22:1
Ἤγγιζεν δὲ ἡ ἑορτὴ τῶν ἀζύμων ἡ λεγομένη πάσχα,
Appropinquabat autem dies festus azymorum, qui dicitur Pascha :
ወቀርበ በዓለ መጸለት ዘስሙ ፋሲካ።
Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, was approaching.
22:2
καὶ ἐζήτουν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς τὸ πῶς ἀνέλωσιν αὐτόν· ἐφοβοῦντο γὰρ τὸν λαόν.
et quaerebant principes sacerdotum, et scribae, quomodo Jesum interficerent : timebant vero plebem.
ወየኀሠሡ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍት በዘይቀትልዎ ወኮኑ ይፈርህዎሙ ለሕዝብ።
The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.
22:3
Εἰσῆλθεν δὲ σατανᾶς εἰς Ἰούδαν τὸν καλούμενον Ἰσκαριώτην, ὄντα ἐκ τοῦ ἀριθμοῦ τῶν δώδεκα·
Intravit autem Satanas in Judam, qui cognominabatur Iscariotes, unum de duodecim :
ወቦአ ሰይጣን ውስተ ልበ ይሁዳ አስቆሮታዊ ዘእምዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ ኍልቁ።
Satan entered into Judas, who was also called Iscariot, who was counted with the twelve.
22:4
καὶ ἀπελθὼν συνελάλησεν τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ στρατηγοῖς τὸ πῶς αὐτοῖς παραδῷ αὐτόν.
et abiit, et locutus est cum principibus sacerdotum, et magistratibus, quemadmodum illum traderet eis.
ወሖረ ወተናገሮሙ ለሊቃነ ካህናት ወለጸሐፍት ዘከመ ያገብኦ ሎሙ።
He went away and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.
22:5
καὶ ἐχάρησαν, καὶ συνέθεντο αὐτῷ ἀργύριον δοῦναι·
Et gavisi sunt, et pacti sunt pecuniam illi dare.
ወተፈሥሑ ወተሰናዐዉ ምስሌሁ ወተናገርዎ የሀብዎ ሠላሳ ብሩረ ወአስተኃለቁ ነገረ።
They were glad, and agreed to give him money.
22:6
καὶ ἐξωμολόγησεν, καὶ ἐζήτει εὐκαιρίαν τοῦ παραδοῦναι αὐτὸν ἄτερ ὄχλου αὐτοῖς.
Et spopondit, et quaerebat opportunitatem ut traderet illum sine turbis.
ወየኀሥሥ ሣኅተ ያግብኦ ሎሙ እንዘ አልቦ ሰብእ።
He consented and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.
22:7
Ἦλθεν δὲ ἡ ἡμέρα τῶν ἀζύμων, ἐν ᾗ ἔδει θύεσθαι τὸ πάσχα,
Venit autem dies azymorum, in qua necesse erat occidi pascha.
ወበጽሐት ዕለተ መጸለት አመ ይጠብሑ ፍሥሐ።
The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.
22:8
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Πέτρον καὶ Ἰωάννην εἰπών· πορευθέντες ἑτοιμάσατε ἡμῖν τὸ πάσχα ἵνα φάγωμεν.
Et misit Petrum et Joannem, dicens : Euntes parate nobis pascha, ut manducemus.
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለጴጥሮስ ወለዮሐንስ ሑሩ ወአስተዳልዉ ለነ ፍሥሐ ዘንበልዕ።
Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”
22:9
οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῷ· ποῦ θέλεις ἑτοιμάσωμεν;
At illi dixerunt : Ubi vis paremus ?
ወይቤልዎ በአይቴ ትፈቅድ ናስተዳሉ ለከ።
They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare?”
22:10
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ἰδοὺ εἰσελθόντων ὑμῶν εἰς τὴν πόλιν συναντήσει ὑμῖν ἄνθρωπος κεράμιον ὕδατος βαστάζων· ἀκολουθήσατε αὐτῷ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν εἰς ἣν εἰσπορεύεται.
Et dixit ad eos : Ecce introëuntibus vobis in civitatem occurret vobis homo quidam amphoram aquae portans : sequimini eum in domum, in quam intrat,
ወይቤሎሙ በዊአክሙ ሀገረ ትረክቡ ብእሴ ዘይጸውር ጻሕበ ማይ ወትልውዎ ኪያሁ ኀበ ቦአ ቤተ።
He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.
