37:1
אַף־לְ֭זֹאת יֶחֱרַ֣ד לִבִּ֑י וְ֝יִתַּ֗ר מִמְּקוֹמֽוֹ׃
καὶ ταύτης ἐταράχθη ἡ καρδία μου καὶ ἀπερρύη ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτῆς
Super hoc expavit cor meum, et emotum est de loco suo.
ወበእንተዝ፡ ደንገፀተኒ፡ ልብየ፡ ወወድቀት፡ እመካና።
“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.
37:2
שִׁמְע֤וּ שָׁמ֣וֹעַ בְּרֹ֣גֶז קֹל֑וֹ וְ֝הֶ֗גֶה מִפִּ֥יו יֵצֵֽא׃
ἄκουε ἀκοὴν ἐν ὀργῇ θυμοῦ κυρίου καὶ μελέτη ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσεται
Audite auditionem in terrore vocis ejus, et sonum de ore illius procedentem.
ስማዕኬ፡ ድምፀ፡ መቅሠፍት፡ መዓቱ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወዘይወጽእ፡ ነገረ፡ እምአፉሁ።
Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.
37:3
תַּֽחַת־כׇּל־הַשָּׁמַ֥יִם יִשְׁרֵ֑הוּ וְ֝אוֹר֗וֹ עַל־כַּנְפ֥וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃
ὑποκάτω παντὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἀρχὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ φῶς αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πτερύγων τῆς γῆς
Subter omnes caelos ipse considerat, et lumen illius super terminos terrae.
ይዌርዎ፡ ታሕተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሰማያት፡ ወብርሃኑ፡ ዲበ፡ ከንፈረ፡ ምድር።
He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
37:4
אַחֲרָ֤יו׀ יִשְׁאַג־ק֗וֹל יַ֭רְעֵם בְּק֣וֹל גְּאוֹנ֑וֹ וְלֹ֥א יְ֝עַקְּבֵ֗ם כִּֽי־יִשָּׁמַ֥ע קוֹלֽוֹ׃
ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ βοήσεται φωνή βροντήσει ἐν φωνῇ ὕβρεως αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀνταλλάξει αὐτούς ὅτι ἀκούσει φωνὴν αὐτοῦ
Post eum rugiet sonitus ; tonabit voce magnitudinis suae : et non investigabitur, cum audita fuerit vox ejus.
ወበድኅሬሁ፡ ቃለ፡ ይቀጽእ፡ ወያንጐደጕድ፡ በቃለ፡ መዓቱ፡ ወይሣሃሎሙ፡ እንዘ፡ ይሰምዕ፡ ቃሎሙ።
After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.
37:5
יַרְעֵ֤ם אֵ֣ל בְּ֭קוֹלוֹ נִפְלָא֑וֹת עֹשֶׂ֥ה גְ֝דֹל֗וֹת וְלֹ֣א נֵדָֽע׃
βροντήσει ὁ ἰσχυρὸς ἐν φωνῇ αὐτοῦ θαυμάσια ἐποίησεν γὰρ μεγάλα ἃ οὐκ ᾔδειμεν
Tonabit Deus in voce sua mirabiliter, qui facit magna et inscrutabilia ;
ወያንጐደጕድ፡ በፀዓዕ፡ መደንግፅ፡ ወይሬሲ፡ ለእንስሳ፡ በበጊዜሁ፡ ወየአምር፡ ጊዜ፡ ይሰክቡ፡ ወበዝ፡ ኵሉ፡ ኢይደንግፅከ፡ ልብከ፡ ወኢይትወለጥ፡ ልብከ፡ እምነ፡ ሥጋሁ፡ ወገብረ፡ ዓቢያተ፡ ዘኢነአምር።
God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.
37:6
כִּ֤י לַשֶּׁ֨לֶג׀ יֹאמַ֗ר הֱוֵ֫א־אָ֥רֶץ וְגֶ֥שֶׁם מָטָ֑ר וְ֝גֶ֗שֶׁם מִטְר֥וֹת עֻזּֽוֹ׃
συντάσσων χιόνι γίνου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ χειμὼν ὑετός καὶ χειμὼν ὑετῶν δυναστείας αὐτοῦ
qui praecipit nivi ut descendat in terram, et hiemis pluviis, et imbri fortitudinis suae ;
ወይኤዝዝ፡ በረደ፡ ይረድ፡ ዲበ፡ ምድር፡ ወዝናመ፡ ክረምት፡ በኃይሉ።
For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.
