πᾶσα σοφία παρὰ κυρίου καὶ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐστιν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
Omnis sapientia a Domino Deo est : et cum illo fuit semper, et est ante ævum.
ቀዳሚሃ፡ ለኵሉ፡ ጥበብ፡ እምኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይእቲ። ወምስሌሁ፡ ሀለወት፡ ጥበብ፡ ለዓለም።
All wisdom comes from the Lord, And is with him forever.
1:2
ἄμμον θαλασσῶν καὶ σταγόνας ὑετοῦ καὶ ἡμέρας αἰῶνος τίς ἐξαριθμήσει
Arenam maris, et pluviæ guttas, et dies sæculi, quis dinumeravit ? altitudinem cæli, et latitudinem terræ, et profundum abyssi, quis dimensus est ?
ኆፃ፡ ባሕር፡ ወነጠብጣበ፡ ዝናም፡ ወመዋዕለ፡ ዓለም፡ መኑ፡ ኈለቈ።
The sand of the seas, and the drops of rain, And the days of eternity, who shall count?
1:3
ὕψος οὐρανοῦ καὶ πλάτος γῆς καὶ ἄβυσσον καὶ σοφίαν τίς ἐξιχνιάσει
sapientiam Dei præcedentem omnia, quis investigavit ?
ሉዓሌ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወራሕበ፡ ምድር፡ ወዕመቀ፡ ቀላይ፡ ወለጥበብ፡ መኑ፡ ሰፈሮሙ።
The height of the heaven, and the breadth of the earth, And the deep, and wisdom, who shall search them out?
1:4
προτέρα πάντων ἔκτισται σοφία καὶ σύνεσις φρονήσεως ἐξ αἰῶνος
Prior omnium creata est sapientia, et intellectus prudentiæ ab ævo.
ቀዳሜ፡ ኵሉ፡ ተፈጥረት፡ ጥበብ።
Wisdom has been created before all things, And the understanding of prudence from everlasting.
1:5—
Fons sapientiæ verbum Dei in excelsis, et ingressus illius mandata æterna.
ወኅሊናሃ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ዘእምፍጥረተ፡ ዓለም።
The word of God on high is the fountain of wisdom, and her ways are everlasting commandments.
1:6
ῥίζα σοφίας τίνι ἀπεκαλύφθη καὶ τὰ πανουργεύματα αὐτῆς τίς ἔγνω
Radix sapientiæ cui revelata est ? et astutias illius quis agnovit ?
ሥርዋ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ለመኑ፡ ተከሥተ።
To whom has the root of wisdom been revealed? And who has known her shrewd counsels?
1:7—
disciplina sapientiæ cui revelata est et manifestata ? et multiplicationem ingressus illius quis intellexit ?
ወመኑ፡ አእመረ፡ ምክራ።
To whom has the discipline of wisdom been revealed and made manifest? And who has understood the manifold ways of her approach?
1:8
εἷς ἐστιν σοφός φοβερὸς σφόδρα καθήμενος ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ
Unus est altissimus, Creator omnipotens, et rex potens et metuendus nimis, sedens super thronum illius, et dominans Deus.
አሐዱ፡ ውእቱ፡ ጥበብ፡ ወፈድፋደ፡ ግሩም፡ ውእቱ፡ ወይነብር፡ ላዕለ፡ መንበሩ፡ ውእቱ።
There is one wise, greatly to be feared, The Lord sitting upon his throne:
1:9
κύριος αὐτὸς ἔκτισεν αὐτὴν καὶ εἶδεν καὶ ἐξηρίθμησεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐξέχεεν αὐτὴν ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ
Ipse creavit illam in Spiritu Sancto, et vidit, et dinumeravit, et mensus est :
ወእግዚአብሔር፡ ለሊሁ፡ ፈጠራ፡ ወርእያ፡ ወሰፈራሂ።
He created her, And saw, and counted her, And poured her out upon all his works.
1:10
μετὰ πάσης σαρκὸς κατὰ τὴν δόσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐχορήγησεν αὐτὴν τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτόν
et effudit illam super omnia opera sua, et super omnem carnem, secundum datum suum, et præbuit illam diligentibus se.
ወሶጣ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ ግብሩ፡ ምስለ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዘሥጋ፡ በከመ፡ ሀብቱ። ወወሀቦሙ፡ ለኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ያፈቅርዋ።
She is with all flesh according to his gift; And he gave her freely to those who love him.
1:11
φόβος κυρίου δόξα καὶ καύχημα καὶ εὐφροσύνη καὶ στέφανος ἀγαλλιάματος
Timor Domini gloria, et gloriatio, et lætitia, et corona exsultationis.
ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ክብር፡ ውእቱ። ወምክህ፡ ወትፍሥሕት፡ ውእቱ፡ ወአክሊለ፡ ሐሤት።
The fear of the Lord is glory, and exultation, And gladness, and a crown of rejoicing.