22:11
καὶ ἐρεῖτε τῷ οἰκοδεσπότῃ τῆς οἰκίας· λέγει σοι ὁ διδάσκαλος· ποῦ ἔστιν τὸ κατάλυμα ὅπου τὸ πάσχα μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν μου φάγω;
et dicetis patrifamilias domus : Dicit tibi Magister : Ubi est diversorium, ubi pascha cum discipulis meis manducem ?
ወበልዎ ለበዓለ ውእቱ ቤት ይቤለከ ሊቅ አይቴኑ ቤት ኀበ እበልዕ ፍሥሐ ምስለ አርዳእየ።
Tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
22:12
κἀκεῖνος ὑμῖν δείξει ἀνάγαιον μέγα ἐστρωμένον· ἐκεῖ ἑτοιμάσατε.
Et ipse ostendet vobis coenaculum magnum stratum, et ibi parate.
ወውእቱ ያርእየክሙ ጽርሐ ዐቢየ ወንጹፈ ወሥርግወ ወበህየ አስተዳልዉ ለነ።
He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.”
22:13
ἀπελθόντες δὲ εὗρον καθὼς εἰρήκει αὐτοῖς, καὶ ἡτοίμασαν τὸ πάσχα.
Euntes autem invenerunt sicut dixit illis, et paraverunt pascha.
ወሐዊሮሙ ረከቡ በከመ ይቤሎሙ ወአስተዳለዉ ፍሥሐ።
They went, found things as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
22:14
Καὶ ὅτε ἐγένετο ἡ ὥρα, ἀνέπεσεν, καὶ οἱ ἀπόστολοι σὺν αὐτῷ.
Et cum facta esset hora, discubuit, et duodecim apostoli cum eo.
ወሶበ ኮነ ጊዜሁ ረፈቀ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ ሐዋርያቲሁ ምስሌሁ።
When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve apostles.
22:15
καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· ἐπιθυμίᾳ ἐπεθύμησα τοῦτο τὸ πάσχα φαγεῖν μεθ’ ὑμῶν πρὸ τοῦ με παθεῖν·
Et ait illis : Desiderio desideravi hoc pascha manducare vobiscum, antequam patiar.
ወይቤሎሙ ፈቲወ ፈተውክዎ ለዝንቱ ፋሲካ እብላዕ ምስሌክሙ ዘእንበለ ይብጽሐኒ ሕማምየ።
He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
22:16
λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐκέτι οὐ μὴ φάγω αὐτὸ ἕως ὅτου πληρωθῇ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ.
Dico enim vobis, quia ex hoc non manducabo illud, donec impleatur in regno Dei.
እብለክሙ ባሕቱ ከመ ኢይበልዕ እንከ እምኔሁ እስከ ይትፌጸም በመንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር።
for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in God’s Kingdom.”
22:17
καὶ δεξάμενος ποτήριον εὐχαριστήσας εἶπεν· λάβετε τοῦτο καὶ διαμερίσατε εἰς ἑαυτούς·
Et accepto calice gratias egit, et dixit : Accipite, et dividite inter vos.
ወተመጠወ ጽዋዐ ወአእኰተ ወይቤ ንሥኡ ዘንተ ወተካፈልዎ ኵልክሙ።
He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves,
22:18
λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐ μὴ πίω ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ γενήματος τῆς ἀμπέλου ἕως ὅτου ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἔλθῃ.
Dico enim vobis quod non bibam de generatione vitis donec regnum Dei veniat.
እብለክሙ ኢይሰቲ እንከ እምዝንቱ ፍሬ ወይን እስከ ትመጽእ መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ።
for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until God’s Kingdom comes.”
22:19
Καὶ λαβὼν ἄρτον εὐχαριστήσας ἔκλασεν καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς λέγων· τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ σῶμά μου τὸ ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν διδόμενον· τοῦτο ποιεῖτε εἰς ἐμὴν ἀνάμνησιν.
Et accepto pane gratias egit, et fregit, et dedit eis, dicens : Hoc est corpus meum, quod pro vobis datur : hoc facite in meam commemorationem.
ወነሥአ ኅበስተ ወአእኲቶ ፈተተ ወወሀቦሙ ወይቤሎሙ ዝንቱ ውእቱ ሥጋየ ዘይትወሀብ በእንቲኣክሙ ለቤዛ ብዙኃን ወከመዝ ግበሩ ተዝካርየ በእንቲኣየ።
He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
22:20
καὶ τὸ ποτήριον ὡσαύτως μετὰ τὸ δειπνῆσαι, λέγων· τοῦτο τὸ ποτήριον ἡ καινὴ διαθήκη ἐν τῷ αἵματί μου, τὸ ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν ἐκχυννόμενον.
