24:1
וְאֶל־מֹשֶׁ֨ה אָמַ֜ר עֲלֵ֣ה אֶל־יְהֹוָ֗ה אַתָּה֙ וְאַהֲרֹן֙ נָדָ֣ב וַאֲבִיה֔וּא וְשִׁבְעִ֖ים מִזִּקְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֖ם מֵרָחֹֽק׃
καὶ Μωυσῇ εἶπεν ἀνάβηθι πρὸς κύριον σὺ καὶ Ααρων καὶ Ναδαβ καὶ Αβιουδ καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα τῶν πρεσβυτέρων Ισραηλ καὶ προσκυνήσουσιν μακρόθεν τῷ κυρίῳ
Moysi quoque dixit : Ascende ad Dominum tu, et Aaron, Nadab et Abiu, et septuaginta senes ex Israël, et adorabitis procul.
ወይቤሎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሙሴ ፡ ዕረግ ፡ አንተ ፡ ወአሮን ፡ ወናዳብ ፡ ወአብዩድ ፡ ወመላህቅተ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ፸ዘእስራኤል ፡ ወይስግዱ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ እምርሑቅ ።
He said to Moses, “Come up to Yahweh, you, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship from a distance.
24:2
וְנִגַּ֨שׁ מֹשֶׁ֤ה לְבַדּוֹ֙ אֶל־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְהֵ֖ם לֹ֣א יִגָּ֑שׁוּ וְהָעָ֕ם לֹ֥א יַעֲל֖וּ עִמּֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἐγγιεῖ Μωυσῆς μόνος πρὸς τὸν θεόν αὐτοὶ δὲ οὐκ ἐγγιοῦσιν ὁ δὲ λαὸς οὐ συναναβήσεται μετ’ αὐτῶν
Solusque Moyses ascendet ad Dominum, et illi non appropinquabunt : nec populus ascendet cum eo.
ወይቅረብ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ባሕቲቱ ፡ ይቅረብ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወእሙንቱ ፡ ኢይቅረቡ ፡ ወሕዝብሂ ፡ ኢይዕረጉ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ።
Moses alone shall come near to Yahweh, but they shall not come near. The people shall not go up with him.”
24:3
וַיָּבֹ֣א מֹשֶׁ֗ה וַיְסַפֵּ֤ר לָעָם֙ אֵ֚ת כׇּל־דִּבְרֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה וְאֵ֖ת כׇּל־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֑ים וַיַּ֨עַן כׇּל־הָעָ֜ם ק֤וֹל אֶחָד֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃
εἰσῆλθεν δὲ Μωυσῆς καὶ διηγήσατο τῷ λαῷ πάντα τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα ἀπεκρίθη δὲ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς φωνῇ μιᾷ λέγοντες πάντας τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἐλάλησεν κύριος ποιήσομεν καὶ ἀκουσόμεθα
Venit ergo Moyses et narravit plebi omnia verba Domini, atque judicia : responditque omnis populus una voce : Omnia verba Domini, quae locutus est, faciemus.
ወቦአ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ወአይድዐ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወጽድቆ ፡ ወአውሥኡ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ በ፩ቃል ፡ ወይቤሉ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ዘነበበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ንገብር ፡ ወንሰምዕ ።
Moses came and told the people all Yahweh’s words, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “All the words which Yahweh has spoken will we do.”
24:4
וַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב מֹשֶׁ֗ה אֵ֚ת כׇּל־דִּבְרֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֣ם בַּבֹּ֔קֶר וַיִּ֥בֶן מִזְבֵּ֖חַ תַּ֣חַת הָהָ֑ר וּשְׁתֵּ֤ים עֶשְׂרֵה֙ מַצֵּבָ֔ה לִשְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖ר שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἔγραψεν Μωυσῆς πάντα τὰ ῥήματα κυρίου ὀρθρίσας δὲ Μωυσῆς τὸ πρωὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν θυσιαστήριον ὑπὸ τὸ ὄρος καὶ δώδεκα λίθους εἰς τὰς δώδεκα φυλὰς τοῦ Ισραηλ
Scripsit autem Moyses universos sermones Domini : et mane consurgens, aedificavit altare ad radices montis, et duodecim titulos per duodecim tribus Israël.
