Καὶ ἐπεῖδεν ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου ἐν τοῖς ἐχθροῖς μου
And my eye has looked upon my enemies.
我的眼也看見了我的仇敵遭報。
1:5108⧉ ⤴︎
Ἔσται μοι τοῦτο μετὰ τῶν ἄλλων καλῶν , τὸ θεατήν με γενέσθαι πιπτόντων τῶν ἐπιβούλων μου τῆς ψυχῆς
This too shall be mine, along with the other good things: to become a spectator of the fall of those who plot against my soul.
在其他美好的事之外,這也要臨到我:就是親眼目睹那些謀害我靈魂之人的傾倒。

Πεφυτευμένοι ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ Κυρίου
Planted in the house of the Lord.

Οὗτοι δὲ , φη σὶν , οἱ τούτοις ἀπεικασμένοι τοῖς κέδροις , φυτουργὸν μὲν ἔχουσι τὸν Θεὸν , παράδεισον δὲ τὸν θεῖον νεών
These, he says, who are likened to these cedars, have God as their planter, and the divine temple as their paradise.
他說:這些被比作香柏樹的人,以神為栽種他們的園丁,以神聖的殿宇為他們的樂園。

Ἐν ταῖς αὐλαῖς τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἀνθήσουσιν
In the courts of our God they shall flourish.

Ἔτι πληθυνθήσονται ἐν γήρᾳ πίονι , καὶ εὐ παθοῦντες ἔσονται
They shall yet increase in a rich old age, and shall be well off.

Τὸ , εὐπαθοῦντες , ἀντὶ τοῦ , εὖ πάσχοντες

For there shall be given to them what eye has not seen, and ear has not heard.

For the Lord our God is upright.

Ἐπειδὰν ἐν ταῖς ἄνω μοναῖς γενόμενοι ἀπολαύωσι τὰ ἡτοιμα σμένα ἀγαθὰ , τότε δὴ τότε καὶ ταύτην ἀναγγελοῦσι τὴν φωνὴν , ὡς δίκαιος καὶ εὐθὴς ἔσται ὁ Κύριος , ὃς τοὺς μὲν παρανόμους καὶ ἀσεβεῖς δίκην χόρτου ἀπο ξηρανθῆναι παρεσκεύασε·
When they have come to be in the mansions above and enjoy the good things prepared for them, then indeed, then, they will proclaim this word as well: that the Lord is just and upright, who caused the lawless and impious to be dried up like grass;
「當他們進入上面的居所、享受所預備的美善之時,那時、正是那時,他們必宣揚這話:主是公義正直的,祂使違法不敬虔的人如草枯乾;」

τοὺς δὲ δικαίους καὶ εὐσε βεῖς οἷα κέδρους καὶ φοίνικας ἐν ταῖς ἄνω κατεφύτευσε σκηναῖς
but the righteous and pious he planted like cedars and palm trees in the tabernacles above.
「卻使義人和敬虔的人如香柏樹和棕樹,栽種在上面的帳幕中。」

Ἀδικία οὐκ ἔστι παρὰ τῷ Θεῷ , διὰ τὸ εἶναι αὐτὸν κακίας ἀνεπίδεκτον
There is no unrighteousness with God, because he is incapable of admitting evil.

Εἰς τὸ Σάββατον ἐν τῷ προλαβόντι ψαλμῷ δηλοῦται ἡ δευτέρα παρουσία τοῦ Κυρίου , καθ' ἣν καὶ βα σιλεύσει τοῦ νέου αἰῶνος μετὰ τῶν ἁγίων αὐτοῦ
'Concerning the Sabbath': in the preceding psalm the second coming of the Lord is made manifest, according to which he will also reign over the new age together with his saints.
「『論安息日』:在前一篇詩篇中,已顯明主的第二次降臨,按此祂將與祂的聖徒一同治理那新的世代。」

Ὁ Κύριος ἐβασίλευσεν , εὐπρέπειαν ἐνεδύσατο
The Lord has reigned, he has clothed himself with majesty.

Ἐπειδὴ τὸ ἀνθρώπινον γένος , ἀποστὰν τῆς ὑπὸ Θεοῦ βασιλείας , ὑπὸ τὴν τυραννίδα γέγονε τοῦ Σατανᾶ , τούτου χάριν ἐπεδήμησεν ὁ Μονογενὴς , ἵνα πάλιν αὐτὸ τοῖς ἰδίοις ὑποτάξῃ σκήπτροις , ὃ καὶ ἐγένετο·
Since the human race, having fallen away from the kingdom that is under God, came to be under the tyranny of Satan, for this reason the Only-begotten sojourned among us, so that he might again subject it to his own scepters — which indeed came to pass;

By 'the majesty of God' he means the salvation of the human race itself.