Similiter et calicem, postquam coenavit, dicens : Hic est calix novum testamentum in sanguine meo, qui pro vobis fundetur.
ወከማሁ ጽዋዐኒ እምድኅረ ተደሩ ይቤሎሙ ዝንቱ ጽዋዕ ዘሐዲስ ሥርዐት ደምየ ውእቱ ዘይትከዐው በእንቲኣክሙ ወበእንተ ብዙኃን።
Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
22:21
Πλὴν ἰδοὺ ἡ χεὶρ τοῦ παραδιδόντος με μετ’ ἐμοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης·
Verumtamen ecce manus tradentis me, mecum est in mensa.
ወባሕቱ ናሁ እዴሁ ለዘያገብአኒ ምስሌየ ውስተ ማእድ።
But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.
22:22
ὅτι ὁ υἱὸς μὲν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου κατὰ τὸ ὡρισμένον πορεύεται, πλὴν οὐαὶ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι’ οὗ παραδίδοται.
Et quidem Filius hominis, secundum quod definitum est, vadit : verumtamen vae homini illi per quem tradetur.
ወወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያውሰ የሐውር በከመ ተሠርዐ በእንቲኣሁ ወባሕቱ አሌ ሎቱ ለውእቱ ብእሲ ዘበውስተ እዴሁ ይትሜጠውዎ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው።
The Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!”
22:23
καὶ αὐτοὶ ἤρξαντο συζητεῖν πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς τὸ τίς ἄρα εἴη ἐξ αὐτῶν ὁ τοῦτο μέλλων πράσσειν.
Et ipsi coeperunt quaerere inter se quis esset ex eis qui hoc facturus esset.
ወተባሀሉ በበይናቲሆሙ አርዳኢሁ መኑ እንጋ ውእቱ እምኔሆሙ ዘዘንተ ይገብር።
They began to question among themselves which of them it was who would do this thing.
22:24
Ἐγένετο δὲ καὶ φιλονεικία ἐν αὐτοῖς, τὸ τίς αὐτῶν δοκεῖ εἶναι μείζων.
Facta est autem et contentio inter eos, quis eorum videretur esse major.
ወእምዝ ተዋክሑ በበይናቲሆሙ እንዘ ይብሉ መኑ እንጋ የዐቢ እምኔሆሙ።
A dispute also arose among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.
22:25
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· οἱ βασιλεῖς τῶν ἐθνῶν κυριεύουσιν αὐτῶν, καὶ οἱ ἐξουσιάζοντες αὐτῶν εὐεργέται καλοῦνται.
Dixit autem eis : Reges gentium dominantur eorum : et qui potestatem habent super eos, benefici vocantur.
ወይቤሎሙ ነገሥቶሙ ለአሕዛብ ይኴንንዎሙ ወይቀንይዎሙ ወመኳንንቲሆሙ ረዳእያነ ይብልዎሙ።
He said to them, “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’
22:26
ὑμεῖς δὲ οὐχ οὕτως, ἀλλ’ ὁ μείζων ἐν ὑμῖν γινέσθω ὡς ὁ νεώτερος, καὶ ὁ ἡγούμενος ὡς ὁ διακονῶν.
Vos autem non sic : sed qui major est in vobis, fiat sicut minor : et qui praecessor est, sicut ministrator.
ወለክሙሰ አኮ ከመዝ አላ ዘየዐቢ እምኔክሙ ይኩንክሙ ከመ ዘይንእስ ወሊቅኒ ይኩን ከመ ላእክ።
But not so with you. Rather, the one who is greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.
22:27
τίς γὰρ μείζων, ὁ ἀνακείμενος ἢ ὁ διακονῶν; οὐχὶ ὁ ἀνακείμενος; ἐγὼ δὲ ἐν μέσῳ ὑμῶν εἰμι ὡς ὁ διακονῶν.
Nam quis major est, qui recumbit, an qui ministrat ? nonne qui recumbit ? Ego autem in medio vestrum sum, sicut qui ministrat :
መኑ ውእቱ ዘየዐቢ ዘይረፍቅኑ ወሚመ ዘይትለአክ አኮኑ ዘይረፍቅ ወአንሰ ናሁ ከመ ላእክ በማእከሌክሙ።
For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
22:28
ὑμεῖς δέ ἐστε οἱ διαμεμενηκότες μετ’ ἐμοῦ ἐν τοῖς πειρασμοῖς μου·
vos autem estis, qui permansistis mecum in tentationibus meis.
ወአንትሙሰ ባሕቱ እለ በእንቲኣየ ተዐገሥክሙ ምስሌየ በሕማምየ።
“But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.
