16:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֤י דְבַר ־יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל ־יֵה֣וּא בֶן ־חֲנָ֔נִי עַל ־בַּעְשָׁ֖א לֵאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου ἐν χειρὶ Ιου υἱοῦ Ανανι πρὸς Βαασα
Factus est autem sermo Domini ad Jehu filium Hanani contra Baasa , dicens :
ወኮነ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኀበ ፡ አዩ ፡ ወልደ ፡ አናኒ ፡ በእንተ ፡ በአስ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፤
Yahweh’s word came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
16:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ יַ֗עַן אֲשֶׁ֤ר הֲרִימֹתִ֙יךָ֙ מִן ־הֶ֣עָפָ֔ר וָאֶתֶּנְךָ֣ נָגִ֔יד עַ֖ל עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַתֵּ֣לֶךְ ׀ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יָרׇבְעָ֗ם וַֽתַּחֲטִא֙ אֶת ־עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְהַכְעִיסֵ֖נִי בְּחַטֹּאתָֽם ׃
ἀνθ’ ὧν ὕψωσά σε ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἔδωκά σε ἡγούμενον ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπορεύθης ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ Ιεροβοαμ καὶ ἐξήμαρτες τὸν λαόν μου τὸν Ισραηλ τοῦ παροργίσαι με ἐν τοῖς ματαίοις αὐτῶν
Pro eo quod exaltavi te de pulvere , et posui te ducem super populum meum Israël , tu autem ambulasti in via Jeroboam , et peccare fecisti populum meum Israël , ut me irritares in peccatis eorum :
አብድንቲሁ ፡ ለባአስ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ሀገር ፡ ከለባትአ ፡ ይበልዕዎሙአ ፡ ወአብድንቲሆሙአ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ገዳምአ ፡ አዕዋፈ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ይበልዕዎሙአ ።
“Because I exalted you out of the dust and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,
16:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ הִנְנִ֥י מַבְעִ֛יר אַחֲרֵ֥י בַעְשָׁ֖א וְאַחֲרֵ֣י בֵית֑וֹ וְנָֽתַתִּי֙ אֶת ־בֵּ֣יתְךָ֔ כְּבֵ֖ית יָרׇבְעָ֥ם בֶּן ־נְבָֽט ׃
ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξεγείρω ὀπίσω Βαασα καὶ ὄπισθεν τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ δώσω τὸν οἶκόν σου ὡς τὸν οἶκον Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ
ecce ego demetam posteriora Baasa , et posteriora domus ejus , et faciam domum tuam sicut domum Jeroboam filii Nabat .
ናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ ኣነሥእ ፡ ድኅሬሁ ፡ ለባአስ ፡ ወድኅረ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ ወእሬስዮ ፡ ከመ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ኢዮርብዓም ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናባጥአ ።
behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַמֵּ֤ת לְבַעְשָׁא֙ בָּעִ֔יר יֹאכְל֖וּ הַכְּלָבִ֑ים וְהַמֵּ֥ת לוֹ֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה יֹאכְל֖וּ ע֥וֹף הַשָּׁמָֽיִם ׃
τὸν τεθνηκότα τοῦ Βαασα ἐν τῇ πόλει καταφάγονται αὐτὸν οἱ κύνες καὶ τὸν τεθνηκότα αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ καταφάγονται αὐτὸν τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ
Qui mortuus fuerit de Baasa in civitate , comedent eum canes : et qui mortuus fuerit ex eo in regione , comedent eum volucres caeli .
— The dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field, the birds of the sky will eat.”
16:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיֶ֨תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י בַעְשָׁ֛א וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה וּגְבוּרָת֑וֹ הֲלֹא ־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל ־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Βαασα καὶ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν καὶ αἱ δυναστεῖαι αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ
Reliqua autem sermonum Baasa , et quaecumque fecit , et praelia ejus , nonne haec scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Israël ?
ወኵሉ ፡ ነገሩ ፡ ለባአስ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ኀይሉ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዘጽሑፍ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ነቢያቲሆሙ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ መንግሥቶሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ።
Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב בַּעְשָׁא֙ עִם ־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר בְּתִרְצָ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אֵלָ֥ה בְנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Βαασα μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ θάπτεται ἐν Θερσα καὶ βασιλεύει Ηλα υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ εἰκοστῷ ἔτει βασιλέως Ασα
Dormivit ergo Baasa cum patribus suis , sepultusque est in Thersa : et regnavit Ela filius ejus pro eo .