1:12
φόβος κυρίου τέρψει καρδίαν καὶ δώσει εὐφροσύνην καὶ χαρὰν καὶ μακροημέρευσιν
Timor Domini delectabit cor, et dabit lætitiam, et gaudium, et longitudinem dierum.
ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ትፍሥሕተ፡ ልብ፡ ውእቱ። ወይሁብ፡ ሐሤተ፡ ወያስተፌሥሕ፡ ወያነውኅ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ሕይወት።
The fear of the Lord will delight the heart, And will give gladness, and joy, and length of days.
1:13
τῷ φοβουμένῳ τὸν κύριον εὖ ἔσται ἐπ’ ἐσχάτων καὶ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ τελευτῆς αὐτοῦ εὐλογηθήσεται
Timenti Dominum bene erit in extremis, et in die defunctionis suæ benedicetur.
ለፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ያሤኒ፡ ደኃሪቱ። ወይትባረክ፡ አመ፡ ዕለተ፡ ሞቱ።
Whoso fears the Lord, it will go well with him at the last, And in the day of his death he will be blessed.
1:14
ἀρχὴ σοφίας φοβεῖσθαι τὸν κύριον καὶ μετὰ πιστῶν ἐν μήτρᾳ συνεκτίσθη αὐτοῖς
Dilectio Dei honorabilis sapientia :
ቀዳሚሃ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር። ወተፈጥረት፡ ምስለ፡ ምእመናን፡ እምከርሠ፡ እሞሙ።
To fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; And it was created together with the faithful in the womb.
1:15
μετὰ ἀνθρώπων θεμέλιον αἰῶνος ἐνόσσευσεν καὶ μετὰ τοῦ σπέρματος αὐτῶν ἐμπιστευθήσεται
quibus autem apparuerit in visu diligunt eam in visione, et in agnitione magnalium suorum.
ወምስለ፡ ዕጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ ተፈጥረት፡ መሠረተ፡ ዓለም። ወተአምነት፡ ምስለ፡ ዘርዖሙ።
With men she laid an eternal foundation; And with their seed will she be had in trust.
1:16
πλησμονὴ σοφίας φοβεῖσθαι τὸν κύριον καὶ μεθύσκει αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν αὐτῆς
Initium sapientiæ timor Domini : et cum fidelibus in vulva concreatus est : cum electis feminis graditur, et cum justis et fidelibus agnoscitur.
ጸጊቦታ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር። ወታረውዮሙ፡ እምነ፡ ቀምሐ።
To fear the Lord is the fulness of wisdom; And she satiateth men with her fruits.
1:17
πάντα τὸν οἶκον αὐτῶν ἐμπλήσει ἐπιθυμημάτων καὶ τὰ ἀποδοχεῖα ἀπὸ τῶν γενημάτων αὐτῆς
Timor Domini scientiæ religiositas :
ምሉዕ፡ ትፍሥሕት፡ ውስተ፡ አብያቲሃ። ወውስተ፡ አዕጻዳቲሃ፡ ምሉዕ፡ ፍሬ።
She will fill all her house with desirable things, And her garners with her produce.
1:18
στέφανος σοφίας φόβος κυρίου ἀναθάλλων εἰρήνην καὶ ὑγίειαν ἰάσεως
religiositas custodiet et justificabit cor ; jucunditatem atque gaudium dabit.
አክሊላ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር። ወያመጽኣ፡ ለሰላም፡ ወይፌውሳ፡ ወየሐዩ።
The fear of the Lord is the crown of wisdom, Making peace and perfect health to flourish.
1:19
καὶ εἶδεν καὶ ἐξηρίθμησεν αὐτήν ἐπιστήμην καὶ γνῶσιν συνέσεως ἐξώμβρησεν καὶ δόξαν κρατούντων αὐτῆς ἀνύψωσεν
Timenti Dominum bene erit, et in diebus consummationis illius benedicetur.
ወርእያ፡ ፈጣሪሃ፡ ወሠፈራ። ወአውሐዘ፡ ነቅዐ፡ አእምሮ፡ ወምክር፡ ወጥበብ። ወአዕበዮሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ያጸንዕዋ፡ ወአክበሮሙ።
He both saw and counted her; He rained down skill and knowledge of understanding, And exalted the honor of those who hold her fast.
1:20
ῥίζα σοφίας φοβεῖσθαι τὸν κύριον καὶ οἱ κλάδοι αὐτῆς μακροημέρευσις
Plenitudo sapientiæ est timere Deum, et plenitudo a fructibus illius.
ሥርዋ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር። ወአዕፁቂሃኒ፡ ያነውኅ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ሕይወት።
To fear the Lord is the root of wisdom; And her branches are length of days.
1:21—
Omnem domum illius implebit a generationibus, et receptacula a thesauris illius.
ኢይክል፡ መዓትም፡ ወዐማፂ፡ ጸዲቀ። እስመ፡ በጊዜ፡ ይትመዐዕ፡ ይከውኖ፡ ድቀቱ።
She will fill all her house with her increase from generation to generation, and the storerooms with her treasures.