22:29
κἀγὼ διατίθεμαι ὑμῖν καθὼς διέθετό μοι ὁ πατήρ μου βασιλείαν,
Et ego dispono vobis sicut disposuit mihi Pater meus regnum,
አነኒ አስተዳሉ ለክሙ መንግሥተ በከመ ሊተ ወሀበኒ አቡየ።
I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,
22:30
ἵνα ἔσθητε καὶ πίνητε ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης μου ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ μου, καὶ καθήσεσθε ἐπὶ θρόνων κρίνοντες τὰς δώδεκα φυλὰς τοῦ Ἰσραήλ.
ut edatis et bibatis super mensam meam in regno meo, et sedeatis super thronos judicantes duodecim tribus Israël.
ከመ ትብልዑ ወትስተዩ በማእድየ በመንግሥትየ ወትነብሩ ዲበ መናብርት ወትኴንኑ ዐሠርተ ወክልኤተ ሕዝበ እስራኤል።
that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
22:31
Σίμων Σίμων, ἰδοὺ ὁ σατανᾶς ἐξῃτήσατο ὑμᾶς τοῦ σινιάσαι ὡς τὸν σῖτον·
Ait autem Dominus : Simon, Simon, ecce Satanas expetivit vos ut cribraret sicut triticum :
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለስምዖን ስምዖን ስምዖን ናሁ ስኢለ ሰአለ ሰይጣን የኀንፅፅክሙ ወየኀንፍጽክሙ ከመ ዐለስ።
The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat,
22:32
ἐγὼ δὲ ἐδεήθην περὶ σοῦ ἵνα μὴ ἐκλίπῃ ἡ πίστις σου. καὶ σύ ποτε ἐπιστρέψας στήρισον τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου.
ego autem rogavi pro te ut non deficiat fides tua : et tu aliquando conversus, confirma fratres tuos.
ወአንሰ ሰአልኩ በእንቲኣክሙ ከመ ኢይድክም ሃይማኖትክሙ ወአንተኒ ተመዪጠከ ጸንዖሙ ለአኀዊከ።
but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.”
22:33
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· κύριε, μετὰ σοῦ ἕτοιμός εἰμι καὶ εἰς φυλακὴν καὶ εἰς θάνατον πορεύεσθαι.
Qui dixit ei : Domine, tecum paratus sum et in carcerem et in mortem ire.
ወይቤሎ እግዚኦ አንሰኬ ጥቡዕ ለሐዊር ምስሌከ ውስተ ኢየሩሳሌም እመኒ ለተሞቅሖ ወእመኒ ለመዊት።
He said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”
22:34
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· λέγω σοι, Πέτρε, οὐ φωνήσει σήμερον ἀλέκτωρ ἕως τρίς ἀπαρνήσῃ μὴ εἰδέναι με.
At ille dixit : Dico tibi, Petre, non cantabit hodie gallus, donec ter abneges nosse me. Et dixit eis :
ወይቤሎ እብለከ ጴጥሮስ ዮም ዘእንበለ ይንቁ ዶርሆ ሥልሰ ትክሕደኒ ከመ ዘኢተአምረኒ።
He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”
22:35
Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ὅτε ἀπέστειλα ὑμᾶς ἄτερ βαλλαντίου καὶ πήρας καὶ ὑποδημάτων, μή τινος ὑστερήσατε; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· οὐθενός.
Quando misi vos sine sacculo, et pera, et calceamentis, numquid aliquid defuit vobis ?
ወይቤሎሙ አመ ፈነውኩክሙ ዘእንበለ ቍናማት ወጽፍነት ወአሣእን ቦኑ ዘተጸነስክሙ።
He said to them, “When I sent you out without purse, bag, and sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
22:36
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ἀλλὰ νῦν ὁ ἔχων βαλλάντιον ἀράτω, ὁμοίως καὶ πήραν, καὶ ὁ μὴ ἔχων πωλησάτω τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀγορασάτω μάχαιραν.
At illi dixerunt : Nihil. Dixit ergo eis : Sed nunc qui habet sacculum, tollat ; similiter et peram : et qui non habet, vendat tunicam suam et emat gladium.
ወይቤልዎ አልቦ ወይቤሎሙ ይእዜሰኬ ዘቦ ቍናማት ይንሣእ ሎቱ ወከማሁ ዘሂ ጽፍነት ወዘሰ አልቦ መጥባሕት ይሢጥ ልብሶ ወይሣየጥ ሎቱ መጥባሕተ።
Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
22:37
λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι τοῦτο τὸ γεγραμμένον δεῖ τελεσθῆναι ἐν ἐμοί, τό· καὶ μετὰ ἀνόμων ἐλογίσθη· καὶ γὰρ τὸ περὶ ἐμοῦ τέλος ἔχει.
