21:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּי ־יִמָּצֵ֣א חָלָ֗ל בָּאֲדָמָה֙ אֲשֶׁר֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ נֹתֵ֤ן לְךָ֙ לְרִשְׁתָּ֔הּ נֹפֵ֖ל בַּשָּׂדֶ֑ה לֹ֥א נוֹדַ֖ע מִ֥י הִכָּֽהוּ ׃
ἐὰν δὲ εὑρεθῇ τραυματίας ἐν τῇ γῇ ᾗ κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι κληρονομῆσαι πεπτωκὼς ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ καὶ οὐκ οἴδασιν τὸν πατάξαντα
Quando inventum fuerit in terra , quam Dominus Deus tuus daturus est tibi , hominis cadaver occisi , et ignorabitur caedis reus ,
ወለእመ ፡ ተረክበ ፡ ቅቱል ፡ በውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ወሀበከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ትትወረሳ ፡ ውዱቀ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ወኢያአምሩ ፡ ቀታሊሁ ፤
If someone is found slain in the land which Yahweh your God gives you to possess, lying in the field, and it isn’t known who has struck him,
21:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיָצְא֥וּ זְקֵנֶ֖יךָ וְשֹׁפְטֶ֑יךָ וּמָדְדוּ֙ אֶל ־הֶ֣עָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר סְבִיבֹ֥ת הֶחָלָֽל ׃
ἐξελεύσεται ἡ γερουσία σου καὶ οἱ κριταί σου καὶ ἐκμετρήσουσιν ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις τὰς κύκλῳ τοῦ τραυματίου
egredientur majores natu , et judices tui , et metientur a loco cadaveris singularum per circuitum spatia civitatum :
ወይወፅኡ ፡ ሊቃናቲክሙ ፡ ወመኳንንቲክሙ ፡ ወይሜጥኑ ፡ ዘአውዱ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ቅቱል ፡ አህጉረ ፤
then your elders and your judges shall come out, and they shall measure to the cities which are around him who is slain.
21:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֣ה הָעִ֔יר הַקְּרֹבָ֖ה אֶל ־הֶחָלָ֑ל וְלָֽקְח֡וּ זִקְנֵי֩ הָעִ֨יר הַהִ֜וא עֶגְלַ֣ת בָּקָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא ־עֻבַּד֙ בָּ֔הּ אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא ־מָשְׁכָ֖ה בְּעֹֽל ׃
καὶ ἔσται ἡ πόλις ἡ ἐγγίζουσα τῷ τραυματίᾳ καὶ λήμψεται ἡ γερουσία τῆς πόλεως ἐκείνης δάμαλιν ἐκ βοῶν ἥτις οὐκ εἴργασται καὶ ἥτις οὐχ εἵλκυσεν ζυγόν
et quam viciniorem ceteris esse perspexerint , seniores civitatis illius tollent vitulam de armento , quae non traxit jugum , nec terram scidit vomere ,
ወሀገር ፡ እንተ ፡ ቀርበት ፡ ይእቲ ፡ መንገሌሁ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ቅቱል ፡ አእሩጊሃ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ሀገር ፡ ያመጽኡ ፡ እጐልተ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ አልህምት ፡ እንተ ፡ ኢተቀንየት ፡ ወእንተ ፡ ኢሰሐበት ፡ አርዑተ ።
It shall be that the elders of the city which is nearest to the slain man shall take a heifer of the herd, which hasn’t been worked with and which has not drawn in the yoke.
21:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהוֹרִ֡דוּ זִקְנֵי֩ הָעִ֨יר הַהִ֤וא אֶת ־הָֽעֶגְלָה֙ אֶל ־נַ֣חַל אֵיתָ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא ־יֵעָבֵ֥ד בּ֖וֹ וְלֹ֣א יִזָּרֵ֑עַ וְעָֽרְפוּ ־שָׁ֥ם אֶת ־הָעֶגְלָ֖ה בַּנָּֽחַל ׃
καὶ καταβιβάσουσιν ἡ γερουσία τῆς πόλεως ἐκείνης τὴν δάμαλιν εἰς φάραγγα τραχεῖαν ἥτις οὐκ εἴργασται οὐδὲ σπείρεται καὶ νευροκοπήσουσιν τὴν δάμαλιν ἐν τῇ φάραγγι
et ducent eam ad vallem asperam atque saxosam , quae numquam arata est , nec sementem recepit : et caedent in ea cervices vitulae :
ወያዐርግዋ ፡ አእሩጊሃ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ህገር ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ እጐልት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቈላት ፡ መብእስ ፡ ዘኢተሐርሰ ፡ ወኢተዘርአ ፡ ውስቴቱ ፡ ወይሜትርዋ ፡ ሥረዊሃ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ እጐልት ፡ በውስተ ፡ ቈላት ።
The elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a valley with running water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley.
21:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְנִגְּשׁ֣וּ הַכֹּהֲנִים֮ בְּנֵ֣י לֵוִי֒ כִּ֣י בָ֗ם בָּחַ֞ר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ לְשָׁ֣רְת֔וֹ וּלְבָרֵ֖ךְ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהֹוָ֑ה וְעַל ־פִּיהֶ֥ם יִהְיֶ֖ה כׇּל ־רִ֥יב וְכׇל ־נָֽגַע ׃
καὶ προσελεύσονται οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ Λευῖται ὅτι αὐτοὺς ἐπέλεξεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου παρεστηκέναι αὐτῷ καὶ εὐλογεῖν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ στόματι αὐτῶν ἔσται πᾶσα ἀντιλογία καὶ πᾶσα ἁφή
accedentque sacerdotes filii Levi , quos elegerit Dominus Deus tuus ut ministrent ei , et benedicant in nomine ejus , et ad verbum eorum omne negotium , et quidquid mundum , vel immundum est , judicetur .
ወይመጽኡ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ወሌዋውያን ፡ እስመ ፡ ኪያሆሙ ፡ ኀርየ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይቁሙ ፡ ኀቤሁ ፡ ወይባርኩ ፡ በስመ ፡ ዚአሁ ፡ ወበቃለ ፡ ዚአሆሙ ፡ ይቁም ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ተስናን ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ዘይትኀደግ ።
The priests the sons of Levi shall come near, for them Yahweh your God has chosen to minister to him, and to bless in Yahweh’s name; and according to their word shall every controversy and every assault be decided.
21:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכֹ֗ל זִקְנֵי֙ הָעִ֣יר הַהִ֔וא הַקְּרֹבִ֖ים אֶל ־הֶחָלָ֑ל יִרְחֲצוּ֙ אֶת ־יְדֵיהֶ֔ם עַל ־הָעֶגְלָ֖ה הָעֲרוּפָ֥ה בַנָּֽחַל ׃
καὶ πᾶσα ἡ γερουσία τῆς πόλεως ἐκείνης οἱ ἐγγίζοντες τῷ τραυματίᾳ νίψονται τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν τῆς δαμάλεως τῆς νενευροκοπημένης ἐν τῇ φάραγγι
Et venient majores natu civitatis illius ad interfectum , lavabuntque manus suas super vitulam , quae in valle percussa est ,
ወኵሉ ፡ አእሩጊሃ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ሀገር ፡ እንተ ፡ ቅርብት ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ቅቱል ፡ ለመንገሌሁ ፡ (ወ )ይትኀፀቡ ፡ እደዊሆሙ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ርእሳ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ እጐልት ፡ እንተ ፡ መተርዋ ፡ ሥረዊሃ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ቈላት ።
All the elders of that city which is nearest to the slain man shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley.
21:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעָנ֖וּ וְאָמְר֑וּ יָדֵ֗ינוּ לֹ֤א (שפכה ) [שָֽׁפְכוּ֙ ] אֶת ־הַדָּ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה וְעֵינֵ֖ינוּ לֹ֥א רָאֽוּ ׃
καὶ ἀποκριθέντες ἐροῦσιν αἱ χεῖρες ἡμῶν οὐκ ἐξέχεαν τὸ αἷμα τοῦτο καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἡμῶν οὐχ ἑωράκασιν
et dicent : Manus nostrae non effuderunt sanguinem hunc , nec oculi viderunt :
ወይነብቡ ፡ ወይብሉ ፡ እደዊነ ፡ ኢከዐዋ ፡ ደሞ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ወአዕይንቲነኒ ፡ ኢርእያ ።
They shall answer and say, “Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.
21:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ כַּפֵּר֩ לְעַמְּךָ֨ יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל אֲשֶׁר ־פָּדִ֙יתָ֙ יְהֹוָ֔ה וְאַל ־תִּתֵּן֙ דָּ֣ם נָקִ֔י בְּקֶ֖רֶב עַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְנִכַּפֵּ֥ר לָהֶ֖ם הַדָּֽם ׃
ἵλεως γενοῦ τῷ λαῷ σου Ισραηλ οὓς ἐλυτρώσω κύριε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἵνα μὴ γένηται αἷμα ἀναίτιον ἐν τῷ λαῷ σου Ισραηλ καὶ ἐξιλασθήσεται αὐτοῖς τὸ αἷμα
propitius esto populo tuo Israël , quem redemisti , Domine , et ne reputes sanguinem innocentem in medio populi tui Israël . Et auferetur ab eis reatus sanguinis :
ስሪ ፡ ለሕዝብከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ እለ ፡ ቤዘውካሆሙ ፡ እምነ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ግብጽ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይኩን ፡ ጌጋየ ፡ ነፍስ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሕዝብከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወይሰረይ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ነፍስ ።
Forgive, Yahweh, your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, and don’t allow innocent blood among your people Israel.” The blood shall be forgiven them.
21:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֗ה תְּבַעֵ֛ר הַדָּ֥ם הַנָּקִ֖י מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ כִּֽי ־תַעֲשֶׂ֥ה הַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה ׃ {ס}
σὺ δὲ ἐξαρεῖς τὸ αἷμα τὸ ἀναίτιον ἐξ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν ἐὰν ποιήσῃς τὸ καλὸν καὶ τὸ ἀρεστὸν ἔναντι κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου
tu autem alienus eris ab innocentis cruore , qui fusus est , cum feceris quod praecepit Dominus .
ወአንተሰ ፡ አሰስል ፡ ጌጋየ ፡ ነፍስ ፡ እምላዕሌክሙ ፡ ወትከውን ፡ ሠናይት ፡ ላዕሌከ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ገበርከ ፡ ዘሠናይ ፡ ወዘአዳም ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ።
So you shall put away the innocent blood from among you, when you shall do that which is right in Yahweh’s eyes.
21:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־תֵצֵ֥א לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה עַל ־אֹיְבֶ֑יךָ וּנְתָנ֞וֹ יְהֹוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ בְּיָדֶ֖ךָ וְשָׁבִ֥יתָ שִׁבְיֽוֹ ׃
ἐὰν δὲ ἐξελθὼν εἰς πόλεμον ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου καὶ παραδῷ σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς τὰς χεῖράς σου καὶ προνομεύσεις τὴν προνομὴν αὐτῶν
Si egressus fueris ad pugnam contra inimicos tuos , et tradiderit eos Dominus Deus tuus in manu tua , captivosque duxeris ,
ወለእመኒ ፡ ወፃእከ ፡ ፀብአ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ፀርከ ፡ ወአግብኦሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እዴከ ፡ ወፄወውከ ፡ ፄዋሆሙ ፤
