17:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֤י הַגּוֹרָל֙ לְמַטֵּ֣ה מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה כִּי ־ה֖וּא בְּכ֣וֹר יוֹסֵ֑ף לְמָכִיר֩ בְּכ֨וֹר מְנַשֶּׁ֜ה אֲבִ֣י הַגִּלְעָ֗ד כִּ֣י ה֤וּא הָיָה֙ אִ֣ישׁ מִלְחָמָ֔ה וַֽיְהִי ־ל֖וֹ הַגִּלְעָ֥ד וְהַבָּשָֽׁן ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο τὰ ὅρια φυλῆς υἱῶν Μανασση ὅτι οὗτος πρωτότοκος τῷ Ιωσηφ τῷ Μαχιρ πρωτοτόκῳ Μανασση πατρὶ Γαλααδ ἀνὴρ γὰρ πολεμιστὴς ἦν ἐν τῇ Γαλααδίτιδι καὶ ἐν τῇ Βασανίτιδι
Cecidit autem sors tribui Manasse (ipse enim est primogenitus Joseph ) : Machir primogenito Manasse patri Galaad , qui fuit vir pugnator , habuitque possessionem Galaad et Basan :
ወኮነ ፡ ደወሎሙ ፡ ለነገደ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ መናሴ ፡ እስመ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ በኵሩ ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፤
This was the lot for the tribe of Manasseh, for he was the firstborn of Joseph. As for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
17:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֠יְהִ֠י לִבְנֵ֨י מְנַשֶּׁ֥ה הַנּֽוֹתָרִים֮ לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם֒ לִבְנֵ֨י אֲבִיעֶ֜זֶר וְלִבְנֵי ־חֵ֗לֶק וְלִבְנֵ֤י אַשְׂרִיאֵל֙ וְלִבְנֵי ־שֶׁ֔כֶם וְלִבְנֵי ־חֵ֖פֶר וְלִבְנֵ֣י שְׁמִידָ֑ע אֵ֠לֶּה בְּנֵ֨י מְנַשֶּׁ֧ה בֶן ־יוֹסֵ֛ף הַזְּכָרִ֖ים לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη τοῖς υἱοῖς Μανασση τοῖς λοιποῖς κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ιεζερ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Κελεζ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Ιεζιηλ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Συχεμ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Συμαριμ καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Οφερ οὗτοι οἱ ἄρσενες κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν
et reliquis filiorum Manasse juxta familias suas , filiis Abiezer , et filiis Helec , et filiis Esriel , et filiis Sechem , et filiis Hepher , et filiis Semida . Isti sunt filii Manasse filii Joseph , mares , per cognationes suas .
ለማኪር ፡ ለበኵሩ ፡ ለመናሴ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ለገላአድ ፡ እስመ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ መስተቃትል ፡ ውእቱ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ገላአድ ፡ ወበውስተ ፡ ባሳን ።
So this was for the rest of the children of Manasseh according to their families: for the children of Abiezer, for the children of Helek, for the children of Asriel, for the children of Shechem, for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida. These were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph according to their families.
17:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלִצְלׇפְחָד֩ בֶּן ־חֵ֨פֶר בֶּן ־גִּלְעָ֜ד בֶּן ־מָכִ֣יר בֶּן ־מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה לֹא ־הָ֥יוּ ל֛וֹ בָּנִ֖ים כִּ֣י אִם ־בָּנ֑וֹת וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ שְׁמ֣וֹת בְּנֹתָ֔יו מַחְלָ֣ה וְנֹעָ֔ה חׇגְלָ֥ה מִלְכָּ֖ה וְתִרְצָֽה ׃
καὶ τῷ Σαλπααδ υἱῷ Οφερ οὐκ ἦσαν αὐτῷ υἱοὶ ἀλλ’ ἢ θυγατέρες καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν θυγατέρων Σαλπααδ Μααλα καὶ Νουα καὶ Εγλα καὶ Μελχα καὶ Θερσα
Salphaad vero filio Hepher filii Galaad filii Machir filii Manasse non erant filii , sed solae filiae : quarum ista sunt nomina : Maala et Noa et Hegla et Melcha et Thersa .