Dico enim vobis, quoniam adhuc hoc quod scriptum est, oportet impleri in me : Et cum iniquis deputatus est. Etenim ea quae sunt de me finem habent.
እብለክሙ ከመ ይበጽሐኒ ዘጽሑፍ ወይትፌጸም በላዕሌየ ዘይብል ምስለ ኃጥኣን ተኈለቈ ወኵሉ ዘበእንቲኣየ ይትፌጸም።
For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’ For that which concerns me is being fulfilled.”
22:38
οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· κύριε, ἰδοὺ μάχαιραι ὧδε δύο. ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ἱκανόν ἐστιν.
At illi dixerunt : Domine, ecce duo gladii hic. At ille dixit eis : Satis est.
ወይቤልዎ እግዚኦ ነዋ ሀለዉ ኀቤነ ክልኤቱ መጣብሕ ዝየ ወይቤሎሙ የአክለክሙ እንከሰ።
They said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.” He said to them, “That is enough.”
22:39
Καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἐπορεύθη κατὰ τὸ ἔθος εἰς τὸ ὄρος τῶν ἐλαιῶν· ἠκολούθησαν δὲ αὐτῷ καὶ οἱ μαθηταί.
Et egressus ibat secundum consuetudinem in monte Olivarum. Secuti sunt autem illum et discipuli.
ወወፂኦ ሖረ በከመ ያለምድ ይጸሊ ደብረ ዘይት ወተለውዎ አርዳኢሁ።
He came out and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him.
22:40
γενόμενος δὲ ἐπὶ τοῦ τόπου εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· προσεύχεσθε μὴ εἰσελθεῖν εἰς πειρασμόν.
Et cum pervenisset ad locum, dixit illis : Orate ne intretis in tentationem.
ወበጺሖ ህየ ይቤሎሙ ጸልዩ ከመ ኢትባኡ ውስተ መንሱት።
When he was at the place, he said to them, “Pray that you don’t enter into temptation.”
22:41
καὶ αὐτὸς ἀπεσπάσθη ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ὡσεὶ λίθου βολήν, καὶ θεὶς τὰ γόνατα προσηύχετο
Et ipse avulsus est ab eis quantum jactus est lapidis : et positis genibus orabat,
ወተአተተ እምኔሆሙ መጠነ ሙጋረ እብን ወሰገደ ወጸለየ።
He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and he knelt down and prayed,
22:42
λέγων· πάτερ, εἰ βούλει παρενέγκαι τοῦτο τὸ ποτήριον ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ· πλὴν μὴ τὸ θέλημά μου ἀλλὰ τὸ σὸν γινέσθω.
dicens : Pater, si vis, transfer calicem istum a me : verumtamen non mea voluntas, sed tua fiat.
እንዘ ይብል አባ ለእመ ትፈቅድ አግኅሦ ለዝንቱ ጽዋዕ እምኔየ ወባሕቱ ፈቃደ ዚኣከ ይኩን ወአኮ ፈቃደ ዚኣየ።
saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
22:43
ὤφθη δὲ αὐτῷ ἄγγελος ἀπ’ οὐρανοῦ ἐνισχύων αὐτόν.
Apparuit autem illi angelus de caelo, confortans eum. Et factus in agonia, prolixius orabat.
ወአስተርአዮ መልአከ እግዚአብሔር እምሰማይ ዘይጼንዖ።
An angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.
22:44
καὶ γενόμενος ἐν ἀγωνίᾳ ἐκτενέστερον προσηύχετο· καὶ ἐγένετο ὁ ἱδρὼς αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ θρόμβοι αἵματος καταβαίνοντος ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν.
Et factus est sudor ejus sicut guttae sanguinis decurrentis in terram.
ወፈርሀ ወአውተረ ጸልዮ ወኮነ ሐፉ ከመ ነጸፍጻፈ ደም ዘይወርድ ውስተ ምድር።
Being in agony, he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.
22:45
καὶ ἀναστὰς ἀπὸ τῆς προσευχῆς ἐλθὼν πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς εὗρεν κοιμωμένους αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῆς λύπης,
Et cum surrexisset ab oratione et venisset ad discipulos suos, invenit eos dormientes prae tristitia.
ወተንሢኦ እምኀበ ይጼሊ ሖረ ኀበ አርዳኢሁ ወረከቦሙ እንዘ ይነውሙ እምኀዘን።
When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping because of grief,
22:46
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· τί καθεύδετε; ἀναστάντες προσεύχεσθε, ἵνα μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς πειρασμόν.
