19:1
Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοὺς λόγους τούτους, μετῆρεν ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὰ ὅρια τῆς Ἰουδαίας πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου.
Et factum est, cum consummasset Jesus sermones istos, migravit a Galilaea, et venit in fines Judaeae trans Jordanem,
ወሶበ ፈጸመ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዘንተ ነገረ ተንሥአ እምገሊላ ወበጽሐ ውስተ ብሔረ ይሁዳ ማዕዶተ ዮርዳኖስ።
When Jesus had finished these words, he departed from Galilee and came into the borders of Judea beyond the Jordan.
19:2
καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ ὄχλοι πολλοί, καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ.
et secutae sunt eum turbae multae, et curavit eos ibi.
ወተለውዎ አሕዛብ ብዙኃን ወፈወሶሙ በህየ።
Great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.
19:3
Καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι πειράζοντες αὐτὸν καὶ λέγοντες· εἰ ἔξεστιν ἀπολῦσαι τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ κατὰ πᾶσαν αἰτίαν;
Et accesserunt ad eum pharisaei tentantes eum, et dicentes : Si licet homini dimittere uxorem suam, quacumque ex causa ?
ወመጽኡ ኀቤሁ ፈሪሳውያን እንዘ ያሜክርዎ ወይቤልዎ ይከውኖሁ ለብእሲ ይድኀር ብእሲቶ በኵሉ ዘአበሰት ሎቱ።
Pharisees came to him, testing him and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”
19:4
ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· οὐκ ἀνέγνωτε ὅτι ὁ ποιήσας ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ ἐποίησεν αὐτούς;
Qui respondens, ait eis : Non legistis, quia qui fecit hominem ab initio, masculum et feminam fecit eos ? Et dixit :
ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎሙ ኢያንበብክሙኑ ዘውስተ ኦሪት ከመ ዘፈጠሮሙ እግዚአብሔር እምትካት ተባዕተ ወአንስተ ገብሮሙ።
He answered, “Haven’t you read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female,
19:5
καὶ εἶπεν· ἕνεκα τούτου καταλείψει ἄνθρωπος τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα καὶ κολληθήσεται τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔσονται οἱ δύο εἰς σάρκα μίαν.
Propter hoc dimittet homo patrem, et matrem, et adhaerebit uxori suae, et erunt duo in carne una.
ወይቤ «በእንተዝ የኀድግ ብእሲ አባሁ ወእሞ ወይተልዋ ለብእሲቱ ወይከውኑ ክልኤሆሙ አሐደ ሥጋ።»
and said, ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh’?
19:6
ὥστε οὐκέτι εἰσὶν δύο ἀλλὰ σὰρξ μία. ὃ οὖν ὁ θεὸς συνέζευξεν ἄνθρωπος μὴ χωριζέτω.
Itaque jam non sunt duo, sed una caro. Quod ergo Deus conjunxit, homo non separet.
እንከሰኬ ኢኮኑ ክልኤተ አላ አሐዱ ሥጋ እሙንቱ ዘእግዚአብሔር አስተፃመረ ሰብእ ኢይፍልጥ።
So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart.”
19:7
λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· τί οὖν Μωϋσῆς ἐνετείλατο δοῦναι βιβλίον ἀποστασίου καὶ ἀπολῦσαι;
Dicunt illi : Quid ergo Moyses mandavit dare libellum repudii, et dimittere ?
ወይቤልዎ ለምንት እንከ አዘዘ ሙሴ ከመ የሀብዋ መጽሐፈ ኅዳጋቲሃ ወይኅድግዋ።
They asked him, “Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce and divorce her?”
19:8
λέγει αὐτοῖς· ὅτι Μωϋσῆς πρὸς τὴν σκληροκαρδίαν ὑμῶν ἐπέτρεψεν ὑμῖν ἀπολῦσαι τὰς γυναῖκας ὑμῶν· ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς δὲ οὐ γέγονεν οὕτως.
Ait illis : Quoniam Moyses ad duritiam cordis vestri permisit vobis dimittere uxores vestras : ab initio autem non fuit sic.
ወይቤሎሙ ሙሴሰ አዘዘክሙ በከመ እከየ ልብክሙ ትኅድጉ አንስቲያክሙ ትካትሰ አኮ ከማሁ ዘተገብረ።
He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so.
