15:1
Καὶ εὐθὺς πρωῒ συμβούλιον ἑτοιμάσαντες οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς μετὰ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ τῶν γραμματέων καὶ ὅλον τὸ συνέδριον, δήσαντες τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἀπήνεγκαν καὶ παρέδωκαν Πειλάτῳ.
Et confestim mane consilium facientes summi sacerdotes cum senioribus, et scribis, et universo concilio, vincientes Jesum, duxerunt, et tradiderunt Pilato.
ወሶበ ጸብሐ ተማከሩ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወረበናት ወጸሐፍት ወኵሉ ዐውድ ወኀመይዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወወሰድዎ ወመጠውዎ ለጲላጦስ።
Immediately in the morning the chief priests, with the elders, scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, bound Jesus, carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.
15:2
καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν ὁ Πειλᾶτος· σὺ εἶ ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων; ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτῷ λέγει· σὺ λέγεις.
Et interrogavit eum Pilatus : Tu es rex Judaeorum ? At ille respondens, ait illi : Tu dicis.
ወተስእሎ ጲላጦስ ወይቤሎ አንተኑ ንጉሦሙ ለአይሁድ ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ አንተ ትብል፤
Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” He answered, “So you say.”
15:3
καὶ κατηγόρουν αὐτοῦ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς πολλά.
Et accusabant eum summi sacerdotes in multis.
ወአስተዋደይዎ ሊቃነ ካህናት ብዙኀ ወውእቱሰ አልቦ ዘአውሥአ።
The chief priests accused him of many things.
15:4
ὁ δὲ Πειλᾶτος πάλιν ἐπηρώτα αὐτὸν· οὐκ ἀποκρίνῃ οὐδέν; ἴδε πόσα σου κατηγοροῦσιν.
Pilatus autem rursum interrogavit eum, dicens : Non respondes quidquam ? vide in quantis te accusant.
ወሐተቶ ካዕበ ጲላጦስ ወይቤሎ አልቦኑ ዘትሰጠው እንዘ መጠነዝ ያስተዋድዩከ።
Pilate again asked him, “Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!”
15:5
ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς οὐκέτι οὐδὲν ἀπεκρίθη, ὥστε θαυμάζειν τὸν Πειλᾶτον.
Jesus autem amplius nihil respondit, ita ut miraretur Pilatus.
ወኢተሰጥዎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወኢምንተኒ እስከ አንከሮ ጲላጦስ።
But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate marveled.
15:6
Κατὰ δὲ ἑορτὴν ἀπέλυεν αὐτοῖς ἕνα δέσμιον ὃν παρῃτοῦντο.
Per diem autem festum solebat dimittere illis unum ex vinctis, quemcumque petissent.
ወለለ በዓል ያሐዩ ሎሙ አሐደ እምነ ሙቁሓን ዘአብደሩ።
Now at the feast he used to release to them one prisoner, whomever they asked of him.
15:7
ἦν δὲ ὁ λεγόμενος Βαραββᾶς μετὰ τῶν στασιαστῶν δεδεμένος, οἵτινες ἐν τῇ στάσει φόνον πεποιήκεισαν.
Erat autem qui dicebatur Barrabas, qui cum seditiosis erat vinctus, qui in seditione fecerat homicidium.
ወሀሎ አሐዱ ብእሲ ዘስሙ በርባን ሙቁሕ ምስለ እለ ገብሩ ሀከከ ወምስለ ቀተልተ ነፍስ።
There was one called Barabbas, bound with his fellow insurgents, men who in the insurrection had committed murder.
15:8
καὶ ἀναβὰς ὁ ὄχλος ἤρξατο αἰτεῖσθαι καθὼς ἐποίει αὐτοῖς.
Et cum ascendisset turba, coepit rogare, sicut semper faciebat illis.
ወዐርጉ ሕዝብ ወከልሑ ወሰአሉ ይግበር ሎሙ በከመ ያለምድ።
The multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he always did for them.
15:9
ὁ δὲ Πειλᾶτος ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς λέγων· θέλετε ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν τὸν βασιλέα τῶν Ἰουδαίων;
Pilatus autem respondit eis, et dixit : Vultis dimittam vobis regem Judaeorum ?