Εἰ μὴ γὰρ σεσάρκωται , τὴν ἡμετέραν δίχα τῆς ἁμαρτίας λαβὼν φύσιν , δηλονότι οὐκ ἂν ἡμῖν ἡ σωτηρία ἐγένετο
For if he had not become incarnate, taking our nature apart from sin, clearly salvation would not have come to us.
「因為若非祂道成肉身,取了我們無罪的本性,救恩顯然不會臨到我們。」

Ἐνεδύσατο Κύριος δύναμιν καὶ περιεζώσατο
The Lord has clothed himself with power and girded himself.
「耶和華以能力為衣,束上帶子。」

Καὶ γὰρ ἐστερέωσε τὴν οἰκουμένην , ἥτις οὐ σαλευθήσε ται
For indeed he has established the world, which shall not be shaken.
「因為祂堅立了世界,使它不致動搖。」

Ἐκείνους προανελὼν , τοὺς ἀντικειμένους δηλον ότι δαίμονας , ἔστησεν ἐπὶ πέτραν τὴν Ἐκκλησίαν , ἧς οὐδὲ αὐταὶ κατισχύσουσιν αἱ τοῦ ᾅδου πύλαι
Having beforehand destroyed those — namely, the opposing demons — he established the Church upon a rock, against which not even the gates of Hades themselves shall prevail.
「祂預先除滅了那些對頭——顯然是指眾魔鬼——並將教會建立在磐石之上,就是陰間的門也不能勝過它。」

Ἕτοιμος ὁ θρόνος σου ἀπὸ τότε
Your throne is prepared from of old.
「你的寶座從那時起已然堅立。」

Τοῦτό φησι , διὰ τὸ προωρίσασθαι ἀπὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου τὴν τοῦ ἀν θρωπίνου γένους σωτηρίαν ἐσομένην διὰ τῆς σωτη ρίας αὐτοῦ
He says this because from the foundation of the world it had been foreordained that the salvation of the human race would come to be through his salvation.
「他這樣說,是因為從創世以來,人類的救恩就已預定要藉著祂的救贖而實現。」

Θρόνον γὰρ τὴν εἰς τὸ κρίνειν τοὺς ἀδι κήσαντας ἡμᾶς δαίμονας·
For by 'throne' he means the authority for judging the demons who have wronged us;

ἀνάστασιν δὲ σημαίνει τοῦ Μονογενοῦς
and he signifies the resurrection of the Only-begotten.

Ἐπῆραν οἱ ποταμοὶ , Κύριε , ἐπῆραν οἱ ποταμοὶ φωνὰς αὐτῶν
The rivers have lifted up, O Lord, the rivers have lifted up their voices.
「耶和華啊,大水揚起,大水發聲。」

Ποταμοὺς ἐνταῦθα τοὺς ἁγίους ἀπο στόλους καὶ εὐαγγελιστάς φησιν , οἳ καὶ τὴν τοῦ Θεοῦ Ἐκκλησίαν τοῖς πνευματικοῖς κατεύφραναν νάμασιν
Here by 'rivers' he means the holy apostles and evangelists, who also gladdened the Church of God with spiritual streams.
「此處『大水』指的是聖使徒和傳福音者,他們以屬靈的活水使神的教會歡欣喜樂。」

Ποταμοὶ ἐκ τῆς κοιλίας αὐτοῦ ῥεύσουσιν ὕδατος ζῶντος
Rivers of living water shall flow from his belly.

Wonderful are the surgings of the sea.

Αἱ πολλαὶ , φησὶ , μυσταγωγίαι , καὶ τὰ νοήματα τῶν ἀποστόλων καὶ εὐαγγελιστῶν νάματα , θαυμαστοὺς πεποίηκε τῆς θαλάσσης τοὺς μετεωρισμούς
The many initiations into the mysteries, he says, and the streams that are the thoughts of the apostles and evangelists, have made the surgings of the sea wonderful.
「他說,眾多的奧祕啟示,以及使徒與傳福音者思想的活流,使海的洶湧澎湃變得奇妙。」

