78:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ מַשְׂכִּ֗יל לְאָ֫סָ֥ף הַאֲזִ֣ינָה עַ֭מִּי תּוֹרָתִ֑י הַטּ֥וּ אׇ֝זְנְכֶ֗ם לְאִמְרֵי ־פִֽי ׃
συνέσεως τῷ Ασαφ προσέχετε λαός μου τὸν νόμον μου κλίνατε τὸ οὖς ὑμῶν εἰς τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ στόματός μου
Intellectus Asaph . Attendite , popule meus , legem meam ; inclinate aurem vestram in verba oris mei .
— Hear my teaching, my people. Turn your ears to the words of my mouth.
78:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֶפְתְּחָ֣ה בְמָשָׁ֣ל פִּ֑י אַבִּ֥יעָה חִ֝יד֗וֹת מִנִּי ־קֶֽדֶם ׃
ἀνοίξω ἐν παραβολαῖς τὸ στόμα μου φθέγξομαι προβλήματα ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς
Aperiam in parabolis os meum ; loquar propositiones ab initio .
— I will open my mouth in a parable. I will utter dark sayings of old,
78:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁ֭מַעְנוּ וַנֵּדָעֵ֑ם וַ֝אֲבוֹתֵ֗ינוּ סִפְּרוּ ־לָֽנוּ ׃
ὅσα ἠκούσαμεν καὶ ἔγνωμεν αὐτὰ καὶ οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν διηγήσαντο ἡμῖν
Quanta audivimus , et cognovimus ea , et patres nostri narraverunt nobis .
— which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
78:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹ֤א נְכַחֵ֨ד ׀ מִבְּנֵיהֶ֗ם לְד֥וֹר אַחֲר֗וֹן מְֽ֭סַפְּרִים תְּהִלּ֣וֹת יְהֹוָ֑ה וֶעֱזוּז֥וֹ וְ֝נִפְלְאֹתָ֗יו אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָֽׂה ׃
οὐκ ἐκρύβη ἀπὸ τῶν τέκνων αὐτῶν εἰς γενεὰν ἑτέραν ἀπαγγέλλοντες τὰς αἰνέσεις τοῦ κυρίου καὶ τὰς δυναστείας αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ θαυμάσια αὐτοῦ ἃ ἐποίησεν
Non sunt occultata a filiis eorum in generatione altera , narrantes laudes Domini et virtutes ejus , et mirabilia ejus quae fecit .
— We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of Yahweh, his strength, and his wondrous deeds that he has done.
78:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּ֤קֶם עֵד֨וּת ׀ בְּֽיַעֲקֹ֗ב וְתוֹרָה֮ שָׂ֤ם בְּיִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִ֭וָּה אֶת ־אֲבוֹתֵ֑ינוּ לְ֝הוֹדִיעָ֗ם לִבְנֵיהֶֽם ׃
καὶ ἀνέστησεν μαρτύριον ἐν Ιακωβ καὶ νόμον ἔθετο ἐν Ισραηλ ὅσα ἐνετείλατο τοῖς πατράσιν ἡμῶν τοῦ γνωρίσαι αὐτὰ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτῶν
Et suscitavit testimonium in Jacob , et legem posuit in Israël , quanta mandavit patribus nostris nota facere ea filiis suis :
— For he established a covenant in Jacob, and appointed a teaching in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children;
78:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ לְמַ֤עַן יֵדְע֨וּ ׀ דּ֣וֹר אַ֭חֲרוֹן בָּנִ֣ים יִוָּלֵ֑דוּ יָ֝קֻ֗מוּ וִיסַפְּר֥וּ לִבְנֵיהֶֽם ׃
ὅπως ἂν γνῷ γενεὰ ἑτέρα υἱοὶ οἱ τεχθησόμενοι καὶ ἀναστήσονται καὶ ἀπαγγελοῦσιν αὐτὰ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτῶν
ut cognoscat generatio altera : filii qui nascentur et exsurgent , et narrabunt filiis suis ,
— that the generation to come might know, even the children who should be born; who should arise and tell their children,
78:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיָשִׂ֥ימוּ בֵאלֹהִ֗ים כִּ֫סְלָ֥ם וְלֹ֣א יִ֭שְׁכְּחוּ מַ֥עַלְלֵי ־אֵ֑ל וּמִצְוֺתָ֥יו יִנְצֹֽרוּ ׃
ἵνα θῶνται ἐπὶ τὸν θεὸν τὴν ἐλπίδα αὐτῶν καὶ μὴ ἐπιλάθωνται τῶν ἔργων τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ ἐκζητήσουσιν
ut ponant in Deo spem suam , et non obliviscantur operum Dei , et mandata ejus exquirant :
— that they might set their hope in God, and not forget God’s deeds, but keep his commandments,
78:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹ֤א יִהְי֨וּ ׀ כַּאֲבוֹתָ֗ם דּוֹר֮ סוֹרֵ֢ר וּמֹ֫רֶ֥ה דּ֭וֹר לֹא ־הֵכִ֣ין לִבּ֑וֹ וְלֹֽא ־נֶאֶמְנָ֖ה אֶת ־אֵ֣ל רוּחֽוֹ ׃
ἵνα μὴ γένωνται ὡς οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν γενεὰ σκολιὰ καὶ παραπικραίνουσα γενεά ἥτις οὐ κατηύθυνεν τὴν καρδίαν αὐτῆς καὶ οὐκ ἐπιστώθη μετὰ τοῦ θεοῦ τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτῆς
ne fiant , sicut patres eorum , generatio prava et exasperans ; generatio quae non direxit cor suum , et non est creditus cum Deo spiritus ejus .
— and might not be as their fathers— a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that didn’t make their hearts loyal, whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
78:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ בְּֽנֵי ־אֶפְרַ֗יִם נוֹשְׁקֵ֥י רֽוֹמֵי ־קָ֑שֶׁת הָ֝פְכ֗וּ בְּי֣וֹם קְרָֽב ׃
υἱοὶ Εφραιμ ἐντείνοντες καὶ βάλλοντες τόξοις ἐστράφησαν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ πολέμου
Filii Ephrem , intendentes et mittentes arcum , conversi sunt in die belli .
— The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.
78:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹ֣א שָׁ֭מְרוּ בְּרִ֣ית אֱלֹהִ֑ים וּ֝בְתוֹרָת֗וֹ מֵאֲנ֥וּ לָלֶֽכֶת ׃
οὐκ ἐφύλαξαν τὴν διαθήκην τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐν τῷ νόμῳ αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἤθελον πορεύεσθαι
Non custodierunt testamentum Dei , et in lege ejus noluerunt ambulare .
