34:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ κεναὶ ἐλπίδες καὶ ψευδεῖς ἀσυνέτῳ ἀνδρί καὶ ἐνύπνια ἀναπτεροῦσιν ἄφρονας
Vana spes et mendacium viro insensato : et somnia extollunt imprudentes .
ለሠናይ ፡ ልብ ፡ ወለጥዑም ፡ እክል ፡ ኢይሜንንዎ ። ትጋሁ ፡ ለብዕል ፡ ያቋቊዕ ፡ አዕፅምተ ፡ ወነፍስተ ፡ ወኀልዮ ፡ ንዋይ ፡ ያሰርር ፡ ንዋመ ።
Vain and false hopes are for a man void of understanding; And dreams give wings to fools.
34:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δρασσόμενος σκιᾶς καὶ διώκων ἄνεμον οὕτως ὁ ἐπέχων ἐνυπνίοις
Quasi qui apprehendit umbram et persequitur ventum , sic et qui attendit ad visa mendacia .
ወኀልዎ ፡ ዘይትሐዘብ ፡ ያኀልቅ ፡ ንዋመ ፡ በድቃስ ፡ ክቡድ ፡ ሕማም ፡ ያተግህ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ንዋም ።
As one that catches at a shadow, and follows after the wind, So is he that sets his mind on dreams.
34:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦτο κατὰ τούτου ὅρασις ἐνυπνίων κατέναντι προσώπου ὁμοίωμα προσώπου
Hoc secundum hoc visio somniorum , ante faciem hominis similitudo hominis .
የዐውድ ፡ ባዕል ፡ ከመ ፡ ይዝግብ ፡ ንዋየ ፡ ወእንተ ፡ ጊዜ ፡ ያዐርፍኒ ፡ ይፈግዕ ፡ በጽጋብ ።
The vision of dreams is as this thing against that, The likeness of a face near a face.
34:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀπὸ ἀκαθάρτου τί καθαρισθήσεται καὶ ἀπὸ ψευδοῦς τί ἀληθεύσει
Ab immundo , quid mundabitur ? et a mendace , quid verum dicetur ?
ይሰርሕ ፡ ነዳይ ፡ በኀጢአ ፡ ንዋይ ፡ ወሶበ ፡ እምአዕረፈኒ ፡ ይገብእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ [ስኢ ]ል ።
Of an unclean thing what shall be cleansed? And of that which is false what shall be true?
34:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ μαντεῖαι καὶ οἰωνισμοὶ καὶ ἐνύπνια μάταιά ἐστιν καὶ ὡς ὠδινούσης φαντάζεται καρδία
Divinatio erroris , et auguria mendacia , et somnia malefacientium , vanitas est :
ኢይጸድቅ ፡ ዘያፈቅር ፡ ንዋየ ፡ ወዘያፈቅራ ፡ ለኀጢአት ፡ ይተልዋ ።
Divinations, and soothsayings, and dreams, are vain: And the heart fancies, as a woman’s in travail.
34:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐὰν μὴ παρὰ ὑψίστου ἀποσταλῇ ἐν ἐπισκοπῇ μὴ δῷς εἰς αὐτὰ τὴν καρδίαν σου
et sicut parturientis , cor tuum phantasias patitur . Nisi ab Altissimo fuerit emissa visitatio , ne dederis in illis cor tuum :
ብዙኃን ፡ እለ ፡ ወድቁ ፡ እንበይነ ፡ ንዋይ ፡ ወርእይዎ ፡ ለሞቶሙ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ገጾሙ ።
If they be not sent from the Most High in your visitation, Give not your heart to them.
34:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ πολλοὺς γὰρ ἐπλάνησεν τὰ ἐνύπνια καὶ ἐξέπεσον ἐλπίζοντες ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς
multos enim errare fecerunt somnia , et exciderunt sperantes in illis .
ዕፀ ፡ እቅፍት ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ የኀሥሥዋ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ አብድ ፡ ይትዐቀፍ ፡ ቦቱ ።
For dreams have led many astray: And they have failed by putting their hope in them.
34:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄνευ ψεύδους συντελεσθήσεται νόμος καὶ σοφία στόματι πιστῷ τελείωσις
Sine mendacio consummabitur verbum legis , et sapientia in ore fidelis complanabitur .
ብፁዕ ፡ ባዕል ፡ ዘንጹሕ ፡ እምኀጢአት ፡ ወዘኢያትለወ ፡ ልቦ ፡ ድኅረ ፡ ንዋይ ።
Without lying shall the law be accomplished; And wisdom is perfection to a faithful mouth.
34:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀνὴρ πεπλανημένος ἔγνω πολλά καὶ ὁ πολύπειρος ἐκδιηγήσεται σύνεσιν
Qui non est tentatus quid scit ? vir in multis expertus cogitabit multa : et qui multa didicit enarrabit intellectum .
መኑ ፡ እንጋ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወናስተበፅዖ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ሠናየ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሕዝቡ ።
A well-instructed man knows many things; And he that has much experience will declare understanding.
34:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃς οὐκ ἐπειράθη ὀλίγα οἶδεν ὁ δὲ πεπλανημένος πληθυνεῖ πανουργίαν
Qui non est expertus pauca recognoscit : qui autem in multis factus est , multiplicat malitiam .
መኑ ፡ እንጋ ፡ ዘተመከረ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ ወኢስሕተ ፡ ወውእቱ ፡ ኮኖ ፡ ምክሐ ፡ መኑ ፡ እንጋ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይክል ፡ አሐሥሞ ፡ ዘኢያሐሥም ፡ ወመኑ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይክል ፡ ገቢረ ፡ ኀጢአት ፡ ወኢይገብር ።
He that has no experience knows few things: But he that has wandered shall increase his skill.
34:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ πολλὰ ἑώρακα ἐν τῇ ἀποπλανήσει μου καὶ πλείονα τῶν λόγων μου σύνεσίς μου
Qui tentatus non est qualia scit ? qui implanatus est abundabit nequitia .
ለትጽናዕ ፡ በረከቱ ፡ ወይሰማዕ ፡ ምጽዋቲሁ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ሕዝብ ።
In my wandering I have seen many things; And more than my words is my understanding.
34:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ πλεονάκις ἕως θανάτου ἐκινδύνευσα καὶ διεσώθην τούτων χάριν
Multa vidi errando , et plurimas verborum consuetudines .
ወእምከመ ፡ ነበርከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ማእድ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ኢታርኁ ፡ ጕርዔከ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ ወኢትበል ፡ ብዙኀ ፡ ሠርዑ ፡ ውስቴቱ ።
Ofttimes was I in danger even to death; And I was preserved because of these things.
34:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ πνεῦμα φοβουμένων κύριον ζήσεται ἡ γὰρ ἐλπὶς αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τὸν σῴζοντα αὐτούς
Aliquoties usque ad mortem periclitatus sum horum causa , et liberatus sum gratia Dei .
ተዘከር ፡ ከመ ፡ እኩይ ፡ ዐይነ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ምንት ፡ የአኪ ፡ እምነ ፡ ዐይነ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ወእንበይነዝ ፡ ታነብዕ ፡ ዐይን ።
The spirit of those that fear the Lord shall live; For their hope is upon him that saves them.
34:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ φοβούμενος κύριον οὐδὲν εὐλαβηθήσεται καὶ οὐ μὴ δειλιάσῃ ὅτι αὐτὸς ἐλπὶς αὐτοῦ
Spiritus timentium Deum quæritur , et in respectu illius benedicetur .
ኢትሠሥዕ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘርኢከ ፡ ወኢትጥማዕ ፡ እደተከ ፡ ወኢትኅሥሥ ፡ አጽሕልተ ፡ ወኢትልሐስ ፡ መጻብኅተ ።
Whoso fears the Lord shall not be afraid, and shall not play the coward; For he is his hope.
34:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ φοβουμένου τὸν κύριον μακαρία ἡ ψυχή τίνι ἐπέχει καὶ τίς αὐτοῦ στήριγμα
Spes enim illorum in salvantem illos , et oculi Dei in diligentes se .
አእምር ፡ ዘአምስሐከ ፡ ቢጽከ ፡ ወጠይቅ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘአቅረበ ፡ ለከ ።
Blessed is the soul of him that fears the Lord: To whom does he give heed? and who is his stay?
34:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ κυρίου ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀγαπῶντας αὐτόν ὑπερασπισμὸς δυναστείας καὶ στήριγμα ἰσχύος σκέπη ἀπὸ καύσωνος καὶ σκέπη ἀπὸ μεσημβρίας φυλακὴ ἀπὸ προσκόμματος καὶ βοήθεια ἀπὸ πτώσεως
Qui timet Dominum nihil trepidabit : et non pavebit , quoniam ipse est spes ejus .
ወብላዕ ፡ ከመ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ዘሠርዑ ፡ ለከ ፡ ወኢትልሳሕ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ትመጽር ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢታጽልኦ ፡ ለቢጽከ ።
The eyes of the Lord are upon those who love him, A mighty protection and strong stay, A cover from the hot blast, and a cover from the noonday, A guard from stumbling, and a succour from falling.
34:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀνυψῶν ψυχὴν καὶ φωτίζων ὀφθαλμούς ἴασιν διδούς ζωὴν καὶ εὐλογίαν
Timentis Dominum , beata est anima ejus .
ቅድም ፡ እምኵሉ ፡ ኀዲገ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ወኢተሐሲ ፡ ወኢትኩን ፡ ከመ ፡ ዘኢይጸግብ ።
He raises up the soul, and enlighteneth the eyes: He gives healing, life, and blessing.
34:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ θυσιάζων ἐξ ἀδίκου προσφορὰ μεμωμημένη καὶ οὐκ εἰς εὐδοκίαν δωρήματα ἀνόμων
Ad quem respicit , et quis est fortitudo ejus ?
እመኒ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ ነበርከ ፡ ኢትቅድም ፡ አውርዶ ፡ እደተከ ።
He that sacrifices of a thing wrongfully gotten, his offering is made in mockery; And the mockeries of wicked men are not well-pleasing.
34:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐκ εὐδοκεῖ ὁ ὕψιστος ἐν προσφοραῖς ἀσεβῶν οὐδὲ ἐν πλήθει θυσιῶν ἐξιλάσκεται ἁμαρτίας
Oculi Domini super timentes eum : protector potentiæ , firmamentum virtutis , tegimen ardoris , et umbraculum meridiani :
በዐቅሙ ፡ ብላዕ ፡ ከመ ፡ ብእሲ ፡>ጠቢብ ፡ ዘኅዳጥ ፡ የአክሎ ፡ ወኢይክበድከ ፡ ነፍስትከ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ምስካብከ ።
The Most High has no pleasure in the offerings of the ungodly; Neither is he pacified for sins by the multitude of sacrifices.
34:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ θύων υἱὸν ἔναντι τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ προσάγων θυσίαν ἐκ χρημάτων πενήτων
deprecatio offensionis , et adjutorium casus : exaltans animam , et illuminans oculos , dans sanitatem , et vitam , et benedictionem .
ጥዑይ ፡ ንዋሙ ፡ ለዘይዔቅማ ፡ ለነፍሱ ፡ ሶበኒ ፡ ይነቅህ ፡ በጽባሕ ፡ ኢይደበድብ ፡ ነፍስቱ ፡ ለብእሲሰ ፡ ሥሡዕ ፡ ዘኢይጸግብ ፡ ደዌሁ ፡ ቅንጣዌ ፡ ወገብጥ ፡ ወጥዋይ ።
As one that kills the son before his father’s eyes Is he that brings a sacrifice from the goods of the poor.
34:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄρτος ἐπιδεομένων ζωὴ πτωχῶν ὁ ἀποστερῶν αὐτὴν ἄνθρωπος αἱμάτων
Immolantis ex iniquo oblatio est maculata , et non sunt beneplacitæ subsannationes injustorum .
እመኒ ፡ አገበሩከ ፡ ትብላዕ ፡ ብድሮሙ ፡ ተንሥእ ፡ ወአዕርፍ ።
The bread of the needy is the life of the poor: He that depriveth him thereof is a man of blood.
34:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ φονεύων τὸν πλησίον ὁ ἀφαιρούμενος ἐμβίωσιν καὶ ἐκχέων αἷμα ὁ ἀποστερῶν μισθὸν μισθίου
Dominus solus sustinentibus se in via veritatis et justitiæ .
አፅምአኒ ፡ ወልድየ ፡ ወኢታስትት ፡ ተግሣጽየ ፡ ወድኅረ ፡ ትረክቦ ፡ ለነገርየ ። ኢትኩን ፡ ፅቡሰ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ዘገበርከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትኅጣእ ፡ ወኢምንተኒ ።
As one that slays his neighbor is he that takes away his living; And as a shedder of blood is he that depriveth a hireling of his hire.
34:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἷς οἰκοδομῶν καὶ εἷς καθαιρῶν τί ὠφέλησαν πλεῖον ἢ κόπους
Dona iniquorum non probat Altissimus , nec respicit in oblationes iniquorum , nec in multitudine sacrificiorum eorum propitiabitur peccatis .
ለጸጋዊሰ ፡ ይድኅርዎ ፡ በሥነ ፡ ምግባሩ ፤….።
One building, and another pulling down, What profit have they had but toil?
34:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἷς εὐχόμενος καὶ εἷς καταρώμενος τίνος φωνῆς εἰσακούσεται ὁ δεσπότης
Qui offert sacrificium ex substantia pauperum , quasi qui victimat filium in conspectu patris sui .
ወለደንጻዊ ፡ ይረግም ፡ በእከየ ፡ ግዕዙ ፤….።
One praying, and another cursing, Whose voice will the Lord listen to?
34:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ βαπτιζόμενος ἀπὸ νεκροῦ καὶ πάλιν ἁπτόμενος αὐτοῦ τί ὠφέλησεν ἐν τῷ λουτρῷ αὐτοῦ
Panis egentium vita pauperum est : qui defraudat illum homo sanguinis est .
እምከመ ፡ ሰተይከ ፡ ኢትዝኀር ፡ እስመ ፡ ለብዙኃን ፡ አስሐቶሙ ፡ ስታይ ።
He that washes himself after touching a dead body, and touches it again, What profit has he in his washing?
34:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὕτως ἄνθρωπος νηστεύων ἐπὶ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ πάλιν πορευόμενος καὶ τὰ αὐτὰ ποιῶν τῆς προσευχῆς αὐτοῦ τίς εἰσακούσεται καὶ τί ὠφέλησεν ἐν τῷ ταπεινωθῆναι αὐτόν
Qui aufert in sudore panem , quasi qui occidit proximum suum .
በምንሃብ ፡ ያሜክርዎ ፡ ለኀጺን ፡ ጽኑዕ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ወይንሂ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ልቦሙ ፡ ለዕቡያን ።
Even so a man fasting for his sins, And going again, and doing the same; Who will listen to his prayer? And what profit has he in his humiliation?
