15:1
Τότε προσέρχονται τῷ Ἰησοῦ ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμων Φαρισαῖοι καὶ γραμματεῖς λέγοντες·
Tunc accesserunt ad eum ab Jerosolymis scribae et pharisaei, dicentes :
ወእምዝ ቀርቡ ኀበ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እለ መጽኡ እምኢየሩሳሌም ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን እንዘ ይብሉ።
Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,
15:2
διατί οἱ μαθηταί σου παραβαίνουσιν τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν πρεσβυτέρων; οὐ γὰρ νίπτονται τὰς χεῖρας ὅταν ἄρτον ἐσθίωσιν.
Quare discipuli tui transgrediuntur traditionem seniorum ? non enim lavant manus suas cum panem manducant.
ለምንት ይትዐደዉ አርዳኢከ ሥርዐተ ረበናት ወትእዛዞሙ ለሊቃነ ካህናት እስመ ኢይትኀፀቡ እደዊሆሙ ሶበ ይበልዑ ኅብስተ።
“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”
15:3
ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· διατί καὶ ὑμεῖς παραβαίνετε τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ θεοῦ διὰ τὴν παράδοσιν ὑμῶν;
Ipse autem respondens ait illis : Quare et vos transgredimini mandatum Dei propter traditionem vestram ? Nam Deus dixit :
ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎሙ ለምንት አንትሙኒ ትትዐደዉ ትእዛዘ እግዚአብሔር በእንተ ሥርዐትክሙ።
He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?
15:4
ὁ γὰρ θεὸς ἐνετείλατο λέγων· τίμα τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα, καί ὁ κακολογῶν πατέρα ἢ μητέρα θανάτῳ τελευτάτω·
Honora patrem, et matrem : et, Qui maledixerit patri, vel matri, morte moriatur.
ወእግዚአብሔርሰ ይቤ አክብር አባከ ወእመከ ወዘአሕሠመ ቃለ ላዕለ አቡሁ ወእሙ ሞተ ለይሙት።
For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
15:5
ὑμεῖς δὲ λέγετε· ὃς ἂν εἴπῃ τῷ πατρὶ ἢ τῇ μητρί· δῶρον ὃ ἐὰν ἐξ ἐμοῦ ὠφεληθῇς, οὐ μὴ τιμήσει τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ ἢ τὴν μητέρα αὐτοῦ.
Vos autem dicitis : Quicumque dixerit patri, vel matri : Munus, quodcumque est ex me, tibi proderit :
ወአንትሙሰ ትብሉ ዘይቤሎ ለአቡሁ ወለእሙ ሀብተ ቍርባን ዘረባኅከ እምኔየ ዝ ብሂል ኢያክብር አባሁ ወእሞ።
But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,”
15:6
καὶ ἠκυρώσατε τὸν νόμον τοῦ θεοῦ διὰ τὴν παράδοσιν ὑμῶν.
et non honorificabit patrem suum, aut matrem suam : et irritum fecistis mandatum Dei propter traditionem vestram.
ወሰዐርክሙ ቃሎ ለእግዚአብሔር በእንተ ሥርዐትክሙ።
he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.
15:7
ὑποκριταί, καλῶς ἐπροφήτευσεν περὶ ὑμῶν Ἡσαΐας λέγων·
Hypocritae, bene prophetavit de vobis Isaias, dicens :
ኦ መደልዋን ሠናየ ተነበየ ኢሳይያስ ላዕሌክሙ እንዘ ይብል፤
You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
15:8
ὁ λαὸς οὗτος τοῖς χείλεσίν με τιμᾷ, ἡ δὲ καρδία αὐτῶν πόρρω ἀπέχει ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ·
Populus hic labiis me honorat : cor autem eorum longe est a me.
«ዝ ሕዝብ በከናፍሪሆሙ ያከብሩኒ ወበልቦሙሰ ነዋኀ ይርኅቁ እምኔየ።
‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
15:9
μάτην δὲ σέβονταί με, διδάσκοντες διδασκαλίας ἐντάλματα ἀνθρώπων.