ወአውሥአ ጲላጦስ ወይቤሎሙ ትፈቅዱኑ አሕይዎ ለክሙ ለንጉሠ አይሁድ።
Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
15:10
ἐγίνωσκεν γὰρ ὅτι διὰ φθόνον παραδεδώκεισαν αὐτὸν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς.
Sciebat enim quod per invidiam tradidissent eum summi sacerdotes.
እስመ የአምሮሙ ከመ በቅንአቶሙ አግብእዎ ሊቃነ ካህናት።
For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.
15:11
οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς ἀνέσεισαν τὸν ὄχλον ἵνα μᾶλλον τὸν Βαραββᾶν ἀπολύσῃ αὐτοῖς.
Pontifices autem concitaverunt turbam, ut magis Barabbam dimitteret eis.
ወሊቃነ ካህናትሰ ሆክዎሙ ለሕዝብ ከመ በርባንሃ ይስአሉ ያሕዩ ሎሙ።
But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should release Barabbas to them instead.
15:12
ὁ δὲ Πειλᾶτος πάλιν ἀποκριθεὶς ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· τί οὖν θέλετε ποιήσω ὃν λέγετε τὸν βασιλέα τῶν Ἰουδαίων;
Pilatus autem iterum respondens, ait illis : Quid ergo vultis faciam regi Judaeorum ?
ወካዕበ አውሥአ ጲላጦስ ወይቤሎሙ ምንተ እንከ ትፈቅዱ እረስዮ ለዘተብህለ ንጉሠ አይሁድ።
Pilate again asked them, “What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?”
15:13
οἱ δὲ πάλιν ἔκραξαν· σταύρωσον αὐτόν.
At illi iterum clamaverunt : Crucifige eum.
ወካዕበ ከልሑ ኵሎሙ ወይቤሉ ስቅሎ።
They cried out again, “Crucify him!”
15:14
ὁ δὲ Πειλᾶτος ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· τί γὰρ ἐποίησεν κακόν; οἱ δὲ περισσῶς ἔκραξαν· σταύρωσον αὐτόν.
Pilatus vero dicebat illis : Quid enim mali fecit ? At illi magis clamabant : Crucifige eum.
ወይቤሎሙ ጲላጦስ ምንተ እኩየ ገብረ ወፈድፋደ ጸርሑ ወይቤሉ ስቅሎ።
Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, “Crucify him!”
15:15
ὁ δὲ Πειλᾶτος βουλόμενος ποιῆσαι τὸ ἱκανὸν τῷ ὄχλῳ ἀπέλυσεν αὐτοῖς τὸν Βαραββᾶν, καὶ παρέδωκεν τὸν Ἰησοῦν φραγελλώσας ἵνα σταυρωθῇ.
Pilatus autem volens populo satisfacere, dimisit illis Barabbam, et tradidit Jesum flagellis caesum, ut crucifigeretur.
ወመከረ ጲላጦስ ይግበር ፈቃዶሙ ለሕዝብ ወአሕየወ ሎሙ በርባንሃ ወቀሠፎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወወሀቦሙ ይስቅልዎ።
Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.
15:16
Οἱ δὲ στρατιῶται ἀπήγαγον αὐτὸν ἔσω τῆς αὐλῆς, ὅ ἐστιν πραιτώριον, καὶ συνκαλοῦσιν ὅλην τὴν σπεῖραν·
Milites autem duxerunt eum in atrium praetorii, et convocant totam cohortem,
ወአብእዎ ሐራ ውሳጤ ዐጸድ ኀበ ምኵናን ወጸውዑ ኵሎ ሠገራተ ሰጲራ።
The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort.
15:17
καὶ ἐνδιδύσκουσιν αὐτὸν πορφύραν καὶ περιτιθέασιν αὐτῷ πλέξαντες ἀκάνθινον στέφανον·
et induunt eum purpura, et imponunt ei plectentes spineam coronam.
ወአልበስዎ ሜላተ ወጸፈሩ አክሊለ ዘሦክ ወአስተቀጸልዎ ላዕለ ርእሱ ወይሣለቅዎ።
They clothed him with purple; and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him.