— They didn’t keep God’s covenant, and refused to walk in his law.
78:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁכְּח֥וּ עֲלִילוֹתָ֑יו וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֶרְאָֽם ׃
καὶ ἐπελάθοντο τῶν εὐεργεσιῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ τῶν θαυμασίων αὐτοῦ ὧν ἔδειξεν αὐτοῖς
Et obliti sunt benefactorum ejus , et mirabilium ejus quae ostendit eis .
— They forgot his doings, his wondrous deeds that he had shown them.
78:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ נֶ֣גֶד אֲ֭בוֹתָם עָ֣שָׂה פֶ֑לֶא בְּאֶ֖רֶץ מִצְרַ֣יִם שְׂדֵה ־צֹֽעַן ׃
ἐναντίον τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν ἃ ἐποίησεν θαυμάσια ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐν πεδίῳ Τάνεως
Coram patribus eorum fecit mirabilia in terra Aegypti , in campo Taneos .
— He did marvelous things in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
78:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ בָּ֣קַע יָ֭ם וַיַּעֲבִירֵ֑ם וַֽיַּצֶּב ־מַ֥יִם כְּמוֹ ־נֵֽד ׃
διέρρηξεν θάλασσαν καὶ διήγαγεν αὐτούς ἔστησεν ὕδατα ὡσεὶ ἀσκὸν
Interrupit mare , et perduxit eos , et statuit aquas quasi in utre :
— He split the sea, and caused them to pass through. He made the waters stand as a heap.
78:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּנְחֵ֣ם בֶּעָנָ֣ן יוֹמָ֑ם וְכׇל ־הַ֝לַּ֗יְלָה בְּא֣וֹר אֵֽשׁ ׃
καὶ ὡδήγησεν αὐτοὺς ἐν νεφέλῃ ἡμέρας καὶ ὅλην τὴν νύκτα ἐν φωτισμῷ πυρός
et deduxit eos in nube diei , et tota nocte in illuminatione ignis .
— In the daytime he also led them with a cloud, and all night with a light of fire.
78:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ יְבַקַּ֣ע צֻ֭רִים בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר וַ֝יַּ֗שְׁקְ כִּתְהֹמ֥וֹת רַבָּֽה ׃
διέρρηξεν πέτραν ἐν ἐρήμῳ καὶ ἐπότισεν αὐτοὺς ὡς ἐν ἀβύσσῳ πολλῇ
Interrupit petram in eremo , et adaquavit eos velut in abysso multa .
— He split rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.
78:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיּוֹצִ֣א נוֹזְלִ֣ים מִסָּ֑לַע וַיּ֖וֹרֶד כַּנְּהָר֣וֹת מָֽיִם ׃
καὶ ἐξήγαγεν ὕδωρ ἐκ πέτρας καὶ κατήγαγεν ὡς ποταμοὺς ὕδατα
Et eduxit aquam de petra , et deduxit tamquam flumina aquas .
— He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
78:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיּוֹסִ֣יפוּ ע֭וֹד לַחֲטֹא ־ל֑וֹ לַֽמְר֥וֹת עֶ֝לְי֗וֹן בַּצִּיָּֽה ׃
καὶ προσέθεντο ἔτι τοῦ ἁμαρτάνειν αὐτῷ παρεπίκραναν τὸν ὕψιστον ἐν ἀνύδρῳ
Et apposuerunt adhuc peccare ei ; in iram excitaverunt Excelsum in inaquoso .
— Yet they still went on to sin against him, to rebel against the Most High in the desert.
78:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְנַסּוּ ־אֵ֥ל בִּלְבָבָ֑ם לִֽשְׁאׇל ־אֹ֥כֶל לְנַפְשָֽׁם ׃
καὶ ἐξεπείρασαν τὸν θεὸν ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις αὐτῶν τοῦ αἰτῆσαι βρώματα ταῖς ψυχαῖς αὐτῶν
Et tentaverunt Deum in cordibus suis , ut peterent escas animabus suis .
— They tempted God in their heart by asking food according to their desire.
78:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיְדַבְּר֗וּ בֵּאלֹ֫הִ֥ים אָ֭מְרוּ הֲי֣וּכַל אֵ֑ל לַעֲרֹ֥ךְ שֻׁ֝לְחָ֗ן בַּמִּדְבָּֽר ׃
καὶ κατελάλησαν τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ εἶπαν μὴ δυνήσεται ὁ θεὸς ἑτοιμάσαι τράπεζαν ἐν ἐρήμῳ
Et male locuti sunt de Deo ; dixerunt : Numquid poterit Deus parare mensam in deserto ?
— Yes, they spoke against God. They said, “Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
78:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֵ֤ן הִכָּה ־צ֨וּר ׀ וַיָּז֣וּבוּ מַיִם֮ וּנְחָלִ֢ים יִ֫שְׁטֹ֥פוּ הֲגַם ־לֶ֭חֶם י֣וּכַל תֵּ֑ת אִם ־יָכִ֖ין שְׁאֵ֣ר לְעַמּֽוֹ ׃
ἐπεὶ ἐπάταξεν πέτραν καὶ ἐρρύησαν ὕδατα καὶ χείμαρροι κατεκλύσθησαν μὴ καὶ ἄρτον δύναται δοῦναι ἢ ἑτοιμάσαι τράπεζαν τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ
quoniam percussit petram , et fluxerunt aquae , et torrentes inundaverunt . Numquid et panem poterit dare , aut parare mensam populo suo ?
— Behold, he struck the rock, so that waters gushed out, and streams overflowed. Can he give bread also? Will he provide meat for his people?”
78:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵ֤ן ׀ שָׁמַ֥ע יְהֹוָ֗ה וַֽיִּתְעַ֫בָּ֥ר וְ֭אֵשׁ נִשְּׂקָ֣ה בְיַעֲקֹ֑ב וְגַם ־אַ֝֗ף עָלָ֥ה בְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
διὰ τοῦτο ἤκουσεν κύριος καὶ ἀνεβάλετο καὶ πῦρ ἀνήφθη ἐν Ιακωβ καὶ ὀργὴ ἀνέβη ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ
Ideo audivit Dominus et distulit ; et ignis accensus est in Jacob , et ira ascendit in Israël :
— Therefore Yahweh heard, and was angry. A fire was kindled against Jacob, anger also went up against Israel,
78:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֤י לֹ֣א הֶ֭אֱמִינוּ בֵּאלֹהִ֑ים וְלֹ֥א בָ֝טְח֗וּ בִּישׁוּעָתֽוֹ ׃
ὅτι οὐκ ἐπίστευσαν ἐν τῷ θεῷ οὐδὲ ἤλπισαν ἐπὶ τὸ σωτήριον αὐτοῦ
quia non crediderunt in Deo , nec speraverunt in salutari ejus .
