11:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐδόθη μοι κάλαμος ὅμοιος ῥάβδῳ , λέγων · ἔγειρε καὶ μέτρησον τὸν ναὸν τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον καὶ τοὺς προσκυνοῦντας ἐν αὐτῷ .
Et datus est mihi calamus similis virgae , et dictum est mihi : Surge , et metire templum Dei , et altare , et adorantes in eo :
ወመጠወኒ ኅለተ ወርቅ ዘመጠነ በትር ወይቤለኒ ንሣእ ወመጥን ቤተ መቅደሱ ለእግዚአብሔር ወምሥዋዖ ወኀበሂ ይሰግዱ ሎቱ ።
A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, “Rise and measure God’s temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it.
11:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τὴν αὐλὴν τὴν ἔξωθεν τοῦ ναοῦ ἔκβαλε ἔξωθεν καὶ μὴ αὐτὴν μετρήσῃς , ὅτι ἐδόθη τοῖς ἔθνεσιν , καὶ τὴν πόλιν τὴν ἁγίαν πατήσουσιν μῆνας τεσσεράκοντα δύο .
atrium autem , quod est foris templum , ejice foras , et ne metiaris illud : quoniam datum est gentibus , et civitatem sanctam calcabunt mensibus quadraginta duobus :
ወዐጸደሰ ጸናፌ ኅድግ ወኢትመጥን እስመ ተውህበት ለአሕዛብ በዛ ሀገር ቅድስት ወይትካየድዋ አርብዓ ወክልኤተ አውራኀ ።
Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don’t measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.
11:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ δώσω τοῖς δυσὶν μάρτυσίν μου , καὶ προφητεύσουσιν ἡμέρας χιλίας διακοσίας ἑξήκοντα περιβεβλημένοι σάκκους .
et dabo duobus testibus meis , et prophetabunt diebus mille ducentis sexaginta , amicti saccis .
ወእኤዝዞሙ ለክልኤቱ ጻድቃንየ ከመ ይትነበዩ መዋዕለ ዐሠርተ ወክልኤተ ምእተ ወስሳ እንዘ ሠቀ ይለብሱ ።
I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
11:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὗτοί εἰσιν αἱ δύο ἐλαῖαι καὶ αἱ δύο λυχνίαι αἱ ἐνώπιον τοῦ κυρίου τῆς γῆς ἑστῶτες .
Hi sunt duae olivae et duo candelabra in conspectu Domini terrae stantes .
ወእሉ እሙንቱ ክልኤ ዕፀ ዘይት ወክልኤ መኃትው እለ ቅድመ እግዚአብሔር እለ ሥዩማን ላዕለ ምድር ።
These are the two olive trees and the two lamp stands, standing before the Lord of the earth.
11:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἴ τις αὐτοὺς θέλει ἀδικῆσαι , πῦρ ἐκπορεύεται ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτῶν καὶ κατεσθίει τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτῶν · καὶ εἴ τις θελήσῃ αὐτοὺς ἀδικῆσαι , οὕτως δεῖ αὐτὸν ἀποκτανθῆναι .
Et si quis voluerit eos nocere , ignis exiet de ore eorum , et devorabit inimicos eorum : et si quis voluerit eos laedere , sic oportet eum occidi .
ወለዘፈቀደ ይስሐጦሙ እምውስተ ጸላእቶሙ ትወፅእ እሳት እምነ አፉሆሙ ወታጠፍኦሙ ለጸላእቶሙ ወከመዝ ይመውቱ እለ ይስሕጥዎሙ ።
If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way.
11:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὗτοι ἔχουσιν ἐξουσίαν κλεῖσαι τὸν οὐρανόν , ἵνα μὴ ὑετὸς βρέχῃ τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς προφητείας αὐτῶν , καὶ ἐξουσίαν ἔχουσιν ἐπὶ τῶν ὑδάτων στρέφειν αὐτὰ εἰς αἷμα καὶ πατάξαι τὴν γῆν ἐν πάσῃ πληγῇ ὁσάκις ἐὰν θελήσωσιν .
Hi habent potestatem claudendi caelum , ne pluat diebus prophetiae ipsorum : et potestatem habent super aquas convertendi eas in sanguinem , et percutere terram omni plaga quotiescumque voluerint .
እስመ እሙንቱ ሥሉጣን ላዕለ ሰማይ ከመ ይዕጽውዋ ከመ ኢይዝንም ዝናም ላዕለ ምድር በመዋዕለ ትንቢቶሙ ወዓዲ ሥሉጣን እሙንቱ ላዕለ ማይ ከመ ይረስይዎ ደመ ወያሕምምዋ ለምድር በኵሉ መቅሠፍት መጠነ ፈቀዱ ።
These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.
11:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὅταν τελέσωσιν τὴν μαρτυρίαν αὐτῶν , τὸ θηρίον τὸ ἀναβαῖνον ἐκ τῆς ἀβύσσου ποιήσει μετ’ αὐτῶν πόλεμον καὶ νικήσει αὐτοὺς καὶ ἀποκτενεῖ αὐτούς .
