αἰνέσωμεν δὴ ἄνδρας ἐνδόξους καὶ τοὺς πατέρας ἡμῶν τῇ γενέσει
Laudemus viros gloriosos, et parentes nostros in generatione sua.
ነወድሶሙ፡ ለዕደው፡ ክቡራን፡ ለአበዊነ፡ በመዋዕሌሆሙ።
Let us now praise famous men, And our fathers that became the father of us.
44:2
πολλὴν δόξαν ἔκτισεν ὁ κύριος τὴν μεγαλωσύνην αὐτοῦ ἀπ’ αἰῶνος
Multam gloriam fecit Dominus : magnificentia sua a sæculo.
እስመ፡ ብዙኀ፡ ክብረ፡ ወሀቦሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወዕበዩኒ፡ እምፍጥረተ፡ ዓለም።
The Lord manifested in them great glory, Even his mighty power from the beginning.
44:3
κυριεύοντες ἐν ταῖς βασιλείαις αὐτῶν καὶ ἄνδρες ὀνομαστοὶ ἐν δυνάμει βουλεύοντες ἐν συνέσει αὐτῶν ἀπηγγελκότες ἐν προφητείαις
Dominantes in potestatibus suis, homines magni virtute et prudentia sua præditi, nuntiantes in prophetis dignitatem prophetarum :
ወኰነኖሙ፡ በመንግሥቶሙ፡ ዕደው፡ እለ፡ አስመዩ፡ በኀይሎሙ፡ ወመካርያን፡ በጥበቢሆሙ፡ ወይነግሩ፡ በትንቢቶሙ።
Such as did bear rule in their kingdoms, And were men renowned for their power, Giving counsel by their understanding, Such as have brought tidings in prophecies:
44:4
ἡγούμενοι λαοῦ ἐν διαβουλίοις καὶ συνέσει γραμματείας λαοῦ σοφοὶ λόγοι ἐν παιδείᾳ αὐτῶν
et imperantes in præsenti populo, et virtute prudentiæ populis sanctissima verba :
ነገሥተ፡ አሕዛብኒ፡ በአጽባኢሆሙ፡ ወጸሐፍቶሙኒ፡ ለሕዝብ፡ በጥበቦሙ፡ በጥበበ፡ ቃሎሙ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ልቦሙ።
Leaders of the people by their counsels, And by their understanding men of learning for the people; Wise were their words in their instruction:
44:5
ἐκζητοῦντες μέλη μουσικῶν καὶ διηγούμενοι ἔπη ἐν γραφῇ
in peritia sua requirentes modos musicos, et narrantes carmina Scripturarum :
ወእለሰ፡ የኀሥሡ፡ ሐውዘ፡ መሰንቆ፡ ወማሕሌት፡ ወየሐልዩ፡ ከመ፡ ዘበመጽ፡ ሐፍ።
Such as sought out musical tunes, And set forth verses in writing:
44:6
ἄνδρες πλούσιοι κεχορηγημένοι ἰσχύι εἰρηνεύοντες ἐν κατοικίαις αὐτῶν
homines divites in virtute, pulchritudinis studium habentes, pacificantes in domibus suis.
ወዕደውኒ፡ ብዑላን፡ እለ፡ የአክሎሙ፡ ኀይሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ዳኅነ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ አብያቲሆሙ።
Rich men furnished with ability, Living peaceably in their habitations:
44:7
πάντες οὗτοι ἐν γενεαῖς ἐδοξάσθησαν καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτῶν καύχημα
Omnes isti in generationibus gentis suæ gloriam adepti sunt, et in diebus suis habentur in laudibus.
ወእሉ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ከብሩ፡ በመዋዕሊሆሙ፡ ወተደለዉ፡ በሕይወቶሙ።
All these were honored in their generations, And were a glory in their days.
44:8
εἰσὶν αὐτῶν οἳ κατέλιπον ὄνομα τοῦ ἐκδιηγήσασθαι ἐπαίνους
Qui de illis nati sunt reliquerunt nomen narrandi laudes eorum.
ወቦ፡ እምውስቴቶሙ፡ እለ፡ ኀደጉ፡ ስመ፡ ክብረ፡ ዘይትናገሩ፡ ቦቱ።
There be of them, that have left a name behind them, To declare their praises.
44:9
καὶ εἰσὶν ὧν οὐκ ἔστιν μνημόσυνον καὶ ἀπώλοντο ὡς οὐχ ὑπάρξαντες καὶ ἐγένοντο ὡς οὐ γεγονότες καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν μετ’ αὐτούς
Et sunt quorum non est memoria : perierunt quasi qui non fuerint : et nati sunt quasi non nati, et filii ipsorum cum ipsis.