Et ait illis : Quid dormitis ? surgite, orate, ne intretis in tentationem.
ወይቤሎሙ ምንትኑ ያነውመክሙ ተንሥኡ ወጸልዩ ከመ ኢትባኡ ውስተ መንሱት።
and said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
22:47
Ἔτι αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ἰδοὺ ὄχλος, καὶ ὁ λεγόμενος Ἰούδας εἷς τῶν δώδεκα προήρχετο αὐτούς, καὶ ἤγγισεν τῷ Ἰησοῦ φιλῆσαι αὐτόν.
Adhuc eo loquente, ecce turba : et qui vocabatur Judas, unus de duodecim, antecedebat eos, et appropinquavit Jesu ut oscularetur eum.
ወእንዘ ዘንተ ይብሎሙ በጽሑ ሕዝብ ወይሁዳ አሐዱ እምዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ አርዳኢሁ ይመርሖሙ ወቀርበ ኀቤሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወሰዐሞ ወዝ ውእቱ ትእምርት ዘወሀቦሙ ወይቤሎሙ ዘሰዐምክዎ ውእቱ ኪያሁ አኀዙ አጽኒዐክሙ።
While he was still speaking, a crowd appeared. He who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him.
22:48
Ἰησοῦς δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ἰούδα, φιλήματι τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδως;
Jesus autem dixit illi : Juda, osculo Filium hominis tradis ?
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለይሁዳ በስዒምኑ ታገብኦ ለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው አኮኑ ከመ ታቅትሎ።
But Jesus said to him, “Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”
22:49
ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ περὶ αὐτὸν τὸ ἐσόμενον εἶπαν· κύριε, εἰ πατάξομεν ἐν μαχαίρῃ;
Videntes autem hi qui circa ipsum erant, quod futurum erat, dixerunt ei : Domine, si percutimus in gladio ?
ወርእዮሙ እለ ምስሌሁ ይቤልዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ እግዚኦ ትፈቅድኑ ንዝብጦሙ በመጥባሕት።
When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”
22:50
καὶ ἐπάταξεν εἷς τις ἐξ αὐτῶν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως τὸν δοῦλον καὶ ἀφεῖλεν τὸ οὖς αὐτοῦ τὸ δεξιόν.
Et percussit unus ex illis servum principis sacerdotum, et amputavit auriculam ejus dexteram.
ወዘበጦ አሐዱ እምኔሆሙ ለገብረ ሊቀ ካህናት ወመተሮ እዝኖ ዘየማን።
A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
22:51
ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· ἐᾶτε ἕως τούτου. καὶ ἁψάμενος τοῦ ὠτίου ἰάσατο αὐτόν.
Respondens autem Jesus, ait : Sinite usque huc. Et cum tetigisset auriculam ejus, sanavit eum.
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ ኅድግ ዘንተሰ ወገሠሦ እዝኖ ሶቤሃ ወአሕየዎ።
But Jesus answered, “Let me at least do this”—and he touched his ear and healed him.
22:52
εἶπεν δὲ Ἰησοῦς πρὸς τοὺς παραγενομένους πρὸς αὐτὸν ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ στρατηγοὺς τοῦ ἱεροῦ καὶ πρεσβυτέρους· ὡς ἐπὶ λῃστὴν ἐξεληλύθατε μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων·
Dixit autem Jesus ad eos qui venerant ad se principes sacerdotum, et magistratus templi, et seniores : Quasi ad latronem existis cum gladiis et fustibus ?
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለእለ መጽኡ ኀቤሁ የአኀዝዎ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወመገብተ ምኵራብ ወረበናት ከመ ሰራቂኑ ተአኀዙኒ መጻእክሙ ምስለ መጣብሕ ወዕፀው።
Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
22:53
καθ’ ἡμέραν ὄντος μου μεθ’ ὑμῶν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ οὐκ ἐξετείνατε τὰς χεῖρας ἐπ’ ἐμέ. ἀλλ’ αὕτη ἐστὶν ὑμῶν ἡ ὥρα καὶ ἡ ἐξουσία τοῦ σκότους.
Cum quotidie vobiscum fuerim in templo, non extendistis manus in me : sed haec est hora vestra, et potestas tenebrarum.
ወእንዘ ኵሎ አሚረ ሀለውኩ ምስሌክሙ በምኵራብ እዴክሙ ጥቀ ኢሰፋሕክሙ ላዕሌየ ወባሕቱ ዝንቱ ውእቱ ሰዓትክሙ ወሥልጣኑ ለመኰንነ ጽልመት።
When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn’t stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
22:54
Συλλαβόντες δὲ αὐτὸν ἤγαγον καὶ εἰσήγαγον εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἀρχιερέως· ὁ δὲ Πέτρος ἠκολούθει μακρόθεν.