Sine causa autem colunt me, docentes doctrinas et mandata hominum.
ወከንቶ ያመልኩኒ እንዘ ይሜህሩ ትምህርተ ሥርዐታተ ሰብእ።»
And they worship me in vain, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’”
15:10
Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τὸν ὄχλον εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ἀκούετε καὶ συνίετε·
Et convocatis ad se turbis, dixit eis : Audite, et intelligite.
ወጸውዖሙ ለሕዝብ ወይቤሎሙ ስምዑ ወለብዉ።
He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand.
15:11
οὐ τὸ εἰσερχόμενον εἰς τὸ στόμα κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον, ἀλλὰ τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον ἐκ τοῦ στόματος, τοῦτο κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
Non quod intrat in os, coinquinat hominem : sed quod procedit ex ore, hoc coinquinat hominem.
ከመ አኮ ዘይበውእ ውስተ አፍ ዘያረኵሶ ለሰብእ አላ ዘይወፅእ እምውስተ አፍ ውእቱ ያረኵሶ ለሰብእ።
That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
15:12
τότε προσελθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· οἶδας ὅτι οἱ Φαρισαῖοι ἀκούσαντες τὸν λόγον ἐσκανδαλίσθησαν;
Tunc accedentes discipuli ejus, dixerunt ei : Scis quia pharisaei audito verbo hoc, scandalizati sunt ?
ወእምዝ ቀሪቦሙ አርዳኢሁ ይቤልዎ ተአምርሁ ከመ ፈሪሳውያን ሰሚዖሙ ቃለከ አንጐርጐሩ።
Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
15:13
ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· πᾶσα φυτεία ἣν οὐκ ἐφύτευσεν ὁ πατήρ μου ὁ οὐράνιος ἐκριζωθήσεται.
At ille respondens ait : Omnis plantatio, quam non plantavit Pater meus caelestis, eradicabitur.
ወአውሥአ ወይቤ ኵላ ተክል እንተ ኢተከላ አቡየ ሰማያዊ ትሤሮ።
But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted.
15:14
ἄφετε αὐτούς· ὁδηγοί εἰσιν τυφλοί τυφλῶν· τυφλὸς δὲ τυφλὸν ἐὰν ὁδηγῇ, ἀμφότεροι εἰς βόθυνον πεσοῦνται.
Sinite illos : caeci sunt, et duces caecorum ; caecus autem si caeco ducatum praestet, ambo in foveam cadunt.
ኅድግዎሙ ለእሉ እስመ ዕዉራን እሙንቱ ወአምርሕተ ዕዉራን ዕዉር ዕዉረ ለእመ መርሐ ክልኤሆሙ ይወድቁ ውስተ ግብ።
Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
15:15
ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Πέτρος εἶπεν αὐτῷ· φράσον ἡμῖν τὴν παραβολήν.
Respondens autem Petrus dixit ei : Edissere nobis parabolam istam.
ወአውሥአ ጴጥሮስ ወይቤሎ ፈክር ለነ ዘንተ ምሳሌ።
Peter answered him, “Explain the parable to us.”
15:16
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· ἀκμὴν καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀσύνετοί ἐστε;
At ille dixit : Adhuc et vos sine intellectu estis ?
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዓዲሁ አንትሙኒ ኢለበውክሙኑ ዘንተ።
So Jesus said, “Do you also still not understand?
15:17
οὐ νοεῖτε ὅτι πᾶν τὸ εἰσπορευόμενον εἰς τὸ στόμα εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν χωρεῖ καὶ εἰς ἀφεδρῶνα ἐκβάλλεται;
Non intelligitis quia omne quod in os intrat, in ventrem vadit, et in secessum emittitur ?
ኢተአምሩኑ ከመ ኵሉ ዘይበውእ ውስተ አፍ ውስተ ከርሥ ይትገመር ወጽመ ይትገደፍ።
Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly and then out of the body?