ወሰከበ ፡ በአስ ፡ ምስለ ፡ አበዊሁ ፡ ወተቀብረ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ተርሳ ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ኤላ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፡ አመ ፡ ፳ዓመተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ለአሳ ።
Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.
16:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְגַ֡ם בְּיַד ־יֵה֨וּא בֶן ־חֲנָ֜נִי הַנָּבִ֗יא דְּבַר ־יְהֹוָ֡ה הָיָה֩ אֶל ־בַּעְשָׁ֨א וְאֶל ־בֵּית֜וֹ וְעַ֥ל כׇּל ־הָרָעָ֣ה ׀ אֲשֶׁר ־עָשָׂ֣ה ׀ בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֗ה לְהַכְעִיסוֹ֙ בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יָדָ֔יו לִֽהְי֖וֹת כְּבֵ֣ית יָרׇבְעָ֑ם וְעַ֥ל אֲשֶׁר ־הִכָּ֖ה אֹתֽוֹ ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐν χειρὶ Ιου υἱοῦ Ανανι ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐπὶ Βαασα καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ πᾶσαν τὴν κακίαν ἣν ἐποίησεν ἐνώπιον κυρίου τοῦ παροργίσαι αὐτὸν ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν αὐτοῦ τοῦ εἶναι κατὰ τὸν οἶκον Ιεροβοαμ καὶ ὑπὲρ τοῦ πατάξαι αὐτόν
Cum autem in manu Jehu filii Hanani prophetae verbum Domini factum esset contra Baasa , et contra domum ejus , et contra omne malum quod fecerat coram Domino , ad irritandum eum in operibus manuum suarum , ut fieret sicut domus Jeroboam : ob hanc causam occidit eum , hoc est , Jehu filium Hanani prophetam .
ወነበቦ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በእደ ፡ እዩ ፡ ወልደ ፡ አናኒ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ በአስ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ እኪት ፡ ዘኮነ ፡ እንተ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ ያምዕዖ ፡ በግብረ ፡ እደዊሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኩን ፡ ከመ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ኢዮራብዓም ፡ ወከመ ፡ ይቅትልዎ ።
Moreover Yahweh’s word came by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck him.
16:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ בִּשְׁנַ֨ת עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וָשֵׁשׁ֙ שָׁנָ֔ה לְאָסָ֖א מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה מָ֠לַ֠ךְ אֵלָ֨ה בֶן ־בַּעְשָׁ֧א עַל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל בְּתִרְצָ֖ה שְׁנָתָֽיִם ׃
καὶ Ηλα υἱὸς Βαασα ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ Ισραηλ δύο ἔτη ἐν Θερσα
Anno vigesimo sexto Asa regis Juda , regnavit Ela filius Baasa super Israël in Thersa , duobus annis .
ወነግሠ ፡ ኤላ ፡ ወልደ ፡ በአስ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ፪ዓመተ ፡ በተርሳ ።
In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years.
16:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקְשֹׁ֤ר עָלָיו֙ עַבְדּ֣וֹ זִמְרִ֔י שַׂ֖ר מַחֲצִ֣ית הָרָ֑כֶב וְה֤וּא בְתִרְצָה֙ שֹׁתֶ֣ה שִׁכּ֔וֹר בֵּ֣ית אַרְצָ֔א אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל ־הַבַּ֖יִת בְּתִרְצָֽה ׃
καὶ συνέστρεψεν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν Ζαμβρι ὁ ἄρχων τῆς ἡμίσους τῆς ἵππου καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν ἐν Θερσα πίνων μεθύων ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ Ωσα τοῦ οἰκονόμου ἐν Θερσα
Et rebellavit contra eum servus suus Zambri , dux mediae partis equitum : erat autem Ela in Thersa bibens , et temulentus in domo Arsa praefecti Thersa .
ወአስተጋብአ ፡ ዘንበሪ ፡ ደቆ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ መልአክ ፡ መንፈቀ ፡ ኀይለ ፡ አፍራስ ፡ ወኤላሰ ፡ ሀለወ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቴርሳ ፡ ይሰቲ ፡ ወይሰክር ፡ በቤቱ ፡ ለዖሳ ፡ መጋቢሁ ፡ ዘቲርሳ ።
His servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah;
16:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֹ֤א זִמְרִי֙ וַיַּכֵּ֣הוּ וַיְמִיתֵ֔הוּ בִּשְׁנַת֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים וָשֶׁ֔בַע לְאָסָ֖א מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְ תַּחְתָּֽיו ׃
καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ζαμβρι καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ
Irruens ergo Zambri , percussit et occidit eum , anno vigesimo septimo Asa regis Juda , et regnavit pro eo .
