ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

Of the Egyptians there are accurate records of times; and the interpreter of the affairs among them is Ptolemy—not the king, but a priest of Mendes. This man, setting forth the deeds of the kings, says that in the time of Amosis king of Egypt the departure of the Jews from Egypt took place, into whatever regions they came, with Moses as their leader. And he speaks thus: "Now Amosis lived in the time of king Inachus." And after this Apion the grammarian, a most esteemed man, in the fourth book of his Egyptian Histories (and there are five writings by him), says among many other things that "Amosis razed Avaris, having lived in the time of the Argive Inachus, as Ptolemy of Mendes recorded in his Chronicles." And the time from Inachus until the capture of Ilium completes twenty generations. And the demonstration is of this manner.