37:7
בְּיַד־כׇּל־אָדָ֥ם יַחְתּ֑וֹם לָ֝דַ֗עַת כׇּל־אַנְשֵׁ֥י מַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃
ἐν χειρὶ παντὸς ἀνθρώπου κατασφραγίζει ἵνα γνῷ πᾶς ἄνθρωπος τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ἀσθένειαν
qui in manu omnium hominum signat, ut noverint singuli opera sua.
ወየዓቅብ፡ እደ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሰብእ፡ ከመ፡ ያእምር፡ ኵሉ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ ድካሞ።
He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.
37:8
וַתָּב֣וֹא חַיָּ֣ה בְמוֹ־אָ֑רֶב וּבִמְע֖וֹנֹתֶ֣יהָ תִשְׁכֹּֽן׃
εἰσῆλθεν δὲ θηρία ὑπὸ σκέπην ἡσύχασαν δὲ ἐπὶ κοίτης
Ingredietur bestia latibulum, et in antro suo morabitur.
ወቦኡ፡ አራዊት፡ ታሕተ፡ ጠፈር፡ ወአዕረፉ፡ ውስተ፡ ምስካቦሙ።
Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.
37:9
מִן־הַ֭חֶדֶר תָּב֣וֹא סוּפָ֑ה וּֽמִמְּזָרִ֥ים קָרָֽה׃
ἐκ ταμιείων ἐπέρχονται δῖναι ἀπὸ δὲ ἀκρωτηρίων ψῦχος
Ab interioribus egredietur tempestas, et ab Arcturo frigus.
ወእምረኀብ፡ ይመጽኦሙ፡ ሕማም፡ ወባማኅደሪሆሙ፡ ይቈርሩ።
Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.
37:10
מִנִּשְׁמַת־אֵ֥ל יִתֶּן־קָ֑רַח וְרֹ֖חַב מַ֣יִם בְּמוּצָֽק׃
καὶ ἀπὸ πνοῆς ἰσχυροῦ δώσει πάγος οἰακίζει δὲ τὸ ὕδωρ ὡς ἐὰν βούληται
Flante Deo, concrescit gelu, et rursum latissimae funduntur aquae.
ወእምነፋሰ፡ ኃያል፡ ይመጽእ፡ አስሐትያ፡ ወይከፍሎ፡ ለማይ፡ ዘከመ፡ ፈቀደ።
By the breath of God, ice is given, and the width of the waters is frozen.
37:11
אַף־בְּ֭רִי יַטְרִ֣יחַ עָ֑ב יָ֝פִ֗יץ עֲנַ֣ן אוֹרֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἐκλεκτὸν καταπλάσσει νεφέλη διασκορπιεῖ νέφος φῶς αὐτοῦ
Frumentum desiderat nubes, et nubes spargunt lumen suum.
ወይሤውር፡ ኅሩያነ፡ በደመና፡ ወይዘርዎ፡ ለደመና፡ በብርሃኑ፡ ወውእቱ፡ ይመይጦ፡ በዓውዱ፡ አሐዱ፡ ምክሩ፡ በምግባሩ፡ በኵሉ፡ ዘአዘዞሙ፡ ከመዝ፡ ሥርዓት፡ ዘእምኀቤሁ፡ በዲበ፡ ምድር።
Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
37:12
וְה֤וּא מְסִבּ֨וֹת׀ מִתְהַפֵּ֣ךְ בְּתַחְבּוּלֹתָ֣ו לְפׇעֳלָ֑ם כֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְצַוֵּ֓ם׀ עַל־פְּנֵ֖י תֵבֵ֣ל אָֽרְצָה׃
καὶ αὐτὸς κυκλώματα διαστρέψει ἐν θεεβουλαθω εἰς ἔργα αὐτῶν πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείληται αὐτοῖς ταῦτα συντέτακται παρ’ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
Quae lustrant per circuitum, quocumque eas voluntas gubernantis duxerit, ad omne quod praeceperit illis super faciem orbis terrarum :
እመሂ፡ ለዘውስተ፡ ገዳም፡ ወለዘሂ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ወለዘሂ፡ በሠናይ፡ ይረክቦ።
It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,
37:13
אִם־לְשֵׁ֥בֶט אִם־לְאַרְצ֑וֹ אִם־לְ֝חֶ֗סֶד יַמְצִאֵֽהוּ׃
ἐὰν εἰς παιδείαν ἐὰν εἰς τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ ἐὰν εἰς ἔλεος εὑρήσει αὐτόν
sive in una tribu, sive in terra sua, sive in quocumque loco misericordiae suae eas jusserit inveniri.