ወቦአ ፡ ዘንበሪ ፡ ወረገዞ ፡ ወቀተሎ ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ።
and Zimri went in and struck him and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.
16:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֨י בְמׇלְכ֜וֹ כְּשִׁבְתּ֣וֹ עַל ־כִּסְא֗וֹ הִכָּה֙ אֶת ־כׇּל ־בֵּ֣ית בַּעְשָׁ֔א לֹא ־הִשְׁאִ֥יר ל֖וֹ מַשְׁתִּ֣ין בְּקִ֑יר וְגֹאֲלָ֖יו וְרֵעֵֽהוּ ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ καθίσαι αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπάταξεν ὅλον τὸν οἶκον Βαασα
Cumque regnasset , et sedisset super solium ejus , percussit omnem domum Baasa , et non dereliquit ex ea mingentem ad parietem : et propinquos et amicos ejus .
ወኮነ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ ወነበረ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ መንበረ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ቀተለ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ባአስ ፤
When he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he attacked all the house of Baasha. He didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall among his relatives or his friends.
16:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּשְׁמֵ֣ד זִמְרִ֔י אֵ֖ת כׇּל ־בֵּ֣ית בַּעְשָׁ֑א כִּדְבַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֣ר אֶל ־בַּעְשָׁ֔א בְּיַ֖ד יֵה֥וּא הַנָּבִֽיא ׃
κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Βαασα πρὸς Ιου τὸν προφήτην
Delevitque Zambri omnem domum Baasa , juxta verbum Domini quod locutus fuerat ad Baasa in manu Jehu prophetae ,
በከመ ፡ ነበበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ባአስ ፡ በከመ ፡ ተናገረ ፡ በአፉሁ ፡ ለኢዩ ፡ ነቢይ ፤
Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
16:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֶ֚ל כׇּל ־חַטֹּ֣אות בַּעְשָׁ֔א וְחַטֹּ֖אות אֵלָ֣ה בְנ֑וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָטְא֗וּ וַאֲשֶׁ֤ר הֶחֱטִ֙יאוּ֙ אֶת ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לְהַכְעִ֗יס אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּהַבְלֵיהֶֽם ׃
περὶ πασῶν τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν Βαασα καὶ Ηλα τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ ὡς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ τοῦ παροργίσαι κύριον τὸν θεὸν Ισραηλ ἐν τοῖς ματαίοις αὐτῶν
propter universa peccata Baasa , et peccata Ela filii ejus , qui peccaverunt , et peccare fecerunt Israël , provocantes Dominum Deum Israël in vanitatibus suis .
በእንተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ኀጢአቱ ፡ ለባአስ ፡ ወለኤላ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ ዘከመ ፡ አስሐቶሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ከመ ፡ ያምዕዕዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ በርኵሰ ፡ ዚአሆሙ ።
for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
16:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י אֵלָ֖ה וְכׇל ־אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲלוֹא ־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל ־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃ {פ}
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ηλα καὶ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ

ወዘተረፈ ፡ ነገሩ ፡ ለኤላ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ዘጽሑፍ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ነቢያቲሆሙ ፡ ለነገሥተ ፡ እስራኤል ።

16:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ בִּשְׁנַת֩ עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וָשֶׁ֜בַע שָׁנָ֗ה לְאָסָא֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה מָלַ֥ךְ זִמְרִ֛י שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים בְּתִרְצָ֑ה וְהָעָ֣ם חֹנִ֔ים עַֽל ־גִּבְּת֖וֹן אֲשֶׁ֥ר לַפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים ׃
καὶ Ζαμβρι ἐβασίλευσεν ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἐν Θερσα καὶ ἡ παρεμβολὴ Ισραηλ ἐπὶ Γαβαθων τὴν τῶν ἀλλοφύλων
Anno vigesimo septimo Asa regis Juda , regnavit Zambri septem diebus in Thersa : porro exercitus obsidebat Gebbethon urbem Philisthinorum .
