11:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ὄφελον ἀνείχεσθέ μου μικρόν τι ἀφροσύνης · ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀνέχεσθέ μου .
Utinam sustineretis modicum quid insipientiae meae , sed et supportare me :
ወርዕቱሰ ትትዐገሡኒ ኅዳጠ ከመ እንብብ በእበድየ እንዘ ትትዔገሡኒ ።
I wish that you would bear with me in a little foolishness, but indeed you do bear with me.
11:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ζηλῶ γὰρ ὑμᾶς θεοῦ ζήλῳ , ἡρμοσάμην γὰρ ὑμᾶς ἑνὶ ἀνδρὶ παρθένον ἁγνὴν παραστῆσαι τῷ Χριστῷ ·
aemulor enim vos Dei aemulatione . Despondi enim vos uni viro , virginem castam exhibere Christo .
እስመ እቀንእ ለክሙ ቅንአተ እግዚአብሔር እስመ ፈኀርኩክሙ ለአሐዱ ምት ድንግል ወንጹሕ ክርስቶስ ከመ አቅርብክሙ ኀቤሁ ።
For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy. For I promised you in marriage to one husband, that I might present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
11:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ φοβοῦμαι δὲ μήπως , ὡς ὁ ὄφις ἐξηπάτησεν Εὔαν ἐν τῇ πανουργίᾳ αὐτοῦ , φθαρῇ τὰ νοήματα ὑμῶν ἀπὸ τῆς ἁπλότητος τῆς εἰς Χριστόν .
Timeo autem ne sicut serpens Hevam seduxit astutia sua , ita corrumpantur sensus vestri , et excidant a simplicitate , quae est in Christo .
ወባሕቱ እፈርህ ዮጊ ከመ አርዌ ምድር አስሐታ ለሔዋን በጕሕልት እንዳዒ ለእመ ይማስን ልብክሙ እምየውሃቱ ወንጽሑ ለክርስቶስ ።
But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
11:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ μὲν γὰρ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἄλλον Ἰησοῦν κηρύσσει ὃν οὐκ ἐκηρύξαμεν , ἢ πνεῦμα ἕτερον λαμβάνετε ὃ οὐκ ἐλάβετε , ἢ εὐαγγέλιον ἕτερον ὃ οὐκ ἐδέξασθε , καλῶς ἀνέχεσθε .
Nam si is qui venit , alium Christum praedicat , quem non praedicavimus , aut alium spiritum accipitis , quem non accepistis : aut aliud Evangelium , quod non recepistis : recte pateremini .
ሶበሁ ኮነ ዘይመጽእ ኀቤክሙ ዘጸውዐክሙ ኀበ ካልእ ኢየሱስ ዘኢሰበክነ ለክሙ ወእመ ቦ ካልእ መንፈስ ዘትነሥኡ ዘኢነሣእክሙ ወእመኒ በካልእ ትምህርት ዘኢተመሀርክሙ ርቱዕ ትጽንሑነ ።
For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we didn’t preach, or if you receive a different spirit which you didn’t receive, or a different “good news” which you didn’t accept, you put up with that well enough.
11:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ λογίζομαι γὰρ μηδὲν ὑστερηκέναι τῶν ὑπερλίαν ἀποστόλων ·
Existimo enim nihil me minus fecisse a magnis Apostolis .
ወባሕቱ እትሔዘብ አልቦ ዘአሕጸጽኩክሙ እምዘባዕዳን ሐዋርያት ።
For I reckon that I am not at all behind the very best apostles.
11:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ δὲ καὶ ἰδιώτης τῷ λόγῳ , ἀλλ’ οὐ τῇ γνώσει , ἀλλ’ ἐν παντὶ φανερώσαντες ἐν πᾶσιν εἰς ὑμᾶς .
Nam etsi imperitus sermone , sed non scientia , in omnibus autem manifestati sumus vobis .
ወእመኒ አብድ አነ በቃልየ አኮኬ በልብየ ወባሕቱ እከሥት ለክሙ ኵሎ ውስተ ኵሉ ።
But though I am unskilled in speech, yet I am not unskilled in knowledge. No, in every way we have been revealed to you in all things.
11:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἢ ἁμαρτίαν ἐποίησα ἐμαυτὸν ταπεινῶν ἵνα ὑμεῖς ὑψωθῆτε , ὅτι δωρεὰν τὸ τοῦ θεοῦ εὐαγγέλιον εὐηγγελισάμην ὑμῖν ;
Aut numquid peccatum feci , meipsum humilians , ut vos exaltemini ? quoniam gratis Evangelium Dei evangelizavi vobis ?
ወሚመ አበስኩኑ እንጋ ዘአሕመምኩ ርእስየ በኵሉ ከመ አንትሙ ትትለዐሉ እስመ በከንቱ መሀርኩክሙ ትምህርተ እግዚአብሔር ።
Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached to you God’s Good News free of charge?
11:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄλλας ἐκκλησίας ἐσύλησα λαβὼν ὀψώνιον πρὸς τὴν ὑμῶν διακονίαν , καὶ παρὼν πρὸς ὑμᾶς καὶ ὑστερηθεὶς οὐ κατενάρκησα οὐθενός ·
Alias ecclesias expoliavi , accipiens stipendium ad ministerium vestrum .
ወባዕደሰ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ቀሠጥኩ ወነሣእኩ ለሲሳይየ ከመ እትለአክሙ ።
I robbed other assemblies, taking wages from them that I might serve you.
11:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ τὸ γὰρ ὑστέρημά μου προσανεπλήρωσαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ ἐλθόντες ἀπὸ Μακεδονίας · καὶ ἐν παντὶ ἀβαρῆ ἐμαυτὸν ὑμῖν ἐτήρησα καὶ τηρήσω .
Et cum essem apud vos , et egerem , nulli onerosus fui : nam quod mihi deerat , suppleverunt fratres , qui venerunt a Macedonia : et in omnibus sine onere me vobis servavi , et servabo .
ወአመሂ ሀለውኩ ኀቤክሙ ኢተሰቈቁ ንዋየክሙ እንዘ እጼነስ ወኀበሂ ኢያእከልኩ ሰለጡ ሊተ አኀዊነ በጺሖሙ እመቄዶንያ ወበኵሉ ተዐቀብኩ ከመ ኢያክብድ ላዕሌክሙ ወእትዐቀብሂ ።
When I was present with you and was in need, I wasn’t a burden on anyone, for the brothers, when they came from Macedonia, supplied the measure of my need. In everything I kept myself from being burdensome to you, and I will continue to do so.
11:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔστιν ἀλήθεια Χριστοῦ ἐν ἐμοὶ ὅτι ἡ καύχησις αὕτη οὐ φραγήσεται εἰς ἐμὲ ἐν τοῖς κλίμασιν τῆς Ἀχαΐας .
Est veritas Christi in me , quoniam haec gloriatio non infringetur in me in regionibus Achaiae .
እስመ ጽድቁ ለክርስቶስ ይሄሉ ምስሌየ ወኢተዐጽወተኒ ዛቲ ፍሥሓየ በደወለ አካይያ ።
As the truth of Christ is in me, no one will stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
11:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ διατί ; ὅτι οὐκ ἀγαπῶ ὑμᾶς ; ὁ θεὸς οἶδεν .
Quare ? quia non diligo vos ? Deus scit .
በእንተ ምንት እስመሁ እንጋ ኢያፈቅረክሙኑ እንከሰ እግዚአብሔር የአምር ዘንተ ።
Why? Because I don’t love you? God knows.
11:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃ δὲ ποιῶ καὶ ποιήσω , ἵνα ἐκκόψω τὴν ἀφορμὴν τῶν θελόντων ἀφορμήν , ἵνα ἐν ᾧ καυχῶνται εὑρεθῶσιν καθὼς καὶ ἡμεῖς .
Quod autem facio , et faciam : ut amputem occasionem eorum qui volunt occasionem , ut in quo gloriantur , inveniantur sicut et nos .
ወባሕቱ ዘሂ ገበርኩ ወዘሂ እገብር ከመ እክልኦሙ ምክንያተ ለእለ ይፈቅዱ ምክንያተ ከመ ኢይርከቡ እሙንቱሂ በዘይትሜክሑ ከማነ ።
But what I do, that I will continue to do, that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity, that in which they boast, they may be recognized just like us.
11:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ γὰρ τοιοῦτοι ψευδαπόστολοι , ἐργάται δόλιοι , μετασχηματιζόμενοι εἰς ἀποστόλους Χριστοῦ .
Nam ejusmodi pseudoapostoli sunt operarii subdoli , transfigurantes se in apostolos Christi .
እስመ ሀለዉ ሐሳውያን ገበርተ ዐመፃ እለ ይትሜየኑ ወይትሜሰሉ ሐዋርያተ ክርስቶስ ።
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ’s apostles.
11:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐ θαῦμα , αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ σατανᾶς μετασχηματίζεται εἰς ἄγγελον φωτός .
Et non mirum : ipse enim Satanas transfigurat se in angelum lucis .
ወዝኒ አኮ ለአንክሮ እስመ ለሊሁ ሰይጣን ይትሜሰል ከመ መልአከ ብርሃን ።
And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.
11:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ μέγα οὖν εἰ καὶ οἱ διάκονοι αὐτοῦ μετασχηματίζονται ὡς διάκονοι δικαιοσύνης · ὧν τὸ τέλος ἔσται κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν .
Non est ergo magnum , si ministri ejus transfigurentur velut ministri justitiae : quorum finis erit secundum opera ipsorum .
ወዝኒ ኢኮነ ዐቢየ ለእመ ይትሜሰሉ መላእክቲሁኒ ከመ መላእክተ ጽድቅ ወደኃሪቶሙሰ በከመ ምግባሮሙ ።
It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
11:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πάλιν λέγω , μή τίς με δόξῃ ἄφρονα εἶναι · εἰ δὲ μήγε , κἂν ὡς ἄφρονα δέξασθέ με , ἵνα κἀγὼ μικρόν τι καυχήσωμαι .
Iterum dico (ne quis me putet insipientem esse , alioquin velut insipientem accipite me , ut et ego modicum quid glorier ),
ወካዕበ እብል አልቦ ዘይሬስየኒ ከመ አብድ ወእመ አኮሰ ከመ አብድኒ ተወከፉኒ ከመ እትመካሕ አነሂ ኅዳጠ ።
I say again, let no one think me foolish. But if so, yet receive me as foolish, that I also may boast a little.
11:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃ λαλῶ οὐ κατὰ κύριον λαλῶ , ἀλλ’ ὡς ἐν ἀφροσύνῃ , ἐν ταύτῃ τῇ ὑποστάσει τῆς καυχήσεως .
quod loquor , non loquor secundum Deum , sed quasi in insipientia , in hac substantia gloriae .
ወዝኒ አኮ ዘመንገለ እግዚአብሔር ዘእነግር ዳእሙ ከመ አብድ እዘነግዕ በእንተ ዛቲ ትምክሕትየ ።
That which I speak, I don’t speak according to the Lord, but as in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting.
11:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπεὶ πολλοὶ καυχῶνται κατὰ σάρκα , κἀγὼ καυχήσομαι .
Quoniam multi gloriantur secundum carnem : et ego gloriabor .
እስመ ብዙኃን እለ ይትሜክሑ በሕግ ዘሥጋ አነሂ እትሜካሕ ።
Seeing that many boast after the flesh, I will also boast.
11:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡδέως γὰρ ἀνέχεσθε τῶν ἀφρόνων φρόνιμοι ὄντες ·
Libenter enim suffertis insipientes , cum sitis ipsi sapientes .
እመሰ ይኤድመክሙ አጽምዖቶሙ ለአብዳን እንዘ ጠቢባን ወነባብያን አንትሙ ።
For you bear with the foolish gladly, being wise.
11:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀνέχεσθε γὰρ εἴ τις ὑμᾶς καταδουλοῖ , εἴ τις κατεσθίει , εἴ τις λαμβάνει , εἴ τις ἐπαίρεται , εἴ τις εἰς πρόσωπον ὑμᾶς δέρει .
Sustinetis enim si quis vos in servitutem redigit , si quis devorat , si quis accipit , si quis extollitur , si quis in faciem vos caedit .
