22:1
וַיֵּשְׁב֖וּ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֑ים אֵ֚ין מִלְחָמָ֔ה בֵּ֥ין אֲרָ֖ם וּבֵ֥ין יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐκάθισεν τρία ἔτη καὶ οὐκ ἦν πόλεμος ἀνὰ μέσον Συρίας καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Ισραηλ
Transierunt igitur tres anni absque bello inter Syriam et Israël.
ወነበረ፡ ውስተ፡ ሰማርያ፡ ፫ዓመተ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ፀብአ፡ ማእከለ፡ ሶርያ፡ ወማእከለ፡ እስራኤል።
They continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
22:2
וַיְהִ֖י בַּשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑ית וַיֵּ֛רֶד יְהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֖ה אֶל־מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ τῷ τρίτῳ καὶ κατέβη Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ
In anno autem tertio, descendit Josaphat rex Juda ad regem Israël.
ወእምዝ፡ አመ፡ ፫ዓመት፡ ወረደ፡ ዮሳፍጥ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ኀበ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል።
In the third year, Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
22:3
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־עֲבָדָ֔יו הַיְדַעְתֶּ֕ם כִּי־לָ֖נוּ רָמֹ֣ת גִּלְעָ֑ד וַאֲנַ֣חְנוּ מַחְשִׁ֔ים מִקַּ֣חַת אֹתָ֔הּ מִיַּ֖ד מֶ֥לֶךְ אֲרָֽם׃
καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς τοὺς παῖδας αὐτοῦ εἰ οἴδατε ὅτι ἡμῖν Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ καὶ ἡμεῖς σιωπῶμεν λαβεῖν αὐτὴν ἐκ χειρὸς βασιλέως Συρίας
(Dixitque rex Israël ad servos suos : Ignoratis quod nostra sit Ramoth Galaad, et negligimus tollere eam de manu regis Syriae ?)
ወይቤሎሙ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለደቁ፡ ታአምሩኑ፡ ከመ፡ እንቲአነ፡ ይእቲ፡ ሬማት፡ እንተ፡ ገለዓድ፡ ወናርምም፡ ንሕነሰ፡ ከመ፡ ኢንንሣእ፡ እምእዴሁ፡ ለንጉሠ፡ ሶርያ።
The king of Israel said to his servants, “You know that Ramoth Gilead is ours, and we do nothing, and don’t take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?”
22:4
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־יְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔ט הֲתֵלֵ֥ךְ אִתִּ֛י לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה רָמֹ֣ת גִּלְעָ֑ד וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט֙ אֶל־מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כָּמ֧וֹנִי כָמ֛וֹךָ כְּעַמִּ֥י כְעַמֶּ֖ךָ כְּסוּסַ֥י כְּסוּסֶֽיךָ׃
καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ ἀναβήσῃ μεθ’ ἡμῶν εἰς Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ εἰς πόλεμον καὶ εἶπεν Ιωσαφατ καθὼς ἐγὼ οὕτως καὶ σύ καθὼς ὁ λαός μου ὁ λαός σου καθὼς οἱ ἵπποι μου οἱ ἵπποι σου
Et ait ad Josaphat : Veniesne mecum ad praeliandum in Ramoth Galaad ?
ወይቤሎ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለዮሳፍጥ፡ ተዐርግኑ፡ ምስሌየ፡ ውስተ፡ ሬማት፡ ዘገለዓድ፡ ንጽባእ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ዮሳፍጥ፡ አነኒ፡ ከማከ፡ ወአሕዛብየኒ፡ ከመ፡ አሕዛብከ፡ ወአፍራስየኒ፡ ከመ፡ አፍራሲከ።
He said to Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to battle to Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”
22:5
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט אֶל־מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל דְּרׇשׁ־נָ֥א כַיּ֖וֹם אֶת־דְּבַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ ἐπερωτήσατε δὴ σήμερον τὸν κύριον
Dixitque Josaphat ad regem Israël : Sicut ego sum, ita et tu : populus meus et populus tuus unum sunt : et equites mei, equites tui. Dixitque Josaphat ad regem Israël : Quaere, oro te, hodie sermonem Domini.
ወይቤሎ፡ ዮሳፍጥ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ለንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ተሰኣሉ፡ ለነ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዮም።
Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for Yahweh’s word.”
22:6
וַיִּקְבֹּ֨ץ מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל אֶֽת־הַנְּבִיאִים֮ כְּאַרְבַּ֣ע מֵא֣וֹת אִישׁ֒ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם הַאֵלֵ֞ךְ עַל־רָמֹ֥ת גִּלְעָ֛ד לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה אִם־אֶחְדָּ֑ל וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ עֲלֵ֔ה וְיִתֵּ֥ן אֲדֹנָ֖י בְּיַ֥ד הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
καὶ συνήθροισεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πάντας τοὺς προφήτας ὡς τετρακοσίους ἄνδρας καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ βασιλεύς εἰ πορευθῶ εἰς Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ εἰς πόλεμον ἢ ἐπίσχω καὶ εἶπαν ἀνάβαινε καὶ διδοὺς δώσει κύριος εἰς χεῖρας τοῦ βασιλέως
Congregavit ergo rex Israël prophetas, quadringentos circiter viros, et ait ad eos : Ire debeo in Ramoth Galaad ad bellandum, an quiescere ? Qui responderunt : Ascende, et dabit eam Dominus in manu regis.
ወአስተጋብኦሙ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለኵሎሙ፡ ነቢያት፡ ፬፻ብእሴ፡ ወይቤሎሙ፡ ንጉሥ፡ እሖርኑ፡ እጽባእ፡ ሬማተ፡ ዘገለዓድ፡ አው፡ እኅድግኑ፡ ወይቤልዎ፡ ዕርግ፡ ወያገብኦሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ውስተ፡ እዴከ።
Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Should I go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or should I refrain?” They said, “Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
22:7
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ יְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔ט הַאֵ֨ין פֹּ֥ה נָבִ֛יא לַֽיהֹוָ֖ה ע֑וֹד וְנִדְרְשָׁ֖ה מֵאֹתֽוֹ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ιωσαφατ πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ οὐκ ἔστιν ὧδε προφήτης τοῦ κυρίου καὶ ἐπερωτήσομεν τὸν κύριον δῑ αὐτοῦ
Dixit autem Josaphat : Non est hic propheta Domini quispiam, ut interrogemus per eum ?
ወይቤሎ፡ ዮሳፍጥ፡ ለንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ አልቦኑ፡ ዝየ፡ ነቢየ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወንስአሎ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh, that we may inquire of him?”