— because they didn’t believe in God, and didn’t trust in his salvation.
78:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְצַ֣ו שְׁחָקִ֣ים מִמָּ֑עַל וְדַלְתֵ֖י שָׁמַ֣יִם פָּתָֽח ׃
καὶ ἐνετείλατο νεφέλαις ὑπεράνωθεν καὶ θύρας οὐρανοῦ ἀνέῳξεν
Et mandavit nubibus desuper , et januas caeli aperuit .
— Yet he commanded the skies above, and opened the doors of heaven.
78:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּמְטֵ֬ר עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם מָ֣ן לֶאֱכֹ֑ל וּדְגַן ־שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם נָ֣תַן לָֽמוֹ ׃
καὶ ἔβρεξεν αὐτοῖς μαννα φαγεῖν καὶ ἄρτον οὐρανοῦ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς
Et pluit illis manna ad manducandum , et panem caeli dedit eis .
— He rained down manna on them to eat, and gave them food from the sky.
78:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֶ֣חֶם אַ֭בִּירִים אָ֣כַל אִ֑ישׁ צֵידָ֬ה שָׁלַ֖ח לָהֶ֣ם לָשֹֽׂבַע ׃
ἄρτον ἀγγέλων ἔφαγεν ἄνθρωπος ἐπισιτισμὸν ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοῖς εἰς πλησμονήν
Panem angelorum manducavit homo ; cibaria misit eis in abundantia .
— Man ate the bread of angels. He sent them food to the full.
78:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ יַסַּ֣ע קָ֭דִים בַּשָּׁמָ֑יִם וַיְנַהֵ֖ג בְּעֻזּ֣וֹ תֵימָֽן ׃
ἀπῆρεν νότον ἐξ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἐπήγαγεν ἐν τῇ δυναστείᾳ αὐτοῦ λίβα
Transtulit austrum de caelo , et induxit in virtute sua africum .
— He caused the east wind to blow in the sky. By his power he guided the south wind.
78:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּמְטֵ֬ר עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם כֶּעָפָ֣ר שְׁאֵ֑ר וּֽכְח֥וֹל יַ֝מִּ֗ים ע֣וֹף כָּנָֽף ׃
καὶ ἔβρεξεν ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς ὡσεὶ χοῦν σάρκας καὶ ὡσεὶ ἄμμον θαλασσῶν πετεινὰ πτερωτά
Et pluit super eos sicut pulverem carnes , et sicut arenam maris volatilia pennata .
— He also rained meat on them as the dust, winged birds as the sand of the seas.
78:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֭יַּפֵּל בְּקֶ֣רֶב מַחֲנֵ֑הוּ סָ֝בִ֗יב לְמִשְׁכְּנֹתָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐπέπεσον εἰς μέσον τῆς παρεμβολῆς αὐτῶν κύκλῳ τῶν σκηνωμάτων αὐτῶν
Et ceciderunt in medio castrorum eorum , circa tabernacula eorum .
— He let them fall in the middle of their camp, around their habitations.
78:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּאכְל֣וּ וַיִּשְׂבְּע֣וּ מְאֹ֑ד וְ֝תַאֲוָתָ֗ם יָבִ֥א לָהֶֽם ׃
καὶ ἐφάγοσαν καὶ ἐνεπλήσθησαν σφόδρα καὶ τὴν ἐπιθυμίαν αὐτῶν ἤνεγκεν αὐτοῖς
Et manducaverunt , et saturati sunt nimis , et desiderium eorum attulit eis :
— So they ate, and were well filled. He gave them their own desire.
78:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹא ־זָ֥רוּ מִתַּאֲוָתָ֑ם ע֝֗וֹד אׇכְלָ֥ם בְּפִיהֶֽם ׃
οὐκ ἐστερήθησαν ἀπὸ τῆς ἐπιθυμίας αὐτῶν ἔτι τῆς βρώσεως αὐτῶν οὔσης ἐν τῷ στόματι αὐτῶν
non sunt fraudati a desiderio suo . Adhuc escae eorum erant in ore ipsorum ,
— They didn’t turn from their cravings. Their food was yet in their mouths,
78:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַ֤ף אֱלֹהִ֨ים ׀ עָ֘לָ֤ה בָהֶ֗ם וַֽ֭יַּהֲרֹג בְּמִשְׁמַנֵּיהֶ֑ם וּבַחוּרֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל הִכְרִֽיעַ ׃
καὶ ὀργὴ τοῦ θεοῦ ἀνέβη ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν ἐν τοῖς πίοσιν αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς τοῦ Ισραηλ συνεπόδισεν
et ira Dei ascendit super eos : et occidit pingues eorum , et electos Israël impedivit .
— when the anger of God went up against them, killed some of their strongest, and struck down the young men of Israel.
78:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ בְּכׇל ־זֹ֥את חָֽטְאוּ ־ע֑וֹד וְלֹֽא ־הֶ֝אֱמִ֗ינוּ בְּנִפְלְאוֹתָֽיו ׃
ἐν πᾶσιν τούτοις ἥμαρτον ἔτι καὶ οὐκ ἐπίστευσαν ἐν τοῖς θαυμασίοις αὐτοῦ
In omnibus his peccaverunt adhuc , et non crediderunt in mirabilibus ejus .
— For all this they still sinned, and didn’t believe in his wondrous works.
78:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְכַל ־בַּהֶ֥בֶל יְמֵיהֶ֑ם וּ֝שְׁנוֹתָ֗ם בַּבֶּהָלָֽה ׃
καὶ ἐξέλιπον ἐν ματαιότητι αἱ ἡμέραι αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ ἔτη αὐτῶν μετὰ σπουδῆς
Et defecerunt in vanitate dies eorum , et anni eorum cum festinatione .
— Therefore he consumed their days in vanity, and their years in terror.
78:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ אִם ־הֲרָגָ֥ם וּדְרָשׁ֑וּהוּ וְ֝שָׁ֗בוּ וְשִֽׁחֲרוּ ־אֵֽל ׃
ὅταν ἀπέκτεννεν αὐτούς ἐξεζήτουν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐπέστρεφον καὶ ὤρθριζον πρὸς τὸν θεὸν
Cum occideret eos , quaerebant eum et revertebantur , et diluculo veniebant ad eum .
— When he killed them, then they inquired after him. They returned and sought God earnestly.
78:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽ֭יִּזְכְּרוּ כִּֽי ־אֱלֹהִ֣ים צוּרָ֑ם וְאֵ֥ל עֶ֝לְי֗וֹן גֹּאֲלָֽם ׃
καὶ ἐμνήσθησαν ὅτι ὁ θεὸς βοηθὸς αὐτῶν ἐστιν καὶ ὁ θεὸς ὁ ὕψιστος λυτρωτὴς αὐτῶν ἐστιν
Et rememorati sunt quia Deus adjutor est eorum , et Deus excelsus redemptor eorum est .
— They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God, their redeemer.
78:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְפַתּ֥וּהוּ בְּפִיהֶ֑ם וּ֝בִלְשׁוֹנָ֗ם יְכַזְּבוּ ־לֽוֹ ׃
καὶ ἠπάτησαν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ στόματι αὐτῶν καὶ τῇ γλώσσῃ αὐτῶν ἐψεύσαντο αὐτῷ
Et dilexerunt eum in ore suo , et lingua sua mentiti sunt ei ;
— But they flattered him with their mouth, and lied to him with their tongue.
78:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְ֭לִבָּם לֹא ־נָכ֣וֹן עִמּ֑וֹ וְלֹ֥א נֶ֝אֶמְנ֗וּ בִּבְרִיתֽוֹ ׃
ἡ δὲ καρδία αὐτῶν οὐκ εὐθεῖα μετ’ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ἐπιστώθησαν ἐν τῇ διαθήκῃ αὐτοῦ
cor autem eorum non erat rectum cum eo , nec fideles habiti sunt in testamento ejus .
— For their heart was not right with him, neither were they faithful in his covenant.
78:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְה֤וּא רַח֨וּם ׀ יְכַפֵּ֥ר עָוֺן֮ וְֽלֹא ־יַֽ֫שְׁחִ֥ית וְ֭הִרְבָּה לְהָשִׁ֣יב אַפּ֑וֹ וְלֹא ־יָ֝עִ֗יר כׇּל ־חֲמָתֽוֹ ׃
αὐτὸς δέ ἐστιν οἰκτίρμων καὶ ἱλάσεται ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτῶν καὶ οὐ διαφθερεῖ καὶ πληθυνεῖ τοῦ ἀποστρέψαι τὸν θυμὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐχὶ ἐκκαύσει πᾶσαν τὴν ὀργὴν αὐτοῦ
Ipse autem est misericors , et propitius fiet peccatis eorum , et non disperdet eos . Et abundavit ut averteret iram suam , et non accendit omnem iram suam .
— But he, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and didn’t destroy them. Yes, many times he turned his anger away, and didn’t stir up all his wrath.
78:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֭יִּזְכֹּר כִּֽי ־בָשָׂ֣ר הֵ֑מָּה ר֥וּחַ ה֝וֹלֵ֗ךְ וְלֹ֣א יָשֽׁוּב ׃
καὶ ἐμνήσθη ὅτι σάρξ εἰσιν πνεῦμα πορευόμενον καὶ οὐκ ἐπιστρέφον
Et recordatus est quia caro sunt , spiritus vadens et non rediens .
— He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes away, and doesn’t come again.
78:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ כַּ֭מָּה יַמְר֣וּהוּ בַמִּדְבָּ֑ר יַ֝עֲצִיב֗וּהוּ בִּישִׁימֽוֹן ׃
ποσάκις παρεπίκραναν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ παρώργισαν αὐτὸν ἐν γῇ ἀνύδρῳ
Quoties exacerbaverunt eum in deserto ; in iram concitaverunt eum in inaquoso ?
— How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness, and grieved him in the desert!
78:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּשׁ֣וּבוּ וַיְנַסּ֣וּ אֵ֑ל וּקְד֖וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל הִתְוֽוּ ׃
καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν καὶ ἐπείρασαν τὸν θεὸν καὶ τὸν ἅγιον τοῦ Ισραηλ παρώξυναν
Et conversi sunt , et tentaverunt Deum , et sanctum Israël exacerbaverunt .
— They turned again and tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Israel.
78:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹא ־זָכְר֥וּ אֶת ־יָד֑וֹ י֝֗וֹם אֲֽשֶׁר ־פָּדָ֥ם מִנִּי ־צָֽר ׃
οὐκ ἐμνήσθησαν τῆς χειρὸς αὐτοῦ ἡμέρας ἧς ἐλυτρώσατο αὐτοὺς ἐκ χειρὸς θλίβοντος
Non sunt recordati manus ejus , die qua redemit eos de manu tribulantis :
— They didn’t remember his hand, nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary;
78:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֲשֶׁר ־שָׂ֣ם בְּ֭מִצְרַיִם אֹתוֹתָ֑יו וּ֝מוֹפְתָ֗יו בִּשְׂדֵה ־צֹֽעַן ׃
ὡς ἔθετο ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ τὰ σημεῖα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ τέρατα αὐτοῦ ἐν πεδίῳ Τάνεως
sicut posuit in Aegypto signa sua , et prodigia sua in campo Taneos ;
— how he set his signs in Egypt, his wonders in the field of Zoan,
78:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּהֲפֹ֣ךְ לְ֭דָם יְאֹרֵיהֶ֑ם וְ֝נֹזְלֵיהֶ֗ם בַּל ־יִשְׁתָּיֽוּן ׃
καὶ μετέστρεψεν εἰς αἷμα τοὺς ποταμοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ ὀμβρήματα αὐτῶν ὅπως μὴ πίωσιν
et convertit in sanguinem flumina eorum , et imbres eorum , ne biberent .
— he turned their rivers into blood, and their streams, so that they could not drink.
78:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ יְשַׁלַּ֬ח בָּהֶ֣ם עָ֭רֹב וַיֹּאכְלֵ֑ם וּ֝צְפַרְדֵּ֗עַ וַתַּשְׁחִיתֵֽם ׃
ἐξαπέστειλεν εἰς αὐτοὺς κυνόμυιαν καὶ κατέφαγεν αὐτούς καὶ βάτραχον καὶ διέφθειρεν αὐτούς
Misit in eos coenomyiam , et comedit eos , et ranam , et disperdidit eos ;
— He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.
78:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּתֵּ֣ן לֶחָסִ֣יל יְבוּלָ֑ם וִ֝יגִיעָ֗ם לָאַרְבֶּֽה ׃
καὶ ἔδωκεν τῇ ἐρυσίβῃ τὸν καρπὸν αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς πόνους αὐτῶν τῇ ἀκρίδι
et dedit aerugini fructus eorum , et labores eorum locustae ;
— He also gave their increase to the caterpillar, and their labor to the locust.
78:47 ⧉ ⤴︎ יַהֲרֹ֣ג בַּבָּרָ֣ד גַּפְנָ֑ם וְ֝שִׁקְמוֹתָ֗ם בַּחֲנָמַֽל ׃
ἀπέκτεινεν ἐν χαλάζῃ τὴν ἄμπελον αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς συκαμίνους αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ πάχνῃ
et occidit in grandine vineas eorum , et moros eorum in pruina ;
— He destroyed their vines with hail, their sycamore fig trees with frost.
