11:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ὅτε ἐγγίζουσιν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα καὶ εἰς Βηθανίαν πρὸς τὸ ὄρος τῶν ἐλαιῶν , ἀποστέλλει δύο τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ
Et cum appropinquarent Jerosolymae et Bethaniae ad montem Olivarum , mittit duos ex discipulis suis ,
ወአልጺቆሙ ኢየሩሳሌም ኀበ ቤተ ፋጌ ወቢታንያ እንተ ገቦ ደብረ ዘይት ፈነወ ክልኤተ እምአርዳኢሁ ።
When they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples
11:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς · ὑπάγετε εἰς τὴν κώμην τὴν κατέναντι ὑμῶν , καὶ εὐθὺς εἰσπορευόμενοι εἰς αὐτὴν εὑρήσετε πῶλον δεδεμένον , ἐφ’ ὃν οὐδεὶς ἀνθρώπων οὔπω κεκάθικεν · λύσατε αὐτὸν καὶ φέρετε .
et ait illis : Ite in castellum , quod contra vos est , et statim introëuntes illuc , invenietis pullum ligatum , super quem nemo adhuc hominum sedit : solvite illum , et adducite .
ወይቤሎሙ ሑሩ ውስተ ሀገር እንተ ቅድሜክሙ ወበዊአክሙ ትረክቡ ሶቤሃ ዕዋለ አድግ እሱረ ዘኢተጽዕኖ ሰብእ ዲቤሁ ፍትሕዎ ወአምጽእዎ ሊተ ።
and said to them, “Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him and bring him.
11:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐάν τις ὑμῖν εἴπῃ · τί ποιεῖτε τοῦτο ; εἴπατε · ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ χρείαν ἔχει , καὶ εὐθὺς αὐτὸν ἀποστέλλει πάλιν ὧδε .
Et si quis vobis dixerit : Quid facitis ? dicite , quia Domino necessarius est : et continuo illum dimittet huc .
ወለእመቦ ዘይቤለክሙ ምንተ ትገብሩ በሉ እግዚኡ ይፈቅዶ ወሶቤሃ ይፌንወክሙ ዝየ ።
If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs him;’ and immediately he will send him back here.”
11:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀπῆλθον καὶ εὗρον τὸν πῶλον δεδεμένον πρὸς τὴν θύραν ἔξω ἐπὶ τοῦ ἀμφόδου , καὶ λύουσιν αὐτόν .
Et abeuntes invenerunt pullum ligatum ante januam foris in bivio : et solvunt eum .
ወሖሩ ወረከቡ ዕዋለ እሱረ ኀበ አንቀጽ ውስተ ፍኖት ወፈትሕዎ ።
They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.
11:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ καί τινες τῶν ἐκεῖ ἑστηκότων ἔλεγον αὐτοῖς · τί ποιεῖτε λύοντες τὸν πῶλον ;
Et quidam de illic stantibus dicebant illis : Quid facitis solventes pullum ?
ወይቤልዎሙ እለ ይቀውሙ ህየ ምንተ ትገብሩ ዘትፈትሑ ዕዋለ ።
Some of those who stood there asked them, “What are you doing, untying the young donkey?”
11:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτοῖς καθὼς εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς · καὶ ἀφῆκαν αὐτούς .
Qui dixerunt eis sicut praeceperat illis Jesus , et dimiserunt eis .
ወይቤልዎሙ በከመ አዘዞሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወኀደግዎሙ ።
They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.
11:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ φέρουσιν τὸν πῶλον πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν , καὶ ἐπιβάλλουσιν αὐτῷ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν , καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐπ’ αὐτόν .
Et duxerunt pullum ad Jesum : et imponunt illi vestimenta sua , et sedit super eum .
ወወሰድዎ ለዕዋል ኀበ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወረሐኑ ላዕሌሁ አልባሲሆሙ ወአጽዐንዎ ።
They brought the young donkey to Jesus and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.
11:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ πολλοὶ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν ἔστρωσαν εἰς τὴν ὁδόν , ἄλλοι δὲ στιβάδας , κόψαντες ἐκ τῶν ἀγρῶν .
Multi autem vestimenta sua straverunt in via : alii autem frondes caedebant de arboribus , et sternebant in via .
ወብዙኃን እለ ነጸፉ ቈጽለ መቲሮሙ እምዕፀው ወቦ እለ ነጸፉ አልባሲሆሙ ውስተ ፍኖት ።
Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees and spreading them on the road.
11:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οἱ προάγοντες καὶ οἱ ἀκολουθοῦντες ἔκραζον · ὡσαννά , εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου ·
Et qui praeibant , et qui sequebantur , clamabant , dicentes : Hosanna : benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini :
እለሂ ይመርሑ ወእለሂ ይተልዉ ይኬልሑ ወይብሉ ሆሣዕና «ቡሩክ ዘይመጽእ በስመ እግዚአብሔር ።»
Those who went in front and those who followed cried out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
11:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ εὐλογημένη ἡ ἐρχομένη βασιλεία τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν Δαυείδ , ὡσαννὰ ἐν τοῖς ὑψίστοις .
benedictum quod venit regnum patris nostri David : hosanna in excelsis .
ወቡርክት እንተ ትመጽእ መንግሥት በስመ እግዚአብሔር እንተ አቡነ ዳዊት ሆሣዕና በአርያም ።
Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
11:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα εἰς τὸ ἱερόν · καὶ περιβλεψάμενος πάντα , ὀψὲ ἤδη οὔσης τῆς ὥρας , ἐξῆλθεν εἰς Βηθανίαν μετὰ τῶν δώδεκα .
Et introivit Jerosolymam in templum : et circumspectis omnibus , cum jam vespera esset hora , exiit in Bethaniam cum duodecim .
ወቦአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኢየሩሳሌም ኀበ ቤተ መቅደስ ወርእዮ ኵሎ ሶበ መስየ ሖረ ቢታንያ ምስለ ዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ ።
Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
11:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ τῇ ἐπαύριον ἐξελθόντων αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Βηθανίας ἐπείνασεν .
Et alia die cum exirent a Bethania , esuriit .
ወበሳኒታ ወፂኦ እምቢታንያ ርኅበ ፤
The next day, when they had come out from Bethany, he was hungry.
11:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἰδὼν συκῆν ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἔχουσαν φύλλα , ἦλθεν εἰ ἄρα τι εὑρήσει ἐν αὐτῇ , καὶ ἐλθὼν ἐπ’ αὐτὴν οὐδὲν εὗρεν εἰ μὴ φύλλα · ὁ γὰρ καιρὸς οὐκ ἦν σύκων .
Cumque vidisset a longe ficum habentem folia , venit si quid forte inveniret in ea : et cum venisset ad eam , nihil invenit praeter folia : non enim erat tempus ficorum .
ወርእየ በለሰ እምርኁቅ ወባቲ ቈጽል ወሖረ ይርአይ እመቦ ዘይረክብ ፍሬ በውስቴታ ወበጺሖ ኀቤሃ አልቦ ዘረከበ ዘእንበለ ቈጽል ባሕቲቱ እስመ ኢኮነ ጊዜሁ ለበለስ ።
Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
11:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτῇ · μηκέτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἐκ σοῦ μηδεὶς καρπὸν φάγοι . καὶ ἤκουον οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ .
Et respondens dixit ei : Jam non amplius in aeternum ex te fructum quisquam manducet . Et audiebant discipuli ejus .
ወአውሥአ ወይቤላ አልቦ እንከ ዘይበልዕ ፍሬ እምኔኪ ለዓለም ወሰምዕዎ አርዳኢሁ ።
Jesus told it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” and his disciples heard it.
11:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἔρχονται εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα . καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν ἤρξατο ἐκβάλλειν τοὺς πωλοῦντας καὶ τοὺς ἀγοράζοντας ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ , καὶ τὰς τραπέζας τῶν κολλυβιστῶν καὶ τὰς καθέδρας τῶν πωλούντων τὰς περιστερὰς κατέστρεψεν ,
Et veniunt in Jerosolymam . Et cum introisset in templum , coepit ejicere vendentes et ementes in templo : et mensas numulariorum , et cathedras vendentium columbas evertit :
ወበጽሐ ኢየሩሳሌም ወቦአ ቤተ መቅደስ ወአኀዘ ይስድድ እለ ይሠይጡ ወይሣየጡ በምኵራብ ወገፍትዐ ማእዳቲሆሙ ለመወልጣን ወመናብርቲሆሙ ለእለ ይሠይጡ ርግበ ።
They came to Jerusalem, and Jesus entered into the temple and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers’ tables and the seats of those who sold the doves.
11:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐκ ἤφιεν ἵνα τις διενέγκῃ σκεῦος διὰ τοῦ ἱεροῦ ,
et non sinebat ut quisquam transferret vas per templum :
ወከልአ አልቦ ዘየኀልፍ ንዋየ እንተ ምኵራብ ።
He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.
11:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐδίδασκεν καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς · οὐ γέγραπται ὅτι ὁ οἶκός μου οἶκος προσευχῆς κληθήσεται πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ; ὑμεῖς δὲ πεποιήκατε αὐτὸν σπήλαιον λῃστῶν .
et docebat , dicens eis : Nonne scriptum est : Quia domus mea , domus orationis vocabitur omnibus gentibus ? vos autem fecistis eam speluncam latronum .
ወመሀሮሙ ወይቤሎሙ አኮኑ ጽሑፍ ዘይብል «ቤትየሰ ቤተ ጸሎት ይከውን ለኵሉ አሕዛብ » ወአንትሙሰ ረሰይክምዎ በኣተ ፈያት ወሰረቅት ።
He taught, saying to them, “Isn’t it written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers!”
11:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἤκουσαν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς , καὶ ἐζήτουν πῶς αὐτὸν ἀπολέσωσιν · ἐφοβοῦντο γὰρ αὐτόν , πᾶς γὰρ ὁ ὄχλος ἐξεπλήσσοντο ἐπὶ τῇ διδαχῇ αὐτοῦ .
Quo audito principes sacerdotum et scribae , quaerebant quomodo eum perderent : timebant enim eum , quoniam universa turba admirabatur super doctrina ejus .
ወሰምዕዎ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍት ወኀሠሡ እንተ ኀበ ይቀትልዎ ወፈርህዎ እስመ ኵሉ ሕዝብ ያነክሩ ምህሮቶ ።
The chief priests and the scribes heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.
11:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ὅταν ὀψὲ ἐγένετο , ἐξεπορεύοντο ἔξω τῆς πόλεως .
Et cum vespera facta esset , egrediebatur de civitate .
ወእምከመ መስየ ይወፅእ አፍኣ እምሀገር ።
When evening came, he went out of the city.
11:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ παραπορευόμενοι πρωῒ εἶδον τὴν συκῆν ἐξηραμμένην ἐκ ῥιζῶν .
Et cum mane transirent , viderunt ficum aridam factam a radicibus .
ወበግብአቶሙ በነግህ ረከብዋ ለይእቲ በለስ ይብስተ እምሥርዋ ።
As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots.
11:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀναμνησθεὶς ὁ Πέτρος λέγει αὐτῷ , ῥαββεί , ἴδε ἡ συκῆ ἣν κατηράσω ἐξήρανται .
Et recordatus Petrus , dixit ei : Rabbi , ecce ficus , cui maledixisti , aruit .
ወተዘከረ ጴጥሮስ ወይቤሎ ሊቅ ነያ እንታክቲ በለስ እንተ ረገምካ የብሰት ።
Peter, remembering, said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away.”
11:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγει αὐτοῖς , ἔχετε πίστιν θεοῦ ,
Et respondens Jesus ait illis : Habete fidem Dei .
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ ሃይማኖተ እግዚአብሔር ርከቡ ፤
Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.
11:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ὃς ἂν εἴπῃ τῷ ὄρει τούτῳ · ἄρθητι καὶ βλήθητι εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν , καὶ μὴ διακριθῇ ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ , ἀλλὰ πιστεύῃ ὅτι ὃ λαλεῖ γίνεται , ἔσται αὐτῷ .
Amen dico vobis , quia quicumque dixerit huic monti : Tollere , et mittere in mare , et non haesitaverit in corde suo , sed crediderit , quia quodcumque dixerit fiat , fiet ei .
አማን እብለክሙ ለእመ ትብልዎ ለዝ ደብር ተንሥእ ወተወረው ውስተ ባሕር ወኢናፈቅሙ በልብክሙ ወተአመንክሙ ከመ ዘነበብክሙ ይከውን ወትረክቡ ።
For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and doesn’t doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening, he shall have whatever he says.
11:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ διὰ τοῦτο λέγω ὑμῖν , πάντα ὅσα προσεύχεσθε καὶ αἰτεῖσθε , πιστεύετε ὅτι ἐλάβετε , καὶ ἔσται ὑμῖν .
Propterea dico vobis , omnia quaecumque orantes petitis , credite quia accipietis , et evenient vobis .
ወበእንተ ዝንቱ እብለክሙ ኵሎ ዘጸለይክሙ ወዘሰአልክሙ እንዘ ትትአመኑ ከመ ትረክቡ ወይከውነክሙ ።
Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them.
11:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὅταν στήκετε προσευχόμενοι , ἀφίετε εἴ τι ἔχετε κατά τινος , ἵνα καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς ἀφῇ ὑμῖν τὰ παραπτώματα ὑμῶν .