22:8
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל׀אֶֽל־יְהוֹשָׁפָ֡ט ע֣וֹד אִישׁ־אֶחָ֡ד לִדְרֹשׁ֩ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֨ה מֵאֹת֜וֹ וַאֲנִ֣י שְׂנֵאתִ֗יו כִּ֠י לֹא־יִתְנַבֵּ֨א עָלַ֥י טוֹב֙ כִּ֣י אִם־רָ֔ע מִיכָ֖יְהוּ בֶּן־יִמְלָ֑ה וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ יְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔ט אַל־יֹאמַ֥ר הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ כֵּֽן׃
καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ ἔτι ἔστιν ἀνὴρ εἷς τοῦ ἐπερωτῆσαι τὸν κύριον δῑ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐγὼ μεμίσηκα αὐτόν ὅτι οὐ λαλεῖ περὶ ἐμοῦ καλά ἀλλ’ ἢ κακά Μιχαιας υἱὸς Ιεμλα καὶ εἶπεν Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα μὴ λεγέτω ὁ βασιλεὺς οὕτως
Et ait rex Israël ad Josaphat : Remansit vir unus per quem possumus interrogare Dominum : sed ego odi eum, quia non prophetat mihi bonum, sed malum : Michaeas filius Jemla. Cui Josaphat ait : Ne loquaris ita, rex.
ወይቤሎ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ሀለወ፡ ፩ብእሲ፡ ዘይሴአልዎ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወባሕቱ፡ ጸላእክዎ፡ አንሰ፡ እስመ፡ ኢይነብብ፡ ሠናየ፡ ላዕሌየ፡ እንበለ፡ እኪት፡ ሚክያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ኢያሚያስ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ዮሳፍጥ፡ ኢትበል፡ ከመዝ፡ ንጉሥ።
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him, for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
22:9
וַיִּקְרָא֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶל־סָרִ֖יס אֶחָ֑ד וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מַהֲרָ֖ה מִיכָ֥יְהוּ בֶן־יִמְלָֽה׃
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ εὐνοῦχον ἕνα καὶ εἶπεν τάχος Μιχαιαν υἱὸν Ιεμλα
Vocavit ergo rex Israël eunuchum quemdam, et dixit ei : Festina adducere Michaeam filium Jemla.
ወጸውዐ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ፩እምውስተ፡ ኅጽዋኒሁ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ሖር፡ አፍጥን፡ ወጸውዖ፡ ለሚክያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ኢያሚያስ።
Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Quickly get Micaiah the son of Imlah.”
22:10
וּמֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל וִיהוֹשָׁפָ֣ט מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֡ה יֹשְׁבִים֩ אִ֨ישׁ עַל־כִּסְא֜וֹ מְלֻבָּשִׁ֤ים בְּגָדִים֙ בְּגֹ֔רֶן פֶּ֖תַח שַׁ֣עַר שֹׁמְר֑וֹן וְכׇ֨ל־הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים מִֽתְנַבְּאִ֖ים לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃
καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα ἐκάθηντο ἀνὴρ ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ ἔνοπλοι ἐν ταῖς πύλαις Σαμαρείας καὶ πάντες οἱ προφῆται ἐπροφήτευον ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν
Rex autem Israël, et Josaphat rex Juda, sedebant unusquisque in solio suo, vestiti cultu regio, in area juxta ostium portae Samariae : et universi prophetae prophetabant in conspectu eorum.
ወይነብሩ፡ ክልኤሆሙ፡ ውስተ፡ መናብርቲሆሙ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወዮሳፍጥ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ውስተ፡ አንቀጸ፡ ሰማርያ፡ ምስለ፡ ንዋየ፡ ሐቅሎሙ፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ ነቢያት፡ ተነበዩ፡ ቅድመ፡ ንጉሥ።
Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
22:11
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ ל֛וֹ צִדְקִיָּ֥ה בֶֽן־כְּנַעֲנָ֖ה קַרְנֵ֣י בַרְזֶ֑ל וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה בְּאֵ֛לֶּה תְּנַגַּ֥ח אֶת־אֲרָ֖ם עַד־כַּלֹּתָֽם׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν ἑαυτῷ Σεδεκιας υἱὸς Χανανα κέρατα σιδηρᾶ καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐν τούτοις κερατιεῖς τὴν Συρίαν ἕως συντελεσθῇ
Fecit quoque sibi Sedecias filius Chanaana cornua ferrea, et ait : Haec dicit Dominus : His ventilabis Syriam, donec deleas eam.
ወገብረ፡ ሎቱ፡ ሴዴቅያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ከሐና፡ አቅርንተ፡ ዘኀጺን፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በዝንቱአ፡ አቅርንትአ፡ ትወግኦሙአ፡ ለሶርያ፡ እስከ፡ ታኀልቆሙአ።
Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made himself horns of iron, and said, “Yahweh says, ‘With these you will push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
22:12
וְכׇ֨ל־הַנְּבִאִ֔ים נִבְּאִ֥ים כֵּ֖ן לֵאמֹ֑ר עֲלֵ֞ה רָמֹ֤ת גִּלְעָד֙ וְהַצְלַ֔ח וְנָתַ֥ן יְהֹוָ֖ה בְּיַ֥ד הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
καὶ πάντες οἱ προφῆται ἐπροφήτευον οὕτως λέγοντες ἀνάβαινε εἰς Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ καὶ εὐοδώσει καὶ δώσει κύριος εἰς χεῖράς σου καὶ τὸν βασιλέα Συρίας
Omnesque prophetae similiter prophetabant, dicentes : Ascende in Ramoth Galaad, et vade prospere, et tradet Dominus in manus regis.
ወኵሎሙ፡ ነቢያት፡ ከመዝ፡ ተነበዩ፡ ወይቤልዎ፡ ዕርግ፡ ውስተ፡ ሬማት፡ ዘገለዓድ፡ ወይረድአከ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወያገብኦሙ፡ ለሶርያ፡ ውስተ፡ እዴከ፡ ወለንጉሦሙ።
All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
22:13
וְהַמַּלְאָ֞ךְ אֲשֶׁר־הָלַ֣ךְ׀ לִקְרֹ֣א מִיכָ֗יְהוּ דִּבֶּ֤ר אֵלָיו֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הִנֵּה־נָ֞א דִּבְרֵ֧י הַנְּבִיאִ֛ים פֶּה־אֶחָ֥ד ט֖וֹב אֶל־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ יְהִי־נָ֣א (דבריך) [דְבָרְךָ֗] כִּדְבַ֛ר אַחַ֥ד מֵהֶ֖ם וְדִבַּ֥רְתָּ טּֽוֹב׃
καὶ ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ πορευθεὶς καλέσαι τὸν Μιχαιαν ἐλάλησεν αὐτῷ λέγων ἰδοὺ δὴ λαλοῦσιν πάντες οἱ προφῆται ἐν στόματι ἑνὶ καλὰ περὶ τοῦ βασιλέως γίνου δὴ καὶ σὺ εἰς λόγους σου κατὰ τοὺς λόγους ἑνὸς τούτων καὶ λάλησον καλά
Nuntius vero qui ierat ut vocaret Michaeam, locutus est ad eum, dicens : Ecce sermones prophetarum ore uno regi bona praedicant : sit ergo sermo tuus similis eorum, et loquere bona.