78:48 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּסְגֵּ֣ר לַבָּרָ֣ד בְּעִירָ֑ם וּ֝מִקְנֵיהֶ֗ם לָרְשָׁפִֽים ׃
καὶ παρέδωκεν εἰς χάλαζαν τὰ κτήνη αὐτῶν καὶ τὴν ὕπαρξιν αὐτῶν τῷ πυρί
et tradidit grandini jumenta eorum , et possessionem eorum igni ;
— He also gave over their livestock to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
78:49 ⧉ ⤴︎ יְשַׁלַּח ־בָּ֨ם ׀ חֲר֬וֹן אַפּ֗וֹ עֶבְרָ֣ה וָזַ֣עַם וְצָרָ֑ה מִ֝שְׁלַ֗חַת מַלְאֲכֵ֥י רָעִֽים ׃
ἐξαπέστειλεν εἰς αὐτοὺς ὀργὴν θυμοῦ αὐτοῦ θυμὸν καὶ ὀργὴν καὶ θλῖψιν ἀποστολὴν δῑ ἀγγέλων πονηρῶν
misit in eos iram indignationis suae , indignationem , et iram , et tribulationem , immissiones per angelos malos .
— He threw on them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, indignation, and trouble, and a band of angels of evil.
78:50 ⧉ ⤴︎ יְפַלֵּ֥ס נָתִ֗יב לְאַ֫פּ֥וֹ לֹא ־חָשַׂ֣ךְ מִמָּ֣וֶת נַפְשָׁ֑ם וְ֝חַיָּתָ֗ם לַדֶּ֥בֶר הִסְגִּֽיר ׃
ὡδοποίησεν τρίβον τῇ ὀργῇ αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐφείσατο ἀπὸ θανάτου τῶν ψυχῶν αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ κτήνη αὐτῶν εἰς θάνατον συνέκλεισεν
Viam fecit semitae irae suae : non pepercit a morte animabus eorum , et jumenta eorum in morte conclusit :
— He made a path for his anger. He didn’t spare their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence,
78:51 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֣ךְ כׇּל ־בְּכ֣וֹר בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם רֵאשִׁ֥ית א֝וֹנִ֗ים בְּאׇהֳלֵי ־חָֽם ׃
καὶ ἐπάταξεν πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ἀπαρχὴν τῶν πόνων αὐτῶν ἐν τοῖς σκηνώμασι Χαμ
et percussit omne primogenitum in terra Aegypti ; primitias omnis laboris eorum in tabernaculis Cham :
— and struck all the firstborn in Egypt, the chief of their strength in the tents of Ham.
78:52 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּסַּ֣ע כַּצֹּ֣אן עַמּ֑וֹ וַֽיְנַהֲגֵ֥ם כַּ֝עֵ֗דֶר בַּמִּדְבָּֽר ׃
καὶ ἀπῆρεν ὡς πρόβατα τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀνήγαγεν αὐτοὺς ὡς ποίμνιον ἐν ἐρήμῳ
et abstulit sicut oves populum suum , et perduxit eos tamquam gregem in deserto :
— But he led out his own people like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
78:53 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּנְחֵ֣ם לָ֭בֶטַח וְלֹ֣א פָחָ֑דוּ וְאֶת ־א֝וֹיְבֵיהֶ֗ם כִּסָּ֥ה הַיָּֽם ׃
καὶ ὡδήγησεν αὐτοὺς ἐν ἐλπίδι καὶ οὐκ ἐδειλίασαν καὶ τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτῶν ἐκάλυψεν θάλασσα
et deduxit eos in spe , et non timuerunt , et inimicos eorum operuit mare .
ዘበኣእምሮ ፡ ዘአሳፍ ። አፅምኡ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ ሕግየ ፤ ወጽልዉ ፡ እዝነክሙ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ቃለ ፡ አፉየ ።
He led them safely, so that they weren’t afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
78:54 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֭יְבִיאֵם אֶל ־גְּב֣וּל קׇדְשׁ֑וֹ הַר ־זֶ֝֗ה קָנְתָ֥ה יְמִינֽוֹ ׃
καὶ εἰσήγαγεν αὐτοὺς εἰς ὅριον ἁγιάσματος αὐτοῦ ὄρος τοῦτο ὃ ἐκτήσατο ἡ δεξιὰ αὐτοῦ
Et induxit eos in montem sanctificationis suae , montem quem acquisivit dextera ejus ; et ejecit a facie eorum gentes , et sorte divisit eis terram in funiculo distributionis ;
እከሥት ፡ በምሳሌ ፡ አፉየ ፤ ወእነግር ፡ አምሳለ ፡ ዘእምትካት ።
He brought them to the border of his sanctuary, to this mountain, which his right hand had taken.
78:55 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְגָ֤רֶשׁ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֨ם ׀ גּוֹיִ֗ם וַֽ֭יַּפִּילֵם בְּחֶ֣בֶל נַחֲלָ֑ה וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֥ן בְּ֝אׇהֳלֵיהֶ֗ם שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ ἐξέβαλεν ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν ἔθνη καὶ ἐκληροδότησεν αὐτοὺς ἐν σχοινίῳ κληροδοσίας καὶ κατεσκήνωσεν ἐν τοῖς σκηνώμασιν αὐτῶν τὰς φυλὰς τοῦ Ισραηλ
et habitare fecit in tabernaculis eorum tribus Israël .
ኵሎ ፡ ዘሰማዕነ ፡ ወዘርኢነ ፤ ወዘነገሩነ ፡ አበዊነ ።
He also drove out the nations before them, allotted them for an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
78:56 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְנַסּ֣וּ וַ֭יַּמְרוּ אֶת ־אֱלֹהִ֣ים עֶלְי֑וֹן וְ֝עֵדוֹתָ֗יו לֹ֣א שָׁמָֽרוּ ׃
καὶ ἐπείρασαν καὶ παρεπίκραναν τὸν θεὸν τὸν ὕψιστον καὶ τὰ μαρτύρια αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐφυλάξαντο
Et tentaverunt , et exacerbaverunt Deum excelsum , et testimonia ejus non custodierunt .