When you go out to battle against your enemies, and Yahweh your God delivers them into your hands and you carry them away captive,
21:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְרָאִ֙יתָ֙ בַּשִּׁבְיָ֔ה אֵ֖שֶׁת יְפַת ־תֹּ֑אַר וְחָשַׁקְתָּ֣ בָ֔הּ וְלָקַחְתָּ֥ לְךָ֖ לְאִשָּֽׁה ׃
καὶ ἴδῃς ἐν τῇ προνομῇ γυναῖκα καλὴν τῷ εἴδει καὶ ἐνθυμηθῇς αὐτῆς καὶ λάβῃς αὐτὴν σαυτῷ γυναῖκα
et videris in numero captivorum mulierem pulchram , et adamaveris eam , voluerisque habere uxorem ,
ወርኢከ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ፄዋ ፡ ብእሲተ ፡ እንተ ፡ ሠናይት ፡ ርእየታ ፡ ወፈተውካሃ ፡ ወነሣእካሃ ፡ ለከ ፡ ትኩንከ ፡ ብእሲተ ፤
and see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you are attracted to her, and desire to take her as your wife,
21:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַהֲבֵאתָ֖הּ אֶל ־תּ֣וֹךְ בֵּיתֶ֑ךָ וְגִלְּחָה֙ אֶת ־רֹאשָׁ֔הּ וְעָשְׂתָ֖ה אֶת ־צִפׇּרְנֶֽיהָ ׃
καὶ εἰσάξεις αὐτὴν ἔνδον εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν σου καὶ ξυρήσεις τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτῆς καὶ περιονυχιεῖς αὐτὴν
introduces eam in domum tuam : quae radet caesariem , et circumcidet ungues ,
ወታበውኣ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ጽርሐ ፡ ቤትከ ፡ ወትላጽያ ፡ ርእሳ ፡ ወትጼፍራ ።
then you shall bring her home to your house. She shall shave her head and trim her nails.
21:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהֵסִ֩ירָה֩ אֶת ־שִׂמְלַ֨ת שִׁבְיָ֜הּ מֵעָלֶ֗יהָ וְיָֽשְׁבָה֙ בְּבֵיתֶ֔ךָ וּבָ֥כְתָ֛ה אֶת ־אָבִ֥יהָ וְאֶת ־אִמָּ֖הּ יֶ֣רַח יָמִ֑ים וְאַ֨חַר כֵּ֜ן תָּב֤וֹא אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ וּבְעַלְתָּ֔הּ וְהָיְתָ֥ה לְךָ֖ לְאִשָּֽׁה ׃
καὶ περιελεῖς τὰ ἱμάτια τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας αὐτῆς ἀπ’ αὐτῆς καὶ καθίεται ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ σου καὶ κλαύσεται τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα μηνὸς ἡμέρας καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσελεύσῃ πρὸς αὐτὴν καὶ συνοικισθήσῃ αὐτῇ καὶ ἔσται σου γυνή
et deponet vestem , in qua capta est : sedensque in domo tua , flebit patrem et matrem suam uno mense : et postea intrabis ad eam , dormiesque cum illa , et erit uxor tua .
ወታሴስል ፡ አልባሲሃ ፡ ዘቦቱ ፡ ተፄወወት ፡ ወታነብራ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤትከ ፡ ወትበኪ ፡ አቡሃ ፡ ወእማ ፡ ሠላሳ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ወእምድኅረ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ትበውእ ፡ ኀቤሃ ፡ ወትነብር ፡ ምስሌሃ ፡ ወትከውነከ ፡ ብእሲተ ።
She shall take off the clothing of her captivity, and shall remain in your house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month. After that you shall go in to her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.
21:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֞ה אִם ־לֹ֧א חָפַ֣צְתָּ בָּ֗הּ וְשִׁלַּחְתָּהּ֙ לְנַפְשָׁ֔הּ וּמָכֹ֥ר לֹא ־תִמְכְּרֶ֖נָּה בַּכָּ֑סֶף לֹא ־תִתְעַמֵּ֣ר בָּ֔הּ תַּ֖חַת אֲשֶׁ֥ר עִנִּיתָֽהּ ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν μὴ θέλῃς αὐτήν ἐξαποστελεῖς αὐτὴν ἐλευθέραν καὶ πράσει οὐ πραθήσεται ἀργυρίου οὐκ ἀθετήσεις αὐτήν διότι ἐταπείνωσας αὐτήν
Si autem postea non sederit animo tuo , dimittes eam liberam , nec vendere poteris pecunia , nec opprimere per potentiam : quia humiliasti eam .