15:18
καὶ ἤρξαντο ἀσπάζεσθαι αὐτόν· χαῖρε, βασιλεῦ τῶν Ἰουδαίων·
Et coeperunt salutare eum : Ave rex Judaeorum.
ወይብልዎ በሓ ንጉሦሙ ለአይሁድ።
They began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
15:19
καὶ ἔτυπτον αὐτοῦ τὴν κεφαλὴν καλάμῳ καὶ ἐνέπτυον αὐτῷ, καὶ τιθέντες τὰ γόνατα προσεκύνουν αὐτῷ.
Et percutiebant caput ejus arundine : et conspuebant eum, et ponentes genua, adorabant eum.
ወይኰርዕዎ ርእሶ በኅለት ወይወርቅዎ ወያስተበርኩ ወይሰግዱ ሎቱ።
They struck his head with a reed and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him.
15:20
καὶ ὅτε ἐνέπαιξαν αὐτῷ, ἐξέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὴν πορφύραν καὶ ἐνέδυσαν αὐτὸν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ. Καὶ ἐξάγουσιν αὐτὸν ἵνα σταυρώσουσιν.
Et postquam illuserunt ei, exuerunt illum purpura, et induerunt eum vestimentis suis : et educunt illum ut crucifigerent eum.
ወሶበ ተሣለቁ ላዕሌሁ ሰለብዎ ውእተ ሜላተ ወአልበስዎ አልባሲሁ ወወሰድዎ ኀበ ይሰቅልዎ።
When they had mocked him, they took the purple cloak off him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him.
15:21
καὶ ἀγγαρεύουσιν παράγοντά τινα Σίμωνα Κυρηναῖον, ἐρχόμενον ἀπ’ ἀγροῦ, τὸν πατέρα Ἀλεξάνδρου καὶ Ῥούφου, ἵνα ἄρῃ τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ.
Et angariaverunt praetereuntem quempiam, Simonem Cyrenaeum venientem de villa, patrem Alexandri et Rufi, ut tolleret crucem ejus.
ወዐበጡ አሐደ ኀላፌ ፍኖት ስምዖንሃ ቀሬናዌ እትወቶ እምሐቅል ወውእቱ አቡሆሙ ለእለ እስክንድሮስ ወለሮፎስ ከመ ይጹር መስቀሎ።
They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them that he might bear his cross.
15:22
καὶ φέρουσιν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν Γολγοθᾶν τόπον, ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον κρανίου τόπος.
Et perducunt illum in Golgotha locum : quod est interpretatum Calvariae locus.
ወወሰድዎ ብሔረ ጎልጎታ ዘበትርጓሜሁ ይብልዎ መካነ ቀራንዮ።
They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, “The place of a skull.”
15:23
καὶ ἐδίδουν αὐτῷ ἐσμυρνισμένον οἶνον· ὃς δὲ οὐκ ἔλαβεν.
Et dabant ei bibere myrrhatum vinum : et non accepit.
ወወሀብዎ ይስተይ ወይነ ምስለ ከርቤ ቱሱሐ ወአበየ ሰትየ።
They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn’t take it.
15:24
καὶ σταυροῦσιν αὐτὸν, καὶ διαμερίζονται τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ, βάλλοντες κλῆρον ἐπ’ αὐτὰ τίς τί ἄρῃ.
Et crucifigentes eum, diviserunt vestimenta ejus, mittentes sortem super eis, quis quid tolleret.
ወሰቀልዎ ወተዐፀዉ ዲበ አልባሲሁ ወተካፈሉ ዘከመ ይነሥኡ።
Crucifying him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots on them, what each should take.
15:25
ἦν δὲ ὥρα τρίτη καὶ ἐσταύρωσαν αὐτόν.
Erat autem hora tertia : et crucifixerunt eum.
ወሠለስቱ ሰዓት ውእቱ ጊዜ ይሰቅልዎ፤
It was the third hour when they crucified him.
15:26
καὶ ἦν ἡ ἐπιγραφὴ τῆς αἰτίας αὐτοῦ ἐπιγεγραμμένη· ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων.
