1:1
וַֽיְהִ֗י אַחֲרֵ֛י מ֥וֹת מֹשֶׁ֖ה עֶ֣בֶד יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ בִּן־נ֔וּן מְשָׁרֵ֥ת מֹשֶׁ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃
καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὴν τελευτὴν Μωυσῆ εἶπεν κύριος τῷ Ἰησοῖ υἱῷ Ναυη τῷ ὑπουργῷ Μωυσῆ λέγων
Et factum est post mortem Moysi servi Domini, ut loqueretur Dominus ad Josue filium Nun, ministrum Moysi, et diceret ei :
(ኦሪት ፡ ዘኢየሱስ ።)ወኮነ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ገብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ተናገሮ ፡ ለኢየሱስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ነዌ ፡ ለላእኩ ፡ ለሙሴ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፤
Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying,
1:2
מֹשֶׁ֥ה עַבְדִּ֖י מֵ֑ת וְעַתָּה֩ ק֨וּם עֲבֹ֜ר אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֣ן הַזֶּ֗ה אַתָּה֙ וְכׇל־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה אֶל־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָנֹכִ֛י נֹתֵ֥ן לָהֶ֖ם לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Μωυσῆς ὁ θεράπων μου τετελεύτηκεν νῦν οὖν ἀναστὰς διάβηθι τὸν Ιορδάνην σὺ καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς οὗτος εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ἐγὼ δίδωμι αὐτοῖς
Moyses servus meus mortuus est : surge, et transi Jordanem istum tu, et omnis populus tecum, in terram quam ego dabo filiis Israël.
ናሁ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ቍልዔየ ፡ ወይእዜኒ ፡ ተንሥእ ፡ ወዕድዎ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ አንተ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ እሁበክሙ ፡ አነ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ።
“Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel.
1:3
כׇּל־מָק֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּדְרֹ֧ךְ כַּֽף־רַגְלְכֶ֛ם בּ֖וֹ לָכֶ֣ם נְתַתִּ֑יו כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי אֶל־מֹשֶֽׁה׃
πᾶς ὁ τόπος ἐφ’ ὃν ἂν ἐπιβῆτε τῷ ἴχνει τῶν ποδῶν ὑμῶν ὑμῖν δώσω αὐτόν ὃν τρόπον εἴρηκα τῷ Μωυσῇ
Omnem locum, quem calcaverit vestigium pedis vestri, vobis tradam, sicut locutus sum Moysi.
ኵሎ ፡ መካነ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኬደት ፡ እግርክሙ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ እሁበክሙዎ ፡ በከመ ፡ እቤሎ ፡ ለሙሴ ፤
I have given you every place that the sole of your foot will tread on, as I told Moses.
1:4
מֵהַמִּדְבָּר֩ וְהַלְּבָנ֨וֹן הַזֶּ֜ה וְֽעַד־הַנָּהָ֧ר הַגָּד֣וֹל נְהַר־פְּרָ֗ת כֹּ֚ל אֶ֣רֶץ הַֽחִתִּ֔ים וְעַד־הַיָּ֥ם הַגָּד֖וֹל מְב֣וֹא הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ יִֽהְיֶ֖ה גְּבוּלְכֶֽם׃
τὴν ἔρημον καὶ τὸν Ἀντιλίβανον ἕως τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ μεγάλου ποταμοῦ Εὐφράτου καὶ ἕως τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς ἐσχάτης ἀφ’ ἡλίου δυσμῶν ἔσται τὰ ὅρια ὑμῶν
A deserto et Libano usque ad fluvium magnum Euphraten, omnis terra Hethaeorum usque ad mare magnum contra solis occasum erit terminus vester.
እምነ ፡ ገዳም ፡ [ወ]አንጢሊባኖን ፡ እስከ ፡ ፈለግ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ፈለገ ፡ [ኤ]ፍራጥስ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ምድሮ ፡ ለኬጥያዊ ፡ ወእስከ ፡ ደኃሪት ፡ ባሕር ፡ ወእምነ ፡ ምዕራበ ፡ ፀሐይ ፡ ይኩንክሙ ፡ ደወልክሙ ።
From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.