19:9
λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι ὃς ἂν ἀπολύσῃ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ μὴ ἐπὶ πορνείᾳ καὶ γαμήσῃ ἄλλην, μοιχᾶται.
Dico autem vobis, quia quicumque dimiserit uxorem suam, nisi ob fornicationem, et aliam duxerit, moechatur : et qui dimissam duxerit, moechatur.
እብለክሙ አነሂ ኵሉ ዘይድኅር ብእሲቶ ዘእንበለ ትዘሙ በላዕሌሁ ለሊሁ ረሰያ ዘማ ወአውሰበ ካልእተ ዘመወ ወእንተሂ ደኀርዋ አውሰበ ዘመወ።
I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery.”
19:10
λέγουσιν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ· εἰ οὕτως ἐστὶν ἡ αἰτία τοῦ ἀνθρώπου μετὰ τῆς γυναικός, οὐ συμφέρει γαμῆσαι.
Dicunt ei discipuli ejus : Si ita est causa hominis cum uxore, non expedit nubere.
ወይቤልዎ አርዳኢሁ እመሰ ከመዝ ውእቱ ሥርዐተ ብእሲ ወብእሲት አኮ ሠናይ አውስቦ።
His disciples said to him, “If this is the case of the man with his wife, it is not expedient to marry.”
19:11
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· οὐ πάντες χωροῦσιν τὸν λόγον τοῦτον, ἀλλ’ οἷς δέδοται.
Qui dixit illis : Non omnes capiunt verbum istud, sed quibus datum est.
ወይቤሎሙ አኮ ለኵሉ ዘይትከሀል ዝንቱ ዘእንበለ ዳዕሙ ለዘተውህቦ።
But he said to them, “Not all men can receive this saying, but those to whom it is given.
19:12
εἰσὶν γὰρ εὐνοῦχοι οἵτινες ἐκ κοιλίας μητρὸς ἐγεννήθησαν οὕτως, καὶ εἰσὶν εὐνοῦχοι οἵτινες εὐνουχίσθησαν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων, καὶ εἰσὶν εὐνοῦχοι οἵτινες εὐνούχισαν ἑαυτοὺς διὰ τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν. ὁ δυνάμενος χωρεῖν χωρείτω.
Sunt enim eunuchi, qui de matris utero sic nati sunt : et sunt eunuchi, qui facti sunt ab hominibus : et sunt eunuchi, qui seipsos castraverunt propter regnum caelorum. Qui potest capere capiat.
እስመ ቦ ሕፅዋን እለ ከማሁ ተወልዱ እምከርሠ እሞሙ ወቦ ሕፅዋን እለ ሐፀውዎሙ ሰብእ ወቦ ሕፅዋን እለ ሐፀዉ ርእሶሙ በእንተ መንግሥተ ሰማያት ወዘሰ ይክል ተዐግሦ ለይትዐገሥ።
For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven’s sake. He who is able to receive it, let him receive it.”
19:13
Τότε προσηνέχθησαν αὐτῷ παιδία, ἵνα τὰς χεῖρας ἐπιθῇ αὐτοῖς καὶ προσεύξηται· οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ ἐπετίμησαν αὐτοῖς.
Tunc oblati sunt ei parvuli, ut manus eis imponeret, et oraret. Discipuli autem increpabant eos.
ወእምዝ አምጽኡ ሎቱ ሕፃናተ ከመ ያንብር እዴሁ ላዕሌሆሙ ወይጸሊ ወገሠጽዎሙ አርዳኢሁ።
Then little children were brought to him that he should lay his hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.
19:14
ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ἄφετε τὰ παιδία καὶ μὴ κωλύετε αὐτὰ ἐλθεῖν πρός ἐμέ· τῶν γὰρ τοιούτων ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν.
Jesus vero ait eis : Sinite parvulos, et nolite eos prohibere ad me venire : talium est enim regnum caelorum.
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኢትክልእዎሙ ለሕፃናት ይምጽኡ ኀቤየ እስመ ለዘከመ እሉ ይእቲ መንግሥተ ሰማያት።
But Jesus said, “Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.”
19:15
καὶ ἐπιθεὶς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῖς ἐπορεύθη ἐκεῖθεν.
Et cum imposuisset eis manus, abiit inde.
ወአንበረ እዴሁ ላዕሌሆሙ ወኀለፈ እምህየ።
He laid his hands on them, and departed from there.