Comprehendentes autem eum, duxerunt ad domum principis sacerdotum : Petrus vero sequebatur a longe.
ወአኀዝዎ ወወሰድዎ ቤተ ሊቀ ካህናት ወተለዎ ጴጥሮስ እምርኁቅ።
They seized him and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.
22:55
περιαψάντων δὲ πῦρ ἐν μέσῳ τῆς αὐλῆς καὶ συνκαθισάντων ἐκάθητο ὁ Πέτρος μέσος αὐτῶν.
Accenso autem igne in medio atrii et circumsedentibus illis, erat Petrus in medio eorum.
ወአንደዱ እሳተ ማእከለ ዐጸድ ወነበሩ ወጴጥሮስኒ ነበረ ምስሌሆሙ ማእከሎሙ።
When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.
22:56
ἰδοῦσα δὲ αὐτὸν παιδίσκη τις καθήμενον πρὸς τὸ φῶς καὶ ἀτενίσασα αὐτῷ εἶπεν· καὶ οὗτος σὺν αὐτῷ ἦν.
Quem cum vidisset ancilla quaedam sedentem ad lumen, et eum fuisset intuita, dixit : Et hic cum illo erat.
ወርእየቶ ወለት እንዘ ይነብር መንገለ በርህ ወተጠየቀቶ ወትቤ ዝኒ ምስሌሁ ሀሎ።
A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”
22:57
ὁ δὲ ἠρνήσατο αὐτὸν λέγων· οὐκ οἶδα αὐτόν, γύναι.
At ille negavit eum, dicens : Mulier, non novi illum.
ወክሕደ ወይቤላ ብእሲቶ ኢየአምሮ ለዘትብሊ።
He denied Jesus, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”
22:58
καὶ μετὰ βραχὺ ἕτερος ἰδὼν αὐτὸν ἔφη· καὶ σὺ ἐξ αὐτῶν εἶ. ὁ δὲ Πέτρος ἔφη· ἄνθρωπε, οὐκ εἰμί.
Et post pusillum alius videns eum, dixit : Et tu de illis es. Petrus vero ait : O homo, non sum.
ወእምድኅረ ሕቅ ርእዮ ካልእ ወይቤሎ አንተሂ እምኔሆሙ አንተ ወይቤሎ ጴጥሮስ አንተ ብእሲ ኢኮንኩ።
After a little while someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”
22:59
καὶ διαστάσης ὡσεὶ ὥρας μιᾶς ἄλλος τις διϊσχυρίζετο λέγων· ἐπ’ ἀληθείας καὶ οὗτος μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἦν· καὶ γὰρ Γαλιλαῖός ἐστιν.
Et intervallo facto quasi horae unius, alius quidam affirmabat, dicens : Vere et hic cum illo erat : nam et Galilaeus est.
ወኀሊፎ መጠነ አሐቲ ሰዓት አጥወቆ አሐዱ ካልእ እንዘ ይብል አማን ዝንቱሂ ምስሌሁ ሀሎ ወገሊላዊ ውእቱ ብእሲሁ።
After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”
22:60
εἶπεν δὲ ὁ Πέτρος· ἄνθρωπε, οὐκ οἶδα ὃ λέγεις. καὶ παραχρῆμα ἔτι λαλοῦντος αὐτοῦ ἐφώνησεν ἀλέκτωρ,
Et ait Petrus : Homo, nescio quid dicis. Et continuo, adhuc illo loquente, cantavit gallus.
ወይቤሎ ጴጥሮስ አንተ ብእሲ ኢየአምሮ ለዘትብል ወእንዘ ውእቱ ይትናገር ዘንተ ነቀወ ዶርሆ ሶቤሃ።
But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
22:61
καὶ στραφεὶς ὁ κύριος ἐνέβλεψεν τῷ Πέτρῳ, καὶ ὑπεμνήσθη ὁ Πέτρος τοῦ λόγου τοῦ κυρίου, ὡς εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὅτι πρὶν ἀλέκτορα φωνῆσαι σήμερον ἀπαρνήσῃ με τρίς.
Et conversus Dominus respexit Petrum, et recordatus est Petrus verbi Domini, sicut dixerat : Quia priusquam gallus cantet, ter me negabis.
