2:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Κἀγὼ ἐλθὼν πρὸς ὑμᾶς , ἀδελφοί , ἦλθον οὐ καθ’ ὑπεροχὴν λόγου ἢ σοφίας καταγγέλλων ὑμῖν τὸ μαρτύριον τοῦ θεοῦ .
Et ego , cum venissem ad vos , fratres , veni non in sublimitate sermonis , aut sapientiae , annuntians vobis testimonium Christi .
ወአነሂ ሶበ መጻእኩ ኀቤክሙ አኀዊነ አኮ በኂጣን ወበተጥባበ ነገር ዘመጻእኩ እምሀርክሙ ትምህርተ እግዚአብሔር ።
When I came to you, brothers, I didn’t come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.
2:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ γὰρ ἔκρινά εἰδέναι τι ἐν ὑμῖν εἰ μὴ Ἰησοῦν Χριστὸν καὶ τοῦτον ἐσταυρωμένον .
Non enim judicavi me scire aliquid inter vos , nisi Jesum Christum , et hunc crucifixum .
ወኢሐዘብኩ እስማዕ በላዕሌክሙ ካልአ ነገረ ዘእንበለ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ዘተሰቅለ ።
For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
2:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ κἀγὼ ἐν ἀσθενείᾳ καὶ ἐν φόβῳ καὶ ἐν τρόμῳ πολλῷ ἐγενόμην πρὸς ὑμᾶς ,
Et ego in infirmitate , et timore , et tremore multo fui apud vos :
ወአነሂ በድካም ወበፍርሃት ወበረዓድ መጻእኩ ።
I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.
2:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὁ λόγος μου καὶ τὸ κήρυγμά μου οὐκ ἐν πειθοῖς σοφίας λόγοις ἀλλ’ ἐν ἀποδείξει πνεύματος καὶ δυνάμεως ,
et sermo meus , et praedicatio mea non in persuasibilibus humanae sapientiae verbis , sed in ostensione spiritus et virtutis :
ወቃልየኒ ወትምህርትየኒ ኢኮነ በተየውሆ ወበኂጣነ ተጥባበ ነገረ ሰብእ ዳእሙ በአርእዮ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ወኀይል ።
My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
2:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἵνα ἡ πίστις ὑμῶν μὴ ᾖ ἐν σοφίᾳ ἀνθρώπων ἀλλ’ ἐν δυνάμει θεοῦ .
ut fides vestra non sit in sapientia hominum , sed in virtute Dei .
ከመ ኢይኩን ሃይማኖትክሙ በጥበበ ሰብእ ዘእንበለ በኀይለ እግዚአብሔር ።
that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
2:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ Σοφίαν δὲ λαλοῦμεν ἐν τοῖς τελείοις , σοφίαν δὲ οὐ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου οὐδὲ τῶν ἀρχόντων τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου τῶν καταργουμένων ·
Sapientiam autem loquimur inter perfectos : sapientiam vero non hujus saeculi , neque principum hujus saeculi , qui destruuntur :
ጥበበ ንነግሮሙ ለጠቢባን ወአኮ ጥበበ ዝ ዓለም ወኢጥበበ መላእክተ ዝንቱ ዓለም ዘሀለዎሙ ይሰዐሩ ዘንነግሮሙ ።
We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown, yet a wisdom not of this world nor of the rulers of this world who are coming to nothing.
2:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ λαλοῦμεν θεοῦ σοφίαν ἐν μυστηρίῳ , τὴν ἀποκεκρυμμένην , ἣν προώρισεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸ τῶν αἰώνων εἰς δόξαν ἡμῶν ·
sed loquimur Dei sapientiam in mysterio , quae abscondita est , quam praedestinavit Deus ante saecula in gloriam nostram ,
ዘእንበለ ጥበበ እግዚአብሔር ዘንነግር ዘኅቡእ ወክቡት ጥበብ ዘበአማን ዘአቅደመ እግዚአብሔር ሐድሶቶ ወአጽንዖቶ እምቅድመ ይትፈጠር ዓለም ዘሠርዐ እግዚአብሔር ለክብረ ዚኣነ ።
But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory,
2:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἣν οὐδεὶς τῶν ἀρχόντων τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου ἔγνωκεν , εἰ γὰρ ἔγνωσαν , οὐκ ἂν τὸν κύριον τῆς δόξης ἐσταύρωσαν .
quam nemo principum hujus saeculi cognovit : si enim cognovissent , numquam Dominum gloriae crucifixissent .
ዘኢየአምርዎ መላእክተ ዝ ዓለም ወሶበሰኬ አእመሩ እምኢሰቀልዎ ለእግዚአ ስብሐት ።
which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory.
2:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ καθὼς γεγραπται · ἃ ὀφθαλμὸς οὐκ εἶδεν καὶ οὖς οὐκ ἤκουσεν καὶ ἐπὶ καρδίαν ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἀνέβη , ἃ ἡτοίμασεν ὁ θεὸς τοῖς ἀγαπῶσιν αὐτόν .