1:5
לֹא־יִתְיַצֵּ֥ב אִישׁ֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣י חַיֶּ֑יךָ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיִ֤יתִי עִם־מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶהְיֶ֣ה עִמָּ֔ךְ לֹ֥א אַרְפְּךָ֖ וְלֹ֥א אֶעֶזְבֶֽךָּ׃
οὐκ ἀντιστήσεται ἄνθρωπος κατενώπιον ὑμῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς σου καὶ ὥσπερ ἤμην μετὰ Μωυσῆ οὕτως ἔσομαι καὶ μετὰ σοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψω σε οὐδὲ ὑπερόψομαί σε
Nullus poterit vobis resistere cunctis diebus vitae tuae : sicut fui cum Moyse, ita ero tecum : non dimittam, nec derelinquam te.
ወአልቦ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ዘይትቃወም ፡ ቅድሜክሙ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ሕይወትከ ፡ ወበከመ ፡ ሀለውኩ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ እሄሉ ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ ወኢየኀድገከ ፡ ወኢይትዔወረከ ።
No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.
1:6
חֲזַ֖ק וֶאֱמָ֑ץ כִּ֣י אַתָּ֗ה תַּנְחִיל֙ אֶת־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה אֶת־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּ֥עְתִּי לַאֲבוֹתָ֖ם לָתֵ֥ת לָהֶֽם׃
ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου σὺ γὰρ ἀποδιαστελεῖς τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν δοῦναι αὐτοῖς
Confortare, et esto robustus : tu enim sorte divides populo huic terram, pro qua juravi patribus suis, ut traderem eam illis.
ጽናዕ ፡ ወትባዕ ፡ እስመ ፡ [አንተ ፡] ትከፍሎሙ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ምድረ ፡ እንተ ፡ መሐልኩ ፡ ለአበዊሆሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ አሀቦሙ ።
“Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
1:7
רַק֩ חֲזַ֨ק וֶאֱמַ֜ץ מְאֹ֗ד לִשְׁמֹ֤ר לַֽעֲשׂוֹת֙ כְּכׇל־הַתּוֹרָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר צִוְּךָ֙ מֹשֶׁ֣ה עַבְדִּ֔י אַל־תָּס֥וּר מִמֶּ֖נּוּ יָמִ֣ין וּשְׂמֹ֑אול לְמַ֣עַן תַּשְׂכִּ֔יל בְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר תֵּלֵֽךְ׃
ἴσχυε οὖν καὶ ἀνδρίζου φυλάσσεσθαι καὶ ποιεῖν καθότι ἐνετείλατό σοι Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς μου καὶ οὐκ ἐκκλινεῖς ἀπ’ αὐτῶν εἰς δεξιὰ οὐδὲ εἰς ἀριστερά ἵνα συνῇς ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐὰν πράσσῃς
Confortare igitur, et esto robustus valde, ut custodias, et facias omnem legem, quam praecepit tibi Moyses servus meus : ne declines ab ea ad dexteram vel ad sinistram, ut intelligas cuncta quae agis.
ወባሕቱ ፡ ጽናዕ ፡ ወትባዕ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትዕቀብ ፡ ወትግበር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ሕገ ፡ ዘከመ ፡ አዘዘከ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ቍልዔየ ፡ ወኢትትገሐሥ ፡ እምኔሁ ፡ ኢለየማን ፡ ወኢለፀጋም ፡ ከመ ፡ ታእምር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ተሐውር ።
Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.
1:8
לֹֽא־יָמ֡וּשׁ סֵ֩פֶר֩ הַתּוֹרָ֨ה הַזֶּ֜ה מִפִּ֗יךָ וְהָגִ֤יתָ בּוֹ֙ יוֹמָ֣ם וָלַ֔יְלָה לְמַ֙עַן֙ תִּשְׁמֹ֣ר לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת כְּכׇל־הַכָּת֖וּב בּ֑וֹ כִּי־אָ֛ז תַּצְלִ֥יחַ אֶת־דְּרָכֶ֖ךָ וְאָ֥ז תַּשְׂכִּֽיל׃
καὶ οὐκ ἀποστήσεται ἡ βίβλος τοῦ νόμου τούτου ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου καὶ μελετήσεις ἐν αὐτῷ ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός ἵνα συνῇς ποιεῖν πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα τότε εὐοδωθήσῃ καὶ εὐοδώσεις τὰς ὁδούς σου καὶ τότε συνήσεις
Non recedat volumen legis hujus ab ore tuo : sed meditaberis in eo diebus ac noctibus, ut custodias et facias omnia quae scripta sunt in eo : tunc diriges viam tuam, et intelliges eam.