ወኮነ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ መናሴ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ተርፉ ፡ በበሕዘቢሆሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ኢዬዚ ፡ ወለደቂቀ ፡ ቄሌዚ ፡ ወለደቂቀ ፡ ኢዬሪዬል ፡ ወለደቂቀ ፡ ኢሐኬም ፡ ወለደቂቀ ፡ ዖፌር ፤
But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters. These are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
17:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתִּקְרַ֡בְנָה לִפְנֵי֩ אֶלְעָזָ֨ר הַכֹּהֵ֜ן וְלִפְנֵ֣י ׀ יְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ בִּן ־נ֗וּן וְלִפְנֵ֤י הַנְּשִׂיאִים֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר יְהֹוָה֙ צִוָּ֣ה אֶת ־מֹשֶׁ֔ה לָתֶת ־לָ֥נוּ נַחֲלָ֖ה בְּת֣וֹךְ אַחֵ֑ינוּ וַיִּתֵּ֨ן לָהֶ֜ם אֶל ־פִּ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ נַחֲלָ֔ה בְּת֖וֹךְ אֲחֵ֥י אֲבִיהֶֽן ׃
καὶ ἔστησαν ἐναντίον Ελεαζαρ τοῦ ἱερέως καὶ ἐναντίον Ἰησοῦ καὶ ἐναντίον τῶν ἀρχόντων λέγουσαι ὁ θεὸς ἐνετείλατο διὰ χειρὸς Μωυσῆ δοῦναι ἡμῖν κληρονομίαν ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ἀδελφῶν ἡμῶν καὶ ἐδόθη αὐταῖς διὰ προστάγματος κυρίου κλῆρος ἐν τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν
Veneruntque in conspectu Eleazari sacerdotis , et Josue filii Nun , et principum , dicentes : Dominus praecepit per manum Moysi , ut daretur nobis possessio in medio fratrum nostrorum . Deditque eis juxta imperium Domini possessionem in medio fratrum patris earum .
እሉ ፡ ተባዕቶሙ ፡ በበ ፡ ሕዘቢሆሙ ።
They came to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the princes, saying, “Yahweh commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers.” Therefore according to the commandment of Yahweh he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.
17:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּפְּל֥וּ חַבְלֵֽי ־מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה עֲשָׂרָ֑ה לְבַ֞ד מֵאֶ֤רֶץ הַגִּלְעָד֙ וְהַבָּשָׁ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֖ר מֵעֵ֥בֶר לַיַּרְדֵּֽן ׃
καὶ ἔπεσεν ὁ σχοινισμὸς αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Ανασσα καὶ πεδίον Λαβεκ ἐκ τῆς Γαλααδ ἥ ἐστιν πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου
Et ceciderunt funiculi Manasse , decem , absque terra Galaad et Basan trans Jordanem .
ወሰልጰአድ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ዖፌር ፡ አልቦ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እንበለ ፡ አዋልድ ፡ ወዝንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ አስማቲሆን ፡ ለአዋልደ ፡ ሰልጰአድ ፡ መሐላ ፡ ወኑኃ ፡ ወሔግላ ፡ ወሜልካ ፡ ወቴርሳ ።
Ten parts fell to Manasseh, in addition to the land of Gilead and Bashan, which is beyond the Jordan;
17:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֚י בְּנ֣וֹת מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה נָחֲל֥וּ נַחֲלָ֖ה בְּת֣וֹךְ בָּנָ֑יו וְאֶ֙רֶץ֙ הַגִּלְעָ֔ד הָיְתָ֖ה לִבְנֵי ־מְנַשֶּׁ֥ה הַנּוֹתָרִֽים ׃
ὅτι θυγατέρες υἱῶν Μανασση ἐκληρονόμησαν κλῆρον ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν ἡ δὲ γῆ Γαλααδ ἐγενήθη τοῖς υἱοῖς Μανασση τοῖς καταλελειμμένοις
Filiae enim Manasse possederunt haereditatem in medio filiorum ejus . Terra autem Galaad cecidit in sortem filiorum Manasse qui reliqui erant .
ወቆማ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እልዐዛር ፡ ካህን ፡ ወቅድመ ፡ ኢየሱስ ፡ ወቅድመ ፡ መላእክት ፡ ወይቤላ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አዘዘ ፡ በእደ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ከመ ፡ የሀበነ ፡ ርስተ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ አኀዊነ ፡ ወወሀብዎን ፡ በትእዛዘ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስለ ፡ አኀዊሁ ፡ ለአቡሆን ።
because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons. The land of Gilead belonged to the rest of the sons of Manasseh.
17:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֤י גְבוּל ־מְנַשֶּׁה֙ מֵאָשֵׁ֔ר הַֽמִּכְמְתָ֔ת אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל ־פְּנֵ֣י שְׁכֶ֑ם וְהָלַ֤ךְ הַגְּבוּל֙ אֶל ־הַיָּמִ֔ין אֶל ־יֹשְׁבֵ֖י עֵ֥ין תַּפּֽוּחַ ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ὅρια υἱῶν Μανασση Δηλαναθ ἥ ἐστιν κατὰ πρόσωπον υἱῶν Αναθ καὶ πορεύεται ἐπὶ τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ Ιαμιν καὶ Ιασσιβ ἐπὶ πηγὴν Θαφθωθ
Fuitque terminus Manasse ab Aser , Machmethath quae respicit Sichem : et egreditur ad dexteram juxta habitatores fontis Taphuae .
ወወድቀ ፡ ሐብሎን ፡ እምነ ፡ ሐናስ ፡ ወሐቅለ ፡ ለቤቅ ፡ እምነ ፡ ገላአድ ፡ ዘማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ።
The border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem. The border went along to the right hand, to the inhabitants of En Tappuah.
17:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִמְנַשֶּׁ֕ה הָיְתָ֖ה אֶ֣רֶץ תַּפּ֑וּחַ וְתַפּ֛וּחַ אֶל ־גְּב֥וּל מְנַשֶּׁ֖ה לִבְנֵ֥י אֶפְרָֽיִם ׃
τῷ Μανασση ἔσται καὶ Θαφεθ ἐπὶ τῶν ὁρίων Μανασση τοῖς υἱοῖς Εφραιμ
Etenim in sorte Manasse ceciderat terra Taphuae , quae est juxta terminos Manasse filiorum Ephraim .
እስመ ፡ አዋልደ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ መናሴ ፡ ተወርሳ ፡ ርስተ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ አኀዊሆን ፤ ወምድረ ፡ ገላአድሰ ፡ ኮነት ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ መናሴ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ተርፉ ።
The land of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh; but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim.
17:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיָרַ֣ד הַגְּבוּל֩ נַ֨חַל קָנָ֜ה נֶ֣גְבָּה לַנַּ֗חַל עָרִ֤ים הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם בְּת֖וֹךְ עָרֵ֣י מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה וּגְב֤וּל מְנַשֶּׁה֙ מִצְּפ֣וֹן לַנַּ֔חַל וַיְהִ֥י תֹצְאֹתָ֖יו הַיָּֽמָּה ׃
καὶ καταβήσεται τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ φάραγγα Καρανα ἐπὶ λίβα κατὰ φάραγγα Ιαριηλ τερέμινθος τῷ Εφραιμ ἀνὰ μέσον πόλεως Μανασση καὶ ὅρια Μανασση ἐπὶ τὸν βορρᾶν εἰς τὸν χειμάρρουν καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος θάλασσα
Descenditque terminus vallis arundineti in meridiem torrentis civitatum Ephraim , quae in medio sunt urbium Manasse : terminus Manasse ab aquilone torrentis , et exitus ejus pergit ad mare :
ወኮነ ፡ ደወሎሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ መናሴ ፡ ዴላነት ፡ እንተ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ገጾሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ሐነት ፡ ወየሐውር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ደወሎሙ ፡ ለኢያሚን ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ኢያሲብ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ነቅዐ ፡ ተፍቶት ።
The border went down to the brook of Kanah, southward of the brook. These cities belonged to Ephraim among the cities of Manasseh. The border of Manasseh was on the north side of the brook, and ended at the sea.
17:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ נֶ֣גְבָּה לְאֶפְרַ֗יִם וְצָפ֙וֹנָה֙ לִמְנַשֶּׁ֔ה וַיְהִ֥י הַיָּ֖ם גְּבוּל֑וֹ וּבְאָשֵׁר֙ יִפְגְּע֣וּן מִצָּפ֔וֹן וּבְיִשָּׂשכָ֖ר מִמִּזְרָֽח ׃
ἀπὸ λιβὸς τῷ Εφραιμ καὶ ἐπὶ βορρᾶν Μανασση καὶ ἔσται ἡ θάλασσα ὅρια αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐπὶ Ασηρ συνάψουσιν ἐπὶ βορρᾶν καὶ τῷ Ισσαχαρ ἀπ’ ἀνατολῶν
ita ut possessio Ephraim sit ab austro , et ab aquilone Manasse , et utramque claudat mare , et conjungantur sibi in tribu Aser ab aquilone , et in tribu Issachar ab oriente .
ለመናሴ ፡ ኮነ ፤ ወጣፌት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ደወሎሙ ፡ ለመናሴ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ኤፍሬም ።
Southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea was his border. They reached to Asher on the north, and to Issachar on the east.
17:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֨י לִמְנַשֶּׁ֜ה בְּיִשָּׂשכָ֣ר וּבְאָשֵׁ֗ר בֵּית ־שְׁאָ֣ן וּ֠בְנוֹתֶ֠יהָ וְיִבְלְעָ֨ם וּבְנוֹתֶ֜יהָ וְֽאֶת ־יֹשְׁבֵ֧י דֹ֣אר וּבְנוֹתֶ֗יהָ וְיֹשְׁבֵ֤י עֵֽין ־דֹּר֙ וּבְנוֹתֶ֔יהָ וְיֹשְׁבֵ֤י תַעְנַךְ֙ וּבְנֹתֶ֔יהָ וְיֹשְׁבֵ֥י מְגִדּ֖וֹ וּבְנוֹתֶ֑יהָ שְׁלֹ֖שֶׁת הַנָּֽפֶת ׃
καὶ ἔσται Μανασση ἐν Ισσαχαρ καὶ ἐν Ασηρ Βαιθσαν καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Δωρ καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς καὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Μαγεδδω καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς καὶ τὸ τρίτον τῆς Ναφετα καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς
Fuitque haereditas Manasse in Issachar et in Aser , Bethsan et viculi ejus , et Jeblaam cum viculis suis , et habitatores Dor cum oppidis suis , habitatores quoque Endor cum viculis suis : similiterque habitatores Thenac cum viculis suis , et habitatores Mageddo cum viculis suis , et tertia pars urbis Nopheth .
ወይወርድ ፡ ደወሎሙ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ቈላተ ፡ ቃራና ፡ ዘኀበ ፡ አዜብ ፡ ወዲበ ፡ ቈላተ ፡ ኢያሪዬል ፡ ዎጤሬምንቶን ፡ ዘኤፍሬም ፡ ማእከለ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ መናሴ ፡ ወደወሉሂ ፡ ለመናሴ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ መስዕ ፡ እንተ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ፈለግ ፡ ወኮነ ፡ ሞጻእቱ ፡ ባሕር ፤ እንተ ፡ መንገለ ፡ አዜቡ ፡ ለኤፍሬም ፡ ወእንተ ፡ ኀበ ፡ መስዑ ፡ ለመናሴ ፡ ወባሕር ፡ ወሰኖሙ ፡ [ወበአሴር ፡ ይትራከቡ ፡ በመስዕ ፡ ወበይሳኮር ፡ እምጽባሕ ።] ወይከውን ፡ ለመናሴ ፡ በይሳኮር ፡ ወበአሴር ፡ ወቶሐን ፡ ወአዕጻዳቲሆን ፡ ወእለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዶር ፡ ወአዕጻዳቲሃ ፡ ወእለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ጌዶ ፡ ወአዕጻዳቲሃ ፡ ወሣልስተ ፡ እዴሃ ፡ ለመ [ፌ ]ታ ፡ ወአዕጻዳቲሃ ።
Manasseh had three heights in Issachar, in Asher Beth Shean and its towns, and Ibleam and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns.
17:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹ֤א יָֽכְלוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה לְהוֹרִ֖ישׁ אֶת ־הֶעָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה וַיּ֙וֹאֶל֙ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔י לָשֶׁ֖בֶת בָּאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּֽאת ׃
καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνάσθησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Μανασση ἐξολεθρεῦσαι τὰς πόλεις ταύτας καὶ ἤρχετο ὁ Χαναναῖος κατοικεῖν ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ
Nec potuerunt filii Manasse has civitates subvertere , sed coepit Chananaeus habitare in terra sua .