Et erat titulus causae ejus inscriptus : Rex Judaeorum.
ወይብል መጽሐፈ ጌጋዩ ንጉሦሙ ለአይሁድ፤
The superscription of his accusation was written over him: “THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
15:27
Καὶ σὺν αὐτῷ σταυροῦσιν δύο λῃστάς, ἕνα ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ ἕνα ἐξ εὐωνύμων αὐτοῦ.
Et cum eo crucifigunt duos latrones : unum a dextris, et alium a sinistris ejus.
ወሰቀሉ ምስሌሁ ክልኤተ ፈያተ አሐደ በየማኑ ወአሐደ በፀጋሙ።
With him they crucified two robbers, one on his right hand, and one on his left.
15:28—
Et impleta est Scriptura, quae dicit : Et cum iniquis reputatus est.
ወተፈጸመ መጽሐፍ ዘይቤ «ተኈለቈ ምስለ ገበርተ ዐመፃ።»
The Scripture was fulfilled which says, “He was counted with transgressors.”
15:29
καὶ οἱ παραπορευόμενοι ἐβλασφήμουν αὐτὸν κινοῦντες τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν καὶ λέγοντες· οὐὰ ὁ καταλύων τὸν ναὸν καὶ οἰκοδομῶν τρισὶν ἡμέραις,
Et praetereuntes blasphemabant eum, moventes capita sua, et dicentes : Vah ! qui destruis templum Dei, et in tribus diebus reaedificas,
ወኀለፍትኒ ይፀርፉ ላዕሌሁ ወየሀውሱ ርእሶሙ ወይብልዎ ኦ ዘይነሥቶ ለቤተ መቅደስ ወበሠሉስ ዕለት የሐንጾ።
Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads and saying, “Ha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days,
15:30
σῶσον σεαυτὸν καταβὰς ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ.
salvum fac temetipsum descendens de cruce.
አድኅን ርእሰከ ወረድ እመስቀልከ።
save yourself, and come down from the cross!”
15:31
ὁμοίως καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς ἐμπαίζοντες πρὸς ἀλλήλους μετὰ τῶν γραμματέων ἔλεγον· ἄλλους ἔσωσεν, ἑαυτὸν οὐ δύναται σῶσαι·
Similiter et summi sacerdotes illudentes, ad alterutrum cum scribis dicebant : Alios salvos fecit ; seipsum non potest salvum facere.
ወከማሁ ሊቃነ ካህናትኒ ወጸሐፍት ይሣለቁ ላዕሌሁ ወይብልዎ ዘባዕደ ያድኅን ወርእሶ ኢይክል አድኅኖ።
Likewise, also the chief priests mocking among themselves with the scribes said, “He saved others. He can’t save himself.
15:32
ὁ Χριστὸς ὁ βασιλεὺς Ἰσραὴλ καταβάτω νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ σταυροῦ, ἵνα ἴδωμεν καὶ πιστεύσωμεν. καὶ οἱ συνεσταυρωμένοι σὺν αὐτῷ ὠνείδιζον αὐτόν.
Christus rex Israël descendat nunc de cruce, ut videamus, et credamus. Et qui cum eo crucifixi erant, convitiabantur ei.
እመሰ ክርስቶስ ውእቱ ንጉሠ እስራኤል ለይረድኬ ይእዜ እምነ መስቀሉ ንርአይ ወንእመን ቦቱ ወእለሂ ተሰቅሉ ምስሌሁ ይዘነጕጕዎ።
Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him.” Those who were crucified with him also insulted him.
15:33
Καὶ γενομένης ὥρας ἕκτης σκότος ἐγένετο ἐφ’ ὅλην τὴν γῆν ἕως ὥρας ἐνάτης.
Et facta hora sexta, tenebrae factae sunt per totam terram usque in horam nonam.