ወወዓሊ፡ ዘሖረ፡ ይጸውዖ፡ ለሚክያስ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ናሁ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ነቢያት፡ ተነበዩ፡ ሠናየ፡ ለንጉሥ፡ በ፩አፍ፡ ወአንተኒ፡ ኩን፡ ከመ፡ አሐዱ፡ እምኔሆሙ፡ ወአኅብር፡ በቃሎሙ፡ ወንብብ፡ ሠናየ።
The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “See now, the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak good.”
22:14
וַיֹּ֖אמֶר מִיכָ֑יְהוּ חַי־יְהֹוָ֕ה כִּ֠י אֶת־אֲשֶׁ֨ר יֹאמַ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֵלַ֖י אֹת֥וֹ אֲדַבֵּֽר׃
καὶ εἶπεν Μιχαιας ζῇ κύριος ὅτι ἃ ἂν εἴπῃ κύριος πρός με ταῦτα λαλήσω
Cui Michaeas ait : Vivit Dominus, quia quodcumque dixerit mihi Dominus, hoc loquar.
ወይቤሎ፡ ምኪያስ፡ ሕያው፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ዘነገረኒ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እነግርሙ።
Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I will speak.”
22:15
וַיָּבוֹא֮ אֶל־הַמֶּ֒לֶךְ֒ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֵלָ֗יו מִיכָ֙יְהוּ֙ הֲנֵלֵ֞ךְ אֶל־רָמֹ֥ת גִּלְעָ֛ד לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה אִם־נֶחְדָּ֑ל וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ עֲלֵ֣ה וְהַצְלַ֔ח וְנָתַ֥ן יְהֹוָ֖ה בְּיַ֥ד הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
καὶ ἦλθεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ βασιλεύς Μιχαια εἰ ἀναβῶ εἰς Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ εἰς πόλεμον ἢ ἐπίσχω καὶ εἶπεν ἀνάβαινε καὶ εὐοδώσει καὶ δώσει κύριος εἰς χεῖρα τοῦ βασιλέως
Venit itaque ad regem, et ait illi rex : Michaea, ire debemus in Ramoth Galaad ad praeliandum, an cessare ? Cui ille respondit : Ascende, et vade prospere, et tradet eam Dominus in manus regis.
ወበጽሐ፡ ኀበ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ሚክያስ፡ እዕርግኑ፡ ውስተ፡ ሬማት፡ ዘገለዓድ፡ እጽብኦሙ፡ አው፡ ኢይጽብኦሙ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ዕርግ፡ ወይረድአከ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall we forbear?” He answered him, “Go up and prosper; and Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
22:16
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ עַד־כַּמֶּ֥ה פְעָמִ֖ים אֲנִ֣י מַשְׁבִּיעֶ֑ךָ אֲ֠שֶׁ֠ר לֹֽא־תְדַבֵּ֥ר אֵלַ֛י רַק־אֱמֶ֖ת בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ βασιλεύς ποσάκις ἐγὼ ὁρκίζω σε ὅπως λαλήσῃς πρός με ἀλήθειαν ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου
Dixit autem rex ad eum : Iterum atque iterum adjuro te, ut non loquaris mihi nisi quod verum est, in nomine Domini.
ወይቤሎ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ሚመጠነ፡ ኣምሕለከ፡ ከመ፡ ትንግረኒ፡ ጽድቀ፡ በስሙ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር።
The king said to him, “How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”
22:17
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר רָאִ֤יתִי אֶת־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ נְפֹצִ֣ים אֶל־הֶהָרִ֔ים כַּצֹּ֕אן אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֵין־לָהֶ֖ם רֹעֶ֑ה וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ לֹֽא־אֲדֹנִ֣ים לָאֵ֔לֶּה יָשׁ֥וּבוּ אִישׁ־לְבֵית֖וֹ בְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃
καὶ εἶπεν Μιχαιας οὐχ οὕτως ἑώρακα πάντα τὸν Ισραηλ διεσπαρμένον ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν ὡς ποίμνιον ᾧ οὐκ ἔστιν ποιμήν καὶ εἶπεν κύριος οὐ κύριος τούτοις ἀναστρεφέτω ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ ἐν εἰρήνῃ
Et ille ait : Vidi cunctum Israël dispersum in montibus, quasi oves non habentes pastorem. Et ait Dominus : Non habent isti dominum : revertatur unusquisque in domum suam in pace.
ወይቤ፡ ሚክያስ፡ ከመዝ፡ ርኢክዎ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ዝርዋን፡ ውስተ፡ አድበር፡ ከመ፡ መርዔት፡ እንተ፡ አልባቲ፡ ኖላዌ፡ ወይቤ፡ እእግዚአብሔር፡ አምላኮሙ፡ ለእሉ፡ ግብኡአ፡ ኵልክሙአ፡ ወእትዉ፡ ውስተ፡ አብያቲክሙ፡ በሰላምአ።
He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’”
22:18
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל־יְהוֹשָׁפָ֑ט הֲלוֹא֙ אָמַ֣רְתִּי אֵלֶ֔יךָ לוֹא־יִתְנַבֵּ֥א עָלַ֛י ט֖וֹב כִּ֥י אִם־רָֽע׃ {ס}
καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ βασιλέα Ιουδα οὐκ εἶπα πρὸς σέ οὐ προφητεύει οὗτός μοι καλά διότι ἀλλ’ ἢ κακά
(Dixit ergo rex Israël ad Josaphat : Numquid non dixi tibi, quia non prophetat mihi bonum, sed semper malum ?)