ወስእኑ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ መናሴ ፡ አጥፍኦቶን ፡ ለእላንቱ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ወመጽኡ ፡ ከናኔዎን ፡ ይንበሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ምድር ።
Yet the children of Manasseh couldn’t drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
17:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֗י כִּ֤י חָֽזְקוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיִּתְּנ֥וּ אֶת ־הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖י לָמַ֑ס וְהוֹרֵ֖שׁ לֹ֥א הֽוֹרִישֽׁוֹ ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐγενήθη καὶ ἐπεὶ κατίσχυσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐποίησαν τοὺς Χαναναίους ὑπηκόους ἐξολεθρεῦσαι δὲ αὐτοὺς οὐκ ἐξωλέθρευσαν
Postquam autem convaluerunt filii Israël , subjecerunt Chananaeos , et fecerunt sibi tributarios , nec interfecerunt eos .
ወጸንዕዎሙ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወቀነይዎሙ ፡ ወአጥፍኦ ፡ ባሕቱ ፡ ኢያጥፍእዎሙ ።
When the children of Israel had grown strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, and didn’t utterly drive them out.
17:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיְדַבְּרוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף אֶת ־יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ לֵאמֹ֑ר מַדּ֩וּעַ֩ נָתַ֨תָּה לִּ֜י נַחֲלָ֗ה גּוֹרָ֤ל אֶחָד֙ וְחֶ֣בֶל אֶחָ֔ד וַאֲנִ֣י עַם ־רָ֔ב עַ֥ד אֲשֶׁר ־עַד ־כֹּ֖ה בֵּרְכַ֥נִי יְהֹוָֽה ׃
ἀντεῖπαν δὲ οἱ υἱοὶ Ιωσηφ τῷ Ἰησοῦ λέγοντες διὰ τί ἐκληρονόμησας ἡμᾶς κλῆρον ἕνα καὶ σχοίνισμα ἕν ἐγὼ δὲ λαὸς πολύς εἰμι καὶ ὁ θεὸς εὐλόγησέν με
Locutique sunt filii Joseph ad Josue , et dixerunt : Quare dedisti mihi possessionem sortis et funiculi unius , cum sim tantae multitudinis , et benedixerit mihi Dominus ?
ወተዋሥእዎ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ [ለኢየሱስ ፡] ወይቤልዎ ፡ በበይነ ፡ ምንት ፡ አውረስከነ ፡ አሐደ ፡ ርስተ ፡ ወአሐደ ፡ ሐብለ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ አነ ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር ፡ ባረከኒ ።
The children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, “Why have you given me just one lot and one part for an inheritance, since we are a numerous people, because Yahweh has blessed us so far?”
17:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם יְהוֹשֻׁ֗עַ אִם ־עַם ־רַ֤ב אַתָּה֙ עֲלֵ֣ה לְךָ֣ הַיַּ֔עְרָה וּבֵרֵאתָ֤ לְךָ֙ שָׁ֔ם בְּאֶ֥רֶץ הַפְּרִזִּ֖י וְהָרְפָאִ֑ים כִּי ־אָ֥ץ לְךָ֖ הַר ־אֶפְרָֽיִם ׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ἰησοῦς εἰ λαὸς πολὺς εἶ ἀνάβηθι εἰς τὸν δρυμὸν καὶ ἐκκάθαρον σεαυτῷ εἰ στενοχωρεῖ σε τὸ ὄρος τὸ Εφραιμ
Ad quos Josue ait : Si populus multus es , ascende in silvam , et succide tibi spatia in terra Pherezaei et Raphaim : quia angusta est tibi possessio montis Ephraim .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ዕረጉ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኦም ፡ ወአንጽሕዎ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ እመ ፡ ይጸብበክሙ ፡ ደብረ ፡ ኤፍሬም ።
Joshua said to them, “If you are a numerous people, go up to the forest, and clear land for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the Rephaim, since the hill country of Ephraim is too narrow for you.”
17:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יוֹסֵ֔ף לֹא ־יִמָּ֥צֵא לָ֖נוּ הָהָ֑ר וְרֶ֣כֶב בַּרְזֶ֗ל בְּכׇל ־הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ הַיֹּשֵׁ֣ב בְּאֶרֶץ ־הָעֵ֔מֶק לַאֲשֶׁ֤ר בְּבֵית ־שְׁאָן֙ וּבְנוֹתֶ֔יהָ וְלַאֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּעֵ֥מֶק יִזְרְעֶֽאל ׃
καὶ εἶπαν οὐκ ἀρκέσει ἡμῖν τὸ ὄρος τὸ Εφραιμ καὶ ἵππος ἐπίλεκτος καὶ σίδηρος τῷ Χαναναίῳ τῷ κατοικοῦντι ἐν αὐτῷ ἐν Βαιθσαν καὶ ἐν ταῖς κώμαις αὐτῆς ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι Ιεζραελ
Cui responderunt filii Joseph : Non poterimus ad montana conscendere , cum ferreis curribus utantur Chananaei , qui habitant in terra campestri , in qua sitae sunt Bethsan cum viculis suis , et Jezraël mediam possidens vallem .
ወይቤሉ ፡ ኢየአክለነ ፡ ደብረ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ወከናኔዎን ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስቴቱ ፡ ቦሙ ፡ አፍራሰ ፡ ኅሩየ ፡ ወኀፂነ ፡ በቤቴስ ፡ ወበአዕጻዲሃ ፡ በቈላተ ፡ [ኢይዝ ]ራኤል ።
The children of Joseph said, “The hill country is not enough for us. All the Canaanites who dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both those who are in Beth Shean and its towns, and those who are in the valley of Jezreel.”
17:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ אֶל ־בֵּ֣ית יוֹסֵ֔ף לְאֶפְרַ֥יִם וְלִמְנַשֶּׁ֖ה לֵאמֹ֑ר עַם ־רַ֣ב אַתָּ֗ה וְכֹ֤חַ גָּדוֹל֙ לָ֔ךְ לֹֽא ־יִֽהְיֶ֥ה לְךָ֖ גּוֹרָ֥ל אֶחָֽד ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ἰησοῦς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ιωσηφ εἰ λαὸς πολὺς εἶ καὶ ἰσχὺν μεγάλην ἔχεις οὐκ ἔσται σοι κλῆρος εἷς
Dixitque Josue ad domum Joseph , Ephraim et Manasse : Populus multus es , et magnae fortitudinis : non habebis sortem unam ,
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ኢየሱስ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ እመ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ አንተ ፡ ወብከ ፡ ዐቢየ ፡ ኀይለ ፡ ኢይከውነከ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ ርስት ።
Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, that is, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, “You are a numerous people, and have great power. You shall not have one lot only;
17:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י הַ֤ר יִֽהְיֶה ־לָּךְ֙ כִּֽי ־יַ֣עַר ה֔וּא וּבֵ֣רֵאת֔וֹ וְהָיָ֥ה לְךָ֖ תֹּצְאֹתָ֑יו כִּֽי ־תוֹרִ֣ישׁ אֶת ־הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֗י כִּ֣י רֶ֤כֶב בַּרְזֶל֙ ל֔וֹ כִּ֥י חָזָ֖ק הֽוּא ׃ {פ}
ὁ γὰρ δρυμὸς ἔσται σοι ὅτι δρυμός ἐστιν καὶ ἐκκαθαριεῖς αὐτὸν καὶ ἔσται σοι καὶ ὅταν ἐξολεθρεύσῃς τὸν Χαναναῖον ὅτι ἵππος ἐπίλεκτός ἐστιν αὐτῷ σὺ γὰρ ὑπερισχύεις αὐτοῦ
sed transibis ad montem , et succides tibi , atque purgabis ad habitandum spatia : et poteris ultra procedere cum subverteris Chananaeum , quem dicis ferreos habere currus , et esse fortissimum .
እስመ ፡ ሐቅል ፡ ለከ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እስመ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወታነጽሖ ፡ ለከ ፡ ወይከውነከ ፡ እስከ ፡ ታጠፍኦሙ ፡ ለከናኔዎን ፡ እስመ ፡ አፍራሰ ፡ ኅሩየ ፡ ቦሙ ፡ ወለሊከ ፡ አጽናዕካሆሙ ።
but the hill country shall be yours. Although it is a forest, you shall cut it down, and it’s farthest extent shall be yours; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”