ወዝንበሪ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ ፯ዓመተ ፡ በተርሳ ፡ ወተዓይኒሆሙሰ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገባቶን ፡ ዘኢሎፍሊ ።
In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
16:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע הָעָם֙ הַחֹנִ֣ים לֵאמֹ֔ר קָשַׁ֣ר זִמְרִ֔י וְגַ֖ם הִכָּ֣ה אֶת ־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיַּמְלִ֣כוּ כׇֽל ־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֠ל אֶת ־עׇמְרִ֨י שַׂר ־צָבָ֧א עַל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה ׃
καὶ ἤκουσεν ὁ λαὸς ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ λεγόντων συνεστράφη Ζαμβρι καὶ ἔπαισεν τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν ἐν Ισραηλ τὸν Αμβρι τὸν ἡγούμενον τῆς στρατιᾶς ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ
Cumque audisset rebellasse Zambri , et occidisse regem , fecit sibi regem omnis Israël Amri , qui erat princeps militiae super Israël in die illa in castris .
ወሰምዑ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ተዓይን ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብሉ ፡ ዐለወ ፡ ዝንበሪ ፡ ወቀተሎ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ህየንቴሁ ፡ ወከመዝ ፡ ሰምዑ ፡ ወአንገሥዎ ፡ ለዝንበሪ ፡ መልአከ ፡ ሰራዊት ፡ በይእቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ በውስተ ፡ ትዕይንት ።
The people who were encamped heard that Zimri had conspired, and had also killed the king. Therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.
16:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲלֶ֥ה עׇמְרִ֛י וְכׇל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל עִמּ֖וֹ מִֽגִּבְּת֑וֹן וַיָּצֻ֖רוּ עַל ־תִּרְצָֽה ׃
καὶ ἀνέβη Αμβρι καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐκ Γαβαθων καὶ περιεκάθισαν ἐπὶ Θερσα
Ascendit ergo Amri , et omnis Israël cum eo , de Gebbethon , et obsidebant Thersa .
ወዐርገ ፡ ዝንበሪ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ እምገባቶን ፡ ወዐገትዋ ፡ ለቴርሳ ፡ ወነበሩ ፡ ውስቴታ ።
Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
16:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֞י כִּרְא֤וֹת זִמְרִי֙ כִּֽי ־נִלְכְּדָ֣ה הָעִ֔יר וַיָּבֹ֖א אֶל ־אַרְמ֣וֹן בֵּית ־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיִּשְׂרֹ֨ף עָלָ֧יו אֶת ־בֵּֽית ־מֶ֛לֶךְ בָּאֵ֖שׁ וַיָּמֹֽת ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς εἶδεν Ζαμβρι ὅτι προκατείλημπται αὐτοῦ ἡ πόλις καὶ εἰσπορεύεται εἰς ἄντρον τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἐνεπύρισεν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως ἐν πυρὶ καὶ ἀπέθανεν
Videns autem Zambri quod expugnanda esset civitas , ingressus est palatium , et succendit se cum domo regia : et mortuus est
ወእምዝ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ርእየ ፡ ዝንበሪ ፡ እስመ ፡ ተዐግተት ፡ ሀገር ፡ ወከመ ፡ አውዐዩ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወአውዐየ ፡ ውእቱሂ ፡ በቤተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወሞተ ፤
When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the fortified part of the king’s house and burned the king’s house over him with fire, and died,
16:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ עַל ־חַטֹּאתָיו֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָטָ֔א לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יָרׇבְעָ֔ם וּבְחַטָּאתוֹ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה לְהַחֲטִ֖יא אֶת ־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
ὑπὲρ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτοῦ ὧν ἐποίησεν τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου πορευθῆναι ἐν ὁδῷ Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτοῦ ὡς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ
in peccatis suis quae peccaverat , faciens malum coram Domino , et ambulans in via Jeroboam , et in peccato ejus , quo fecit peccare Israël .
በእንተ ፡ ኀጣውኢሁ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘሖረ ፡ በፍኖተ ፡ ኢዮራብዓም ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናባጥ ፡ ወበኀጢአቱ ፡ ዘአስሐቶሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ።
for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did to make Israel to sin.
16:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיֶ֙תֶר֙ דִּבְרֵ֣י זִמְרִ֔י וְקִשְׁר֖וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר קָשָׁ֑ר הֲלֹא ־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל ־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃ {פ}
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ζαμβρι καὶ τὰς συνάψεις αὐτοῦ ἃς συνῆψεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ
Reliqua autem sermonum Zambri , et insidiarum ejus , et tyrannidis , nonne haec scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Israël ?