ወይቤ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለዮሳፍጥ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ኢይቤለከኑ፡ ኢይትኔበይ፡ ላዕሌየ፡ ሠናያተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ እኪት።
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
22:19
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר לָכֵ֖ן שְׁמַ֣ע דְּבַר־יְהֹוָ֑ה רָאִ֤יתִי אֶת־יְהֹוָה֙ יֹשֵׁ֣ב עַל־כִּסְא֔וֹ וְכׇל־צְבָ֤א הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ עֹמֵ֣ד עָלָ֔יו מִֽימִינ֖וֹ וּמִשְּׂמֹאלֽוֹ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Μιχαιας οὐχ οὕτως οὐκ ἐγώ ἄκουε ῥῆμα κυρίου οὐχ οὕτως εἶδον τὸν κύριον θεὸν Ισραηλ καθήμενον ἐπὶ θρόνου αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ στρατιὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ εἱστήκει περὶ αὐτὸν ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξ εὐωνύμων αὐτοῦ
Ille vero addens, ait : Propterea audi sermonem Domini : vidi Dominum sedentem super solium suum, et omnem exercitum caeli assistentem ei a dextris et a sinistris :
ወይቤሎ፡ ሚክያስ፡ አኮ፡ ከማሁ፡ አኮኑ፡ አነ፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘሰማዕኩ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አኮ፡ ከማሁ ፤ ርኢክዎ፡ ለአምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ እንዘ፡ ይነብር፡ ዲበ፡ መንበሩ፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ መላእክተ፡ ሰማይ፡ ይቀውሙ፡ እምየማኑ፡ ወእምፀጋሙ።
Micaiah said, “Therefore hear Yahweh’s word. I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
22:20
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָ֗ה מִ֤י יְפַתֶּה֙ אֶת־אַחְאָ֔ב וְיַ֕עַל וְיִפֹּ֖ל בְּרָמֹ֣ת גִּלְעָ֑ד וַיֹּ֤אמֶר זֶה֙ בְּכֹ֔ה וְזֶ֥ה אֹמֵ֖ר בְּכֹֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος τίς ἀπατήσει τὸν Αχααβ βασιλέα Ισραηλ καὶ ἀναβήσεται καὶ πεσεῖται ἐν Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ καὶ εἶπεν οὗτος οὕτως καὶ οὗτος οὕτως
et ait Dominus : Quis decipiet Achab regem Israël, ut ascendat, et cadat in Ramoth Galaad ? Et dixit unus verba hujuscemodi, et alius aliter.
ወይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ መኑ፡ ያስሕቶ፡ ለአካአብ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ ይሙት፡ ዐሪጎ፡ ሬማተ፡ ዘገለዓድ፡ ወተባሀሉ፡ በበይናቲሆሙ፡ አንተ፡ ወአንተ።
Yahweh said, ‘Who will entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One said one thing, and another said another.
22:21
וַיֵּצֵ֣א הָר֗וּחַ וַֽיַּעֲמֹד֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֲנִ֣י אֲפַתֶּ֑נּוּ וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֵלָ֖יו בַּמָּֽה׃
καὶ ἐξῆλθεν πνεῦμα καὶ ἔστη ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ εἶπεν ἐγὼ ἀπατήσω αὐτόν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν κύριος ἐν τίνι
Egressus est autem spiritus, et stetit coram Domino, et ait : Ego decipiam illum. Cui locutus est Dominus : In quo ?
ወእምዝ፡ ወፅአ፡ መንፈስ፡ ወቆመ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይቤ፡ አነ፡ ኣስሕቶ።
A spirit came out and stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’
22:22
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אֵצֵא֙ וְהָיִ֙יתִי֙ ר֣וּחַ שֶׁ֔קֶר בְּפִ֖י כׇּל־נְבִיאָ֑יו וַיֹּ֗אמֶר תְּפַתֶּה֙ וְגַם־תּוּכָ֔ל צֵ֖א וַעֲשֵׂה־כֵֽן׃
καὶ εἶπεν ἐξελεύσομαι καὶ ἔσομαι πνεῦμα ψευδὲς ἐν στόματι πάντων τῶν προφητῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν ἀπατήσεις καί γε δυνήσει ἔξελθε καὶ ποίησον οὕτως
Et ille ait : Egrediar, et ero spiritus mendax in ore omnium prophetarum ejus. Et dixit Dominus : Decipies, et praevalebis : egredere, et fac ita.
ወይቤሎ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በምንት፡ ታስሕቶ፡ ወይቤ፡ አሐውር፡ ወእከውኖሙ፡ መንፈሰ፡ ሐሰት፡ ውስተ፡ አፉሆሙ፡ ለነቢያቲሁ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ታስሕቶ፡ ትክል፡ አስሕቶቶ፡ ሖር፡ ወግበር፡ ወገብረ፡ ከማሁ።
Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’ He said, ‘I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ He said, ‘You will entice him, and will also prevail. Go out and do so.’
22:23
וְעַתָּ֗ה הִנֵּ֨ה נָתַ֤ן יְהֹוָה֙ ר֣וּחַ שֶׁ֔קֶר בְּפִ֖י כׇּל־נְבִיאֶ֣יךָ אֵ֑לֶּה וַֽיהֹוָ֔ה דִּבֶּ֥ר עָלֶ֖יךָ רָעָֽה׃
καὶ νῦν ἰδοὺ ἔδωκεν κύριος πνεῦμα ψευδὲς ἐν στόματι πάντων τῶν προφητῶν σου τούτων καὶ κύριος ἐλάλησεν ἐπὶ σὲ κακά
Nunc igitur ecce dedit Dominus spiritum mendacii in ore omnium prophetarum tuorum, qui hic sunt, et Dominus locutus est contra te malum.
ወይእዜኒ፡ ናሁ፡ ፈነወ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ መንፈሰ፡ ሐሰት፡ ውስተ፡ አፉሆሙ፡ ለነቢያቲከ፡ እሉ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር፡ እኪተ፡ ነበበ፡ ላዕሌከ።
Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”
22:24
וַיִּגַּשׁ֙ צִדְקִיָּ֣הוּ בֶֽן־כְּנַעֲנָ֔ה וַיַּכֶּ֥ה אֶת־מִיכָ֖יְהוּ עַל־הַלֶּ֑חִי וַיֹּ֕אמֶר אֵי־זֶ֨ה עָבַ֧ר רֽוּחַ־יְהֹוָ֛ה מֵאִתִּ֖י לְדַבֵּ֥ר אוֹתָֽךְ׃
καὶ προσῆλθεν Σεδεκιου υἱὸς Χανανα καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν Μιχαιαν ἐπὶ τὴν σιαγόνα καὶ εἶπεν ποῖον πνεῦμα κυρίου τὸ λαλῆσαν ἐν σοί
Accessit autem Sedecias filius Chanaana, et percussit Michaeam in maxillam, et dixit : Mene ergo dimisit spiritus Domini, et locutus est tibi ?
ወመጽአ፡ ሴዴቅያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ከናአን፡ ወጸፍዖ፡ ውስተ፡ መልታሕቱ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ አይኑ፡ ውእቱ፡ መንፈሰ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘተናገረከ።
Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did Yahweh’s Spirit go from me to speak to you?”