Θάλασ σαν δὲ λέγει τῶν ἐθνῶν τῶν πιστευσάντων τὰ πλήθη , ὧν καὶ οἱ μετεωρισμοὶ , τουτέστιν αἱ ὑψώσεις τοῦ φρονήματος , θαυμασταὶ γεγόνασιν
By 'sea' he means the multitudes of the nations who believed, whose surgings — that is, the exaltations of their mind — have become wonderful.
「所謂『海』,是指信主之外邦人的群眾;他們心思的洶湧澎湃,也就是心志的高昂,變得奇妙。」

Οὐκέτι γὰρ μι κρὰ καὶ ταπεινὰ φρονοῦσι περὶ Θεοῦ , ἀλλὰ μεγάλα καὶ θαυμαστά
For they no longer think small and lowly things about God, but great and wonderful things.
「因為他們對神的想法不再卑微低下,而是宏大而奇妙的。」

Τὰ μαρτύριά σου ἐπιστώθησαν σφόδρα
Your testimonies are made very sure.
「你的法度極其堅定可信。」

Μαρ τύρια τὰς ἐπαγγελίας φησὶν ἃς διὰ τῶν ἁγίων προ φητῶν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ἐπηγγείλατο , ἃς καὶ πιστὰς ἐπ' ἐσχάτων ἐπεδείξατο τῶν ἡμερῶν , τῇ οἰκείᾳ παρουσίᾳ ἔργῳ πληρῶν
By 'testimonies' he means the promises which he promised to the nations through the holy prophets, which he also showed to be faithful in the last days, fulfilling them in deed by his own coming.
「所謂『法度』,是指祂藉眾聖先知向萬邦所應許的諾言;祂在末後的日子藉著自己的降臨,以實際行動成就這些應許,顯明其為信實可靠。」

Τῷ οἴκῳ σου πρέπει ἁγίασμα , Κύ ριε
Holiness befits your house, O Lord.
「耶和華啊,聖潔是你殿宇所當有的。」

Οἶκος μὲν αὐτοῦ ἡ Ἐκκλησία , πρέπει δ' αὐτῇ τὸ ἁγία εἶναι , ἅτε τὸν μόνον ἅγιον ἔχουσα ἐνοικοῦντα·
His house is the Church, and it befits her to be holy, since she has dwelling within her the only Holy One;
「祂的殿宇就是教會,聖潔正合乎教會,因她裡面居住著那獨一的聖者;」

ἐπειδὰν δὲ τοῦτο γένηται , καὶ ἀτελευτήτου μεταλα βοῦσα ἀπολαύσει τοῦ ἁγιάσματος
and when this comes to pass, she, having partaken of it, shall also enjoy unending sanctification.
「而當此事成就之時,教會既已分享聖潔,便要享受那無窮無盡的成聖之樂。」

Τὸν περὶ προνοίας ἐν τούτῳ εἰσάγει λόγον , διδάσκων μὴ θλίβεσθαι καὶ ἀδημονεῖν , κἂν εἰ πρὸς καιρὸν γένοιτο καὶ τοῖς ἁμαρτάνουσιν εὐημερία , καὶ τοῖς εὐσεβέσι διωγμός
In this he introduces the discourse concerning providence, teaching that one should not be grieved and distressed, even if for a time prosperity should come to sinners, and persecution to the pious;
「在此他引出關於天佑的論述,教導人不要因罪人一時亨通、敬虔者遭受逼迫而憂傷不安;」

τοῖς μὲν ἡ θλίψις εἰς αἰώ νιον ἀπόλαυσιν ἀγαθῶν , τοῖς δὲ μετὰ τὸ δοκοῦν τὰ χρηστὰ εἰς ἀτελευτήτους αἰῶνας ἡ κόλασις
for to the latter, affliction leads to eternal enjoyment of good things, while for the former, after their seeming prosperity, punishment awaits for unending ages.
「因為對後者而言,患難要換得永恆美善的享受;而對前者而言,那看似的美景過後,等待他們的乃是無盡永世的刑罰。」

Τε τράδα δὲ Σαββάτων ἐπιγέγραπται , διὰ τὸ ἐν τῷ τετάρτῳ μηνί·
It is entitled 'For the fourth day of the week,' because in the fourth month —

ἀντὶ γὰρ τοῦ μηνὸς τὴν ἡμέραν τέθεικεν ἐν ᾗ τῇ τοῦ Θεοῦ πόλει τὴν ἀρχὴν γενέ σθαι τῶν συμφορῶν , ἐν τούτῳ ἐπιστρατευσάντων Βαβυλωνίων , ὡς Ἱερεμίας ἱστορεῖ
for instead of the month he has set down the day on which the beginning of calamities came upon the city of God, the Babylonians having made their expedition in that month, as Jeremiah records.
「因為他以『日』代替『月』,指明神的城遭遇災難之始的那一天;巴比倫人便是在那個月出兵征伐,正如耶利米書所記載的。」