ወኢኀብኡ ፡ እምደቂቆሙ ፡ ለካልእ ፡ ትውልድ ፡
Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, and didn’t keep his testimonies,
78:57 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּסֹּ֣גוּ וַֽ֭יִּבְגְּדוּ כַּאֲבוֹתָ֑ם נֶ֝הְפְּכ֗וּ כְּקֶ֣שֶׁת רְמִיָּֽה ׃
καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν καὶ ἠσυνθέτησαν καθὼς καὶ οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν καὶ μετεστράφησαν εἰς τόξον στρεβλὸν
Et averterunt se , et non servaverunt pactum : quemadmodum patres eorum , conversi sunt in arcum pravum .
ወነገሩ ፡ ስብሐቲሁ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ ኀይሎሂ ፡ ወመንክሮሂ ፡ ዘገብረ ።
but turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers. They were twisted like a deceitful bow.
78:58 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּכְעִיס֥וּהוּ בְּבָמוֹתָ֑ם וּ֝בִפְסִילֵיהֶ֗ם יַקְנִיאֽוּהוּ ׃
καὶ παρώργισαν αὐτὸν ἐν τοῖς βουνοῖς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν τοῖς γλυπτοῖς αὐτῶν παρεζήλωσαν αὐτόν
In iram concitaverunt eum in collibus suis , et in sculptilibus suis ad aemulationem eum provocaverunt .
ዘአቀመ ፡ ስምዐ ፡ ለያዕቆብ ፡ ወሠርዐ ፡ ሕገ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፤
For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their engraved images.
78:59 ⧉ ⤴︎ שָׁמַ֣ע אֱ֭לֹהִים וַֽיִּתְעַבָּ֑ר וַיִּמְאַ֥ס מְ֝אֹ֗ד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
ἤκουσεν ὁ θεὸς καὶ ὑπερεῖδεν καὶ ἐξουδένωσεν σφόδρα τὸν Ισραηλ
Audivit Deus , et sprevit , et ad nihilum redegit valde Israël .
ዘአዘዞሙ ፡ ለአበዊነ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይንግሩ ፡ ለደቂቆሙ ። ከመ ፡ ያእምር ፡ ካልእ ፡ ትውልድ ፤
When God heard this, he was angry, and greatly abhorred Israel,
78:60 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֭יִּטֹּשׁ מִשְׁכַּ֣ן שִׁל֑וֹ אֹ֝֗הֶל שִׁכֵּ֥ן בָּאָדָֽם ׃
καὶ ἀπώσατο τὴν σκηνὴν Σηλωμ σκήνωμα αὐτοῦ οὗ κατεσκήνωσεν ἐν ἀνθρώποις
Et repulit tabernaculum Silo , tabernaculum suum , ubi habitavit in hominibus .
ደቂቅ ፡ እለ ፡ ይትወለዱ ፡ ወይትነሥኡ ፡ ወይዜንዉ ፡ ለደቂቆሙ ።
so that he abandoned the tent of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men,
78:61 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּתֵּ֣ן לַשְּׁבִ֣י עֻזּ֑וֹ וְֽתִפְאַרְתּ֥וֹ בְיַד ־צָֽר ׃
καὶ παρέδωκεν εἰς αἰχμαλωσίαν τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτῶν καὶ τὴν καλλονὴν αὐτῶν εἰς χεῖρας ἐχθροῦ
Et tradidit in captivitatem virtutem eorum , et pulchritudinem eorum in manus inimici .
ከመ ፡ ይረስዩ ፡ ትውክልቶሙ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወከመ ፡ ኢይርስዑ ፡ ግብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይኅሥሡ ፡ ትእዛዞ ።
and delivered his strength into captivity, his glory into the adversary’s hand.
78:62 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּסְגֵּ֣ר לַחֶ֣רֶב עַמּ֑וֹ וּ֝בְנַחֲלָת֗וֹ הִתְעַבָּֽר ׃
καὶ συνέκλεισεν εἰς ῥομφαίαν τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ ὑπερεῖδεν
Et conclusit in gladio populum suum , et haereditatem suam sprevit .
ከመ ፡ ኢይኩኑ ፡ ከመ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ፤ ትውልድ ፡ ዕሉት ፡ ወመራር ።
He also gave his people over to the sword, and was angry with his inheritance.
78:63 ⧉ ⤴︎ בַּחוּרָ֥יו אָכְלָה ־אֵ֑שׁ וּ֝בְתוּלֹתָ֗יו לֹ֣א הוּלָּֽלוּ ׃
τοὺς νεανίσκους αὐτῶν κατέφαγεν πῦρ καὶ αἱ παρθένοι αὐτῶν οὐκ ἐπενθήθησαν
Juvenes eorum comedit ignis , et virgines eorum non sunt lamentatae .
ትውልድ ፡ እንተ ፡ ኢያርትዐት ፡ ልባ ፤ ወኢተአምነት ፡ መንፈሳ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ።
Fire devoured their young men. Their virgins had no wedding song.
78:64 ⧉ ⤴︎ כֹּ֭הֲנָיו בַּחֶ֣רֶב נָפָ֑לוּ וְ֝אַלְמְנֹתָ֗יו לֹ֣א תִבְכֶּֽינָה ׃
οἱ ἱερεῖς αὐτῶν ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ ἔπεσαν καὶ αἱ χῆραι αὐτῶν οὐ κλαυσθήσονται
Sacerdotes eorum in gladio ceciderunt , et viduae eorum non plorabantur .
ደቂቀ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ይወስቁ ፡ ወይነድፉ ፤ ወተገፍትኡ ፡ አመ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ቀትል ።
Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows couldn’t weep.
78:65 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקַ֖ץ כְּיָשֵׁ֥ן ׀אֲדֹנָ֑י כְּ֝גִבּ֗וֹר מִתְרוֹנֵ֥ן מִיָּֽיִן ׃
καὶ ἐξηγέρθη ὡς ὁ ὑπνῶν κύριος ὡς δυνατὸς κεκραιπαληκὼς ἐξ οἴνου
Et excitatus est tamquam dormiens Dominus , tamquam potens crapulatus a vino .
እስመ ፡ ኢዐቀቡ ፡ ኪዳኖ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ ወአበዩ ፡ ሐዊረ ፡ በሕጉ ።
Then the Lord awakened as one out of sleep, like a mighty man who shouts by reason of wine.
78:66 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּךְ ־צָרָ֥יו אָח֑וֹר חֶרְפַּ֥ת ע֝וֹלָ֗ם נָ֣תַן לָֽמוֹ ׃
καὶ ἐπάταξεν τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτοῦ εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω ὄνειδος αἰώνιον ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς
Et percussit inimicos suos in posteriora ; opprobrium sempiternum dedit illis .
ወረስዑ ፡ ረድኤቶ ። ወመንክሮሂ ፡ ዘአርአዮሙ ።
He struck his adversaries backward. He put them to a perpetual reproach.