22:25
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מִיכָ֔יְהוּ הִנְּךָ֥ רֹאֶ֖ה בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא אֲשֶׁ֥ר תָּבֹ֛א חֶ֥דֶר בְּחֶ֖דֶר לְהֵחָבֵֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν Μιχαιας ἰδοὺ σὺ ὄψῃ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ὅταν εἰσέλθῃς ταμίειον τοῦ ταμιείου τοῦ κρυβῆναι
Et ait Michaeas : Visurus es in die illa quando ingredieris cubiculum intra cubiculum ut abscondaris.
ወይቤሎ፡ ሚክያስ፡ ሀለወከ፡ ታእምር፡ [አ]መ፡ ትበውእ፡ ውስተ፡ ውሳጢተ፡ ውሳጢት፡ ወትትኀበእ።
Micaiah said, “Behold, you will see on that day when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
22:26
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל קַ֚ח אֶת־מִיכָ֔יְהוּ וַהֲשִׁיבֵ֖הוּ אֶל־אָמֹ֣ן שַׂר־הָעִ֑יר וְאֶל־יוֹאָ֖שׁ בֶּן־הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ λάβετε τὸν Μιχαιαν καὶ ἀποστρέψατε αὐτὸν πρὸς Εμηρ τὸν ἄρχοντα τῆς πόλεως καὶ τῷ Ιωας υἱῷ τοῦ βασιλέως
Et ait rex Israël : Tollite Michaeam, et maneat apud Amon principem civitatis, et apud Joas filium Amelech,
ወይቤ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ንሥእዎ፡ ለሚክያስ፡ ወሰድዎ፡ ኀበ፡ አሞን፡ መልአከ፡ ሀገረ፡ ሰማርያ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ለኢዮአስ፡ ወልደ፡ ንጉሥ ፤
The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king’s son.
22:27
וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ שִׂ֥ימוּ אֶת־זֶ֖ה בֵּ֣ית הַכֶּ֑לֶא וְהַאֲכִלֻ֜הוּ לֶ֤חֶם לַ֙חַץ֙ וּמַ֣יִם לַ֔חַץ עַ֖ד בֹּאִ֥י בְשָׁלֽוֹם׃
εἰπὸν θέσθαι τοῦτον ἐν φυλακῇ καὶ ἐσθίειν αὐτὸν ἄρτον θλίψεως καὶ ὕδωρ θλίψεως ἕως τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι με ἐν εἰρήνῃ
et dicite eis : Haec dicit rex : Mittite virum istum in carcerem, et sustentate eum pane tribulationis, et aqua angustiae, donec revertar in pace.
ሞቅሕዎ፡ ለዝንቱ፡ ወአርኅብዎ፡ ወአጽምእዎ፡ እስከ፡ አመ፡ አአቱ፡ በሰላም።
Say, ‘The king says, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.”’”
22:28
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מִיכָ֔יְהוּ אִם־שׁ֤וֹב תָּשׁוּב֙ בְּשָׁל֔וֹם לֹא־דִבֶּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה בִּ֑י וַיֹּ֕אמֶר שִׁמְע֖וּ עַמִּ֥ים כֻּלָּֽם׃
καὶ εἶπεν Μιχαιας ἐὰν ἐπιστρέφων ἐπιστρέψῃς ἐν εἰρήνῃ οὐκ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐν ἐμοί
Dixitque Michaeas : Si reversus fueris in pace, non est locutus in me Dominus. Et ait : Audite, populi omnes.
ወይቤሎ፡ ሚክያስ፡ ለእመ፡ አቶከ፡ አንተ፡ ወቦእከ፡ በሰላም፡ ኢተናገረኒ፡ ሊተ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, all you people!”
22:29
וַיַּ֧עַל מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל וִיהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֖ה רָמֹ֥ת גִּלְעָֽד׃
καὶ ἀνέβη βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα μετ’ αὐτοῦ εἰς Ρεμμαθ Γαλααδ
Ascendit itaque rex Israël, et Josaphat rex Juda, in Ramoth Galaad.
ወዐርገ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወዮሳፍጥ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ውስተ፡ ሬማት፡ ዘገለዓድ።
So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
22:30
וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ מֶ֨לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל אֶל־יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט הִתְחַפֵּשׂ֙ וָבֹ֣א בַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה וְאַתָּ֖ה לְבַ֣שׁ בְּגָדֶ֑יךָ וַיִּתְחַפֵּשׂ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיָּב֖וֹא בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ βασιλέα Ιουδα συγκαλύψομαι καὶ εἰσελεύσομαι εἰς τὸν πόλεμον καὶ σὺ ἔνδυσαι τὸν ἱματισμόν μου καὶ συνεκαλύψατο ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν πόλεμον
Dixit itaque rex Israël ad Josaphat : Sume arma, et ingredere praelium, et induere vestibus tuis. Porro rex Israël mutavit habitum suum, et ingressus est bellum.
ወይቤለሙ፡ [ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለዮሳፍጥ፡] ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ እትገ[ል]በብ፡ ወእባእ፡ እትቃተል፡ ወአንተ፡ ልበስ፡ አልባስየ፡ ወተገልበበ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወቦአ፡ ይትቃተል።
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and go into the battle, but you put on your robes.” The king of Israel disguised himself and went into the battle.
22:31
וּמֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָ֡ם צִוָּ֣ה אֶת־שָׂרֵי֩ הָרֶ֨כֶב אֲשֶׁר־ל֜וֹ שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֚א תִּלָּ֣חֲמ֔וּ אֶת־קָטֹ֖ן וְאֶת־גָּד֑וֹל כִּ֛י אִֽם־אֶת־מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְבַדּֽוֹ׃
καὶ βασιλεὺς Συρίας ἐνετείλατο τοῖς ἄρχουσι τῶν ἁρμάτων αὐτοῦ τριάκοντα καὶ δυσὶν λέγων μὴ πολεμεῖτε μικρὸν καὶ μέγαν ἀλλ’ ἢ τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ μονώτατον
Rex autem Syriae praeceperat principibus curruum triginta duobus, dicens : Non pugnabitis contra minorem et majorem quempiam, nisi contra regem Israël solum.