Sed sicut scriptum est : Quod oculus non vidit , nec auris audivit , nec in cor hominis ascendit , quae praeparavit Deus iis qui diligunt illum :
ወባሕቱ አኮኑ ከመዝ ይቤ መጽሐፍ «ዘዐይን ኢርእየ ወእዝን ኢሰምዐ ወውስተ ልብ ሰብእ ዘኢተኀለየ ዘአስተዳለወ እግዚአብሔር ለእለ ያፈቅርዎ ።»
But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.”
2:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡμῖν δὲ ἀπεκάλυψεν ὁ θεὸς διὰ τοῦ πνεύματος · τὸ γὰρ πνεῦμα πάντα ἐραυνᾷ , καὶ τὰ βάθη τοῦ θεοῦ .
nobis autem revelavit Deus per Spiritum suum : Spiritus enim omnia scrutatur , etiam profunda Dei .
ወለነሰ ከሠተ ለነ እግዚአብሔር በመንፈሱ እስመ መንፈስ ቅዱስ የኀሥሥ ኵሎ ማዕምቅቲሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
2:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ τίς γὰρ οἶδεν ἀνθρώπων τὰ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου εἰ μὴ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τὸ ἐν αὐτῷ ; οὕτως καὶ τὰ τοῦ θεοῦ οὐδεὶς ἔγνωκεν εἰ μὴ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ θεοῦ .
Quis enim hominum scit quae sunt hominis , nisi spiritus hominis , qui in ipso est ? ita et quae Dei sunt , nemo cognovit , nisi Spiritus Dei .
መኑ ብእሲ ዘየአምር ዘውስተ ልበ ሰብእ ዘእንበለ መንፈሱ ለሰብእ ዘላዕሌሁ ወከማሁኬ ለእግዚአብሔርኒ አልቦ ዘየአምር ኅሊናሁ ዘእንበለ መንፈሱ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except God’s Spirit.
2:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡμεῖς δὲ οὐ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ κόσμου ἐλάβομεν ἀλλὰ τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ , ἵνα εἰδῶμεν τὰ ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ χαρισθέντα ἡμῖν ·
Nos autem non spiritum hujus mundi accepimus , sed Spiritum qui ex Deo est , ut sciamus quae a Deo donata sunt nobis :
ወንሕነሰኬ ኢኮነ ዘነሣእነ መንፈሰ ዝ ዓለም ወባሕቱ ነሣእነ መንፈሰ ዘእምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ናእምር ዘወሀበነ እግዚአብሔር ጸጋ ።
But we received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.
2:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἃ καὶ λαλοῦμεν οὐκ ἐν διδακτοῖς ἀνθρωπίνης σοφίας λόγοις ἀλλ’ ἐν διδακτοῖς πνεύματος , πνευματικοῖς πνευματικὰ συνκρίνοντες .
quae et loquimur non in doctis humanae sapientiae verbis , sed in doctrina Spiritus , spiritualibus spiritualia comparantes .
ወዝንቱኒ ነገርነ ኢኮነ ትምህርተ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ወኢኮነ ጥበበ ነገር ዘእንበለ ትምህርተ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ወጥበብ መንፈሳዊ ለመንፈሳውያን እለ ይፌክሩ ዘመንፈስ ።
We also speak these things, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.
2:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ψυχικὸς δὲ ἄνθρωπος οὐ δέχεται τὰ τοῦ πνεύματος τοῦ θεοῦ , μωρία γὰρ αὐτῷ ἐστιν , καὶ οὐ δύναται γνῶναι , ὅτι πνευματικῶς ἀνακρίνεται ·
Animalis autem homo non percipit ea quae sunt Spiritus Dei : stultitia enim est illi , et non potest intelligere : quia spiritualiter examinatur .
ወለሰብእሰ ዘነፍስ ኢይኤድሞ ዘመንፈስ ወኢይትዌከፎ እስመ እበደ ይመስሎ ወኢይክል ያእምር ከመ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ይትሐተት ።
Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him; and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
2:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ πνευματικὸς ἀνακρίνει πάντα , αὐτὸς δὲ ὑπ’ οὐδενὸς ἀνακρίνεται .
Spiritualis autem judicat omnia : et ipse a nemine judicatur .
ወዘሰ ቦ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ኵሎ ይትኃሠሥ ወሎቱሰ አልቦ ዘይትኃሠሦ ።
But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is to be judged by no one.
2:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ τίς γὰρ ἔγνω νοῦν κυρίου , ὃς συμβιβάσει αὐτόν ; ἡμεῖς δὲ νοῦν Χριστοῦ ἔχομεν .
Quis enim cognovit sensum Domini , qui instruat eum ? nos autem sensum Christi habemus .
መኑ የአምር ኅሊናሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ወመኑ መማክርቲሁ ንሕነሰኬ ኅሊናሁ ለክርስቶስ ብነ ።
“For who has known the mind of the Lord that he should instruct him?” But we have Christ’s mind.