78:67 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֭יִּמְאַס בְּאֹ֣הֶל יוֹסֵ֑ף וּֽבְשֵׁ֥בֶט אֶ֝פְרַ֗יִם לֹ֣א בָחָֽר ׃
καὶ ἀπώσατο τὸ σκήνωμα Ιωσηφ καὶ τὴν φυλὴν Εφραιμ οὐκ ἐξελέξατο
Et repulit tabernaculum Joseph , et tribum Ephraim non elegit :
ዘገብረ ፡ መንክረ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ አባዊሆሙ ፤ በምድረ ፡ ግብጽ ፡ ወበሐቀለ ፡ ጣኔዎስ ።
Moreover he rejected the tent of Joseph, and didn’t choose the tribe of Ephraim,
78:68 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֭יִּבְחַר אֶת ־שֵׁ֣בֶט יְהוּדָ֑ה אֶֽת ־הַ֥ר צִ֝יּ֗וֹן אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָהֵֽב ׃
καὶ ἐξελέξατο τὴν φυλὴν Ιουδα τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σιων ὃ ἠγάπησεν
sed elegit tribum Juda , montem Sion , quem dilexit .
ሰጠቀ ፡ ባሕረ ፡ ወአኅለፎሙ ፤ ወአቀመ ፡ ማየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዝቅ ።
But chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which he loved.
78:69 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּ֣בֶן כְּמֽוֹ ־רָ֭מִים מִקְדָּשׁ֑וֹ כְּ֝אֶ֗רֶץ יְסָדָ֥הּ לְעוֹלָֽם ׃
καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ὡς μονοκερώτων τὸ ἁγίασμα αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ γῇ ἐθεμελίωσεν αὐτὴν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
Et aedificavit sicut unicornium sanctificium suum , in terra quam fundavit in saecula .
ወመርሖሙ ፡ መዐልተ ፡ በደመና ፤ ወኵሎ ፡ ሌሊተ ፡ በብርሃነ ፡ እሳት ።
He built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which he has established forever.
78:70 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֭יִּבְחַר בְּדָוִ֣ד עַבְדּ֑וֹ וַ֝יִּקָּחֵ֗הוּ מִֽמִּכְלְאֹ֥ת צֹֽאן ׃
καὶ ἐξελέξατο Δαυιδ τὸν δοῦλον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀνέλαβεν αὐτὸν ἐκ τῶν ποιμνίων τῶν προβάτων
Et elegit David , servum suum , et sustulit eum de gregibus ovium ; de post foetantes accepit eum :
ወአንቅዐ ፡ ኰኵሐ ፡ በበድው ፤ ወአስተዮሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዘእምቀላይ ፡ ብዙኅ ።
He also chose David his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds;
78:71 ⧉ ⤴︎ מֵאַחַ֥ר עָל֗וֹת הֱבִ֫יא֥וֹ לִ֭רְעוֹת בְּיַעֲקֹ֣ב עַמּ֑וֹ וּ֝בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל נַחֲלָתֽוֹ ׃
ἐξόπισθεν τῶν λοχευομένων ἔλαβεν αὐτὸν ποιμαίνειν Ιακωβ τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ Ισραηλ τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ
pascere Jacob servum suum , et Israël haereditatem suam .
ወአውፅአ ፡ ማየ ፡ እምእብን ፤ ወአውሐዘ ፡ ማየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዘአፍላግ ።
from following the ewes that have their young, he brought him to be the shepherd of Jacob, his people, and Israel, his inheritance.
78:72 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֭יִּרְעֵם כְּתֹ֣ם לְבָב֑וֹ וּבִתְבוּנ֖וֹת כַּפָּ֣יו יַנְחֵֽם ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐποίμανεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἀκακίᾳ τῆς καρδίας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ταῖς συνέσεσι τῶν χειρῶν αὐτοῦ ὡδήγησεν αὐτούς
Et pavit eos in innocentia cordis sui , et in intellectibus manuum suarum deduxit eos .
ወደገሙ ፡ ዓዲ ፡ ወአበሱ ፡ ሎቱ ፤ ወአምረርዎ ፡ ለልዑል ፡ በበድው ። ወአመከርዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በልቦሙ ፤ ከመ ፡ ይስአሉ ፡ መብልዐ ፡ ለነፍሶሙ ። ሐመይዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይቤሉ ፤ ይክልኑ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሠሪዐ ፡ ማእድ ፡ በገዳም ። ይዝብጥ ፡ ኰኵሐ ፡ ወያውሕዝ ፡ ማየ ፤ ወይክልኑ ፡ ውሂበ ፡ ኅብስት ፡ ወይሥራዕ ፡ ማዕደ ፡ ለሕዝቡ ። ወሰምዐ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአናሕሰየ ፤ ወነደ ፡ እሳት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ ወመጽአ ፡ መቅሠፍት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እስራኤል ። እስመ ፡ ኢተአመንዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ ወኢተወከሉ ፡ በአድኅኖቱ ። ወአዘዘ ፡ ደመና ፡ በላዕሉ ፤ ወአርኀወ ፡ ኆኃተ ፡ ሰማይ ። ወአዝነመ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ መና ፡ ይብልዑ ፤ ወወሀቦሙ ፡ ኅብስተ ፡ ሰማይ ። ወኅብስተ ፡ መላእክቲሁ ፡ በልዑ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፤ ወፈነወ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ሥንቆሙ ፡ ዘየአክሎሙ ። ወአንሥአ ፡ አዜበ ፡ እምሰማይ ፤ ወአምጽአ ፡ መስዐ ፡ በኀይሉ ። ወአዝነመ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ሥጋ ፡ ከመ ፡ መሬት ፤ ወከመ ፡ ኆጻ ፡ ባሕር ፡ አዕዋፈ ፡ ዘይሠርር ። ወወድቀ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ተዓይኒሆሙ ፤ ወዐውደ ፡ ደባትሪሆሙ ። በልዑ ፡ ወጸግቡ ፡ ጥቀ ፤ ወወሀቦሙ ፡ ለፍትወቶሙ ። ወኢያኅጥኦሙ ፡ እምዘ ፡ ፈቀዱ ። ወእንዘ ፡ ዓዲ ፡ መብልዖሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አፉሆሙ ፤ ወመጽአ ፡ መቅሠፍተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ወቀተሎሙ ፡ መብዝኅቶሙ ፤ ወአዕቀጾሙ ፡ ለኅሩያነ ፡ እስራኤል ። ወምስለ ፡ ዝኒ ፡ ዓዲ ፡ አበሱ ፡ ሎቱ ፤ ወኢተአመንዎ ፡ በተአምሪሁ ። ወኀልቀ ፡ በከንቱ ፡ መዋዕሊሆሙ ፤ ወኀለፈ ፡ በጕጕኣ ፡ ዐመቲሆሙ ። ወአመ ፡ ይቀትሎሙ ፡ ውእተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ይኀሥዎ ፤ ወይትመየጡ ፡ ወይገይሱ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ። ወተዘከሩ ፡ ከመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ረዳኢሆሙ ፤ ወእግዚአብሔር ፡ ልዑል ፡ መድኀኒሆሙ ። ወአፍቀረዎ ፡ በአፉሆሙ ፤ ወሐሰውዎ ፡ በልሳኖሙ ። ወኢኮነ ፡ ርቱዐ ፡ ልቦሙ ፡ በላዕሌሆሙ ፤ ወኢተአመንዎ ፡ በኪዳኑ ። ወውእቱሰ ፡ መሓሪ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወይሰሪ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ኃጢአቶሙ ፡ ወኢያጠፍኦሙ ። ወያበዝኅ ፡ መዪጠ ፡ መዐቱ ፡ ወኢያነድድ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መቅሠፍቱ ። ወተዘከረ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሥጋ ፡ እሙንቱ ፤ መንፈስ ፡ እምከመ ፡ ወፅአ ፡ ኢይገብእ ። ሚመጠነ ፡ አምዕዕዎ ፡ በገዳም ፡ ወወሐክዎ ፡ በበድው ። ወተመይጡ ፡ ወአመከርዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ ወወሐክዎ ፡ ለቅዱሰ ፡ እስራኤል ። ወኢተዘከሩ ፡ እዴሁ ፤ ዘአድኀኖሙ ፡ እምእደ ፡ ፀሮሙ ። ዘገብረ ፡ ተአምረ ፡ በግብጽ ፤ ወመንክረ ፡ በሐቅለ ፡ ጣኔዎስ ። ወረሰየ ፡ ደመ ፡ ለአፍላጊሆሙ ፤ ወለአንቅዕቲሆሙኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይስተዩ ። ፈነወ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ አኮተ ፡ ወበልዖሙ ፤ ወቈርነነዓተ ፡ ወአርኰሶሙ ። ወወሀበ ፡ ለአናኵዕ ፡ ፍሬሆሙ ፤ ወተግባሮሙኒ ፡ ለአንበጣ ። ወቀተለ ፡ ወይኖሙ ፡ በበረድ ፤ ወበለሶሙኒ ፡ በአስሐትያ ። ወወሀበ ፡ ለበረድ ፡ እንስሳሆሙ ፤ ወንዋዮሙኒ ፡ ለእሳት ። ፈነወ ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ መቅሠፍተ ፡ መዐቱ ፤ መቅሠፍተ ፡ ወመንሱተ ፡ ወሕማመ ፤ ወፈነወ ፡ ምስለ ፡ መላእክት ፡ እኩያን ። ወጼሐ ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ ለመዐቱ ፤ ወኢመሐካ ፡ እሞት ፡ ለነፍሶሙ ፤ ወዐጸወ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሞት ፡ እንስሳሆሙ ። ወቀተለ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ በኵሮሙ ፡ በምድረ ፡ ግብጽ ፤ ወቀዳሜ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ጻማሆሙ ፡ በውስተ ፡ አብያቲሆሙ ። ወአውፈሮሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ አባግዕ ፡ ለሕዝቡ ፤ ወአውፅኦሙ ፡ ገዳመ ፡ ከመ ፡ መርዔት ። ወመርሖሙ ፡ በተስፋሁ ፡ ወኢፈርሁ ፤ ወደፈኖሙ ፡ ባሕር ፡ ለፀሮሙ ። ወወሰዶሙ ፡ ደብረ ፡ መቅደሱ ፤ ደብረ ፡ ዘፈጠረት ፡ የማኑ ። ወሰደደ ፡ አሕዛበ ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ገጾሙ ፡ ወአውረሶሙ ፡ በሐብለ ፡ ርስቱ ፤ ወአንበረ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አብያቲሆሙ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ እስራኤል ። ወአመከርዎ ፡ ወአምዕዕዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ልዑል ፤ ወኢዐቀቡ ፡ ስምዖ ። ወተመይጡ ፡ ወዐለዉ ፡ ከመ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ፤ ወኮኑ ፡ ከመ ፡ ቀስት ፡ ጠዋይ ። ወአምዕዕዎ ፡ በአውገሪሆሙ ፤ ወኣቅንእዎ ፡ በግልፎሆሙ ። ወሰምዐ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአናሕሰየ ፤ ወመነኖሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ፈድፋደ ። ወኀደጋ ፡ ለደብተራ ፡ ሴሎም ፤ ደብተራሁ ፡ እንተ ፡ ባቲ ፡ ኀደረ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሰብእ ። ወወሀበ ፡ ኀይሎሙ ፡ ለተፄውዎ ፤ ወሥኖሙኒ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደ ፡ ፀሮሙ ። ወዐጸዎሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኲናት ፡ ለሕዝቡ ፤ ወተሀየዮሙ ፡ ለርስቱ ። ወበልዐቶሙ ፡ እሳት ፡ ለወራዙቶሙ ፤ ወኢላሐዋ ፡ ደናግሊሆሙ ። ወካህናቲሆሙኒ ፡ ወድቁ ፡ በኲናት ፤ ወኢበከያ ፡ አቤራቲሆሙ ። ወተንሥአ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ ዘንቃህ ፡ እምንዋም ፤ ወከመ ፡ ኀያል ፡ ወኅዳገ ፡ ወይን ። ወቀተለ ፡ ፀሮሙ ፡ በዳኅሬሆሙ ፤ ወወሀቦሙ ፡ ኀሳረ ፡ ዘለዓለም ። ወኀደጋ ፡ ለደብተራ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፤ ወኢኀረዮሙ ፡ ለሕዝበ ፡ ኤፍሬም ። ወኀረየ ፡ ለሕዝበ ፡ ይሁዳ ፤ ደብረ ፡ ጽዮን ፡ ዘአፍቀረ ። ሐነጸ ፡ መቅደሶ ፡ በአርያም ፤ ወሳረራ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ ለዓለም ። ወኀረዮ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ ገብሩ ፤ ወነሥኦ ፡ እመርዔተ ፡ አባግዒሁ ። ወተመጠዎ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ ሐራሣት ፤ ከመ ፡ ይርዐዮ ፡ ለያዕቆብ ፡ ገብሩ ፤ ወለእስራኤል ፡ ርስቱ ። ወርዕዮሙ ፡ በየዋሃተ ፡ ልቡ ፤ ወመርሖሙ ፡ በጥበበ ፡ እደዊሁ ።
So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.