Θεὸς ἐκδικήσεων Κύριος , ὁ Θεὸς ἐκδικήσεων ἐπαῤῥησιάσατο
The Lord is a God of vengeance; the God of vengeance has spoken openly.
「耶和華是施報應的神,施報應的神已顯明發言。」

Ὥσπερ Θεὸς οἰκτίρμων ἐστὶ , καὶ Θεὸς παρακλήσεων , οὕτω καὶ Θεὸς ἐκδικήσεων
Just as he is a compassionate God, and a God of consolations, so also is he a God of vengeance.
「正如祂是滿有憐憫的神,是施安慰的神,同樣祂也是施報應的神。」

Καὶ πάλιν , τοῦτο δὲ ἐν προοιμίῳ παραμυθίαν μεγάλην τοῖς ἐκ τῶν θλίψεων ἀκηδιάσασιν ἀπεργαζόμενος
And again, in this proem he produces great comfort for those who have grown despondent from afflictions.
「再者,他在此開篇中,為那些因患難而灰心喪志的人成就了極大的安慰。」

Τὸ δὲ , ἐπαῤῥησιάσατο , τὴν μετὰ ταῦτα ἐπὶ τοῦ θείου δικαστηρίου γενομένην ἀπόφασιν κατὰ τῶν ἀσεβῶν δηλοῖ , ᾗ φησι·
The phrase 'has spoken openly' signifies the sentence which afterward comes to pass at the divine tribunal against the impious, in which he says:
「『顯明發言』一詞,是指日後在神聖審判臺前對不敬虔者所作的判決,其中祂說:」

Πορεύεσθε ἀπ' ἐμοῦ , οἱ κατηραμέ νοι
Depart from me, you who are cursed.

Ἀπόδος ἀνταπόδοσιν τοῖς ὑπερηφάνοις
Render recompense to the proud.
「求你向驕傲人施行報應。」

Εὐ χὴν ὑπὲρ τῶν θλιβομένων ἀναπέμπει , αἰτῶν αὐτοῖς ἐπικουρίαν τὴν παρὰ τοῦ μόνου ἰσχύοντος Θεοῦ
He sends up a prayer on behalf of those afflicted, asking for them the aid that comes from God alone who is mighty.
「他為受苦的人獻上禱告,為他們祈求那唯一大能之神所賜的幫助。」

Ἕως πότε ἁμαρτωλοὶ καυχήσονται; Τὴν σφο δρὰν ἀμνησικακίαν καὶ ὑπερβάλλουσαν διὰ τούτων κατασημαίνει τοῦ Θεοῦ
'How long shall sinners boast?' Through these words he signifies God's intense and surpassing freedom from resentment.
「『惡人誇勝要到幾時呢?』藉此話,他標示出神那極深且超乎尋常的不記仇之忍耐。」

Τὸν λαόν σου , Κύριε , ἐταπείνωσαν
They have humbled your people, O Lord.
「耶和華啊,他們苦待你的百姓。」

Εἰς ζῆλον τὸν κατὰ τῶν ἐχθρῶν διεγείρει τὸν Θεὸν , λαὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ κληρονομίαν εἶναι λέγων τὴν κακουμένην παρὰ τῶν ἐχθρῶν
He stirs God up to zeal against the enemies, saying that the one being ill-treated by the enemies is his people and inheritance.
「他激起神對仇敵的義怒,宣稱那被仇敵苦害的正是神的百姓、神的產業。」

Χήραν καὶ ὀρφανὸν ἀπέκτειναν
They have slain the widow and the orphan.
「他們殺害了寡婦和孤兒。」

Τούτων εἴρηται ἡ ἑρμηνεία ἐν τῷ ἀνωτέρῳ στίχῳ , ὅμως λεχθήσεται καὶ αὖθις
The interpretation of these has been given in the verse above, yet it shall be stated again.

Χήραν ψυχὴν καὶ προσήλυτον νοῦν ἀπο κτείνει ὁ κακῶς τὰς θείας Γραφὰς ἐξηγούμενος
He who wrongly interprets the divine Scriptures kills the widowed soul and the proselyte mind.
「錯誤解釋神聖經文的人,殺害的是那如寡婦般的靈魂和如寄居者般的心智。」

Ὀρ φανὸς δέ ἐστι νοῦς ἐστερημένος οὐρανίου Πατρός
And the orphan is a mind bereft of the heavenly Father.