19:16
Καὶ ἰδοὺ εἷς προσελθὼν αὐτῷ εἶπεν· διδάσκαλε, τί ἀγαθὸν ποιήσω ἵνα σχῶ ζωὴν αἰώνιον;
Et ecce unus accedens, ait illi : Magister bone, quid boni faciam ut habeam vitam aeternam ?
ወናሁ መጽአ አሐዱ ወሬዛ ወይቤሎ ሊቅ ኄር ምንተ እግበር እምሠናያት ከመ እረስ ሕይወተ ዘለዓለም።
Behold, one came to him and said, “Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”
19:17
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, τί με ἐρωτᾷς περὶ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ; εἷς ἐστιν ὁ ἀγαθός. εἰ δὲ θέλεις εἰς τὴν ζωὴν εἰσελθεῖν, τήρησον τὰς ἐντολάς.
Qui dixit ei : Quid me interrogas de bono ? Unus est bonus, Deus. Si autem vis ad vitam ingredi, serva mandata.
ወይቤሎ ለምንት ትብለኒ ኄር አልቦ ኄር ዘእንበለ አሐዱ እግዚአብሔር ወእመሰ ትፈቅድ ትባእ ውስተ ሕይወት ዕቀብ ትእዛዛተ።
He said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but one, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
19:18
ποίας; φησίν ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· τὸ οὐ φονεύσεις, οὐ μοιχεύσεις, οὐ κλέψεις, οὐ ψευδομαρτυρήσεις,
Dicit illi : Quae ? Jesus autem dixit : Non homicidium facies ; non adulterabis ; non facies furtum ; non falsum testimonium dices ;
ወይቤሎ አያተኑ ዘአዐቅብ ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኢትቅትል ነፍሰ ኢትዘሙ ኢትስርቅ ኢትኩን ስምዐ በሐሰት።
He said to him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’
19:19
τίμα τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα, καί, ἀγαπήσεις τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν.
honora patrem tuum, et matrem tuam, et diliges proximum tuum sicut teipsum.
አክብር አባከ ወእመከ ወአፍቅር ቢጸከ ከመ ነፍስከ።
‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”
19:20
λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ νεανίσκος· πάντα ταῦτα ἐφύλαξα· τί ἔτι ὑστερῶ;
Dicit illi adolescens : Omnia haec custodivi a juventute mea : quid adhuc mihi deest ?
ወይቤሎ ውእቱ ወሬዛ ዘንተሰ ኵሎ ዐቀብኩ እምንእስየ ምንት እንከ ዘተርፈኒ።
The young man said to him, “All these things I have observed from my youth. What do I still lack?”
19:21
ἔφη αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, εἰ θέλεις τέλειος εἶναι, ὕπαγε πώλησόν σου τὰ ὑπάρχοντα καὶ δὸς πτωχοῖς, καὶ ἕξεις θησαυρὸν ἐν οὐρανοῖς, καὶ δεῦρο ἀκολούθει μοι.
Ait illi Jesus : Si vis perfectus esse, vade, vende quae habes, et da pauperibus, et habebis thesaurum in caelo : et veni, sequere me.
ወነጸሮ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ አሐቲ ተርፈተከ እመሰ ትፈቅድ ፍጹመ ትኩን ሑር ወሢጥ ኵሎ ዘብከ ወሀብ ለነዳያን ወታጠሪ ለከ መዝገበ ዘበሰማያት ወነዓ ትልወኒ።
Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
19:22
ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ νεανίσκος ἀπῆλθεν λυπούμενος· ἦν γὰρ ἔχων κτήματα πολλά.
Cum audisset autem adolescens verbum, abiit tristis : erat enim habens multas possessiones.
ወሰሚዖ ወሬዛ ዘንተ ነገረ ኀለፈ ትኩዞ እስመ ብዙኅ ጥሪቱ።
But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he was one who had great possessions.
19:23
Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πλούσιος δυσκόλως εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν.
Jesus autem dixit discipulis suis : Amen dico vobis, quia dives difficile intrabit in regnum caelorum.
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለአርዳኢሁ አማን እብለክሙ ከመ ባዕል እምዕፁብ ይበውእ ውስተ መንግሥተ ሰማያት።
Jesus said to his disciples, “Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty.
19:24
πάλιν δὲ λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι εὐκοπώτερόν ἐστιν κάμηλον διὰ τρυπήματος ῥαφίδος εἰσελθεῖν ἢ πλούσιον εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν.