ወኢትትኀደግ ፡ መጽሐፉ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ [ሕግ ፡] እምነ ፡ አፉከ ፡ ወአንብብ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ መዐልተ ፡ ወሌሊተ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታእምር ፡ ገቢረ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘጽሑፍ ፡ ውስቴቱ ፡ እስመ ፡ ትረትዕ ፡ ፍኖትከ ፡ ወቦቱ ፡ ትጠብብ ።
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.
1:9
הֲל֤וֹא צִוִּיתִ֙יךָ֙ חֲזַ֣ק וֶאֱמָ֔ץ אַֽל־תַּעֲרֹ֖ץ וְאַל־תֵּחָ֑ת כִּ֤י עִמְּךָ֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ בְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר תֵּלֵֽךְ׃ {פ}
ἰδοὺ ἐντέταλμαί σοι ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου μὴ δειλιάσῃς μηδὲ φοβηθῇς ὅτι μετὰ σοῦ κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς πάντα οὗ ἐὰν πορεύῃ
Ecce praecipio tibi : confortare, et esto robustus. Noli metuere, et noli timere : quoniam tecum est Dominus Deus tuus in omnibus ad quaecumque perrexeris.
ወናሁ ፡ እኤዝዘከ ፡ ትባዕ ፡ ወጽናዕ ፡ ወኢትፍራህ ፡ ወኢትደንግፅ ፡ እስመ ፡ ሀለወ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘሖርከ ።
Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go.”
1:10
וַיְצַ֣ו יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ אֶת־שֹׁטְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם לֵאמֹֽר׃
καὶ ἐνετείλατο Ἰησοῦς τοῖς γραμματεῦσιν τοῦ λαοῦ λέγων
Praecepitque Josue principibus populi, dicens : Transite per medium castrorum, et imperate populo, ac dicite :
ወአዘዞሙ ፡ ኢየሱስ ፡ ለጸሐፍተ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ወይቤሎሙ ፤
Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

עִבְר֣וּ׀ בְּקֶ֣רֶב הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֗ה וְצַוּ֤וּ אֶת־הָעָם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הָכִ֥ינוּ לָכֶ֖ם צֵידָ֑ה כִּ֞י בְּע֣וֹד׀ שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֗ים אַתֶּם֙ עֹֽבְרִים֙ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֣ן הַזֶּ֔ה לָבוֹא֙ לָרֶ֣שֶׁת אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם נֹתֵ֥ן לָכֶ֖ם לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃ {פ}
εἰσέλθατε κατὰ μέσον τῆς παρεμβολῆς τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ἐντείλασθε τῷ λαῷ λέγοντες ἑτοιμάζεσθε ἐπισιτισμόν ὅτι ἔτι τρεῖς ἡμέραι καὶ ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ιορδάνην τοῦτον εἰσελθόντες κατασχεῖν τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν δίδωσιν ὑμῖν
Praeparate vobis cibaria : quoniam post diem tertium transibitis Jordanem, et intrabitis ad possidendam terram quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est vobis.
ባኡ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ትዕይንት ፡ ወአዝዝዎሙ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ወበልዎሙ ፡ አስተዳልው ፡ ለክሙ ፡ ሥንቀ ፡ እስመ ፡ እስከ ፡ ሠሉስ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ተዐድውዎ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ወትበውኡ ፡ ትርከቡ ፡ ምድረ ፡ እንተ ፡ ይሁበክሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ አበዊክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትትወረስዋ ።
“Pass through the middle of the camp, and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare food; for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which Yahweh your God gives you to possess.’”
