

Καὶ ἔσται μῆνα ἐκ μηνὸς καὶ σάββατον ἐκ σαββάτου ἥξει πᾶσα σὰρξ τοῦ προσκυνῆσαι ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ , εἶπε κύριος
'And it shall come to pass, from month to month and from sabbath to sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me in Jerusalem,' says the Lord.
「必有這事:從這月到那月,從這安息日到那安息日,凡有血氣的都必來到耶路撒冷,在我面前敬拜。」這是主說的。

Τὴν ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς διαγράφων πολιτείαν καὶ τῶν διαφόρων μονῶν ἐμνημόνευσε , περὶ ὧν ὁ κύριος εἶπεν·
Describing the polity in the heavens, he also made mention of the diverse mansions, concerning which the Lord said:
他描繪天上的城邦生活,也提到那許多不同的住處,就是主所說的:

Πολλαὶ μοναὶ παρὰ τῷ πατρί μου , τουτέστιν ἀξιωμάτων διαφοραί
'In My Father's house are many mansions'—that is, differences of dignities.
「在我父的家裏有許多住處」——也就是說,各種尊榮品位的差別。

Τούτους λέγει διὰ παντὸς ἑορτάζοντας ἀγάλλεσθαι καὶ χορεύειν·
These, he says, keep festival continually, rejoicing and dancing;
他說,這些人不斷地守節歡慶,歡欣鼓舞,跳舞歌唱;

μῆνα γὰρ καὶ σάββατον τὰς ἑορτὰς ὀνομάζει , ἐν ταύταις γὰρ ἑώρταζον Ἰουδαῖοι·
for by 'month' and 'sabbath' he names the feasts, since it was on these that the Jews used to hold festival;
因為他用「月」和「安息日」來指稱節期,因為猶太人正是在這些日子守節的;

| | Ὡς εὐφραινομένων πάντων ἡ κατοικία ἐν σοί , καί·
as in, 'The dwelling of all that rejoice is in thee,' and again:

Φωνὴ ἀγαλλιάσεως καὶ σωτηρίας ἐν σκηναῖς δικαίων . Καὶ ἐξελεύσονται καὶ ὄψονται τὰ κῶλα τῶν ἀνθρώπων τῶν παραβεβηκότων ἐν ἐμοί
'The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous. And they shall go forth and look upon the carcasses of the men who have transgressed against Me.'
「在義人的帳棚裏有歡呼拯救的聲音。他們必出去觀看那些背逆我之人的屍首。」

Ἔδειξε κἀν τοῖς θείοις εὐαγγελίοις ὡς καὶ ὁ Λάζαρος ἑώρα τοῦ πλουσίου τὴν κόλασιν , κἀκεῖνος τοῦ Λαζάρου τὴν εὐφροσύνην
He showed this also in the divine Gospels, how Lazarus beheld the rich man's torment, and that man beheld Lazarus's gladness.
祂在神聖的福音書中也顯明了這事,就是拉撒路看見那財主的痛苦,而那財主也看見拉撒路的喜樂。

Οὕτω καὶ διὰ τοῦ θεσπεσίου Ζαχαρίου φησίν·
So too through the divinely-inspired Zechariah He says:

Ὄψονταί με σὺν ᾧ ἐξεκέντησαν , τουτέστι μεθ' ο ὗ προσήλωσαν σώματος·
'They shall look upon Me whom they pierced'—that is, together with the body that they nailed to the cross;
「他們必仰望我,就是他們所扎的」——也就是說,連同他們所釘十字架的那身體;

οὐ γὰρ ἐμὲ ἐξεκέντησαν ἀλλ' ὃ ἐνδέδυμαι σῶμα
for it was not I whom they pierced, but the body with which I am clothed.

Ὁ γὰρ σκώληξ αὐτῶν οὐ τελευτήσει , καὶ τὸ πῦρ αὐτῶν οὐ σβεσθήσεται , καὶ ἔσονται εἰς ἱκανὸν ὁρᾶν πάσῃ σαρκί
'For their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be a spectacle for all flesh to behold.'
「因為他們的蟲是不死的,他們的火是不滅的;他們必成為凡有血氣之人觀看的景象。」

Τὸ διηνεκὲς τῆς τιμωρίας διὰ τούτων δεδήλωκεν·
By these words He has made plain the perpetuity of the punishment;
祂藉著這些話語顯明了刑罰的永久性;

καὶ γὰρ τὸ πῦρ ἄσβεστον καὶ ὁ σκώληξ ἀτελεύτητος
for the fire is unquenchable and the worm is undying.
因為那火是不滅的,那蟲是不死的。

Ταύτην ἠπείλησεν ἐκείνοις τὴν τιμωρίαν , οὐκ ἐκείνοις δὲ μόνοις ἀλλὰ καὶ τοῖς τοὺς θείους αὐτοῦ παραβαίνουσι νόμους
This punishment He threatened against those men—yet not against them alone, but also against those who transgress His divine laws.
這刑罰,祂是向那些人發出的威嚇——然而不單是向他們,也是向那些違背祂神聖律法的人。

οὕτω γὰρ τοῦ χοροῦ τῶν εὐφραινομένων ἐσόμεθα
for in this way we shall belong to the choir of those who rejoice.

Ταῦτα κατὰ τὸ μέτρον τῆς δοθείσης ἡμῖν γνώσεως ἡρ μηνεύσ αμεν καὶ τὸ προφητικὸν ἀνεπτύξαμεν γράμμα
These things we have interpreted according to the measure of the knowledge given to us, and we have unfolded the prophetic writing.
這些事,我們是照著所賜給我們知識的分量加以解釋,並且展開了這先知的著作。

Ὑμεῖς δὲ οἱ ἐντυγχάνοντες , εἰ μὲν εὕροιτέ τι τῶν πό νων ἄξιον , τὸν τούτων χορηγὸν ἀνυμνήσατε·
But you who read, if you should find anything worthy of the labour, praise the One who supplies these things;
至於你們這些讀者,你們若尋得任何配得上這番勞苦的內容,就當讚美那位賜下這一切的主;

εἰ δὲ τῆς ὑποσχέσεως ἀποδέουσαν τὴν σαφήνειαν , τὸν σκοπὸν ἀποδεξάμενοι δότε συγγνώμην καὶ τὸ εὑρισκόμενον συλλέγοντες κέρδος ἱκετείαν τῶν πόνων ἀμείψασθε , ἵνα σὺν ὑμῖν καὶ ἡμεῖς τὴν ἀξιάγαστον ἐκείνην καὶ τριπόθητον ἴδωμεν πόλιν ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ τῷ κυρίῳ ἡμῶν , μεθ' οὗ τῷ πατρὶ ἡ δόξα σὺν τῷ παναγίῳ πνεύματι ν ῦν καὶ ἀεὶ καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων
but if the clarity falls short of what was promised, accept the intention and grant pardon; and gathering up whatever profit is to be found, repay the labours with your intercession, that together with you we too may behold that admirable and thrice-longed-for city in Christ Jesus our Lord, with whom to the Father be glory, together with the all-holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages.
但你們若覺得所講的清晰之處未及所應許的,就求你們體諒我的用意,予以寬恕;並且採集其中所尋得的一切益處,用你們的代求來報答這番勞苦,好叫我們也能與你們一同得見那可欽羨、令人再三渴慕的城,在我們的主基督耶穌裏;願榮耀藉著祂歸與父,並歸與至聖的靈,從今直到永永遠遠。