እስመ ትትዔገሥዎሙ ለእለ ይትዔገሉክሙ ወለእለሂ የሀይዱክሙ ወለእለሂ ይትቤልዑክሙ ወለእለሂ ይትዔበዩ ላዕሌክሙ ወለዘሂ ይጸፍዐክሙ ገጸክሙ ።
For you bear with a man if he brings you into bondage, if he devours you, if he takes you captive, if he exalts himself, or if he strikes you on the face.
11:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ κατὰ ἀτιμίαν λέγω , ὡς ὅτι ἡμεῖς ἠσθενήκαμεν · ἐν ᾧ δ’ ἄν τις τολμᾷ , ἐν ἀφροσύνῃ λέγω , τολμῶ κἀγώ .
Secundum ignobilitatem dico , quasi nos infirmi fuerimus in hac parte . In quo quis audet (in insipientia dico ) audeo et ego :
እብል ዘንተ ከመ ዘያስተሐቅር ከመ ሕሙማኒሁ ንሕነ ለክሙ እብል አነሂ በእበድየ አልቦ ዘይትሀበል ላዕሌየ ዘእንበለ ዳእሙ ዘአነ እትኀበል ላዕሌሁ ።
To my shame, I speak as though we had been weak. Yet in whatever way anyone is bold (I speak in foolishness), I am bold also.
11:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἑβραῖοί εἰσιν ; κἀγώ . Ἰσραηλεῖταί εἰσιν ; κἀγώ . σπέρμα Ἀβραάμ εἰσιν ; κἀγώ .
Hebraei sunt , et ego : Israëlitae sunt , et ego : semen Abrahae sunt , et ego .
እመኒ ዕብራውያን እሙንቱ አነሂ ከማሆሙ ወእመኒ እስራኤላውያን እሙንቱ አነሂ ከማሆሙ ወእመሂ ዘርዐ አብርሃም እሙንቱ አነሂ ከማሆሙ ።
Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the offspring of Abraham? So am I.
11:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ διάκονοι Χριστοῦ εἰσιν ; παραφρονῶν λαλῶ , ὑπὲρ ἐγώ · ἐν κόποις περισσοτέρως , ἐν πληγαῖς περισσοτέρως , ἐν φυλακαῖς ὑπερβαλλόντως , ἐν θανάτοις πολλάκις ·
Ministri Christi sunt (ut minus sapiens dico ), plus ego : in laboribus plurimis , in carceribus abundantius , in plagis supra modum , in mortibus frequenter .
እመኒ ላእኩ ለክርስቶስ እሙንቱ አኮሁ እዘነግዕ ለርእስየ በጻማሂ አፈድፈድኩ ወበተቀሥፎሂ አፈድፈድኩ ወበተሞቅሖሂ አብዛኅኩ ወለሞትኒ ብዙኀ ተደለውኩ ።
Are they servants of Christ? (I speak as one beside himself.) I am more so: in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, and in deaths often.
11:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὑπὸ Ἰουδαίων πεντάκις τεσσεράκοντα παρὰ μίαν ἔλαβον ,
A Judaeis quinquies , quadragenas , una minus , accepi .
ኅምሰ ቀሠፉኒ አይሁድ በበአርብዓ ዘእንበለ አሐቲ ።
Five times I received forty stripes minus one from the Jews.
11:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ τρὶς ἐραβδίσθην , ἅπαξ ἐλιθάσθην , τρὶς ἐναυάγησα , νυχθήμερον ἐν τῷ βυθῷ πεποίηκα ·
Ter virgis caesus sum , semel lapidatus sum : ter naufragium feci , nocte et die in profundo maris fui ,
ሥልሰ ዘበጡኒ በአብትር ምዕረ ወገሩኒ በአእባን ሥልሰ ሰኰየት ሐመርየ ቤትኩ ወወዐልኩ እንዘ እጸብት ውስተ ዕመቀ ባሕር ።
Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I suffered shipwreck. I have been a night and a day in the deep.
11:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁδοιπορίαις πολλάκις , κινδύνοις ποταμῶν , κινδύνοις λῃστῶν , κινδύνοις ἐκ γένους , κινδύνοις ἐξ ἐθνῶν , κινδύνοις ἐν πόλει , κινδύνοις ἐν ἐρημίᾳ , κινδύνοις ἐν θαλάσσῃ , κινδύνοις ἐν ψευδαδέλφοις ,
in itineribus saepe , periculis fluminum , periculis latronum , periculis ex genere , periculis ex gentibus , periculis in civitate , periculis in solitudine , periculis in mari , periculis in falsis fratribus :
ወበመንገድሂ ዘልፈ እትመነደብ ወተመንደብኩ በተከዚኒ አመንደቡኒ ፈያት አመንደቡኒ አዝማድየ አመንደቡኒ አሕዛብ ተመንደብኩ በሀገር ወተመንደብኩ በሐቅል ተመንደብኩ በባሕር አመንደቡኒ ቢጽ ሐሳውያን ።
I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers;
11:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ κόπῳ καὶ μόχθῳ , ἐν ἀγρυπνίαις πολλάκις , ἐν λιμῷ καὶ δίψει , ἐν νηστείαις πολλάκις , ἐν ψύχει καὶ γυμνότητι ·
in labore et aerumna , in vigiliis multis , in fame et siti , in jejuniis multis , in frigore et nuditate ,
በጻማ ወበስራሕ ወበትጋህ ብዙኅ በረኀብ ወበጽምእ በጾም ብዙኅ በቍር ወበዕርቃን ።
in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.
11:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ χωρὶς τῶν παρεκτὸς ἡ ἐπίστασίς μοι ἡ καθ’ ἡμέραν , ἡ μέριμνα πασῶν τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν .
praeter illa quae extrinsecus sunt , instantia mea quotidiana , sollicitudo omnium ecclesiarum .
ወዘእንበለ ዝ ብዙኅ ባዕድ ዘረከበኒ ኵሎ አሚረ እንዘ እኄሊ ቤተ ክርስቲያናት ።
Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses on me daily: anxiety for all the assemblies.
11:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ τίς ἀσθενεῖ , καὶ οὐκ ἀσθενῶ ; τίς σκανδαλίζεται , καὶ οὐκ ἐγὼ πυροῦμαι ;
Quis infirmatur , et ego non infirmor ? quis scandalizatur , et ego non uror ?
መኑ ዘይደዊ ወኢየሐምም አነ ወመኑ ዘይስሕት ወኢይደነግፅ ።
Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I don’t burn with indignation?
11:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ καυχᾶσθαι δεῖ , τὰ τῆς ἀσθενείας μου καυχήσομαι .
Si gloriari oportet , quae infirmitatis meae sunt , gloriabor .
ወእመሰ ይደሉ ተመክሖ አነኒ እትሜካሕ በሕማምየ ።
If I must boast, I will boast of the things that concern my weakness.
11:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ θεὸς καὶ πατὴρ τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ οἶδεν , ὁ ὢν εὐλογητὸς εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας , ὅτι οὐ ψεύδομαι .
Deus et Pater Domini nostri Jesu Christi , qui est benedictus in saecula , scit quod non mentior .
የአምር እግዚአብሔር አቡሁ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ዘውእቱ አምላክ ቡሩክ ለዓለመ ዓለም ከመ ኢይሔሱ ።
The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, he who is blessed forever more, knows that I don’t lie.
11:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν Δαμασκῷ ὁ ἐθνάρχης Ἁρέτα τοῦ βασιλέως ἐφρούρει τὴν πόλιν Δαμασκηνῶν πιάσαι με ,
Damasci praepositus gentis Aretae regis custodiebat civitatem Damascenorum ut me comprehenderet :
በሀገረ ደማስቆ መልአከ አሕዛብ ዘእምታሕተ አርስጣስዮስ ንጉሥ ዐቃቤ ሀገር ደማስቆናዊ ፈቀደ የአኀዘኒ ።
In Damascus the governor under King Aretas guarded the Damascenes’ city, desiring to arrest me.
11:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ διὰ θυρίδος ἐν σαργάνῃ ἐχαλάσθην διὰ τοῦ τείχους καὶ ἐξέφυγον τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ .
et per fenestram in sporta dimissus sum per murum , et sic effugi manus ejus .
ወአውረዱኒ በሰብሳብ እንተ መስኮት እምአረፍት ወአምሠጥኩ እምእዴሁ ።
I was let down in a basket through a window by the wall, and escaped his hands.