1:12
וְלָרֽאוּבֵנִי֙ וְלַגָּדִ֔י וְלַחֲצִ֖י שֵׁ֣בֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֑ה אָמַ֥ר יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ לֵאמֹֽר׃
καὶ τῷ Ρουβην καὶ τῷ Γαδ καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασση εἶπεν Ἰησοῦς
Rubenitis quoque et Gaditis, et dimidiae tribui Manasse, ait :
ወለሮቤልሂ ፡ ወለጋድሂ ፡ ወለመንፈቀ ፡ ነገደ ፡ መናሴሂ ፡ ይቤሎሙ ፡ ኢየሱስ ፤
Joshua spoke to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, saying,

זָכוֹר֙ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֥ה אֶתְכֶ֛ם מֹשֶׁ֥ה עֶבֶד־יְהֹוָ֖ה לֵאמֹ֑ר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ מֵנִ֣יחַ לָכֶ֔ם וְנָתַ֥ן לָכֶ֖ם אֶת־הָאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּֽאת׃
μνήσθητε τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου ὃ ἐνετείλατο ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς κυρίου λέγων κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν κατέπαυσεν ὑμᾶς καὶ ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν τὴν γῆν ταύτην
Mementote sermonis, quem praecepit vobis Moyses famulus Domini, dicens : Dominus Deus vester dedit vobis requiem, et omnem terram.
ተዘከሩ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ዘአዘዘክሙ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ቍልዔሁ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይቤለክሙ ፡ ናሁ ፡ አዕረፈክሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለክሙ ፡ ወወሀበክሙ ፡ ዛተ ፡ ምድረ ።
“Remember the word which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, saying, ‘Yahweh your God gives you rest, and will give you this land.
1:14
נְשֵׁיכֶ֣ם טַפְּכֶם֮ וּמִקְנֵיכֶם֒ יֵשְׁב֕וּ בָּאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֥ן לָכֶ֛ם מֹשֶׁ֖ה בְּעֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְאַתֶּם֩ תַּעַבְר֨וּ חֲמֻשִׁ֜ים לִפְנֵ֣י אֲחֵיכֶ֗ם כֹּ֚ל גִּבּוֹרֵ֣י הַחַ֔יִל וַעֲזַרְתֶּ֖ם אוֹתָֽם׃
αἱ γυναῖκες ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ παιδία ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ κτήνη ὑμῶν κατοικείτωσαν ἐν τῇ γῇ ᾗ ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν ὑμεῖς δὲ διαβήσεσθε εὔζωνοι πρότεροι τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν πᾶς ὁ ἰσχύων καὶ συμμαχήσετε αὐτοῖς
Uxores vestrae, et filii, ac jumenta manebunt in terra, quam tradidit vobis Moyses trans Jordanem : vos autem transite armati ante fratres vestros, omnes fortes manu, et pugnate pro eis,
ለይንበራ ፡ አንስቲያክሙ ፡ ወደቂቅክሙ ፡ ወእንስሳክሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ወሀበክሙ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ በማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ወአንትሙሰ ፡ ዕድው ፡ ቅኑታኒክሙ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ አኀዊክሙ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ጽኑዓኒክሙ ፡ ወተቃተሉ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፤
Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall live in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan; but you shall pass over before your brothers armed, all the mighty men of valor, and shall help them
1:15
עַ֠ד אֲשֶׁר־יָנִ֨יחַ יְהֹוָ֥ה׀לַאֲחֵיכֶם֮ כָּכֶם֒ וְיָרְשׁ֣וּ גַם־הֵ֔מָּה אֶת־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם נֹתֵ֣ן לָהֶ֑ם וְשַׁבְתֶּ֞ם לְאֶ֤רֶץ יְרֻשַּׁתְכֶם֙ וִירִשְׁתֶּ֣ם אוֹתָ֔הּ אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ נָתַ֣ן לָכֶ֗ם מֹשֶׁה֙ עֶ֣בֶד יְהֹוָ֔ה בְּעֵ֥בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן מִזְרַ֥ח הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃
ἕως ἂν καταπαύσῃ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν ὥσπερ καὶ ὑμᾶς καὶ κληρονομήσωσιν καὶ οὗτοι τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἀπελεύσεσθε ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ ἣν δέδωκεν ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς εἰς τὸ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἀπ’ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου
donec det Dominus requiem fratribus vestris sicut et vobis dedit, et possideant ipsi quoque terram quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est eis : et sic revertimini in terram possessionis vestrae, et habitabitis in ea, quam vobis dedit Moyses famulus Domini trans Jordanem contra solis ortum.