Κύριος γινώσκει τοὺς διαλογισμοὺς τῶν ἀνθρώ πων , ὅτι εἰσὶ μάταιοι
The Lord knows the thoughts of men, that they are vain.
「耶和華知道人的意念是虛妄的。」

Πῶς γὰρ οὔκ εἰσι ματαιό τητος πλήρεις αἱ αἰσθήσεις ἐκεῖναι , αἱ τῆς προνοίας τὸ ὠφέλιμον ἐξορίζειν ἐπιχειροῦσαι τοῦ λόγου; Μακάριος ἄνθρωπος ὃν ἂν παιδεύσῃς , Κύριε
For how are those perceptions not full of vanity, which attempt to banish the beneficial reasoning of providence? Blessed is the man whom you shall discipline, O Lord.
「那些企圖摒除天佑之道理益處的見解,豈不是充滿了虛妄?耶和華啊,你所管教的人是有福的。」

Ἐκεῖνοι μὲν ἄθλιοι καὶ ταπεινοὶ , φησὶν , οἱ τὴν σὴν μὴ δεχόμενοι παιδείαν
Those, he says, are wretched and lowly, who do not receive your discipline.
「他說,那些不接受你管教的人,才是可悲卑賤的。」

Μακάριοι δὲ οἱ παρὰ σοῦ παιδευ θέντες , καὶ ἐκ τοῦ σοῦ διδαχθέντες νόμου
But blessed are those disciplined by you, and taught out of your law.
「但那些蒙你管教、並從你律法中受教的人,是有福的。」

Οὗτοι γὰρ δὴ καὶ ἐν ταῖς θλίψεσι πραϋνθέντες κουφισθήσονται τῶν ἀνιαρῶν , εἰδότες , ὅτι αἱ θλίψεις εἰς ἀγαθὸν τελευτῶσαι ἐκβήσονται
For these indeed, being made gentle even in afflictions, shall be relieved of their distresses, knowing that afflictions come to an end in good.
「因為這些人即使在患難中也變得溫柔,必得減輕痛苦,因為他們知道患難終將歸於美善。」

Ἡμέρας πονηρὰς τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς κρίσεως λέγει
By 'evil days' he means the days of judgment.
「所謂『患難的日子』,是指審判的日子。」

Ἕως οὗ ὠρυγῇ τῷ ἁμαρτωλῷ βόθρος
Until a pit be dug for the sinner.

Μέχρι τοσούτου , φησὶν , οἱ παιδευθέντες θαῤῥοῦντες ὑπομε νοῦσι τὰς θλίψεις , μέχρις οὗ τῷ ἁμαρτωλῷ ὠρυγῇ βόθρος , τουτέστιν , εἰς τὸ ἡτοιμασμένον αὐτῷ κολα στήριον ὁ ἁμαρτωλὸς βαδίσῃ
To this extent, he says, those who have been disciplined shall endure afflictions with confidence, until a pit be dug for the sinner — that is, until the sinner walks into the place of punishment prepared for him.

By 'sinner' he means Satan, or indeed every hostile power.

Ὅτι οὐκ ἀπώσεται Κύριος τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ Τοῦτο ἐκείνου ἂν εἴη ἀπόδοσις τοῦ εἰρημένου ἐν τοῖς ἀνωτέρω·
'For the Lord will not cast off his people.' This would be the answer to what was said above:

They have humbled your people, O Lord, and afflicted your inheritance.

And he will not abandon his inheritance.

And when righteousness — that is, Christ — is seated for this, all who are upright in heart shall become near to her, according to the saying, 'For these shall see God.'

'Who will become my ally against those who work evil against me?' Then, he says, having quickly perceived his Helper, he adds that his soul would long ago have been brought down into Hades, had he not obtained the support that comes from God.

Because, then, the throne of iniquity shall not be joined to you — that is, because you are a righteous judge, as God is, and there shall be no iniquity in your judgments;
既然如此,「不義的座位必不與你相連」,意思就是:你是公義的審判者,正如神一樣,在你的判決中必沒有不義;

this would be the adversary demon, who makes God's commandments, though light, into heavy burdens, thereby furnishing men with toils from them.

showing that he will hearken, if they come to him, seeing that he himself is the Maker, and loves his own work.

the true rest is the release that comes after this world, the dwelling in the mansions above.

In the psalm before this one, having pronounced the rejection of the Jews, should they persist in unbelief, in this one he introduces the calling of the nations, which came to pass after the release from their spiritual captivity, at the time when also the Church was founded throughout the whole world.