ወአዘዞሙ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ሶርያ፡ ለመላእክተ፡ ሰረገላቲሁ፡ ፴ወ፪ወይቤሎሙ፡ ኢትትቃተሉ፡ ኢምስለ፡ ንኡሶሙ፡ ወኢምስለ፡ ዐቢዮሙ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለባሕቲቱ።
Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, “Don’t fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”
22:32
וַיְהִ֡י כִּרְאוֹת֩ שָׂרֵ֨י הָרֶ֜כֶב אֶת־יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט וְהֵ֤מָּה אָֽמְרוּ֙ אַ֣ךְ מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ה֔וּא וַיָּסֻ֥רוּ עָלָ֖יו לְהִלָּחֵ֑ם וַיִּזְעַ֖ק יְהוֹשָׁפָֽט׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἶδον οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν ἁρμάτων τὸν Ιωσαφατ βασιλέα Ιουδα καὶ αὐτοὶ εἶπον φαίνεται βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ οὗτος καὶ ἐκύκλωσαν αὐτὸν πολεμῆσαι καὶ ἀνέκραξεν Ιωσαφατ
Cum ergo vidissent principes curruum Josaphat, suspicati sunt quod ipse esset rex Israël, et impetu facto pugnabant contra eum : et exclamavit Josaphat.
ሶበ፡ ርእይዎ፡ እልክቱ፡ መላእክተ፡ ሰረገላቲሁ፡ ለዮሳፍዊ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወይቤሉ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ይመስል፡ ዝንቱ፡ ወፀገትዎ፡ ይቅትልዎ፡ ወጸርኀ፡ ዮሳፍጥ።
When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “Surely that is the king of Israel!” and they came over to fight against him. Jehoshaphat cried out.
22:33
וַיְהִ֗י כִּרְאוֹת֙ שָׂרֵ֣י הָרֶ֔כֶב כִּי־לֹא־מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל ה֑וּא וַיָּשׁ֖וּבוּ מֵאַחֲרָֽיו׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἶδον οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν ἁρμάτων ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ οὗτος καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ
Intellexeruntque principes curruum quod non esset rex Israël, et cessaverunt ab eo.
ወሶበ፡ አእመሩ፡ መላእክተ፡ ሰረገላቲሁ፡ ከመ፡ ኢኮነ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ውእቱ፡ ኀደግዎ፡ ወገብኡ።
When the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.
22:34
וְאִ֗ישׁ מָשַׁ֤ךְ בַּקֶּ֙שֶׁת֙ לְתֻמּ֔וֹ וַיַּכֶּה֙ אֶת־מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בֵּ֥ין הַדְּבָקִ֖ים וּבֵ֣ין הַשִּׁרְיָ֑ן וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְרַכָּב֗וֹ הֲפֹ֥ךְ יָדְךָ֛ וְהוֹצִיאֵ֥נִי מִן־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה כִּ֥י הׇחֳלֵֽיתִי׃
καὶ ἐνέτεινεν εἷς τὸ τόξον εὐστόχως καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ πνεύμονος καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ θώρακος καὶ εἶπεν τῷ ἡνιόχῳ αὐτοῦ ἐπίστρεψον τὰς χεῖράς σου καὶ ἐξάγαγέ με ἐκ τοῦ πολέμου ὅτι τέτρωμαι
Vir autem quidam tetendit arcum, in incertum sagittam dirigens, et casu percussit regem Israël inter pulmonem et stomachum. At ille dixit aurigae suo : Verte manum tuam, et ejice me de exercitu, quia graviter vulneratus sum.
ወመሰከ፡ ቀስቶ፡ ፩እምውስቴቶሙ፡ በኀይሉ፡ ወነደፎ፡ ለንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ማእከለ፡ ሰንቡዑ፡ ማእከለ፡ እንግድዓሁ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ለ፩እምውስተ፡ ሐራሁ፡ ተመየጥ፡ ወንሥአኒ፡ አውፅአኒ፡ እምውስተ፡ ቀትል፡ እስመ፡ ተነደፍኩ።
A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around, and carry me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”
22:35
וַתַּעֲלֶ֤ה הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא וְהַמֶּ֗לֶךְ הָיָ֧ה מׇעֳמָ֛ד בַּמֶּרְכָּבָ֖ה נֹ֣כַח אֲרָ֑ם וַיָּ֣מׇת בָּעֶ֔רֶב וַיִּ֥צֶק דַּֽם־הַמַּכָּ֖ה אֶל־חֵ֥יק הָרָֽכֶב׃
καὶ ἐτροπώθη ὁ πόλεμος ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἦν ἑστηκὼς ἐπὶ τοῦ ἅρματος ἐξ ἐναντίας Συρίας ἀπὸ πρωὶ ἕως ἑσπέρας καὶ ἀπέχυννε τὸ αἷμα ἐκ τῆς πληγῆς εἰς τὸν κόλπον τοῦ ἅρματος καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἑσπέρας καὶ ἐξεπορεύετο τὸ αἷμα τῆς τροπῆς ἕως τοῦ κόλπου τοῦ ἅρματος
Commissum est ergo praelium in die illa, et rex Israël stabat in curru suo contra Syros, et mortuus est vespere : fluebat autem sanguis plagae in sinum currus,
ወተሰብረ፡ ሰራዊቶሙ፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ወለንጉሥሰ፡ አንበርዎ፡ ውስተ፡ ሰረገላሁ፡ እምነግህ፡ እስከ፡ ሰርክ፡ ወይትከዐው፡ ደሙ፡ እምውስተ፡ ቍስለ፡ ንድፈቱ፡ ውስተ፡ ከርሠ፡ ሰረገላቲሁ፡ ወሞተ፡ ፍና፡ ሰርክ፡ በቅድሜሆሙ፡ ለሶርያ።
The battle increased that day. The king was propped up in his chariot facing the Syrians, and died at evening. The blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.
22:36
וַיַּעֲבֹ֤ר הָֽרִנָּה֙ בַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה כְּבֹ֥א הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ לֵאמֹ֑ר אִ֥ישׁ אֶל־עִיר֖וֹ וְאִ֥ישׁ אֶל־אַרְצֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἔστη ὁ στρατοκῆρυξ δύνοντος τοῦ ἡλίου λέγων ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν ἑαυτοῦ πόλιν καὶ εἰς τὴν ἑαυτοῦ γῆν
et praeco insonuit in universo exercitu antequam sol occumberet, dicens : Unusquisque revertatur in civitatem, et in terram suam.
ወወፅአ፡ ዐዋዲ፡ ዕርበተ፡ ፀሓይ፡ ወዖደ፡ ዐዋዲ፡ ወይቤ፡ እተዉአ፡ ኵልክሙአ፡ አህጉሪክሙአ፡ ወእተዉአ፡ በሓውርቲክሙአ፡ እስመአ፡ ሞተአ፡ ንጉሥአ።
A cry went throughout the army about the going down of the sun, saying, “Every man to his city, and every man to his country!”