ወጸሐፈ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወገይሶ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ በጽባሕ ፡ ሐነጸ ፡ ምሥዋዐ ፡ ጠቃ ፡ ደብር ፡ ወ፲ወ፪እብን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ፲ወ፪ሕዝብ ፡ ዘእስራኤል ።
Moses wrote all Yahweh’s words, then rose up early in the morning and built an altar at the base of the mountain, with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
24:5
וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח אֶֽת־נַעֲרֵי֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַֽיַּעֲל֖וּ עֹלֹ֑ת וַֽיִּזְבְּח֞וּ זְבָחִ֧ים שְׁלָמִ֛ים לַיהֹוָ֖ה פָּרִֽים׃
καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν τοὺς νεανίσκους τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ ἔθυσαν θυσίαν σωτηρίου τῷ θεῷ μοσχάρια
Misitque juvenes de filiis Israël, et obtulerunt holocausta, immolaveruntque victimas pacificas Domino, vitulos.
ወፈነወ ፡ ወራዙቶሙ ፡ ለውሉደ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወአዕረጉ ፡ መሥዋዕተ ፡ ወሦዑ ፡ መሥዋዕተ ፡ መድኀኒት ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አልህምተ ።
He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of cattle to Yahweh.
24:6
וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֹשֶׁה֙ חֲצִ֣י הַדָּ֔ם וַיָּ֖שֶׂם בָּאַגָּנֹ֑ת וַחֲצִ֣י הַדָּ֔ם זָרַ֖ק עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃
λαβὼν δὲ Μωυσῆς τὸ ἥμισυ τοῦ αἵματος ἐνέχεεν εἰς κρατῆρας τὸ δὲ ἥμισυ τοῦ αἵματος προσέχεεν πρὸς τὸ θυσιαστήριον
Tulit itaque Moyses dimidiam partem sanguinis, et misit in crateras : partem autem residuam fudit super altare.
ወነሥአ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ መንፈቀ ፡ ደሙ ፡ ወከዐወ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መቃልድ ፡ ወመንፈቀ ፡ ደሙ ፡ ከዐወ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መሥዋዕት ።
Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
24:7
וַיִּקַּח֙ סֵ֣פֶר הַבְּרִ֔ית וַיִּקְרָ֖א בְּאׇזְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה נַעֲשֶׂ֥ה וְנִשְׁמָֽע׃
καὶ λαβὼν τὸ βιβλίον τῆς διαθήκης ἀνέγνω εἰς τὰ ὦτα τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ εἶπαν πάντα ὅσα ἐλάλησεν κύριος ποιήσομεν καὶ ἀκουσόμεθα
Assumensque volumen foederis, legit audiente populo : qui dixerunt : Omnia quae locutus est Dominus, faciemus, et erimus obedientes.
ወነሥአ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ወአንበበ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እዝነ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ወይቤሉ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘነበበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ንገብር ፡ ወንሰምዕ ።
He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “We will do all that Yahweh has said, and be obedient.”
24:8
וַיִּקַּ֤ח מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶת־הַדָּ֔ם וַיִּזְרֹ֖ק עַל־הָעָ֑ם וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִנֵּ֤ה דַֽם־הַבְּרִית֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר כָּרַ֤ת יְהֹוָה֙ עִמָּכֶ֔ם עַ֥ל כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃
λαβὼν δὲ Μωυσῆς τὸ αἷμα κατεσκέδασεν τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ τὸ αἷμα τῆς διαθήκης ἧς διέθετο κύριος πρὸς ὑμᾶς περὶ πάντων τῶν λόγων τούτων
Ille vero sumptum sanguinem respersit in populum, et ait : Hic est sanguis foederis quod pepigit Dominus vobiscum super cunctis sermonibus his.
ወነሥአ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ደመ ፡ ወነዝኀ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ወይቤ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ደመ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ዘሐገገ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በእንተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዝቃል ።
Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh has made with you concerning all these words.”
24:9
וַיַּ֥עַל מֹשֶׁ֖ה וְאַהֲרֹ֑ן נָדָב֙ וַאֲבִיה֔וּא וְשִׁבְעִ֖ים מִזִּקְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἀνέβη Μωυσῆς καὶ Ααρων καὶ Ναδαβ καὶ Αβιουδ καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα τῆς γερουσίας Ισραηλ
Ascenderuntque Moyses et Aaron, Nadab et Abiu, et septuaginta de senioribus Israël :
ወዐርጉ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ወአሮን ፡ ወናዳብ ፡ ወአብዩድ ፡ ወ፸ሊቃነ ፡ እስራኤል ።
Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.