This especially exhorts the nations to the fear of the Lord, since they had seen the conflagration that came upon those once called their gods.

'Holiness and majesty are in his sanctuary.'

and to offer these up in his divine courts, that is, in the churches.

For he came and judged our cause, and cast out the wicked tyrants — that is, he says, the unclean demons.

By 'islands' he means the churches, seeing that they are indeed buffeted by every wind, and moreover surrounded by the briny circumstances of this world.

Cloud and darkness are round about him.

Fire shall go before him.

By 'mountains' he means the hostile powers, which indeed melted away like wax before the fire mentioned above.
他所說的「諸山」是指那些敵對的權勢,它們確實在前面所提的那火面前,如蠟一般消融。

What the north wind congeals, the south wind melts;

Let all those who worship carved images be put to shame;

By 'the daughters of Judea' he means the holy souls, joined to God through confession, who exulted because of the judgments of God, seeing, that is, the tyrants cast out, and those held fast in slavery brought into freedom.

And for the upright in heart there is gladness;

His own right hand has wrought salvation for him.

It has therefore been moved from its former state, that is, from idolatry.

The rivers shall clap their hands together.

That is, plainly, the angelic powers.

For there is joy over one sinner who repents.

This too signifies the kingship of Christ, and the arrogance of the chief priests.

The Lord has reigned; let the peoples tremble.

Αὐτὸς γὰρ οὗτος ὁ βα σιλεύσων ἐπ' ἐσχάτων τῶν χρόνων τῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐστιν , ὁ καὶ τοῖς χερουβὶμ ἐποχούμενος , ὑφ' οὗ καὶ ἐσαλεύθη ἡ γῆ
For this very one is he who was to reign in the last times over those upon the earth, who also rides upon the cherubim, by whom also the earth was shaken.
因為這一位正是那要在末後的時代作王,管治地上之人的那位;祂也乘駕在基路伯之上,地也因祂而震動。

Σὺ εἶ ἐπὶ τῶν χερουβὶμ , ὁ καὶ τὴν ἐπὶ κακῷ στάσιν μετακινήσας τῆς γῆς , γεγονὼς καθ' ἡμᾶς
You are he who is upon the cherubim, you who removed the earth's fixed condition of evil, having become like us.
你是坐在基路伯之上的那位,你成了與我們一樣的人,除去了大地陷於邪惡的境況。

Στάσιν οὖν λέγει τὴν τῆς εἰδω λολατρείας
By 'condition,' then, he means the condition of idolatry.

Zion is the Church, in which Christ is glorified and exalted, according to what is said:

Ὑψώσω σε , ὁ Θεός μου , ὁ βασιλεύς μου
"I will exalt you, my God, my King."

"Let them give thanks to your great name."

Great again is the name that is above every name, to which every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Ὅτι φοβερὸν καὶ ἅγιόν ἐστι
For it is fearful and holy.

Fearful indeed against the peoples who are angered and do not accept his kingdom;

but holy to those who believe in him.

"And the honor of the king loves judgment."

Since the honor, that is, the glory, of the king loves righteousness, which is interpreted through judgment;
因為王的尊榮,也就是祂的榮耀,喜愛公義,而公義是藉著審判來彰顯的;

τούτου χάριν τοῖς μὲν ἀπειθήσασι τὸ πρόσταγμα αὐ τοῦ φοβερὸν , τοῖς δὲ ὑπακούουσιν ἅγιον
for this reason his commandment is fearful to those who disobey, but holy to those who obey.
因此,祂的命令對悖逆的人是可畏的,對順從的人卻是聖的。

Ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ γὰρ μέλλει κρίνειν τὴν οἰκουμένην
For he is about to judge the world in righteousness.

"Exalt the Lord our God."

He who is exalted as God, and has all creation beneath his feet, became man without change.
那位身為神而崇高、使全被造之物伏在祂腳下的那位,卻不改變地成了人。

Τοῦτον οὖν , φησὶ , τὸν γενό μενον ἀτρέπτως ἄνθρωπον ὑψοῦτε , προσκυνοῦντες αὐτὸν μιᾷ προσκυνήσει μετὰ τῆς ἰδίας σαρκός
This one, then, he says, who unchangeably became man, exalt, worshiping him with a single act of worship together with his own flesh.
所以,他說,你們要尊崇這一位不改變地成為人的那位,以同一個敬拜,連同祂自己的肉身一起敬拜祂。

whom of old Moses, Aaron, and Samuel also invoked.