22:37
וַיָּ֣מׇת הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיָּב֖וֹא שֹׁמְר֑וֹן וַיִּקְבְּר֥וּ אֶת־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ בְּשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃
ὅτι τέθνηκεν ὁ βασιλεύς καὶ ἦλθον εἰς Σαμάρειαν καὶ ἔθαψαν τὸν βασιλέα ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ
Mortuus est autem rex, et perlatus est in Samariam : sepelieruntque regem in Samaria,
ወሶበ፡ በጽሑ፡ ሰማርያ፡ ቀበርዎ፡ ለንጉሥ፡ ውስተ፡ ሰማርያ።
So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
22:38
וַיִּשְׁטֹ֨ף אֶת־הָרֶ֜כֶב עַ֣ל׀ בְּרֵכַ֣ת שֹׁמְר֗וֹן וַיָּלֹ֤קּוּ הַכְּלָבִים֙ אֶת־דָּמ֔וֹ וְהַזֹּנ֖וֹת רָחָ֑צוּ כִּדְבַ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽר׃
καὶ ἀπένιψαν τὸ ἅρμα ἐπὶ τὴν κρήνην Σαμαρείας καὶ ἐξέλειξαν αἱ ὕες καὶ οἱ κύνες τὸ αἷμα καὶ αἱ πόρναι ἐλούσαντο ἐν τῷ αἵματι κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου ὃ ἐλάλησεν
et laverunt currum ejus in piscina Samariae : et linxerunt canes sanguinem ejus, et habenas laverunt, juxta verbum Domini quod locutus fuerat.
ወአውፅኡ፡ ሰረገላቲሁ፡ አፍአ፡ እምሀገረ፡ ሰማርያ፡ ወለሐሱ፡ ደሞ፡ ከለባት፡ ወአዝእብት፡ ወዘማትኒ፡ ተኀፅባ፡ በውእቱ፡ ማይ፡ በከመ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘነበበ።
They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood where the prostitutes washed themselves, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke.
22:39
וְיֶ֩תֶר֩ דִּבְרֵ֨י אַחְאָ֜ב וְכׇל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֗ה וּבֵ֤ית הַשֵּׁן֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנָ֔ה וְכׇל־הֶעָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנָ֑ה הֲלוֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Αχααβ καὶ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν καὶ οἶκον ἐλεφάντινον ὃν ᾠκοδόμησεν καὶ πάσας τὰς πόλεις ἃς ἐποίησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γέγραπται ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ
Reliqua autem sermonum Achab, et universa quae fecit, et domus eburnea quam aedificavit, cunctarumque urbium quas exstruxit, nonne haec scripta sunt in libro sermonum dierum regum Israël ?
ወኵሉ፡ ነገሩ፡ ለአካአብ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ወቤተኒ፡ ዘቀርነ፡ ነጌ፡ ዘሐነጸ፡ ናሁ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘጽሑፍ፡ ውስተ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ነቢያቲሁ፡ በመዋዕሊሆሙ፡ ለነገሥቶሙ፡ ለእስራኤል።
Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
22:40
וַיִּשְׁכַּ֥ב אַחְאָ֖ב עִם־אֲבֹתָ֑יו וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אֲחַזְיָ֥הוּ בְנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Αχααβ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Οχοζιας υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ
Dormivit ergo Achab cum patribus suis, et regnavit Ochozias filius ejus pro eo.
ወሰከበ፡ አካአብ፡ ምስለ፡ አበዊሁ፡ ወነግሠ፡ አካዝያስ፡ ወልዱ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፤
So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
22:41
וִיהֽוֹשָׁפָט֙ בֶּן־אָסָ֔א מָלַ֖ךְ עַל־יְהוּדָ֑ה בִּשְׁנַ֣ת אַרְבַּ֔ע לְאַחְאָ֖ב מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ Ιωσαφατ υἱὸς Ασα ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ Ιουδα ἔτει τετάρτῳ τῷ Αχααβ βασιλέως Ισραηλ ἐβασίλευσεν
Josaphat vero filius Asa regnare coeperat super Judam anno quarto Achab regis Israël.
ወዮሳፍጥ፡ ወልደ፡ አሳ፡ ለይሁዳ ፤ አመ፡ ፬ዓመተ፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለአካአብ፡ ነግሠ፡ ዮሳፍጥ፡ ወልደ፡ አሳ ፤
Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
22:42
יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט בֶּן־שְׁלֹשִׁ֨ים וְחָמֵ֤שׁ שָׁנָה֙ בְּמׇלְכ֔וֹ וְעֶשְׂרִ֤ים וְחָמֵשׁ֙ שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ עֲזוּבָ֖ה בַּת־שִׁלְחִֽי׃
Ιωσαφατ υἱὸς τριάκοντα καὶ πέντε ἐτῶν ἐν τῷ βασιλεύειν αὐτὸν καὶ εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ Αζουβα θυγάτηρ Σελεϊ
Triginta quinque annorum erat cum regnare coepisset, et viginti quinque annis regnavit in Jerusalem : nomen matris ejus Azuba filia Salai.
፴ወ፭ዓመ[ቱ፡ በ]መንግሥቱ ፤ ፳ወ፭ዓመተ፡ ነግሠ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወስማ፡ ለእሙ፡ ሐዜባ፡ ወለተ፡ ሴሜይ።
Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
22:43
וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ בְּכׇל־דֶּ֛רֶךְ אָסָ֥א אָבִ֖יו לֹא־סָ֣ר מִמֶּ֑נּוּ לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת הַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν πάσῃ ὁδῷ Ασα τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν ἀπ’ αὐτῆς τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου
Et ambulavit in omni via Asa patris sui, et non declinavit ex ea : fecitque quod rectum erat in conspectu Domini.
ወሖረ፡ በፍኖተ፡ አሳ፡ አቡሁ፡ ወኢተግሕሠ፡ እምኔሃ፡ ወገብረ፡ ጽድቀ፡ ቅድመ፡ አዕይንቲሁ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር።
He walked in all the way of Asa his father. He didn’t turn away from it, doing that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes. However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
22:44
אַ֥ךְ הַבָּמ֖וֹת לֹא־סָ֑רוּ ע֥וֹד הָעָ֛ם מְזַבְּחִ֥ים וּֽמְקַטְּרִ֖ים בַּבָּמֽוֹת׃
πλὴν τῶν ὑψηλῶν οὐκ ἐξῆρεν ἔτι ὁ λαὸς ἐθυσίαζεν καὶ ἐθυμίων ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς
Verumtamen excelsa non abstulit : adhuc enim populus sacrificabat, et adolebat incensum in excelsis.