ወሶበ ኮነ ጊዜ ቀትር ጸልመ ፀሐይ ወኵሉ ዓለም ጸልመ እስከ ተሱዐት ሰዓት።
When the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
15:34
καὶ τῇ ἐνάτῃ ὥρᾳ ἐβόησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς φωνῇ μεγάλῃ· ἑλωῒ ἑλωῒ λεμὰ σαβαχθανεί; ὅ ἐστιν μεθερμηνευόμενον· ὁ θεός μου ὁ θεός μου, εἰς τί ἐγκατέλιπές με;
Et hora nona exclamavit Jesus voce magna, dicens : Eloi, eloi, lamma sabacthani ? quod est interpretatum : Deus meus, Deus meus, ut quid dereliquisti me ?
ወጊዜ ተሱዐት ሰዓት ገዐረ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ በዐቢይ ቃል ወይቤ ኤሎሄ ኤሎሄ ኤልማስ ላማ ሰበቅታኒ ዘበትርጓሜሁ ይብል አምላኪየ አምላኪየ ለምንት ኀደገኒ።
At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, being interpreted, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
15:35
καί τινες τῶν παρεστώτων ἀκούσαντες ἔλεγον· ἴδε Ἡλείαν φωνεῖ.
Et quidam de circumstantibus audientes, dicebant : Ecce Eliam vocat.
ወቦ እለ ይቤሉ እምእለ ይቀውሙ ህየ ኤልያስሃ ይጼውዕ።
Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, “Behold, he is calling Elijah.”
15:36
δραμὼν δέ τις καὶ γεμίσας σπόγγον ὄξους περιθεὶς καλάμῳ ἐπότιζεν αὐτόν, λέγων· ἄφετε ἴδωμεν εἰ ἔρχεται Ἡλείας καθελεῖν αὐτόν.
Currens autem unus, et implens spongiam aceto, circumponensque calamo, potum dabat ei, dicens : Sinite, videamus si veniat Elias ad deponendum eum.
ወሮጸ አሐዱ ወመልአ ሰፍነገ ብሒአ ወአሰረ በኅለት ወአስተዮ ወይቤ ኅድጉ ንርአይ ለእመ ይመጽእ ኤልያስ ያውርዶ።
One ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to take him down.”
15:37
ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἀφεὶς φωνὴν μεγάλην ἐξέπνευσεν.
Jesus autem emissa voce magna expiravit.
ወገዐረ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ በዐቢይ ቃል ወመጠወ ነፍሶ።
Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and gave up the spirit.
15:38
καὶ τὸ καταπέτασμα τοῦ ναοῦ ἐσχίσθη εἰς δύο ἀπὸ ἄνωθεν ἕως κάτω.
Et velum templi scissum est in duo, a summo usque deorsum.
ወተሠጠ መንጦላዕተ ምኵራብ ለክልኤ እምላዕሉ እስከ ታሕቱ።
The veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom.
15:39
ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ κεντυρίων ὁ παρεστηκὼς ἐξ ἐναντίας αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὕτως ἐξέπνευσεν εἶπεν· ἀληθῶς οὗτος ὁ ἄνθρωπος υἱὸς ἦν θεοῦ.
Videns autem centurio, qui ex adverso stabat, quia sic clamans expirasset, ait : Vere hic homo Filius Dei erat.
ወርእዮ ሐራዊ ሊቀ ምእት ዘይቀውም መንጸረ ከመ ከመዝ ግዒሮ ሞተ ይቤ አማን ዝንቱ ብእሲ ወልደ እግዚአብሔር ውእቱ።
When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”
15:40
Ἦσαν δὲ καὶ γυναῖκες ἀπὸ μακρόθεν θεωροῦσαι, ἐν αἷς καὶ Μαρία ἡ Μαγδαληνὴ καὶ Μαρία ἡ Ἰακώβου τοῦ μικροῦ καὶ Ἰωσῆτος μήτηρ καὶ Σαλώμη,
Erant autem et mulieres de longe aspicientes : inter quas erat Maria Magdalene, et Maria Jacobi minoris, et Joseph mater, et Salome :
ወሀለዋ አንስት ይቀውማ ወይኔጽራ እምርኁቅ ወውእቶን ማርያም መግደላዊት ወማርያም እንተ ያዕቆብ ዘይንእስ ወእሙ ለዮሳ ወሰሎሜ።
There were also women watching from afar, among whom were both Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
15:41
αἳ ὅτε ἦν ἐν τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ ἠκολούθουν αὐτῷ καὶ διηκόνουν αὐτῷ, καὶ ἄλλαι πολλαὶ αἱ συναναβᾶσαι αὐτῷ εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα.
et cum esset in Galilaea, sequebantur eum, et ministrabant ei, et aliae multae, quae simul cum eo ascenderant Jerosolymam.
