1:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ דְּבַר ־יְהֹוָ֣ה ׀ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֗ה אֶל ־צְפַנְיָה֙ בֶּן ־כּוּשִׁ֣י בֶן ־גְּדַלְיָ֔ה בֶּן ־אֲמַרְיָ֖ה בֶּן ־חִזְקִיָּ֑ה בִּימֵ֛י יֹאשִׁיָּ֥הוּ בֶן ־אָמ֖וֹן מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה ׃
λόγος κυρίου ὃς ἐγενήθη πρὸς Σοφονιαν τὸν τοῦ Χουσι υἱὸν Γοδολιου τοῦ Αμαριου τοῦ Εζεκιου ἐν ἡμέραις Ιωσιου υἱοῦ Αμων βασιλέως Ιουδα
Verbum Domini quod factum est ad Sophoniam , filium Chusi , filii Godoliae , filii Amariae , filii Ezeciae , in diebus Josiae , filii Amon , regis Judae .
ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘኮነ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሰፎንያስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ኲስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ጎዶልያ ፡ አሞራዊ ፡ ዘሴዴቅያ ፡ በመዋዕለ ፡ ኢዮሰያስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ አሞጽ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ይሁዳ ።
Yahweh’s word which came to Zephaniah, the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah.
1:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ אָסֹ֨ף אָסֵ֜ף כֹּ֗ל מֵעַ֛ל פְּנֵ֥י הָאֲדָמָ֖ה נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃
ἐκλείψει ἐκλιπέτω πάντα ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς λέγει κύριος
Congregans congregabo omnia a facie terrae , dicit Dominus :
ኀሊቀ ፡ የኀልቅ ፡ እግገጸ ፡ ምድር ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
I will utterly sweep away everything from the surface of the earth, says Yahweh.
1:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ אָסֵ֨ף אָדָ֜ם וּבְהֵמָ֗ה אָסֵ֤ף עוֹף ־הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ וּדְגֵ֣י הַיָּ֔ם וְהַמַּכְשֵׁל֖וֹת אֶת ־הָרְשָׁעִ֑ים וְהִכְרַתִּ֣י אֶת ־הָאָדָ֗ם מֵעַ֛ל פְּנֵ֥י הָאֲדָמָ֖ה נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃
ἐκλιπέτω ἄνθρωπος καὶ κτήνη ἐκλιπέτω τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ οἱ ἰχθύες τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ ἐξαρῶ τοὺς ἀνθρώπους ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς λέγει κύριος
congregans hominem et pecus , congregans volatilia caeli et pisces maris : et ruinae impiorum erunt , et disperdam homines a facie terrae , dicit Dominus .
የኀልቅ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ወእንስሳ ፡ ወየኀልቁ ፡ አዕዋፈ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ወዓሳተ ፡ ባሕር ፡ ዋይደክሙ ፡ ኃጥኦነ ፡ ወአጠፍኦሙ ፡ ለዓማፅያን ፡ ምገጸ ፡ ምድር ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
I will sweep away man and animal. I will sweep away the birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and the heaps of rubble with the wicked. I will cut off man from the surface of the earth, says Yahweh.
1:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְנָטִ֤יתִי יָדִי֙ עַל ־יְהוּדָ֔ה וְעַ֖ל כׇּל ־יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְהִכְרַתִּ֞י מִן ־הַמָּק֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ אֶת ־שְׁאָ֣ר הַבַּ֔עַל אֶת ־שֵׁ֥ם הַכְּמָרִ֖ים עִם ־הַכֹּהֲנִֽים ׃
καὶ ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ Ιουδαν καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐξαρῶ ἐκ τοῦ τόπου τούτου τὰ ὀνόματα τῆς Βααλ καὶ τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν ἱερέων
Et extendam manum meam super Judam et super omnes habitantes Jerusalem : et disperdam de loco hoc reliquias Baal , et nomina aedituorum cum sacerdotibus ;
ወአነስእ ፡ እዴየ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ኲሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ወእስዕሮሙ ፡ እምዝንቱ ፡ ብሔር ፡ አስማሆሙ ፡ ለበዓል ፡ ዋኣስማተ ፡ ማርያን ።
I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place—the name of the idolatrous and pagan priests,
1:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֶת ־הַמִּשְׁתַּחֲוִ֥ים עַל ־הַגַּגּ֖וֹת לִצְבָ֣א הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְאֶת ־הַמִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוִים֙ הַנִּשְׁבָּעִ֣ים לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה וְהַנִּשְׁבָּעִ֖ים בְּמַלְכָּֽם ׃
καὶ τοὺς προσκυνοῦντας ἐπὶ τὰ δώματα τῇ στρατιᾷ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τοὺς ὀμνύοντας κατὰ τοῦ κυρίου καὶ τοὺς ὀμνύοντας κατὰ τοῦ βασιλέως αὐτῶν
et eos qui adorant super tecta militiam caeli , et adorant et jurant in Domino , et jurant in Melchom ;
ወእለ ፡ ይሰግዱ ፡ ለሰገዱ ፡ ለከከዋክበተ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ በአንሕስት ፡ ወእለ ፡ ይምሕሉ ፡ በስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ንጉሶሙ ።
those who worship the army of the sky on the housetops, those who worship and swear by Yahweh and also swear by Malcam,
1:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֶת ־הַנְּסוֹגִ֖ים מֵאַחֲרֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וַאֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא ־בִקְשׁ֥וּ אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א דְרָשֻֽׁהוּ ׃
καὶ τοὺς ἐκκλίνοντας ἀπὸ τοῦ κυρίου καὶ τοὺς μὴ ζητήσαντας τὸν κύριον καὶ τοὺς μὴ ἀντεχομένους τοῦ κυρίου
et qui avertuntur de post tergum Domini , et qui non quaesierunt Dominum , nec investigaverunt eum .
ወእለ ፡ ይትገሐሱ ፡ እምግዚአብሔር ፡ ወእለ ፡ ኢይትኤዘዙ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
those who have turned back from following Yahweh, and those who haven’t sought Yahweh nor inquired after him.
1:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַ֕ס מִפְּנֵ֖י אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה כִּ֤י קָרוֹב֙ י֣וֹם יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּֽי ־הֵכִ֧ין יְהֹוָ֛ה זֶ֖בַח הִקְדִּ֥ישׁ קְרֻאָֽיו ׃
εὐλαβεῖσθε ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ διότι ἐγγὺς ἡ ἡμέρα τοῦ κυρίου ὅτι ἡτοίμακεν κύριος τὴν θυσίαν αὐτοῦ ἡγίακεν τοὺς κλητοὺς αὐτοῦ
Silete a facie Domini Dei , quia juxta est dies Domini : quia praeparavit Dominus hostiam ; sanctificavit vocatos suos .
ፍርሁ ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ገጹ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስመ ፡ አልጸቀት ፡ ዕለተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እስመ ፡ አስተዳወ ፡ አግዚአበሔር ፡ መስዋዕቶ ፡ ወቀደሶሙ ፡ ለኀሩያኒሁ ።
Be silent at the presence of the Lord Yahweh, for the day of Yahweh is at hand. For Yahweh has prepared a sacrifice. He has consecrated his guests.
1:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֗ה בְּיוֹם֙ זֶ֣בַח יְהֹוָ֔ה וּפָקַדְתִּ֥י עַל ־הַשָּׂרִ֖ים וְעַל ־בְּנֵ֣י הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְעַ֥ל כׇּל ־הַלֹּבְשִׁ֖ים מַלְבּ֥וּשׁ נׇכְרִֽי ׃
καὶ ἔσται ἐν ἡμέρᾳ θυσίας κυρίου καὶ ἐκδικήσω ἐπὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ἐνδεδυμένους ἐνδύματα ἀλλότρια
Et erit : in die hostiae Domini , visitabo super principes , et super filios regis , et super omnes qui induti sunt veste peregrina ;
ወይከውን ፡ በእለተ ፡ መስዋዕቱ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ውትቤቀሎሙ ፡ ለመላክት ፡ ወለቤተ ፡ ነጉስ ፡ ወልኲሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ለብሱ ፡ አልባሰ ፡ ነኪር ።
It will happen in the day of Yahweh’s sacrifice that I will punish the princes, the king’s sons, and all those who are clothed with foreign clothing.
1:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּפָקַדְתִּ֗י עַ֧ל כׇּל ־הַדּוֹלֵ֛ג עַל ־הַמִּפְתָּ֖ן בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא הַֽמְמַלְאִ֛ים בֵּ֥ית אֲדֹנֵיהֶ֖ם חָמָ֥ס וּמִרְמָֽה ׃
καὶ ἐκδικήσω ἐπὶ πάντας ἐμφανῶς ἐπὶ τὰ πρόπυλα ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τοὺς πληροῦντας τὸν οἶκον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶν ἀσεβείας καὶ δόλου
et visitabo super omnem qui arroganter ingreditur super limen in die illa , qui complent domum Domini Dei sui iniquitate et dolo .
ወእትቤቀሎሙ ፡ ለኲሎሙ ፡ ገሀደ ፡ ባውስተ ፡ አናቅጽ ፡ ይእተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ እለ ፡ የመልኡ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኮሙ ፡ ዓመፃ ፡ ወጽልሑተ ።
In that day, I will punish all those who leap over the threshold, who fill their master’s house with violence and deceit.
1:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָה֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָ֗ה ק֤וֹל צְעָקָה֙ מִשַּׁ֣עַר הַדָּגִ֔ים וִֽילָלָ֖ה מִן ־הַמִּשְׁנֶ֑ה וְשֶׁ֥בֶר גָּד֖וֹל מֵהַגְּבָעֽוֹת ׃
καὶ ἔσται ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ λέγει κύριος φωνὴ κραυγῆς ἀπὸ πύλης ἀποκεντούντων καὶ ὀλολυγμὸς ἀπὸ τῆς δευτέρας καὶ συντριμμὸς μέγας ἀπὸ τῶν βουνῶν
Et erit in die illa , dicit Dominus , vox clamoris a porta piscium , et ululatus a Secunda , et contritio magna a collibus .
ወይከውን ፡ ይእቲ ፡ እለት ፡ ይበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ቃለ ፡ አውያት ፡ ምአናቅጽ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ይወግኡ ፡ ወውውዓ ፡ እምውስተጥ ፡ ወቀትል ፡ ዓቢይ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አውግር ።
In that day, says Yahweh, there will be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.
1:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֵילִ֖ילוּ יֹשְׁבֵ֣י הַמַּכְתֵּ֑שׁ כִּ֤י נִדְמָה֙ כׇּל ־עַ֣ם כְּנַ֔עַן נִכְרְת֖וּ כׇּל ־נְטִ֥ילֵי כָֽסֶף ׃ {ס}
θρηνήσατε οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν κατακεκομμένην ὅτι ὡμοιώθη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς Χανααν ἐξωλεθρεύθησαν πάντες οἱ ἐπηρμένοι ἀργυρίῳ
Ululate , habitatores Pilae : conticuit omnis populus Chanaan , disperierunt omnes involuti argento .
ብክዩ ፡ እለ ፡ ትነብሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቅትል ፡ እስመ ፡ ይመስሉ ፡ ኲሉ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ከናን ፡ ወተሠረዉ ፡ ኰሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ይትዔበዩ ፡ በወርቅ ።
Wail, you inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the people of Canaan are undone! All those who were loaded with silver are cut off.
1:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָה֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא אֲחַפֵּ֥שׂ אֶת ־יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בַּנֵּר֑וֹת וּפָקַדְתִּ֣י עַל ־הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים הַקֹּֽפְאִים֙ עַל ־שִׁמְרֵיהֶ֔ם הָאֹֽמְרִים֙ בִּלְבָבָ֔ם לֹא ־יֵיטִ֥יב יְהֹוָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א יָרֵֽעַ ׃
καὶ ἔσται ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐξερευνήσω τὴν Ιερουσαλημ μετὰ λύχνου καὶ ἐκδικήσω ἐπὶ τοὺς ἄνδρας τοὺς καταφρονοῦντας ἐπὶ τὰ φυλάγματα αὐτῶν οἱ λέγοντες ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ ἀγαθοποιήσῃ κύριος οὐδ’ οὐ μὴ κακώσῃ
Et erit in tempore illo : scrutabor Jerusalem in lucernis , et visitabo super viros defixos in faecibus suis , qui dicunt in cordibus suis : Non faciet bene Dominus , et non faciet male .