ወባሕቱ፡ ኢአሰሰለ፡ አብያተ፡ አማልከቲሆመ ፤ ዓዲሆሙ፡ የዐጥኑ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ወይሠውዑ፡ በውስተ፡ አድባር።
Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
22:45
וַיַּשְׁלֵ֥ם יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט עִם־מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ εἰρήνευσεν Ιωσαφατ μετὰ βασιλέως Ισραηλ
Pacemque habuit Josaphat cum rege Israël.
ወተሰናአወ፡ ዮሳፍጥ፡ ምስለ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል።

22:46
וְיֶ֨תֶר דִּבְרֵ֧י יְהוֹשָׁפָ֛ט וּגְבוּרָת֥וֹ אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֖ה וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר נִלְחָ֑ם הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ιωσαφατ καὶ αἱ δυναστεῖαι αὐτοῦ ὅσα ἐποίησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ιουδα
Reliqua autem verborum Josaphat, et opera ejus quae gessit, et praelia, nonne haec scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Juda ?
ወኵሉ፡ ነገሩ፡ ለዮሳፍጥ፡ ወኀይሉ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ናሁ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘጽሑፍ፡ ውስተ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ነቢያት።
The remnant of the sodomites, that remained in the days of his father Asa, he put away out of the land.
22:47
וְיֶ֙תֶר֙ הַקָּדֵ֔שׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִשְׁאַ֔ר בִּימֵ֖י אָסָ֣א אָבִ֑יו בִּעֵ֖ר מִן־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

Sed et reliquias effeminatorum qui remanserant in diebus Asa patris ejus, abstulit de terra.
—
There was no king in Edom. A deputy ruled.
22:48
וּמֶ֥לֶךְ אֵ֛ין בֶּאֱד֖וֹם נִצָּ֥ב מֶֽלֶךְ׃

Nec erat tunc rex constitutus in Edom.

Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold, but they didn’t go, for the ships wrecked at Ezion Geber.
22:49
יְהוֹשָׁפָ֡ט (עשר) [עָשָׂה֩] אֳנִיּ֨וֹת תַּרְשִׁ֜ישׁ לָלֶ֧כֶת אֹפִ֛ירָה לַזָּהָ֖ב וְלֹ֣א הָלָ֑ךְ כִּֽי־[נִשְׁבְּר֥וּ] (נשברה) אֳנִיּ֖וֹת בְּעֶצְי֥וֹן גָּֽבֶר׃
—
Rex vero Josaphat fecerat classes in mari, quae navigarent in Ophir propter aurum : et ire non potuerunt, quia confractae sunt in Asiongaber.

Then Ahaziah the son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, “Let my servants go with your servants in the ships.” But Jehoshaphat would not.
22:50
אָ֠ז אָמַ֞ר אֲחַזְיָ֤הוּ בֶן־אַחְאָב֙ אֶל־יְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔ט יֵלְכ֧וּ עֲבָדַ֛י עִם־עֲבָדֶ֖יךָ בׇּאֳנִיּ֑וֹת וְלֹ֥א אָבָ֖ה יְהוֹשָׁפָֽט׃

Tunc ait Ochozias filius Achab ad Josaphat : Vadant servi mei cum servis tuis in navibus. Et noluit Josaphat.

Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in his father David’s city. Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
22:51
וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב יְהוֹשָׁפָט֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקָּבֵר֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו בְּעִ֖יר דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑יו וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ יְהוֹרָ֥ם בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ιωσαφατ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐτάφη παρὰ τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωραμ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ
Dormivitque Josaphat cum patribus suis, et sepultus est cum eis in civitate David patris sui : regnavitque Joram filius ejus pro eo.
ወዮሳፍጥ፡ ሰከበ፡ ምስለ፡ አበዊሁ፡ ወተቀብረ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወነግሠ፡ ኢዮራም፡ ወልዱ፡ ህየንቴሁ።
Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned two years over Israel.
22:52
אֲחַזְיָ֣הוּ בֶן־אַחְאָ֗ב מָלַ֤ךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן בִּשְׁנַת֙ שְׁבַ֣ע עֶשְׂרֵ֔ה לִיהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֥ךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל שְׁנָתָֽיִם׃
καὶ Οχοζιας υἱὸς Αχααβ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ ἐν ἔτει ἑπτακαιδεκάτῳ Ιωσαφατ βασιλεῖ Ιουδα καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ισραηλ ἔτη δύο
Ochozias autem filius Achab regnare coeperat super Israël in Samaria, anno septimodecimo Josaphat regis Juda : regnavitque super Israël duobus annis.
ወአካዝያስ፡ ወልደ፡ አካአብ፡ ነግሠ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ በሰማርያ ፤ አመ፡ ፲ወ፰ዓመተ፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለዮሳፍጥ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ነግሠ፡ ለእስራል፡ ክልኤተ፡ ዓመተ።
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, in which he made Israel to sin.
22:53
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ בְּדֶ֤רֶךְ אָבִיו֙ וּבְדֶ֣רֶךְ אִמּ֔וֹ וּבְדֶ֙רֶךְ֙ יָרׇבְעָ֣ם בֶּן־נְבָ֔ט אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶחֱטִ֖יא אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν ὁδῷ Αχααβ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ὁδῷ Ιεζαβελ τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις οἴκου Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ
Et fecit malum in conspectu Domini, et ambulavit in via patris sui et matris suae, et in via Jeroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Israël.
ወገብረ፡ እኩየ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወሖረ፡ በፍኖተ፡ አቡሁ፡ አካአብ፡ ወበፍኖተ፡ ኤዛቤል፡ እሙ፡ ወበኀጢአተ፡ ኢዮራብዓም፡ ወልደ፡ ናባጥ፡ ዘአስሐቶሙ፡ ለእስራኤል።
He served Baal and worshiped him, and provoked Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger in all the ways that his father had done so.
22:54
וַֽיַּעֲבֹד֙ אֶת־הַבַּ֔עַל וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖ה ל֑וֹ וַיַּכְעֵ֗ס אֶת־יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֖ה אָבִֽיו׃
καὶ ἐδούλευσεν τοῖς Βααλιμ καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτοῖς καὶ παρώργισεν τὸν κύριον θεὸν Ισραηλ κατὰ πάντα τὰ γενόμενα ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ
Servivit quoque Baal, et adoravit eum, et irritavit Dominum Deum Israël, juxta omnia quae fecerat pater ejus.
ወተቀንየ፡ ለበለዓም፡ ወሰገደ፡ ሎሙ፡ ወአምዕዖ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ገብሩ፡ እምቅድሜሁ።
