12:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐὰν εὖ ποιῇς γνῶθι τίνι ποιεῖς καὶ ἔσται χάρις τοῖς ἀγαθοῖς σου
Si benefeceris , scito cui feceris , et erit gratia in bonis tuis multa .
አመ ፡ ትገብር ፡ ሠናየ ፡ አእምር ፡ ለዘትገብር ፡ በዘትረክብ ፡ ዕሴተ ፡ ሠናይትከ ።
If you do good, know to whom you do it; And your good deeds will have thanks.
12:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ εὖ ποίησον εὐσεβεῖ καὶ εὑρήσεις ἀνταπόδομα καὶ εἰ μὴ παρ’ αὐτοῦ ἀλλὰ παρὰ τοῦ ὑψίστου
Benefac justo , et invenies retributionem magnam : et si non ab ipso , certe a Domino .
ግበር ፡ ለጻድቅ ፡ ወትረክብ ፡ ዕሴተከ ፡ ወእመ ፡ ኢረከብከ ፡ በኀቤሁ ፡ ትረክብ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ፈጣሪሁ ።
Do good to a godly man, and you will find a recompense; And if not from him, yet from the Most High.
12:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐκ ἔσται ἀγαθὰ τῷ ἐνδελεχίζοντι εἰς κακὰ καὶ τῷ ἐλεημοσύνην μὴ χαριζομένῳ
Non est enim ei bene qui assiduus est in malis , et eleemosynas non danti : quoniam et Altissimus odio habet peccatores , et misertus est pœnitentibus .
አልቦቱ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ዘይገብራ ፡ ለእኪት ፡ ወበኀበ ፡ ዘኢይገብር ፡ ምጽዋተ ።
There will no good come to him that continueth to do evil, Nor to him that gives no alms.
12:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ δὸς τῷ εὐσεβεῖ καὶ μὴ ἀντιλάβῃ τοῦ ἁμαρτωλοῦ
Da misericordi , et ne suscipias peccatorem : et impiis et peccatoribus reddet vindictam , custodiens eos in diem vindictæ .
ሀብ ፡ ለጻድቅ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይንሣእከ ፡ ኃጥእ ።
Give to the godly man, And help not the sinner.
12:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ εὖ ποίησον ταπεινῷ καὶ μὴ δῷς ἀσεβεῖ ἐμπόδισον τοὺς ἄρτους αὐτοῦ καὶ μὴ δῷς αὐτῷ ἵνα μὴ ἐν αὐτοῖς σε δυναστεύσῃ διπλάσια γὰρ κακὰ εὑρήσεις ἐν πᾶσιν ἀγαθοῖς οἷς ἂν ποιήσῃς αὐτῷ
Da bono , et non receperis peccatorem .
አሠኒ ፡ ለነዳይ ፡ ወኢተሀብ ፡ ለእኩይ ፡ አፅርዕ ፡ እክለከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይንሣእከ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይማእከ ፡ በንዋይከ ፡ እስመ ፡ ካዕበተ ፡ ትረክባ ፡ ለእኪት ፡ በኀቤሁ ፡ ዕሴተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሠናይትከ ፡ እንተ ፡ ገበርከ ፡ ሎቱ ።
Do good to one that is lowly, And give not to an ungodly man: Keep back his bread, and give it not to him, Lest he overmaster you thereby: For you will receive twice as much evil For all the good you will have done to him.
12:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι καὶ ὁ ὕψιστος ἐμίσησεν ἁμαρτωλοὺς καὶ τοῖς ἀσεβέσιν ἀποδώσει ἐκδίκησιν
Benefac humili , et non dederis impio : prohibe panes illi dari , ne in ipsis potentior te sit :
እስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይጸልኦሙ ፡ ለኃጥኣን ፡ ወይትቤቀሎሙ ፡ ለእኩያን ።
For the Most High also hates sinners, And will repay vengeance to the ungodly.
12:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ δὸς τῷ ἀγαθῷ καὶ μὴ ἀντιλάβῃ τοῦ ἁμαρτωλοῦ
nam duplicia mala invenies in omnibus bonis quæcumque feceris illi , quoniam et Altissimus odio habet peccatores , et impiis reddet vindictam .