እለ ተለዋሁ እምገሊላ ወተልእካሁ ወባእዳትሂ ብዙኃት እለ ዐርጋ ምስሌሁ ኢየሩሳሌም።
who, when he was in Galilee, followed him and served him; and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.
15:42
Καὶ ἤδη ὀψίας γενομένης, ἐπεὶ ἦν παρασκευή, ὅ ἐστιν προσάββατον,
Et cum jam sero esset factum (quia erat parasceve, quod est ante sabbatum),
ወመስዮ ዐርብ አሜሃ በአተ ሰንበት ውእቱ።
When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,
15:43
ἐλθὼν Ἰωσὴφ ὁ ἀπὸ Ἀριμαθαίας εὐσχήμων βουλευτής, ὃς καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν προσδεχόμενος τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ, τολμήσας εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς τὸν Πειλᾶτον καὶ ᾐτήσατο τὸ σῶμα τοῦ Ἰησοῦ.
venit Joseph ab Arimathaea nobilis decurio, qui et ipse erat exspectans regnum Dei, et audacter introivit ad Pilatum, et petiit corpus Jesu.
መጽአ ዮሴፍ እምአርማትያስ ብእሲ ኄር ወጠቢብ ወውእቱ ይሴፎ መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ወተኀበለ ወቦአ ኀበ ጲላጦስ ወሰአለ ሥጋሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ።
Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for God’s Kingdom, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.
15:44
ὁ δὲ Πειλᾶτος ἐθαύμαζεν εἰ ἤδη τέθνηκεν, καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τὸν κεντυρίωνα ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὸν εἰ πάλαι ἀπέθανεν·
Pilatus autem mirabatur si jam obiisset. Et accersito centurione, interrogavit eum si jam mortuus esset.
ወአንከረ ጲላጦስ ወይቤ እፎ ሞተ ወጸውዖ ለሐራዊ ወተስእሎ ወይቤሎ ወድአኑ ሞተ ወይቤ እወ ሞተ።
Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.
15:45
καὶ γνοὺς ἀπὸ τοῦ κεντυρίωνος ἐδωρήσατο τὸ πτῶμα τῷ Ἰωσήφ.
Et cum cognovisset a centurione, donavit corpus Joseph.
ወአእሚሮ እምኀበ ሐራዊ ከመ ሞተ አዘዘ ይጸግውዎ ለዮሴፍ ሥጋሁ።
When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
15:46
καὶ ἀγοράσας σινδόνα, καθελὼν αὐτὸν ἐνείλησεν τῇ σινδόνι καὶ κατέθηκεν αὐτὸν ἐν μνήματι ὃ ἦν λελατομημένον ἐκ πέτρας, καὶ προσεκύλισεν λίθον ἐπὶ τὴν θύραν τοῦ μνημείου.
Joseph autem mercatus sindonem, et deponens eum involvit sindone, et posuit eum in monumento quod erat excisum de petra, et advolvit lapidem ad ostium monumenti.
ወተሣየጠ ዮሴፍ ሰንዱናተ ወአውረዶ ወገነዞ በሰንዱናት ወቀበሮ ውስተ መቃብር ሐዲስ ዘአውቀረ ውስተ ኰኵሕ ወአንኰርኰረ እብነ ውስተ አፈ መቃብር።
He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.
15:47
ἡ δὲ Μαρία ἡ Μαγδαληνὴ καὶ Μαρία ἡ Ἰωσῆτος ἐθεώρουν ποῦ τέθειται.
Maria autem Magdalene et Maria Joseph aspiciebant ubi poneretur.
ወማርያም መግደላዊት ወማርያም እንተ ዮሳ ርእያ ኀበ ቀበርዎ።
Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses, saw where he was laid.