Et iterum dico vobis : Facilius est camelum per foramen acus transire, quam divitem intrare in regnum caelorum.
ወካዕበ እብለክሙ ይቀልል ይኅልፍ ገመል እንተ ስቍረተ መርፍእ እምባዕል ይባእ ውስተ መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር።
Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
19:25
ἀκούσαντες δὲ οἱ μαθηταὶ ἐξεπλήσσοντο σφόδρα λέγοντες· τίς ἄρα δύναται σωθῆναι;
Auditis autem his, discipuli mirabantur valde, dicentes : Quis ergo poterit salvus esse ?
ወሰሚዖሙ አርዳኢሁ አንከሩ ጥቀ እንዘ ይብሉ መኑ እንጋ ይክል ድኂነ።
When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
19:26
ἐμβλέψας δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· παρὰ ἀνθρώποις τοῦτο ἀδύνατόν ἐστιν, παρὰ δὲ θεῷ δυνατά πάντα.
Aspiciens autem Jesus, dixit illis : Apud homines hoc impossibile est : apud Deum autem omnia possibilia sunt.
ወነጸሮሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ በኀበ ሰብእ ኢይትከሀል ዝ ወበኀበ እግዚአብሔርሰ ኵሉ ይትከሀል።
Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
19:27
Τότε ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Πέτρος εἶπεν αὐτῷ· ἰδοὺ ἡμεῖς ἀφήκαμεν πάντα καὶ ἠκολουθήσαμέν σοι· τί ἄρα ἔσται ἡμῖν;
Tunc respondens Petrus, dixit ei : Ecce nos reliquimus omnia, et secuti sumus te : quid ergo erit nobis ?
ወእምዝ አውሥአ ጴጥሮስ ወይቤሎ ናሁኬ ንሕነ ኀደግነ ኵሎ ወተሎናከ ምንተ እንከ ንረክብ።
Then Peter answered, “Behold, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?”
19:28
ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ὑμεῖς οἱ ἀκολουθήσαντές μοι, ἐν τῇ παλινγενεσίᾳ, ὅταν καθίσῃ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐπὶ θρόνου δόξης αὐτοῦ, καθίσεσθε καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐπὶ δώδεκα θρόνους κρίνοντες τὰς δώδεκα φυλὰς τοῦ Ἰσραήλ.
Jesus autem dixit illis : Amen dico vobis, quod vos, qui secuti estis me, in regeneratione cum sederit Filius hominis in sede majestatis suae, sedebitis et vos super sedes duodecim, judicantes duodecim tribus Israël.
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አማን እብለክሙ አንትሙ እለ ተለውክሙኒ አመ ዳግም ልደት አመ ይነብር ወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ዲበ መንበረ ስብሐቲሁ አንትሙኒ ትነብሩ ዲበ ዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ መናብርት ወትኴንኑ ዐሠርተ ወክልኤተ ሕዝበ እስራኤል።
Jesus said to them, “Most certainly I tell you that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
19:29
καὶ πᾶς ὅστις ἀφῆκεν ἀδελφοὺς ἢ ἀδελφὰς ἢ πατέρα ἢ μητέρα ἢ τέκνα ἢ ἀγροὺς ἢ οἰκίας ἕνεκα τοῦ ἐμοῦ ὀνόματός, πολλαπλασίονα λήμψεται καὶ ζωὴν αἰώνιον κληρονομήσει.
Et omnis qui reliquerit domum, vel fratres, aut sorores, aut patrem, aut matrem, aut uxorem, aut filios, aut agros propter nomen meum, centuplum accipiet, et vitam aeternam possidebit.
ወኵሉ ዘኀደገ አብያተ ወአኀወ ወአኃተ ወአበ ወእመ ወብእሲተ ወውሉደ ወገራውሀ በእንተ ስምየ ምእተ ምክዕቢተ ይነሥእ ወሕይወተ ዘለዓለም ይወርስ።
Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life.
19:30
πολλοὶ δὲ ἔσονται πρῶτοι ἔσχατοι καὶ ἔσχατοι πρῶτοι.
Multi autem erunt primi novissimi, et novissimi primi.
ወብዙኃን ቀደምት ይከውኑ ደኀርተ ወደኀርትኒ ይከውኑ ቀደምተ።
But many will be last who are first, and first who are last.