አጽምእ፡ ኢዮብ፡ ዘንተ፡ ወተገሠፅ፡ ወቁም፡ በኃይለ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.
37:14
הַאֲזִ֣ינָה זֹּ֣את אִיּ֑וֹב עֲ֝מֹ֗ד וְהִתְבּוֹנֵ֤ן׀ נִפְלְא֬וֹת אֵֽל׃
ἐνωτίζου ταῦτα Ιωβ στῆθι νουθετοῦ δύναμιν κυρίου
Ausculta haec, Job : sta, et considera mirabilia Dei.
ነአምር፡ ከመ፡ ሠርዐ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ተግባሮ፡ ወገብረ፡ ብርሃነ፡ እምጽልመት።
“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
37:15
הֲ֭תֵדַע בְּשׂוּם־אֱל֣וֹהַּ עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וְ֝הֹפִ֗יעַ א֣וֹר עֲנָנֽוֹ׃
οἴδαμεν ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ἔθετο ἔργα αὐτοῦ φῶς ποιήσας ἐκ σκότους
Numquid scis quando praeceperit Deus pluviis, ut ostenderent lucem nubium ejus ?
ቦኑ፡ ተአምር፡ ፈሊጦቶ፡ ለደመና፡ ግሩም፡ ድቀቶሙ፡ ለኃጥአን።
Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?
37:16
הֲ֭תֵדַע עַל־מִפְלְשֵׂי־עָ֑ב מִ֝פְלְא֗וֹת תְּמִ֣ים דֵּעִֽים׃
ἐπίσταται δὲ διάκρισιν νεφῶν ἐξαίσια δὲ πτώματα πονηρῶν
Numquid nosti semitas nubium magnas, et perfectas scientias ?
ወለከሰ፡ ምውቅ፡ አልባሲከ፡ ወአርምም፡ እንከ፡ በዲበ፡ ምድር።
Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?
37:17
אֲשֶׁר־בְּגָדֶ֥יךָ חַמִּ֑ים בְּהַשְׁקִ֥ט אֶ֝֗רֶץ מִדָּרֽוֹם׃
σοῦ δὲ ἡ στολὴ θερμή ἡσυχάζεται δὲ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
Nonne vestimenta tua calida sunt, cum perflata fuerit terra austro ?
ወእምአዜብኑ፡ ታጸንዕ፡ ተጋድሎ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ግሩም፡ ራእዩ፡ በዲበ፡ ብዙኃን።
You whose clothing is warm when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?
37:18
תַּרְקִ֣יעַ עִ֭מּוֹ לִשְׁחָקִ֑ים חֲ֝זָקִ֗ים כִּרְאִ֥י מוּצָֽק׃
στερεώσεις μετ’ αὐτοῦ εἰς παλαιώματα ἰσχυραὶ ὡς ὅρασις ἐπιχύσεως
Tu forsitan cum eo fabricatus es caelos, qui solidissimi quasi aere fusi sunt.
በእንተ፡ ምንት፡ ንግረኒ፡ ወምንተ፡ ንብሎ፡ ወናርምም፡ እነከ፡ ወእንተኒ፡ ኢትንብብ፡ ብዙኀ።
Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?