ወተረፈ ፡ ነገሩ ፡ ለዝንበሪ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዘጽሑፍ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ነቢያቲሆሙ ፡ ለነገሥተ ፡ እስራኤል ።
Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he committed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ אָ֧ז יֵחָלֵ֛ק הָעָ֥ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לַחֵ֑צִי חֲצִ֨י הָעָ֜ם הָ֠יָ֠ה אַחֲרֵ֨י תִבְנִ֤י בֶן ־גִּינַת֙ לְהַמְלִיכ֔וֹ וְהַחֲצִ֖י אַחֲרֵ֥י עׇמְרִֽי ׃
τότε μερίζεται ὁ λαὸς Ισραηλ ἥμισυ τοῦ λαοῦ γίνεται ὀπίσω Θαμνι υἱοῦ Γωναθ τοῦ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτόν καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ τοῦ λαοῦ γίνεται ὀπίσω Αμβρι
Tunc divisus est populus Israël in duas partes : media pars populi sequebatur Thebni filium Gineth , ut constitueret eum regem : et media pars Amri .
ወአሜሃ ፡ ተከፍለ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ እስራኤል ፤ መንፈቀ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ተለውዎ ፡ ለተምኒ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ጎታን ፡ ከመ ፡ ያንግሥዎ ፤ ወመንፈቀ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ተለውዎ ፡ ለዝንበሪ ።
Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.
16:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֶּחֱזַ֤ק הָעָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַחֲרֵ֣י עׇמְרִ֔י אֶת ־הָעָ֕ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַחֲרֵ֖י תִּבְנִ֣י בֶן ־גִּינַ֑ת וַיָּ֣מׇת תִּבְנִ֔י וַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְ עׇמְרִֽי ׃ {פ}
ὁ λαὸς ὁ ὢν ὀπίσω Αμβρι ὑπερεκράτησεν τὸν λαὸν τὸν ὀπίσω Θαμνι υἱοῦ Γωναθ καὶ ἀπέθανεν Θαμνι καὶ Ιωραμ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Αμβρι μετὰ Θαμνι
Praevaluit autem populus qui erat cum Amri , populo qui sequebatur Thebni filium Gineth : mortuusque est Thebni , et regnavit Amri .
ወሕዝብ ፡ ዘተለውዎ ፡ ለዝንበሪ ፡ ጸንዕዎሙ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ እለ ፡ ተለውዎ ፡ ለተምኒ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ጎታን ፡ ወሞተ ፡ ተምኒ ፡ ወኢዮራም ፡ እኁሁ ፡ በውእቱ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ዝንበሪ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ ተምኒ ።
But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath; so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
16:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ בִּשְׁנַת֩ שְׁלֹשִׁ֨ים וְאַחַ֜ת שָׁנָ֗ה לְאָסָא֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה מָלַ֤ךְ עׇמְרִי֙ עַל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שְׁתֵּ֥ים עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה שָׁנָ֑ה בְּתִרְצָ֖ה מָלַ֥ךְ שֵׁשׁ ־שָׁנִֽים ׃
ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ τριακοστῷ καὶ πρώτῳ τοῦ βασιλέως Ασα βασιλεύει Αμβρι ἐπὶ Ισραηλ δώδεκα ἔτη ἐν Θερσα βασιλεύει ἓξ ἔτη
Anno trigesimo primo Asa regis Juda , regnavit Amri super Israël , duodecim annis : in Thersa regnavit sex annis .
አመ ፡ ፴ወ፩ዓመተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ለአሳ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ ዝንበሪ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ፲ወ፪ዓመተ ፡ ወ፮ዓመተ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ በቴርሳ ።
In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel for twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah.
16:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּ֜קֶן אֶת ־הָהָ֥ר שֹׁמְר֛וֹן מֵ֥אֶת שֶׁ֖מֶר בְּכִכְּרַ֣יִם כָּ֑סֶף וַיִּ֙בֶן֙ אֶת ־הָהָ֔ר וַיִּקְרָ֗א אֶת ־שֵׁ֤ם הָעִיר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנָ֔ה עַ֣ל שֶׁם ־שֶׁ֔מֶר אֲדֹנֵ֖י הָהָ֥ר שֹׁמְרֽוֹן ׃
καὶ ἐκτήσατο Αμβρι τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σεμερων παρὰ Σεμηρ τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ ὄρους δύο ταλάντων ἀργυρίου καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τὸ ὄρος καὶ ἐπεκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ ὄρους οὗ ᾠκοδόμεσεν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Σεμηρ τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ ὄρους Σαεμηρων
Emitque montem Samariae a Somer duobus talentis argenti : et aedificavit eum , et vocavit nomen civitatis quam exstruxerat , nomine Semer domini montis , Samariam .