እስከ ፡ አመ ፡ ያዐርፎሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፡ ለአኀዊክሙ ፡ ከማክሙ ፡ ወይወርሱ ፡ እሙንቱኒ ፡ ምድሮሙ ፡ እንተ ፡ ይሁቦሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፡ ወተአትው ፡ እንከ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ እምኔክሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ርስቱ ፡ ወተዋረስዋ ፡ አንትሙኒ ፡ ለዛቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ወሀበክሙ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ቍልዔሁ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ በመንገለ ፡ ምሥራቀ ፡ ፀሐይ ።
until Yahweh has given your brothers rest, as he has given you, and they have also possessed the land which Yahweh your God gives them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and possess it, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.’”
1:16
וַֽיַּעֲנ֔וּ אֶת־יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ לֵאמֹ֑ר כֹּ֤ל אֲשֶׁר־צִוִּיתָ֙נוּ֙ נַעֲשֶׂ֔ה וְאֶֽל־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר תִּשְׁלָחֵ֖נוּ נֵלֵֽךְ׃
καὶ ἀποκριθέντες τῷ Ἰησοῖ εἶπαν πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλῃ ἡμῖν ποιήσομεν καὶ εἰς πάντα τόπον οὗ ἐὰν ἀποστείλῃς ἡμᾶς πορευσόμεθα
Responderuntque ad Josue, atque dixerunt : Omnia quae praecepisti nobis, faciemus : et quocumque miseris, ibimus.
ወአውሥእዎ ፡ ለኢየሱስ ፡ ወይቤልዎ ፡ ንገብር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘአዘዝከነ ፡ ወነሐውር ፡ መካነ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ፈነውከነ ።
They answered Joshua, saying, “All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.
1:17
כְּכֹ֤ל אֲשֶׁר־שָׁמַ֙עְנוּ֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה כֵּ֖ן נִשְׁמַ֣ע אֵלֶ֑יךָ רַ֠ק יִֽהְיֶ֞ה יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה עִם־מֹשֶֽׁה׃
κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἠκούσαμεν Μωυσῆ ἀκουσόμεθα σοῦ πλὴν ἔστω κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν μετὰ σοῦ ὃν τρόπον ἦν μετὰ Μωυσῆ
Sicut obedivimus in cunctis Moysi, ita obediemus et tibi : tantum sit Dominus Deus tuus tecum, sicut fuit cum Moyse.
ወበከመ ፡ ተአዘዝነ ፡ ለሙሴ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ ንትኤዘዝ ፡ ለከሂ ፡ ወባሕቱ ፡ ምስሌከሂ ፡ ለየሀሉ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በከመ ፡ ሀለወ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሙሴ ።
Just as we listened to Moses in all things, so will we listen to you. Only may Yahweh your God be with you, as he was with Moses.
1:18
כׇּל־אִ֞ישׁ אֲשֶׁר־יַמְרֶ֣ה אֶת־פִּ֗יךָ וְלֹֽא־יִשְׁמַ֧ע אֶת־דְּבָרֶ֛יךָ לְכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־תְּצַוֶּ֖נּוּ יוּמָ֑ת רַ֖ק חֲזַ֥ק וֶאֱמָֽץ׃ {פ}
ὁ δὲ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἐὰν ἀπειθήσῃ σοι καὶ ὅστις μὴ ἀκούσῃ τῶν ῥημάτων σου καθότι ἂν αὐτῷ ἐντείλῃ ἀποθανέτω ἀλλὰ ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου
Qui contradixerit ori tuo, et non obedierit cunctis sermonibus, quos praeceperis ei, moriatur. Tu tantum confortare, et viriliter age.
ወብእሲ ፡ ዘኢተአዘዘ ፡ ለከ ፡ ወዘክሕደከ ፡ ወኢሰምዐ ፡ ቃለከ ፡ ዘአዘዝካሁ ፡ ለይሙት ፡ ወይእዜኒ ፡ ጽናዕ ፡ ወትባዕ ።
Whoever rebels against your commandment, and doesn’t listen to your words in all that you command him shall himself be put to death. Only be strong and courageous.”