24:10
וַיִּרְא֕וּ אֵ֖ת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְתַ֣חַת רַגְלָ֗יו כְּמַעֲשֵׂה֙ לִבְנַ֣ת הַסַּפִּ֔יר וּכְעֶ֥צֶם הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם לָטֹֽהַר׃
καὶ εἶδον τὸν τόπον οὗ εἱστήκει ἐκεῖ ὁ θεὸς τοῦ Ισραηλ καὶ τὰ ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ ἔργον πλίνθου σαπφείρου καὶ ὥσπερ εἶδος στερεώματος τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τῇ καθαριότητι
et viderunt Deum Israël : et sub pedibus ejus quasi opus lapidis sapphirini, et quasi caelum, cum serenum est.
ወርእዩ ፡ መካነ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ይቀውም ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘእስራኤል ፡ ወዘታሕተ ፡ እግሩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ግብረተ ፡ ግንፋል ፡ ዘስንፒር ፡ ወከመ ፡ ርእየተ ፡ ጽንዐ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ኀወጸት ።
They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was like a paved work of sapphire stone, like the skies for clearness.
24:11
וְאֶל־אֲצִילֵי֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹ֥א שָׁלַ֖ח יָד֑וֹ וַיֶּֽחֱזוּ֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים וַיֹּאכְל֖וּ וַיִּשְׁתּֽוּ׃ {ס}
καὶ τῶν ἐπιλέκτων τοῦ Ισραηλ οὐ διεφώνησεν οὐδὲ εἷς καὶ ὤφθησαν ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον
Nec super eos qui procul recesserant de filiis Israël, misit manum suam, videruntque Deum, et comederunt, ac biberunt.
ወኅሩያኒሆሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ዘአልቦ ፡ ዘይመስሎሙ ፡ አስተርአዩ ፡ በመካን ፡ ዘእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወበልዑ ፡ ወሰትዩ ።
He didn’t lay his hand on the nobles of the children of Israel. They saw God, and ate and drank.
24:12
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה עֲלֵ֥ה אֵלַ֛י הָהָ֖רָה וֶהְיֵה־שָׁ֑ם וְאֶתְּנָ֨ה לְךָ֜ אֶת־לֻחֹ֣ת הָאֶ֗בֶן וְהַתּוֹרָה֙ וְהַמִּצְוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּתַ֖בְתִּי לְהוֹרֹתָֽם׃
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἀνάβηθι πρός με εἰς τὸ ὄρος καὶ ἴσθι ἐκεῖ καὶ δώσω σοι τὰ πυξία τὰ λίθινα τὸν νόμον καὶ τὰς ἐντολάς ἃς ἔγραψα νομοθετῆσαι αὐτοῖς
Dixit autem Dominus ad Moysen : Ascende ad me in montem, et esto ibi : daboque tibi tabulas lapideas, et legem, ac mandata quae scripsi : ut doceas eos.
ወይቤሎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሙሴ ፡ ዕረግ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደብር ፡ ወሀሉ ፡ ህየ ፡ ወአሀብከ ፡ ሰሊዳተ ፡ ዘእብን ፡ ዘሕግ ፡ ወትእዛዝ ፡ ዘጸሐፍኩ ፡ ትሕግግ ፡ ሎሙ ።
Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them.”
24:13
וַיָּ֣קׇם מֹשֶׁ֔ה וִיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ מְשָׁרְת֑וֹ וַיַּ֥עַל מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶל־הַ֥ר הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃
καὶ ἀναστὰς Μωυσῆς καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ παρεστηκὼς αὐτῷ ἀνέβησαν εἰς τὸ ὄρος τοῦ θεοῦ
Surrexerunt Moyses et Josue minister ejus : ascendensque Moyses in montem Dei,
ወተንሥአ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ወኢየሱስ ፡ ወዐርጉ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God’s Mountain.
24:14
וְאֶל־הַזְּקֵנִ֤ים אָמַר֙ שְׁבוּ־לָ֣נוּ בָזֶ֔ה עַ֥ד אֲשֶׁר־נָשׁ֖וּב אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם וְהִנֵּ֨ה אַהֲרֹ֤ן וְחוּר֙ עִמָּכֶ֔ם מִי־בַ֥עַל דְּבָרִ֖ים יִגַּ֥שׁ אֲלֵהֶֽם׃
καὶ τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις εἶπαν ἡσυχάζετε αὐτοῦ ἕως ἀναστρέψωμεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς καὶ ἰδοὺ Ααρων καὶ Ωρ μεθ’ ὑμῶν ἐάν τινι συμβῇ κρίσις προσπορευέσθωσαν αὐτοῖς
senioribus ait : Expectate hic donec revertamur ad vos. Habetis Aaron et Hur vobiscum : si quid natum fuerit quaestionis, referetis ad eos.