ወተሣየጦ ፡ ዝንበሪ ፡ ለደብረ ፡ ሰምሮን ፡ በኀበ ፡ ሴምር ፡ እግዚኡ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ደብር ፡ በክልኤ ፡ መካልየ ፡ ብሩር ፡ ወሐነጾ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ደብር ፡ ወሰመዩ ፡ ስሞ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ደብር ፡ ዘሐነጸ ፡ በስመ ፡ ሴሜር ፡ እግዚኡ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ደብር ፡ ሴሜሮን ።
He bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.
16:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה עׇמְרִ֛י הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיָּ֕רַע מִכֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְפָנָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν Αμβρι τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἐπονηρεύσατο ὑπὲρ πάντας τοὺς γενομένους ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ
Fecit autem Amri malum in conspectu Domini , et operatus est nequiter , super omnes qui fuerunt ante eum .
ወገብረ ፡ ዝንበሪ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአፈድፈደ ፡ ገቢረ ፡ እኪት ፡ ፈድፋደ ፡ እምነ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ኮኑ ፡ እምቅድሜሁ ።
Omri did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him.
16:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ בְּכׇל ־דֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ יָרׇבְעָ֣ם בֶּן ־נְבָ֔ט (ובחטאתיו ) [וּ֨בְחַטָּאת֔וֹ ] אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶחֱטִ֖יא אֶת ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְהַכְעִ֗יס אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּהַבְלֵיהֶֽם ׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν πάσῃ ὁδῷ Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτοῦ αἷς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ τοῦ παροργίσαι τὸν κύριον θεὸν Ισραηλ ἐν τοῖς ματαίοις αὐτῶν
Ambulavitque in omni via Jeroboam filii Nabat , et in peccatis ejus quibus peccare fecerat Israël , ut irritaret Dominum Deum Israël in vanitatibus suis .
ወሖረ ፡ በፍኖተ ፡ ኢዮራብዓም ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናባጥ ፡ ወበኀጢአቱ ፡ ዘአስሐቶሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ከመ ፡ ያምዕዕዎ (ሙ )፡ በከንቶሙ ።
For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
16:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיֶ֨תֶר דִּבְרֵ֤י עׇמְרִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה וּגְבוּרָת֖וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲלֹא ־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל ־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Αμβρι καὶ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν καὶ ἡ δυναστεία αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ

16:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב עׇמְרִי֙ עִם ־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר בְּשֹׁמְר֑וֹן וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אַחְאָ֥ב בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Αμβρι μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ θάπτεται ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ καὶ βασιλεύει Αχααβ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ τῷ ἑνδεκάτῳ τοῦ Αμβρι βασιλεύει Ιωσαφατ υἱὸς Ασα ἐτῶν τριάκοντα καὶ πέντε ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἴκοσι πέντε ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Γαζουβα θυγάτηρ Σελεϊ καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ Ασα τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐξέκλινεν ἀπ’ αὐτῆς τοῦ ποιεῖν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον κυρίου πλὴν τῶν ὑψηλῶν οὐκ ἐξῆραν ἔθυον ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς καὶ ἐθυμίων καὶ ἃ συνέθετο Ιωσαφατ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ δυναστεία ἣν ἐποίησεν καὶ οὓς ἐπολέμησεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐν βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τῶν βασιλέων Ιουδα καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν συμπλοκῶν ἃς ἐπέθεντο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Ασα τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐξῆρεν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς καὶ βασιλεὺς οὐκ ἦν ἐν Συρίᾳ νασιβ καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωσαφατ ἐποίησεν ναῦν εἰς Θαρσις πορεύεσθαι εἰς Σωφιρ ἐπὶ τὸ χρυσίον καὶ οὐκ ἐπορεύθη ὅτι συνετρίβη ἡ ναῦς ἐν Γασιωνγαβερ τότε εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Ιωσαφατ ἐξαποστελῶ τοὺς παῖδάς σου καὶ τὰ παιδάριά μου ἐν τῇ νηί καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο Ιωσαφατ καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ιωσαφατ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ θάπτεται μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ιωραμ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ
Dormivitque Amri cum patribus suis , et sepultus est in Samaria : regnavitque Achab filius ejus pro eo .