ወቦ፡ እለ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘይዜከሮሙ፡ ወእለኒ፡ ጠፍኡ፡ ወኮኑ፡ ከመ፡ ዘኢተፈጥሩ፡ ወገብኡ፡ ከመ፡ ዘኢተወልዱ፡ ወውሉዶሙሂ፡ ከማሁ፡ ምስሌሆሙ።
And some there be, which have no memorial; Who are perished as though they had not been, And are become as though they had not been born; And their children after them.
44:10
ἀλλ’ ἢ οὗτοι ἄνδρες ἐλέους ὧν αἱ δικαιοσύναι οὐκ ἐπελήσθησαν
Sed illi viri misericordiæ sunt, quorum pietates non defuerunt.
ወእሉሰ፡ ዕደው፡ ሥሁላን፡ እለ፡ ኢተረስዐት፡ ሎሙ፡ ጽድቆሙ።
But these were men of mercy, Whose righteous deeds have not been forgotten.
44:11
μετὰ τοῦ σπέρματος αὐτῶν διαμενεῖ ἀγαθὴ κληρονομία ἔκγονα αὐτῶν
Cum semine eorum permanent bona :
ወትቀውም፡ ምስለ፡ ውሉዶሙ፡ ለዝሉፉ፡ ሠናይ፡ ርስቶሙ፡ በላዕለ፡ ውሉዶሙ።
With their seed shall remain continually a good inheritance; Their children are within the covenants.
44:12
ἐν ταῖς διαθήκαις ἔστη τὸ σπέρμα αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν δῑ αὐτούς
hæreditas sancta nepotes eorum, et in testamentis stetit semen eorum :
ወበሥርዐቶሙ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውሉዶሙ፤….።
Their seed stands fast, And their children for their sakes.
44:13
ἕως αἰῶνος μενεῖ σπέρμα αὐτῶν καὶ ἡ δόξα αὐτῶν οὐκ ἐξαλειφθήσεται
et filii eorum propter illos usque in æternum manent : semen eorum et gloria eorum non derelinquetur.
—
Their seed shall remain forever, And their glory shall not be blotted out.
44:14
τὰ σώματα αὐτῶν ἐν εἰρήνῃ ἐτάφη καὶ τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῶν ζῇ εἰς γενεάς
Corpora ipsorum in pace sepulta sunt, et nomen eorum vivit in generationem et generationem.
ወተቀብረ፡ በሰላም፡ ሥጋሆሙወለዓለም፡ ትቀውም፡ ስሞሙ።
Their bodies were buried in peace, And their name lives to all generations.
44:15
σοφίαν αὐτῶν διηγήσονται λαοί καὶ τὸν ἔπαινον ἐξαγγέλλει ἐκκλησία
Sapientiam ipsorum narrent populi, et laudem eorum nuntiet ecclesia.
ወይትናገሩ፡ አሕዛብ፡ በጥበቢሆሙ፡ ወበማኅበረ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ይዌድስዎሙ።
Peoples will declare their wisdom, And the congregation tells out their praise.
44:16
Ενωχ εὐηρέστησεν κυρίῳ καὶ μετετέθη ὑπόδειγμα μετανοίας ταῖς γενεαῖς
Enoch placuit Deo, et translatus est in paradisum, ut det gentibus pœnitentiam.
ወሄኖክሰ፡ አሥመሮ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወኀብኦ፡ ወኮነ፡ አርአያ፡ ለዓለም፡ ከመ፡ ይነስሑ።
Enoch pleased the Lord, and was translated, Being an example of repentance to all generations.
44:17
Νωε εὑρέθη τέλειος δίκαιος ἐν καιρῷ ὀργῆς ἐγένετο ἀντάλλαγμα διὰ τοῦτον ἐγενήθη κατάλειμμα τῇ γῇ ὅτε ἐγένετο κατακλυσμός
Noë inventus est perfectus, justus, et in tempore iracundiæ factus est reconciliatio.
ወኖኅኒ፡ ተረክበ፡ ፍጹመ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ወአመ፡ መዋዕለ፡ መንሱት፡ ኮነ፡ ውእቱ፡ ሣህለ፡ ለዓለም፡ ወውእቱ፡ ተረፈ፡ ለብሔር፡ አመ፡ ኮነ፡ ማየ፡ አይኅ።
Noah was found perfect and righteous; In the season of wrath he was taken in exchange for the world; Therefore was there left a remnant to the earth, When the flood came.
44:18
διαθῆκαι αἰῶνος ἐτέθησαν πρὸς αὐτόν ἵνα μὴ ἐξαλειφθῇ κατακλυσμῷ πᾶσα σάρξ
Ideo dimissum est reliquum terræ, cum factum est diluvium.
ተካየደ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ለዓለም፡ ከመ፡ ኢይጥፍ[ኦ]፡ ማየ፡ አይኅ፡ ለኵሉ፡ [ዘ]ነፍስ።
Everlasting covenants were made with him, That all flesh should no more be blotted out by a flood.
44:19
Αβρααμ μέγας πατὴρ πλήθους ἐθνῶν καὶ οὐχ εὑρέθη ὅμοιος ἐν τῇ δόξῃ
Testamenta sæculi posita sunt apud illum, ne deleri possit diluvio omnis caro.
አብርሃም፡ ዐቢይ፡ ውእቱ፡ አቡሆሙ፡ ለአሕዛብ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ወኢተረክበ፡ ከማሁ፡ ክቡር።
Abraham was a great father of a multitude of nations; And there was none found like him in glory;
44:20
ὃς συνετήρησεν νόμον ὑψίστου καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν διαθήκῃ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐν σαρκὶ αὐτοῦ ἔστησεν διαθήκην καὶ ἐν πειρασμῷ εὑρέθη πιστός
Abraham magnus pater multitudinis gentium, et non est inventus similis illi in gloria : qui conservavit legem Excelsi, et fuit in testamento cum illo.
ዘዐቀበ፡ ሕጎ፡ ለልዑል፡ ወተካየደ፡ ምስሌሁ፡(በሥጋሁ፡)ግብረ፡ ሕጉ፡ ወአመኒ፡ አመከሮ፡ ተረክበ፡ ምእመነ።
Who kept the law of the Most High, And was taken into covenant with him: In his flesh he established the covenant; And when he was proved, he was found faithful.
44:21
διὰ τοῦτο ἐν ὅρκῳ ἔστησεν αὐτῷ ἐνευλογηθῆναι ἔθνη ἐν σπέρματι αὐτοῦ πληθῦναι αὐτὸν ὡς χοῦν τῆς γῆς καὶ ὡς ἄστρα ἀνυψῶσαι τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ καὶ κατακληρονομῆσαι αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ θαλάσσης ἕως θαλάσσης καὶ ἀπὸ ποταμοῦ ἕως ἄκρου τῆς γῆς
In carne ejus stare fecit testamentum, et in tentatione inventus est fidelis.
ወእንበይነ፡ ዝንቱ፡ በመሐላ፡ አቀመ፡ ሎቱ፡ ኪዳነ፡ ከመ፡ ይትባረኩ፡ አሕዛብ፡ በዘርኡ፡ ወከመ፡ ያበዝኆ፡ ከመ፡ ኆጻ፡ ምድር፡ ወከመ፡ ኮከብ፡ ይትባዝኁ፡ ዘርኡ፡ ከመ፡ ያውርሶሙ፡ እምባሕር፡ እስከ፡ ባሕር፡ ወእምነ፡ አፍላግ፡ እስከ፡ አጽናፈ፡ ምድር።
Therefore he assured him by an oath, That the nations should be blessed in his seed; That he would multiply him as the dust of the earth, And exalt his seed as the stars, And cause them to inherit from sea to sea, And from the River to the utmost part of the earth.
44:22
καὶ ἐν τῷ Ισαακ ἔστησεν οὕτως δῑ Αβρααμ τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ
Ideo jurejurando dedit illi gloriam in gente sua, crescere illum quasi terræ cumulum,
ወለይስሐቅኒ፡ ከማሁ፡ አቀመ፡ ሎቱ፡ እንበይነ፡ አብርሃም፡ አቡሁ፡ በረከተኒ፡ ለኵሉ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ ወሥርዐተ።
In Isaac also did he establish likewise, for Abraham his father’s sake, The blessing of all men, and the covenant:
44:23
εὐλογίαν πάντων ἀνθρώπων καὶ διαθήκην κατέπαυσεν ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν Ιακωβ ἐπέγνω αὐτὸν ἐν εὐλογίαις αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ ἐν κληρονομίᾳ καὶ διέστειλεν μερίδας αὐτοῦ ἐν φυλαῖς ἐμέρισεν δέκα δύο
et ut stellas exaltare semen ejus, et hæreditare illos a mari usque ad mare, et a flumine usque ad terminos terræ.
ወአዕረፈት፡ ላዕለ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ዲበ፡ ርእሱ፡ ወአስተርአየት፡ ሎቱ፡ በበረከቱ፡ ወወሀቦሙ፡ ርስቶ፡ ኪያሃ፡ ወፈለጠ፡ ሎሙ፡ ርስቶሙ፡ ዘዘዚአሆሙ፡ ወከፈሎሙ፡ ለዐሠርቱ፡ ወክልኤቱ፡ አሕዛብ።
And he made it rest upon the head of Jacob; He acknowledged him in his blessings, And gave to him by inheritance, And divided his portions; Among twelve tribes did he part them.