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ለሊቃን ፡ ኢትትዋከቱ ፡ እስከ ፡ ንሠወጥ ፡ ኀቤክሙ ፡ ወናሁ ፡ አሮን ፡ ወሆር ፡ ምስሌክሙ ፡ ለእመቦ ፡ ዘመጽአ ፡ ፍትሕ ፡ ይሑር ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ።
He said to the elders, “Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them.”
24:15
וַיַּ֥עַל מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶל־הָהָ֑ר וַיְכַ֥ס הֶעָנָ֖ן אֶת־הָהָֽר׃
καὶ ἀνέβη Μωυσῆς καὶ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ ὄρος καὶ ἐκάλυψεν ἡ νεφέλη τὸ ὄρος
Cumque ascendisset Moyses, operuit nubes montem,
ወዐርገ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደብር ፡ ወሰወረ ፡ ደብሮ ፡ ደመና ።
Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.
24:16
וַיִּשְׁכֹּ֤ן כְּבוֹד־יְהֹוָה֙ עַל־הַ֣ר סִינַ֔י וַיְכַסֵּ֥הוּ הֶעָנָ֖ן שֵׁ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים וַיִּקְרָ֧א אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֛ה בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י מִתּ֥וֹךְ הֶעָנָֽן׃
καὶ κατέβη ἡ δόξα τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σινα καὶ ἐκάλυψεν αὐτὸ ἡ νεφέλη ἓξ ἡμέρας καὶ ἐκάλεσεν κύριος τὸν Μωυσῆν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ ἐκ μέσου τῆς νεφέλης
et habitavit gloria Domini super Sinai, tegens illum nube sex diebus : septimo autem die vocavit eum de medio caliginis.
ወወረደ ፡ ሠርሑ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደብር ፡ ዘሲና ፡ ወሰወሮ ፡ ደመና ፡ ሰዱሰ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ወጸውዖ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሙሴ ፡ በሳብዕት ፡ ዕለት ፡ እማእከለ ፡ ደመና ።
Yahweh’s glory settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. The seventh day he called to Moses out of the middle of the cloud.
24:17
וּמַרְאֵה֙ כְּב֣וֹד יְהֹוָ֔ה כְּאֵ֥שׁ אֹכֶ֖לֶת בְּרֹ֣אשׁ הָהָ֑ר לְעֵינֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
τὸ δὲ εἶδος τῆς δόξης κυρίου ὡσεὶ πῦρ φλέγον ἐπὶ τῆς κορυφῆς τοῦ ὄρους ἐναντίον τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ
Erat autem species gloriae Domini quasi ignis ardens super verticem montis in conspectu filiorum Israël.
ወአርአያ ፡ ሥራሑ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ ንደተ ፡ እሳት ፡ ሶበ ፡ ያንበለብል ፡ ውስተ ፡ ከተማሁ ፡ ለደብር ፡ በቅድሜሆሙ ፡ ለውሉደ ፡ እስራኤል ።
The appearance of Yahweh’s glory was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.
24:18
וַיָּבֹ֥א מֹשֶׁ֛ה בְּת֥וֹךְ הֶעָנָ֖ן וַיַּ֣עַל אֶל־הָהָ֑ר וַיְהִ֤י מֹשֶׁה֙ בָּהָ֔ר אַרְבָּעִ֣ים י֔וֹם וְאַרְבָּעִ֖ים לָֽיְלָה׃ {פ}
καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Μωυσῆς εἰς τὸ μέσον τῆς νεφέλης καὶ ἀνέβη εἰς τὸ ὄρος καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ ἐν τῷ ὄρει τεσσαράκοντα ἡμέρας καὶ τεσσαράκοντα νύκτας
Ingressusque Moyses medium nebulae, ascendit in montem : et fuit ibi quadraginta diebus, et quadraginta noctibus.
ወቦአ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ደመና ፡ ወዐርገ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደብር ፡ ወነበረ ፡ ፴ዕለተ ፡ ወ፴ሌሊተ ።
Moses entered into the middle of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