ወሰከበ ፡ ዝንበሪ ፡ ምስለ ፡ አበዊሁ ፡ ወቀበርዎ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሰማርያ ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ አካአብ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ። 2 አመ ፡ ፲ዓመቱ ፡ ለዝንበሪ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ ዮሳፍጥ ፡ ወልደ ፡ አሳ ፤ 3 ፴ወ፭ዓመቱ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ አመ ፡ ይነግሥ ፡ ወ፳ወ፭ዓመተ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ወስማ ፡ ለእሙ ፡ ገቡዛ ፡ ወለተ ፡ ሴሌሕ ። 4 ወሖረ ፡ በፍኖተ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ አሳ ፡ ወኢተግሕሠ ፡ እምኔሃ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይግበር ፡ ጽድቀ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ 5 ወባሕቱ ፡ ኢያሰሰለ ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ አድባር ፡ ወይሠውዑ ፡ ወየዐጥኑ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ በውስተ ፡ አድባር ። 6 ወዘከመ ፡ ረሰየ ፡ ዮሳፍጥ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ኀይሉ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ወዘጸብአ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዘጽሑፍ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ነቢያት ፡ መዋዕሊሆሙ ፡ ለነገሥተ ፡ ይሁዳ ። 7 ወኵሎ ፡ ዘአምለኩ ፡ በመዋዕለ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ አሰሰለ ፡ እምነ ፡ ምድር ። 8 ወአልቦ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ በሶርያ ፡ ዘናሴብ ። 9 ወገብረ ፡ ኢዮሳፍጥ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ሐመረ ፡ በተርሴስ ፡ እንተ ፡ ተሐውር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሳፍር ፡ ታእቱ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ወ [ኢ ]ሖረት ፡ እስመ ፡ ተ [ሰ ]ብረት ፡ ሐመራ ፡ በጋስዮን ፡ ዘጋቢር ። 10 ወይቤሎ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ለኢዮሳፍጥ ፡ ንፈኑ ፡ ደቀከ ፡ ወደቅየ ፡ በሐመር ፡ ወአበየ ፡ ኢዮላፍጥ ። 11 ወሰከበ ፡ ኢዮሳፍጥ ፡ ምስለ ፡ አበዊሁ ፡ በሀገረ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ወነግሠ ፡ ኢዮራም ፡ ወልዱ ፡ ህየንቴሁ ።
So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place.
16:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַחְאָ֣ב בֶּן ־עׇמְרִ֗י מָלַךְ֙ עַל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בִּשְׁנַ֨ת שְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וּשְׁמֹנֶה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה לְאָסָ֖א מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה וַ֠יִּמְלֹ֠ךְ אַחְאָ֨ב בֶּן ־עׇמְרִ֤י עַל ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וּשְׁתַּ֖יִם שָׁנָֽה ׃
ἐν ἔτει δευτέρῳ τῷ Ιωσαφατ βασιλεύει Αχααβ υἱὸς Αμβρι ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ εἴκοσι καὶ δύο ἔτη
Achab vero filius Amri regnavit super Israël anno trigesimo octavo Asa regis Juda . Et regnavit Achab filius Amri super Israël in Samaria viginti et duobus annis .
ወአመ ፡ ካልእት ፡ ዓመተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ለኢዮሳፍጥ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ አካአብ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ዝንበሪ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ በሰማርያ ፡ ፳ወ፪ዓመተ ።
In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel. Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
16:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֨עַשׂ אַחְאָ֧ב בֶּן ־עׇמְרִ֛י הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה מִכֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְפָנָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν Αχααβ τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἐπονηρεύσατο ὑπὲρ πάντας τοὺς ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ
Et fecit Achab filius Amri malum in conspectu Domini super omnes qui fuerunt ante eum .

Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight above all that were before him.
16:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיְהִי֙ הֲנָקֵ֣ל לֶכְתּ֔וֹ בְּחַטֹּ֖אות יָרׇבְעָ֣ם בֶּן ־נְבָ֑ט וַיִּקַּ֨ח אִשָּׁ֜ה אֶת ־אִיזֶ֗בֶל בַּת ־אֶתְבַּ֙עַל֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ צִידֹנִ֔ים וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ וַיַּעֲבֹ֣ד אֶת ־הַבַּ֔עַל וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ לֽוֹ ׃
καὶ οὐκ ἦν αὐτῷ ἱκανὸν τοῦ πορεύεσθαι ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ καὶ ἔλαβεν γυναῖκα τὴν Ιεζαβελ θυγατέρα Ιεθεβααλ βασιλέως Σιδωνίων καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἐδούλευσεν τῷ Βααλ καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτῷ
Nec suffecit ei ut ambularet in peccatis Jeroboam filii Nabat : insuper duxit uxorem Jezabel filiam Ethbaal regis Sidoniorum . Et abiit , et servivit Baal , et adoravit eum .