1:22
οὐ δυνήσεται θυμὸς ἄδικος δικαιωθῆναι ἡ γὰρ ῥοπὴ τοῦ θυμοῦ αὐτοῦ πτῶσις αὐτῷ
Corona sapientiæ timor Domini, replens pacem et salutis fructum :
እስከ፡ ተኀልፍ፡ ጊዜሃ፡ ተዐገሣ፡ ለመዓት፡ ወድኅረ፡ ታስተፌሥሐከ።
Unjust wrath can never be justified; For the sway of his wrath is his downfall.
1:23
ἕως καιροῦ ἀνθέξεται μακρόθυμος καὶ ὕστερον αὐτῷ ἀναδώσει εὐφροσύνη
et vidit, et dinumeravit eam : utraque autem sunt dona Dei.
እስከ፡ ትረክብ፡ ጊዜሁ፡ ኅባዕ፡ ነገረከ፡ ወይትናገሩ፡ ብዙኃን፡ በጥበብከ።
A man that is longsuffering will bear for a season, And afterward gladness will spring up to him;
1:24
ἕως καιροῦ κρύψει τοὺς λόγους αὐτοῦ καὶ χείλη πολλῶν ἐκδιηγήσεται σύνεσιν αὐτοῦ
Scientiam et intellectum prudentiæ sapientia compartietur, et gloriam tenentium se exaltat.
ውስተ፡ መዛግብቲሃ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ትምህርተ፡ አምሳል። ያስቈርሮ፡ ኃጥእ፡ ለፈራሄ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
He will hide his words for a season, And the lips of many will tell forth his understanding.
1:25
ἐν θησαυροῖς σοφίας παραβολαὶ ἐπιστήμης βδέλυγμα δὲ ἁμαρτωλῷ θεοσέβεια
Radix sapientiæ est timere Dominum, et rami illius longævi.
ለእመ፡ ታፈቅራ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ዕቀብ፡ ትእዛዛ። ወእግዚአብሔር፡ ይሁበከሃ።
A parable of knowledge is in the treasures of wisdom; But godliness is an abomination to a sinner.
1:26
ἐπιθυμήσας σοφίαν διατήρησον ἐντολάς καὶ κύριος χορηγήσει σοι αὐτήν
In thesauris sapientiæ intellectus et scientiæ religiositas : execratio autem peccatoribus sapientia.
ጥበብኒ፡ ወአእምሮኒ፡ ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ውእቱ። ወፈቃዱኒ፡ ሃይማኖት፡ ወየዋሃት።
If you desire wisdom, keep the commandments, And the Lord will give her to you freely:
1:27
σοφία γὰρ καὶ παιδεία φόβος κυρίου καὶ ἡ εὐδοκία αὐτοῦ πίστις καὶ πραότης
Timor Domini expellit peccatum :
ኢትርሳዕ፡ ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
For the fear of the Lord is wisdom and instruction; And in faith and meekness is his good pleasure.
1:28
μὴ ἀπειθήσῃς φόβῳ κυρίου καὶ μὴ προσέλθῃς αὐτῷ ἐν καρδίᾳ δισσῇ
nam qui sine timore est non poterit justificari : iracundia enim animositatis illius subversio illius est.
ወኢትፀመዶ፡ በክልኤ፡ ልብ፡ እንዘ፡ ትናፍቅ።
Disobey not the fear of the Lord; And come not to him with a double heart.
1:29
μὴ ὑποκριθῇς ἐν στόμασιν ἀνθρώπων καὶ ἐν τοῖς χείλεσίν σου πρόσεχε
Usque in tempus sustinebit patiens, et postea redditio jucunditatis.
ወኢትደቅ፡ ውስተ፡ አፈ፡ ሰብእ፡ ወዕቀብ፡ ከናፍሪከ።
Be not a hypocrite in the mouths of men; And take good heed to your lips.
1:30
μὴ ἐξύψου σεαυτόν ἵνα μὴ πέσῃς καὶ ἐπαγάγῃς τῇ ψυχῇ σου ἀτιμίαν καὶ ἀποκαλύψει κύριος τὰ κρυπτά σου καὶ ἐν μέσῳ συναγωγῆς καταβαλεῖ σε ὅτι οὐ προσῆλθες φόβῳ κυρίου καὶ ἡ καρδία σου πλήρης δόλου
Bonus sensus usque in tempus abscondet verba illius, et labia multorum enarrabunt sensum illius.
ወኢታዕቢ፡ ርእሰከ፡ ከመ፡ ኢትሕሠር፡ ወከመ፡ ኢትደቅ፡ ነፍስከ። ወይከሥተከ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኅቡዓቲከ፡ ወበማዕከለ፡ ብዙኃን። ያወድቀከ፡ እስመ፡ በፍርሀተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኢመጻእከ። ወምሉዕ፡ ጕሕሉት፡ ውስተ፡ ልብከ።
Exalt not yourself, lest you fall, And bring dishonor upon your soul; And so the Lord will reveal your secrets, And will cast you down in the midst of the congregation; Because you came not to the fear of the Lord, And your heart was full of deceit.