15:18
τὰ δὲ ἐκπορευόμενα ἐκ τοῦ στόματος ἐκ τῆς καρδίας ἐξέρχεται, κἀκεῖνα κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
Quae autem procedunt de ore, de corde exeunt, et ea coinquinant hominem :
ወዘሰ ይወፅእ እምውስተ አፍ እምልብ ይወፅእ ወዝ ውእቱ ዘያረኵሶ ለሰብእ።
But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man.
15:19
ἐκ γὰρ τῆς καρδίας ἐξέρχονται διαλογισμοὶ πονηροί, φόνοι, μοιχεῖαι, πορνεῖαι, κλοπαί, ψευδομαρτυρίαι, βλασφημίαι.
de corde enim exeunt cogitationes malae, homicidia, adulteria, fornicationes, furta, falsa testimonia, blasphemiae :
እስመ እምውስተ ልብ ይወፅእ ኅሊና እኩይ ዘውእቱ ቀቲል ወዝሙት ስርቅ ስምዕ በሐሰት ወፅርፈት።
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.
15:20
ταῦτά ἐστιν τὰ κοινοῦντα τὸν ἄνθρωπον· τὸ δὲ ἀνίπτοις χερσὶν φαγεῖν οὐ κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
haec sunt, quae coinquinant hominem. Non lotis autem manibus manducare, non coinquinat hominem.
እሉኬ ዘያረኵስዎ ለሰብእ ወዘእንበለ ተኀፅቦ እድሰ በሊዕ ኢያረኵሶ ለሰብእ።
These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.”
15:21
Καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἐκεῖθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀνεχώρησεν εἰς τὰ μέρη Τύρου καὶ Σιδῶνος.
Et egressus inde Jesus secessit in partes Tyri et Sidonis.
ወወፂኦ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ተግኅሠ እምህየ ውስተ ደወለ ጢሮስ ወሲዶና።
Jesus went out from there and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.
15:22
καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ Χαναναία ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων ἐκείνων ἐξελθοῦσα ἔκραζεν λέγουσα· ἐλέησόν με, κύριε, υἱὸς Δαυείδ· ἡ θυγάτηρ μου κακῶς δαιμονίζεται.
Et ecce mulier chananaea a finibus illis egressa clamavit, dicens ei : Miserere mei, Domine fili David : filia mea male a daemonio vexatur.
ወናሁ ብእሲት ከነናዊት እምውእቱ አድዋል መጽአት እንዘ ትጸርሕ ወትብል መሐረኒ እግዚእየ ወልደ ዳዊት እስመ ለወለትየ እኩይ ጋኔን አኀዛ ወያአብዳ።
Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”
15:23
ὁ δὲ οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῇ λόγον. καὶ προσελθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἠρώτουν αὐτὸν λέγοντες· ἀπόλυσον αὐτήν, ὅτι κράζει ὄπισθεν ἡμῶν.
Qui non respondit ei verbum. Et accedentes discipuli ejus rogabant eum dicentes : Dimitte eam : quia clamat post nos.
ወኢያውሥኣ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ቃለ ወቀሪቦሙ አርዳኢሁ አስተብቍዕዎ እንዘ ይብሉ ፈንዋ ለዛቲ ብእሲት እስመ ትጸርሕ በድኅሬነ።
But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away; for she cries after us.”
15:24
ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· οὐκ ἀπεστάλην εἰ μὴ εἰς τὰ πρόβατα τὰ ἀπολωλότα οἴκου Ἰσραήλ.
Ipse autem respondens ait : Non sum missus nisi ad oves, quae perierunt domus Israël.
ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎሙ ኢተፈነውኩ ዘእንበለ ኀበ አባግዕ ዘተኀጕላ ዘቤተ እስራኤል።
But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
15:25
ἡ δὲ ἐλθοῦσα προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγουσα· κύριε, βοήθει μοι.
At illa venit, et adoravit eum, dicens : Domine, adjuva me.
ወቀሪባ ሰገደት ሎቱ እንዘ ትብል እግዚኦ ርድአኒ።
But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”
15:26
ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· οὐκ ἔξεστιν λαβεῖν τὸν ἄρτον τῶν τέκνων καὶ βαλεῖν τοῖς κυναρίοις.