ወተመይጠ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወነጸሮ ለጴጥሮስ ወተዘከረ ጴጥሮስ ቃሎ ለእግዚእነ ዘይቤሎ ሥልሰ ትክሕደኒ ዮም ዘእንለ ይንቁ ዶርሆ።
The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word, how he said to him, “Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”
22:62
καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἔξω ἔκλαυσεν πικρῶς.
Et egressus foras Petrus flevit amare.
ወወፂኦ አፍኣ ጴጥሮስ በከየ ብካየ መሪረ።
He went out, and wept bitterly.
22:63
Καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ συνέχοντες αὐτὸν ἐνέπαιζον αὐτῷ δέροντες,
Et viri qui tenebant illum, illudebant ei, caedentes.
ወዕደውኒ እለ አኀዝዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ኮኑ ይሣለቁ ላዕሌሁ ወይዘብጥዎ።
The men who held Jesus mocked him and beat him.
22:64
καὶ περικαλύψαντες αὐτὸν ἐπηρώτων λέγοντες· προφήτευσον, τίς ἐστιν ὁ παίσας σε;
Et velaverunt eum, et percutiebant faciem ejus : et interrogabant eum, dicentes : Prophetiza, quis est, qui te percussit ?
ወይገለብብዎ ወይጸፍዕዎ ገጾ ወይሴአልዎ ወይብልዎ ተነበይ ለነ መኑ ውእቱ ዘጸፍዐከ።
Having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?”
22:65
καὶ ἕτερα πολλὰ βλασφημοῦντες ἔλεγον εἰς αὐτόν.
Et alia multa blasphemantes dicebant in eum.
ወባዕደኒ ብዙኀ ይቤልዎ እንዘ ይፀርፉ ላዕሌሁ።
They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.
22:66
Καὶ ὡς ἐγένετο ἡμέρα, συνήχθη τὸ πρεσβυτέριον τοῦ λαοῦ, ἀρχιερεῖς τε καὶ γραμματεῖς, καὶ ἀπήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ συνέδριον αὐτῶν, λέγοντες· εἰ σὺ εἶ ὁ Χριστός, εἰπὸν ἡμῖν.
Et ut factus est dies, convenerunt seniores plebis, et principes sacerdotum, et scribae, et duxerunt illum in concilium suum, dicentes : Si tu es Christus, dic nobis.
ወጸቢሖ ተጋብኡ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወጸሐፍት ወሊቃናተ ሕዝብ ወወሰድዎ ውስተ ዐውዶሙ።
As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people were gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,
22:67
εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς· ἐὰν ὑμῖν εἴπω οὐ μὴ πιστεύσητε·
Et ait illis : Si vobis dixero, non credetis mihi :
ወይቤልዎ እመ አንተሁ ክርስቶስ ንግረነ ገሃደ ወይቤሎሙ እመኒ አይዳእኩክሙ ኢተአምኑኒ።
“If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you won’t believe,
22:68
ἐὰν δὲ ἐρωτήσω, οὐ μὴ ἀποκριθῆτε.
si autem et interrogavero, non respondebitis mihi, neque dimittetis.
ወእመኒ ተስእልኩክሙ ኢትነግሩኒ ወኢሂ ተኀድጉኒ።
and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.
22:69
ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν δὲ ἔσται ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου καθήμενος ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς δυνάμεως τοῦ θεοῦ.
Ex hoc autem erit Filius hominis sedens a dextris virtutis Dei.
ወባሕቱ እምይእዜሰ ይነብር ወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው በየማነ ኀይለ እግዚአብሔር ።
From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
22:70
εἶπαν δὲ πάντες· σὺ οὖν εἶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ; ὁ δὲ πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἔφη· ὑμεῖς λέγετε, ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι.
Dixerunt autem omnes : Tu ergo es Filius Dei ? Qui ait : Vos dicitis, quia ego sum.
ወይቤልዎ ኵሎሙ አንተኑ እንከ ውእቱ ወልደ እግዚአብሔር ወይቤሎሙ አንትሙ ትብሉ ከመ አነ ውእቱ ወልደ እግዚአብሔር ።
They all said, “Are you then the Son of God?” He said to them, “You say it, because I am.”
22:71
οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· τί ἔτι ἔχομεν μαρτυρίας χρείαν; αὐτοὶ γὰρ ἠκούσαμεν ἀπὸ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ.
At illi dixerunt : Quid adhuc desideramus testimonium ? ipsi enim audivimus de ore ejus.
ወይቤሉ ምንተ እንከ ንፈቅድ ሰማዕተ በእንቲኣሁ ናሁ ለሊነ ሰማዕነ እምአፉሁ።
They said, “Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth!”