37:19
ה֭וֹדִיעֵנוּ מַה־נֹּ֣אמַר ל֑וֹ לֹֽא־נַ֝עֲרֹ֗ךְ מִפְּנֵי־חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃
διὰ τί δίδαξόν με τί ἐροῦμεν αὐτῷ καὶ παυσώμεθα πολλὰ λέγοντες
Ostende nobis quid dicamus illi : nos quippe involvimur tenebris.
ቦኑ፡ መጽሐፍ፡ ወጸሐፊ፡ ሎቱ፡ ከመ፡ አርምም፡ እንዘ፡ ይቀውም፡ ብእሲ፡ ኀቤየ።
Teach us what we will tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.
37:20
הַֽיְסֻפַּר־ל֭וֹ כִּ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר אִֽם־אָ֥מַר אִ֝֗ישׁ כִּ֣י יְבֻלָּֽע׃
μὴ βίβλος ἢ γραμματεύς μοι παρέστηκεν ἵνα ἄνθρωπον ἑστηκὼς κατασιωπήσω
Quis narrabit ei quae loquor ? etiam si locutus fuerit homo, devorabitur.
ወአኮ፡ ለኵሉ፡ ዘይትአወቆ፡ ብርሃን፡ ወብርሃን፡ ውእቱ፡ ውስተ፡ ዘይበሊ፡ ከመ፡ ዘእምኀቤሁ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ደመና፡ ነስዕብሩህ።
Will it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?
37:21
וְעַתָּ֤ה׀ לֹ֘א־רָ֤אוּ א֗וֹר בָּהִ֣יר ה֭וּא בַּשְּׁחָקִ֑ים וְר֥וּחַ עָ֝בְרָ֗ה וַֽתְּטַהֲרֵֽם׃
πᾶσιν δ’ οὐχ ὁρατὸν τὸ φῶς τηλαυγές ἐστιν ἐν τοῖς παλαιώμασιν ὥσπερ τὸ παρ’ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ νεφῶν
At nunc non vident lucem : subito aër cogetur in nubes, et ventus transiens fugabit eas.
ቦኑ፡ ዘከመዝ፡ ዓቢይ፡ ስብሐት፡ ወክብር፡ በኀበ፡ ዘኵሎ፡ ይመልክ።
Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.
37:22
מִ֭צָּפוֹן זָהָ֣ב יֶאֱתֶ֑ה עַל־אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַּ נ֣וֹרָא הֽוֹד׃
ἀπὸ βορρᾶ νέφη χρυσαυγοῦντα ἐπὶ τούτοις μεγάλη ἡ δόξα καὶ τιμὴ παντοκράτορος
Ab aquilone aurum venit, et ad Deum formidolosa laudatio.
ኢንረክ፡ ዘከመ፡ ኃይሊ፡ ካልእ፡ ዘጽድቀ፡ ይኴንን፡ ወኢይፈቅድ፡ ይስምዖ።
Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.
37:23
שַׁדַּ֣י לֹא־מְ֭צָאנֻהוּ שַׂגִּיא־כֹ֑חַ וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט וְרֹב־צְ֝דָקָ֗ה לֹ֣א יְעַנֶּֽה׃
καὶ οὐχ εὑρίσκομεν ἄλλον ὅμοιον τῇ ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ ὁ τὰ δίκαια κρίνων οὐκ οἴει ἐπακούειν αὐτόν
Digne eum invenire non possumus : magnus fortitudine, et judicio, et justitia : et enarrari non potest.
ወባሕቱ፡ ይፈርሆ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ ወይፈርህዎ፡ ጠቢባነ፡ ልብሂ።
We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.
37:24
לָ֭כֵן יְרֵא֣וּהוּ אֲנָשִׁ֑ים לֹֽא־יִ֝רְאֶ֗ה כׇּל־חַכְמֵי־לֵֽב׃ {פ}
διὸ φοβηθήσονται αὐτὸν οἱ ἄνθρωποι φοβηθήσονται δὲ αὐτὸν καὶ οἱ σοφοὶ καρδίᾳ
Ideo timebunt eum viri, et non audebunt contemplari omnes qui sibi videntur esse sapientes.
ወእምድኅሬሁሰ፡ ኀደገ፡ በገረ፡ ኤልዩስ።
Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