ወይከውነ ፡ ይእተ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እፈትና ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም ፡ በምሀቶተ ፡ ጥበብ ፡ ወእትቤቀለሙ ፡ ለዕደው ፡ እለ ፡ ያስተሐቅሩ ፡ ሕጎሙ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብሉ ፡ ኢያሤኒ ፡ ወኢያሐስም ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
It will happen at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I will punish the men who are settled on their dregs, who say in their heart, “Yahweh will not do good, neither will he do evil.”
1:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֤ה חֵילָם֙ לִמְשִׁסָּ֔ה וּבָתֵּיהֶ֖ם לִשְׁמָמָ֑ה וּבָנ֤וּ בָתִּים֙ וְלֹ֣א יֵשֵׁ֔בוּ וְנָטְע֣וּ כְרָמִ֔ים וְלֹ֥א יִשְׁתּ֖וּ אֶת ־יֵינָֽם ׃
καὶ ἔσται ἡ δύναμις αὐτῶν εἰς διαρπαγὴν καὶ οἱ οἶκοι αὐτῶν εἰς ἀφανισμόν καὶ οἰκοδομήσουσιν οἰκίας καὶ οὐ μὴ κατοικήσουσιν ἐν αὐταῖς καὶ καταφυτεύσουσιν ἀμπελῶνας καὶ οὐ μὴ πίωσιν τὸν οἶνον αὐτῶν
Et erit fortitudo eorum in direptionem , et domus eorum in desertum : et aedificabunt domos , et non habitabunt ; et plantabunt vineas , et non bibent vinum earum .
ወየኀስር ፡ ኃይሎሙ ፡ ወይትበረበራ ፡ አብያቲሆሙ ። ወየሐንጹጹ ፡ እብያተ ፡ ወኢይነብርዎን ፡ ወይተክሉ ፡ ወይነ ፡ ወኢይሰትይዎ ።
Their wealth will become a plunder, and their houses a desolation. Yes, they will build houses, but won’t inhabit them. They will plant vineyards, but won’t drink their wine.
1:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ קָר֤וֹב יוֹם ־יְהֹוָה֙ הַגָּד֔וֹל קָר֖וֹב וּמַהֵ֣ר מְאֹ֑ד ק֚וֹל י֣וֹם יְהֹוָ֔ה מַ֥ר צֹרֵ֖חַ שָׁ֥ם גִּבּֽוֹר ׃
ὅτι ἐγγὺς ἡ ἡμέρα κυρίου ἡ μεγάλη ἐγγὺς καὶ ταχεῖα σφόδρα φωνὴ ἡμέρας κυρίου πικρὰ καὶ σκληρά τέτακται δυνατή
Juxta est dies Domini magnus : juxta est , et velox nimis . Vox diei Domini amara : tribulabitur ibi fortis .
እስመ ፡ አልጸቀት ፡ ዕለተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዓባይ ፡ ቀርበት ፡ ወአፍጠነት ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ድምፃ ፡ ለዕለተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ መራር ፡ ውእኪት ።
The great day of Yahweh is near. It is near and hurries greatly, the voice of the day of Yahweh. The mighty man cries there bitterly.
1:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ י֥וֹם עֶבְרָ֖ה הַיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא י֧וֹם צָרָ֣ה וּמְצוּקָ֗ה י֤וֹם שֹׁאָה֙ וּמְשׁוֹאָ֔ה י֥וֹם חֹ֙שֶׁךְ֙ וַאֲפֵלָ֔ה י֥וֹם עָנָ֖ן וַעֲרָפֶֽל ׃
ἡμέρα ὀργῆς ἡ ἡμέρα ἐκείνη ἡμέρα θλίψεως καὶ ἀνάγκης ἡμέρα ἀωρίας καὶ ἀφανισμοῦ ἡμέρα σκότους καὶ γνόφου ἡμέρα νεφέλης καὶ ὁμίχλης
Dies irae dies illa , dies tribulationis et angustiae , dies calamitatis et miseriae , dies tenebrarum et caliginis , dies nebulae et turbinis ,
ጽንዕት ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ መንሱት ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ሕማም ፡ ወምንዳቤ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ምምዓ ፡ ወሙስና ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ጽልመት ፡ ወቆባር ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ደመና ፡ ወጊሜ ።
That day is a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,
1:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ י֥וֹם שׁוֹפָ֖ר וּתְרוּעָ֑ה עַ֚ל הֶעָרִ֣ים הַבְּצֻר֔וֹת וְעַ֖ל הַפִּנּ֥וֹת הַגְּבֹהֽוֹת ׃
ἡμέρα σάλπιγγος καὶ κραυγῆς ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις τὰς ὀχυρὰς καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς γωνίας τὰς ὑψηλάς
dies tubae et clangoris super civitates munitas , et super angulos excelsos .
ዕለተ ፡ ቀርን ፡ ወውውዓ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ጽኑዓት ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ በሐውርት ፡ ልዑላት ።
a day of the trumpet and alarm against the fortified cities and against the high battlements.
1:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַהֲצֵרֹ֣תִי לָאָדָ֗ם וְהָֽלְכוּ֙ כַּֽעִוְרִ֔ים כִּ֥י לַֽיהֹוָ֖ה חָטָ֑אוּ וְשֻׁפַּ֤ךְ דָּמָם֙ כֶּעָפָ֔ר וּלְחֻמָ֖ם כַּגְּלָלִֽים ׃
καὶ ἐκθλίψω τοὺς ἀνθρώπους καὶ πορεύσονται ὡς τυφλοί ὅτι τῷ κυρίῳ ἐξήμαρτον καὶ ἐκχεεῖ τὸ αἷμα αὐτῶν ὡς χοῦν καὶ τὰς σάρκας αὐτῶν ὡς βόλβιτα
Et tribulabo homines , et ambulabunt ut caeci , quia Domino peccaverunt ; et effundetur sanguis eorum sicut humus , et corpora eorum sicut stercora .
ወአመነድቦሙ ፡ ለሰብእ ፡ ወየሐውሩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዕውራን ፡ እስመ ፡ አበሱ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይክዕዉ ፡ ደሞሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጸበል ፡ ወይከዕዉ ፡ ደሞሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጸበል ፡ ወስጋሆሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጽፍፅ ።
I will bring such distress on men that they will walk like blind men because they have sinned against Yahweh. Their blood will be poured out like dust and their flesh like dung.
1:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ גַּם ־כַּסְפָּ֨ם גַּם ־זְהָבָ֜ם לֹא ־יוּכַ֣ל לְהַצִּילָ֗ם בְּיוֹם֙ עֶבְרַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה וּבְאֵשׁ֙ קִנְאָת֔וֹ תֵּאָכֵ֖ל כׇּל ־הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּֽי ־כָלָ֤ה אַךְ ־נִבְהָלָה֙ יַעֲשֶׂ֔ה אֵ֥ת כׇּל ־יֹשְׁבֵ֖י הָאָֽרֶץ ׃ {ס}
καὶ τὸ ἀργύριον αὐτῶν καὶ τὸ χρυσίον αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ δύνηται ἐξελέσθαι αὐτοὺς ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ὀργῆς κυρίου καὶ ἐν πυρὶ ζήλους αὐτοῦ καταναλωθήσεται πᾶσα ἡ γῆ διότι συντέλειαν καὶ σπουδὴν ποιήσει ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν
Sed et argentum eorum et aurum eorum non poterit liberare eos in die irae Domini : in igne zeli ejus devorabitur omnis terra , quia consummationem cum festinatione faciet cunctis habitantibus terram .
ወኢያድኀኖሙ ፡ ወርቆሙ ፡ ወብሩሮሙ ፡ እምዕለተ ፡ ማዓቱ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወእምእሳተ ፡ ቅንአቁ ፡ ትጠፍእ ፡ ኲላ ፡ ምድር ፡ እስመ ፡ ፍጡነ ፡ ያኀልቆሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ።
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Yahweh’s wrath, but the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy; for he will make an end, yes, a terrible end, of all those who dwell in the land.