Qui respondens ait : Non est bonum sumere panem filiorum, et mittere canibus.
ወአውሥኣ ወይቤላ ኢኮነ ሠናየ ነሢአ ኅብስተ ውሉድ ወውሂብ ለከለባት።
But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
15:27
ἡ δὲ εἶπεν· ναί, κύριε· καὶ γὰρ τὰ κυνάρια ἐσθίει ἀπὸ τῶν ψιχίων τῶν πιπτόντων ἀπὸ τῆς τραπέζης τῶν κυρίων αὐτῶν.
At illa dixit : Etiam Domine : nam et catelli edunt de micis quae cadunt de mensa dominorum suorum.
ወትቤ እወ እግዚኦ ከለባትኒ ጓ ይበልዑ እምፍርፋራት ዘይወድቅ እማእደ አጋዕዝቲሆሙ።
But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
15:28
τότε ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῇ· ὦ γύναι, μεγάλη σου ἡ πίστις· γενηθήτω σοι ὡς θέλεις. καὶ ἰάθη ἡ θυγάτηρ αὐτῆς ἀπὸ τῆς ὥρας ἐκείνης.
Tunc respondens Jesus, ait illi : O mulier, magna est fides tua : fiat tibi sicut vis. Et sanata est filia ejus ex illa hora.
ወእምዝ አውሥኣ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤላ ኦ ብእሲቶ ዐቢይ ሃይማኖትኪ ይኩንኪ በከመ ተአመንኪ ወሐይወት ወለታ እምይእቲ ሰዓት።
Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.
15:29
Καὶ μεταβὰς ἐκεῖθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἦλθεν παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν τῆς Γαλιλαίας, καὶ ἀναβὰς εἰς τὸ ὄρος ἐκάθητο ἐκεῖ.
Et cum transisset inde Jesus, venit secus mare Galilaeae : et ascendens in montem, sedebat ibi.
ወኀሊፎ እምህየ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ በጽሐ ኀበ ሐይቀ ባሕር ዘገሊላ ወዐሪጎ ደብረ ነበረ ህየ።
Jesus departed from there and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up on the mountain and sat there.
15:30
καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ ὄχλοι πολλοὶ ἔχοντες μεθ’ ἑαυτῶν χωλούς, τυφλούς, κωφούς, κυλλούς, καὶ ἑτέρους πολλούς, καὶ ἔριψαν αὐτοὺς παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτούς,
Et accesserunt ad eum turbae multae, habentes secum mutos, caecos, claudos, debiles, et alios multos : et projecerunt eos ad pedes ejus, et curavit eos,
ወቀርቡ ኀቤሁ አሕዛብ ብዙኃን ወአምጽኡ ምስሌሆሙ ሐንካሳነ ወዕዉራነ ወጽሙማነ ወፅዉሳነ ወባዕዳነ ብዙኃነ ወገደፍዎሙ ኀበ እገሪሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወፈወሶሙ።
Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them,
15:31
ὥστε τὸν ὄχλον θαυμάσαι βλέποντας κωφοὺς λαλοῦντας, κυλλοὺς ὑγιεῖς, καὶ χωλοὺς περιπατοῦντας καὶ τυφλοὺς βλέποντας· καὶ ἐδόξασαν τὸν θεὸν Ἰσραήλ.
ita ut turbae mirarentur, videntes mutos loquentes, claudos ambulantes, caecos videntes : et magnificabant Deum Israël.
እስከ ሶበ ያነክሩ አሕዛብ እንዘ ይሬእዩ ከመ በሃማን ይትናገሩ ወሐንካሳን የሐውሩ ወዕዉራን ይሬእዩ ወሰብሕዎ ለአምላከ እስራኤል ዘወሀበ ዘከመዝ ሥልጣነ ለሰብእ።
so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, the injured healed, the lame walking, and the blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.