ሀብ ፡ ለጻድቅ ፡ እምተሀብ ፡ ለኃጥእ ።
Give to the good man, And help not the sinner.
12:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐκ ἐκδικηθήσεται ἐν ἀγαθοῖς ὁ φίλος καὶ οὐ κρυβήσεται ἐν κακοῖς ὁ ἐχθρός
Non agnoscetur in bonis amicus , et non abscondetur in malis inimicus .
ኢያምሥጥከ ፡ ዐርክከ ፡ አመ ፡ ትፍሥሕትከ ፡ ወኢይትኅባእከ ፡ ጸላኢከ ፡ አመ ፡ ምንዳቤከ ።
A man’s friend will not be fully tried in prosperity; And his enemy will not be hidden in adversity.
12:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ἀγαθοῖς ἀνδρὸς οἱ ἐχθροὶ αὐτοῦ ἐν λύπῃ καὶ ἐν τοῖς κακοῖς αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ φίλος διαχωρισθήσεται
In bonis viri , inimici illius in tristitia : et in malitia illius , amicus agnitus est .
ትፍሥሕትከ ፡ ያቈስሎሙ ፡ ለጸላእትከ ፡ ወተጽናስከ ፡ ይሰድዶሙ ፡ ለአዕርክቲከ ።
In a man’s prosperity his enemies are grieved; And in his adversity even his friend will be separated from him.
12:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ πιστεύσῃς τῷ ἐχθρῷ σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ὡς γὰρ ὁ χαλκὸς ἰοῦται οὕτως ἡ πονηρία αὐτοῦ
Non credas inimico tuo in æternum : sicut enim æramentum æruginat nequitia illius :
ኢትትአመኖ ፡ ለጸላኢከ ፡ ለዝሉፉ ፡ እስመ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዛሕለ ፡ ብርት ፡ እከየ ፡ ልቡ ።
Never trust your enemy: For like as the brass rusts, so is his wickedness.
12:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐὰν ταπεινωθῇ καὶ πορεύηται συγκεκυφώς ἐπίστησον τὴν ψυχήν σου καὶ φύλαξαι ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔσῃ αὐτῷ ὡς ἐκμεμαχὼς ἔσοπτρον καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι οὐκ εἰς τέλος κατίωσεν
et si humiliatus vadat curvus , adjice animum tuum , et custodi te ab illo .
ወእመኒ ፡ ተጸነስከ ፡ ይፀመደከ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ኢይንእደከ ፡ አጽንዓ ፡ ለነፍስከ ፡ ወተዐቀቦ ፡ ወትከውኖ ፡ ከመ ፡ መጽሔት ፡ ዝሕልተ ፡ ወኢይክለከ ፡ ለዝሉፉ ።
Though he humble himself, and go crouching, Yet take good heed, and beware of him, And you will be to him as one that has wiped a mirror, And you will know that he has not utterly rusted it.
12:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ στήσῃς αὐτὸν παρὰ σεαυτῷ μὴ ἀνατρέψας σε στῇ ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον σου μὴ καθίσῃς αὐτὸν ἐκ δεξιῶν σου μήποτε ζητήσῃ τὴν καθέδραν σου καὶ ἐπ’ ἐσχάτων ἐπιγνώσῃ τοὺς λόγους μου καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν ῥημάτων μου κατανυγήσῃ
Non statuas illum penes te , nec sedeat ad dexteram tuam , ne forte conversus in locum tuum , inquirat cathedram tuam , et in novissimo agnosces verba mea , et in sermonibus meis stimuleris .
ወኢታቅሞ ፡ መንገሌከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይጕዳዕከ ፡ ወኢይቁም ፡ ውስተ ፡ መካንከ ፡ ወኢታንብሮ ፡ መንገለ ፡ የማንከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይንሣእከ ፡ ሢመተከ ፡ ወበደኃሪትከ ፡ ሀለወከ ፡ ታእምሮ ፡ ለቃልየ ፡ ወትዜከሮ ፡ ለተግሣጽየ ።
Set him not by you, Lest he overthrow you and stand in your place; Let him not sit on your right hand, Lest he seek to take your seat, And at the last you acknowledge my words, And be pricked with my sayings.
12:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ τίς ἐλεήσει ἐπαοιδὸν ὀφιόδηκτον καὶ πάντας τοὺς προσάγοντας θηρίοις
Quis miserebitur incantatori a serpente percusso , et omnibus qui appropiant bestiis ? et sic qui comitatur cum viro iniquo , et obvolutus est in peccatis ejus .
መኑ ፡ ያስተምህሮ ፡ ለአርዌ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወለኵሉ ፡ አርዌ ፡ እኩይ ።
Who will pity a charmer that is bitten with a serpent, Or any that come near wild beasts?
12:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὕτως τὸν προσπορευόμενον ἀνδρὶ ἁμαρτωλῷ καὶ συμφυρόμενον ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτοῦ
Una hora tecum permanebit : si autem declinaveris , non supportabit .
ከማሁ ፡ ዘየሐውርኒ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ኃጥእ ፡ ወይዴመር ፡ ምስለ ፡ ኀጢአቱ ።
Even so who will pity him that goes to a sinner, And is mingled with him in his sins?
12:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὥραν μετὰ σοῦ διαμενεῖ καὶ ἐὰν ἐκκλίνῃς οὐ μὴ καρτερήσῃ
In labiis suis indulcat inimicus , et in corde suo insidiatur ut subvertat te in foveam .
ለእንተ ፡ ምዕር ፡ ይቀውም ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ ጸላኢከ ፡ ወእስከ ፡ ትትመየጥ ፡ ኢትሬእዮ ፡ እንከ ፡ ወኢይትዔገሥ ፡ ምስሌከ ።
For a while he will abide with you, And if you give way, he will not hold out.
12:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐν τοῖς χείλεσιν αὐτοῦ γλυκανεῖ ὁ ἐχθρὸς καὶ ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ βουλεύσεται ἀνατρέψαι σε εἰς βόθρον ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ δακρύσει ὁ ἐχθρός καὶ ἐὰν εὕρῃ καιρόν οὐκ ἐμπλησθήσεται ἀφ’ αἵματος
In oculis suis lacrimatur inimicus , et si invenerit tempus , non satiabitur sanguine .
በከናፍሪሁሰ ፡ ያስተጥዕም ፡ ለከ ፡ ቃሎ ፡ ጸላኢከ ፡ ወበልቡ ፡ ይመክር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ግብ ፡ ያውድቀ ፡ ወበዐይኑሂ ፡ ያነብዕ ፡ ለከ ፡ ጸላኢከ ፡ ወእም ፡ ከመ ፡ አስሐተከ ፡ ኢይጸግብ ፡ እምደምከ ።
And the enemy will speak sweetly with his lips, And in his heart take counsel how to overthrow you into a pit: The enemy will weep with his eyes, And if he find opportunity, he will not be satiated with blood.
12:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ κακὰ ἐὰν ὑπαντήσῃ σοι εὑρήσεις αὐτὸν πρότερον ἐκεῖ σου καὶ ὡς βοηθῶν ὑποσχάσει πτέρναν σου
Et si incurrerint tibi mala , invenies eum illic priorem .
ወእመኒ ፡ ተመንደብከ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ትረክቦ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ገጽከ ፡ ወቅድመ ፡ ዘይረድአከ ፡ ያቴሕት ፡ ርእሶ ፡ ታሕተ ፡ ሰኰናከ ።
If adversity meet you, you will find him there before you; And as though he would help you, he will trip up your heel.
12:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ κινήσει καὶ ἐπικροτήσει ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτοῦ καὶ πολλὰ διαψιθυρίσει καὶ ἀλλοιώσει τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ
In oculis suis lacrimatur inimicus , et quasi adjuvans suffodiet plantas tuas .
ወይጠፍሕ ፡ በእደዊሁ ፡ ወየሐውስ ፡ ርእሶ ፡ ወእምዝ ፡ ይመይጥ ፡ ገጾ ፡ ወይትቃጸበከ ።
He will shake his head, and clap his hands, And whisper much, and change his countenance.