ወኢመጠኑ ፡ ይሖሩ ፡ በፍኖተ ፡ ኀጢአቱ ፡ ለኢዮራብዓም ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናባጥ ፡ ወአውሰበ ፡ ብእሲተ ፡ እንተ ፡ ስማ ፡ ኢያዜብል ፡ ወለተ ፡ ኢየተባሔል ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ሲዶና ፡ ወሖረ ፡ ወተቀንየ ፡ ለበዓል ፡ ወሰገደ ፡ ሎቱ ።
As if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal and worshiped him.
16:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּ֥קֶם מִזְבֵּ֖חַ לַבָּ֑עַל בֵּ֣ית הַבַּ֔עַל אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנָ֖ה בְּשֹׁמְרֽוֹן ׃
καὶ ἔστησεν θυσιαστήριον τῷ Βααλ ἐν οἴκῳ τῶν προσοχθισμάτων αὐτοῦ ὃν ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ
Et posuit aram Baal in templo Baal , quod aedificaverat in Samaria ,
ወገብረ ፡ ምሥዋዐ ፡ ለበዓል ፡ በውስተ ፡ [ቤተ ፡] አማልክቲሁ ፡ ዘሐነጸ ፡ በሰማርያ ።
He raised up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
16:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֥עַשׂ אַחְאָ֖ב אֶת ־הָאֲשֵׁרָ֑ה וַיּ֨וֹסֶף אַחְאָ֜ב לַעֲשׂ֗וֹת לְהַכְעִיס֙ אֶת ־יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִכֹּל֙ מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָי֖וּ לְפָנָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν Αχααβ ἄλσος καὶ προσέθηκεν Αχααβ τοῦ ποιῆσαι παροργίσματα τοῦ παροργίσαι τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ τοῦ ἐξολεθρευθῆναι ἐκακοποίησεν ὑπὲρ πάντας τοὺς βασιλεῖς Ισραηλ τοὺς γενομένους ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ
et plantavit lucum : et addidit Achab in opere suo , irritans Dominum Deum Israël super omnes reges Israël qui fuerunt ante eum .
ወገብረ ፡ አካአብ ፡ ምሕራማተ ፡ ዖም ፡ ወወሰከ ፡ ገቢረ ፡ በዘያምዕዖ ፡ ወያመርር ፡ በዘ ፡ ትሤሮ ፡ ነፍሱ ፡ ወአፈድፈደ ፡ ገቢረ ፡ እኪት ፡ እምነ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እለ ፡ ነግሡ ፡ አምቅድሜሁ ።
Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did more yet to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
16:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ בְּיָמָ֞יו בָּנָ֥ה חִיאֵ֛ל בֵּ֥ית הָאֱלִ֖י אֶת ־יְרִיחֹ֑ה בַּאֲבִירָ֨ם בְּכֹר֜וֹ יִסְּדָ֗הּ (ובשגיב ) [וּבִשְׂג֤וּב ] צְעִירוֹ֙ הִצִּ֣יב דְּלָתֶ֔יהָ כִּדְבַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֔ר בְּיַ֖ד יְהוֹשֻׁ֥עַ בִּן ־נֽוּן ׃ {ס}
ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ ᾠκοδόμησεν Αχιηλ ὁ Βαιθηλίτης τὴν Ιεριχω ἐν τῷ Αβιρων τῷ πρωτοτόκῳ αὐτοῦ ἐθεμελίωσεν αὐτὴν καὶ τῷ Σεγουβ τῷ νεωτέρῳ αὐτοῦ ἐπέστησεν θύρας αὐτῆς κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου ὃ ἐλάλησεν ἐν χειρὶ Ιησου υἱοῦ Ναυη
In diebus ejus aedificavit Hiel de Bethel Jericho : in Abiram primitivo suo fundavit eam , et in Segub novissimo suo posuit portas ejus , juxta verbum Domini quod locutus fuerat in manu Josue filii Nun .
ወሐነጸ ፡ አኪያል ፡ ቤተሌዊ ፡ ወሣረራ ፡ [ለኢያሪኮ ፡] በአብሮን ፡ በኵሩ ፡ ወአቀመ ፡ ኆኃቲሃ ፡ በዜጉብ ፡ ወሬዛሁ ፡ በከመ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘነበበ ፡ በእደ ፡ ኢያሱ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ነዌ ።
In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho. He laid its foundation with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