15:32
Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς προσκαλεσάμενος τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ εἶπεν· σπλαγχνίζομαι ἐπὶ τὸν ὄχλον, ὅτι ἤδη ἡμέραι τρεῖς προσμένουσίν μοι καὶ οὐκ ἔχουσιν τί φάγωσιν· καὶ ἀπολῦσαι αὐτοὺς νήστεις οὐ θέλω, μήποτε ἐκλυθῶσιν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ.
Jesus autem, convocatis discipulis suis, dixit : Misereor turbae, quia triduo jam perseverant mecum, et non habent quod manducent : et dimittere eos jejunos nolo, ne deficiant in via.
ወጸውዖሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለአርዳኢሁ ወይቤሎሙ ያምሕሩኒ እሉ ሕዝብ እስመ ናሁ ሠሉስ መዋዕል እምዘበልዑ እክለ ወአልቦሙ ዘይበልዑ ወኢይፈቅድ እፈንዎሙ ርኁባኒሆሙ ከመ ኢይመጽልዉ በፍኖት።
Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have continued with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.”
15:33
καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταί· πόθεν ἡμῖν ἐν ἐρημίᾳ ἄρτοι τοσοῦτοι ὥστε χορτάσαι ὄχλον τοσοῦτον;
Et dicunt ei discipuli : Unde ergo nobis in deserto panes tantos, ut saturemus turbam tantam ?
ወይቤልዎ አርዳኢሁ እምአይቴ እንከ ለነ በገዳም ኅብስት ዘያጸግብ ለዘመጠነዝ ሕዝብ።
The disciples said to him, “Where could we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”
15:34
καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς, πόσους ἄρτους ἔχετε; οἱ δὲ εἶπον· ἑπτά, καὶ ὀλίγα ἰχθύδια.
Et ait illis Jesus : Quot habetis panes ? At illi dixerunt : Septem, et paucos pisciculos.
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ሚመጠን ኀባውዝ ብክሙ ወይቤልዎ ሰብዑ ኅብስት ወኅዳጥ ዓሣ።
Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”
15:35
καὶ παραγγείλας τῷ ὄχλῳ ἀναπεσεῖν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν
Et praecepit turbae ut discumberent super terram.
ወአዘዞሙ ለሕዝብ ይርፍቁ ዲበ ምድር።
He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;
15:36
ἔλαβεν τοὺς ἑπτὰ ἄρτους καὶ τοὺς ἰχθύας καὶ εὐχαριστήσας ἔκλασεν καὶ ἐδίδου τοῖς μαθηταῖς, οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ τοῖς ὄχλοις.
Et accipiens septem panes, et pisces, et gratias agens, fregit, et dedit discipulis suis, et discipuli dederunt populo.
ወነሥአ ሰቡዐ ኅብስተ ወዓሣኒ ወይእተ ጊዜ አእኰተ ወፈተተ ወወሀቦሙ ለአርዳኢሁ ወአርዳኢሁኒ አቅረቡ ለሕዝብ።
and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.
15:37
καὶ ἔφαγον πάντες καὶ ἐχορτάσθησαν, καὶ τὸ περισσεῦον τῶν κλασμάτων ἦραν, ἑπτὰ σπυρίδας πλήρεις.
Et comederunt omnes, et saturati sunt. Et quod superfuit de fragmentis, tulerunt septem sportas plenas.
ወበልዑ ኵሎሙ ወጸግቡ ወአግኀሡ ዘተርፈ ፍተታተ ሰብዐተ አስፈሬዳተ ምሉአ።
They all ate and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.
15:38
οἱ δὲ ἐσθίοντες ἦσαν τετρακισχίλιοι ἄνδρες χωρὶς παιδίων καὶ γυναικῶν.
Erant autem qui manducaverunt quatuor millia hominum, extra parvulos et mulieres.
ወእለሰ በልዑ ዕደው የአክሉ አርብዓ ምእት ብእሲ ዘእንበለ አንስት ወደቅ።
Those who ate were four thousand men, in addition to women and children.
15:39

Et, dimissa turba, ascendit in naviculam : et venit in fines Magedan.
ወፈቲሖ አሕዛበ ዐርገ ውስተ ሐመር ወሖረ ውስተ ደወለ መጌዶል።
Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