Εἰπὼν οὖν , ὅτι Προσκυνεῖτε τῷ ὑποποδίῳ , καὶ τὴν ἐνανθρώπησιν καὶ τὴν οἰκονομίαν κηρύξας , πάλιν ἀσφαλιζόμενος ἡμᾶς , τὴν θεότητα σημαίνει διὰ τοῦ δηλωθέντος ὄρους
Having said, then, 'Worship at his footstool,' and having proclaimed both the incarnation and the economy, he again, for our security, signifies the deity through the mountain that was indicated.
因此,他既說了「當敬拜祂的腳凳」,宣告了道成肉身與救贖的計劃之後,又再一次為要堅固我們,藉著所指明的那座山來表明祂的神性。

For he remained God, even though he took the form of a servant for the sake of our salvation.

"Lord our God, you heard them."

Even if they seemed to sin somewhat, as men do, you did not overlook it, he says.

Thus Aaron was reproved for sinning concerning the calf, and Moses concerning the water of contradiction.

"And worship at his holy mountain."

"A stone was cut out from a mountain without hands."

In this psalm he brings an exhortation to those who have already come to the faith, that they should offer up thanksgivings for the things that have already come to pass.

Now those who were redeemed were the whole human race.

For by 'earth' he means those who dwell upon the earth.

Now servitude to men produces a destructive fear, but servitude to the Lord produces a pure fear, from which gladness comes to the soul.

He who has already received in his mind the gladness of the joyful shout, this one, as though standing before Christ, rejoices with joy, and this is exultation.
那已經在心中領受了歡呼之喜樂的人,就如同站在基督面前一樣,滿心歡喜快樂,這就是「歡然踴躍」。

"Know that the Lord himself is our God."

For we did not come into being of ourselves, but we are the work of his hands.

So that 'the people' are the more rational, while 'the sheep' are those who hold the less rational rank, and who are without experience of the divine oracles, according to what is said:

Some indeed as his people — the better ones;

but others as sheep of his pasture — those who are of a lesser rank.

Nevertheless, being God and maker of all, he calls all and makes them his own.

"For God saves men and beasts;"

the former as his people, the latter as sheep of his pasture.

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving."

Πύλας τοῦ Κυρίου τὴν ἐπὶ γῆς Ἐκ κλησίαν φησὶν , ἐν ᾗ ἐξομολογεῖσθαι δεῖ , ἅτε πρό τερον ἐξαγγέλλοντες τὰ ἁμαρτήματα , τάς τε εἰς ἡμᾶς γενομένας ἀφηγεῖσθαι εὐεργεσίας
By 'the gates of the Lord' he means the Church on earth, in which one must give thanks, first declaring one's sins, and recounting the benefits that have come to us.

In this psalm he depicts for us the perfect man, the one who lives according to God, teaching us what manner of conduct those who desire to attain the kingdom of heaven must practice.

Ἔλεον καὶ κρίσιν ᾄσομαί σοι , Κύριε

Continually bearing these things on my mouth, he says, which I know have been rightly accomplished for us, judgment — that is, righteous judgment — will be given.

For he vindicated our cause against our enemies.

The counsels of the devil, since they have nothing upright in them, are both crooked and perverted — things which I have never admitted into my heart.

In this way, he says, I took no account whatsoever of the wicked, so much so that I was ignorant of both their presence and their absence;

And it is a proof of a mind devoted to God to take no account of the things below, because of attentiveness to the things above.
而對下界之事毫不在意,正是心志專注於神、因專注於上界之事而生的明證。

Whoever secretly slandered his neighbor, him I drove away.

I did not admit accusations made in secret, but drove away those who attempted to do this.
凡暗中提出的控告,我都不接納,反而驅逐那些企圖這樣做的人。

Ὑπερηφάνῳ ὀφθαλμῷ καὶ ἀπλήστῳ καρδίᾳ , τούτῳ οὐ συνήσθιον
With one who had a haughty eye and an insatiable heart, I would not eat together.

My eyes are upon the faithful of the land, that they may sit with me.
我的眼目看顧地上的信實人,使他們可以與我同坐。

Συνεδρίων δέ μοι καὶ βουλῆς ἐκοινώνουν οἱ πίστει κοσμούμενοι , καὶ περὶ πολλοῦ τὰ θεῖα ποιούμενοι
Those adorned with faith, and who held divine things in high regard, shared with me in councils and counsel.
凡以信德為裝飾、又極其看重神聖事物的人,都與我一同參與議事與謀劃。