Et cum finierint testimonium suum , bestia , quae ascendit de abysso , faciet adversum eos bellum , et vincet illos , et occidet eos .
ወሶበ ፈጸሙ ስምዖሙ ወትንቢቶሙ አርዌ ዘዐርገ እምቀላይ ተበአሰ ምስሌሆሙ ወሞኦሙ ወቀተሎሙ ።
When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.
11:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τὸ πτῶμα αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τῆς πλατείας τῆς πόλεως τῆς μεγάλης , ἥτις καλεῖται πνευματικῶς Σόδομα καὶ Αἴγυπτος , ὅπου καὶ ὁ κύριος αὐτῶν ἐσταυρώθη .
Et corpora eorum jacebunt in plateis civitatis magnae , quae vocatur spiritualiter Sodoma , et Aegyptus , ubi et Dominus eorum crucifixus est .
ወአንበረ በድኖሙ ውስተ ሀገር ዐባይ እንተ ስማ ፍጥሞ ዘበኅቡእ ሰዶም ወግብጽ ኀበ ተጸልበ እግዚኦሙ ።
Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
11:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ βλέπουσιν ἐκ τῶν λαῶν καὶ φυλῶν καὶ γλωσσῶν καὶ ἐθνῶν τὸ πτῶμα αὐτῶν ἡμέρας τρεῖς καὶ ἥμισυ , καὶ τὰ πτώματα αὐτῶν οὐκ ἀφίουσιν τεθῆναι εἰς μνῆμα .
Et videbunt de tribubus , et populis , et linguis , et gentibus corpora eorum per tres dies et dimidium : et corpora eorum non sinent poni in monumentis :
ወይሬእይዎ አሕዛብ ወሕዝብ ወነገድ ወበሐውርት ለበድኖሙ ሠሉሰ መዋዕለ ወመንፈቀ ወኢያበውሕ ይቅብርዎ ውስተ መቃብር ለበድኖሙ ።
From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations, people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.
11:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς χαίρουσιν ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς καὶ εὐφραίνονται , καὶ δῶρα πέμπουσιν ἀλλήλοις , ὅτι οὗτοι οἱ δύο προφῆται ἐβασάνισαν τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς .
et inhabitantes terram gaudebunt super illos , et jucundabuntur : et munera mittent invicem , quoniam hi duo prophetae cruciaverunt eos , qui habitabant super terram .
ወይትፌሥሑ ላዕሌሆሙ እለ ይነብሩ ዲበ ምድር ወይጻገዉ በበይናቲሆሙ አምኃ ወይብሉ እስመ እሉ ክልኤቱ ነቢያት አሕመምዎሙ ለእለ ይነብሩ ዲበ ምድር ።
Those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
11:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ μετὰ τὰς τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ ἥμισυ πνεῦμα ζωῆς ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ εἰσῆλθεν ἐν αὐτοῖς , καὶ ἔστησαν ἐπὶ τοὺς πόδας αὐτῶν , καὶ φόβος μέγας ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τοὺς θεωροῦντας αὐτούς .
Et post dies tres et dimidium , spiritus vitae a Deo intravit in eos . Et steterunt super pedes suos , et timor magnus cecidit super eos qui viderunt eos .
ወእምድኅረ ሠሉስ መዋዕል ወመንፈቅ ትመጽእ መንፈሰ ሕይወት እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ወትበውእ ውስቴቶሙ ወይትነሥኡ ወይቀውሙ በእገሪሆሙ ወኮነ ፍርሀት ዐቢይ ላዕለ እለ ይሬእይዎሙ ።
After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.
11:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἤκουσαν φωνὴν μεγάλην ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ λέγουσαν αὐτοῖς · ἀνάβατε ὧδε · καὶ ἀνέβησαν εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἐν τῇ νεφέλῃ , καὶ ἐθεώρησαν αὐτοὺς οἱ ἐχθροὶ αὐτῶν .
Et audierunt vocem magnam de caelo , dicentem eis : Ascendite huc . Et ascenderunt in caelum in nube : et viderunt illos inimici eorum .
ወመጽአ ቃል እምሰማይ ወይቤሎሙ ዕርጉ ዝየ ወእምዝ ዐርጉ ውስተ ሰማይ በደመና ወርእይዎሙ ጸላእቶሙ ።
I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” They went up into heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them.
11:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐγένετο σεισμὸς μέγας , καὶ τὸ δέκατον τῆς πόλεως ἔπεσεν , καὶ ἀπεκτάνθησαν ἐν τῷ σεισμῷ ὀνόματα ἀνθρώπων χιλιάδες ἑπτά , καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ ἔμφοβοι ἐγένοντο καὶ ἔδωκαν δόξαν τῷ θεῷ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ .
Et in illa hora factus est terraemotus magnus , et decima pars civitatis cecidit : et occisa sunt in terraemotu nomina hominum septem millia : et reliqui in timorem sunt missi , et dederunt gloriam Deo caeli .