ወእምዝ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ኢፈቀድካሃ ፡ ትፌንዋ ፡ አግዓዚተ ፡ ወሠይጠሰ ፡ ኢትሠይጣ ፡ በወርቅ ፡ ወኢትክሕዳ ፡ ከመ ፡ አውሰብካሃ ።
It shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall let her go where she desires; but you shall not sell her at all for money. You shall not deal with her as a slave, because you have humbled her.
21:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־תִהְיֶ֨יןָ לְאִ֜ישׁ שְׁתֵּ֣י נָשִׁ֗ים הָאַחַ֤ת אֲהוּבָה֙ וְהָאַחַ֣ת שְׂנוּאָ֔ה וְיָֽלְדוּ ־ל֣וֹ בָנִ֔ים הָאֲהוּבָ֖ה וְהַשְּׂנוּאָ֑ה וְהָיָ֛ה הַבֵּ֥ן הַבְּכֹ֖ר לַשְּׂנִיאָֽה ׃
ἐὰν δὲ γένωνται ἀνθρώπῳ δύο γυναῖκες μία αὐτῶν ἠγαπημένη καὶ μία αὐτῶν μισουμένη καὶ τέκωσιν αὐτῷ ἡ ἠγαπημένη καὶ ἡ μισουμένη καὶ γένηται υἱὸς πρωτότοκος τῆς μισουμένης
Si habuerit homo uxores duas , unam dilectam , et alteram odiosam , genuerintque ex eo liberos , et fuerit filius odiosae primogenitus ,
ወለአመኒ ፡ አውሰበ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ክልኤ ፡ አንስተ ፡ ወለአሐቲ ፡ ይጸልእ ፡ ወለአሐቲ ፡ ያፈቅር ፡ ወወለደት ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ወልዶ ፡ በኩሮ ፡ እንተ ፡ ይጸልእ ፤
If a man has two wives, the one beloved and the other hated, and they have borne him children, both the beloved and the hated, and if the firstborn son is hers who was hated,
21:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֗ה בְּיוֹם֙ הַנְחִיל֣וֹ אֶת ־בָּנָ֔יו אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר ־יִהְיֶ֖ה ל֑וֹ לֹ֣א יוּכַ֗ל לְבַכֵּר֙ אֶת ־בֶּן ־הָ֣אֲהוּבָ֔ה עַל ־פְּנֵ֥י בֶן ־הַשְּׂנוּאָ֖ה הַבְּכֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἔσται ᾗ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ κατακληροδοτῇ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτοῦ τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ οὐ δυνήσεται πρωτοτοκεῦσαι τῷ υἱῷ τῆς ἠγαπημένης ὑπεριδὼν τὸν υἱὸν τῆς μισουμένης τὸν πρωτότοκον
volueritque substantiam inter filios suos dividere , non poterit filium dilectae facere primogenitum , et praeferre filio odiosae :
አመ ፡ ያስተዋርሶሙ ፡ ንዋዮ ፡ ለደቂቁ ፡ ኢይክል ፡ አዕብዮቶ ፡ ለወልደ ፡ እንተ ፡ ያፈቅር ፡ ወተዐውሮቶ ፡ ለወልዳ ፡ ለእንተ ፡ ይጸልእ ።
then it shall be, in the day that he causes his sons to inherit that which he has, that he may not give the son of the beloved the rights of the firstborn before the son of the hated, who is the firstborn;
21:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּי֩ אֶת ־הַבְּכֹ֨ר בֶּן ־הַשְּׂנוּאָ֜ה יַכִּ֗יר לָ֤תֶת לוֹ֙ פִּ֣י שְׁנַ֔יִם בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר ־יִמָּצֵ֖א ל֑וֹ כִּי ־הוּא֙ רֵאשִׁ֣ית אֹנ֔וֹ ל֖וֹ מִשְׁפַּ֥ט הַבְּכֹרָֽה ׃ {ס}
ἀλλὰ τὸν πρωτότοκον υἱὸν τῆς μισουμένης ἐπιγνώσεται δοῦναι αὐτῷ διπλᾶ ἀπὸ πάντων ὧν ἂν εὑρεθῇ αὐτῷ ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν ἀρχὴ τέκνων αὐτοῦ καὶ τούτῳ καθήκει τὰ πρωτοτόκια
sed filium odiosae agnoscet primogenitum , dabitque ei de his quae habuerit cuncta duplicia : iste est enim principium liberorum ejus , et huic debentur primogenita .