Οἱ δὲ μὴ οὕτως διακείμενοι , ἀλλὰ τἀναντία φρονοῦντες ὑπερηφανείᾳ λέγω καὶ ἀδικίᾳ καὶ ἐξουδενώσει , πόῤῥω ἀπέβαλον ἀπ' ἐμοῦ , ὥστε μὴ ὁρᾷν αὐτούς
But those not so disposed, but thinking the contrary—I mean in arrogance, injustice, and contempt—I cast far away from me, so that I would not even see them.
至於那些心懷相反、意念不同的人——我是指懷有驕傲、不義與輕蔑的人——我就把他們遠遠地拋棄,甚至不再看見他們。

By 'sinners' he means the wicked thoughts, which he chastised by his morning prayers and his steadfast attendance upon God.
所謂「罪人」,是指那些邪惡的意念;他藉著清晨的禱告,以及對神殷勤的守候,來懲治這些意念。

By 'the city of the Lord' he means the holy soul, according to what is said:

A prayer for the poor man, when he grows faint, and pours out his supplication before the Lord.
這是為那困苦人所作的禱告,當他心力交瘁、在主面前傾訴自己懇求的時候。

'His'—that is, the people's—sending up petitions with fasting and tears, so that the people too might be shown mercy.

He also proclaims the calling of the nations, which took place at the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ.

因為我的年日消逝如煙,我的骨頭枯乾如柴薪。

For all their strength, by which the practices of worship according to the Law held together, has been corrupted and destroyed.

And these were: the high priesthood, the temple, the sacrifices offered by means of animals, and the nation's autonomy.

I have become like a night-raven in a ruined dwelling.

He says this because of the darkness that had overtaken the people.

Τί δὲ τοῦ νυκτικόρακος ἀλλ' ἢ τοῦ βοᾷν κατὰ τὰς νύκτας ἴδιον , ὅθεν ταύτην τὴν προσ ηγορίαν ἔλαχεν; Ἐπειδὴ τοίνυν παννύχιον ἐποίει προσευχόμενος , ἀναγκαίως ἑαυτὸν παραβάλλει τῷ νυκτικόρακι
And what is peculiar to the night-raven except crying out through the nights, whence it got this name? Since, then, he prayed all night long, he necessarily compares himself to the night-raven.
鴟鴞有何特性,豈不就是夜間鳴叫,因而得了這個名稱嗎?既然他徹夜禱告不輟,便理所當然地把自己比作鴟鴞。

Ἠγρύπνησα καὶ ἐγενόμην ὡς στρουθίον μο νάζον ἐπὶ δώματι
I have kept watch, and become like a sparrow alone upon the housetop.
我儆醒不寐,變成如屋頂上孤單的麻雀。

I, he says, who was not overtaken at the time of sin, was left so utterly alone that I resembled even a single sparrow.
他說:我這未曾在犯罪之時被擄獲的人,竟被撇下得如此孤單,以致好比一隻孤雀。

ἀπὸ γὰρ μυριάδων τοσούτων , εἰ καὶ πλείους ἦσαν οἱ σωζόμενοι , ἑνὶ ἂν παρεβάλοντο ὡς πρὸς τὰς μυριάδας
For out of so many myriads, even if those being saved were more numerous, they would still be as one in comparison to the myriads.
因為就算得救的人數再多,相較於那千千萬萬的人,也不過如同一人而已。

I became a laughingstock to those ill-disposed toward me;

You will feed us with the bread of tears.

But if even the time for food was full of anguish, scarcely indeed would any other time have been free from suffering.
倘若連進食的時候都充滿了痛苦,那麼其餘的時候恐怕更難擺脫這苦難了。

And those who praised me swore against me.

For I have eaten ashes like bread.

He signifies either the misfortunes suffered in the captivity, or the hardship they endured on behalf of the people, that it might be shown mercy.

He says its days are those of the worship according to the Law, which is also called a shadow of the good things to come.

By 'stones' he means those who believed in Christ after the resurrection, and who became holy stones, according to the word of Zechariah:

And by 'servants' he means the holy apostles, through whom those who believed in Christ were saved.

And by 'dust' he means the peoples who still live in a more earthbound manner, and who even now do not believe; and he says that they too are worthy of mercy.

Fittingly, between the delighting in the stones of the former people, he attaches the calling of the nations.
他恰如其分地在論及先前那民喜悅石頭之事後,緊接著提到萬邦的蒙召。

Καὶ πάντες οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς τὴν δόξαν σου
And all the kings of the earth shall fear your glory.
地上的君王都要敬畏你的榮耀。

Οἱ βασιλεῖς ἀντὶ τοῦ , αἱ βασιλεῖαι
'Kings' instead of 'kingdoms.'