ወበይእቲ ሰዓት ኮነ ዐቢይ ድልቅልቅ ወወድቀ ዐሠርተ እዴሃ ለይእቲ ሀገር ወሞቱ በውእቱ ድልቅልቅ ሰብዓ ምእት ነፍስ ወደንገፁ እለ ተርፉ ወሰብሕዎ ወአእኰትዎ ለአምላከ ሰማይ ።
In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
11:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἡ οὐαὶ ἡ δευτέρα ἀπῆλθεν · ἰδοὺ ἡ οὐαὶ ἡ τρίτη ἔρχεται ταχύ .
Vae secundum abiit : et ecce vae tertium veniet cito .
ወበዝ ኀለፈት ካልእት ሕማም ወተርፈት ሣልሲት ሕማም ።
The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly.
11:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ὁ ἕβδομος ἄγγελος ἐσάλπισεν · καὶ ἐγένοντο φωναὶ μεγάλαι ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ λέγοντες , ἐγένετο ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ κόσμου τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν καὶ τοῦ Χριστοῦ αὐτοῦ , καὶ βασιλεύσει εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων .
Et septimus angelus tuba cecinit : et factae sunt voces magnae in caelo dicentes : Factum est regnum hujus mundi , Domini nostri et Christi ejus , et regnabit in saecula saeculorum . Amen .
ወሶበ ጠቅዐ ሳብዕ መልአክ መጽአ ቃል ዐቢይ እምሰማይ ዘይብል ኮነት መንግሥተ ዓለም ለእግዚአብሔር ወለመሲሑ ወይነግሥ ለዓለመ ዓለም ።
The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!”
11:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οἱ εἴκοσι τέσσαρες πρεσβύτεροι οἱ ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ οἳ κάθηνται ἐπὶ τοὺς θρόνους αὐτῶν , ἔπεσαν ἐπὶ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ θεῷ ,
Et viginti quatuor seniores , qui in conspectu Dei sedent in sedibus suis , ceciderunt in facies suas , et adoraverunt Deum , dicentes :
ወእልክቱኒ ዕሥራ ወአርባዕቱ ሊቃናት እለ ይነብሩ ቅድመ እግዚአብሔር በበ መናብርቲሆሙ ሰገዱ በገጾሙ ቅድመ እግዚአብሔር ።
The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God’s throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God,
11:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγοντες · εὐχαριστοῦμέν σοι , κύριε ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ , ὁ ὢν καὶ ὁ ἦν , καὶ ὅτι εἴληφας τὴν δύναμίν σου τὴν μεγάλην καὶ ἐβασίλευσας ,
Gratias agimus tibi , Domine Deus omnipotens , qui es , et qui eras , et qui venturus es : quia accepisti virtutem tuam magnam , et regnasti .
ወይቤሉ ነአኵተከ እግዚኦ እግዚአብሔር ዘኵሎ ትመልክ ዘሀሎከ ወትሄሉ እስመ አንሣእከ ኀይለከ ዐቢየ ወነሣእከ መንግሥተ ።
saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and reigned.
11:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τὰ ἔθνη ὠργίσθησαν , καὶ ἦλθεν ἡ ὀργή σου καὶ ὁ καιρὸς τῶν νεκρῶν κριθῆναι καὶ δοῦναι τὸν μισθὸν τοῖς δούλοις σου τοῖς προφήταις καὶ τοῖς ἁγίοις καὶ τοῖς φοβουμένοις τὸ ὄνομά σου , τοῖς μικροῖς καὶ τοῖς μεγάλοις , καὶ διαφθεῖραι τοὺς διαφθείροντας τὴν γῆν .
Et iratae sunt gentes , et advenit ira tua et tempus mortuorum judicari , et reddere mercedem servis tuis prophetis , et sanctis , et timentibus nomen tuum pusillis et magnis , et exterminandi eos qui corruperunt terram .
ወአሕዛብሰ ተምዑ እስመ በጽሖሙ መዓትከ ወዘመኖሙ ለሙታን በዘይትኴነኑ ወከመ ተሀቦሙ ዕሴቶሙ ለአግብርቲከ ለነቢያት ወለቅዱሳን ወለእለ ይፈርሁ ስመከ ለንኡሶሙ ወለዐቢዮሙ ወከመ ትኰንኖሙ ለእለ ያማስንዋ ለምድር ።
The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints and those who fear your name, to the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”
11:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἠνοίγη ὁ ναὸς τοῦ θεοῦ ὁ ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ , καὶ ὤφθη ἡ κιβωτὸς τῆς διαθήκης αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ ναῷ αὐτοῦ · καὶ ἐγένοντο ἀστραπαὶ καὶ φωναὶ καὶ βρονταὶ καὶ σεισμὸς καὶ χάλαζα μεγάλη .
Et apertum est templum Dei in caelo : et visa est arca testamenti ejus in templo ejus , et facta sunt fulgura , et voces , et terraemotus , et grando magna .
ወእምዝ ተርኅወ መቅደሱ ለእግዚአብሔር ዘውስተ ሰማይ ወአስተርአየት ታቦተ ሕጉ ለእግዚአብሔር እንተ ውስተ መቅደሱ ወመጽአ መብረቅ ወቃለ ነጐድጓድ ወድልቅልቅ ወበረድ ዐቢይ ።
God’s temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.