ወይሁቦ ፡ ምክዕቢተ ፡ እምነ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘተረክበ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ እስመ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ቀዳሜ ፡ ውሉዱ ፡ ወሎቱ ፡ ይሬሲ ፡ ዘበኵሩ ።
but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the hated, by giving him a double portion of all that he has; for he is the beginning of his strength. The right of the firstborn is his.
21:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־יִהְיֶ֣ה לְאִ֗ישׁ בֵּ֚ן סוֹרֵ֣ר וּמוֹרֶ֔ה אֵינֶ֣נּוּ שֹׁמֵ֔עַ בְּק֥וֹל אָבִ֖יו וּבְק֣וֹל אִמּ֑וֹ וְיִסְּר֣וּ אֹת֔וֹ וְלֹ֥א יִשְׁמַ֖ע אֲלֵיהֶֽם ׃
ἐὰν δέ τινι ᾖ υἱὸς ἀπειθὴς καὶ ἐρεθιστὴς οὐχ ὑπακούων φωνὴν πατρὸς καὶ φωνὴν μητρὸς καὶ παιδεύσωσιν αὐτὸν καὶ μὴ εἰσακούῃ αὐτῶν
Si genuerit homo filium contumacem et protervum , qui non audiat patris aut matris imperium , et coërcitus obedire contempserit :
ወለእመቦ ፡ ዘቦቱ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ከሓዴ ፡ ወዝሁረ ፡ ወኢይትኤዘዝ ፡ ለቃለ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ወለቃለ ፡ እሙ ፡ ወይጌሥጽዎ ፡ ወኢይሰምዖሙ ፤
If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and though they chasten him, will not listen to them,
21:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְתָ֥פְשׂוּ ב֖וֹ אָבִ֣יו וְאִמּ֑וֹ וְהוֹצִ֧יאוּ אֹת֛וֹ אֶל ־זִקְנֵ֥י עִיר֖וֹ וְאֶל ־שַׁ֥עַר מְקֹמֽוֹ ׃
καὶ συλλαβόντες αὐτὸν ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξάξουσιν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν γερουσίαν τῆς πόλεως αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν πύλην τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦ
apprehendent eum , et ducent ad seniores civitatis illius , et ad portam judicii ,
ወይወስድዎ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሊቃናተ ፡ ሀገሩ ፡ ወውስተ ፡ አንቀጸ ፡ ብሔሩ ።
then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city and to the gate of his place.
21:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאָמְר֞וּ אֶל ־זִקְנֵ֣י עִיר֗וֹ בְּנֵ֤נוּ זֶה֙ סוֹרֵ֣ר וּמֹרֶ֔ה אֵינֶ֥נּוּ שֹׁמֵ֖עַ בְּקֹלֵ֑נוּ זוֹלֵ֖ל וְסֹבֵֽא ׃
καὶ ἐροῦσιν τοῖς ἀνδράσιν τῆς πόλεως αὐτῶν ὁ υἱὸς ἡμῶν οὗτος ἀπειθεῖ καὶ ἐρεθίζει οὐχ ὑπακούει τῆς φωνῆς ἡμῶν συμβολοκοπῶν οἰνοφλυγεῖ
dicentque ad eos : Filius noster iste protervus et contumax est : monita nostra audire contemnit , comessationibus vacat , et luxuriae atque conviviis :
ወይብልዎሙ ፡ ለሰብአ ፡ ሀገሮሙ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ወልድነ ፡ ይክህደነ ፡ ወያዐቢ ፡ ርእሶ ፡ ወኢይሰምዕ ፡ ቃለነ ፡ ወይሠግር ፡ ወይሰክር ።
They shall tell the elders of his city, “This our son is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard.”
21:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּ֠רְגָמֻ֠הוּ כׇּל ־אַנְשֵׁ֨י עִיר֤וֹ בָֽאֲבָנִים֙ וָמֵ֔ת וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ הָרָ֖ע מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ וְכׇל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יִשְׁמְע֥וּ וְיִרָֽאוּ ׃ {ס}
καὶ λιθοβολήσουσιν αὐτὸν οἱ ἄνδρες τῆς πόλεως αὐτοῦ ἐν λίθοις καὶ ἀποθανεῖται καὶ ἐξαρεῖς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ ἐπίλοιποι ἀκούσαντες φοβηθήσονται
lapidibus eum obruet populus civitatis , et morietur , ut auferatis malum de medio vestri , et universus Israël audiens pertimescat .
ወይወግርዎ ፡ በእብን ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ሀገሩ ፡ ወይቀትልዎ ፡ ወታሴስል ፡ እኩየ ፡ እምኔክሙ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ሰሚዖ ፡ ይፍራህ ።
All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall remove the evil from among you. All Israel shall hear, and fear.
21:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכִֽי ־יִהְיֶ֣ה בְאִ֗ישׁ חֵ֛טְא מִשְׁפַּט ־מָ֖וֶת וְהוּמָ֑ת וְתָלִ֥יתָ אֹת֖וֹ עַל ־עֵֽץ ׃
ἐὰν δὲ γένηται ἔν τινι ἁμαρτία κρίμα θανάτου καὶ ἀποθάνῃ καὶ κρεμάσητε αὐτὸν ἐπὶ ξύλου
Quando peccaverit homo quod morte plectendum est , et adjudicatus morti appensus fuerit in patibulo :
ወለእመቦ ፡ ዘአበሰ ፡ ወበጽሖ ፡ ጌጋዩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትኰነን ፡ ሞተ ፡ ትስቅልዎ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ዕፅ ፡ ወቅትልዎ ።
If a man has committed a sin worthy of death, and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree,
21:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹא ־תָלִ֨ין נִבְלָת֜וֹ עַל ־הָעֵ֗ץ כִּֽי ־קָב֤וֹר תִּקְבְּרֶ֙נּוּ֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא כִּֽי ־קִלְלַ֥ת אֱלֹהִ֖ים תָּל֑וּי וְלֹ֤א תְטַמֵּא֙ אֶת ־אַדְמָ֣תְךָ֔ אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ נַחֲלָֽה ׃ {ס}
οὐκ ἐπικοιμηθήσεται τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοῦ ξύλου ἀλλὰ ταφῇ θάψετε αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ὅτι κεκατηραμένος ὑπὸ θεοῦ πᾶς κρεμάμενος ἐπὶ ξύλου καὶ οὐ μιανεῖτε τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι ἐν κλήρῳ
non permanebit cadaver ejus in ligno , sed in eadem die sepelietur : quia maledictus a Deo est qui pendet in ligno : et nequaquam contaminabis terram tuam , quam Dominus Deus tuus dederit tibi in possessionem .
ወኢይቢት ፡ ሥጋሁ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ዕፅ ፡ አላ ፡ ቀቢረ ፡ ቅብርዎ ፡ በይእቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ እስመ ፡ ርጉም ፡ ውእቱ ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘስቁል ፡ ዲበ ፡ ዕፅ ፡ ወኢታርኵስዋ ፡ ለምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ይሁበከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ መክፈልተከ ።
his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him the same day; for he who is hanged is accursed of God. Don’t defile your land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance.