Et cum stabitis ad orandum , dimittite si quid habetis adversus aliquem : ut et Pater vester , qui in caelis est , dimittat vobis peccata vestra .
ወሶበሂ ትጼልዩ ኅድጉ አበሳ ለቢጽክሙ ዘተሓየስክምዎሙ ከመ ይኅድግ ለክሙ አቡክሙ ዘበሰማያት አበሳክሙ ።
Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions.
11:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ — Quod si vos non dimiseritis : nec Pater vester , qui in caelis est , dimittet vobis peccata vestra .
ወእመሰ አንትሙ ኢኀደግሙ አቡክሙኒ ሰማያዊ ኢየኀድግ ለክሙ አበሳክሙ ።
But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions.”
11:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἔρχονται πάλιν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα . καὶ ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ περιπατοῦντος αὐτοῦ ἔρχονται πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι
Et veniunt rursus Jerosolymam . Et cum ambularet in templo , accedunt ad eum summi sacerdotes , et scribae , et seniores :
ወሖረ ካዕበ ኢየሩሳሌም ወእንዘ ያንሶሱ በምኵራብ መጽኡ ኀቤሁ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍት ወረበናት ።
They came again to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to him,
11:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἔλεγον αὐτῷ · ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιεῖς ; ἢ τίς σοι τὴν ἐξουσίαν ταύτην ἔδωκεν ἵνα ταῦτα ποιῇς ;
et dicunt ei : In qua potestate haec facis ? et quis dedit tibi hanc potestatem ut ista facias ?
ወይቤልዎ በመባሕተ መኑ ትገብር ከመዝ ወመኑ አብሐከ ትግበር ዘንተ ።
and they began saying to him, “By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”
11:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · ἐπερωτήσω ὑμᾶς ἕνα λόγον , καὶ ἀποκρίθητέ μοι , καὶ ἐρῶ ὑμῖν ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιῶ ·
Jesus autem respondens , ait illis : Interrogabo vos et ego unum verbum , et respondete mihi : et dicam vobis in qua potestate haec faciam .
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አነሂ እሴአለክሙ አሐተ ነገረ ወንግሩኒ ወአነሂ እነግረክሙ በመባሕተ መኑ እገብር ዘንተ ።
Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
11:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ τὸ βάπτισμα τὸ Ἰωάννου ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἦν ἢ ἐξ ἀνθρώπων ; ἀποκρίθητέ μοι .
Baptismus Joannis , de caelo erat , an ex hominibus ? Respondete mihi .
ጥምቀቱ ለዮሐንስ እምአይቴኑ እምሰማይኑ አው እምሰብእኑ አይድዑኒ ።
The baptism of John—was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me.”
11:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ διελογίζοντο πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς λέγοντες · ἐὰν εἴπωμεν · ἐξ οὐρανοῦ , ἐρεῖ · διατί οὖν οὐκ ἐπιστεύσατε αὐτῷ ;
At illi cogitabant secum , dicentes : Si dixerimus : De caelo , dicet : Quare ergo non credidistis ei ?
ወተባሀሉ በበይናቲሆሙ ለእመ ንብሎ እምሰማይ ይብለነ ለምንት ኢአመንክምዎ ።
They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we should say, ‘From heaven;’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’
11:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ εἴπωμεν · ἐξ ἀνθρώπων ; ἐφοβοῦντο τὸν λαόν · ἅπαντες γὰρ εἶχον τὸν Ἰωάννην ὄντως ὅτι προφήτης ἦν .
Si dixerimus : Ex hominibus , timemus populum : omnes enim habebant Joannem quia vere propheta esset .
ወለእመኒ ንብሎ እምሰብእ ንፈርሆሙ ለሕዝብ እስመ ኵሎሙ ከመ ነቢይ ይሬእይዎ ለዮሐንስ ።
If we should say, ‘From men’”—they feared the people, for all held John to really be a prophet.
11:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀποκριθέντες τῷ Ἰησοῦ λέγουσιν · οὐκ οἴδαμεν . καὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγει αὐτοῖς · οὐδὲ ἐγὼ λέγω ὑμῖν ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιῶ .
Et respondentes dicunt Jesu : Nescimus . Et respondens Jesus ait illis : Neque ego dico vobis in qua potestate haec faciam .
ወተሰጥውዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤልዎ ኢነአምር ። ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ አነኒ ኢይነግረክሙ በመባሕተ መኑ እገብር ከመዝ ።
They answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
